Sagrada App Comments & Reviews
Sagrada Positive Reviews
A Great Digital Adaptation of a Modern ClassicI have throughly enjoyed the multitude of options that Sagrada offers. Pass and Play, Cross-Platform Multiplayer, Solo, and Campaign modes are all here! The music is beautiful and light, appropriate given the theme. Also the controls are spot-on, very intuitive! Likewise the graphics, from the stained glass dice to even a color blind mode, really show care in their form and function. I really liked Dire Wolf’s previous adaptation of Raiders of the North Sea, the bar was set high and they delivered. Honestly I hope this app sells very well as I can’t wait to play the expansions on this app. The private dice pool drafts are sorely missed when playing against human opponents but that is a personal preference. Bottom line, the price is very reasonable for what you get and this is a great way to play while maintaining social distance. Check it out!.Version: 1.2.2
A great adaptation of the board game, with one annoying thingGame works pretty flawlessly for the most part. Great visuals and overall the game is simple and addictive. Aside from random disconnects to the server(which are annoying due to it force “resigning” you) I haven’t run into anything major. My biggest beef(and also an issue I have with the physical version) is how punishing the Solo game can be. I am unsure if this was fixed in future expansions, but the target scores you need to get to win are near impossible to achieve. Needing to not only sacrifice a die to use a tool, but said tool is only usable once per game is a bit too punishing. Not to mention only benefit from one of your private objectives really limits the player. I understand these are the rules as written, but if expansions managed to fix this, I’d love for them to be added in future updates. Overall the game is great, but I tend to favor solo play when I can in most board game apps. Bummer it isn’t less punishing..Version: 1.4.0
Almost perfect. This digital adaption of the game is spot on. Definitely worth the cost considering normal board game version retails for $40. The AI has a little bit to be desired in terms of difficulty. I watched them use one of the in-game tools on the 2nd turn when it was unnecessary to do so. I don’t have to pay attention to their boards and can win nearly 100% of the time - by a pretty wide margin. However the real draw of this game is to play with friends and family online. Given the current events this is a welcome escape. It would be great to add simple emotes/premade comments to encourage/taunt opponents. This is one of my favorite strategy games. Enough strategy and an appropriate amount of disruption to keep if fun without being frustrating..Version: 1.3.0
Enjoyable with some small issuesI have been enjoying playing this game very much! My friend lives about 5 hours away and yet we both play it as the day winds down nearly every evening. The few bugs I’ve noticed have been lag related (I think) 1- when the game tells me I have a game waiting and ‘would I like to go to that game now?’ I click yes and nothing happens. I can click yes 15 times and still nada. I have to click no, exit back to the main menu, go to my games and then open it from there. 2- sometimes the bouncy die goes on for much longer than I believe it’s supposed to. It’s fun to watch in the beginning as you’re waiting for your game to load but it grows tiresome quickly. I’ve had to close out the game and open it again to get the board to load faster. Also my friend and I have found some of the game objectives tedious. When I play versus the A.I. or play the campaign there is a good variety in the objectives. But when I play my friend sometimes we will get all numbers and sometimes all colors. We rarely get the chance to enjoy the diversity from Sagrada multiple objective pool. All that being said the game is lovely to play. The colors and windows are beautiful and I enjoy playing the game in one fashion or another nearly every day. Thanks for reading..Version: 1.3.10
Great adaptation- accessibility could be improvedA faithful adaptation of the board game and a great way to learn and practice your strategy against the AI. My only criticism is that the color-blind mode isn’t that helpful. It applies patterns to the dice, which is nice, but not to the colored spaces on the game board. The placement aides work when those colored spaces are available, but it’s hard to plan ahead when they aren’t and you can’t tell the differences between some of them and your dice. An option to apply patterns to the game board spaces would be helpful, or to change out the color options as other games have done would also be an improvement. Oddly enough, this is only an issue with this digital version. I don’t have any color issues with the physical board game. All in all, a fun game though!.Version: 1.3.11
