Die App ist wirklich gut - und ich kann das mit der Werbung nicht nachvollziehen. Alles ist im Rahmen, die Artikel sind sehr gut recherchiert und sehr umfangreich. Keine leichte Kost wie bei Spiegel und Co. Aktuell meine Lieblingsquelle wenn es um Nachrichten aus den USA geht. Interessant wie Amerikaner und in Europa in der Welt sehen. Was gibt noch Hoffnung. Habe das Abo direkt bei der NYT gekauft und nicht im App Store. Zahlengedächtnis Monat €4, anstelle des viel höheren Preises im App Store. Für alle die informiert bleiben wollen ein muss!

Die App ist richtig gut, übersichtlich strukturiert, man findet schnell was man sucht. Ärgerlich sind die YouTube Beschränkungen, aber das kann NYT nicht beeinflussen.

Große thematische Breite verbunden mit Aktualität. Prima Usability mit der Möglichkeit, Beiträge in Merkliste aufzunehmen.

Mag die App sehr, inhaltlich top; nichts für Verschwörungstheorien- und Trump-Fans. Toll um zu sehen wie Europa und D von außen wahrgenommen wird. Wünsche mir noch ein dunkles Design, zum Lesen morgens und abends im Bett! I really like the App and its content; not suitable for conspiracy theories- and Trump-Fans. I like to see how Europe and Germany are perceived from the outside. I wish there was a dark design that makes it more convenient to read in bed in the mornings and evenings!

Die App an sich ist Okay, in letzter Zeit bekomme ich beim Login aber permanent die Fehlermeldung „Your device is offline“. Es nicht stimmt und ich die bezahlte Ausgabe nicht lesen kann. Erst nach einer Neuinstallation hat die App wieder funktioniert. Der NYT Chat Service hat schnell geholfen.

Die Perspektive der Zeitung ist etwas links von der Mitte, wie in D etwa die Süddeutsche Zeitung, aber die Nachrichten sind belastbar und keine Fakes. 8€ alle 4 Wochen ist auch für Wenignutzer akzeptabel.

Nach langem Warten nun endlich mit Dark Mode!

A dark mode would make reading the news may more pleasurable! I would also like a better position for the „saved for later“ folder. Sometimes I forget that I have saved articles, because I just don’t come across that folder when browsing the app. Thanks!

I use this App all the time and I am very happy with it. It helps me to quickly see world news and the NYT is clearly one of the best newspapers! The App is great except for one small detail: It’s Geofencing capability. What good is an App that will turn off features for the user at the push of a button? Their button! When posting comments on the NYT website, I have tested the ability of the App to send a bogus error message that a post cannot be made, all the while when other systems (web browsers) work fine. This does not appear to be a bug, ratter a selectable feature on the NYT side. Sad if true! This sneaky way of designing new technology is quite troubling because it would suggest a potential future none of us want to see. (1984)

The app itself is well made, easy to navigate but could use some minor improvements. For example making fonts selectable would be great, perhaps making the settings more generally accessible than just under “for you” would be nice. But my biggest problem is reading in the dark. i’d love support for a dark mode, because in the dark all of that white is almost aggressive on the eyes.

I receive my (European) Morning Briefing at about 7 A.M. by Email which is fine. But if want to read it in the App, I am not able to find it. Instead there all these links about Games and other stuff that I am just not interested in which clutter the user interface.

The new app is great, especially with the section slider on the main page. Now, it would be even more amazing, if I could change the sections, like which section to be displayed there instead of listed under other “sections” (or is that already possible?)

Reader for > 10 years. Always up to date, well researched, fair. Only question I have: Why aren’t Republicans reading it? One request: Don’t make the old guy with the incoherent speeches and utter lack of complex thinking your President- so scary.

In the past I never had issues, but recently the app freezes or crashes up. If this continues I will cancel my subscription.

