Gardenscapes Positive Reviews
The Nicest Game EverThis is, seriously, the "nicest" game on the internet. Austin is like your super-supportive friend, who's so positive it's almost creepy, but you gotta love him, because he's just so nice. I started playing this game as part of an offer to earn gold in another game I play, and I've been a daily player ever since. The match-3 levels are pretty addictive and challenging, and they're always changing and adding new features, so it stays fresh and interesting. At the same time, you're fixing up the gardens and having adventures with Austin. All the neighbors you meet are fun characters, with interesting backstories. It's all gorgeously rendered, and totally bug-free. You can play offline. Fun little events happen pretty frequently. Best of all, there's practically ZERO ad-presence... you have the option of watching videos for coins from time to time, but ads are never shoved in your face. I think this game is designed to appeal to older adults-- hence, the 80's-supermarket-style music, but I really think anyone can have fun with it. I am seriously just impressed with the quality of it. The only things I'd potentially change about this one: faster recharge on lives, different music options, and more customization options for the garden decor. But it's serously pretty great as it is..Version: 1.9.0
Love this gameThe game is great so many things to do I love how it’s not your everyday puzzle game. You finish a puzzle and get stars and actually get to do something like making the garden beautiful. I do wish there were easier ways to get money to buy the extra garden designs examples the fairytale and Greek looking garden options or drop the price because over 8000 for some will take forever to get also it’d be nice for more options of getting lives not everyone has friends that can send lives to them or can get into one of those alliances with a lot of active people so I think a way to get lives easier would be nice I get so into the game then get stuck waiting thirty minutes just for one life. I love the game though other than that I definitely can’t complain it’s so much fun. I also love how they give you chances to change the house I think we should get an option to paint the house the colors we want also it’ll give it even more of our own personal touch to the house when not using the holiday themes. Keep up the great work. I’d of given 5 stars but because of those few things I feel would help the game I gave 4 hopefully in time I can give that 5th star because this game definitely deserves it please consider adding better ways to get lives and money to buy in game items and painting the house for our own personal touch for when we aren’t using one of the holiday themes..Version: 4.1.0
Fun but annoyingThis game is definitely addicting and can be fun, but also very frustrating at times. As others have mentioned the levels get progressively harder as you go on. You can end up wasting lots of power ups and coins trying to beat a level and still lose. Also the rewards stay pretty much the same so you’re basically always getting diminishing returns as you play.
But by far the most annoying thing for me is the multi-step process needed to restart a level when you lose or decide to quit. Whenever there is any kind of challenge active where you have to collect things or earn rewards, there is always a pop up where Austin asks if you are ABSOLUTELY SURE you want to lose your rewards/collected items from that level, trying to get you to use your coins and continue. Yes Austin, I am 100% sure I would rather give up these 15 apples I matched than waste my coins on 5 more useless moves that will bring me no where close to winning the level.
Of course there is no option to disable these popups, probably because they are just a poorly disguised attempt to get people to spend money on coins. This used to be less of a problem because there weren’t always challenges going on so usually there would be no popup. Now the challenges are constant, and I have to mash the end level button multiple times to blow through Austin’s unhelpful advice every single time I lose or quit..Version: 3.2.0
Addicting, But FrustratingFirst of all, I want to say that I love absolutely love this game! It is very well advertised, and it is such good quality. I really enjoy the storyline and the beautiful garden. However, I do have a couple of problems with this game.
During the first couple of days I easily went through and played the levels. However, when I hit the 60’s it got hard. Now, I’m not complaining about the difficulty level, but there is a frustrating cycle when you just can’t complete a level. If you don’t have enough coins to buy more moves, then you don’t have enough coins to buy a power up. You can spin the wheel every day to win prizes, but you rarely get something you can use to win that level. Also, if you can’t when the levels and you don’t get any stars, and if you don’t get any stores and you can’t complete any of the challenges and win coins! You see where I’m going with this? It’s almost like the game is forcing you to purchase coins if you need an extra boost I a level.😕
Even after all this, I still love this game and gave it four stars for its originality and fun! I do ask that there be an easier way to get coins, though, like on Homescapes when you check in consecutively, you get coin rewards. I think that would be a great addition to Gardenscapes! Thank you to all the creators of this game, you guys are awesome!.Version: 2.0.0
Mixed feelings about this gameOn one hand, it’s wildly addictive. On the other, it’s overly frustrating to be stuck on a level that clearly shows the developers lacked some basic empathy/understanding of how the game works. I’m often stuck on levels that are not super hard, per their labeling. I have looked past the thanksgiving-riddled decor (mass genocide and stolen land? not something to celebrate) and the now Christmas-heavy theme, which is great for folks who celebrate Christmas. But I can’t look past the openly racist Asian-inspired area.
