Praise for Lifeline:

“I’ve played many games that I find engrossing, but Lifeline may be one of the first that changed the way I thought about my daily routine, which leapt off the screen and became a part of my lived experience.” - Eli Cymet, Gamezebo

“For a few brief hours I cared – really cared – about the fate of a completely fictional character. I don’t think any other game I’ve played has made me feel that way before.” - Matt Thrower, PocketGamer

Lifeline: Flatline Positive Reviews

Engaging, fun, but flawedLike many people playing this game, I’m a big fan of the Lifeline series. In comparing Flatline to its cohorts, it improves in some areas, but displays new flaws that ultimately outweigh its innovations. First of all, the character of Wynn is pretty great. Not as idiosyncratic and lovable as Taylor or Arika, but not as dry and dull as say V. Adams. She’s believable and engaging, but kind of unlikable in a few ways. Secondly, the heart rate and its involvement in the game is a minor innovation that adds a good variable. But the things that keep this one from a perfect score are its far too frequent pauses in the action. Part of what made the first several games so good were their pacing. A consistent, moderate amount of action in spurts. Flatline takes you out of the action for brief periods way too many times. While this does draw out the story more, it’s just ridiculous to wait five minutes while Wynn takes a sip of water or something. Also, I’m not a huge fan of the Green story arc that ties these games together- it seems kind of slapdash and patched together, and so I wonder why it’s always the focal point of these games stories, but that’s honestly just a personal thing for me..Version: 1.0.2

Quirky, awesome, engagingThis is my second Lifeline game (I played the with Alex first), and it's an awesome, unique experience (even without an Apple Watch). The real-time nature of the narrative contributes to its engaging nature. I find myself actually caring what happens to Taylor, which is the same feeling I experienced when playing Lifeline: Crisis Line with Alex. I had to look up the order in which to play the other games, since 3 of them star Taylor. Right now I'm simultaneously playing Lifeline, Lifeline 2: Bloodline, Lifeline: Whiteout, and Lifeline: Flatline since they star characters other than Taylor, as I want to play the Taylor entries in order (Lifeline, then Lifeline: Silent Night, then Lifeline: Hallway to Infinity). These games are definitely worth playing. I'd love to see how the experience differs when playing with an Apple Watch. Regardless, I highly recommend all of the games in the series. They do have an overarching theme that ties them all together (the threat of the green-eyed woman and/or the odd, green alien tentacle blobs that can enter your body Wrath of Khan style). I like the fact that some of the games are sci-fi, one is fantasy/magic themed and one is basically survival horror, and all of them adhere to the overarching theme of the green mind-controlling alien creatures that you must either destroy or avoid at all costs. I highly recommend them..Version: 1.0.2

Good, but needs work. The story is quite engaging. The suspense is very thick. You want to keep playing. But you can’t. Wynn takes as long as she possibly can to do the simplest of tasks, like walk ten feet or process information. I feel like the writers couldn’t think of a long enough story so they put ridiculous pauses in even more ridiculous places. Some of these I understand, like sleeping or trying keys, but it is totally possible to walk and talk at the same. Multitasking is pretty great. It would have been better with a bit more backstory to replace some of the pauses. And to be honest, at the beginning, I couldn’t get into the story. I get that Wynn woke up after some mysterious surgery and was terrified out of her mind, but even still, she came across as super whiny. But after a while, the story picked up, and I found myself caring what happened to her. Overall, this game is one of my least favorite in the series, but to be fair, this series is super amazing, so even the worst game in it is pretty darn great. I loved how it tied the rest of the games together, and despite the egregious wait times and slow start, it’s totally worth a play through..Version: 1.0.2

Explaining the elevator, and this game is dopeFirst off, the elevator. Why create a rewind in the story called into the elevator when u actually aren't supposed to go into it or do anything with it? So to answer any questions about it, leave it and let the apes attack you because it's the only way for the story to continue. Now, this game is as good as it it FREAKY!!! I love the story even though it can get quite confusing. However, my main problem with it is that Wynn take too long to do stuff, I had to turn the game on fast mode (which I hate doing) just so I could get the game moving. So that's my review, I hope that what I told anyone about the elevator helped. P.S - This is just my opinion but I think that Adams shouldn't be over (because I'm not done with him personally and Taylor and Arika seem to be the only people with a more than one game series and I think it would be cool if Adams did as well) and I think that a MAJOR crossover should happen between the characters. Also, is Taylor's series over? Or was the end of Silent Bight just a massive cliff hanger?.Version: 1.0.2

