In Response to the 1 Star Review...This game is absolutely free to play and a record of 12-18 for someone who just started playing against a field of players who are already “so ahead of me because they’ve been playing so long” is pretty fair. There are lots of options to play the game against AI that provide great rewards (even for those of us who’ve been playing since closed beta) The developers have created an excellent game that continues to grow and get bigger. The only things that require you to spend real money for premium currency are cosmetic, and they’re pretty cheap too. As the card pool gets bigger, new players will obviously be at a disadvantage, but there are plenty of decks to choose for competitively playing and having fun, and some of the most effective decks (aggro mostly) are very cheap to build. There will be games that you just can’t win, and there will be games you lose because they draw something dumb off the top, or because you mess up. That’s how card games are. If nothing else, you should give the game a fair shot and decide what you think for yourself. The community itself is very helpful and active, and this game is only going to get bigger..This review system is garbageVersion: 1.27.6

The best online CCG out there.As the title says, I believe this is the best online collectible card game out there. The main reason for this is the sheer amount of free stuff you can get just for playing. Every day you get a free pack for just winning a game. There’s a free-to-enter game mode against the AI that gives you a bunch of free gold. There are 2 separate draft modes, and unlike many of the draft modes in other games, you get to keep all of the cards. You get free gold and cards for just winning ranked games, and assuming you get to master at the end of the season (which is SO much easier than other games due to the ranking system), you get a free foil legendary every month. I’ve been playing for 2 or 3 months and I’ve already amassed all of the commons and uncommons as well as 150+rares and 40 legendaries. In addition, it has very good gameplay, with unique mechanics and many similar to that of Magic: the Gathering. (Considering multiple professional Magic players helped design it, that makes sense). Overall, I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who is looking for a new CCG to get into..EpthopperVersion: 1.29.1

An Enjoyable Mashup of Magic and HearthstoneEternal is an enjoyable CCG that combines the best card playing elements of Magic: The Gathering with the online automation of Hearthstone. It has just enough differences to be refreshing in its own right. The artwork assets are very good, but not quite up to Blizzard levels. However, most of the artwork, animation and sound is very cool and effective. There are more single player activities than in Hearthstone. The makers of the game supply a generous amount of card packs and coins for playing parts of the game like daily quests, puzzles and tutorials. At the moment, you get a free pre-made deck to keep every 3 days, with a daily quest to accompany it. Multiplayer is standard fare, mostly comparable to Hearthstone. Crafting cards is comparable to Hearthstone also. The game mat is updated with totems on the sides relating mostly to the color of the power sigils used. The micro-transactions are not really necessary if you play the game a lot. Your gameplay activity is synced between your PC/Mac, iPad, iPhone or other tablet or smartphone. Great Digital CCG and actually free to enjoyI have been playing Eternal since February and I still go back and play it every day. It’s an intuitive card game, similar in some ways to Magic the Gathering but with its own take on the genre. Games are snappy and exciting and you never know what you’re going to see on ranked ladder play. It is generous with handing out rewards and cards - you get a free pack of the latest set each day and the other game modes make it easy to accumulate cards from all sets. You can play vs the AI for free and use the rewards to play other modes that give out cards, packs, and more gold to keep playing. Draft mode is amazing any my favorite by far - you make limited sized decks that encourage creative deck building and play and you keep all the cards you pick! I have spent money on this game to support the amazing developers, who are quick to fix bugs and also interact with players on the Discord channel but I’ve mostly used it for cosmetics and have accumulated almost the entire first 2 sets. Simply amazing.This card game is is absolutely fantastic. It has loads of content from campaigns, to new and old card packs, new boards you can play on, card backs, avatars and of course the large card pool. The developers have made this game very generous with the rewarding you constantly. Whether you are just playing against a.i or real players. You’re getting rewarded. It plays similar to magic with some hearthstone but it’s risen above both those games. I’m a multi year hearthstone player, but I’ve taken a long break from it and during this break I stumbled across eternal. I’ll tell ya after playing this game, I won’t be going back to hearthstone. This is without a doubt a free game worth spending some money on to help the developers, this is f2p done right! There is so much more to write about(like amazing card art, mechanics, cross-play/cross-save between every other platform(this feature alone deserves