Unable to remove songs from playlistSo I have made a playlist and I have been trying to remove songs from it so I can replace them with better songs as I am at the max of 500 songs for a playlists. I can’t remove them for some reason. Not sure why, I know I am doing right because if research. I click edit playlist and scroll down to the song I want to remove. I click the red minus sign on the left and than a remove button that is also red pops up on the right. I am unable to click it after weeks of trying it out... And as well as using the search bar and typing the same song name and artist just in different ways just to find the song im looking, which is very confusing and difficult sometimes depending on the song, other than that the app is great. Have had sound cloud go+ for a long time now. UPDATE—————— After leaving that first review 1 hour ago, I go back to my playlist and have gone from 500 to 375 songs on the playlist. Not sure what songs I lost, might have been the same songs I duplicated on the playlist at least 2-3 time. I spent 3 days just to go through my liked songs and then to make that playlist but am extremely impressed by the fast response from SoundCloud, which gave me more room than I had and it doesn’t seem like I lost songs I was looking forward to listening too, at least yet. Extremely satisfied with the very quick fix from SoundCloud. Will update again if I notice songs that I wanted on the playlist were removed due to my previous comment but I truly believe that they removed song I had duplicated or songs that were useless on my playlist. Unfortunately, just not worth it anymore.A couple years ago I would’ve given 10/5 stars if I could. But nowadays, there’s so many advertisements that it makes listening not even worth it. I completely understand the reason for advertisements & for a long time, I could put up with them. However, I just used SoundCloud for the first time in maybe a year. THERE IS 2 ADS BETWEEN EACH TRACK. Back when I used to use SoundCloud for all my music, I’d have to put up with an occasional ad or two every 4-6 songs. But now it’s simply unbearable. I’m not exaggerating when I say I just logged onto SoundCloud & the first 4 tracks I played, I got 2 ads in between each. It was frustrating after the 2. Annoying after the 3rd. Infuriating after the 4th & I didn’t stick around for the 5th. I’ve been using audiomack as of late. I’d recommend that to anyone who doesn’t have music specifically on SoundCloud. I know that’s the reason I used SoundCloud so much. A lot of the underground artists would start on SoundCloud and their music would then find its way to other platforms. But I just can’t do the ads anymore. If you suggest paying for SoundCloud, why would I? The search engine all the way to the user experience is just terrible. Anyway, just my opinion. Ok but …But …ok there is no but. Here’s the skinny that might run a wee bit long cause I’m an artist and we love our words, or ourselves saying them: like, I’ve known SoundCloud for years, we go way back, the SC and me. SC was like where I’d DL all my pals indie dj sets. And yeah, it was like blogger or blogspot or whatever that yesteryear blog website was called back in the day - simple, and helpful for somewhat specific limited purposes. Otherwise, I’m all in on the apple iTunes. It’s been my hub. But - so there is a but - recently I says to myself, self, let’s make some music OURSELVES. And let’s share that with the world because that’s how we roll, we generous with our creations. So I blah blah blah set up SoundCloud and post these “pieces” and think very little of it. Some time passes, I post more here and there. Do I listen to all my music on SoundCloud, no, no I return dutifully to apple for that. And then one day- someone somewhere in SoundCloud headquarters changes an algorithm, and suddenly - suddenly I am not famous ok I’m not famous but suddenly my humble musical forays are racking up listens in the not singles but in the tens! My mind is blown by the sudden exposure. “Have I found my people? Have they found me?” Such thoughts face through me. Have I found the answers, no. But I have found my new favorite place to tune into the possibility that answers exist and share in the journey with other makers - I have arrived on my SoundCloud, and it is heavenly. Favorite streaming but bugs need fixedAbsolutely love SC. BUT… the last two to three updates and every once in a while updates tend to fix one issue and cause another in a different part of the app. Currently dealing with all of my Following artists showing up as not followed even though clearly I’m still following them in my followings list and suggested songs will show said following lists. I would really really love if the play next feature could be tweaked as well. It’s the worst setting ten songs up for Next Up then accidentally clicking on a song. It then creates a new station off that accidentally clicked song. And clears the Up Next playlist. Losing