Mobile MOBA: Best In ClassI’ve dabbled in a few MOBAs on PC, and love the concept, but the community was awful, and the time commitment was unaffordable. Fast forward about six years, and I almost exclusively play video games on the phone these days (after kids are in bed). Arena of Valor combines a strong pedigree (produced by the owners of League of Legends), with a well-balanced community encouragement system, with great frame rates and visuals, mixed with a really nice tutorial that opens up the whole system for you over several days, mixed with joystick based controls that feel right at home on the phone. Oh, and disregard all the negative reviews about balance issues: This game has been out for *years* in China, so trust that those kinks have been smoothed out long ago—no offense to those reviewers but skilled players will win over unskilled players, all heroes have distinct strengths and weaknesses. I’ve played this longer than any multiplayer (video) game to date, to include my Counterstrike days. If you’re new to the concept of what a MOBA is or why you should play (you should), this is *the* one you want. And lastly, you don’t need to pay a cent to play with about a dozen different heroes and unlimited play time. You’ll be matched with players of equal skill regardless. I love this game but...I love this game to pieces. I’ve been playing for about two year on multiple accounts and it’s amazing. The characters are all unique, most are pretty fun, the graphics are amazing, and so many other positive things about this game, hence why I gave it five stars. For the most part all the characters are balanced but in the recent rework of Butterfly, where they changed how most of her kit worked, they, instead of increasing her pick rate and her play style, they instead made her broken, unfair, a nuisance, and over all just unfun to play against. I now dread lobbies where there is a Butterfly on either side. She no longer has to worry about positioning, and whether or not she can win a fight because now that she can spam her abilities(which got buffed drastically), she no longer has to worry about losing a fight. The flow that I’m seeing from most butterflies and the one or two games since the rework are : Ult onto a squishy(I.e. mage, marksman, supports) S1 to deal huge damage based on how many are hit since it scales and on top of that gain a rather large shield, S2 to finish the squishy. By this point she would already have her ult back, Ult, S1, S2 repeat. This seams like for the most part how old belt would work but the kicker is that she can HEAL from it. As long as she is spamming she can just keep spamming until the whole team is dead. In my opinion, I think they should nerf her overall or make it so she can’t spam abilities so she can regenerate almost all her health, similar to what they did to Quillen awhile ago, where he would be able to heal 2/3 of his health from one use. As I said, I love this game but Butterfly is making it unplayable..AhadhsbdbdheVersion: 1.37.1.9

Fun GameThis game is definitely enjoyable, but I’m not sure I see too much skill involved as far as controls. I’ve only been playing for a few weeks, but so far, it seems as though gameplay just consists of spam buttons. It is extremely difficult to overcome an enemy that has had a better start than you, which gets frustrating sometimes. As a long time Vainglory player, the action spamming in this game is quite enjoyable for a change, but once you’ve played for a few days, there isn’t too much strategy and skill involved, unlike Vainglory. Once you understand your heroes abilities, and the fun of spamming the “attack” button with Valhein starts to wear off, the game starts to lose some fun. Also, in the rare occasion that both teams are pretty equal, late game is a little annoying. Both teams just bunch up in middle lane and try to push, which takes forever, and I feel like the game doesn’t move forward. I mean, both teams can just keep killing each other forever, so I feel like this game is in need of something like the “kraken from Vainglory”. Although it does have the dragons, they do not really change the flow of the game as much as I would hope. However, I love the colorful roster of heroes and the 5v5 action. Overall, I feel as though this game is only really fun on the winning team, but has great potential with the wonderful heroes, so far so good community, and well known developer. Great game, but with a huge downsideI really enjoy this game a lot and I would love to keep playing it, but there is a MASSIVE downside to the game as well. I was playing the game normally and trying out new heroes and sometimes I would do REALLY bad. Like so bad I wouldn't get a kill. And I wanted to change heroes but I can't in the middle of the game and I knew if I left I would get penalized, so I continued playing. I would still get penalized because I would get reported by other players ( I think) and all of the reports would be valid. Now I have a credibility score of 69 ( no joke). You need 70 to play pvp and I can't get into a single multiplayer bot match after waiting for others to find me so I can do a multiplayer bot match for 10 MINUTES STRAIGHT!!! How am I ever supposed to play another pvp if I can't even get into a bot match to raise my credibility score up?! I think instead of doing it to where you can't play pvp, I think it should just be "play with people with the same credibility score". It would be so much more fair. If you get a credibility score below 70 and you try to get into a multiplayer bot match for 3 days like I did and can't seem to get into one game (even after waiting in several lobbies for 10+ minutes), then I would just consider deleting the game because let's face it... you're not going to get into another pvp match and you're going to be stuck playing 1v1 bots all day..ThatDude2412Version: 1.34.1.10

Solid. Not perfect, but solid.The featured review on this game that’s been in the App Store for months touts it’s balanced because it’s been out for some time in China. This game has characters that are not balanced. They even made an April fools joke this year about the bad balance. I am not a new player, and though I’m not a pro, I don’t consider myself to be bad. There are several characters that can take on others 2-3 v1. Also, several mages can build full tank and still 2 shot. Marksmen in the game, though all semi squishy, range from blaster 2 shoters to useless potatoes. I do really like this game. I’ve played enough to have made gold rank in 3 separate seasons and hit level cap. I’ve bought several characters and am exited about the new updates. But I can’t write a review that claims this game is balanced more than any other MOBA or that the new characters for sale don’t hit the game turned up a little higher than what’s fair and need a nerf in the following patch. (Looking at you Superman) At the end of the day you can unlock all non cosmetics for 100% free and only need to buy stuff if you don’t wanna wait. There is NO pay to win and it’s not hard to unlock the arcana (runes) that you need to min/max just from playing the game to level cap. One side note I would have to new players. Be willing to play more than 1 character type, don’t be the guy racing to lock in 1 character and refuse to play anything else, mix it up! And remember- how many kills you get means nothing if you only get losing reward at the end of the match..Witheringpond6Version: 1.22.1

