SIMPLE, EASY & FAST CALORIE COUNTING

Calory is your ultimate calorie counter and a quick way to count, track & tally your calories during the day.

WHY COUNT CALORIES?

Everyone has a personalized number of calories they should eat every day based on factors including their weight, height, activity levels, and weight loss/maintenance/gain goals. It’s hard to track calorie intake, though, not least because it’s easy to forget everything you eat during a busy day. Recording your calories as you eat gives you a clearer picture of the calories you are consuming. It also enhances your awareness of food values and nutrient levels, all of which helps you make healthier choices when eating.

HOW CALORY WORKS

Based on your weight, height and activity level, Calory will calculate a suggested daily calorie goal for you. The daily goal will also factor in if you want to maintain, lose or gain weight.
After you know your daily energy requirements, your challenge is to eat the right number of calories. Calory, meanwhile, will remind you throughout the day to record your calorie intake. Even better, there is no registration or sign up required! All the information you enter into Calory is stored on your iCloud, protecting your privacy.

Calory: Calorie Counter Macros App Comments & Reviews

Calory: Calorie Counter Macros Positive Reviews

Super nice BUT exercise?I prefer this app to my fitness pall first off because of its design and conciseness. However I am not sure how the app integrates/considers burned calories with the calorie goal. I saw in the setting that this is possible but unlike other calorie counting apps I don’t see a manual way to input my exercises or step count for the day. I am unsure whether it’ll automatically sync with what’s recorded in my health data, however this is nothing I’ll stress over! Awesome app overall! Awesome! I would like to add though, I understand now how the calorie intake should be adjusted, but as someone who doesn’t have their Apple Watch right now (I do have one though) my steps don’t seem to count towards the burned calorie differential, as I reviewed what calory asks to read from health and it doesn’t include steps. I think It would be super cool as well to assure that burned calories are considered in someone’s manually set goal, rather than the one provided by calorys calculations. Awesome app nonetheless!.Version: 1.11

Great app, but a somewhat inaccurate net carb count. This app is fantastic, and it syncs up perfectly with the WaterMinder app as well as the Health app. The only complaint I have is about the net carb count. Fiber isn’t the only thing that can be subtracted from total carbs in order to calculate net carbs. For example, sugar alcohol and erythritol are two ingredients that also count towards calculating net carbs. However, the app’s current design doesn’t count anything other than the fiber content when it calculates net carbs, mostly because there’s no place in the app for these nutrients/ingredients to be noted in the food items. When adding in our own foods, it’d be great if there were spots for items such as sugar alcohol (g) and erythritol, and other items as well, to make calculating net carbs more accurate for people on special diets who can only consume X# of net carbs daily. One other issue of note is that the “meal” function doesn’t work properly. Every time I try creating a “meal” in the settings, it will end up glitching when I go and add said meal to my calorie count later. It doubles some food items, removes other food items, and then when I try going back into the settings and, for example, removing the extra food items it added for no reason, it ends up removing ALL of the food items even though I save it as being one of each food item. Very annoying..Version: 2.1.0

Actually...Simple, Easy and Fast!It’s... Simple, easy and fast. All I want is an easy way to track my calories myself. I know how many calories I’m consuming and just want to add the number manually myself, this app allows me to do that. I love the feature that also keeps tabs on your progress towards your goal weight, because obviously anyone tracking calories has a goal in mind. I can see how many calories I need a day to reach my goal weight, how many calories I have left to eat for the day and I can also record my weight and see how it changes over time. That’s all I want. Not a million useless features that most people don’t need or want or understand which makes navigating the app and trying to record what you want all the more difficult. This app has none of that, it is very user friendly and I am an absolute fan. FunnMedia gets it, thank you! I will likely upgrade soon to unlock more useful features as I become more consistent with hitting my goals..Version: 1.4

LOVE this simple, aesthetic app.I prefer this to any other calorie app I’ve tried, including my plate and my fitness pal. It’s SO EASY to add food quickly, and you can make it as simple or as complex as you want (only track calories, or track macros too, water, or even some electrolytes!!). You can look up the food, or just type in the calorie count. I also just absolutely love the design. I love physically seeing when I go over my calorie limit for the day, and exactly how much I did. It’s so cute and motivating. It was funny seeing like 100 red marbles for the day I really overdid it, vs the one red marble when I was just 5 cals over. It feels so much better than some of the other apps that just turn your WHOLE DAY red because you went 3 calories over. That can be so demotivating. Whereas this app doesn’t demand perfection, and you don’t hate yourself for going a smidge over. Thanks for making this app! It’s fantastic..Version: 2.0.6

