ReadI love this app so much but not how you have to pay for some of it but otherwise it’s a really good app. I highly recommend. It’s helped me so much play my flute and I love it so much. The only thing I don’t like about it as I was saying earlier is how you have to pay a little bit. You don’t have to pay if you don’t want to. It makes your experience better if you do pay, though it’s just more money to spend and I think it’s not too perfect. How to use the free limited version:So you CAN use the limited version. There is a blurb that says “try the limited version” right above the subscription button at the end of the slideshow it gives you when you first open the app. The blurb is in really tiny gray font which makes it very hard to see. All the flashiness of the other buttons doesn’t help either. A suggestion I have is to make the blurb a different color (like bright blue) and to make it bigger too. Good if purchasedI can tell it’s a decent app, but only if you purchase it. The free version is annoying with ads at the bottom of the screen and if you select a premium option like “tap” it takes you to the page that prompts you to buy the premium version. That’s annoying. ShamelessThe onboarding flow is designed to trick you into signing up for a weekly subscription fee. The button to complete the onboarding flow says “BEGIN FREE TRIAL” and tapping it brings up a dialogue asking for Touch ID confirmation of a free trial that automatically transitions into a $7.99/week subscription, in the hopes that you won’t notice, won’t understand or that simple muscle memory and impatience will cause you to blow through. If this strategy doesn’t work, and you cancel out of Touch ID confirmation, you cannot leave the onboarding flow unless you notice an illegibly small button in a shade of grey that nearly blends into the background. They want to frustrate you enough to just start the trial and tell yourself you’ll cancel before a week is up, then hope you forget. Other reviews mention not being able to cancel, I imagine they make that process as onerous and obtuse as possible. If you do manage to find the tiny, low-contrast button that releases you from the nightmarish wasteland that is their onboarding flow, the free version of the app wastes no time shamelessly and desperately shoving the premium features and monthly subscription in your face. It is cloying and tasteless, and I imagine they’ve thought a lot about how to make it easy to sign up accidentally, or frustrate you into paying. Also, let’s not forget what they are asking for: $7.99/week FOR A METRONOME. How is a metronome a subscription service? People if you wait two weeks you can go buy a real-life metronome! I have nothing against a developer or company trying to monetize their product, but this app, this developer goes way too far. If I can use the GarageBand metronome to tap a tempo for free, this app has already failed. Meh...Made it through all 36 of the “Tap The Beat” loops pretty quick. The preview excited me to have fun with more than just 4/4 beats. There were a few “off beat” styles but not what I expected. Some of the beats were definitely 1/2 or 2x what they should have been. Although that was more fun trying to get to the right tempo after figuring that out. App drains your battery!Nice app, limited functionality (but that’s really all I need). But... if you don’t manually force quit the app it WILL drain your battery. Too difficult to fight past the ads!It would be nice to be able to use this app but you are barraged with a ton of ads that you have to fight your way through before you can use it. Constant background use, battery killerEver since I downloaded this app, I noticed my battery was getting absolutely killed! When I checked battery usage, I saw this app was CONSTANTLY working in the background - i.e., for the hour between 2:00 and 3:00, it was working for ONE HOUR. In other words, it didn’t stop working in the background. What is it doing?? Even more suspect was the fact that I couldn’t find this app listed under “Background App Refresh” settings.
