BusyCal: Calendar & Tasks Positive Reviews

Wish for moreI really like it’s format and integration of tasks and calendar. I like it’s flexibility to work with multiple different types of accounts. I wish it would work with the latest iOS reminders better. I was really disappointed when the first iOS upgrade of reminders broke part of how I was using busycal. If it weren’t for that I would give it five stars for iOS and 4.5 stars for the desktop version. If it had the ability to show tasks on the date originally scheduled, but all overdue tasks in the task list bar on the right, and option two complete tasks on yesterday instead of today or the date originally scheduled, I could give the desktop five stars. I wish it had all of the features of goodtask, or synchronized with reminders in a way that would not undo the awesome BusyCal regenerate feature when also synchronizing with goodtask. I wish my chronify Integration could synchronize to a task list instead of a calendar..Version: 3.5.111

The strongest linkMy spouse has Parkinson’s. It is imperative that all meetings, outings & every other occurrences on both of our iPhones, iPads & MacBooks sync perfectly. We have been using the ‘Busy’ software since the beginning. Not only is the software stable, the people who run it are always there for support in a calm and friendly manner even when the answer is not what I had hoped for. Though it can be accessed by & from the three hardware devices I find it best to choose one MacBook as central station using the others for reference & to make quick changes on the fly. The other use for the non-central devices, especially the iPhones, is to take notes on an appointment when developing it, then take the time to fully describe it when at home. The full description is important especially when you consider that when ever you think you will remember what a short-hand will mean later… you won’t..Version: 3.11.6

Fantastic App, but needs an Apple Watch AppSo I have used Fantastical for a very long time and among the many out there, I have been disenfranchised by their massive annual cost increase. So I was looking for a new app. I noticed that SetApp had Busy call in their offerings so I took a look at the app on the Mac. AND I LOVE IT! The user interface in my opinion is so much more beautiful than Fantastical and I love that on the Mac App, the menu bar actually tells you how much time before your next appointment. The only thing I DON’T like is the absence of an Apple Watch app, when almost every app in the App Store has this feature. Hopefully the company is working on this. In the meantime I am using Apple’s default calendar app on my Apple Watch, which is okay, but it’s antiquated compared to Fantastical’s watch app in my opinion. It would be great to know if you’re working on one, but I will still be using your calendar if you don’t..Version: 3.16.5

The best on 2 frontsFor me, Busycal is the best solution for two different reasons. First, I like the available views as they are consistent with how I view my own schedule. I realize that that is highly subjective and won’t be the same for everyone, but it is absolutely the best for me. Additionally, there are enough options to customize the look and feel of the application without there being so many options that you were swimming in a sea of choices and cannot find what you were looking for. Second, I have my own Nextcloud server and I do not use iCloud services. Busycal allows me to define my Nextcloud CalDAV connection directly within the application. This means that I don’t have to create an account in Apple calendars or reminders. It also means that the updates between devices is either instantaneous or near instantaneous. This in-app support of CalDAV was a huge deal for me..Version: 3.11.12

Great replacement calendar app!I don’t like the way the current stock calendar app shows information in month view (it used to do better but at some point was redesigned to be more minimalist). So I replaced it with a 3rd party calendar app that was great for several years until that company switched to an overpriced subscription model that also required you to set up an account with them. That sent me looking for yet another replacement...which eventually led me to BusyCal. This app is great! Easy to use, shows plenty of information on the screen in any given view, and does not require any special logins or subscriptions! Just what I wanted! One thing I’d suggest...get better at App Store optimization. I found this app by reading calendar app reviews on some other websites. This app does not appear if I just search the store for “calendar” (or if it does, it’s so far down in the list as to be useless)..Version: 3.5.98

A little quirky but thoughtful & usefulThings I love: - easy to duplicate and manipulate events - the way to-dos (Reminders) integrate with the calendar itself (didn’t Apple Calendar formerly work like that?). This is incredibly useful to me because I need to see a spatially organized view of my day or week (not a uniform list) but I also like to have my to-dos in the same app, visually distinct but right there. Hard to explain but no other calendar app seems to be able to do this. - how customizable the various views and defaults are - the Mac app, though expensive, is quite nice too Things that could be improved: - on iPhone especially, and especially in portrait position, the vertical list of times along the left side takes up too much space - odd that I have to use app-specific passwords to sync my calendars with this app, whereas other 3rd-party calendar apps are fine just asking me for permission to access them. But it’s ok because I haven’t found any other 3rd-party calendar app that I’d care to use. A bug I noticed: -sometimes when you long press to drag an event, you get an error saying it can’t be dragged; some nonsense like “scroll to the start of the event and long press again.” Huh? Tapping somewhere else and then trying again seems to make it work..Version: 3.3.9