Being Asian myself, I am so confused how this material made it past the quality check, let alone the initial copywriting phase. The story had to first be pitched and then approved by a manager of sorts. It is just bizarre. I skip most of it because it’s like a slap in the face every time I read it. It is most blatantly racist in the backwards, broken English they use for the Asian character, and the stereotypical “master” title is getting really old. (If they were going for the true stereotype, they could have at least consulted someone Asian and used the proper term “sensei” which would have made it less inaccurate, at least.)
I know, it’s just a game, but someone should really be required to take some equity training. This is a very bad representation of Asian people and I’m disappointed it’s a large part of this game. If I were invested in this or advertising on this platform, I’d want to be more inclusive..Version: 4.9.0
Great Game, But...So, I’ve been playing this game for a while (and I mean a while...) like, close to the 7,000 level range and I’ve been having mixed feelings with this game. First of all I do enjoy playing it, but I have a few complaints for some levels. I’ve seen a response where the developers left a message saying all levels are beatable without power ups. While this may be true, the levels are very random. What I mean is this, if you replay a level, fruits or whatever is there don’t say in the same place. You will have to reset the level just to be able to make a huge blast power up to help clear levels.
Some levels also have so few turns that it’s super hard to beat unless you get a perfect start. Sometimes you’re forced to you a power up or all 3 to just clear a stage. Especially in the later stages, you would need to keep as many power ups just for that purpose. I have played stages as well where easy stages would act as hard or expert levels, and have few amounts of turns. The same with certain hard levels where it instead should be an expert level.
I do love the fact that there are these challenges where you can beat a level consecutively to earn extra power ups. Those definitely help, but you can easily lose them. So, while I do love the game, I have to give it a 3 out of 5 stars. Just because of the the way some of the levels are made..Version: 4.7.5
Addictive, too easy to spend money. This is a fun, entertaining, story telling, somewhat educational game. The artwork is nice, the logic to keeping you playing has been thought out, and it is pretty easy to play. You can win each level without power ups, but it is real tempting and very easy to buy power ups or to extend game just a few more plays. I have spent too much money in this game and am about ready to end it. But it was my choice to spend the money and Apple sends you a report on your expenditures so you can say WHAT! One big problem, when you run out of battery and your devices powers down (ok, that is the players fault), when you power back up and re-enter the game and the last level you were playing, the game thinks you had lost the level and the power ups you had stored in the bucket or chest are gone!!! The developers might consider not removing the power ups until after the last move of a level that ends the level, not during a crash. I lost a full chest of power ups after this loss of power crash (I did not plug in the iPad in time) and am finding it almost impossible to recover, or I need to spend more money. And I am done spending money. Time for me to move on, but I hope the developers can fix this issue. Until they do, don’t run out of power while playing this game!.Version: 4.3.0
Fun, but the game cheats to try to get your moneyI’ve been playing this for many months now, and while I enjoy the premise and the gameplay, I found that the game purposely tries to prevent me leveling up. I currently have 23 extra lives (probably the 5th or 6th time I’ve accumulated this amount) that I got from the daily spin. I purposely press the stop button on different parts of the wheel, and yet I STILL get extra lives every time. It’s totally fixed. I’ve found myself stuck on levels for weeks because what I really need is a power up to give me the edge to pass the level, but I’m buried alive in extra lives instead.