Not my favoriteOut of all of the lifeline games this has to be my least favorite. Like other reviewers have been saying, it takes forever for Wynn to do anything. It's exhausting and it makes game play extremely choppy. I don't feel like you really learn any of what's going on until 3/4 into the game. I actually thought about self sabotaging to get her killed so I could put it on fast mode just to get through all of the tedious pauses. Also what's up with not seeing the full text responses? This is the only game that doesn't allow that and it's pretty annoying. All of that being said, it's still a lifeline game and it's still a good time but definitely on the bottom of the list as far as favorites go..Version: 1.0.2

Always on the edge of your seatThis really brings the chills as you think through performing through logic or morals, and the difference between good and bad. Your choices will affect this character and this game shows you that through the characters words and heartrate ( and changed storyline). Though there was only one thing that slightly frustrated me was when I chose certain answers as comfort but when chosen and shown at it's full length it was showing me panic or being afraid resulting in the character freaking out which wasn't my intention at all. It's understandable though as the space to explain each choice is very limited. Other than that all in all it was an absolute 5 stats from me. The choices that resulted in them panicking didn't do much to change the story so that made it only a small problem . I absolutely loved the lifeline series since middle school when i played Whiteout and I can't wait to see more of what comes out : ) THANK YOU!!.Version: 1.0.2

Love these games, EDIT and it's working againThe first review was just to say I like the games, but the app was malfunctioning. Thank goodness, the issue seems to have resolved itself (I haven't noticed any app update so we can chalk it up to Apple) and the game is working on watch and phone. I'd hate to leave a bad review for an issue that is resolved, because this game is really very good. Engaging, not overly-time consuming, the story is very well told and the choices you make allow you to really suspend disbelief and accept, for maybe 10 minutes at a time, that you are the sole external source of advice and support for a young woman (I'm guessing the gender, here) trapped in a hellish nightmare come to life. Very engaging and rich. Well worth the couple bucks. Buy it and choose her own adventure..Version: 1.0.2

FrustratingAs much as I wanted to love this I just couldn’t get into it and not because the story wasn’t good but because of the amount of pauses that literally happened every 2 mins .. to the point where I wanted to just delete it because the second I started to get into the story I was once again having to wait while she did something and it wasn’t like a few mins .. sometimes it was m, but more often than not it was an hour or more . Real time games just aren’t my thing and I wish the devs would have made it optional , like they did with the other lifeline games, or the few that I’ve played . With all this being said , I still really enjoyed the character but felt like there wasn’t anything that had me feeling attached to her . I still think you should give their games a try though.Version: 1.0.2

Tired of constantly Awaiting TransmissionI am a huge fan of the Lifeline interactive stories. But this one has (almost) annoyed me to the point of deleting the app before finishing. The reason is the constant long pauses in dialogue, all of which happen while the words "AWAITING TRANSMISSION" are shown. This causes the story to take far longer than any of the other Lifeline apps (I've played them all). The timing is so frustrating; just when I'm sick of staring at the screen and decide to move on to life IRL or another app I get a notification that the character needs me. Also, there's an annoying bug where I get a notification badge AFTER I exit the app, when no notification has actually occurred; but rarely is there a badge after a notification actually happened. I expect far better from these devs..Version: 1.0.2

Enjoying it so far, but...Another interesting lifeline story. I'm only part of the way through it, but I already have a few criticisms that can lead to frustration. I'm finding it very difficult to stay engaged in the story when the game makes me wait 5 mins after every single time I tell the protagonist to do something. I'd prefer it to be like the other lifeline games, where Taylor could do things while talking to you, and not make you wait five minutes for him/her to open a door. My second criticism is not giving us the full answer when we are given choices between responses. It makes it hard to decide what I want to say to Wynn when I don't even completely know what I'm going to say. Fix these issues and this game easily gets 5 stars from me..Version: 1.0.2