Great app! Couple fixes could help thoAs someone who loves to organize this is the best app on the market (I’ve tried so many). A couple minor issues I wish were fixed; however: 1) on the mobile app on the ‘day’ view, if you drag an event either up or down by holding on the right most part of the event, it automatically moves through the other days (right) when I just want it to be moved up or down. Please fix! 2) on the mobile app, it would be really nice to be able to write in an events ‘note’ section without pressing the ‘edit’ button. I believe you can adjust the dates without the edit button but being able to access the notes without it too would be great. This isn’t a fix per say but would be really nice to have!! Thank you..Version: 4.5.7

Wow, great app!First of all I really liked the app right off the bat from the description and pictures but all the bad reviews made me skeptical. Second, I am not coming from using the Mac version, I started fresh on the iOS first. I am picky on which apps I use and while I liked fantastical and calendars by readdle for functionality, I didn’t like the overlay or look of either. Having used BusyCal I think it has more functionality than the other leading calendar apps, and I haven’t had any issues in terms of stability. This Calendar is powerful and works very well, is highly customizable, and I love the look as well. My favorite part is the to-do integration and how it allows you to filter and sort your to-do’s: a lot of options here! I hope this app gets more positive feedback as I believe it deserves it. Keep up the good work devs!.Version: 3.3.8

Yes. Yes. Yes. 100% BuyHere’s the down low: This one beats them all……….. I usually get super intimate with these apps. Learn more about the devs. Learn about the apps. I’ve had them all. Followed all of them for years. Google cal, Apple, calendars, tiny cal, notion cal, fantastical… and so many smaller lesser-known apps. The month and week view like never before. Shrink and expand as needed. Fluid and fast and responsive. Natural lang. drag or dial for time editing. Can choose which todos go on calendar and when. Overdo carry on to next day or stay. JUST SIMPLY YES! There is no sub. One time payment. Just DO IT! I feel like these folks felt all the same pains I felt with a calendar app. They freakin’ read my mind. ❤️❤️ Note…. Set up is unique for iCloud/apple.. if you’re not techie, just get a friend. Worth it.Version: 4.5.7

Keep developing!!I like this app but it could be so much more... -FEATURE: Choosing and filtering calendars should be quick and easy to do. This could be fixed by making calendars a MAIN BUTTON on the Home Screen of the App that pulls up the calendars. Also, the user should be able to RE-ORDER calendars with an easy drag and drop. They should also be able to GROUP the calendars like on the desktop version. I see this as a no-brainer but a game changer. -FEATURE: Adding an event by voice should be a one-tap, MAIN BUTTON on the Home Screen of the App. -USER EXPERIENCE / DESIGN: they need to hire a good user interface designer to make the app more intuitive and look nicer. It’s pretty powerful but looks dated. (Move the list/day/week/month/to do bar to the top and put an ACTIONS BAR at the bottom -> calendars/ add event/ Filter/ settings). Look at some other nice looking and powerful apps to get inspiration (ie -> Eventbrite organizer app, Lowe’s app, etc) Other features to consider -meeting coordination (look at woven calendar... this app is shutting down but it’s too bad bc this feature is incredible), inbox button, Do not disturb, and so much more Please continue to develop... calendar apps could be so much more than what I’ve seen out there. If you want to reach out to me I would be happy to talk with you. Thank you!.Version: 3.6.2

Prefer iOS ver to iPadOSI won’t take much time explaining why BusyCal on the iPhone is best, but I won’t even touch the built-in calendar there anymore. However, on the iPad, I find it very frustrating to add new appointments, change appointments, and so on. Honestly, I don’t see why this doesn’t function the same as Apple’s Calendar app. I can’t double tap or long press to create a new appointment on a day. So, even though I want to create an appointment on, say, Saturday, I have to tap on the + in the upper right corner and start from square one, always defaulting to an all day event, which means there are many more steps to creating an event that in the Apple Calendar app. Changing appointments requires more steps. I want to be able to simply drag something around on the calendar, but instead I have to edit the appointment and go the Time tab. It’s so unnecessarily clunky, particularly in this day and age. Going back to the stock app. Buyer’s remorse..Version: 3.5.103

Good but no personal O36 SupportI like the interface of BusyCal a lot. I think as a calendaring product, it’s definitely one of the nicest. My issue comes with the fact that I can’t add my personal O365 calendars. They show up fine under the iOS calendar app, but they don’t import into BusyCal, nor can they be manually added. This is really perplexing since it supposedly supports O365 and Exchange... I really wish this would get fixed so that my family calendars would show up. With that change it would be nearly perfect in my mind. Update: support contacted me and explained to use “Exchange” for the personal option (not self-explanatory imo), and this worked perfectly. Back to 5-stars even though I think maybe they could add another option for Personal/Family O365....Version: 3.5.94