several min. Of searching purposefully for next up songs to be played. Fix the Next Up feature in a way that if I accidentally click on a song, those next up songs stay in place. If yall can fix this. I’ll gladly deal with any sort of bugs until yall fix those. Will still use SC as I’m loyal. But please please fix that next up playlist. Also please return/ fix the delete song from playlist feature. One way around the play next feature that I complained about above was adding songs to a playlist and being able to simply remove them. The Glitches The Glitches!!!I Love SoundCloud, But I have something to complain about. The Glitches. They are so Annoying! And scrolling threw my likes to, And sending & reposting stuff. Whenever I scroll threw my likes, everything goes really slow & my phone freezes, Then I have to wait 5 minutes for my phone to unfreeze so I can go threw my likes to find a song I like. And reposting stuff also including adding stuff to playlists & sending stuff to people, Whenever I wanna repost a song or Send a song to someone or add a song to a playlist in my likes, Everytime I click on the menu button to repost it. Sometimes it doesn’t pop up. So I have to exit SoundCloud and find the song again. And when I’m scrolling down accounts. Like my account, My Account is •Your D@IL¥ D0$€ OF AN!M€• And Everytime I scroll down any account, Mostly everyone’s EXECPT mine, Cause when I scroll down. Everything glitches. And sometimes when I wanna play a song and I click on it. My screen freezes for a second then glitches back to the home screen. And The adds Oh my god. STOP IT WITH THE VAPING ADDS! I KNOW THAT IM A TEEN AND IM NEVER GOING TO VAPE BUT EVERYTIME THE VAPING ADDS COME UP IT MAKES ME WANNA VAPE!! And when I’m listening to music and I’m in another app. Sometimes the song stops and I get confused so I check what Happened. And Uhm apparently it sometimes has to load back into SoundCloud— I’d really like the glitches to go away— And for the vaping adds to show up less, I would like movie adds and Object adds and Other adds. GreatI been on SoundCloud for at least 5 and a half years and it’s awesome. There was at times bugs where I request songs to be in a playlist but rarely it crashes while doing so. Another thing is that there is a gimmick where there is songs that have like a “star” symbol or a premium song where you have to pay to listen for monthly cost. But not only you can listen to these premium songs, you can put download playlist for out of service ordeals. I would say the major downfall for this streaming service app is that I have to type the right perfect word for a song title, artist, or even a album in the search bar. If I misspelled a word, it would give me a totally different result of music or even no result at all. Therefore, I have to make sure to make more of a tension to spell the word of the song and such throughly. But other than that, I’ve been using the app at first free but I decided to pay monthly because I’ve been traveling more often now so it makes since of downloading songs. I recommend using this app. I’ve been previously using grooveshark until they shut down in 2015 then I switched over to SoundCloud..Kyo ByboshiVersion: 5.113.0

Mixed feelingsI’ve had SoundCloud since 2021 and literally the best streaming service for music for sure. But It’s logged me out several times for no reason and I was able to get back in besides about two days ago when it logged me out and I try to put in the email and password I used for it but it didn’t let me log in. I tried everything, logging in through google, Facebook and apple. To which all have failed because “I haven’t created an account and didn’t put in the right information”. I even tried making a totally new account when it sent me a message saying I looked too much like a spam account and didn’t let me create one. It said if it was mistaken to message their support team which I was greeted by a robot. This did not help at all. I played around with it trying to see if I could get to the bottom of it. But it soon stopped replying to my messages leaving me with no help whatsoever. I still haven’t been able to get my account back. I was curious to see if it would let me log in through the website with the same email and password which to my surprise it did. I’m now to listen to my songs but I’d rather be able to actually skip and see what song is next. Playlist OrganizationSoundCloud is great but there are a lot of glitches with playlists that need to be fixed. Trying to rearrange your songs in your own playlists is a hassle, it takes multiple tries to get the song to permanently move because it often just reverts back to where it was right after you moved it. I always have to close then reopen the open to check and make sure my songs moved to where I wanted them to. Also the icons you can upload for your playlist cover never seem to update unless you actually open up and go into the playlist. This doesn’t seem