parenthesis inside parenthesis), etc), but I kinda just wanna keep playing some matches and building decks. Fantastic card battle game, One idea for it:I don’t write reviews, but I just stumbled upon this game and it is too good for me not to throw out my thoughts. Battle mechanics are outstanding, and there is plenty of card combining to tinker around with to make it really fun every match. The main reason this game appealed to me is because you don’t have to play pvp, there are modes that allow you to just play against the AI. Not only do I not like pvp very much in games, but I’m hardly in a place of stable WiFi nor do I have time to complete many games at a time. I have just one hope that there could be one additional mode for single player vs AI, and that is that I would really like to be able to just do a single match, one not part of a multiple match ladder like the Forge and Gauntlet offer. That would be helpful for quick deck testing. Other than that, sometimes when I leave the game on account of needing to attend to something external, I can sometimes return to the app and pick up in the game I was in, but sometimes it results in a loss, which is a little frustrating when I’m far along in Gauntlet with an underperforming deck I’m testing. I don’t know if there’s anything that can be done about it but it does bother me a little. All in all, this is a fantastic game, one which I am now even downloading to my Nintendo Switch as well. Fantastic, Free, FunI am a big fan of Dire Wolf, and a lot of my money has been spent on their products. I’ve even bought all three Clank! versions (if you are unfamiliar with DW’s board games, look them up, they’re amazing!). I bought the Root app, which is widely considered the epitome of physical to digital conversions. And now I’ve downloaded Eternal… but have not paid a dime for it! I’ll no doubt end up buying a campaign at some point, which from what I gather will set me back $10, using real life dollars to purchase in-game currency (gems) to spend in their store. But I’m currently more than half way to earning enough gold within the game as an alternate way of buying a campaign, just from battling for free. I don’t love fighting real humans for some reason, though I have more wins than losses currently, and mostly play the “Gauntlet” - the series of increasingly difficult matches - in an attempt to earn larger and greater prizes. I’d say that the Gauntlet does reveal some of the frustrations common to this sort of online collectible card game, as towards the end, the AI uses not just “Legendary” cards, which from my calculations I would have to spend $29 to reliably obtain, but whole mechanisms that are as yet unavailable to me. But, I do believe that’s what your signing up for when Gauntlet-ing. So far other human players haven’t unleashed unbalanced hurt upon me, which I am thankful for. Great, completely unbalanced gameAwesome game, but the balance on this game is way off. There are wayyyyy too many instant-kill cards and accelerators out there, without ready ways to counter them. I know going into pretty much every game that the moment I play most any creature, it will be torched or nullified with silence, or turned into a frog, or crippled, or any of a number of other maladies that only cost a couple of “power”, if not just one. Late-game unit abilities are also off-the-charts awesome, in ways that make me enjoy the game less. Legendary units have a bevy of abilities that instantly shift momentum if the game manages to go past 5 or 6 turns. The animations and overall presentation are top-notch, and I do play a lot. You get free cards and packs with regularity, and the crafting system gives you a great way to utilize duplicates. As an avid MTG player, I will tell you that I play this instead on my mobile devices. I just wish that the balance could be addressed and that the number of ways you can control the board through direct damage and kill-cards would be reduced. To the 1 star reviewThis game is very generous in giving you cards. They talk about you should be winning on your skills not paying for the cards, and they weren't kidding!This game is the least amount of "Pay to Win" I've ever seen! Your first win of the day is a booster pack! Compare that to Hearthstone where you need to win 3 games to get 10 coins and a pack is 100 coins. Additionally each pack comes with craft stones as well. Sure you can easily accelerate the collection process by buying all the cards, but being able to draft and keep your cards or play Forge (Arena in Hearthstone but with only AI opponents and you keep the cards you pick) makes the "grind" feel less of a grind and more fun. Hell most times I value draft, and just look for mythics and cards I want for my deck. Even the pre constructed decks they give you can get you to at least Silver in ranked matches. Amazing game, a few things to work on,Still a 5Overall the game plays well, is fun, complex and gets frequent enough new cards and balance fixes that the metagame never gets stale. As far as freemium card game options this reward system is by far the most generous and the gameplay is fun at all levels from weird brews to competitive decks. I'm rating it 5/5 stars because I think there are a few quality of life improvements that would take this game to the next level but overall you won't really find a better iOS compatible game in this genre. 