Keeps crashing after the update!After the update a couple months ago the app keeps crashing. I’m not fond of the added feature of if you listen to a song the other songs connected to the album try to download. I have tried the app on 2 different devices and it crashes on both of them. I am on the road a lot and download my playlists to Bluetooth into my radio. The app used to work fine then it did an update and now it takes an act of God to get it to hook up to the Bluetooth or just listen on the device without crashing. I would also like to know why when I have a playlist downloaded the app decides it needs to do it over and over. The playlist will be downloaded then when I try to hook up to my pickup radio “poof” it isn’t downloaded anymore. If I had an option to move my music I would. Some of my music I was Forced to transfer from google play music that I had purchased (like over 2000 songs)when they decided to close that app down. Now I have music that I had paid for already that I can’t even listen to even though I pay the stupid monthly fee. I am being changed monthly to listen to My already purchased music and the app keeps crashing and I can’t listen to it. I wish things could be left alone it was working fine and I didn’t mind the monthly fee since I was able to add more music but now I am paying the fee and can’t even listen to the stuff I already purchased from google play music. Mostly perfectWell everything is amazing with the app and with subscription only thing I wish they would do is lower the pricing for the subscriptions and here’s why I wish they would because some family’s are homeless and this subscription is how they keep their baby’s n children calm why they try to find work or do things or the single subscription for homeless teens(yes I said home teens that I have no way come the teens that are transgender in the family wants nothing to do with them so they kick them out onto the streets the teens that are part of the LGBTQ plus communityThat have no income because they’re too young to work a full-time job or even a part-time job without parental consent but they enjoy the music because it’s the only lifeline they have types of teen) and dingle adults who are trying to find work or work just enough to pay rent/Utilities/ Transportation to and from work and other needs doctors etc…… those types of family’s/single individuals who can’t pay the high prices to be able to turn screen off while they ride bikes/buses /walking with-without strollers kanes/walkers to who go to and from work/school/daycares/doctors or around town to find odd jobs to be able to eat those are the people I referre to when I say they might not be able to pay the asking price n can’t afford it I wish they would lower the price or make a type of screen just for them and have prof of these type of things for them to be on that plan I know you won’t read this but it’s an idea you should consider other then this small issues it’s awesome I love using the app above all other music app out there this is my fav n go to as long as I can afford it I’ll use it The friendly customer Frankie.Pink weirdo FrankieVersion: 5.09

App displaying wrong songThis is probably one of the best music apps that I have used because it is so easy to use and the music catalog is truly unmatched. However, there is a couple things that need to be addressed before this is the PERFECT app. One being that if you are playing music for an extended period of time, the app has a tendency of not letting you be able to skip to the next song (even if you are a premium user) and the only way to get it back to normal is to exit and close the app entirely and then open it again. Sometimes it works the first time and other times you have to repeat that process which is pretty annoying. Another annoying thing is that when you go to listen to a playlist for a few minutes to a few hours, sometimes the songs you want to play won’t play at all, instead it will play the very FIRST song that you have added to that playlist. Even if you get the song you want to play to actually start playing, the artist and song that you have as the first song in your playlist with now be the name of the song that you’re playing (even though it’s clearly not the one you wanted to listen to!) Either that or the picture/album cover will be messed around in that same aspect. Kind of a long read, I know, but these are a few of the visual and auditorial issues you may come across while using this app and I truly wish that these would get addressed. It’s good music app for music you can’t find anywhere else but there’s a thing…I’ve been using this app as free since highschool, before downloading music from CDs and putting them on my phone (of course I still CDs back then because of the bands I love to listen to and want them on the go for more compact then listening it at home). Even getting the premium version later on so I can listen non stop without interruption was amazing to me and having anything on demand is perfect for my needs. It’s a good music app since most of the time lest you play videos as music you can listen to from music you can’t find anywhere else which is a plus but has some few visual glitches when using it. First off needs to fix the lag when trying to add to playlist or start a radio. Sometimes the music you are listening to can be bugged and have a non interactive menus where you would have to restart then app to fix, had to do this a few times which is annoying and hope it can be fixed. And offline mode can be slow