Highly entertaining game but...Game is flawless so far, no bugs, easy going etc. The only issue I’ve ran into is the matching system, it happened at least to me since the last patch, I was a 60% win rate player both in classic mode and ranked before the last patch, after the patch I get matched against full diamond ranked teams me being platinum at the time now gold II with a 46% win rate, I get matched with every kind of troll in the game and AFK player, me getting a kda of a minimum of 2-4 deaths and 5 to 10 kills in one game while my team is composed of feeders and an afk,I didn’t know what a losing streak was till now, 16 losses in a row is just pitiful thanks to afk players and trolls or feeders, the matching system honestly should be fair and not place a diamond team against a team of silver or gold players with less than 1000 matches and the hero selection screen should be changed into something where players get divided into the role that suits them the most for example if a player is good with Butterfly (assassin/jungler) the game should give that player the option to call jungle or fill spot before anyone else does and give priority to that player to jungle, I’ve run into people who play a hero like Murad who in my opinion is the hardest jungler assassin to master in RANKED for the first time costing the match to other players, besides all that the game is near perfect and enjoyable, I rate it a 4.2 for now..RyuzukiiVersion: 1.25.1

TL;DR - Hey, it’s goodThere are of course some hiccups here and there but being that it’s still newer to North America, I’m sure they’re plenty aware of what’s going on. The only reason I can’t 5 Star is due to the the fixation on negativity by the game itself. AFK warnings posted all over every menu, you get sent a message every time (yes, every time) a team member (usually chosen at random) has connectivity issues followed by a warning for you to not do the same thing, all kinds of info given on consequences for every reason, and then caps are placed on gold and exp. I really like this game, but the restraints and lack of positivity take their toll. Speaking of the gold cap, I don’t understand why it’s there. We earn such a minimal amount for winning matches that it has yet to feel “worth it” when trying to save for a specific character. Plus, what benefit does buying all the characters do for anyone when battling? There aren’t any special weapons to be bought with gold that are then used in battle to make your character wreck the entire enemy team right as the battle starts or something. If there wasn’t the cap, I know that I’d keep playing long after I got all the characters as they are released because it wouldn’t change how anyone battles. So, why limit something that doesn’t effect or enhance the main reason almost all of us have the game? I don’t know if there will be more of a focus on having a positive, or even civil, interaction within the community but I would really enjoy seeing that. The best mobile game you can ever haveThis game is good, it also very fun to play and when you lose, you may learn from your lost and get improved on your reflexes, strategy mind and maybe also you can figured out that add someone as a friend and then never invite them to play with you means that they will never will be in the same team with you.(Golden tip for avoiding feeders!) Or when you struggle to win because of the feeding team you have and after only one big combat, the team pushed to the end and win, that feeling is super good. It can even gives you goosebumps and super fast heartbeat when you had a little HP left, exiting the combat and returning to the base but suddenly something kills you in just matter of seconds. Sometimes the game opens events that let you have free champions or even free skins by just playing daily and finish missions. This game, through, I recommend not to play a regular 5v5 and especially not the Ranked Match when you have some “10-minute spare time”, because believe me, being an afk is not the best experience for you and even for your teammates trying to have some serious yet fun time with their favorite game and having an afk on your team on a ranked match will not have so good results. So have fun with this super awesome game, but remember everyone is also trying to have fun too! Keep everything bad you have, apparently, observed from other players, just ignored it and look at their good side. Having fun with others doesn’t necessarily mean that you must win, you can lose when you’re playing with some friends and look back later and just smile for how awesome this game is and how it brought you and your friends together, spending some time playing it. < 70 Credibility? You’re screwed.Title says it all. For those who haven’t gotten the game yet, credibility score is something that is designed to keep you from being an overall bad person when playing, which is fine. The real issue is how you get credibility deducted, and how much, and the penalties for a low one. The score goes up to 100, and below 90 you cannot join ranked matches. Okay, that’s fair. But below 70 and you can’t join standard PvP matches you HAVE TO play Player vs AI/Bots. The problem is, no one plays vs AI. My score is 69. If I finish one, just ONE AI match, I’m good. But the queue never pops. There is also the issue of reporting. Reporting someone can deduct 10+ points off of their score. And you can get reported for anything! Hell, if someone is feeling particularly douchey, they can report you for cheating because you beat them and they’re a sore loser. Personally, most of my credibility loss is due to bad connection, which results in unintentional AFK. Being AFK deducts your score by itself, but get reported for it? Well you’re screwed. I just wish the score deduction wasn’t so severe, and you could recover from it. If you have a < 70 credibility score, just get grouped with other people with low credibility. The whole deal with the AI matches is stupid because you can never recover. Aside from my rant, this is an amazing game. I really enjoy, I wouldn’t be complaining about NOT being able to play it if I didn’t. Just make sure you’re a team player, and for the love of all that is or is not unholy, play on a good connection. You’ll regret it if you don’t..Princess StarshimmerVersion: 1.28.2