Additionally, I’ve found that if I start blowing through levels too quickly, the game will purposely make my lose a level by refusing to drop the needed shape. I’ve had more than twelve moves left to me after gathering all the gnomes or the lemonade but one, and despite making matches right beneath where I need things to be rearranged, the game will just keep dropping useless shapes for all of my 12 moves and purposely prevent me from winning. I’ve noticed that the only way to combat this programmed cheating is to just stop playing. I won’t open the app for days and then suddenly the game provides everything I need to pass a level I’d been stuck on for 9 days. It’s very frustrating, and there have been several times I’ve considered just deleting it..Version: 2.5.0
I will literally never delete this gameI have had this game for three years, and I love it more than any other game I have ever downloaded. I love how many things austin can say. The graphics are amazing! I like how when ever you click on something it makes a noise, like if you tap bush is makes a like bush sound or if you click on ice it makes an ice clinking sound. The sheer effort they put into the little social page you can click on is so cute, like im sure not too many people look at it, but its always there, ya know? I love gardening in real life, and I love gardening in the game too, its just so green and lush I love it. If I get to a hard level, I may just stop playing for a few months, but in the end I will always come back. I love my dog (his name is goose!), and how sometimes theres those little training levels. I love the background music its so calming. I do wish there was a way, if you truly needed to, to skip a level like maybe a special ticket thats only available from the treasure chest on the daily wheel. Im 17 years old (female) and my friends sometimes make fun of me for playing it and they call me an old lady but I dont care, I will play this game as long as it exists. I dream to one day finish my beautiful garden alongside my trusty butler, Austin:).Version: 3.1.0
I love it and it’s fun to play but....First off, I just want to say that I absolutely love this game. I love the aspect of decorating the home, the plot, all of that. The only thing that gripes me about it is that, the game is so transparent in the fact that they make like 2 or 3 levels in a row super easy like passing it in 1 or 2 lives and then they’ll give you a level that you can’t pass for a week, like making it impossible, and you can only pass if you use the power ups or use the coins for more turns. After about a week and the game notices that you don’t use any of it, they make the level on probably the 9th day SUPER easy to pass and you’ll move on. I’ve noticed this about 6 or 7 times in the game and I’m upper 100 levels. Now to be fair, A LOT of puzzle games are like this. Homescapes is just visually appealing enough to make it bearable. The reason why I don’t mind it so much is because I play it a lot on my free time or when I’m bored so playing it, knowing I’m going to lose a level because they’ll make me wait to see if I use the power ups, is killing time for me until I actually pass it. Besides all of that, if you don’t like games that have that same interface and strategy with its players then this game is probably not for you, but it is a very well looking game with load of fun puzzles to play from!.Version: 2.2.0
Great game, one irritating problemOverall I love this game. HOWEVER, there is one issue that irritates me endlessly, and I’m writing this review hoping it gets resolved. In some levels in which the goal is to get the punch cups to drop to the bottom of the map, there are little nooks that allow for the rainbow blast power up to drop down into the nook in the space below the cup, so that you can’t use the rainbow blast because the only thing to switch it with is the cup. If this happens, there is no way to win the level!! The rainbow blast is blocking the cup, and no amount of blasting with bombs will move the rainbow blast out of the way. The ONLY way to win would be to use the little “hand” special to switch the places of the cup and the rainbow blast. So if you don’t have that, you basically waste an entire life and any other power ups you started the game with. Like is said, compared to the entirely of the game, this problem is small, but it is definitely a design flaw that causes me to just waste entire levels! It’s SO SO SO aggravating because it’s different than the level just being difficult- rather the level by design and chance is impossible. At the very least, provide a “surrender” option so that I don’t have to do random swipes for 10 moves knowing that the level has become unwinable..Version: 3.7.0
GameThis game is one of the best games I've ever played!! It lets you help Austin (the butler) renovate and grow his garden!! Yeah sure sometimes the levels do get so annoying that i ignore the game for almost several months, but thats the ONLY reason i gave it a four star. In this game, there are rarely ANY ads! (Also, i tried putting a four-and-a-half star but it just wouldn’t let me). One thing that i like about this game is that if you are a gardener who wants to make their garden look better than it already is, this game is perfect for you 😊😊🙂. And if you are more like a indoor house person who wants to make their house look better than it already is, i highly recommend playing Homescapes because homescapes is basically the same game as Gardenscapes just its renovating and making the HOUSE look better than it already is. Also, in both of these games, after you reach a certain level, you’re allowed to either join or create a team. If you join a team you can chat and interact with people you’ve never met before.(of course you have to interact through your chats in the chat box.). If you create a team you have got to name it, describe it, choose a logo out of the options they give you, and confirm and hope people join. I hope you like this game!!! Good luck!🍀 👍🏻 have fun!!😉😀😀😊😄🥳.Version: 4.5.0