Liked itI've played all of the Lifeline games and enjoy them. Many reviewers complained that the earlier games went too fast. The reviews on this one say it goes too slow. I guess you can't make everyone happy. I've loved them all. I liked how much deeper this game was. My only negative about this one is how often I would tell her to do something and she would just refuse. Why give me an option? I know I have to frustrate her sometimes, but it happened even when it wasn't necessary..Version: 1.0.2

I don't like WynnI love all characters in lifeline series, Taylor, Adams, and Alex. But I don't like Wynn. It seems that she doesn't need me at all. I mean she did say something like "better than nothing", but she is not grateful at all! I tried my best just to make her feel better, but she was always like "Shut up I know what to do". Then why do I get the options to talk to her? Moreover, changing the past options doesn't change her pulse sometimes. Looks like a bug but I don't know exactly cause I didn't want to explore the story since the character was annoying. I didn't feel as bad as I was when I failed in other games of the series when I "killed" Wynn. I will not purchase another game of Wynn. And btw, I LOVE Adams. Please bring him back sooner!!!!.Version: 1.0.2

I love these games...The writing keeps me interested, the actual wait times both let me take a break and help with immersion and it's not a pain to go back and try something else if you screw up. I'm also a fan of whenever the main character asks me to check something because they are unable (it's the little things that matter). In this particular game they went the extra mile with that and I really appreciate that! (No spoilers) If they keep up this quality I'll definitely pick up any future games this company puts out..Version: 1.0.2

Loved it!I've been playing all of the Lifeline games and this is one of my favorites. It's longer than the Taylor stories and a bit more relatable. I got through in the first try instead of poking around the story time and time again. It wasn't that it was easier but that I knew what I would actually tell someone in that situation. It was slightly creepy without trying too hard and pretty awesome that sometimes you had to make the tough calls to keep the protagonist alive. Great game, can't wait for the next in the Wynn storyline!.Version: 1.0.2

Good game but....Like like Lifeline but this game was is ridiculously slow. It takes Wynn so much time to do anything and everything. Wynn spends half the game sleeping. And when she’s not sleeping takes 10 minutes to walk across a room and still nothing really happens. It would have worked a little better if Wynn walked you through what she was doing but instead it’s “wait, I have to do something mundane. See you tomorrow.” When she finally does get back to you she tells you she has to sleep and this may take a while. I almost felt like the person who wrote this intentionally wanted to annoy people. Very disappointed in this game..Version: 1.0.2

A thrilling experienceIt is genuinely challenging to find the way out. There are more than enough plot twists in the game and my tendency to play it safe definitely influenced the outcome. After a week I finally made it to the end, but it was hard and I stayed up many a late night trying to help Wynn through horrifying dilemmas and avoid nasty critters. There are things I would change, but it is what it is and it is quite exhilarating, to put it mildly. Well done to the Lifeline team on this one. Well worth the purchase..Version: 1.0.2

Choices don’t seem like choices at all..What’s the difference between ‘go slowly’ and ‘be careful’? Nothing. Don’t get me wrong. The storylines and characters are very interesting and compelling. But the decision trees should really branch out more rather then funnel you basically down the same path regardless of what you choose. Minor annoyance. A gender discussion was confusing when the main character doesn’t know whether you’re a man or woman. It’s a little strange since you can enter your name which can almost guarantee your gender 90% of the time. Threw me out of the story..Version: 1.0.2

Like realIt feels like I'm talking to a real person and it's not scary as much as it is thrilling, even for me , I'm a person who hates scary movies, this app makes it interesting in a way that is amazing but yet grasps the viewer with the exciting twist and turns that makes you feel as though your every piece of advice could help or hurt them. I feel this app is worthy of five stars since it is an entertaining app that makes it feel like you are talking with a real person..Version: 1.0.2

A little minorly major bug that might not even be a bugBefore I start I'm going to say that I've played all of the other lifeline games and LOVED them, this one is no different, however... I was about 5-6 days in when all of the sudden, the game lagged out, and shows (still does) all of my previous conversing with Wynn, but it restarted the game! With the same exact dialogue, not sure if this was supposed to happen... If it was, please get back to me soon!.Version: 1.0.2