to be much of an issue on the desktop but on mobile my set display cover is never what I picked, it’s usually automatically always the same picture as the first song in that playlist. This gets really irritating because if I want people to check out my playlists, the first thing they see is the display image and I would rather them see the one I chose than of the picture from someone’s track! Lastly, please incorporate the option to move around your playlists. I have playlists from months ago that are at the way end of my profile and would rather have some of those at the forefront of my profile when you visit it. AppreciateI've had SoundCloud for years now but I realized I never left a review yet. SoundCloud truly was and is a magical place for music, all the biggest modern rap/hip hop artists got their start from SoundCloud (lil pump, lil skies, lil peep, 21 savage, Suicideboy$, the list goes on!) not only is the environment of the app "creation", but it's also a well made app. I used multiple music softwares/apps so I can get every song I need but I truly wish every app would take notes from SoundCloud. (PLEASE NEVER CHANGE THIS ABOUT THE APP!!) but it allows you to put your phone on sleep mode while music still plays, you have to pay a monthly premium fee to other apps to be able to do that! I've been loyal to SoundCloud even if l use other apps (you should always seek out new music on both SoundCloud and elsewhere!) you really can't go wrong trying it, you'll end up finding tons of music that's great yet you had no idea about beforehand. Nothing but praise on my end! Stay true to yourselves SoundCloud and never change up because society tells you you should! It’s okay, but...So I don’t really write reviews, but I have an issue or two (maybe more) with the app that really bugs me. One: the pause/play button on the control center/lock screen. I tap the pause button, but the music keeps playing anyways. I have to soft reset my phone each time, and it’s exhausting. Two: sometimes my music starts to crackle. It’s rare, but it’s so annoying when it does happen. Three: when I add a song to a playlist, it adds it all the way down to the bottom instead to the top, and when you have a long playlist, hitting edit at the top, scrolling all the way to the bottom, and waiting for the song to be dragged all the way up is also exhausting. Four: sometimes the time stops, so the song will be going, but it’ll say something like 0:10 when it’s just about over. And to fix it, I have to drag the dot to a different time, hoping it’ll land on something close, but when you don’t know what second it’s on, it’ll mess up the song, and ruin the listening experience. Good app that has problemsIt’s a good app don’t get me wrong, there are just some issues that I have not only as a listener, but as an artist. First off is just that it’s too expensive to be an artist. In order to get your songs properly out there you need to pay $129, and a lot of people unfortunately can’t afford that especially as smaller artists like myself. The second issue I personally have is as a listener which isn’t a problem per se but an annoying glitch that hasn’t been patched for a few versions. Whenever I go to play a new song, SoundCloud tends to softlock by not having an ad in its ad bank, causing it to infinitely load and crash itself. It’s annoying because rebooting it as well as deleting and reinstalling doesn’t help at all. If these issues are fixed that would bring my review back up to 5 stars. Other than that it is a good application. It has good audio quality, is able to smoothly transition songs, and even gives daily and weekly recommendations that generally are accurate to my music taste, giving me new stuff to listen to. I just with the daily drops and weekly waves had maybe one or two more songs in them, but that isn’t a big deal as the playlists are generally large. That’s all from me..Anon…………….Version: 8.3.0

Very good but some issuesSo I’ve been using this app for the past 3 years and it has been amazing, but somethings I would wish could change as well as some issues I’ve ran into. The first thing is the UI, if I type in a song and I spell it wrong I wish it could put up something close to that and not say “ No Results”. Second thing is that I wish when you went into your saved playlist that you would start at the bottom or the newest song and not the top, but those I can live with so I own an IPhone X, I’m not showing off or anything but this thing has amazing speakers and for some reason when I play a song it crackles and pops which is soooo annoying, I’m an audio geek and I can not listen to a song when it cracks and pops it’s just infuriating. And the last thing is something that I’ve wanted for so long is to be able to post songs from your phone because not all of us own computers, and or laptops but the option to be able to post songs from your phone would be awesome. Very great but some difficultiesHello I’ve been a SoundCloud