1. The shuffler never seems to quite be where I'd like it to be. I end up either flooding out or getting color screwed in almost every game. I don't think a 3 color deck should be a big ask when playing appropriate fixing and I'd love to be able to go lower than 25 power cards to prevent this from happening. 2. The game needs to download an exorbitant amount of data almost every week in order to keep playing. This really gets in the way of enjoying a quick game here and there when you get blocked by an update that's going to take 20 minutes to download and will reset if you exit the app. 3. There are no new puzzles for new battle skills/features that were introduced in the last two sets. These puzzles really helped me understand how mechanics work at a deep level like combining deadly and overwhelm, silencing a creature with a permafrost to unfeeeze it etc. turns out if you get a card from your market it counts as drawing it so it triggers echo, fate and other effects which I think should be included in new puzzles. 4. Finally, a F2P friendly CCGThis game is by far my favorite online CCG. The gameplay is a lot of fun (MTG style combat) and the polish is really good too. (voice acting, animations, sounds, art, etc) and the best part? You don't really need to spend any money to have fun. As long as you aren't playing in the super high and competitive ranks, the meta isn't all that influential. Unlike Legends of Runeterra, you can do stupid stuff in this game and make it work. I’ve built several decks that are a lot of fun and are mostly pretty decent, (some are just memes) and I didn't need to spend a dime to do that. Now, if you play super competitively, you’ll need to make a meta deck and maybe spend some money, but I haven't run into any of that yet. My only major complaint is that the shuffling algorithm sometimes doesn't work all that great. I used to get screwed 2/5 times and flooded another 2/5. That doesn't happen as much now and I can't tell if it’s because of the addition of the plunder mechanic, I got better at building decks, or because they fixed it. This is more of a nitpick, but I wish there was a little more variety in the animations and that some (especially kill cards) were a bit more dramatic. Wouldn't it be cool if units dropped onto the board instead of warping in? (that said, some of the newer spells do have unique animations).SirBaconBusterVersion: 1.53.0

A few problemsI doubt the devs will ever see this, but i only have two problems to this game. The first is that your deck must have a minimum of 25 power cards no matter how aggro you want your deck to be. I’m sure that is to prevent people from playing 2 power cards and mulligan every time to draw both, but I feel that anyone with a deck of 73 2-drops won’t win many games. The second problem had two parts. Legendaries are too expensive and influential. I’m sure everyone here was destroying in a game, then the opponent played one Sandstorm Titan, and then they lost. The power level of legendaries is hard to balance because you want them to be powerful and change the way the game is played, but I have noticed, the deck that summoned more legends won a great deal more. Made by the bestThis game was designed by people who know how card games work. It is in essence very near a perfect electronic card game. Where hearthstone takes advantage of the frustrating mechanics of random number generation, eternal takes advantage of stat effects that normally people couldn’t always keep track of. Using the computer as a source to keep track of complex interactions, this game excels in keeping things easy for the players while still giving you a sense of how complicated the game can be given the right scenario. Many lines of play lead to victory, many lead to defeat. The one thing the game may need improvement on is the weird touch screen interactions that make it awkward to block against attacking creatures. I’ve played every card game. This one is FAIR and FUNI never written reviews. So many bots and Chinese probably ruining ratings anyway. But I’m writing this cause Eternal is a really good game. I’ve played them all: Magic, Hearthstone, shadowverse, Duelyst, even Slay the Spire. Of all these games Eternal is the DEEPEST and FAIREST. There’s not just campaigns and ranked/casual. There’s organized pvp events. There’s pve Arena from Hearthstone and pve 7 boss gauntlet. You can earn tons of cards and gold just from pve. The game does not push you to play pvp so you can lose and buy packs. Economy: Gold is really easy to get. The limiting factor is dust. But you get so many packs and each pack contains 8 cards and 100 dust. Same as Hearthstone: 25, 100, 800, 3200 crafting costs. This game is like magic in that it has Land cards and 4 copies per deck. You can even have 4 legendaries. So for that reason it takes longer to grind. The game is incredibly fair and I am very well versed in micro transactions. I have a massive and full collection and I’ve never spent a penny on card packs. Only on campaigns, which give you like 25 cards. You can even buy premade decks which contain decent cards with gold. Cons: due to low playerbase even Bronze 3 has meta decks and veteran players. Lots of people forfeit to stay in bronze too so they can farm gold. And it’s annoying..SuperCPA123Version: 1.46.6