Relaxing game...I really enjoy playing this game, great graphics, challenging puzzles, customizable settings, cute storylines and I enjoy playing after work or when I have some free time. Things I would tweak: Austin is a gardener...not a butler (picky, but it just annoys me 😉), to move along faster in the game you need to purchase boosts (I no longer do this, so it just takes much longer to get free boosts), the 1 daily free spin is appreciated but the game needs more opportunities to get boosts, and finally the stars...you need to solve 1 puzzle to earn 1 star. Depending on what you are trying to accomplish (clean an area, plant a tree, renovate an architectural structure), the game requires so many stars for each task. Many times the required stars are more than what I think is reasonable, or they break the task up into 2 or even 3 parts (meaning even more stars). Finally, the special events like transforming the mansion or a part of the garden for the holidays (Christmas, Halloween...) have a time limit, but no break on the number of stars or an increase in coins to “purchase” more boosts. Towards the very end of the event the game will double the stars or coins, but almost too late unless you play constantly. So overall I would recommend the game, but for casual play & relaxing and don’t get caught up in trying to go thru it quickly..Version: 3.6.0
Please fix rocket/firecracker prioritiesI love this game and have been playing it for several months. I’m around the 1700 level mark and I have to make a complaint. The firecracker rocket things (the icon is a colorful cluster of three of them together) are normally supposed to go after crates or firefly jars, things you need to clear the level. But what’s frustrating is to be down to the last turn and I make a match with one, which should clear the one last crate or item.... and instead the stupid things go after a piece of fruit or leaf with a renovation ticket vs the thing I needed to complete the level. This is especially infuriating when I’ve got all the extra power ups from the treasure chest like the extra turns, bombs etc but then because the stupid rockets go after the ticket instead of the needed item to clear the round I end up losing and because I don’t have 900 coins left I loose the treasure chest items.
This keeps happening and it’s super frustrating. If the rockets are supposed to help you clear times needed to finish the level then have it do that 100% of the time. I would rather finish the level than get tickets... which I lose anyways for losing the level so it make absolutely no sense at all.
Otherwise I love the game. I hope you can fix this issue..Version: 4.2.2
Too hard or ?I enjoy this game immensely. I really do. I have to agree with some of the other reviewers about the difficulty in some of the levels and how it can take a very long time to pass a level. However, I think it’s somewhat okay. I look forward to the challenge of trying something different the next time I get a chance to play that level. I do not pay anything for the extra stuff. I did it once and felt like a heel. That’s part of the challenge. The only thing that bugs me more than levels being a bit too challenging at times is having to add crap to areas. It sounds so nitpicky as I type this out, but here goes. So we finish the fountain in the garden and then change the basin to a statue that takes like 9 stars to finish? It really takes a long time to finish any area in the garden when we have to do that stuff. I’m all for the challenging levels, but how many stars it takes to do the changes is a bit much. How about giving us the choice of a decoration: maybe the butler really wants the peacock for the basin in he fountain and it costs 3 stars. You like the angel for the basin and it costs 2 stars, maybe the original basin costs 1 Star. Just an idea. I think it would be more fun to have a choice that way..Version: 3.0.0
Letting players knowI'm letting all of you know that think you have to pay to beat a level is not true. Yes you can pay for the coins and stuff if you want. But it's just a matter of trial and error. I'm on level 559 and have not spent a dime of real money. I only use the coins I earn and the prizes I win with the wheel and events, sometimes it doesn't work out and I don't beat it but it doesn't mean I have to pay to win, I spent weeks on a level before keep trying don't give up and when you finally get a good set up the satisfaction is greater when you win. I love this game with the storyline it brings. I love trying to guess the new area when the other is complete. Same thing goes for Homescapes both are amazing.
(I'm on level 289 and spent no real money on it)
Both games for all levels trial and error. Don't give up don't get frustrated. Support the developers by keeping the games. You can buy the sales offer. But just because you can't beat a level in a certain amount of days or weeks doesn't mean it's set up to where you have to pay to win. All levels in all games are made to be beaten without pay or upgrades. Paying to help doesn't mean you'll beat the level then. So don't get mad at the developers..Version: 2.2.0
It’s silly but it’s funThe puzzles themselves are good, they’re difficult sometimes but all of them are possible to beat without wasting any bonuses or spending your money. I’ve played it for a couple of years now on and off and without having paid a dime I got really far. I finally bought a small package of coins just because I enjoyed the game enough I wanted to support the creators. I figured I should leave a review, too.