user since 2012 but didn’t really get into it until 2013. I would like to say SoundCloud is fantastic. However, I have problems listening to music without it cutting off every 30 seconds. Then once I press play, the same thing keeps happening. Also, as someone that makes music, I hate that there’s a pay wall behind me seeing simple things as who’s listening all over the world. Why should I by SoundCloud Go just to see things like that? The least I’m buying it for is playing music offline, that’s about it. Aside from that, I feel like SoundCloud Go is just not even worth it. I liked using SoundCloud until y’all introduced SoundCloud Go. Which basically limited us from listening to big artist on there giving us 30 seconds of a song just so we can buy that pay wall to listen to a full song we can listen to on other music apps. 🤦🏽‍♂️I have been a Soundcloud Go user for several years now. I have no problem paying for this subscription because I love this app, however there are issues which I feel if addressed, could make this app much better. For years I have dealt with tracks out of my likes being deleted or removed. I understand many of these tracks are leaked and therefore are not supposed to be on the app, however this is not the case for all songs that are removed. There is nothing worse than wanting to listen to a song and not being able to find it. Out of my 1,500 + likes I cannot remember the names of all songs I like. I believe if these tracks are deleted it would be very helpful that instead of them simply being taken down, they should still exist in your likes, even if you can’t listen to them. This way, I’m not really losing my music. I’d still be able to find the songs elsewhere, it’s just so frustrating having music disappear. Please address this issue. Also fix your search algorithms!! SadI’ve had this app for around 3 years and I had around 300 sounds that I had in my liked section because all of them wouldn’t fit in a playlist and I was okay with it. During those 3 years I loved it because I like underground rappers starting from SoundCloud and rising to the top and I would always search for new artist just so I wouldn’t have the same music as everybody else and I’d always show my friends and they’d always ask who it is and for me that’s a compliment cause putting someone on a new artist always makes me feel like that boy. But anyways a couple days ago when I was going to show my friend a couple new songs I found I went to the like section and all of my music that I had liked were gone. All those 3 years of searching for new music that little to no one has heard before done the drain and y’all don’t know how sad I felt cause now I’m never going to get to listen to those songs again because I dug really deep to find them and I’m not going to waste my time searching for it again. No shade on this app….Let me be very clear….SoundCloud is the only music platform I use and that is quite unlikely to change. I am certain that there is a solution to the problem that I am facing, and will likely update this review with the five stars that I believe SoundCloud deserves regardless of how things work out for me. I was locked out of my phone for a day as a result of pressing the guided access and then I was unable to input anything on the touch screen other than perhaps forcing an emergency call. I was able to access my SoundCloud music if it connected to my Bluetooth earbuds or my truck stereo but that was it and only using the limited control of the Bluetooth device. I took it to the store and they were able to turn it on and back on. Everything was back to normal except my SoundCloud app. I spent half a day trying to get my account back and then I tried to simply pay for what appeared to be a new subscription through the SoundCloud website and app. The App Store was happy to take my money for a new SoundCloud subscription but it still doesn’t allow me to access my real Go+ account or the new Go+ account I paid for. It’s the weekend so I can’t expect a response to my ticket until Monday at the earliest but I’m a bit upset that in spite of trying to pay for the same thing twice, I’m stuck with commercials and none of the music I saved or playlists. Had since 2013. Much love but It needs workBeen using this app since i was hella young. And what i can say is the best part about the app is the people that make music on it, and the fact that anyone can make music on it. The Ui is often glitchy and we just recently in 2024 became able to open and send dms on mobile. That is just embarrassing. We should have had that feature a decade ago, but they’ve put in the minimum work. Not much has changed since then. The “next up” feature is silly and should be replaced by a full QUEUE for multiple songs. That’s the end of my complaints as a listener. As an artist, it’s even crummier. 