Stunningly BeautifulI write few reviews, but this game has earned one. Having played many others (Magic, Hearthstone, Legendary, etc.), this game blows all the others away. The graphics, colors, animations, sound, gameplay, intuitive UI, lack of in-your-face ingame marketing- - all wonderfully done. I play hours each day and wish I had time for more. Eat your heart out MtG/Yugioh/Puke-a-mon...I'll be brief. I have over 24 years of experience with TCG/CCGs. I've played dozens and even took a shot at developing one. This one is the best I've played on a mobile platform. Period. Outstanding game! The best feature? You don't have to spend a dime to continually challenge your wit. I recommend that you do so anyway so you can access more combos sooner during your progress. Great art, great story, great mythology, awesome music and sound, and superb user interface. My only complaint is on how the decks are edited. I have big fingers so I wouldn't mind a prompt before a card is added or taken out to make sure I don't make a mistake and have to go through looking for the card I mistakenly moved. Best card game aroundDire Wolf digital does just about everything right with Eternal. I’m a huge fan of card games. I come from a background of M:TG, hearthstone, SolForge, Duelyst, Gwent, and more I’m not listing... Eternal beats them all. And it really isn’t even close. The gameplay mechanics feel rewarding and fair. The lore and flavor of the card and characters is abundant. The single player vs AI modes are entertaining and mostly story driven. Most importantly, the cards are very attainable with fair drop rates and the game will not puncture a hole in your wallet. This game deserves every single 5 star review it gets... and every single review SHOULD be 5 stars. I would like to see in client tournaments in the future at some point but the communication is very active and sets up out of client tournaments for its player base should you like to join..SKiTHxVersion: 1.27.7

Pretty much the best free ccg out thereI love this game. It’s about as close to Magic the Gathering as you can legally get. It has a complex and diverse range of strategies. The mechanics are not as deep as mtg, but definitely better than Hearthstone or Elder Scrolls. The price is also excellent. It’s actually FREE to play. The game has multiple methods to make card collecting easy and fun, including a grinder mode called gauntlet to play against the AI, practicing your builds at your time leisure. There are both sealed and draft formats. If you ball out with drafting you can quickly and freely mass your collection, because the winnings are more gold than you paid to enter, plus ~7 packs. Pure PotentialThis game could be so great! Unfortunately, the developer is intent on watching end users be infuriated as they likely sit behind the scenes laughing at you. Power cards are either few and far between or completely non-existent; and even with a solid deck, the abundance (or lack thereof) power cards make it too difficult to survive once you have been able to establish your presence. Even the few times that you are able to achieve balance, your opponent is generally suffering from the same thing as you completely annihilate your foe. What is the true fun in that... Except for the slight satisfaction of the “It’s about time” syndrome. The likeliness of having an even fair match is probably 10:1, and those time the game lives up to what the developer writes in the description. Great game, frustrating to updateThe game has amazing design and I consistently rank in the highest levels without needing to spend any money to get there. There’s variance sure but also opportunity to be rewarded for consistent tight play. The only frustrating bit is that whenever there is an update, the game says I need to reopen the app to install updates. I click okay and I’m taken to the App Store page where the only option is to click Open. This opens the app which tells me I need to reopen the app to install updates.... The only way I can install updates is to uninstall the app, find WiFi, and then reinstall. And they update the game pretty regularly which is great but also frustrating. Closest to MTG you can getThis game is about as close to Magic the Gathering as you can get, even capitalizing on the fact that it’s digital to create interesting mechanics. Not to mention that the game is developed by MtG pros (Luis Scott Vargas and Patrick Chapin, among others). The rewards system is very generous (much better than Hearthstone) and although there is a way to pay for gems to buy packs, the game is easily free to play. There is also a draft system similar to magic, but is not in real time so you can take your time with every pick (they accomplish this by having the same person picking every card before you, but not necessarily in real time). Best card came on Mobile/SteamI've been playing card games for years and have to say that Eternal has captured something special. It has many of the "choices matter" elements from MTG with the rapid play and snappy animations of Hearthstone. It also has one of the most generous, free-est to play business models I've ever seen in a card game (I built 2 top tier decks after a month of casually completing daily quests and playing ranked), but because of this, starting out can be a little rough (because it's so generous, most people have lots of strong legendaries, but it still takes a few weeks of playing crap tier decks to save enough crafting materials for the cards you need to compete). Can’t open appLove this game. It’s awesome. Since the 27th of June 2018 I have been unable to open the app. I have it downloaded on an iPhone 7+ that’s totally up to date on software. Every time I try to reopen the app it says to reopen it to download the latest updates. I’ve checked the App Store multiple times and there aren’t any new updates. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the game and it still stops me at start up saying to reopen the game to download updates. Any time I click the Okay button it sends me to the App Store page. Disregard haters.I’ve played Magic: the Gathering since 1995, on and off. I even played competitively for a few years from Theros Block to Shadows Over Innistrad Block, culminating in a 21st place finish at regionals in Orlando, Fl. I hit Masters in Hearthstone when Murloc Paladin was a viable deck. Basically, I know card games. With mechanics that utilize the digital space in ways other games haven’t even imagined, and the most generous free-to-play payouts of any game in the genre, I can tell you that Eternal is the future of these games. I was able to gather up enough in-game currency through free play to have a Tier 1 deck in two months. Don’t listen to the whiners who say you can’t go anywhere F2P if you started too late..D. Fun but annoyingThis game is great as far as sound effects and visually. The game is fun to play......at first. You’ll like if for a bit online until a certain point then everyone uses the exact same deck which is ridiculous. I’m assuming they spent $ cuz those decks don’t exist normally. But more so they’re are way too many kill cards. It’s a bit ridiculous. I’ve played matches where every card I through was killed by a kill card. The game could use a little nerfing on the kill cards. It’s literally the purple deck the most. Which coincidentally is one of the colors everyone uses online mixed with the rest of their crazy cards. Overall the game is fun but some of the downsides make it less enjoyable. Absolute blast!!!I’ve been a long time paper MTG and MTGO player in my teens up to late 20s but both time and money demand of the game made it very difficult to keep playing. I switched to Hearthstone for a while but always wished to be able to play an “instant”. This game brings a similar experience to MTG and I didn’t take a lot of time understanding and adjusting. Best of all, this game is very generous in terms of earning gold and cards. You can build a cheap aggro deck and pull wins against better decks if you are lucky or just grind through AIs, earn gold, join drafts and build up your collection. In the top 5This game is very good if you like games such as Magic: The Gathering and Hearthstone. Most of the game is reminiscent of hearthstone back when it was fun to play. This game lets you access all of the game modes for a modest gold amount considering you get to keep your picks. I have not played the Draft mode yet but the Forge mode seems to be pretty fun. As some other review have said, this game lets you pick 75 cards (30 of which are power or mana that can be auto filled) that leaves basically every deck to have either two very strong strats or three very weak ones. DownloadsEverything about this game is great except.... downloads... literally haven’t gotten to play eternal in weeks because the fall in Argenport update takes so long. First the game told me to update it but there was no update out for it yet in the App Store. Never found it in the App Store just decided to get on the app and see and it began a download that took FOREVER. Finally finishes I’m excited as I’m going through the usual connecting screens and boom trolled. Another freaking update that takes twice as long. Nice one Guys. Great game. I got to 95 percent... let that sink in right after waiting ages. Boom error comes up... you see where this is going? Restarted the entire thing! AI RiggedSo I’ve been playing this game for 2 months, so I should be able to give a overall review. Eternal Card Game is a great CCG with good graphics, and meta decks are easy to build. It’s true really that you don’t waste your wallet(only for premium items), but gaining card packs is really difficult. But the most worst part about this game, is the AI. When playing against the Gauntlet Mode(I beat this multiple times), it seems like that the AI seems to draw the right cards while the real player doesn’t. It’s frustrating when I am almost beating the AI and it just “happened” to draw a bunch of heal cards to win. This happened on multiple occasions. It’s happened to me multiple times that I don’t even get past the 1st stage. That is my complaint..$@78Version: 1.46.8

The best CCG out thereThis is hands down one of the best CCGs you could ever try. It’s like Magic the Gathering and Heartstone had a love-child that combined all the best features of both. It’s made by devs with pro-MtG circuit experience, as well devs with CCG design experience to boot, and it shows. ‘But CCG’s are always Pay To Win!’ I hear you cry? No. Eternal isn't. Just give it a swing and talk to the community - some of the best meta-decks you can play are cheapo budget decks, and Eternal is both excessively generous and has a really good card-crafting system. You can have a good deck in a week or two, and a competitive one in less than a month..ChandrakVersion: 1.35.6