Well rounded MOBAI’ve played many MOBA games over the past 7 years and have to say that AOV is king of the hill. From great graphics and frame rate to a skilled META that takes patience and skill to learn. It’s not an easy game, but I come back every day for that reason; it doesn’t get old and challenges you anew day after day. It does have its downfalls, though... but so do others: The newer characters feel unbalanced, or in gaming terms “OP”, nerfs and buffs don’t seem to happen as often as they should and eye catching advertisements are everywhere, only a few buttons/icons really have anything to do with playing the game, or adjusting settings etc., most of the icons take you to a place with menus and sub menus to spend your hard earned cash on well overpriced items: tickets, orbs, scrolls in two different forms. The value of the items coded into the game are less than the price set. Also teammates going afk are prevalent in ranked matches. You will lose and also lose a star, a...hard...earned...star. You will be punished for your teammates decision to go afk and that is far from fair. AOV has its ups and downs and is far from perfect as a game in whole, but as a MOBA it’s mechanics, gameplay and META are far superior to anything else on the market. You will spend money on overpriced items, teammates will go afk... but you won’t find a better MOBA..DokktorDedVersion: 1.28.2

Bad United States Server - Bad CredibilityThis game has a great community. I always see invites in global, friends will invite that you just met, and you can see who is the best in server or of friend group in many categories so that’s fun competition. Also, there are more than enough champions to learn and choose from and they take skill to be good with so matchmaking is pretty balanced. Some resemble champs from other MOBAS as usual but the skills are mixed up so learning them is very entertaining and plenty of them are authentic! This is probably my favorite MOBA out of MLBB and Wild Rift, but i’m about to be banned from playing with anybody and it is not my fault.😩 My credibility has been above 95 since the first time it got there and now I’m at 75 within 24 hours because I lose connection to the server after the game loads or even if I found a match already. Not fair punishment at all. I would like to see a different system in case it does say there’s a connection problem with the server specifically and not our personal connection or Wi-Fi since it is out of our control. I have yet to see any “real” new events that has tasks for good rewards like skin shards champion shards maybe a skin if you finish all tasks etc. Main issue is the server not dropping connection because I will not be able to enjoy this masterpiece soon..BackAlleySushiVersion: 1.50.1.2

Good game, some suggestionsAs Tencent owns Riot games (creator of League Of Legends, which is a great game, play it now) I think they knew what they were doing when they created arena of valor. It’s a fun moba with everything you could want; a 3-lane map, a good roster of heroes, and a thorough tutorial. You should definitely download and give it a try. However I do have a couple of complaints/suggestions. Firstly, I think you should enforce the positions on a team (ie you queue up with, for example, jungler primary and top lane secondary and the game puts you on a team to fit in with one of those two positions, much like draft mode in League of Legends, only it doesn’t necessarily have to be a draft pick for characters, just that style of matchmaking). Every once in a while, you end up with someone who has a bot lane champ who shuns you out of mid lane, or have to go 2v1 on top lane and get crushed because your teammate followed the meta and was a jungler. Also, I would like an option for the reccomended item descriptions to not turn off after a while, because sometimes I’m in a teamfight and the descriptions turn off and later its inconvenient to have to open the shop. To sum things up, Arena of Valor is a great game with a couple of flaws, and it is definitely worth checking out. Good luck in ranked games, and have a wonderful day. Flakes and Win RatesAs a first-time MOB player, I would say that this game is definitely addicting! I can literally play for hours on end! But this does not bypass the minor annoyances that have occurred along the way:/ Most irritating is the fact that the other players that you are paired up with have just as much of a hand in the amount of wins and losses you accrue as you do. Now that is all fine and dandy when everyone wants to win and everyone is trying their absolute best. Those games are the greatest! But when 1/3 of your games have had a player (sometimes 2 players) drop out, then your win rate falls drastically! Everyone knows that it’s harder to push a boulder up a hill than to let it fall. That is what is definitely happening here. 1/3 of my matches involves players that want the boulder to roll down the hill. (Don’t even get me started on the surrenders! But even those make sense because a vote 3 to 2 should end the game if the majority of your team wishes it so). That said, I do think that it is great that you can report players in order for the system to verify and deliver penalties. But in the end, that reported player still affects my win rate (and everyone else’s) after the fact, whether they receive a penalty or not. I know this is a difficult issue to fix, thus my review maintains that this game still deserves the 4 stars that I have given. I have been tossing around my own ideas, but maybe other user-generated ideas will lead to, maybe not a solution, but a better way to manage this problem. PotentialThe overall game has potential but there are a few problems like being matched with over powered heroes and teams. You get destroyed in the game. The game is also too technical in the sense that you have to choose a bunch of different setting and it makes the game complicated. Some choosing is ok but having to set up so much is crazy. The interface is complicated and sometime you cant remember what to click to get to where u need to. Their is lag and delays but not all the time. The game has a huge selection of heroes but it take long time to ramp them up. You cannot play rank 5 vs 5 until you complete a few games on rank 1 player then ranked 3 vs 3 which is just idiotic. If you have an old account but don't want to link to Facebook then you are screwed because you will lose your game if you have to reinstall for any reason. This game does have potential because the graphics are excellent and the game is fun once you get passed all the things mentioned above. I will try LOA (legends of ace) and see if it is any better. Something needs to be done.I love the game. I have been playing MOBA’s for years and this is one of my favorites. The controls are user friendly, the lay out is understandable in comparison to a year ago. The game runs well and has fantastic graphics. The hero selection is robust and there is a game mode for everyone. I play quite a lot and I’ve been getting into ranked a lot but, (here is explanation one for the 3 star rating) I can’t seem to get into the game in a timely fashion. I’m late to almost every game and I have full WiFi signal and no lag and sometimes the app crashes on me. (iPhone 8) I can run every other game (Hearthstone, Pokémon GO, PUBG) I just can’t load in or keep the app from crashing in AOV. (This leads me to my 2nd reason) Since I’m unable to load in when everyone else does, especially in ranked, I get reported for being afk. Although it is in no way my fault. So now here I sit wanting to play the game I spend money on and I’m not able. How to fix the crashing and load time I’m not sure. How to fix being reported for being afk when I didn’t intentionally leave? That I do know. Solution? Don’t penalize people for your games bug. If you are going to make a system that you can appeal the report. Allow the players to give an explanation of why those points should not be removed. Again, I’m trying to get my rank up and I can’t because of a problem with your game/my phone or both. Only allowing to recover 5 points a day doesn’t help when you get 6 taken from you and can only get 5 more every 24hrs. I would love a response into this matter because I’m quite curious as to what your plan would be to alleviate this issue. Skilled player matching for ranked modeI live this moba I’m a huge fan on Pc versions of the genre and have found two in the mobile world that have held my attention. This being the main one I play almost every day. My issue is this: upon trying to reach platinum v for thane chief knight skin valor quest reward in ranked mode this season which I woulda easily managed had it not been for a few specific key players who had not intentionally done anything wrong but we’re clearly not in there league anymore. This could be due to people who’ve been carried by friends who later play solo and because they’re rank is high because of pure match wins and skill is low a player the match is lost causing four players to loose the chance at said rewards. Now the season was plenty long enough but my work schedule as a cell tower climber is hectic and hard to find good service all the time but when I got it I’m on and playing all in all good time. Just wish for better match making as far as individuals skill and role stats vs pure win. It’s easy to win with friends who know your play style... not so much when you’re playing with for random people who are hoping you under stand the mechanics well enough to carry your role..SGM TakaVersion: 1.30.2.4