148$ paid in full for a year of pro unlimited. The promotion tools the app says i “don’t have access to” are limited. The monetization often doesn’t work with no explanation why. And the extra storage (the reason why i bought it) is not at all proportionate to the price. It also doesn’t even include go+. This app has a beautiful culture and community, but the team behind it has always seemed inactive and lazy, save for very recently they’re fixing the dms and such. Mobile App BugsI’ve been experiencing two separate issues. The first one happenes when I’m streaming SoundCloud via blue tooth and the mobile app gets stuck in a loop. It plays the song then an ad and then the same song again and the same ad. So far the only way I have figured out to cancel the loop is to restart the app. The second issue I’m experiencing is (and it’s fairly difficult to explain) when ever I create a station from a song I like on the mobile app, it creates a station but down at the bottom of the screen where it shows the playlist for the station, it queues up some where between two and seven copies of the same song. All the copies of the song play at one time, but audio wise, only one plays. This problem does not stop when I close and restart the app, and it seems to happen to any song, even ones that are not in my “Likes”. I really enjoy SoundCloud, and it is my first choice when deciding what platform to listen to music on and it’s always disappointing to discover a bug. SoundCloud, the morph…SoundCloud was ultra epic in the beginning, but as time went on, they began constricting your ability to post without selecting a payment plan which I guess is the typical order of business once individuals get locked into an app. I would say MixCloud is much more free of restraint. I wish Soundcloud could give the top-tier at a much cheaper price so that a artist would have the opportunity to build a fan base and then pay more as your profile gets grows. For a bedroom DJ like me hardly makes sense to pay for pro even though I would love to have pro in order to post more mixes and gain potential for a wider audience. I really feel like SoundCloud missed the boat on a lot of talent through the over monetization and implementing ads.. 🙏 please make a pro version for those don’t wanna pay top dollar for 20 followers, it seems it would make sense to grow the platform through the artist, gaining traction and paying more as you go rather than just shutting out a huge group of talent….Lots of driveVersion: 8.11.3

Loved this app for years but…So I’ve been been a long time listening since 2008 and I’ve always loved this app. I’ve always helped promote it always recommended it to people used to upload a lot of music on there and I still use it every day for music listening to music new music listen to my favorite songs, etc., I opted to get the SoundCloud go plus which is their premium account option and they never gave me premium access and every time I tried to click on buy it again. It would just say you’ve already purchased the subscription and then it loads up for a second followed by another message that says we cannot validate your subscription at this time so basically I spent $16 to not have anything premium and all the music that I want to listen to I was able to listen to this happened for about a month and then I refused to renew the subscription since they weren’t giving me the subscription I paid for anyway..Sorrowed sapienVersion: 7.55.0

Fix the appThe following is complaints about the mobile Soundcloud: Soundcloud is a good music app, not to lie. The ads are horrifyingly long, especially when you get a 30 second ad that you cannot skip. I can last a 15 second ad, but the ads are not skippable. Also another thing is if your new and you try to do the verification thing on mobile, it is possible the email won’t send at all. I’ve seen this on many other phones. Also, editing playlists most rearranging the songs don’t save until you repeatedly do it. Editing the name of the playlist I haven’t found anyway yet since. Another reason, are the visual bugs. Sometimes when loading in a song after an ad or so, the ad information shows up, but the song still plays. You can’t see the song until you close out of the ad and/or song. Also, a suggestion I’d like to make is you can verify your email whenever you want to, not while you’re editing your profile. Amazing! But just one problem..SoundCloud is an amazing app to use! I don’t really mind the Ads because I don’t really have any money to upgrade so I just stay with the regular SoundCloud instead of SoundCloud go. I’ve used this app for about 5 years now but since this year, I’ve started to notice a problem whenever I search for any music. Every time I search for music, I start to listen to it without liking it (because sometimes I forget to do that). But every time the song ends, or I try to look for a different version of the song, it always automatically skips to a different type of song that’s not under the title I searched for. This has been a constant issue for a few months so I decided to delete the app and