Had to come backI took a year or so hiatus from using BusyCal. I switched to Calendars by Readdle. Now that’s it been awhile, I forgot why I even left though. Maybe it was because BusyCal’s iOS app didn’t allow for drag and drop at the time? However, now the new macOS version of Calendars doesn’t even allow for drag and drop, which is crazy for a Mac app. Anyway, I tried to endure for a little while, but eventually had to come back to BusyCal because drag and drop is so important on a Mac app. I was pleasantly surprised to learn they implemented it for the iOS app as well. Shouldn’t have left in the first place. Glad to be coming back to it..Version: 4.4.3

Good but needs workI was using Fantastical for years, but their prices finally forced me to look for an alternative. BusyCal seemed like the best alternative. The macOS app is solid and works exactly the way I need it to work. However, the same can’t be said for the iOS and iPadOS apps. The iOS app has issues with the widgets to the point where they’re currently unusable. (I sent the logs, so hopefully, they get fixed.) Also (and this drives me nuts), you have to keep the iOS and iPadOS apps open in the background for the date badge to update to the correct date. That was not the case with Fantastical. Maybe I’m missing a setting, but I don’t think I am. Also, as others have said, the UI could use a little modernization on all platforms. I’ll keep using it for the time being, but please iron out the bugs..Version: 4.5.7

Nearly amazingI would love to love this app. I definitely love the Mac version. And this iOS one is good. Honestly I don't want to use any other calendar apps because it's so good for so many different kinds of accounts. The only downfall is it's size. I don't mean the app size, I mean the text size. But you can scale the font on the day/week settings you say. Yes, you can. But the agenda works best for me so I'm stuck. But you can scale app sizing in iOS you say. You certainly can. Doesn't work for some apps through, this one included. The Mac one has scalable text size so I'm sure the coding is already written and wouldn't be that difficult to put in here. You do that and you'll not only have a person who will never use any other calendar, I'll tell everyone I can how wonderful this is! Please? Pretty please? 👍.Version: 3.14.4

Inadequate but usefulBusyCal on the Mac is great. I use it nearly every day. However, BusyCal for iOS is woefully underpowered. While it's a useful way to see all of my to-dos at once, or to get an overview of my calendar, the lack of secondary sorting for to-dos (by priority, then creation date, for instance), and the inexcusable lack of BusyCal for Mac's premier feature, filters—where you can show any combination of categories you like instantly—drastically reduce its usefulness. The filters don't have to sync with the Mac; I may want different ones on the road anyway. But this is a crucial feature that has been bafflingly absent from this app for years. If this comes as a paid upgrade or an IAP, fine. But without it, this app is not really more useful than the stock Calendar app, and only somewhat more useful than Reminders..Version: 3.2

Needs a Dark ModeThe brightness is killing me. Needs a ‘Dark Mode’ display to make it more visually relaxing (better contrast) for viewing. See good comments about the desktop version, but I as trainer supporting corporate users I work mainly through iOS because it is with me all the time. The desktop is no longer the source for data. Data is now mobile (everybody now a days has a phone!!) BusyCalc really needs re-prioritize and move their focus to match this new mobile reality. The interface needs to reflect less clunky Microsoft approach to menus and more Apple iOS swipe approach to. For example, why do I need to click on Edit to change the Sync time? Why not just press my finger on the item to access and select the different options?? The configuration of the app is comprehensive, but the interface needs to be updated..Version: 3.3.9

So close…I bought this app, and the Mac app, earlier today. BusyCal requires an app specific password to be set up on each device to access iOS calendars. Kind of annoying since none of my other calendar apps do that, but not a huge deal. But in order to access my work calendar on exchange, which I’m already logged into on my device, I need to log in again through BusyCal. My company limits the number of devices that can be logged in on exchange at the same time so logging in with BusyCal kicks me off my work email account. I’m disappointed because other than that BusyCal seems to have a lot of really nice features, but if I can’t see my work appointments alongside my personal ones then I’ll have to keep looking for another calendar app..Version: 3.6.2

Great app for iOS and MacOS!After using Fantastical 2 for years on my MacBook Pro, I switched to BusyCal. What’s the reason, they moved to a subscription model. I feel betrayed by that company. Additionally, I’ve used WeekCal on my iPhone for 7 years. It had also gone to a subscription model. I did some searching for months and BusyCal has won me over. BusyCal does everything you need it to including reminders built into both platforms. If BusyCal keeps the same business model, I’ll use it indefinitely. If they decide to go to a subscription model, I’ll uninstall on both my Mac and iPhone and go to the stock Apple calendar apps. I’m happy so far and would recommend to anyone..Version: 3.5.97