Fun But FrustratingThis game is very similar to magic the gathering. Only a small part of the gameplay involves skill, whereas the rest comes down to luck of the draw. A good amount of content has been released, allowing for the creation of unique and fun decks to be used in the solo battle gauntlet (versus the computer.) The ladder format (Throne) is comprised of the same handful of net-decks with tweaks here and there. The changing standard format (Expedition) restricts the use of card expansions to only a few, allowing for a wider array of net-decks with tweaks here and there. The Forge (draft versus computer) and Draft (draft versus people) formats are the healthiest part of this game, allowing for a wide variance of viable deck creation. Overall, this game is fun but it can be very frustrating..PresdeejVersion: 1.48.2

Fantastic MTG alternativeI first heard about this game from MTG hall of fame player Luis Scott-Vargas and have been having a blast with this game. The game feels very similar to MTG while maintaining a uniqueness to it. Also there is really no pressure for you to spend any real money to buy packs as you get gold at a really decent clip. Deck building is too restricted to balance randomnessThis game has a lot going for it—free to play, lovely graphics and card design, intriguing storyline in campaign mode, and even newcomers can compete. So why do I give the game a mere 2/5? Because there simply isn’t a good way to control the randomness inherent in a card game. The decks you build must have 75 cards at a minimum. That’s a BIG deck, and it increases the potential for a long string of bad draws, not to mention poor starting hands. It doesn’t matter how well you craft your deck if you draw nothing but power cards multiple turns in a row while your opponent continues to hit you with the units he or she draws. Or alternatively, if you have too little power and only draw your more expensive cards, you’re still doomed. You might think the solution is to build a deck with cheap units and few power cards, but no, power cards have to make up at least a third of your deck (so at least 25 even in a “small” deck). As a result, almost all my games seem to have results based on luck rather than strategy. It’s enjoyable for a while, but eventually it just gets frustrating when you realize that you only win or lose because one player has bad draws. That’s always a potential issue, but to me the rules in this game accentuate rather than ameliorate the problem, and that’s just awful design..Elendil25Version: 1.45.0

Fairly well designed but Elder Scrolls Legends is superiorThis game is well-thought out with engaging graphics, sound effects, and card animation. However, it has been on the App Store for over a year now and unfortunately, if you aren’t willing to spend money and got in late, you are screwed. I played a 30 game sample size of multiplayer games and created a deck that seemed formidable to me for being a newcomer with limited selection. I went about 12-18 in multiplayer with many games ending with the opponent really only having to play about 5 cards to create/boost an offensive onslaught that wiped me out by turn #7-10. I fully understand the mechanics of this game and it still didn’t matter. One opponent was able to defeat me by playing two actual unit cards. He had a “relic weapon” that could deal 5 damage to me each turn and the opponent had to do practically nothing to activate it each turn. Another match involved an opponent that playing a card where he brought a unit back from the void that gained charge with a boost in attack power that then summoned 2 more 5/5 creatures after the attack. He pulled this off by turn 6. Cool game, but if you are too late to the party you will have to spend $$$ or an extreme amount of time in the single player game modes to assemble a formidable deck for multiplayer..Dodoboy18Version: 1.26.2

LackingIn terms of design, it's too similar to Hearthstone and the slew of Hearthstone-like games that followed it. Except, it doesn't improve on the design. It's worse. This game regresses to the "draw your own resources" mechanic of Magic the Gathering. It's still very much a unit "trading" game, like HS or Shadowverse... it should be essential to build a deck that can play "on curve," giving you hands that fit nicely into a steadily increasing pool of resources, but you can't do that here. Instead, a good chunk of your games leave you with either too many or too few resources to have a fair chance. This happens as early on as the tutorial levels, which is unacceptable. The art, story, and voice acting behind the game all seem promising. They make me want to like this game, but no amount of window dressing can make up for the frustration of another 5 minutes wasted because RNJesus has graced you with the wrong number of Sigils. That's not to say that the game is irreparably broken. Shadowverse has a good, simple solution to the problem of bad hands: they let you pick individual cards to redraw at the start of the game, if desired. This would probably feel like a pretty big change, and it may seem scary to a designer, but it would definitely up the player experience. Maybe there's some other solution to this problem, but something needs to happen. Not a strategy gameAs often happens to cell phone apps this game has no balance. The devs decided how much mana each card should cost at what seems to be random. If you use the darkness element it seems that all cards are half the cost or less of what they should be so you are