The plot is thin and just over all silly but... it’s meant to be. Really, you just don’t think about why you need to play a puzzle to earn a point to get the butler to answer the gate. You don’t think about why a helicopter is free to use for dropping off things and picking up trees. None of that matters, it’s just a silly thing the creators added in to make it fun to earn points from puzzles. He says cute things in between and I’m fond of him, despite the fact that he doesn’t like cats... not sure I could ever agree with you there, Austin, but I like the cat addition in their Homescapes game (even though he seems to have forgotten how much he disliked cats... or about the garden and dog too?)
Like I said, you just don’t think about it too much. Thanks to the creators for a fun puzzle game, looking forward to more!.Version: 3.2.0
A great but expensive gameAn interesting match-3 game with real dialogue written well and at a level accessible to everyone, this game can consume many hours. However, they penalize high level players with levels that require power ups to complete, and with others that, if you have automatic power ups due to events running, ruin a supposedly-clever mechanic and make the level unbeatable. Of course, you can keep spending money for more turns (which is undoubtedly the goal) but it’s very easy to spend $30 in micro transactions and their “best deals” are usually not.
However, the game itself is largely stable. The one giant caveat is that if you are in the midst of a level and receive a call (when playing on your phone) the game may restart and not only do you lose any progress on that level, but if you had automatic boosters, they are forfeited even if you paid for then. Contacting support only gets to a token reply that this is functioning as intended and basically you’re screwed. Please do more money in the portal on your way out. The oft-requested feature of waiting to use free lives until one had time is never answered, so enjoy six hours of unlimited lives right before bed.
Still, it’s the most enjoyable “free” game out there, and by far the best game in the “Scapes” series..Version: 4.6.0
My favorite phone gameI've been playing this game now for definitely over a year and it has come such a long way. It used to be SUCH a pay-to-play and the levels were impossibly hard so you felt hopeless. But it was the beautiful visuals and the cute storyline that kept me playing. As I got to later levels and the developers fixed all the little kinks in it, it's now arguably perfect. They have provided easier ways to get coins than just by winning levels, like a daily wheel spin, the introduction of "hard levels" (give you double the coins but really aren't often any harder than regular levels), frequent mini events that provide additional coins, power-ups, or even infinite lives for a period of time. Love it love it.
My only complaint is that I wish I could put that time limit for infinite lives on hold in some way. I can't tell you how many times I've just thought to maybe play a couple games during a break at work or right before bed.. and then those are the times I hit jackpot 😰 One time during an event I went all the way to the top and got 8 hours total of infinite lives right before bed and ended up staying up all night because I didn't want to waste it. I was dead at work the next day..Version: 1.8.0
Favorite game :)I downloaded the game based on the click bait of a story line where you are given the options to save the girl, save the house from burning, etc. The actual game is nothing of the sort. I also noticed that the game will cheat you to try and get you to spend money. If I’m stuck on a level that I’ve lost 20 times, I won’t log on for several days and all of a sudden when I come back, I have “welcome back” rewards, and I can beat said level in 6 moves. That is so annoying. The challenge level is actually perfect for me, not too easy but not too hard. No one would play a game with zero challenge. The reward wheel is annoying too. I’ve played for quite a long time now and have hit jackpot one time. Almost every other time I get rainbow blast, but never anything else that could be helpful. Overall, this is a fun game to pass the time but it could definitely use some improvements. It IS very visually appealing, and I love the calming music and sound effects. I also love Austin’s borderline creepy personality and positivity. One last thing that I like is that there are no pop up ads and those type of annoyances. I’m the type of person that will spend a few dollars on a game if it is fair and if I feel that the devs deserve it FOR being fair..Version: 4.7.5
Great game, and I don’t spend money on it everI don’t understand the temptation to spend money on this game??? While I can see how easy it is to spend money, I never have and never will. For me, whenever the “buy” messages appear, I ignore them. When you are out of energy or lives, to me that is the cue to put the game down and shift focus to another activity, possibly that doesn’t involve playing another game on your mobile device or tablet.
When I’ve exhausted my lives, I've already spent a considerable amount of time playing GardenScapes and it’s now time to do something else, like cook dinner, wash the dishes, sweep the floor, etc. This reminds me of how great this game is constructed. At the point when you’ve exhausted your current lives, you must wait a time period before a life or lives are regenerated. In essence, there is a subliminal message in this game that tacitly tells you to keep your priorities in order, and not be so obsessed with constantly playing a game for hours upon hours. I appreciate the sociological/psychological aspect of GardenScapes.