Capable, attractive, adaptable and powerfulI’ve found this to be an excellent choice for managing my calendars and todo’s. It offers many ways to manage these and is customizable. It has been an excellent replacement for my recently deleted app that changed to a subscription model. So glad I made the move on all my devices. I can’t also say enough positive comments about the excellent support. Outstanding and prompt and able to resolve issues quickly. I have only have two requests I hope will be added soon to make it perfect. First, it needs a companion Apple Watch app. For me this is essential as I often use my watch in place of my phone. On the watch app I hope a month view is included as well. The second is I would like to see a view on the phone that is similar to the view of the menu bar applet used on the Mac. This offers a small monthly calendar with a list of events or todo’s under it. This is a quick and efficient way to scroll through your day or ahead. A long press on a date would allow you to enter a new event..Version: 3.5.96

The best calendar app, hands downI’ve been using Busycal as my main calendaring app for years now. The default Apple calendar is frustrating to use and this app is such an improvement. Like most self employed people, my calendar is my most important tool at making a living and I use this app more than just about any other. There are still features I discover that I didn’t realize was built in. Happy surprises that make it even better. Once Apple allowed removing the calendar app, it was gone and this has been my default on every device I own. iPhones, iPads, and Macs. Give it a week, I guarantee you will not look back..Version: 3.5.111

A Couple of Missing FeaturesI’ve recently migrated away from another calendar app that is currently experiencing a large exodus of customers. As much as I really like BusyCal (I also just purchased the Mac version, after trialing it for a couple of hours.), I reluctantly had to uninstall it from my iPhone because there are two missing features that are essential to me: the ability to search my entire calendar (not just the past 10 years) and custom alerts. I often need to set an alarm two to four weeks prior to an event, and BusyCal only allows up to 2 days prior. Hoping these features will eventually get added. In the meantime, I’ve had to come up with a “Plan B” for my phone..Version: 3.5.95

Great Start BUTI love this app, but its main weakness lies in its dependence on an exterior app. While you can create to do’s in app and rearrange in there, I find it easier to use the reminders app and have it automatically inputted. The problem is that both BusyCal and Reminders are clunky in reordering or prioritizing to do’s. I see that the developers are working on more 3rd party compatibility and I really hope that they will partner with Sorted. Sorted streamlines the organizational aspect of to do’s in a far superior way to either BusyCal or Reminders, but BusyCal arranges those to do’s in a visual way that is far superior, and most importantly, harder to ignore way. These two apps should join forces and become the power couple to power productivity..Version: 3.3.9

Probably THE Best Calendar! But Facelift Please.I have nothing but accolades for BusyCal. I use it on iOS and Mac where I especially love the integration with BusyContacts — a superb application in its own right. My only disappointment with BusyCal — not a criticism, just a disappointment — is that visually BusyCal looks quite old & tired. I’ve been drawn back to Fantastical several times because it’s just so much more attractive. But Fantastical is not as good as BusyCal so I drop it and come back again. Functionality ultimately wins, but form is important too. I’d urge the developers to give the UI a MAJOR aesthetic overhaul and then no can beat you!.Version: 3.8.3

The Best iOS Calendar — User Since 2013I’ve tried the likes of Fantastical and other calendar apps but none can provide the same features as BusyCal. I like having to see clear and concise information at a glance and BusyCal is the only one that can do that. Just with the month view I can see glyphs of the weather, all calendar events, and the ability to adjust the amount of information just by pinching and zooming. While the layout doesn’t appear as fancy as other apps, this one seems to be designed with function over form. I highly recommend using this!.Version: 3.5.93

Pretty GoodI’ve been using this app for almost two years and have found it to be mostly good. I chose it specifically so I could have more control over the colors of tasks. This is very helpful at a glance. I do prefer how they look for an all day task, I wish they were all like that and there was another way to differentiate which were all day. For some reason the to do tasks are not color coded on my phone, only computer. Overall I find it intuitive. My biggest issue and what I would really really like is if the icon had the date like the iPhone calendar does. I find myself flipping to check that icon, and I’d rather just be able to have busy cal icon do it..Version: 3.5.111

Very good startAfter using BusyCal on the Mac for many years, I was glad to see it come to iOS. This is my favorite calendar & todo app on both Mac & iOS. Good: well thought-out layout, with easy access to each view & customization of Day-Week-Month views. Better todo-calendar integration than competitors. Week view scrolls by day (not full weeks) & Month view scrolls by week (not full months) - very helpful near end of the week/month. Needs improvement: While viewing an event, must click Edit before editing some fields, rather than just clicking on the field. Day/Week views should allow creating events by touching & holding at a specific time. Can't drag events to new days in Month view (only in Week view). ToDo view should allow easy selection of which calendar(s) to view, not just how to sort todos on the screen. Fixed: font size setting for Week view (3.04). Replaced date slider with calendar picker (3.1). Create events with touch & hold in month view (3.33)..Version: 3.5.9

