Works great, easy to useI have poor vision and had my vision accessibility on my phone set up to provide me with larger display (zoomed in). Originally, I didn’t realize that the app provided volume control because volume buttons did not show up on my screen. After turning off my vision accessibility settings, I realized that there was the ability to control the volume of my television. Idk if the developer can fix this issue but it would definitely benefit those with limited vision to have the volume controls appear on their device display. Still gave five stars because everything else is absolutely wonderful. I actually chose to just leave my vision accessibility turned off (zoomed out) so that I can control the volume. It’s difficult to see or read anything on my phone now, but I use this app every day and decided it was too much of a hassle to keep changing settings. Doesn’t work**updated - After about 6 months , numerous app updates , and 2 IOS updates the app is now working. The app is great now that it works. Really unlocks the potential of this system. Multiple EQ settings and volume control make it super convenient. I love the height feature to adjust, well the height level of the sound especially the satellite speakers. Really lets you dial in your preferences. To be fair using the app works much better than the cheap remote I was forced to buy. I’ve upped my stats to 4 only because of the initial inconvenience otherwise the system itself is excellent. Took off the start because the customer service was just a continuous circle of basic troubleshooting, one guy told me you’ll just have to wait for updates. **
Just spend a few hundred on a sound bar and it sounds ok but you can adjust setting from the app right? WRONG!! App doesn’t work. Live chat basically told me we’ll look into it. So now I have to either buy the Vizio remote which is sold separately or return this garbage and replace it with another brand. The only reason I bought Vizio was because I had one in the past and when the app worked, it sounded great. Totally upset by this purchase only because of the app. It just simply doesn’t work. New Mobile AppI have been a fan of the Mobile app since I bought two VISIO TVs back last October and April. I had a long dialog with VIZIO Support over the app not being able to see my TVs. I have a fairly generic Internet Gateway that connects to the net via a 5G cellular link. I use an in-house router that is a mesh network with one satellite unit. Everything was connected to the net over that router but I after I added the 2nd TV I could not establish a reliable connection over the WiFi network. It presented a message “Not Reachable” on the app. The app just could not see the TVs and so it would not respond. I could not get Support past the notion that something about the app was not right. They insisted it was my network. After we closed the support case I decided to try something I had never done nor was I told to do it by anyone in Support. I connected the 50” TV to my router via an ethernet direct connection to my router and, voila, it worked. For the 32” TV, which doesn’t include an ethernet link, I had to innovate. I bought a USB to ethernet dongle which allowed me to connect the TV to the satellite and that now works as well. Problem solved.
I find the new version of the app to be a bit of a trial and error learning curve so far. I liked the simplicity of the remote control being the “home” screen and the favorite apps on the next button. Navigation was easier. The new idea of putting the favorites on a slider in the middle of the new home screen seems clumsy and more trouble..JerryWJ213Version: 4.0.0
Time to update my reviewMy last review was god-awful the remote was super slow couldn’t get connection. It would constantly disconnect, but over the past year they have improved it an extreme amount, even going to the extent of changing the look of it now in the latest update, which I kind of like but I wish they brought back the remote button feature where you could click the button on the phone and it made it look like the remote, and the swiping feature, I really do miss the swiping feature as well. That was great just some of the UI from the old date needs to be brought to the new update but other than that I really am enjoying it. I have no more connection issues and everything is fast and responsive. PS this is coming from a person with multiple Vizio smart cast TVs in the house. This app controls all the TVs in my home. French and secure having difficulty screen, casting or mirroring, which on your tablet or phone it’s possible you just don’t have the setting set up for the AirPlay so with this app I have installed from VIZIO all that to do is hit the little microphone button and safe set up screen mirror and pull the setting up right away. That makes it real simple. RemoteThe app it self is simple and easy to set up and understand. The one issue I have, the only issues I actually have with this app is the remote part of the app. Hitting the arrows and navigating the tv without looking at the