Love the series!I took a chance on the first Lifeline game and have been addicted ever since. This installment of the Green Series is definitely the most difficult so far. I had to resort to looking online for cheats because I wasn't sure there WAS an ending where the main character lived. I apparently was just making wrong decisions. If this type of game is your thing, you can't go wrong here. Keep up the good work, developers!.Version: 1.0.2

HOLY HECK IT'S AMAZING!!!This game will keep you going. Wondering, worrying, and fearing if Wynn will be ok. The suspense you get with the real time interaction is insane! And some moves that you might think are keeping her safe, actually are what kill her. If you immersive yourself, you'll even fool yourself into believing that your actually helping a real person! It's amazing! I highly recommend and it's definitely worth the cost! Believe me, I was reluctant first, but it was so worth it!.Version: 1.0.2

Fun game! This was my first experience with a Lifeline game and now I'm going to look for more. As others have mentioned, wait times were a bit long, but I didn't mind because I had several games going so could visit one of the others! Really fun game that forced me to think rather than just shoot 'em up like in an RPG!.Version: 1.0.2

Great Game, But...First off this is probably the most fun game I've played ( for me at least ). The story is great the writing is fantastic but I do have one problem and it might just be me being impatient, but I hate the long wait times. You'll be making good progress and then you'll have to wait an hour and a half for Wynn to search a cabinet. That is about the only downside for me. Great game!👍.Version: 1.0.2

Holy. crap. This is by far one of the most amazing things ever. I have never been so engaged in an app in my whole life. I felt like I had control over the life of this fictional character-I got attached. This story is so engaging and unique and just leaves you on the edge of your seat wanting to learn more and more. And the whole concept of the heart rate made it all the more interesting..Version: 1.0.2

VERY interesting. It's been extremely hard for me to find a mobile game that I like but this...this is very hard to put down. Kind of like a good book, except that book has the reader making choices and affecting how the story goes. The music could be just a little better in my opinion but it's not bad enough to take away a star..Version: 1.0.2

Will this be upgraded to multiple endings?Because just this ending doesn't give us answers if the Green will be defeated and Wynn not dying also is there going to be a sequel to this storyline of this game series? Because it was great but I think it would be better if we had a window on what the character is actually seeing instead of them describing what's going on..Version: 1.0.2

Sooooooooo SlooooooooowI'm a fan of Lifeline & I have purchased every single game. This is the lowest rating that I've ever given to one, & it is because of the constant pauses. I usually enjoy the format & I don't mind waits. But I like a bit of action, & this time around there is oh, 5-10 seconds of reading between the character needing a 5 minute break. I'll be back for the next Lifeline game because this is the first time that I've encountered this, but I'm not sure that I'll even finish this one..Version: 1.0.2

Another. Bangin'. Story. The Lifeline Series have been my favorite on-the-go games to play, and ever since the original Lifeline, I often find myself searching the App Store to see if there have been any new Lifeline releases. 3 Minute Games can expect this loyal customer to buy every future release from the Lifeline series! (As long as we don't make another Whiteout 😉).Version: 1.0.2

Best game series everYou all are fantastic with your story-writing, and giving an alternate choice that results in a huge change of paths, it is insane. Cross referencing each other, with saying that New Tenacity was the start of this story, and linking the PWG in with Lifeline 2 and Crisisline, it's great. I'm surprised when I put down Taylor as my name it didn't give me a reference to Taylor in his/her story arcs..Version: 1.0.2

I like the plot, but the app doesn't work well sometimesThe story is fascinating. New horror theme instead of space adventure in the past several games. The only problem with this is that wynn is so slow and need to wait after each choice. The app doesn't work sometimes. There is no text on the screen and you need to close it from the background and restart to resume..Version: 1.0.2

Not my favoriteHonestly, this is the worst one for me in the series. It’s really boring waiting for her to do things. And even once she does and you get to fast forward, it’s still annoying because you pretty much trapped and don’t know which option to choose lol. I haven’t given up on it yet. I’m gonna keep trying, but i def don’t enjoy it as I did the others..Version: 1.0.2