Very good! But a couple things I'd like to seeFor the most part I really like this app. I like the month view, and the way that tapping a day expands all the events in it feels a lot better than other calendar apps I've used. There's a couple things keeping this from being 5 stars for me. I don't know if there's a better place to leave feature requests, so dropping them here and crossing my fingers, haha. (1) I wish typing "all day" when creating an event would be parsed and change the event to be all day. (2) I also wish typing something like "tomorrow-Thurs" would make the event all day on both days (or at least give me the option!). (3) Duplicating an event should pop up a calendar to choose when I want to copy it to; it currently just copies to the same day and then it's extra taps to go in and move it. (4) I also wish the Event List and Up Next widgets would show more than just the current day -- ideally the widgets would show as much info as they could fit!.Version: 4.5.1

Please let us sync color coding 🙏It's impressive what you have built with such a small team! Really like this app The dealbreaker for me is that color of events on Mac don't sync with color of events in iOS. I color red events that I can't move (appointments) and yellow for stuff that better get done that week (Deep work, exercise) and green for free time and stuff that I might do (movies, video games, etc). I don't really want to make individual calendars for each color, I see it as adding unnecessary complexity and more points of failure to my system. I need to trust my calendar every time I see it and unfortunately I can't trust Busycal in iOS without color coding. So I am staying with Fantastical. Still, BusyCal is a great app and I wish I could use it. Fantastical already does it (single calendar, individual colors for events across all devices) and works great. I think you'd get more Fantastical customers to move over to BusyCal by adding this feature. Please prioritize this feature 🙏 Thank You.Version: 4.1.0

Efficient, clean, reliable but still missing doorstop teachersGreat program on the desktop but on the I have some complaints.. On the Desktop, In the month view, one can choose to show the beginning, ending, or beginning and ending time for an appointment. On the iPad Pro none of these are available in Month view and require switching to Week view. I run a very busy schedule and find having to flip back-and-forth quite inconvenient and there seems to be enough real estate on the screen to display at the same time. Please reconsider adding that to the iOS interfaces well.Version: 3.3.8

Integrates calendar and to-do’sBusyCal wins over other calendars for many reasons. First, the iPad / iPhone / Mac coordination is perfect. Second, there are relatively few calendars that integrate the calendar and “to-do” functions. BusyCal does a great job of combining the two. Also: I used to think the graphics were just fun. I’ve now learned to use them so that, at a fast glance, I can see what’s coming up in the next couple of weeks. Also: I’ve had occasional hiccups and user support has been fast and first-rate. Zero complaints. I’m a very satisfied user..Version: 3.11.12

Far superior to basic cal and worth the priceAs someone with ADD who is learning to actively manage his time, the standard Apple calendar was a hinderance. It was an effort to go in and reschedule missed items so I would just ignore them and they would fall off my radar. The little features in this calendar make it EASY to quickly move time blocks around… -Love that I can drag/drop calendar entries (across times and dates) -Love that it connects to all my shared Apple calendars (just needs 3rd party password) -Love that it’s calendar + ToDo tasks in one place -Love that tasks show up on calendar -Love that there’s undated, dated, and dated+timed tasks -Love that I can select times using a few different methods (dragging, selector wheel, etc) -Love all the settings and tweaking I can do -Love that it’s NOT a subscription!! (Although I would likely pay a small amount $1/mo? to keep the maintenance going) So much more..Version: 3.7.2

Not exactly like their Mac AppWhile their Mac app is fantastic, I wish the iOS app had me as excited. I have a lot of events that span multiple days and the ios app does NOT move these events to the all day section at the top. Instead they monopolize my entire day making it difficult to read. I wish they acted more closely together to make using more seamless. One other thing…. You have to subscribe to their Mac app monthly and then to use their iOS app you have to buy it. Seems a little bit like an overreach. Apps also don’t exactly sync without you having to manually setup. Work can be done here to make these apps seamless..Version: 3.7.8

Great alternative to Mac Calendar!BusyCal was accepted by my company’s InfoSec IT as a viable alternative calendar on macOS. I decided to actually remove iOS calendar and standardize on BusyCal on my iPhone and iPad. It is MUCH better than native calendar and runs circles around outlook. The only thing I wish they’d address is enabling the icon to show todays date. I leave it running on my MBP because it shows today’s date while running but in iOS, even when running, it doesn’t show todays date. Hopefully it’s in the roadmap..Version: 3.7.6