Continues to deliverI’ve been playing this game around a month or so and I’ve never been so attached so a MOBA like this before. The gameplay is fast-paced and well designed (just a small nitpicking, could it have more map options) it’s easy to pick up any character in the game (and with a little practice and understanding of the move set) and be good with them. I love how the game isn’t pay to win and has a heart toward f2p players as they give you a good amount of characters by just playing the game, and earning a good amount of in-game currency will get you that one character you really wanted to try out as they do have a testing mode for a character you are trying to buy to see if that character really suits your playing style (I recommend playing as the joker because he is really enjoyable). But this game isn’t without its flaws. Some characters feel way better then others and a little outdated as with there move set (the guy who rides the swords into the screen) and could be changed to feel a little worth picking up. Beautiful but So-So StunfestEvery game in existence will have its fanbois telling you to play non-stop to get better and learn counters, etc., etc (while convincing you it doesn’t require a lot of time). And it will have its detractors saying it is pure garbage. AOV is a beautiful and well designed game at its core. However, initially fun and interesting play is quickly overshadowed by poor matchmaking, AFK’ers, and balancing that favors control. I would jump on HOTS if I wanted 50% pure garbage matches and playing with a fidget spinner while I wait for my stunlock volley to wear off. So if you want to go hardcore/play with friends/are one of those mindless drones who have a blast 24/7 because you can ignore design issues: have fun. If you’re familiar with MOBAs/play solo-casual and don’t want the usual frustrations: stay away. AOV treats you like all games in this genre seem to. It shoves you into a lurch between repeated garbage matches (even those you win) and rare nail biters with reliable teammates/comps that reel you back in. Regardless, it merits a try if I haven’t convinced you otherwise; there are a lot of great features and F2P friendliness. But if you’re like me: a casual 30-something gamer that doesn’t have time to live in front of a device anymore, quit before you convince yourself that “maybe this time will be better/more fun.” 75% of the time it will not be..JBneatoVersion: 1.20.1

Can be improved ALOTI downloaded this game because I was looking for a mobile league of legends. At first I was having fun, destroying enemy teams because I actually knew how to play a MOBA. Then the problems started to emerge, and it totally killed the game for me, to the point that I uninstalled it. The biggest issue is the controls, they are horrible. If you are an auto attack reliant hero, then you can’t reliably target who you want. There are so many times when I wanted to jump in as Zanis and CC the enemy carry, but instead I jump the opposite way and CC a jungle monster. The controls need heavy improvement, otherwise the game is nearly unplayable. The other major issue was the lack of role enforcement. I lost so many games because I would call jungle, but someone on my team would pick Butterfly and go jungle anyway. You need a system that allows people to queue for a specific role, so that you don’t end up with 2 people fighting over a role mid game. The last thing that killed this game for me was the DC character sellout. I understand Tencent has rights to the characters, but part of the fun of MOBA is all the unique characters to play. There is nothing unique about copy pasting a comic book character into a game. If Tencent wants to make use of its rights to the DC characters, then at least make it its own game rather than dumping them into this one..DongpongkingkongVersion: 1.20.1

AMAZING but not without flawsThis game is really good and fun. Ima start with the pros and move into cons. The game plays well and is very easy to get into. This game has a WIDE variety of characters and strategy’s. Take puera for example. Puera has a very powerful ability to heal her allies. But she has a downside of having very little damage. Or chrest. Chrest is a antlantic themed hero. He starts off rather weak having a weak ability pool. But his ultimate changes that. He can turn into a giant version of himself. He gains a shield that has the same amount of health as him. Doubling his health pool for a short time. The rest of his ability’s turn into high damage heavy offense attacks. Now to look at the cons. The game has really bad balancing. The starter character vallhein is extremely powerful. He does massive damage that only increase the more he attacks you. His ability’s are incorporated into his basic attacks. If he does a certain amount of basic attacks he gets one ability. Every time his ability hits it increases his fire rate. And he always has ability’s on the side that allow him to spam attacks when he starts a fight and gain insane fire rate. He also has an ultimate that can increase his movement speed allowing him to catch up to any character in a blink of a eye. And last but not least. One of his ability’s stun you. So you can’t fight back or run away unless you have anti stun. And another con is connection issues. If you lag a tad bit you can die rather quickly to a tower which takes 1/8 if your health every second despite how weak or strong you are. All in all this game is fun but extremely annoying when people decide to play dirty..Justin. YVersion: 1.28.2