try again, then it started to work like usual. But now, just a few seconds ago, the same problem popped up again. I don’t know if it’s a glitch in the system or just something that was included in the new update. But whatever it is, I’m not so happy with it. Great app! But I’m having trouble signing inI LOVE this app. It lets me listen to music on my phone while doing other tasks without restrictions. I will say this though, once you create an account and try to sign into your account using your email it doesn’t work and tries to make you create a new account using your email and when you try to you get an error saying that another account already exists with that email. I tap the sign in button, tap “Continue with Google”, and the app tries to make me create a new account but can’t because I already have an account I’m trying to log into with my Google email. This also happens with the website as well. I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong or if I’m just missing something here but this needs to be fixed or at least looked at because I have been using an alternative account for the past 2 years. Please help similar situation.This is great! I recently have had a similar experience with dodge county wisconsin with the social workers for cps. I feel something needs to be done with them. They would much rather take kids (2 baby sisters) and throw them into foster care rather than come home with what they know and what they love but because we are not family we have been pushed aside even though my family and I have been turned away even though we have taken care of the baby’s from age 3 weeks old now 1 1/2 yrs. I’ve now tried to bring to court and get a judge hope and pray that he will see and let the kids come with us. (Court is in 3 weeks) the cps people have even asked the foster trainer to not call me back deliberately. There very against us and unsure why but it’s not fair for the children. Love it but latest update has issuesFIX REQUIRED: Latest update has songs making cracking/popping noise when playing music. Happens whether online streaming or playing offline saved songs. Not HW issue--only seems to happen on this app. Please troubleshoot! Recommendation: A repeat button for mobile (single and playlist). Otherwise, SoundCloud is awesome. This is my #1 music discovery tool. I have discovered so many new genres and artists I had never heard before using this app, and I love that the artists are free to post ANYTHING instead of only their studio-ready work. Sometimes the experimental stuff is what is most interesting. The freedom of musical constraint is what makes SoundCloud really the best streaming service to me without the overhead of video (like another streaming service I also use to discover music), and it also gives me control in what I want to hear. Some of us do not want to upgrade.Look, this is a great app. You can listen to other people’s music and post your own so others can hear it. Cool concept, one I definitely have taken advantage of these past few days. However, this feature has a catch: you can only post so much for free until the app basically forces you to upgrade to pro, which you have to pay $199 a month for?!? EVEN if you have an account?? That’s ridiculous!! I suggest as a compromise that every time you upload past the limit, you have to watch an ad. It’s not the best compromise, sure, but ads make money. And if you want to make money, I suggest doing that instead. Maybe while the track is getting ready, an ad will play. FrustratedSeems like the app worked perfectly until I decided to pay for it. It makes no sense to me. Seems like it should be the other way around. I like it for music, I guess.I think what truly ruins the experience is the same culprit that could ruin any music app, ads are one of the main reasons I dislike using this app, they’re long, repetitive, and after a while become very annoying. But can we get some different ads, maybe instead of interrupting the music experience, just do pop-ups, at least get some new shorter ads. Good but uh.....This app is really great if you like unpopular songs and sped/slowed songs of you favorite artists, it's not hard to find songs most of the time or find amazing alternatives! But.... There are still a lot of problems with this app, usually after two songs you get an add and SoundCloud used to remember the songs you last listens to so if you had no wifi you could still listen to your last five maybe ten or so songs you listened to which was a lifesaver on toadtrips but now I need constant wifi just to keep a single song on loop... Soundcloud ReviewI have only been using this app for a few weeks however it has a very widely spread amount of music. Although subscribing to the premium is the only way for downloads and offline listening, most apps don't give you the ability to listen with your screen off unless you have paid for the premium. Which I am thankful for because my phone doesn't have the greatest