Great calendar, needs small upgradesThis calendar excels at: - iOS and google calendar integration, events are always synced - iOS reminders integration, being able to pick specific lists to show and others to hide is something that sets this app apart from others - the ability to choose how many weeks are displayed - the clear difference between all day and times events - a beautiful and clear monthly calendar A few upgrades that I’d like to request: - the ability to add tasks from the calendar view to lists that are hidden, but without causing that list to unhide... it’s nice to work from one screen without settings being effected - improved event repetition, several other apps have already adopted options that are more intricate and introduced them in a more user-friendly format, ie: repeat on these specific days every week, or this specific day of the month (I’m thinking about Readdle’s Calendars 5, which is the one thing they really exec at).Version: 3.5.98

Good app, nice compliment to MacOS version. My wife and I use this app on our iPhone 6S Plus for last 2 years and love it. It is a very nice compliment to Desktop version for MacOS. To me it was worth the price of admission, developers are always working on it adding new features and are very responsive if you report an error. If you have suggestions they are also very attentive to listen. Although you can’t expect them to add everything people ask for. All in all a good app and I would say give it a try, especially if you have the desktop version..Version: 3.3.2

My favorite calendar appI’ve tried most of the major calendar apps for Mac and iOS. I keep coming back to BusyCal. It has extensive customizability, and all the features that I need. Fantastical is good, but BusyCal is every bit as good (if not better) for my needs and includes most, if not all, of the extras that Fantastical only includes if you pay the subscription fee, which is a bit on the expensive side. Seamless integration with BusyContacts is also a significant plus..Version: 4.4.1

A couple dumb things…1. When switching from your local time zone to floating time, the hours change back to GMT. If I put in a time and then switch to floating, it should keep the hours and minutes i I’m out originally 2. The “Location” field won’t accept a telephone number or any other type of contact detail other than a physical address. Other than that, it works pretty well and having Floating time - even if awkward - make the app worth having as I travel a lot and my appointments would constantly get messed up..Version: 3.7.1

Very good calendar appI really like this app. I primarily use the list view and the month view. I like that the list view includes reminders - very good feature. But I wish you could set it not show the days that do not have any events. I like the flexibility in the month view to show more or less weeks, but I would also like the option of scrolling a full month at a time with a single swipe, instead of the continuous scrolling. If it had these two features it would be 5-star all the way, But even as it is, it is an excellent calendar app..Version: 3.5.104

Good app, great supportThis and the Mac versions of BusyCal and Busycontacts are 2 of the best apps I have and that I use all day every day. I have used BusyCal (and BusyContacts) on the Mac for some time. Nothing on the iPhone worked have as well, so this iPhone app is wonderful to have. I finally use the calendar on my phone--and its syncrhony (in all senses) with the Mac is a relief. Here, though, I want to emphasize the *immediate,* *competent,* and complete nature of the tech. support this company provides on all their products. Looking forward to BusyContacts on the iPhone!.Version: 3.5.92

Best Calendar AppThis is simply, the best Calendar App, available for iOS. It’s clean and nice to look at, syncs flawlessly, with other Calendar’s and is very easy to use. It also offers sync capabilities with iOS Reminders, which is a must for a Calendar App, in my book. You can quickly add an event or to-do with all the information you need and clearly see the month you’re in, from any screen. If you are looking for a replacement Calendar for your iOS device, look no further, because BusyCal is a winner..Version: 3.2

It syncs w/ Apple Reminders!!!!!I’ve been trying to find a good way to sync my calendar and my reminders app - not a lot of good solutions out there and then BINGO… BusyCal. Even better than getting all my reminder tasks to simply show up in my Apple Calendar apps. The features and display customization make the yearly subscription pretty reasonable. The calendar syncs really well with Apple Calendar and Apple Reminders in case you need to use them. Big fan here..Version: 4.5.7

BEST iOS CalendarThis has been my default calendar for the past year+. After Fantastical and others, and although a bit similar, BusyCal’s support is far and above the competition. Face it, in every application we run into issues. You have a question sometimes? Customer Support will usually get back with you rather quickly. Plus this is a great calendar; easy to use and everything on offer is delivered!.Version: 3.8.2

Sooo much better than Calendar etc.Calendars, To Dos, Reminders, Alarms all wrapped into one intuitive, well thought out and functional app. I love it and rely on it..Version: 4.5.7

I am loving itI’m a longtime user of BusyCal, and before that, Now Up-to-Date on my desktop. I was aware of the BusyCal app for the iPhone and iPad, but figured I was okay with what Apple provides. I took advantage of the Busy App sale and downloaded it during the Black Friday event, and I love it. I find it much easier than what Apple gives us, and I wish I had made this addition to my iPhone earlier. Once again, Busy Apps have outdone themselves!.Version: 4.5.4

The First Calendar I’ve Used That Has EVERYTHINGI’ve tried numerous calendars and had been using Fantastical for the last couple of years. But this Calendar has every feature I’ve ever wanted - from having options of having the month written next to every date (a simple feature, but now I can never mess up), a great month view, and buttons where I can reach them. I’ve just got the Mac app as well, and that is equally brilliant. One thing I’d like to have - a few more App Icon options to fit it with my homescreen design better :).Version: 4.5.2