So Many BugsI would easily rate this game five stars because I think it is super fun, but I find myself getting frustrated by the bugs. I often get unstable internet connection warnings in daily challenge mode, and the game will not load, but I will still lose one of my five daily plays each time. If I’m on the same “unstable connection” but open any other mode, the game will run fine. I am also unsure if this is a bug or my misunderstanding of the rules, but in solo mode, I have four objectives listed above that don’t all count towards my total score. I watch the totals as they happen and tend to see only 2-3 objectives receiving points. I’ve never even been able to win on very easy mode even once despite setting up a board that adheres to all objectives and includes numerous of both target colors..Version: 1.4.4
Amazing adaptationThis is exactly what I want when it comes to making board games into apps. The UI is super intuitive and visuals are excellent. My one bit of feedback is I would like to see the end scoring separated out to better see where my opponents and I scored for our private and each public objective. The scoring happens so quick at the end that you barely have a chance to see what you ended up with for the objectives. A stats button below view windows that takes you to each players’ scoring stats would be awesome. Thank you for making an awesome board game into an amazing phone game!.Version: 1.4.0
Something is buggedI love this game, I have gifted a few times and gotten it for myself, so I was excited to find it has a app version Lately I’ve played and wondered how my friends have been playing with me so quickly, their moves are instant after mine. It wasn’t until yesterday when I was sitting next to my friend that we realized he wasn’t even playing and his side was responding and playing immediately after I chose my dice. When we compared our boards we would be in the same game, same boards we selected but none of the pieces we had chosen for our own were the same, and one of us would have a game where both of us would be many moves ahead of what he had on his phone, so we clearly aren’t actually playing with eachother like we should be 🫣.Version: 1.4.4
Solo vs. AI is great, other solo mode (against a target score) is stupidly frustratingFirst, this is a very good game, for a good price, with a good privacy policy, and it is very enjoyable to play. It’s somehow relaxing and challenging at the same time. The solo play against AI is my favorite. It’s challenging but doable. No complaints there. And I like that you can save your progress and go back later. I haven’t tried the multiplayer or pass and play options, as I only wanted this for solo play. However, the other solo mode, where you play against a target score, is impossible, even on “very easy.” Whoever created the scoring for that mode needs to rethink it (or be fired). It’s sadistic, punishing, absolutely unfair and unfun. Others have said this too. I’m a good player, it isn’t me. That mode is bad by design. But if you want to play against AI, I highly recommend this game. It’s one of my favorites in fact. It would be 5 stars if the other solo mode were tweaked. So for now I recommend the game with this caveat. Stay away from solo mode unless you want to rage delete the app..Version: 1.4.7
Just buy the physical game.Bare bones version of the base game, there have been 3 expansions for the physical game not counting the new Artisans Legacy game. I’ve had this app for several years and still can’t get through a single 5 play daily challenge without crashing and losing my progress. Dire Wolf Digital must be in Dire Straights in terms of development staff and/or know how. Why would I want to buy Root or Dune imperium digitally? I have zero confidence I their ability to maintain let alone improve this app! Uninstalled! It REALLY pains me to say this..Version: 1.4.4
Beautiful, but concern about crashing!First, this is a beautiful, aesthetic, satisfying and enjoyable game. However I have been facing a frustrating issue. Part of my daily ritual, while eating breakfast, is playing Sagrada. More often than not, I will lose at least 1, sometimes up to 4,of the 5 allowed attempts due to the message "Lost Connection To Server". In the evening I like to play with my spouse, and our games crash then too. We are so disappointed with how often the server crashes. Is this an issue that the team is working on? The issue really detracts from how calming and beautiful this game can be, without interruptions. I hope to keep enjoyjng it with less issues. Thank you!!.Version: 1.4.4