It's frustrating that the app just keeps freezing on the iPhone. Sometimes you have to restart like 12 times. How should I enjoy my year long digital subscription if I can't access its content

Nach den Anschlägen von 2001 hatte ich die New York Times erstmalig abonniert, nach den Greueltaten der Hamas 2023, und vor allem der darauf folgenden Berichterstattung in der NYT, den Meinungsartikeln, den Kommentaren, habe ich sie nun wieder gekündigt. Jahrelang hatte ich die Verengung auf Themen, Ansichten, Autoren, der progressive Identity Politics ertragen, weil mir die hohe Qualität der Artikel, vor allem in meinen Bereichen, Wissenschaft und Medizin, Klima, Umwelt, Artenschutz, wichtiger waren. Aber nun kann ich die parteiischen, verzerrten, zT auf Falschinformationen beruhenden und von Unwissen über Aussenpolitik im Allgemeinen, und den mittleren Osten und den Holocaust im Besonderen bestimmten Artikel nicht mehr ertragen. Ich vermute mal, dass jeder deutsche Zeitungsleser mehr über die Entstehung Israels in der Schule gelernt hat, als die gesamte Redaktion, der New York Times so bieten kann… Der Antisemitismus auf den Seiten der New York Times bereitet mir fast körperliche Schmerzen, ich kann es nicht mehr ertragen, und wenn hier kein 180°-Wende einsetzt, war es das mit mir und der NYT…

…Feststellung: Wenn man die Leserkommentare nach Beliebtheit bzw. Am besten bewertet sortiert dann merkt man ganz schnell das die Mehrheit der US Bevölkerung genauso denkt wie die Mehrheit der Bevölkerung in Deutschland: Bei Themen wie Migration und LGBT steht man nicht mehrheitlich hinter den etablierten Parteien und den Meinungen von Journalisten. 🎊

Gut aber zu viel Werbung

Abobedingungen recht flexibel, aber: Zum Artikelaufbau braucht man immer noch eine stabile Internetverbindung. 3G reicht da nicht. Und das, nachdem ich im Wlan die Ausgabe runtergeladen hab. Der gleiche Mist wie vor drei-vier Jahren. Wenn mich das zu sehr nervt, kann ich immerhin das Abo jetzt monatlich beenden.

Wenn man des Englischen nicht perfekt mächtig ist, bevorzugt man besser die website im browser. Dann kann man sich mit der Übersetzungsfunktion unterstützen.

Ich habe eine full subscription gebucht, bezahlt und dann gekündigt. Obwohl ich den Preis für 4 Wochen gezahlt habe, habe ich trotzdem sofort nach der Kündigung keinen Zugriff mehr. Sowas gibts bei keinem anderen Abonnement!

Seit Monaten bin Abonnent der NYT App. Leider ist seit einigen Wochen ein Senden von Texten zu anderen Blattformen wie z. B. Twitter und Mail Accounts oder ein Update von Artikel nicht mehr möglich. Daher werde ich mein teures Abonnement kündigen. Das Geld kann ich dann für technisch offene Dienste verwenden.

Ich habe die App installiert im Rahmen des Test Abonnements. Obwohl ich auf der New York Times Webseite bereits alle meine Präferenzen ausgefüllt hatte und ich mich mit Apple Account angemeldet habe, ist die App nicht in der Lage, meine Pise Settings zu übernehmen. Der Versuch, die vier Schritte abzuschließen. Funktioniert nicht. Die App hängt jedes Mal bei Schritt Nummer vierund dann geht’s wieder von vorne los

Liebes Entwickler-Team, leider kann ich das Update nicht installieren, da mein Handy schon etwas älter ist (aber noch sehr gut funktioniert) und mich Apple nicht IOS 16.0 installieren lässt. Nun muss ich wohl mein NYT Abo leider kündigen.

An sich gutes Layout, aber ein ungestörtes Lesen ist aufgrund der vielen Anzeigen kaum möglich.

Leider wird die Print Ausgabe nicht visualisiert. Da ist Washington Post mit dem Button Print Edition besser

Zeitung gut, app werbeverseucht. Aber das schlimme ist, man kann nicht kündigen, wenn man das passwort vergessen hat.

Das journalistische Angebot der NYT ist gut. Wenn Sie versuchen, Ihr Bezahlabo zu kündigen wird es schwierig. Ich habe letztendlich Paypal untersagt, Zahlungen an die NYT zu tätigen.