Best One Yet, A Must Have For Fans. The story line is longer, decisions feel almost more critical. Each decision has me on edge and I’m so excited to see where Wynn ends up as I’m still playing rn. I’ve been playing these Lifeline games for a while now and this is my favorite so far. I absolutely love Flatline😊.Version: 1.0.2

Lifeline never disappointsSo. I love lifeline. The first game was amazing and I've loved all of them since. This one was also amazing and very mysterious and interesting. However, why do you have to wait so often. I swear to god it took Wynn 3 minutes to open a door! Besides that this was just one more amazing lifeline game!.Version: 1.0.2

My favorite so far!I usually don't write comments, but I had to for this story. This is my favorite story out of all the Lifeline games so far! I really enjoyed the horror atmosphere and was really engrossed the whole time. While I do like the sci-fi genre, I would really like to see more "horror" Lifeline games in the future..Version: 1.0.2

MehAfter playing Taylor’s three adventures this one is kind of a let down. The main character is quite unlikable and it doesn’t always follow your choices so it seems like the story is taking you where it wants instead of you choosing the path. The story is interesting but since the character annoys the heck out of you, you find yourself ignoring it..Version: 1.0.2

Another solid entryA little slower at first than the others and took me a bit to feel a connection to the character, but ended up being a great experience. Especially the nods and references to characters, organizations, and locations of the other Lifeline games..Version: 1.0.2

AmazingThe storyline is engaging and intriguing. Every time I got a notification I would immediately see what happened, it felt real every time I made a decision, and Wynn’s character was written amazing, she seems so human. Overall I highly recommend.Version: 1.0.2

AmazingI just got it and I already am attached to the character! I'm nervous most of the time and I'll answer just as I would in real life and I freak her out😂 I feel bad that the character has to deal with my anxiety as well as their own..Version: 1.0.2

Great!!Only thing that irks me is that the pulse isn't realistic at all! Unless Wynn was some Olympic medalist, there's no way his heart rate would drop so low. His heart rate wouldn't get that high either, unless he was some immensely overweight dude after a severe work out. He wouldn't be able to do what he does if he was, though!.Version: 1.0.2

Call me impressed!I don't normally get into mobile games, but I love horror as a genre. I HAD to try this one out and I am NOT disappointed. Extremely descriptive and immersive. At times I forget I'm playing a game and focus on keeping Wynn alive and calm. I have no complaints. I love it..Version: 1.0.2

The Great Story ContinuesJust finished game and it was scary good. Interesting chapter in the Green series. The scary storyline and soundtrack do give you chills. Just careful with app story crashing if you don't play it for a few weeks. App crashes and revers story back to the beginning..Version: 1.0.2

Awesome!I'm a huge follower of the lifeline series and I loved this game. The story was engaging, and seeing them delve into another genre is awesome. I love Wynn to death and I really liked the ending? It definitely adds a layer to the overarching "Lifeline" plot too. They say we'll see Wynn again, but the sooner the better..Version: 1.0.2

Incredible.I've never experienced a game like this, I legitimately was in suspense and fear for the character the whole time, not too hard or easy, this game is simply perfect, I wish it were even longer!.Version: 1.0.2

So many stops and I like to see everything I am going to sayI don’t wanna wait 5 minutes for her to open a door, feels like I’m playing resident evil 1, stuff doesn’t do what you mean. (Lifeline is amazing and one of my all time favorite games in the whole world but this just isn’t it).Version: 1.0.2

Please shorten awaiting transmission timesIt is hard to play this episode of the lifeline series because there is to much waiting. I am only able to play about 30 secs each time until there is another wait. Please make it shorter!.Version: 1.0.2

Very Interesting!Quite an interesting and intriguing game. Quite enjoyable all around. Yes there is some waiting but very enjoyable. If you like games that are different, you will probably enjoy this experience. Yes, I believe it is an experience not just a game. I like it. I like it a lot!.Version: 1.0.2

AmazingSo entertaining like all the others. Please bring lifeline back! It is the best game on Apple..Version: 1.0.2