Finally, the game is very impressive and the graphics are exceptional. The developers should be commended on how well they’ve constructed the game..Version: 4.8.0
Overall fun game but one part is pretty racistI’ve been playing GardenScapes for over a year and have mostly enjoyed it. There are not many games I have played consistently for this long. Sometimes I get stuck on a level but that makes victory that much sweeter when I finally get past it.
But there are some improvements that could be made:
1. The portrayal of Master Akira is racist. Yes I know you try to show admiration and respect for Asian cultures but the way Master Akira talks is grammatically ridiculous. Asian people don’t mix up their words that much. The object of the sentence before the rest of it is fine, but words are randomly placed throughout the sentence making it difficult to even understand what he’s saying. Please fix this! It’s not funny, it’s not culturally accurate, it’s just really annoying.
2. When there’s a challenge to get the most bombs/fireworks, give us unlimited fireworks for 30 minutes, not unlimited lives! You give us unlimited rainbow blasts for that particular challenge but don’t do the same for the fireworks challenge.
3. Austin’s magic hat bonuses max out at 1x1x1, while the dog’s treasure chests give you many more bonuses if you consecutively win. I don’t understand this discrepancy and wish you’d add more bonuses to the magic hat..Version: 2.7.0
Really fun at first then it all goes downhillI’m on level 6053 so I’ve been playing a long time. The game is super fun and there’s no other game that I’ve found that’s like it. If there is I wish I could find it. There are plenty of match 3 games but their puzzles are not like the ones in Gardenscapes. I could care less about the fixing things in the garden part of the game but the graphics are great and it looks really nice if you do care about it. There are also lots of extra events and such.
Where it all goes downhill is that the value for the power-ups that can be purchased is really ridiculous. You get very little for what you buy. You’d think the developers are actually in a sweatshop pounding out bombs and such and trying to keep up with demand. It’s really ridiculous. And the game gets progressively harder until it’s virtually impossible to beat many of the levels without some kind of power-up (unless you want to spend several boring days playing the same level over and over and over and over) and often you’ll need several tries anyway, so lots of power-ups. So, expensive or boring that’s your two choices.
I’m really struggling to come up with a rating for the game. It’s 5 star game until you hit that wall where you have to spend money to play..Version: 4.3.0
Addicting, Love it! But...This game is so much fun, I LOVE playing it on my free time. However, I have to agree with everyone else that thinks the game could be more fair. These puzzles aren’t easy, some get very difficult the higher the levels. More should be rewarded to us when we win, not just one star & 50 coins? It’s ridiculous, because this game is a great addictive game. Also, I don’t understand why it has to cost so much coins when we run out of turns, seriously 900 coins for the first second chance & it just keeps going higher. Why can’t it be 100 coins, because when we pass we don’t get rewarded enough! It’s just isn’t fair to the players who really want to win so we have to throw some actual money away to buy turns when the game isn’t giving us enough. One more thing, is that when a level consist of stuff like the flowers or having to get 8-10 cups more turns should be given to us, it’s hard & it doesn’t make sense to have less turns then what you’re asking us to collect, if that makes sense. Please, I hope you guys read this! I hope some major modifications are taken into notice because this game could be even more great! It gets tiring to struggle, & you’ll lose customers. Please, again just take some notice, fix these little things! Thank you for you time!.Version: 3.7.0
Level 149 REALLY????I understand that certain levels aren’t meant to be easy, as they shouldn’t. Then, where’s the challenge? But, I chose to spend my day off relaxing and playing my favorite game and it was working......until about two hours ago. That’s exactly how long I’ve been trying to pass level 149. I get that I could make an in-app purchase and by power-ups, but I rarely do that and I feel my hand is being forced to do so with a level like this. Ya got layers of dirt, boxes, chains on fruit.....and that’s what you gotta get through before you reach the boxes that contain the 25 flowers you must get to clear the level. To get the flowers you have to make what seems like FIFTY THOUSAND matches before just a few flowers appear!!!! I’m always up for a good challenge, but this? This is impossible! And developers you know the one I’m talking about too! Shame on you for level 149!!! I have rated all your games 5 stars-until today. I know I’m only one person, but I gotta feeling I’m not alone in feeling this way! And oh yeah, the Halloween decorations cost too many coins, also. Halloween will be over before I could earn enough coins to get any of the good stuff!!!!.Version: 4.7.5
NOT 5 STARS. READ THE LOWER STAR REVIEWS FOR TRUTHI’ve been playing the game for about 2 months now. Early on, I realized the best and only way to actually play this game is to invite friends. I don’t mind losing once in a while or even every other game (except if you do not win on your first try you lose any winning power up help)