and hope to improve on it. I usually listen to music when I’m somewhere with no signal and fixing this will help a lot. Overall great app and will continue to use in the future for my listening needs :) it’s the only place where I can find the music I like not found anywhere else on music streaming services. Great musicI love this app so much, it gives you such great music and a hole bunch of great artists, it gives you like a couple day free triel which is fine I enjoy that a lot. The one thing though is that sometimes it can give you a like 1 minute long add and you can’t skip, sometimes it doesn’t bother me but that’s the one thing that gets me, this app also has a lot of my favorite artists like Sabrina carpenter, Juice Wrld, etc. for all those 1 star reviews, I don’t think your telling the truth because I’ve tried a lot of the reviews and what the people are saying and it is not true al least not for me, so if your gonna write a review about a app that is this good maybe try a different app before leaving the reviews because I really like this app and so do other millions of 5 star 4 star reviews, so don’t try to ruin this app by those hate comments or bad reviews. Musi. Lost playlistThe app is fine, amazing even, but I only got this app because I used to have the app called Musi. Interestingly I still had access to the app even though it was deleted off the AppStore although I had forgotten about that and decided to offload the app since it wasn’t working due to internet connection and thought that would fix it since I’m impatient. I wouldn’t be as bothered if it wasn’t that there is 1 playlist on that app I truly care about and it’s a playlist called “fav songs” it’s had over 2000+ songs in that playlist over the years. All I want is to have that playlist back or just a few screenshots of the all the songs in that playlist so I can add them here. I honestly don’t expect that yall even have the ability to do that since yall don’t exactly own the app it would just be nice to recover my playlist again. On the other hand, I do love the app as it’s a similar format I’m used to. I’m just grieving over my old playlist since it was only a few days ago lol. Consistently InconsistentAs a delivery driver, it’s nice to have some music while working. Also as a delivery driver, I’m constantly getting in and out of my car for pickups and deliveries and also have to plug in and unplug my phone from my Apple CarPlay every time. And every single time I unplug then plug in my phone, this app shuts down and doesn’t keep my queue in music playlists. Sometimes I will be unplugged for a minute or two and even then, it restarts the app and I’ll have to restart my playlists again over and over. 90% of the time it does this, the other 10% is when it miraculously stays open without refreshing. I like the app because it’s good to have it with the benefit of my premium subscription. I hope I’m not the only one who experiences this. Oct 2020 deserves a star back for the UI updateAdding another star back for fixing the error where you would return to the beginning of the song or turn off repeat upon return to the app if you had background privileges revoked for the app. Any more of these decent updates and this might be a 5-star app! ~~~ Finally can see “stat’s for nerds” in app. Sliding between playback and playlist screens is slick, with controls for repeat right on the same page as playback. I almost took the star off though because the in-your-face playlist suggestions (which I never use) are stil there taking up half the homescreen. Still have to click/swipe 5-10 times to get to what I want. You had a big opportunity here, and scored 100% only on the 50% you completed. ~~~ ! am on a paid subscription. It is very hard to navigate to the playlists you want to listen to in the app, much less play the songs you want on repeat. There is a dumb “Home” page that has near-zero value added to any non-deaf music listener. LET US CREATE SHORTCUTS/BOOKMARKS INSTEAD OF “GUESSING” WHAT WE “USUALLY” PLAY!! (If you’re going to force us into a “home” screen, that is) Also, it is —>impossible to repeat songs or playlists<— while streaming to a device over AirPlay, Roku, ChromeCast, or any other “Smart” method I have tried. Great app with a good amount of bugs that mess up the greatness of the app.Another song now unavailable to play only on my playlist, like I can search it up and it’s there and fine to listen to but my playlist refuses to see it as a valid song. On top of that videos are being converted to the original audio which could be good if I wanted it done but when I’m listening to two songs mashed up I don’t want the mash up to be converted into the regular song that’s first in the mash up. We get it you can tell where the songs originated from but I wanna hear my mash up. Only other thing I have to complain about is the song I’m listening to not showing up on the playing now screen, it’s usually the whole playlist switching songs despite one being playing(all visuals but still annoying) that or the song I’m trying to play isn’t the one being played when I click on that song in my playlist. You can listen to music with thisYes it is true, you can use this app to listen to music, shocking. However if you move your phone while in the app, cause you have to be in app to hear the music unless you pay, the music tends to minimize and you can accidentally tap on and start playing a different song. Also the quick picks feature is neat, though it will recommend some music that I haven’t listened to in 5 months and at that I barely listened to at all, I was listening the the cure, tilted my phone and accidentally started playing lemon demon, and there isn’t a way that I know of to hop back into what you were listening to, idk make the back button for songs at the start of a queue be able to take you back to your last queue, problem solved. Also allow the option to turn off tilt controls, I cannot think of a place or time when I would be glad that they are there, cause I could just drag my finger down the screen. 