Good game hidden behind cluttered menus.First off, I play and love League of Legends. Both games are made by tencent so I hoped for a similar game with the same kind of mechanics being that they already technically own the most popular and successful MOBA out there. I wasn't disappointed and I think it is a very in depth and technical game as League is...maybe not quite as much but it's alot better than I was expecting from a mobile game. My only problem with this game,which is big enough of an issue to where I even prefer vain glory to this sometimes, is how cluttered everything is. The menus are just cluttered with so much extra nonsense going on and all these log in bonuses and spin wheels are unnecessary and are a major drawback to the actual good game. A couple reviews I've seen of Vain Glory have people praising them for nice clean menus with no extra garbage and events and activities like this game constantly has. I feel like a lot of games do this now and it discourages a lot of people from playing the game just because how much is going on that you have literally no clue what any of it is or what functionality it serves. Is it important if I spin and collect all the things? Will it improve how I play? Do I want it too??? I just want simple menus that will let me navigate to what I need to and just play the game..CallMeBigSenpaiVersion: 1.23.1

Need to balanceHey i played the game a couple of time and i loved it. the only thing that i hates about is the way heroes are balanced. it brought to my attention that some of the heroes that i faced are a little too buffed and i figure that maybe you don’t want to nerf the hell out of some of the people’s favorite use heroes but it just doesn’t seem to make the games fun anymore. some buffed heroes like superman and Veera is just making the “fun” in it not really fun at all. also that your hero called butterfly seems to be way op. i played against her and she just kill me with 3 hits. it just makes me want to quit the game. if you just have normal heroes and have buffed up heroes just thinking that it’s fine then you should rethink that. also that the gold you gain in the battle seems to be slow for me that isn’t fair since that my opponents produce faster than me and they didn’t jungle a lot and that they were on the same level as my team. another thing to consider is the gold that we earn after the battle. i seem to gain barely anything and most of the stuff are expensive and i don’t want to keep on playing and playing if i can’t earn enough to get something from the shop. lastly the equipment is bs since you can barely build up anything. most of the equipment are either just part of the item tree you are building up or too expensive to get in battle. you need to balance everything up and fix it before people get bored of this. people always wish for a mobile like league of legends but every mobile like game just falls apart. we all wish for one not to be rigged but right now, this is just making heroes way to op at this point. also that can you make a system where we can use gems to buy gold because the gold we gain is really low and there has to be a way where we can gain gold fast and gems are the perfect way to do it since we barely use them.RkpchengVersion: 1.23.1