But game after game after game, unless I spend more money? I’ve spent more than enough on a part-time pocket game. The games are without a doubt set up so you are unable to win unless you have every single move, exactly right. Basically, it’s like going to a casino. Your chances of winning without power ups or coins are basically nil. Even after several invites and earning up to 25,000 coins. They are all gone. All power ups are gone. I have never gotten a jackpot on the wheel. The carnival, lost so many coins. Nothing that will help. It’s too bad because it’s a nice game if not for the fact that putting so much time into playing and never achieving, is nothing but frustrating. I do not like being taken advantage of. What kind of people fix the game so you can never win? That is just very BAD BUSINESS owned by very GREEDY people..Version: 5.1.2
My favorite game!!I e always been interested in the puzzle games like Candy Crush & Bejeweled, and I honestly thought this would be the same basic thing but I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong. This game is so addicting and fun, and creative! I love that you get to restore parts of your garden, learn new things about gardening, choosing and designing different things, all the events are well thought out and exciting to do, I love that you get to meet people and animals (mostly the animals!) that you get to let live in your garden. It gives you a sense of pride to look back at all your progress and see how great everything looks together. THE ONE BIT OF FEEDBACK I HAVE, is please find more than just one way to earn stars. If you can buy coins I feel like buying stars should be an option, or to win them in events or at hard levels. Other than that I have been playing for months and have nothing but good things to say about it (except the stars lol). I love showing my friends and family my garden, asking their opinions on design choices, and bonding with them over the game. 9/10 would recommend- please add another way to get stars. Thank you!.Version: 2.6.0
Update to last coment (update again)Went back in to beat the level again, only to have it crash, again!!! Thats twice on the same level, making me lose another bomb booster and 900 coins along with it! That is now two bomb boosters, 3,000 coins, and two lived your game has cost me in less than 30 minutes on only one level because of crashes. Im really frustrated right now, please help!
Update: Not sure if this was a response to my last review but i did end up getting 2000 coins from the developers a few weeks ago which was nice of them (though this was months after I posted my review and I cant find any sort of response from them)! The game doesnt crash anymore at the end of a level which is great! though the levels are still frustratingly hard at times that makes me quit while playing. One question though with the new update it wants you to try out the golden ticket for free, while that is nice of them to let us, id prefer not to and just go the normal path, but its not letting me say no, is there anyway to forego this cause im unable to claim any stage prize unless i try the golden ticket. other than that the game has improved and is becoming more fun to play, hence it getting bumped up to 4 stars 😁.Version: 4.7.5
Fun but could be betterThe game is great fun, but I feel it could be improved with the tasks not being broken down so many times. Also why not add some fun mini games to let us help in the task as opposed to breaking it down into three, two star collecting ventures. For example, recently I had to look for the maze map, then when we found it, it was in pieces, now I have to use 12 stars just to build the shrubs for the maze, but instead You could have had a mini puzzler so I could put the map together and not need any stars. Match three can still be your main puzzles, but an easy search and find, or logic puzzle would help break up the monotony a bit, especially when your on level 585 and all the levels seem to take 8 lives to pass. Lastly a half an hour is a long time to wait for a life, especially when the level takes only a few minutes to fail. It could be closer to every 10 or 15 minutes you get a new life. Well thank you for the fun game, for now I am still playing and find it just as addicting as it was on day one, just sort of annoying with the task break ups and the waiting on lives. Hope this helps....Version: 1.9.0
Player beware....Too expensive and online tutorials don’t matchI’ve been stuck on level 3309 for about a week. I don’t know how many lives and power ups I’ve used on it. When I look up how to beat the level on line, all the players in the videos start with 31 lives, I’m starting with 25. I’m tired of having to spend $3 to beat a level. And I watched at least three different videos that all started with 6 more lives than the level. That would be at least $3 of in game purchases. Only to then have to spend the more to beat the next level. They say every level is beatable, just go online to see how it’s done! But pay close attention to the small differences between the online videos and the levels you’re actually given. It’s a fun game if it wasn’t such a scam. I wouldn’t mind paying a dollar here and there but you need about 100 stars to finish a garden day, and it probably averages out to needed to spend close to a dollar every other level. If you’re willing to spend $50-$100 over and over to progress, you will have fun. Otherwise, don’t even bother downloading this game..Version: 4.6.0