battery life. So having the screen off helps reduce the drainage. My only complaint is the lack of an ability to slow or speed up the songs. For an example, you like going along with Eminems “Rap God” but you are unable to go as fast as Eminem. So your solution would be to slow the song down a hair. Not horrible, but not perfectThere are many minor issue about the app, like how you cant re arrange your liked songs and have to add every song to a playlist to control their positions (which i dont understand why thats even a thing). But the main 2 issues i have with this is the amount of times the app refreshes after its opened, to the point where it becomes the norm, and the amount of ads it give. Advertisement InteruptuonsI don’t have a problem with ads, the app has to make money somehow but it would be nice to be able to do more while ads are playing; such as: being able to look at other songs/ pick the next song while ads are playing. Sometimes it will auto play to a song I didn’t want to listen to in the first place so when I skip it after the ad is done I’m now one song closer to the next ad... Another thing I’ve noticed is if your phone is in sleep mode during an ad it will continue playing with no video but if your browsing while an ad comes on you are forced to play the video with it and exiting the app or enabling sleep mode will pause the ad forcing you to play the video to continue. This feature can be very frustrating if your trying to play music at work or are multi tasking and also eats up unnecessary battery life. Needs some additions but best way to find new musicEveryone knows all the good things of SoundCloud like growing new artists so fast and helping people find new music. I’m gonna give a few suggestions for it though. Things that I want in the app; the computer version is great, but you know we all want music on the go and most people use their phones. As a producer with my own page I would like the messages to be on the phone and comments and more interaction with my fans on my phone. Various platforms, all pleasingI went from just browser listening years ago, through the iPad app, and now to the iPhone app. My androids never had the capacity (I always had 16gb or lower androids with my old carrier), so I’m sure it’s awesome on that platform too, but I’m so pleased to get access to the rare tracks SoundCloud provides from friends, international acts, and underground strangers alike. My password was saved from my account from the iPad, and still saves my old rare favorites from years ago. For example, no other audio app has my friends Jabari Exum & Baye Harrell on their 1999 cut featuring the poetry of Chadwick Bozeman, or my favorite cover track, Hiatus Kaiyote’s version of “Dare” by the Gorillaz. Good app, just some issuesTL/DR: Had it for years, having trouble, overall perfect app for music lovers and makers. I have been using SoundCloud ever since my middle school years back in roughly 2015. I used it on the computers, my laptop, my phones and everything else I had at the time. The app does not support up n coming artists like it advertisesBeware, this app is a good music app, I listen to music purely on the cloud, but as an artist I can tell you 1 thing forsure. SoundCloud is just like most streaming services where it focuses on mainstream and attempts to keep the smaller artists down. They make the app malfunction on attempt of following these artists, they also cause the app to malfunction if you do get around that and end up following them, by saying “sorry this page isn’t available” then the next day your all the sudden not following them. I’ve ran multiple tests, this app literally walks all over the small artists. They also cause the links to not work for a lot of these small artists, so if you click there name it won’t take you to them but the links work for big artists. Locked out of AccountEdit: As of this most recent update, I’ve been logged out of my account and am unable to log back in due to “something unexpected” happening. New layout update is atrocious.The new updated layout for the music feed makes it so you can only view a single track at a time, ruining the experience and ability to view multiple tracks on your feed. The feed has a single track that takes up the entire screen, where you can preview it or play it - when you play it, the screen switches to the play screen and you have to minimize it again to get back to the feed screen; you then have to swipe down to get to the next track on the feed. It’s completely unnecessary and makes it so you can’t view multiple tracks from different artists on your screen - you have to swipe through a single track one at a time. It’s extremely frustrating and really ruins the ability to find new music quickly and efficiently. It’s the equivalent of having to read one tweet at a time on your feed that takes up the whole screen. The searches never come up the they do on desktop, I never see my page with my spotlight 