Why?I can’t go back and retry a decision? Besides waiting every time you finish talking to Wynn, for like hours? Not great, also starting from scratch every time is really annoying and long, and there is no fast mode, but good story and situation.Version: 1.0.2

Apple watch issues, otherwise goodApple watch play doesn't work, and I bought this specifically as an Apple watch game for myself. Very frustrating. Please fix or I'll have to request a refund EDIT: Restarted my watch and it's working again. Hopefully problem doesn't come back.Version: 1.0.2

Needs improvement for IPhonesLove the game itself, it has a great storyline, but I highly suggest you improve settings for IPhone 7. You can turn off sound and music and see credits and such, but there is no option for chapter rewind or fast mode. This option is available for iPads though. I'm not sure if this problem is present with other models or devices, but I think it will greatly improve the experience if these options are added..Version: 1.0.2

Wynn's hard to like...Great game, great plot, as with all lifeline games. However, like with Arika from Bloodlines, Wynn is hard to like. Wynn at least has a creepy voice in her head to allow for her paranoia and general coldness. Still, great game otherwise..Version: 1.0.2

InterestingIt was an interesting game (fun too) and had some difficult choices here and there but I didn't really get attached to Wynn like I did with the other ones. Ex: Arika, Taylor, Alex..Version: 1.0.2

I really love the lifeline seriesThis game is a totally different lifeline. The real ending was very depressing i'm not spoiling anything I won't even say a word about The real ending.Version: 1.0.2

Amazing! I've played every lifeline game and this one is also a stellar entry in the series.Great game.Version: 1.0.2

Awesome!I really liked it and I'm a fan of Lifeline's stories! (Spoilers ahead) I honestly thought we were the alien inside her head! XD.Version: 1.0.2

Loved it!My first lifeline experience and totally can't wait to start another.... Though, I will miss Wynn! For those considering, this isn't a fast paced shoot 'em up style game. It plays out in real time. I wasn't sure at first I liked that but after a bit i realized it actually enhanced the experience. Made me feel connected in a realistic way. Thanks!.Version: 1.0.2

Even better than the previous gamesReally liked the previous Lifeline games but this one is even better! Looking forward to more in the future!.Version: 1.0.2

Love lifelineGreat addition to the story, but I found Wynn hard to like. It makes sense that she was quite paranoid and secretive since we are simply a voice in her head, but she wasn't nearly as charming as Taylor or the girl from the second game..Version: 1.0.2

Love itI actually find myself missing Wynn occasionally. I'd get so sad when I accidentally led her to her death. And while playing I felt attached and almost cared about what would happen. I hope her story continues..Version: 1.0.2

Great story, glad to have more. This was a great addition to the series. Loved the new character and setting. I saw a review that said it took five minutes to complete and I have no idea how that could happen, even with the choices I made it took me days to reach a rewind point. Keep trying, this is like a "choose your own adventure" book, lots of ways to get to a good ending..Version: 1.0.2

Great Game, Some GlitchesI'm not finished the game yet, but from what I've played it's okay. It's suspenseful at times, though it's quite repetitive. (Go through a hallway, look in the offices, sleep, repeat.) There's been a very annoying glitch where I start up the game and all the text will be gone. It will still show the heart rate monitor and settings button, but all of the text from the conversations with Wynn are gone. Sometimes it stays like this for days. All in all, it has potential, (Like I said I'm not finished yet.) but I still don't feel that connection with the character like in the original Lifeline..Version: 1.0.1

Lifeline: FlatlineGreat game. Riveting and clever. Highly recommend it..Version: 1.0.2

Great story..............LOOOOOONG PAUSESI’m really enjoying the story; however, the pauses between are way too long. I’ve been playing this game for weeks and, looking back at the dialogue, this is something that could have been read in a day. I’m thinking of deleting it without finishing. When my iPad has waited long enough to time out multiple times during active play sections, this is poorly designed timing. It almost feels like we’re the experiment, just to see if people have the patience to finish the game..Version: 1.0.2

Great! They did it again! Yet another awesome story in the lifeline series :) totally worth paying a few bucks for all of them. Only thing I don't really like is how the exact words on the option aren't always exactly what you say. And I'd like to see more places where you can look stuff up on the internet to help make decisions..Version: 1.0.0