Why is the help so useless??One would think that inheriting a manor would come with more responsibility than returning gardens to former glory. Or more competent help for that matter. The game is pleasing enough, quick easy levels mixed with frustratingly difficult ones, the usual for games of this ilk. But for some reason, the game forces you to interact with and do the bidding of the incompetent butler that let these gardens fall to a state of wilderness in the first place. Why should I care that the butler needs to help his father find and tune a guitar? Why should I have to spend my effort to solve puzzles so that he can laze about reading books and training a dog I was forced into getting in the first place? One would think that a rather sizable sum of money would accompany this new manor house and the seemingly endless gardens around it. Why can I not simple pay for the gardens to be returned to their former glory? Or better yet, sell the thrice damned house, butler, and rather useless dog to another rube for a deep discount? I would have kept my silence, but this game also asked me thrice in an hour to rate it, not sure why, it had never been this needy before. Hopefully this shuts up the random strangers that feel it is appropriate to come into my home and gardens whenever they feel like chatting with the help..Version: 1.8.0
Help....I have been playing this game for a while. I’m currently on level 968. It is a fun game that I feel is practical. It does have its challenges but it never gets to the point where I feel like a have to give up because I can’t beat a level or what not. And I love that they always have little mini promos. Which also come in handy if you feel stuck on a level. Like gaining power ups when you win games and the daily wheel and other things to get power ups and coins.
Unfortunately I am having an issue with the renovation tickets. My ticket balance is 33. And when I beat a level, let’s say I win 10 tickets for the level I won, my balance will show that I only had 23 tickets and the ten tickets won are added to the balance keeping my ticket count at 33. I’ve even seen it give me a negative balance if I win more than 33 tickets on a level. I tried to write customer service but didn’t get a response. I have no update needed, so I’m not sure what to do. Now I don’t gain any tickets at all. The event just says “hurry up”. And I received a pop up on the game right before writing this about how you can get double the tickets for a limited time. But now I’m not showing that I am even given the option to win tickets.
Outside of the tickets the game is amazing..Version: 5.2.2
Not what it used to beI’ve been playing Gardenscapes since it was a hidden object game played on the computer. I have never purchased anything and I absolutely loved the game. Unfortunately, over the past few months things have gone down hill and I rarely play now. There’s simply too much going on. 4 challenges going on at once. And of course as soon as a challenge starts I start getting impossible levels that I’m stuck on for days. Even with endless lives, it’s incredibly difficult to beat these levels. I assume this is intentional to force players to purchase boosters to get past the level. I end up in levels where you have to get a certain color or clear a certain item, but the color or item isn’t even on the game board. I can’t even count the amount of times I’ve lost a level because I didn’t clear butterflies, but there were no butterflies on the board to clear. It seems there are intentional roadblocks now and I got sick of trying over and over so the game quickly became boring. I’ve kept the game on my phone because I’ve gotten pretty far, but every time I go back to try again, I end up quitting because it’s just not what it used to be. Cut some of the challenges. Stop making levels intentionally impossible..Version: 5.1.0
AdvertisementsI used to love this game, I saw ads for it here and there and downloaded it, because I liked match 3 games, one day I deleted it because I was bored of it, months later I see another ad for it. It wasn’t your standard “match 3” ad, it was a game where you pull rods kind of like cut the rope. I cringe so hard watching those new ads because of the “only 5% can solve this” or “FAIL” And even though it’s not their fault entirely since they probably obtained it from voodoo games. I can’t get over just how cringe inducing the ads are. If you look up: “misleading puzzle ads” then you’ll see COUNTLESS people saying how much they strongly hate those ads. I miss the game for what it used to be, and with other game developers adopting that same annoying idea for ads is getting old. So please stop. Just change the ads back to what they were before. They were so much better, and I didn’t think I’d say this, but you should probably remove the mini games all together... the game was so much better without them, and if you remove those ads, you’ll find thousands of people cheering for the removal of misleading puzzle ads. Thank you for reading this, and I hope you put it into consideration..Version: 4.8.2
Great GameLoads of fun but very frustrating at times when it takes so long to complete a level.Version: 1.8.0
Pretty FunCan be a fun game but some levels are ridiculous to pass and there should be more boosts available..Version: 1.8.0