1 thingI’ve been a longtime user and the best thing about YT Music is that you can access/play songs that aren’t available on any of the other platforms through videos from YT. They can be added to playlists just like any other track. That’s really the only advantage they have over the comp. I’ve tried a lot of the other popular streaming services but always come back to YT Music after finding that a decent amount of the music I listen to is unavailable. For me, that’s a big deal. 4 star worthy. The rest of the app & experience - meh. The recommendations/music discovery are average but on par with the other services. The “Start Radio” is hit or miss but rarely continues the musical theme that initiated the process. It’ll also use songs already in my library or playlist. But every now and then, the YT gods will bless me with a gem. I really wish they would allow search strictly within a playlist and enable some sort of light mode. This App Used To Be BetterI’ve been using YT Music for many years. I’ve seen almost, if not all versions of this app and the differences between them. Once upon a time your downloads just loaded up, like it’s downloaded locally to your phone/tablet. Now, it seemingly has to attempt a network connection to access your downloads. I’m unsure if this is due to downloads and library being part of the same general area of the app or just pure incompetence. I understand phones may have to load into the directory of downloaded music, but if I’m not connected to any internet, whether it be WiFi or mobile data, it should be rather quick. In addition, the inclusion of shorts styled songs to hear new music is just unnecessary. The UI for going to album or artist used to be much simpler, a scrolling bar above play controls for liking and downloading is clunky at best and visually unappealing. More recently, my queue will be deleted if I close the app. This has never been a problem before recent updates as of October 2023. It seems to be fixed now a month later. My final gripe with this once pretty decent music player is that it crashes far too often then it used to. More recently all of my individually downloaded songs were deleted randomly. Never have I deleted any YT or Google apps, so I’m unsure as to how they were removed as it seems YT downloads and YT Music downloads to some degree share similar download directories. TLDR: This app used to be a decent and functional replacement for other apps. Over the years this app has had things seemingly shoved into it at random or for no reason and UI “improvements” have done nothing to be beneficial to the end user experience. It is still serviceable but I would only advise if you currently subscribe to YT Premium or YT Music equivalent, should one exist. Quality of life here is utter garbageIt’s a functional app. That’s the best I can say. Music is stored on here and you can listen to it. The library is about the standard with the bonus of being able to save videos for the tracks you can’t find. But the good stuff ends there. Opening the app brings you to a home with your playlists. Psyche. It takes you a page featuring “listen again” and auto-generated playlists. You have to click to go to your library, then select playlists or albums from there. It’s not the end of the world but it gets tedious. Speaking of albums, it only registers you as having the album if you save the ENTIRE album. If you just have one song it won’t show up. The biggest offender is how playlists work. In them you can search for tracks to add or take auto-generated suggestions. However you CANNOT simply go through your library and check every song you want to add. You have to add every single song manually. This app is below averageUsing this app since it’s replacing google play. I don’t like that it takes forever to connect to my Bluetooth it seems to always have a lag and the music buffers in the beginning too. I never experienced this with google play. Maybe the music videos are still loading in the background even though it’s on “music only” mode. I also really dislike that my music never picks up where it left off when I’m done. I have to manually go and search for my song every time I restart my car or anytime I come back to the app really. I’ve tried not closing the app on my home screen but it didn’t make a difference. Sometimes my playlists can get long and searching for a song toward the middle is annoying. I do like that I can find any song that’s on YT on here though, sometimes google play would not offer songs YT music has offered. Good to avoid YT shorts :DIt’s good in everything except of 2 things: 1) bugs - on iPhone the screen gets stuck in horizontal layout when you accidentally turn you phone sideways; windows (different clickable parts of the interface) get overlayed so you cannot click on something you need. You have to restart the app which is super annoying. 