phone. Forget about it, almost impossible. Even when looking at the phone I find it hard to only hit the arrows, I’m constantly clicking into different videos by accident and then there’s that freaking ad at the top of the remote section. SERIOUSLY? Why not just keep the remote section empty and purely for navigating the tv. Why have an ad as big as the remote itself on the same screen? It’s so freaking annoying seeing this I opt out of using my tv to just watch videos on my phone or laptop. I only decided to write this review today because I found myself watching a movie on the laptop because I got annoyed with this app.. Remote UpdateSo I’ve had a Vizio tv for a while now and have been using the previous version of the app. The remote used a swipe instead of tap for the arrow functions (up,down,left,right) which was pretty hard to get used to but I ended up being comfortable with it. The new update removed that and has now gone to a tap instead of swipe. All which is fine and the interface seems less buggy. The only issue I am having with this is where the watchfree and home button are located. They are placed extremely close to the up and down arrows respectively. Since the update, when trying to search for something to watch on an app, I keep accidentally hitting the home button and watch free button which automatically takes you out of that app. It’s just a little frustrating when I feel those buttons could have easily been placed elsewhere. Other than that I have no qualms about the update as of yet and actually prefer it a little over the previous version. At lastI NEVER have to look for the remote ever again, hallelujah 😇 I would always lose the remote in my covers. It would fall behind my bed. Sometimes I would carry it into the kitchen or the bathroom one time I even took it to the car. I don’t know why I think I put it in my purse or matter fact I think I just had it in my hand when I realized it just said it in a cupholder and then it was there for a couple days and I was like this is crazy and when my daughter told me that I could do put the app on my phone and never have to worry about the remote again because I keep up with this phone will the best I can cause I lose that sometimes too, but I can always turn the phone on go to my app watch TV in the bed or turn it on so I can hear the news when I’m getting out the shower or if I forget to turn the TV off in the living room and I’m already up in the bed I have to go to. I want to thank you specifically for all the free stuff it comes with the watch free app on the tv reminds me of like hotel tv. And it’s kinda a vibe to tune into cops, history channel stuff, Gordon Ramsey stuff, bob ross, the walking dead streaming all day long, walker texas ranger, or even the star gazing channel that’s basically a dope wallpaper with a nice ambience or the nature one and cityscape one is cool as well.
Then it comes with free apps and apps that need subscriptions already installed, and y’all recommend movies and right on them it says if it is streaming from an app that is free or subscription based. I watched pulp fiction the other day and once upon a time in Mexico for the fist times the other day because of the recommendation part in the home screen.

A glitch and a couple suggestionsOverall the app works great. needed it to use as a literal remote since our physical buttons tend to become hard to use very quickly.
however, today the app glitched. went to turn the volume up from about 20 to 45, and apparently i pressed the button too many times because it ended up continuing to raise the volume. it continued well past however many times i’d pressed the button. my dad and i tried to stop it for a couple minutes. i continuously pressed the lower button volume on the app, and my dad kept pressing mute, but to no avail. it only stopped when i closed the app.
i went to look around for a place to report a bug and there’s nothing that i could find, so there’s my main suggestion: an easily accessible place in the app to report bugs such as these. it’d also be nice to hold down the volume buttons instead of tapping over and over :P feel like maybe it’d help a little bit in preventing this bug..Strawberry chainsawVersion: 2.7.1
Better than standard remoteFirst - I rarely write reviews unless something impresses me. The Visio Mobile App is one of those that I feel is deserving of a review.
First - having a remote is always at your fingertips via mobile phone. No more searching for the lost remote that magically finds its way into the cracks of the sofa or under it.
I was pleasantly surprised the mobile app was compatible with our older Visio TVs in the house. (5 total). With the OTA (over the air) updates each TV has regularly- ensuring compatibility was forward thinking on Visio’s behalf.
Using the mobile app also ensures no interference with other devices that have IR receivers such as LED strip lighting. This allows us to control the TV without the annoyance of triggering LEDs that start changing colors or blinking in the adjacent book shelves or back-lit LEDs behind the TV.