Very fun but needs a lot of balanceI’m very fond of mobas and I’ve played them for about 8-10 years and I’ve recently started to play this game, while playing I noticed that the higher cost players clearly have a lot more power and mobility then Lower class players SPecifically the super Hero characters are beyond broken. I understand that some characters are supposed to have strengths but some of them have 0 weaknesses besides CC. Before releasing any character there should atleast be 3-4 characters the counter him fairly well, but players such as flash running in and doing massive dig with using a ability that you can’t target him is way beyond. Especially when if you put him ability to ability to most mages he significantly out damages them with the same build. If your willing to spend atleast 20$ on the game I’d say buy it go nuts, but if not I wouldn’t waste your time. Go to a moba with more balanced corrections. Just because the game has time with it doesn’t make it balanced. For instance I was a HEAVY smite player reaching top 10 in the world for a couple of years and was the game balanced ? Definitely not. AMAZINGSince you don’t need to pay money to actually become good (unlike other games) I have been playing this game for over two years. My whole family plays it (except for my mother). It is very good to socialize with people since there is chats with your friends and also since COVID kinda disabled meeting other people! Please get my account back!!I love this game! Until I tried to log on last night and the auto-login for FB(Facebook) somehow linked to a different account (I have two FB accounts, one for games and one for social). The new linked account has ZERO progression, so I have lost all my invested time and a little money. All my unlocked characters, my full arcana pages, skins, my Joker!!!, all gone! When I log back out and try the guest login, the games says My account is already linked my other FB acct, and that I need to login to FB, but then when I try to login through FB again it takes me to the other acct again! The in-game support is nothing but an endless loop of automated chat. This is going nowhere fast! I am really upset at this. And to top it off, I’m being asked to update (iOS) the game version, but as usual, no update can be found in the App Store. Hopefully someone from TenCent can help resolve my issues. Great Game but...I really love playing Arena of Valor and everything about it but the latest update or any update that comes tends to increase the chances of crashing... and that really ruins my experience... Player based rankingsSo far, this game has a up and downs particularly team fights that’s either a 50/50 chance of making a mistake but whenever I begin to queue in with players who aren’t skilled or having a very bad day practically cause my downfall for most of my matches. But then my losses increases dramatically due to having players that are very quite unskilled and continue to jeopardize most of my matches. I hope there is a way besides taking a break from AOV and coming back to it in couple of hours didn’t quite change much. I’ve been running into these problems mainly from rank where players based skills are lacking in almost all of my matches including my lost which affected my behavior of the game to become unresponsive or uncommunicative to my team. It made things easier when I do things on my own if my teammates doesn’t listen or awareness to be exact. This statement can be unnecessary but this is what I am conflicted towards to. Another issue, whenever team fights commences. If I was getting controlled, does the cc:stun,slow,airborne,etc. does these effects stacks up or replaces the existing cc? Whenever I was through with team fights as a tank I’ve been through a cc chunk which I couldn’t do anything from being stunned for 5-7 seconds which led to me being either useless or intentionally dying due to this problem. It gave me a problem if the cc are adding extra seconds/stacking up even a resistance couldn’t break the cc out. I hope you guys help make changes with the CC due to huge disadvantage towards players behavior which I’ve seen and heard from other players IN-GAME. Overall, this game is very well used and designed for strategies with the map changes/terrain per match. Good, but champions & maps needs reworkOut of all the 5v5 mobile game, Arena Of Valor is probably second best to the very popular Mobile Legend BB. However, now with Wild Rift release Arena Valor seems outdated & outmatched. It’s holding on by pumping new heroes and skins, which is fun, but the game system itself is lacking. Literally old champions are so outdated that playing them means you’re playing on hard mode, unless you get match with bots/nubs. And the map appearances has barely changed over the years. I’m not writing this to bash or say Arena Of Valor is a terrible 5v5, as I really enjoy it and had fun playing. I just wish that the devs would focus on the actual game fundamentals/functionality rather than pumping a bunch of skins to try and hold on to players. Arena of Valor (game review)I love this game soo much, I always come back to this game no matter what. It’s a very intriguing game with multiple modes, awesome skins, and great abilities. I often find myself trying to acquire all the characters and their skins and also trying to get better with them all of course 😄. The only thing as a player that I would like to see improved is the report system, sometimes you'll be harassed by toxic teammates that threaten to report you just because they’re looking for someone to blame. Then the result is an unfair credibility score decrease. On another note, I would like to see the other arcade modes unlocked more often and mayhem to be open more often. Could have been a favorite...I haven’t played a ton in the genre of VS types of games however, this one was gearing up to hit the top of my favorite games list. Not only did I enjoy the graphics but, the characters have enough uniqueness to keep things interesting. My whole account is lost(update)I haven’t played this game for about a month or two but still had it downloaded- I played all the time wuth my older brother who I introduced to the game. Amazing Game. Little Explaining. Toxic Community.Incredible game, super fun! Love playing with my friends online. Two biggest draw backs are that they don’t explain nearly anything to you. Pretty goodThis is almost like a rip off from Vain Glory. VG was released in 2014 and AV was released in 2016. The arena maps look very similar in concept. Notable differences is that in AV, you do not need to go back to starting point to purchase upgrades, it is done as you play via pop up selectors on the left. The other major difference is the method of moving your hero. In VG, you tapped the screen for the direction or the place you wanted the hero to move to and in AV it is done by an onscreen joystick. If you are proficient in VG, then this game should be a a cake walk for you. The attack and defence methods are pretty much the same. Account gone because of update & horrible supportI have played this game religiously for 4-5 years. I haven’t spent a single penny on my account and earned everything myself through countless of hours and hard work, including limited skins & gotten myself to master rank, by myself, over several seasons. Tell me why for the most recent update, important information was left out regarding login options. The information being: we would not be able to login using Gamecenter anymore, so maybe anybody using Gamecenter as a login option should link another login to the account. I have emailed support several times and all I receive back are copy and paste responses saying “Gamecenter is no longer supported, please login using Apple ID, Facebook, or VK.” I have asked if there would be any way for me to ever get my account back, one that I’ve spent YEARS earning what I have, and I still get the same response. The game devs clearly do not care about how long you’ve played their game or how much time and effort you’ve put into it. If I could just “login using apple/Facebook/VK” I would have done that already, but I can’t, and I never received any type of warning about the login update AT ALL. So, in conclusion, my account is gone which is extremely unfair to me, and the support I received was terrible regarding my situation. This MOBA Can Use So Much Work.First things first, the servers don’t ever let you understand what good ping is. 200 ms becomes normal and it’s sad because my WiFi is new at that. Don’t even get me started on how many skins there are and how strong mages are. Not to mention tanks because that’s a whole other level of overpowered. Most of Tencent’s priorities are money and skins as their other games also demonstrate. The gameplay is the best part yet it isn’t even fun. I won’t talk about the players since that isn’t in any dev’s control but can the report system get better? Back to the gameplay. The map for 5v5 is balanced with hardly any issues. My main issue here is the heroes. Marksman that have harass are just the pinnacle of broken. They are supposed to scale late game and be weak early. Why are marksman good in every stage of the game? With mages, they are the same problem. Now tanks. Please save me from the tanks. They have an early game that depends on the player and late game or mid game makes you wonder why you installed the game to begin with. Every tank has damage, tank items are overtuned so it allows for them to go full AP after a medallion and mail of pain. Their base stats are high and their damage is insane for a hero who is supposed to tank yet not deal much damage. Connection Issues, Balance IssuesTo start off with, I’ve played a ton of mobile mobas, and AOV is, in my opinion, the best by far. I even enjoy it more than LoL. That is until a few weeks ago when the Carano Chess update released. Ever since then, the game is all but unplayable. First, it was the lag. Engaging enemies has become extremely risky because I don’t know if I’ll be able to control my character or if it will continue to walk forward into its death while i stare at a frozen screen. I can’t even lane safely because I might lag and walk under the enemy tower. But this was fine, i still enjoyed the game and it didn’t lag too often so I just stopped playing ranked. Then I started getting disconnected so I contacted customer, but never heard back. Around the same time, Timi reworked Jinnar into the most obnoxiously overpowered midlaner in the game. He was basically unkillable under ult. This was especially frustrating because i play a lot of midlaners, and i had to deal with connection issues. Now, if this was a one-off, I could ignore it, but it took them a week to fix it, and it happens all the time. Nearly every new hero is permabanned for weeks or months because Timi can’t balance heroes. They recently nerfed Jinnar, but prior experience tells me it’s only a matter of time before there’s another permabanned hero. The game would be great if the servers were consistent and the heroes were balanced, but neither of those have been the case for a few weeks now. That said, the game is still fun to play when the servers work, so it gets 2 stars. tldr; best mobile moba, but servers are wonky and the devs can’t balance. Absolutely terrible gameIts been 2-3 years since i last played, was Master rank (second highest), quit because the game started to become trash and unbalanced , and now I’ve returned to see what has changed. I played for about a week and I’m confident to say that the game is absolutely trash now. Champions are changed so much that either they are too weak and has changes that was unnecessary, or they are too strong and still remained too strong over 2 years. Icons of characters and characters skins that are supposed to be changed aren’t. There is no more free champion rotation every week anymore which is super scummy because the players have to spend more time to buy a character that they have never ever tried in a real match, only to be disappointed. No events, the rewards are trash, runes that requires the player to stick to one specific build still exist which is unbelievably stupid, the match making is unbalanced and frequently disconnects the player for no reason; and a 9 years-old with a brain can easily get to high rank very easily, only to be stomped on by sweatty players who gate keep the rank. Tldr don’t play this game, go play another game like mobile legend or something cause the game started to be trash 3 years back then, and it hasn’t changed and gone worse now and the devs do not care about the game anymore..NightlyMenelikVersion: 1.50.1.2