2) browser interface - it’s YT music, I want to see the list of music in my current playlist, not an image/label of the song that is playing right now. If browser is in full screen, you can see the list of songs in the right side. However, I usually use split view I loose a good chunk of the interface functionality (like/dislike and some more) and the list of songs relocates to the bottom of the screen under the songs image, which would be okay but the image part takes the entire screen and you cannot resize it. Neat app, but a few improvements could be useful.I give this four stars because it’s an amazing app, and I’ve been using it on my Lenovo / Google Home smart clock to fall asleep. As well as I like it, there are a few things that I would like to be added. For one, when I ask it to play a certain person or music company that I like, for example Waterflame, or Danimal Cannon, I want it to just play those songs. I’m tired of skipping songs to the point where I can’t even skip anything without a membership. Second of all, stop flooding your ads with membership advertisements! It’s annoying to me because imagine hearing after every single song: “Buy our membership!” And I would also like the option to not play certain songs, because after a while it plays lo-fi music or old school hip-hop, but I don’t want that to happen. Missing a couple thingsI chose YouTue Music over other streaming services because I love video game soundtracks, sometimes really obscure ones. YT offers that as well as all the mainstream pop albums I could ask for. The “radio” suggestions are usually pretty good and the interface is easy to understand. So I’m happy with it for the most part. I’m really disappointed with the library management features though. You can create playlists out of individual songs, but there’s no good way to manage a large amount of songs you’ve liked or downloaded. You can only sort by download date, which isn’t helpful on playlists more than a few dozen songs large. You can’t move multiple songs around between playlists if you want to reorganize things. I guess the app is intended to mostly be for streaming whatever the algorithm wants to suggest, but I really wish the app was more friendly towards building up and managing your own hand-picked collection of music. What I think would solve this issue is the ability to add personal tags to songs you’ve downloaded, and then sort by those tags. That way I can easily find whatever individual song I’m looking for by bringing one of its tags to the top, rather than trying to memorize the order my playlist is in or when I downloaded it and scrolling through the whole playlist hunting for it. Being able to change a song’s display name on a playlist would also be amazing. I imagine that’s a huge request and probably will never happen. But until I can manage a large collection of songs better, YT Music is not quite a complete solution to my music needs..Vglistener429Version: 3.25

Randomize Button??I love the app. But they removed the randomize button. Now you have to jump though hoops to randomize your muisc. You have to push the three dots to the side of the playlist then press radom, or press play THEN press the random button there. Randomizing your music the second way garentees that the first will ALWASE be the same. 👎I mean, come on Google. Even Apple Music has the randomizer button. I get thet it streamlines the look but when im on the road i dont want to have to get my pasenger to randomize my muisc. Want to love it but …I love the extended collection compared to other services - especially the ability to have live versions of songs in my playlists. There are a couple of items though that makes it hard to commit to this service. 1) Why isn’t there an ability to sort your playlists by other things? Like Artist? Song Title? Or by date added (like when I added it to the playlist)? 2) On the app, playing videos is so inconsistent. I know there is a video for that song (I see it on the web browser), when I toggle to video, the audio changes BUT no video shows up (just the same thumbnail as the audio option). If I close out of the app, and come back in, I can get the video to play. But after a few songs (with videos) have played, it’s right back to the issue of the video not playing. 2.5) adding one more, I would like to use the web browser on my laptop (especially while working) BUT it’s a memory hog. Love this app for sure but…Not a fan of going into my library and seeing a bunch of artists instead of just my playlists. When I subscribe to an artist it pops up on the library, but when I checked the ones listed, I’m not even subscribed to them. It’s like it keeps pages of artists I’ve searched but I don’t want that. When I click on my library I just want to see my playlists, I hate when artist pages get in the mix because then things get hard for me to find. I shouldn’t have to use a filter in order to see JUST my playlists. Another thing that’s been aggravating me is how when I find edited versions of an original song and it doesn’t save in my playlist as the edited version. For example, I love this one song but I hate how long the intro to it is. When I actually found the same song WITHOUT the intro, I tried saving it into my playlist but when I check, it’s literally the song with the long intro included. Used to love this appI can’t stand this app anymore. I’m half tempted to cancel my subscription and go somewhere else for my music even though all of my music is here. Most of the time I can’t even play through one song without it crashing and force closing itself. Which isn’t a big deal if it does it every now and then but it’s not. I