Fun game, app has some issuesThe game itself is very fun, and I enjoy playing it a lot. I love that I can play the daily challenges by myself, and a regular game with my friends. I have noticed a couple issues/annoyances so far, that make it slightly frustrating to play - Inability to see history of scores/boards. It’s very frustrating to have a game end with friends, and not be able to go back and see the score after it’s complete. Even upon clicking notification that the game is complete, it does not bring me to the closing/scoring sequence. The game will freeze sometimes for 15-20 seconds, usually in daily challenge mode. If you leave a daily challenge (even just close the app) it will disconnect and you lose your progress. Not a huge deal, but this counts towards your 5 games for the leaderboard. General lagging when connecting to an ongoing game with friends, there seems to be a disconnect with clicking a notification and the app opening the game itself..Version: 1.4.4
Pretty awesomeSo I had never heard of this game before (and I don’t recall how I found it on the App Store) but it’s a wonderful game. As a new player, some of the finer aspects of the game eluded me at first. For instance, for the life of me I couldn’t understand how to satisfy the shade and color variety goal cards. I figured it out with a google search—so no harm no foul—but the tutorial probably could have done a better job. This review is mainly addressing the new Solo mode of play—I take issue with being scored against the value of dice left in the round track. It makes the game arbitrarily difficult and makes low and medium goal cards particularly annoying. Is there a good reason for choosing the round track total as the score you want to beat? (That's not a rhetorical question, I'm actually asking.) I also wish that in solo mode you could pick specific tool cards so that you could practice your skills individually. Other than all that, this a great game and well worth the cost..Version: 1.3.1
Great, but glitchyI love this game, I love the IRL board game but the set up takes forever and with the app playing against computers is a great way to get so good at this game that my friends refuse to play with me anymore lol. I’m annoyed I have to be online all the time to play, but that’s my own weird thing. The ONLY problem is that recently whenever I finish a campaign game and hit “Continue” the app freezes showing me my completed window and I have to close it to restart. I don’t lose my stars from finishing the window so it’s not super broken. But it’s annoying, and if that were fixed this would get 5/5 no problem. If you like puzzles at all I strongly recommend buying it..Version: 1.3.10
What a beautiful and intuitive version! So polished, nearly bug-free. Takes a little getting used to in regards to utilizing the tools shared by all players but I can’t think of a better way to implement that piece of the game from a UI/UX standpoint... it’s a tough and varied series of game mechanics and they did an admirable job implementing it. There are some amazing iOS board game ports and I’ve probably downloaded 30-40 of them. This is is pretty comfortably in my Top 5 in terms of how well they implemented the base game and just how faithfully reproduced and highly polished it is. NICE WORK, TEAM!.Version: 1.2.3
Beautiful gameI was introduced to this application during a team game night, and I’ve been addicted since. This game challenges me, frustrates me, and soothes me. The most fun puzzle game I’ve played in a minute. I love opening the app and hearing the music as I start my game. The ambient sounds softly chiming as you navigate through colors and values brings joy to my day. I look forward to the daily challenge and sharpening my skills on Solo Play. By the next team game night, I will be ready. And I will win..Version: 1.4.0
Love the game- but app is incredibly glitchyBought this app after being introduced to the board game over the holidays. A really pricey app, but enjoyed the game that much and could play with siblings long distance. App is great… when it works. Consistent glitches where game will freeze and you have to restart the app, and games never save as they are supposed to and so if you get a call or respond to a text mid-game you usually lose progress and the app crashes. Disappointed since it was so expensive. Hoping developers will be able to make improvements to make game play smoother..Version: 1.4.0
Incredible!I was excited to learn an app version of Sagrada would be offered to the US a month or so ago. The app is every bit of what I expected and more! It took an incredible, and beautiful board game and kept all the components just as beautiful. The game plays very smoothly with no issues. There is a campaign, vs AI, and online multiplayer mode! The iOS version offers Game Center achievements as well. What more could you ask for? An amazing game now just at our fingertips. 5 stars! Bravo!.Version: 1.2.2
Great with only a few snagsLove the game and it does a great job of bringing the gameplay of the original to digital. Anyone who likes Sagrada will love this version. My only complaint is maybe one bug and a usability issue. The bug is inviting a friend. You can’t. If you enter their email address to ask them to play the instructions say it will send an invite with a link to the game to download it. When you do so it says the person isn’t registered. Isn’t the point to invite unregistered people? If they are registered they’d probably have the game already. This was disappointing. Also the turns can be a little fiddly because when you use one of the cards that allows you to change your dice or placement it can be unclear what to do next. Same when ending turn. It isn’t bad just could be better Buy it you won’t regret it..Version: 1.4.4