5 tracks when I open it up, i have to scroll forever just to get to what is normally right there on my desktop.... the app gets ZERO. Lots of minor/medium problemsSoundCloud is fine. I like that it’s free. There are some songs, like Elise by The Greeting Committee, that used to be free but now require a premium for you to listen to. I’d prefer if more were free, but beggars can’t be choosers. For one, when I try to scroll down quickly, the app gets really laggy, shows me one frame a second, and scrolls down incredibly slow. Terrible/non existent support & shady business practicesFirst of all they have no phone number for the entire company no contact for support, billing, etc. which is a huge red flag. The only way of contacting them is by submitting a ticket which they will take their time getting to if they even decide to respond. And if you try to cancel your subscription the day it is set to renew they will renew your subscription regardless of you choosing to cancel it and they will keep your money for an entire extra month that you cancelled and did not want. Frustrating ExperienceI've been using SoundCloud for years, and I must say that my recent experience has been nothing short of disappointing. It seems like the platform's quality has taken a nosedive. First and foremost, the constant stream of ads is beyond annoying. Disappointed but holds a place in my heartI love SoundCloud coz I’ve been using it literally since elementary school, but it’s gone down hill. First, when you shuffle your playlist, it’s like the app has pre made shuffle lists from your playlist so it plays the same songs in the same order. I noticed this way too much so I tested this by writing down the sounds that would play, then a few days later I’d shuffle my list and it matched. That’s really dumb and annoying and I don’t understand why that’s a feature, if my playlist being shuffled like that is simply by chance then that’s crazy, but if it’s the app then why? Second, ads: before I didn’t mind the ads, but now when using the mobile app if an ad plays while you’re on the app, you’re forced to watch/skip the ad because it won’t play off the app in the background. Love HateI have a love hate relationship with Soundcloud. Compared to other streaming platforms like Spotify, Soundcloud offers a really good quality of the sound (it’s so much better than Spotify, even when the settings are on the highest quality). To top it off, Soundcloud offers a huge variety of songs and a lot of the songs I listen to are on Soundcloud, but not on other streaming platforms like Apple Music or even Spotify. So, is the app any good? Well, absolutely not. It’s gotten worse over the time, and right now, I don’t know if soundcloud wants me to stop using their app, but they’re doing an excellent job at making the it as frustrating, buggy and slow as possible. Going thru the songs in my playlists is a real nightmare because the app is extremely buggy and unstable, and I feel like everytime I scroll in the songs, the app might crash. For a premium sound as Soundcloud offers, you would expect a premium app, which is actually in reality the complete opposite. I started using Soundcloud back in 2012, and since that time, the app and the platform changed a lot, from being really user friendly to a complete buggy mess. To top it off, I now have, since I think now 1 or 2 years, have to listen to garbage adds every 3-4 songs. It would be alright if I listened to 10 minutes songs, but in my Lo-Fi playlist, where every song is approximately 1 minute, it’s really, really annoying. I often just close the app and go listen to a playlist on Youtube. The conclusion of my review is this : Dear Soundcloud, stop trying to be like Spotify and Apple Music, because you are not the same streaming platform and you won’t win against these guys, because they have really good apps that are way better than yours because they were created specifically for this type of streaming service. Soundcloud has a big advantage on these apps, which is the variety of music you can find; songs that are not available on the other streaming platforms, but that are on Soundcloud. Also, the sound quality is amazing compared to Spotify, which is another big advantage. Take these advantages and do something with them to exploit them to the fullest, which is not by trying to copy Spotify or Apple Music. Make something different because Soundcloud is not Spotify or Apple Music, and it’ll never be. There are other ways to support the artists than putting garbage adds every 4 songs and trying to make us buy Soundcloud Go, that will only make a small amount of songs available to listen fully. You know you can put adds between the songs in our streams, like Facebook and Instagram does instead of making us hear a goddam stupid annoying add? Fix your goddamn app, find an other way to finance it and to support the artists and now we’ll be talking and Soundcloud might be the next best streaming platform.