Great app with one issue on Apple WatchThe app is great and has tremendously improved through all its updates. I was so happy to see it come to the Apple Watch. The app and its complications are really well made. Unfortunately, I discovered that the app on Apple Watch is in English only while I have all my devices setup to use French. I will gladly add the missing star when this is all fixed..Version: 4.2.1

Best iOS calendar appThis app is the best! Smart design Reliable Everything you can ask for.Version: 3.16.10

Love it!I absolutely love this app that has (almost) everything to keep me organized. The only missing features for me would be subtasks (or the option to add notes that can be checked off) and also a widget displaying only my tasks..Version: 3.16.7

Great app. Would love a “next 7 days” set of widgetsApp has a next 3 days widget. Would love a next 7 days widget.Version: 3.16.5

Badges broken?I’m just wondering how the tasks badges got broken since latest two updates… used to only show badges for the incompleted tasks but now no matter if they are complete or not it shows only the number of tasks total, not just the remaining tasks. If I choose “remaining items” it also shows incorrect badge number … I used to like only seeing what I had left to do throughout the day, now it is confusing. Hopefully this will get fixed soon. Otherwise I really do love the app!.Version: 3.16.5

ExcellentWorks very well, and I really like having most of the excellent Mac version’s functionality and flexibility in iOS so I can avoid the (pointlessly divided) Apple equivalents on both platforms. And the brand new Widget choices are great!.Version: 3.15.1

C’est fantastica….Et beaucoup de personalisation.Version: 3.13.2

Version: 3.11.2

Wonderful App but why…Wonderful app but it seems the competitors have been able to access work Exchange accounts without admin approval. Why not BusyCal ? My work Exchange events appear in BusyCal but the events are overwritten with a « busy » title. This is not the case with the other app: Fant…..Version: 3.13.1

Le meilleure pour MacJ’ai travaillé avec vraiment plusieurs agenda proposé sur AppStore et après plusieurs années je peux vous dire qu’il est le meilleur. J’aimerais juste qu’il soit en français..Version: 3.8.2

Stops syncing with google calendar after free trial endsInitially the app uses fine. I liked the idea of managing calendar events and tasks in the same app. A few days after the free trial ends (and I paid for a year’s subscription), BusyCal stops syncing with my google calendar saying “no space left”, which doesn’t make sense, considering my computer has 300+ GB free space..Version: 3.8.3

Time for a changeI have been using this program for YEARS and whenever I’ve needed help, I got it. HOWEVER, I’ve requested help for awhile now as it no longer shares with someone else -who has paid for it- but nobody responds. I just can’t trust it any longer 😤.Version: 3.7.6

Keeps getting better.Update Dec 2020 This calendar app is really very good. Amazing that it is FREE and works on iOS and the Mac! (Not sure about the watch, don’t have one of them anymore). It doesn’t have the natural language like Fantastical, and the syncing between devices is a bit sluggish, but this is nit picking. Continue to recommend. Update Feb 2017. Still my default app, use it all the time. Quite happy with it. A minor issue is that I have location services allowed "always". As I type in an address, it seems to find US locations until I add more info. Not ideal but not a deal breaker. This could be because I live in Canada but I don't think it should be an issue. I'm still waiting for Apple Watch support..Version: 3.5.107

Great but…Very impressed with functionality and simplicity but…. would like to see connectivity with Apple Watch and MS Outlook. When trying to connect with Office 365 app crashes when it goes out for authorization hence 4 stars only..Version: 3.6.2

Great app. Natural Language input can use some workLove the lightweightness and the UI. Tho the input can use some work when entering in Natural Language..Version: 3.6.2

Keeps getting betterApril 2021: Still waiting for iOS 14 time selector to be activated. No need for the spinning discs of silliness to still be the only way to enter time in something other than 15 minute block with the app's sliding window. As one of only a few calendar apps that properly integrates todos/tasks, BusyCal is bringing their incredible app from the desktop to the mobile. Great work! A fifth star will be awarded if they release a keypad date/time selector to replace Apple's frustrating spinning wheels..Version: 3.6

Love the appI have been using this app for a year or two now and I love it. Super customizable and easy to use. The only thing missing now are widget options!!! Widgets please!!!!!.Version: 3.5.111

VersionShould have language choice like French.Version: 3.5.1

A little wonkyI experience a lot of crashes with my older Macbook Pro, and a lot of those are from either BusyCal or BusyContacts. With BusyCal, the Mac slows to almost comatose and notifications keep popping up. Syncing has been an ongoing issue as it’s inconsistent. I get a lot of both duplicate entries AND duplicate Contacts which don’t merge properly or even update each other. So, features needed: - ability to enter tentative dates and a better method of tracking missed meetings. - tie into details for business to track mileage and expenses and allocate them properly - with seeing others’ shared calendars, an ability to “screen” those (i.e. I don’t need to see my spouse’s chiro appt) - in busycontacts, fix the duplicates issue by merging them and only showing one for each person.Version: 3.5.98