We have a game room with multiple TVs . The mobile app also ensures that we turn on / off and change the channels and other integrated apps of the correct TV; rather than all three at the same time that are otherwise in the field of view of the traditional IR remote. I have not had the same problems as everyone elseThis app works perfectly I haven’t had any problems with it, one of the greatest things about it is that if one of your family members is watching something and they leave the room you can change the channel without having to go on a hunt for the remote like it is a rare animal or something. There is no free trial for this app either so it is not like those other remote apps that only allow you to use any button by paying, there is one problem though I don’t know if it is like just the iPhone 13 but some of the buttons are at the bottom of the screen snd it will not allow me to scroll down although there is a little bit of the buttons showing so when I tap it i have to be extra careful about where I am tapping.CreublinVersion: 2.7.0
Great App! Great TVI love this TV! It updates all the time, by itself! Every now and again I notice that the volume is in a different style or there’s something new going on with my tv! I can receive videos and pictures from friends and family or I can send them to my television myself! Comes with built in screen savers and oh yeah I almost forgot the games that come with it, that you can play with the remote!! No fancy gaming controllers or consoles just the tv remote! And there are a ton of games in the tv that are free!! I will never buy anything other then a VIZIO TV! Because they are the best!! Free live tv, free movies and free games! Way Better Than Physical Remote!I got this app after I lost my second physical remote (the first died for inexplicable reasons), and I'm never looking back. Both remotes would often not register presses. The only reason I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars is because there is a 1-2 second delay between pressing a button and the action happening. Even though the app registers every press and the delay might not sound like a lot, when you're typing a search term it's a little annoying. Love having access to the speech input Beta, even though it currently only processes simple terms/phrases like "home" and "go to [whatever streaming service]". I absolutely love this app because I can use it to function all the different tvs easily just by selecting which tv at the top.
You can save your favorite tv apps and then power on the tv by selecting your app ie Netflix and it will go straight to that app by simply selecting that app. It has a pop up keyboard so no more having to scroll through all the letters for login, passwords and searching titles . You still have access to all the settings like sleep timer etc. you can do everything that the original remote can and even more awesome things that make it so much easier.
I originally downloaded this as I have LED lights in my room and everytime I would use the tv remote it would change the colors of my lights which was highly annoying.
Now I don’t even use the regular tv remote even if the LED lights are off.
I tried a few other multipurpose tv remote apps but they didn’t have any of these features and also had ads.

Incredible AccessI was yesterday’s years old when this discovery became real to me. We purchased our 75” VIZIO roughly 2 months ago. Everything was going well until our remote control stopped working. My husband, being genius he is called to get help with the remote issues. Resolution in progress, they are sending a replacement remote control 🙌🏾. However, my husband asked for my phone and downloaded the app with all the features of our remote control on my iPhone. If you are reading thisIf you are reading this then you obviously need a remote for your smart TV that isn’t a Roku. After weeks of using this it’s very safe to say this is the best app. I went through a few different ones in the beginning but couldn’t access features I needed to without paying for the premium subscription and found this one. I’m super impressed and enjoy the availability this app has to offer throughout its platform. I still haven’t had a single ad, and wouldn’t be upset if I did. Customer Service needs TrainingI had switched from DirecTv to using internet to watch all of my movies through my Smart Tv. I’ve had my Vizio TV when I had Direct Tv. Unfortunately when I shut down my account with Direct Tv, I needed to reconnect my Smart Tv directly to my internet. I have the old version of Vizio Smart Tv and kept getting stuck when the directions to reconnect stated that I needed to click the menu button on my remote bc my old remote doesn’t have a menu button. I called customer service and even though I explained everything to the gentleman he kept telling me to click on the menu button. Finally he understood that my remote didn’t have a menu button. I didn’t have the app downloaded anymore and my husband didn’t either bc we would just use the Direct Tv remote. The customer service gentleman’s suggestion was to see if anyone in the house had the app downloaded. I explained that no one does. However, if I could figure out how to reconnect my internet to my Smart Tv, I was sure that my Internet would automatically recognize the Tv and vice versus bc keep in mind, we were using this Tv through the same Internet before. Then the customer service guy suggested that I purchase the new remote with the additional menu button or to ask someone in my neighborhood to see if they had a Vizio Tv and use my neighbors phone to connect me. I had company coming over for Thanksgiving and was extremely frustrated bc I basically wouldn’t have a way to access the Tv in the living room. I finally realized that the customer service guy couldn’t help me so I just tried to figure it out myself. I redownloaded the app and gave it some time to recognize my Tv again and voila it did. I’m still surprised that the customer service gentleman didn’t know this himself. I wasted an hour dealing with a representative that hadn’t been properly trained. On top of it all I still cannot believe he suggested me to allow a neighbor access to my Tv. It definitely didn’t feel like a safe suggestion by trying that. NEW UI makes my TV slowThe last firmware update makes my TV Vizio slow.