Unangebracht für ein kostenpflichtiges Abo.

I love their strong opinions and their views. And I’d love to support great journalism. Unfortunately, I hardly read it lately so I decided to cancel my basic digital subscription. Now I’m desperately trying to cancel my subscription (not through App Store but directly with NYT) but no chance. The chat is non responsive. The hotline is non responsive. I was trying to call with 3 different phones simultaneously. All of them were apparently 7th in line. How is this possible? It feels like scam. I’m furious and will ask my credit card provider to book my money back and deal with them. Why do they ruin their reputation with such poor behavior? Sad.

I guess Im not woke enough to understand the mind bending changes you make. First you unilaterally remove swiping through articles which is how every article is read in any professional program from the New Yorker to well - other newspapers. It's like someone sat down and asked how could they make the reader experience really difficult. Of course the prize goes for those insane ads that are so hefty they literally freeze your scrolling. Honestly, you guys are not very good at this. Sorry, but its extremely poorly designed.

All other newspaper apps I use allow me to swipe horizontally to get to the next article. When the NYT quietly buried its “Today’s Paper” web app, I thought they would introduce the same browsing convenience here. Not so. We’re still stuck with the same tedious experience of having to return to the section page first before we can move on to a new article by tapping again. Disappointing, really.

And constant reloading makes it really hard to scroll through the headlines. It’s not my connection, by contrast the WaPo app is much better. Fix it, please, because the content is great, once one can read it. I have been messing with it now for about 10 minutes without being able to look for the articles I want to read, which prompted me to go to the apps store and write this complaint.

English is not my first language. I prefer to read the NYT in browser, because the app's translation function is disappointing, compared to using safari. If I do not understand a word within the context of an article, I do the right click-search and safari presents different meanings from Oxford dictionary and other sources. The app uses apples dictionary and shows only one and mostly unfitting translation.

Rude awakening today: cannot access the New York Times app that I am paying for, unless I update my iOS version on a fairly new iPhone 13. I don’t want to do that because I use all the apps which I want to continue to use. In other words, though I am a paying customer, the New York Times forces me between a rock and a hard place. That is the opposite of customer friendly.

The App is fine, the content also. I really want to support good journalism. But the Ad load seems to have increased to a level where I cannot enjoy reading the articles anymore. It is not only the massive ad load, but also the loading time of the ads which causes the article to “jump” up and down. If you do not scale your ads back I have to consider canceling the subscription. Best

You know when I play your puzzles, like Sudoku? When I’m at the doctor’s waiting for my appointment. But even though the phone is muted , it BLASTS its happy “you solved it” melody for the entire waiting room to hear. I mean, I’m proud that I solved it, but the rest of the room doesn’t need to know that. And I can’t move on to the medium and hard puzzles because … well, I scared the room already. Please respect the phone’s mute settings. Thank you.

This is rather a news app. I was looking for an app providing the actual newspaper in digital format. Sadly, that does not seem to exist. The app is not bad. However it is not actually possible to customize according to preferences. While there is a section with « preferences » that does not seem to have any effect on what is displayed in the app. That is a pity because the app has loads of content. Mostly really good quality, but not all equally relevant to everybody. It would be really important to organize the cotent individually and intuitively. The way it is now, I got a lot of information of which only a fraction is relevant to me. There is plenty of potential for improvement here!

The app works well. However, it is lacking night mode, which makes it difficult to use at night. Also, there is no way to move the navigation bar to the top of the screen. This would make it easier to use with one hand.

What I find really annoying are the „audio“ articles. I prefer to read the article myself and would just like an option to filter out all of the audio articles. Sometimes I accidentally click on one and then have to frantically look for a way to turn it off.

Like the app, but i don't freaking care who won the Australian open so why put it on "breaking" news. It is so overused and I already disabled everything else. If the queen dies, thats breaking news or if North Korea drops an A-Bomb somewhere. That is what breaking news defines. Don't spam stuff that literally only a small percentage of readers care about to all readers.