Report System is BrokenDecent game overall, minus being unbalanced all the time. That’s most 5v5 games though, so it’s not a huge issue. The two main issues are bot games and the report system. Unless you’re Diamond ll or above, you’re in bot lobbies. There might be one other real player, but all of your opponents are bots. You’re gonna win 20 games in a row with zero skill at all. Then, you’re gonna get thrown into a game with 9 other real players, and get waxed because you’re used to playing against bots. It doesn’t mean you’re necessarily bad, you’ve just never had to play a single real person before. Also, the report system is beyond awful. You report someone for being AFK or feeding all game? Yeah they’re not gonna get punished at all. You have a a bad game, maybe go 5/7/5? Yeah you’re gonna get mass reported by salty teammates and get your cred score dropped ten points for no reason. Oh you want to appeal that? Never gonna happen. They’ll tell you they look at it, but they don’t really. Almost none of your reports ever come to anything, and you will constantly be mass reported for having a bad game. That itself isn’t the problem, that’s just people being salty. The problem is that you always lose credibility score for it. 100% of the time, because the system assumes if someone is being mass reported they must have done something. Basically, the report system is broken and the devs don’t care enough to fix it. It’s a fun game to play, just expect to be reported and have lots of bot games. Oh by the way, marksmen are completely overpowered. If you get Hayate or Tel’annas a couple hundred gold ahead of everyone else, you’ve won the game. In all honestly, just don’t botherI didn’t want to rate this a 1 because it can be fun if you play with friends, but for the rest of the game, it’s terrible. You won’t get a connection warning until after you already enter a match, in which it tries but will fail to reconnect you. And after it says you can’t get reconnected you get penalized for it as going afk. When penalized it takes down your credibility score, and if your score goes below 90, you cannot play ranked. So not only is this game bad when it comes to servers (I have crazy wifi, 20 ping when playing Xbox, but 140 when playing a match here) the characters are super unbalanced. And there is an abundance of crowd control in this game with minimal was to counter it. And none of those ways are even effective at that. Also the people, if you know the stereotype of league of legends players, think of it as a mobile version of those players, but with less iq. You will get reported for anything that slightly annoys one of your teammates and those reports will penalize you without even being checked whether they are valid or not. No balanceThe game has zero balance I been playing it for quite a while and tried tons of builds even suggested pro builds doesn’t matter if your tank or straight up ad you get murdered and I had really good set ups and builds and now they don’t even work right and I do it same way every time which is really dumb cause there’s always someone who gonna have more power than you and it’s hard as hell to accumulate gold to get champs and the people are constantly talking smack and putting people down I feel for new players and unless your really good don’t expect invites cause people only wanna play with good players and the towers go down way to fast there’s just no time to have and enjoy a good game cause you will get dived at towers early game by whole team and towers do crap for damage if you want a quick game and same champs all the time and some good games but mostly bad ones then this is the game for you but if you are like me and like more of a league of legends base game play hero’s evolved cause it’s way better and more balanced and you can actually get champs I just started that game 2 days ago and already have more champs than aov and I been playing for months and don’t bother reporting in this game either it’s basically a slap on the wrist they can get points back up within a few games so download at your own risk........NinjaJesterVersion: 1.23.1

Save yourself from the frustrationI go to play a ranked match, the game is loading. Suddenly I am forced out of the app. I open the app again, it takes awhile to load again. I finally get into the match and one of my teammates is telling everyone to report me and is constantly insulting me. I did what I could but my team lost. I lost a total of 13 credibility points for something that I had absolutely no control over. You are only able to recover five credibility points per day. Which means that I will need to play 13 matches over the next three days so that I can participate in ranked matches. I could understand being punished for something that I had done intentionally, but honestly I did nothing wrong. I remember playing call of duty and seeing people kick others from lobbies. I believe that something like that may have happened during that particular match. Either way the report system is just as bad as the customer support. I attempted to contact them and explained the situation but they don’t even care enough to let you speak to a real person. I will not spend a penny on this game and I regret buying anything in the beginning. The community is toxic and only abuse the report system. The 3.0 patch made marksman ridiculous tanks with the introduction of shields. Diochan who is a mage is now nearly immortal when played well. They are now introducing a gacha type system for skins increasing the cost, and I have heard of players attempting to get a skin and paying 200 dollars and still not being able to collect enough fragments to get the skin. Over powers Markman charactersI don’t really understand why Yorn and 2 other marksman characters are really really fast and can best a whole team without a problem. Should I be cheap too? And just play Yorn? It seems your game is very unbalanced and the only thing that really made me interested is the DC characters which are good for the first game you play then all the sudden they are very weak for like 5 games. Balance your marksman characters and everything else. I’ve spent enough money and played enough of this game to see the flaws and these are major. Love the game sometimes.....Hey so I’ve been playing aov for a long time and I don’t intend to quit, but Jesus Christ, your community is horrible. Every other game in STANDARD me and my friends (diamonds and vets, sometimes play all around 50% WR) go against a 5-man team of smurfs (higher ranked players, top 100 in the game or masters who make an alt to get a higher WR and bully lower ranked players with 90% WR). it makes me hate the game and get so frustrated, and guess what? you can’t even report them because nothing happens! the report system is more of a cosmetic and a “yeah we totally listen to you and all of your problems” by the devs. the only time reporting does anything is when someone is AFK for an entire match. not half, not a quarter, not in a team fight, but for the entire match and that is only when they will be penalized. called you trash and basically threw? put on a “watch list”. fed the entire game? watch list. like I said, I love the game and I have made some awesome friends on it, but please for the love of GOD get rid of these smurfs, they make people uninstall the game because of how toxic they are. and maybe fix matchmaking and the report system too while you’re at it? or else I might actually switch to something that actually cares about its community..LivirnVersion: 1.32.1.2