I have two (V505-G9) and (D40f-G9) both smart tv.
Both of them get really slow after last firmware months ago.
I understand Vizio needs sponsors to get a income.
But the last firmware has a lot of ads.
I giving you 3 stars cuz I found a way to watch Local TV channels without use (Watch Free+) using this app.
I do not understand why Vizio developers wants to force their customers to use (Watch Free+) to see local tv channels.
Today I talk with “Joan” agent and his solution is to unplug and plug back every time the tv gets slow.
That is not a solution. Vizio developers should let Vizio users to choose (Watch Free+) or not. And also let Vizio users to uninstall apps.
Or better try to fix and release a new update solving those problems about why some TVs units get slow.
Today I got an outage internet service in my area.
And I need to go to settings and forget WiFi to use the TV.
Cuz (Watch Free+) and (SmartCast) get in an infinite loop …. message saying loading……
If this persists probably I will return this TV that I got on BestBuy.
I was so happy when I bought it months ago but now is very frustrating see it running too slow.

A few functionality issuesThis app works fine until they change something which completely screws up the app. This happens semi-frequently, enough to be annoying, but not enough to stop using the app. Although I will say, I do like the idea of a remote on your phone instead of having to search for the physical remote every time (which I usually cannot find).
However, that doesn’t take away from the flaws this app has. Multiple times, when I open the app, it immediately closes, and this goes on for about 2-3 times. In addition (and this is VERY annoying) some of my ‘favorite’ apps DISAPPEAR and I have to re-add them EVERY TIME. For example, I currently have 7 ‘favorite’ apps. When I re-enter the app, 4 of them will have been ‘un-favorited’ and I have to go back to re-favorite them..WinterthesprinterVersion: 2.5.6
Good basic remoteAs a basic remote option it’s workable and was very easy to set up and use right away. That being said it’s missing several buttons that would be very useful to have, and with how big they made the direction pad on the app they could easily shirk it to half the size and have room for more functionality. Top two edits I would suggest is allowing users to edit what fast launch app buttons are on the top row, I use zero of the default options and wish I could change it. Also having a fast forward and rewind buttons should be standard on all remotes in the modern streaming era, so the fact that both the physical remote and the app are missing those buttons are a major oversight..Just_Testing_Things_OutVersion: 4.9.0

Pump up the featuresIt’s a great app for this SoundBar. However it could be much better by reviewing the layout. Here are 3 main points: 1. Provide a direct link for Audio settings on main window. 2. Make the audio confirmation volume set to or by the volume control because it is extremely inconvenient in the middle of the night to hear “connected” loud. Also the app should command to the device it’s linked to show when it is connected. 3. Enable to manage Height volume for Front and Rear Speakers separately. 4. Made it so much worseThis used to be moderately decent app, but ever since this last update were they make you login with a VIZIO account EVERY TIME YOU TRY TO USE IT. It’s gotten so bad, then I have to decline whatever privacy agreements they want me to sign to use their WatchFree+, which I never plan on using. Especially on my phone since the only time I use this app is when I’m at home. Making things worse, when it was first implemented it broke my app for three or four days almost cause me to buy a whole new non vizio TV just to circumvent it. I don’t know why this app was made significantly worse and honestly, I’m not gonna buy a Vizio as my next TV which now I’m in the market for.