Good game, decent implementationThe game is fun, if you like that sort of thing. The implementation is beautiful in design and dodgy in technical quality. Online mode technically works but can be buggy, causing disconnects, and the lobby system is barebones and relies on a secondary app to handle any lobby chatting you may want to do. Daily challenge is a nice feature but bugs have often spent my limited attempts on app crashes or disconnects. All this said, when it works, which is most of the time, it’s a nice addition to any app library..Version: 1.4.0
Dire Wolf Digital Does it Again!I have loved Dire Wolf Digital games since Lotus. Last two releases Yellow & Yangtze and Raiders of the North Sea were Amazing. But I wasn’t sure I’d like this one ~ digital dice games have been iffy to date. But I’m so glad I tried it - it is So Much Fun! Very relaxing too. Simpler than those last 2 games but really enjoyable. Only wish would be to spice up the graphics even more to Y&Y and Raiders level, super shiny and awe inspiring, this being Cathedral stained glass windows after all! Keep the hits coming Dire Wolf!.Version: 1.3.0
Fantastic game for both solo and multi-playerBeen wanting to try this game on Tabletop but with shelter in place, great opportunity to try the app instead. Great tutorial mode and the AI is a fantastic solo experience. Playing with remote player works well, but the two turns within a round lends itself more to synchronous play than over long stretches. Games are quick so a great way to spend 15 minutes if you have sudden free time..Version: 1.3.1
Solo Mode Target Score is ImpossibleI love the game and it all flows beautifully. But the “Target Score” that is needed to win on the Solo mode is impossible to get. And I don’t mean it’s just hard, but often literally impossible. Even when I have a really good game and achieve a lot of the bonuses, I’m lucky to make it half way to the suggested Target score. It’s pretty discouraging. Again, I enjoy the game and the app works great, but a easy fix to make the solo mode Target scores lower would be appreciated..Version: 1.4.4
Passes the timeIn short moments, Sagrada is my go-to game. It’s just as good getting my brain juices flowing over my morning coffee as it is at telling me at night before bed. I prefer the first version over the update (the first version was smoother with better flow). The latest version seems more beginner friendly but has stops that seasoned players may be slightly annoyed by..Version: 2.0.8
Beautiful game, one small bugLove this game sooo much! It’s stunning, very calming, very fun strategy game. The only thing I noticed, at the end of the game during scoring, it only ever adds the first three objectives, and never adds the fourth, always saying I’m losing - but I’m not (some of the time) perhaps there’s a rule I missed, but I saw someone else mention this in their review. Would love for that to get fixed!.Version: 1.4.4
Disconnecting oftenThis is a GREAT game when it works. Very challenging and fun to compete with friends. The challenge lately is the game is disconnecting from the server on a regular (almost daily) basis. Frustrating and wouldn’t be a big deal if you weren’t limited to five plays per day that contributed to the daily leaderboard. This issue didn’t used to happen so something has changed contributing to the current issue..Version: 1.4.4
Sagrada 1.4.3 update games stuckI have two games that are stuck in limbo since update. Each game with different user in their turn doesn’t allow you to select a die or a “tool” to use. Any way to revert back? I did try to resign a game and it wouldn’t even allow that. Is my only recourse to delete app and reinstall?.Version: 1.4.3
Needs Landscape modeI’ll bump this to 5-star when landscape mode is available. Publisher hasn’t responded to feedback to add this view to iOS like they have in Nintendo Switch. This request is more so for iPad’s and iPad Pros. The default portrait mode is fine on iPhone. Everything else is beautiful and this is a great adaption. (edit: Developer just responded so I’ll bump this to 4 star. 5 when/if landscape comes to the app. But I think 5 star is appropriate for the iPhone version.).Version: 1.3.11
Great features but hard to find themThe good parts about the app are things like the modules to allow enhanced gameplay of clank and Dune imperium. The problem is that they’re hidden in obscure places and you have to go through several steps to get to them - and if you open another app in the meantime you are often back to square one. The rest of the app is ads or other junk, which really could have been deleted or sidelined..Version: 1.4.4