required to use this element to be competitive at all. At the bottom level are players who are playing to have fun but at the mid level or higher in the rankings are people who all use the same exact deck (the meta). Can you play justice? Yeah as the second most powerful element it still beats the other 3 but darkness will still always win. Time is all support and always viable in a support role for darkness or justice. The other two have no value at all because aegis is ineffective and the damage spells don’t do enough damage to kill a unit (it’s very easy to enhance a unit to over 30 hit points in a variety of ways). The solution is to double the cost of all darkness element cards and give some massive buff to primal and especially fire. Big design flaws and missing simple support issuesThis game is basically all about win by random. Your decisions really don’t matter much. You could build a great deck with a good curve, draw no more than 2 power for the whole game, and just get pummeled. Conversely, draw nothing but power cards and have nothing to put in play. Plus most of the value is all in the shadow faction... life steal, void return, cheap target removal. It can be an enjoyable time waster, but don’t put money into it... if you’re just getting random results, the lottery has better returns on your investment. Additionally, they have a lot of disconnect issues with the iOS client. You won’t know you have disconnected though, because it’s a tiny little red box on the left that you won’t see unless you are looking for it, and then you have to force close and restart... often losing the match. Unfortunately, feels extremely P2WI used to play this game a massive amount, and originally it felt like a true skill game where deck building felt like the main point of the game. Buggy and Unfun, and at times unplayableThe main issue is how easily a game can be lost simply due to terrible draw, and how often this happens. It seems like the majority of games I lose are due to mana flooding or a complete lack of mana, and a large portion of games I win in constructed is due to my opponent not drawing a playable combination of cards turn after turn. I don't have any incentive to get creative with deck building because even consistent decks lose to this game mechanic and building viable decks around specific strategies is expensive in either time or money. Now that gauntlet has been castrated, the only effective way to earn gold is grinding ranked, which amounts to flipping the coin of who got screwed out of a playable first 5 turns by rng. It really blows my mind that this is a problem; the game doesn't let you have less than 1/3rd mana, which means at worst your odds of drawing a sigil is 1 in 3 (or better depending on your starting hand). Yet it's more often I find myself either drawing 10 sigils in a row or no sigils at all for 10 turns than any semblance of an even distribution. Even in decks where the most expensive card I have costs 4, I end up having this problem. It's ridiculous. The only decks where this isn't an issue a large amount of time are decks that are devoted to pulling out sigils early (combrei) or decks where every card is 3 or less (rakano aggro), and even then it's still a problem. And now I can't even log in because the mobile app doesn't recognize that I already updated it. My only possible interaction with this game at this point in time is to reflect on its many failings. Almost a good gameThis game would be great if they fixed their shuffler. I have played MTG for 20 years and have never run into issues with mana flooding/screw with the frequency that I do in this game. I have drawn 10 power cards in a row multiple games in a single day which shouldn’t happen. The mulligan system is also terrible. Basically you should never mulligan unless you don’t have enough power cards. Trying to improve your hand almost always sticks you with something worse. Unfortunately many games right now are determined by your opening hand and not game play. Update: With the reduced rewards, Gauntlet runs are now pretty worthless. My honest take on a great game with a dirty secret...I played this game for a few years, and I quickly discovered that while free and fascinating...Eternal would probably never be worth spending money on. Not sure why my isp would make any difference, but every other game and service logged in just fine. Eventually I could get in if I just spammed login over and over until the error resolved itself, and then finally it fixed entirely and everything was fine. Then last week it started getting stuck on “authenticating”. Now I’m getting persistent login errors again. No spamming will get past it. My support request from last week seems to have been ignored. If the sinking ship that is Dire Wolf ever gets their act together, I may consider playing again, but we’ll see. I’ve switched to MTG Arena. Pay to win with little rewards if u loseIt’s sad because the artwork of the cards is nice and the game is fun but I can’t win as a free player they do give a free pack and cards and coins for completing daily quest and first win of the day but not enough to make a difference, and they have a gauntlet but unless u have good cards good luck + the more u win the harder it gets so that sucks, be nice if you could in more gold as a free player so u could enter the drafts and other events,but all tcg/ccg are pay to win.Patthor420Version: 1.55.0