A simple solution would be to not require a login unless I wanted to use the watchFree+. Ask once and then save the answer and not ask every time I’m trying to just turn down the volume in MY TV. None of this is necessary to use a Wifi remote, you don’t need anymore information other than my wifi an IP address for me to use it. And now I feel like I’m trying to be tricked into accepting a privacy agreement for a service I never wanted. Please I’m begging you to fix it. They Removed the Menu Option that Appears on Your Phone…Why???I don’t know why they would remove the option to see the menu of the TV on your phone? It made navigating 10x easier and faster. I’d be willing to bet almost every user would prefer or at least agree that having the menu appear on your phone is more convenient than having to stare at your TV while touching a flat surface not knowing if you tap the correct button. The actual TV remote is tactile as there are physical buttons for each function so you know what to press without looking while a phone is glass and you have to assume you’re tapping the right button. It’s ridiculous that I’m even leaving a review about this but it makes zero sense why you would remove it. Even from a developers point of view, if it was already implemented why not just leave it. At the very least you could have given us the option in settings to have the menu appear on our phone or on the TV. PLEASE, implement that option again because holding a button for 15 seconds just to get the brightness up on my TV because the TV software can’t process such a simple command is absolutely not it. I was able to adjust any setting to any value I desired in 5 seconds or less and it would be immediately implemented on the TV and I never once had to look at the TV while I did it. I only saw a few reviews with people mentioning the same thing but I really don’t know how there isn’t more people commenting on this. I implore you guys to create a survey regarding the ease and functionality of the previous TV menu that appeared on the phone vs it appearing on the TV if you guys don’t believe it’s better or, again, just give us the option to pick for ourselves in settings. New Remote Design Is UselessI guess I need a manual on how to use the new app design! It looks exactly like my actual TV remote which is useless most of the time as well! I loved the old app design - I could control everything I needed to, now I must be too dumb to use or understand how to use it to control my TV. I can control the volume and any smart app or input I want to…. But I just want to be able to change the dang channel! I have always had it paired with my TV and our Dish provider; I could operate all functions right from my iPhone. I just need the instructions on how to operate my TV (change the channels) on this stupid app! If I’m on channel 241 and want to change it to channel 3 - how do I do that from this updated app? There are no numbers!!! Yes I see there is a keypad option - but it will not change the channel on my TV - I have tried!!! Am I supposed to use the voice control? Absolutely AWFUL product, down to the television itself.Vizio TVs are quite literally the WORST televisions I and my mother have ever had. EVER. The remote app is just as, if not worse than the television itself. These are awful products, do not waste your money. The TVs disconnect from wifi out of nowhere, won’t turn on sometimes, will turn back on by itself after I’ve turned it off, will force close apps out of nowhere, will get stuck in an app and refuse to exit, and a plethora of other things. The remote app doesn’t even open half the time. It will open and immediately close. It will log me out when I was just logged in and utilizing it. It will say it can’t connect to the television even though both the television and my phone are connected to the same wifi which forces me to restart my phone to get the app to work and EVEN THEN it’s a 50/50 chance that will be effective. These products are awful. My mom and I have had Vizio TVs since 2021 and we’re waiting for the day they completely go out to by another brand. Worst app and products.I have always had issues with needing to reconnect my soundbar with the app at least once a week over the 2 or 3 years I’ve had it, but now it won’t connect at all. First off, the whole “your soundbar will create a temporary wifi network for you to connect to” thing is terrible. Even when I connect to it, my phone shows that it has no connection. I leave it “connected” anyways and go back into the Vizio app and then it says it’s trying to connect, or something like that. Then, if it actually gets to the point where I can connect it to my wifi network, I punch in the wifi password and it just says, “Testing Connection” for a couple minutes, until it says it couldn’t establish a connection, and tells me to reconnect to my soundbar’s wifi, which no longer shows up in my phone’s WiFi section. My WiFi is great. Not a single other thing in my house has trouble connecting. Volume issueAny time I tape the volume button, even one light tap, it goes out of control. Either turns all the way up or all the way down and keeps clicking. Turning tv off does not help. The only way to correct is to
delete the app and reinstall. I used to have to do this about once a week since it got the tv in Dec. it got to the point where I had to delete and reinstall app
daily and now it’s everytime I use the volume buttons. Up or down. I think I’ve reinstalled about 6 times in two days. I cannot use volume buttons at all today or it happens. So it’s off to hunt for my long lost remote or