BusyCal preferred on Mac but iOS doesn’t offer tasksMac version offers both calendar and tasks (todos) for google but the iOS app can only handle google calendars. It doesn’t offer direct connection to google tasks. I would have preferred using that that relying on the iOS sync plus it enables better separate those lists personal vs work..Version: 3.5.1

Still the bestI can tell you I have literally tried every single calendar app, and this is the absolute best (and no I do not work for the company😂) The ability to have you native todos in the calendar is probably the best point but I also love the way the monthly calendar views the jobs opposed to just having lines. This app is incredibly well thought out and only getting better. I honestly for the life of me cannot figure out how it is not featured more in the App Store or one of the main ones you hear about..Version: 3.5.1

The Gold Standard (IMHO)I've tried so many other calendar apps, both on iOS and on the Mac, and I've never found any other app that ticks so many boxes for me. I remember these guys from when they were Now Contact and Up-To-Date and they have continued to excel with BusyCal (iOS and Mac) and BusyContacts (on the Mac). A great combination of features, flexibility and ease of use. Keep up the good work guys!.Version: 3.5.0

Apple Reminders no more workingNo more works with last Apple Reminders upgrade.Version: 3.5.0

Larger fonts now!!THANK YOU from all of us who wear readers!!!!!!.Version: 3.4.5

So good to have everything integratedI've been using BusyCal and busy contacts on my Mac for quite a while and like them very much. I've just started using BusyCal for my iPhone and it is so amazing to have all my to do's in Reminders sent with invisible in my calendar. Great job, please keep making it better!.Version: 3.2

Love it but...This is a great app. Finally an app that sends email confirmations for meetings to invitees 😎! But it is crashing upon opening in iOS 12.3.1. I think the app updated automatically on my iPhone 8 Plus last night and now I can’t use it. Help!!.Version: 3.4

No Apple watch support3 stars because you are not supporting or letting us know that you are working on it. I need my cal on my watch. I like hands free. Otherwise I would be happy to give you 4 even 5. Otherwise it is a good app. bugs and all. Very customizable. Great options for time zone but not easily understandable. Needs to be simplified. I am not sure if the calendar timezone support is better than event timezone support but it seems they don’t play well together. If you chose calendar timezone support then event support should go grey and vice versa. Great icon library for all events. Flights are also highly customizable but difficult to manage in timezone support. It gets confusing if you have a heavy week of travels covering several time zones. Much better than iCal and flexible enough to synchronize accurately with iCal cloud and giving you so many more options. I am not sure if it can stand alone or not. I need mine to synchronize because it is a work calendar but for a personal calendar, I think it would struggle adding events coming in from outside sources through emails ans SMS i.e. flights, hotels reservations, event tickets, car rental reservations, restaurants reservations etc..Version: 3.3.8

Best Calendar App for iOS & MacLike this to iOS Cal 2.0 — has all the functions / views / customizable settings the native calendar app is missing. Wish List: • To-Do Widget (for quick viewing / checking off items) • Ability to hide weekends in vertical month view • Touch-hold and move events • Edit mode opens automatically when you click an event • Slide to delete events in calendar mode.Version: 3.3.8

Great AppGreat app. Just wish there was more support for Apple Watch. Not all reminders 100 percent hit my Apple Watch. But that is the only complaint. Every thing else is very very good. Thanks guys..Version: 3.3.8

Crashes on open in ios12 fixed in testflightCrashes on open in ios12 fixed in testflight.Version: 3.3.7

Was working great.....?Crashes everytime 1 second after opening since 6pm today.Version: 3.3.7

ExcellentGreat app, as others have said, a widget would be perfect!.Version: 3.1

AGENDA VIEW AGENDA VIEW AGENDA VIEWTHE WEEK VIEW IS UNUSABLE - ADD AN AGENDA VIEW.Version: 3.4.6

Finally!BusyCal and BusyContacts are essential in running my business (I use them as a CRM). I was hopeful that BusyCal for iOS would be closely aligned with how I use BusyCal for the Mac and am delighted that it is. For example, I love the way that my day's schedule pops out as an enlarged window within the week view, including to do's associated with clients, and many of the invaluable granularity elements that I need (and that I cannot easily create within Fantastical) are now at my fingertips. I really liked some of the features of Fantastical but it never quite met my needs. I'm dropping Fantastical in favour of BusyCal for iOS. I am ever hopeful that eventually BusyContacts for iOS will see the light of day soon..Version: 3.0