Okay, I guess.The gameplay loop is alright, save for the strict meta for new characters that essentially dominate games and which are only available through Xeniel’s Codex (battlepass) and only become available to non battle pass users a couple months later. Almost any cosmetic worth having is only acquirable through gambling, there is: Liliana’s “Lucky” Draw, Liliana’s “Magical” Draw, normal “lucky” draw, limited time offers, “Great Deals” and even more bull they use to hide cosmetics behind. I absolutely understand requiring some kind of income to continue working on a game, and I’m behind that. What I can’t abide by though is trying to leech even more money out of people by forcing them to gamble to get something they want. If they would just make it to where everything cosmetic could just be purchased with vouchers directly, I would have a lot less harsh of an opinion of them. Back to the battle pass, it essentially makes the game at least partially pay to win when you don’t get access to the strongest character in the game for a couple months because you didn’t buy the pass. Good Game but Serious Reporting IssuesIve been playing for 2.5yrs or so. A few months ago I would’ve given this game five stars. The game play is great with lovely graphics, the majority of the community is not as bad as other games, and they have new heroes and skins constantly in the works. But the recent report system is the worst. The game now mutes and punishes people based off of the computer thinks they said something wrong, instead of have the community or team decide. The computer reports a bunch of random words and phrases and you don’t know what they are until you are muted. So far words like “sacrifice” or “this is” will get you muted for 15minutes. And using the words “weird” or “bread” in general will get you banned for 24 hours the first time and 3 days the second time. So for three days you can’t talk to the community, your guild, or your team in any way in game and in the lobby. U can only dm your friends if you are at the starting lobby/menu. There is no way to “appeal” this process either. There is a tab in the customer service link which basically says “you did something to be muted. Sorry.” I’m not sure why they changed it or how they determine which words are unacceptable but it ruins the game for everyone..Mil00uVersion: 1.35.1.12

Arena of TrollsWhen I first started this game it was nice. Great graphics for mobile, playability was great. You can advance without being in a guild. But Ten Cent games doesn’t listen to it’s players. They are only concerned about making their yen. They allow people to troll in ranked matches without consequence, they allow racism in the game without consequence, they never ban anyone who could be a potential paying customer. You play ranked matches to gain rank and play with more elite players, yeah no. Why? Because they allow players to use characters that they haven’t mastered (maybe ten cent devs you should only allow players who have legendary or master characters to join ranked matches as this would cut down on the trolling) Their match making is a complete and utter joke. There is no rhyme or reason to it as I have been paired with 3-4 new players and the opposing team has all legendary characters. The racism is just insane, been called the N word (do they ban players for this? Nope as I have pics of players using racial slurs then weeks later I am fighting against them again and they are still using derogatory, racist words in game) so many times it’s not even worth reporting any more as nothing is EVER done to potential paying customers. I would love to see Apple remove this game from their store would actually make my day. While the game is fun to play and use strategy and skill, there are a lot of players on there just to screw up peoples ranks and ruin peoples fun. Needs some changesTo start off, the game is good. Different champs, play styles, and abilities. But, some champs are too overpowered. Valhein, for example, his basic attack range is way too big. Not only that, but he has a stun. So, when you face off a good Valhein, he can just easily win in lane. Of course, there are multiple other champs that are way too over powered. But it would take too long to talk about all of them. Then, there’s the ranked system. It’s easy to rise up in ranks if you’re experienced, but when you reach your limit, it’s more about your how good your team is, rather than personal skill. Even if some of your teammates AFK, you still will be punished for losing. Which shouldn’t be a problem, but when your team is losing, and people leave the game, it’s up to you to carry the game. Though, if you have friends, you can play ranked with them, a little mechanic I like about the game. Of course, there’s competitive play and everyone plays well. But, competitive play is ten really good players facing off each other. Meanwhile, real gameplay consist of people who understand the game, and others who doesn’t know what to do. Delete itI just deleted this game 5 mins ago. Here is what happened: when you are matched with a group of 3 and they decide they don’t like you and start to take all your jungles in the first 5 mins, you are pretty much doomed. I was verbally abused for the whole game and was reported (-4) in the end because I don’t have enough damage. But I can’t even report the mage for verbal abuse or taking both of my buffs (And I wish the scoring punishment designer could tell me: if all your recourses are taken, how could you have high damage ?). The worst thing about this game is the game designers pay a lot of attention on producing skins to gain more money but little attention on improving a health game environment.