Great but crashesI love this game and the adaption is stellar. That said, it crashes all the time in daily challenge mode and it is extremely frustrating. I stopped playing for a long time and I came back to the game after many months and this is still a common issue..Version: 1.4.4
Has a few bugsI own the tabletop version of this game. I love this digital version for the most part but consistently run into a bug where I can’t draft any dice nor select a tool. I can scroll back and forth in the pool and I can hit the next turn button if I intended to skip. But the middle section is dead. And it’s caused me to lose some decent runs in the daily challenge as the only way to fix is to close and restart..Version: 1.4.0
Generally great adaptation with an occasional glitchOccasionally, one of the tools will not work appropriately which is frustrating but generally a well done and beautiful adaptation of a great strategy game. My monthly game night has been relegated to online during the current times so I’m glad we have a new game that all four of us like online!.Version: 1.3.6
Daily Challenge IssuesLoving playing this with my wife online. However, I have frustrations with the daily challenge. You only get 5 chances for the leaderboard and you cannot leave a game to do something else and come back in - it will use an attempt and restart your game. I just had the game reset in the middle of one when I went to pick my dice. Making the daily challenge not very fun..Version: 1.4.4
Really Good Port!I think it’s a really good version of the game. If you like the board game, I think you will like this as well. Handy to have when you want to play but are not in a position where you can play the actual board game. Customer support also responded very quickly and was very helpful when I reported an issue. 🙂.Version: 1.3.0
Great representation of the game, then it crashesI absolutely love this game. It’s challenging and clever with juuuuust enough skill to offset the RNG-caused screw-jobs. However the app makers really need to square away the stability. Too many times I’ve been more than halfway through a game only for the app to crash and I lose all my progress, which is mighty frustrating when a game requires you to think multiple steps ahead..Version: 1.4.0
Fun but limited gameplayI really love this game!! It’s my absolute favorite board game and now I’m addicted to this version. However it only gets 4 stars because of the insanely small number of tool cards and public objectives. The board game has so many really fun and challenging ones, this app is wildly repetitive in comparison. If they add more it’ll be a 5 star game hand down!.Version: 1.3.11
Lovely game!Great implementation, very playable. Note: Initially it seemed to have a bug where I could not actually select any dice - instead the “magnifying glass” loupe mode is permanently stuck as on. This bug comes up every so often still but I just kill and restart the game and then it goes away..Version: 1.4.0
Miss the Expansions :(Love the game, I just wish the expansions were here. I actually played this before getting the physical version, and having the expansions adds so much to the game. It’s nice having a digital version, but I miss all of that content! Overall, it’s a great game nonetheless..Version: 1.4.4
Really beautiful game!I’ve seen the physical version of this game many times but had no idea how it was. I really enjoy this digital representation. One side note: This last update seems to have an issue where if your password isn’t correct it won’t give you an “incorrect password” error. It will simply mention the client might be out of date..Version: 1.3.1
Game good, offline missingPlease make it possible to play the well done game offline. Should not need a connection to play a solo. Update: solo problem fixed in less than week. Excellent implementation. Great customer service. It is a goto game when passing my time..Version: 1.4.4
New FavoriteI have been enjoying this game a lot. I just downloaded the update with Solo Play. The game has been freezing when trying to use a tool. Otherwise, I like the graphics, the length of the game, the ability to play alone or with others. Good balance of strategy and luck. The AI isn’t too predictable as with some other games..Version: 1.3.1
Surprised by the PositivityThe game is amazing. But the app takes forever to load, is constantly booting me from games, repeatedly showing me long replays that I’ve already seen, and keeps logging me out of my account (without being able to save my password). I strongly recommend the board game. This app is a decent recreation of it but requires a bit of patience..Version: 1.3.11
FrustratingI have the board game and was very excited to get the app to play while traveling. My complaint is that it loses its WiFi connection very frequently. This has happened in many locations so I know it’s not just my home. This has never happened with any other app. So aggravating. Overall it’s a fun and challenging game..Version: 1.4.4