Requires Bluetooth, STILL cannot find sound barI got my TV and surround sound about 5 years ago. The sound bar absolutely would not pair via Bluetooth (Customer service tried but could not help). I connected via a wire and have been using the bare bones remote that came with it (the real remote was a phone app). Still having to reset and/or relink since then, and seems easily confused by the only Bluetooth app I use, which is only every month or two. And the sub woofer passes the test but has never functioned while viewing. So I do not use Bluetooth and do not trust it with this tv/surround sound setup. I thought I’d try the phone app just to control power and sound level (I use my Roku remote for these as well as streaming since I didn’t care for the smart cast app). Only to find out it only works via Bluetooth. It can detect the TV and turn it off via WiFi; cannot turn back on without Bluetooth. Cannot find surround sound at all, even with Bluetooth enabled. If you’re looking to buy Vizio.. Don’t.Countless issues on issues. Whether it’s the Vizio app, my Vizio 2020 V-series or my Vizio surround sound system. Let’s start with the app. I am constantly having to reconnect my devices. Most of the time there is a connection issue and the app is unusable. Not allowing me to change ANY setting on my tv or sound system. When I am able to change the settings, it is VERY glitchy. The bars will stutter back and forth. The tv itself is a great. 70in, great quality. But having to connect it to the app constantly is extremely frustrating. Even with a remote, I am constantly having issues. When I turn the volume up, the back button clicks. When I turn the volume up, the volume turns down. When I try to rewind on a show, the volume changes rather than rewinding. The surround system itself is also great. Crisp and loud. But when pairing, which is constant. There is a EXTREMELY loud connecting noise that shakes the entire room if not pressed quick enough. I don’t want a Walmart accountI wanted to gain more control over my Vizio soundbar so I could tell it shut up. That is not a feature of the remote controller that came with the soundbar and was designed for the soundbar. I have had to consult AI after my internet search results came up with Nothing. Terrible updateThe new layout update has made this app useless. Whenever I press input it now says I have to re-pair my tv to app. When you go through the steps it just keeps saying the same thing over and over. Strange thing is I can control the sound and channels the only thing I can’t do is change input. The last version I could at least tap the remote option to change to the visual style of old remote and was able to change the input.

Best Feature Removed, Now UselessI have used this app literally everyday, multiple times a day, to change the picture settings from the convenience of my phone without disrupting the picture on the tv screen. Most of the day the light is pleasant in this room and the tv doesn’t need to be fully bright, then just before sunset the sun comes right in and the tv needs to be brighter. And after dark we try to limit our blue light and change settings again to warm and low brightness. Now I have to do that on top of the picture on the screen to the inconvenience of my family watching a movie, or playing a game. The menu being on the phone was the only reason I used this app. I will no longer be using the app without this feature.
And on the tv you have to go left/right through a bunch of settings instead of just quickly selecting from the list of saved picture settings on the phone. Not ReliableI use this app to control my kids’ tv remotely especially when they’ve fallen asleep with their tv on. I just spent my early morning trying to turn off one tv with this app. I’ve deleted the app itself, re-added all tvs to no avail. While I was able to connect to one TV, the other was just not working properly. I was able to use all remote functions, but just could not power off that particular tv. I unpaired my device to then find out there is no option to re-pair the device and the auto pop up never even came. Vizio soundbar app pairing is horribleI’m not sure what this thing is trying to do but it utterly fails. I purchased two sound bars and they work great, but the Vizio app is really bad. My experience has been that I had trouble getting the soundbar in Access Point mode, but once connected, it asks me to pair. It finds the soundbar and then asks for WiFi for info (not sure why since it’s plugged into the LAN), I say ‘skip’. It realizes it’s actually connected and looks for updates. The sound bar says it’s up to date, and then the app re-enters pairing mode and won’t let me actually pair. It’s like the app ‘requires’ the sound bar to pair over WiFi and will not recognize a hard-wired config. I’ve tried pairing it via WiFi too only for it to not be able to connect to a hidden WiFi, even after putting the connection info in. It would also be great if I didn’t have to pair over WiFi. Additional info. The app doesn’t connect to my soundbar longer then a few seconds making it almost impossible to change the settings. The speaker often turns on, but wont produce any sound and my tv just says it is not working when this happens. This is a daily issue that the only solution i have is to yank the power cable and try again. Very frustrating when it takes multiple tries of yanking. Log in requirement is so frustratingLook when the app works, it’s great and I love it. What’s frustrating is the need to log in at times, and then if we ignore it and just try to use the buttons on the back of our tv or replace the batteries in the physical remote (which seems like the five millionth time btw,) the app eventually bypasses the need to log in randomly and works again. Now I’m having to just use aircast and killing my phone battery to stream content because my remote batteries are dead, again, and the app refuses to log in to any account created or allow me to bypass logging in just to use the remote. Works about 10% of the timeI don’t usually write app reviews, but this one has caused me so much frustration that I need to write this one. I simply can only get it to work about 10% of the time. My TV works fine with a physical remote, but not the app. It’s not my phone, because I got a new one and I’m still having the same problem. It’s not Wi-Fi because the TV is blaring away, streaming using it. But for whatever reason, the one thing not working is this specific app. I did call support and they walked me through everything they had at their disposal and it didn’t help.