use this app every single day and throughout the day it crashes about 30-40 time for me. And it’s never once then you get a break. When it does crash and you reopen the app to restart your music for you drive in the car and it will crash 4 or 5 time back to back. And naturally it will only do it about halfway through the song. And I have talked to some people that I know personally that use this app for music as well and they are experiencing the same problems. If this were my app I’d be ashamed to have my name on it. Missing Google play musicIn all honesty I switched over to this app with a really open mind because I figured it would work about the same as Google play music. But I've been disappointed in certain functions. I mostly listen to my music while I'm driving so the download-only feature is really important. On Google, you could toggle your downloads on and off and then sort by artist if you wanted. I've noticed on this app that if you want to listen to downloads you can either choose one individual album or you can shuffle all of your songs. This is frustrating to me. The other thing I'm not thrilled about is the really bad lag when I skip a song or two. And this is still if I'm only listening to my downloaded music so there is no reason for the app to act like it's buffering or whatever the problem is here?? I really wanted to like this app. I did. Love itFirst music service I’ve paid for and I love it. Even the free version with ads is still more complacent than all the other music platforms, not to mention how it includes free access to any music, the ability to play in whatever order, play next, and many more, all you can even do without paying. That’s honestly why I tried it in the first place because it was already so good free but then the premium makes it ten times better. Love the personal mixes, love the radios, and absolutely love the offline mistake. However, my one and only peeve is that sometimes my offline mixtape gets stuck downloading a track and then doesn’t finish at all, currently whenever that happens I just uninstall/reinstall. Great AppI’ve been using this app for a few years now. It’s really enjoyable to listen to music that you like on YT appear here for convenient listening. They also fixed the shuffle feature late last year so now your most listened to songs will not always be at the start of the playlist. I like that you can move around the songs and create your own playlist once you select a song or press shuffle. There are still two issues though: 1. Moving around songs can be difficult as the songs often do not want to move around right away. It can be very annoying. 2. The bigger issue is actually one YT should fix for sure, as it is a safety concern. It seems that the music will pause if you do not the touch the screen for 30 minutes. This means that if you have a long drive, you’ll have to touch your phone screen every so often to ensure the music doesn’t pause. The fact that the music pauses is not good as it leads to distracted driving, which could lead to car accidents. Aside from just driving, it’s just annoying to have to remind yourself to do this when you are working on homework or something. It’s very frustrating, but I believe the removal of this is locked behind premium, which it should not be. But aside from these issues, I love the app. It doesn’t have every song you like which is a bummer (specifically if you like music such as VGM I’ve noticed this occur the most with). But I believe the uploader of the video needs to set something when uploading so that is not an issue YT can fix unless they removed that option for uploaders and just put everything that was marked as music in YT music..Nin10dofan_98Version: 4.05

Good Google Play music transfer, other things to improveI’m super happy they finally allowed the transfer of our Google Play music playlists, but using this as my main music app is going to need a few improvements if I’m being honest. One “tiny” complaintOk, so this app is great if you just wanna listen to music, which I like to do. So I opened the app, and it asked my if I wanted to start my free trial. After all, this is a premium subscription you’re paying for, not a trial. Basic features are a failureI truly don't understand how this app is rated so well. It fails in the most basic of ways, making using it a continually frustrating experience. When viewing Library by Artist, instead of showing the Albums by that artist like every music app ever, including Google Play Music, it just lists all the songs by that artist. "YT Music" and "Uploads" are separated when. Looking at your library, so you have to look in two different places to see all the content from a single artist. Loop preference does not persist between queues, so when you start a new album or playlist, if you want it to loop, you have to select that EACH TIME. You can view Downloads just fine if you have service, but if you're in a low service area, the app will just sit at a loading screen forever, blocking access to everything, unless you turn on airplane mode. It's a mess. The only marginal improvement on Google Play Music has been consistent album art when in offline mode (it'd just disappear in GPM for some reason). Devs, Clean Your HouseThis app SUCKS. The only reason I use it is because it has the largest music library and I can find almost every song I’ve ever liked. HOWEVER, NOTHING else works in the app. The wrong song will play with the wrong artwork, with the wrong title of the song, with the wrong track length.