Add Solo wins/losses pleaseIts the digital age. A game like this should track stats. AT LEAST track solo win/loss records. I track my wins/losses when playing the physical game. I shouldnt have to do this when playing a digital game. What a disappointment. I’d rather play the physical game. Add some solo stats, wins/loss records and I’d recommend this. Until then, no incentive to play this. And a comment; it shouldnt be necessary to have to create some “account” to see your score. ADD A LOCAL HIGHSCORE TABLE!!!.Version: 1.3.1
Great Port of a great board gameI have lots of board games. And lots of the apps for those games. This is the best digital copy of a game I own. Great job to the devs..Version: 1.0.2
Glitchy but worth it!A decent implementation of my favourite board game. The graphic design is good with everything you need visible on one screen and an intuitive interface. Playing solo or against an AI is best. Pass and play is an option but there is no way to hide your personal goal so you have to keep the screen private on your turn and be careful about when you pass, which is fine but unnecessary. Online play is also an option but there are still many bugs. About 3/4 of the live games I’ve started don’t finish and just disappear without telling you why. And casual turn based online play is fairly slow cause the app fully reloads almost every time you reopen it. Still a great app and a great game, and I hope work is still being done on these aspects I emailed DireWolf directly with these issues and only received a “we passed your report on” in response. No further update after 6 weeks..Version: 1.3.0
Amazing graphics, a pleasure to playI was given the board game for my birthday, but in French, so I found it difficult to understand. This digital version is beautifully created, and the game plays well. Good tutorial, it has helped me understand better, especially the various tool cards..Version: 1.0.2
Completely blown away! This is the new benchmark for what a board game app can be. Terrific implementation and this game is simply perfect for the phone..Version: 1.0.0
Great Sagrada AppVery well made. Exactly like the original game. You can play solo, AI, online. Graphics and music are cool. If you like Sagrada get this..Version: 1.4.4
Pretty good!I enjoy this game although wish the colour focus didn’t default to 3 points..Version: 2.0.8
Would be great if it wasn’t so terribly buggyThis game requires being online and connected to Dire Wolf’s servers the entire time you’re playing the game. Because of this, any brief connection issues will result in the game ending and/or you losing your chances to qualify for the leaderboard. In order to even hope to stay connected, I need to have both cellular and wifi enabled and available while I’m playing this game. As of today (April 14, 2026), the game seems to allow play, but cannot connect to the leaderboard, so I don’t know what’s going on, but I really think they should redesign this app so that a constant uninterrupted connection is not required in order to play or to qualify for the leaderboard..Version: 1.4.7
I am loving it!I started playing this board game with my family. Love it’s versatility. This online version is great for me to play while taking a break! It is very much like the board game. Graphics are great. And it helps me work on all the variables..Version: 1.4.4
Better than board game versionI actually prefer this to the physical game. Get it! So chill..Version: 1.4.4
Cannot access daily challenge most of the daysThis game is great and i love the app. However I cannot access the daily challenge in most of the days. Keep saying I have connection error but all my other apps or games have no problem. Please fix this bug and this app would be perfect..Version: 1.4.4
SlickSlick app, has a lot of ways to play. Game can be kinda slow against 3 AI but otherwise pretty good. Haven’t tried multiplayer. Don’t know how much legs the game design has but if you preset like the boardgame you can’t go wrong..Version: 1.4.4
Excellent app of a great board gameSagrada looks great. Nice animation and graphic design. Easy to play and follow the rules. Good selection of solo and multiplayer modes. My only criticism is scoring in the solo mode. Trying to beat the Target Scores is impossible. Several times while playing the Target Scores did not seem beatable following the game scoring rules. Target Scores should be more realistic..Version: 1.4.4
Love this gameThis is an amazing app for a fantastic game. Love it so much. Wish the app translated your finished frames into stained glass windows of different shades based on the dice value. That would be so cool!.Version: 1.4.0
GreatI have enjoyed getting this app to help me understand how to better play and score the physical board game..Version: 1.3.6
Excellent portGreat app version of a great game..Version: 1.3.6