Working hard to make their App & TVs worseNow I need to create an account to use the basic functions that do work. Just to demonstrate how incompetent Vizio is, they write a response about how this will enhance their software functionality. About the new updateNew update recently remade the remote design. “Now easier to use with one hand.” Wow. This update was a massive step back. I loved the old design because it allowed me to swipe in whatever direction instead of having to look at my phone, tap, right, for example, and then look back at the tv. I can move in any direction and hit ok without looking at my phone.
The new update also removes some buttons. No clue where they went and why they thought removing buttons would make it “easier to use with one hand.”
Worst of all, they added promotions on the actual remote itself. Like what… How does a company stoop so low that they add ads on the remote itself. Sounds petty but there’s an entire section for promotions like that. But they decided to put the promotions on the remote section as well? Respectfully, do you think doing that will bring more attention? This app was beautiful. Didn’t always work perfectly but having a remote in my pocket was definitely worth it. But they’re slowly turning into those third party apps that force you to watch ads.
In conclusion.. the update led me to the conclusion that Vizio thinks their consumers are idiots. Yes, idiots. Not good enough to merit more effortThe connectivity and buffering has been awful since day one on 2.4 and 5GHz on a parallel 1gb line with a wireless router that supports upwards of 300Mbps. Updates don’t happen, support can’t offer a solution, and I’ve even prioritized it on the network. None of the other devices had or have an issue, mobile devices, laptops, Apple TV, even when nothing else is connected the Vizio buffers and buckles frequently. It is barely worth keeping, however it was convenient to have a remote on my phone. They now require an account to use this “service”, you’ve got enough of my information and I don’t care in the slightest about your promotions and I have no desire for you to contact me, so I’ll be sticking to the remote and switching to a different manufacturer on my next purchase. Used to be great, not anymore…This used to be the virtual remote by which all others are judged. Not anymore. Around a year ago Vizio altered the app and it’s been all downhill from there. It is actually LESS intuitive, user friendly and reliable than it used to do. If you have multiple Vizios it constantly, inexplicably shifts between them without any action by the user resulting in random TVs getting turned on and off or channels changed in other rooms where others are watching on a different tv. UsabilityWhen I first started using the Vizio app in 2022, everything worked perfectly—it was smooth and reliable. However, lately, it’s been a constant source of frustration. Enjoyed it at firstI just got my new Vizio tv last week and all was good until they updated the app design. I was able to swipe directionally on the mobile app and it was really convienent and then 2 days ago they changed the design so you have to look at your phone and tap the direction you want to go instead. Account for TVI find it ridiculous that I have to make a Vizio account and/or download the app just to use my TV. Because now Vizio has access to my email, name and who else knows what type of information. Which then (like every company) sell that info which warrants more scam calls, junk emails etc.. Do not download this app.I have had this app for multiple months because I’m clumsy and lose my TV remote all of the time. recently I haven’t been using it so I didn’t see the big update that had happened. this big update ruined the entire app. First of all I have so many problems trying to connect to a TV even if it is on it will say it’s powered off. When you finally do get connected to the remote, it doesn’t work, but for only one or two clicks on the remote. This is not useful.