LOVE this app, but it needs exercise!Love how simple and beautiful this app is. The ability to just manually throw in calories I eat rather than setting every single meal made this a winner for me, as someone who is only tracking one or two macros. There’s still the option for full recipes and things too! The UI is gorgeous and no-nonsense, as well as very customizable, which makes tracking my food pleasant and exciting rather than a chore. The one thing its missing is a way to let it know when your burning calories through exercise. I think I saw from a year old review that they were planning on adding it, but apparently it’s not here yet! As someone whose been hopping around looking for the perfect fitness and nutrition tracking app, this is the last feature needed to set it at the top of any I’ve ever tried! Hoping it gets added soon!.Version: 2.2

No Way to Log Exercise CaloriesSo far I like the design of the app a lot. I like that it’s easy to add calories from a meal, which makes this app preferable than many other calorie counting apps for me. However, I am absolutely baffled that there is no way to log exercise. This should be a very simple feature to implement. If I can add positive calories from food, it should be relatively simple to add negative calories from exercise. All the developers would need to do is just add one more category. Had I realized you couldn’t do that at all, I probably would have purchased a different app instead. It’s rather disappointing because I see reviews from a year ago complaining about the same thing, but clearly nothing has been done to change it. If you’re not interested in logging any calories from exercise, then the app would work great for you. If you do work out though, you’ll need to find another way to keep track of your exercise and mentally adjust the day’s allotted calories accordingly..Version: 2.2.1

Best calorie tracker I’ve ever tried!I used this app for about a week before purchasing it, so here’s my take on it: - Their free version can be used forever, with no ads, and very little indication that you’re using a subscription based app, unlike many of the competitors. - They have a One Time Payment, lifetime plan available. - The app is easy to understand, and pretty easy to use. - Their catalog contains so many foods, basically anything you would want, even when using it for free. - Has an option to set your goal for gaining weight, if that’s what you need. - I’ve found that many of these apps only have weight loss options… - The app can read your burned calories estimate from apple health, and adjust your daily calorie goal off of that. - This is especially useful because you never know when your going to have a really active day, or a lazy day, throwing off the accuracy of a set goal. - Premium Only: Their barcode scanner is lightning fast. - It can do this faster than the scanners at walmart, when checking out. - Premium Only: It’s broad collection of food has basically everything you could think of, down to Vitamin C tablets. This is an amazing app, and it’s useful for both those who are willing to pay for it, and not. Thank you for your hard work!.Version: 2.1.3

Great app, but I have some feedbackBeen using this app daily for over a year, really love the simplicity. I have a few feature requests though: - allow inputting the gram amount of a food instead of the quantity (this would prevent the user from having to go to a calculator, and divide grams for the quantity and copy and paste it into the app) - add toggle for Home Screen to show macro counts in individual food rows. I see a recent update was done to add this, but it clutters up the screen and can’t be removed without turning off macro tracking (unless I’m mistaken) Edit: love that the devs responded and noted down my feedback. I have another request: when scanning in foods, either fetch the gram amount for the serving size or allow the user to edit it in. It helps to standardize serving sizes in grams for consistency..Version: 2.2

Great App With Some Minor FlawsUpdate 10/10: Some of my complaints from my original review were addressed (and resolved) in under a week, which I found incredible and worth a mention! ———————Original Review————————— I have really been enjoying using this app and have even purchased the premium membership. Since I don’t see a dedicated button in the app to submit feedback, I will leave my thoughts here. There is currently no way to add notes to recipes created in ‘My Foods’. The ‘Notes’ section is only available for recipes created via Manual Entry. There is also no way to edit a recipe that is located under the ‘My Foods’ section. This has caused some annoyance as I tend to change the brands of ingredients I use, which tends to change the nutritional info as well. Since I cannot edit these foods, my only option has been to delete and re-create the entry, which is unintuitive..Version: 2.1.1

Good on privacy and simplicity, could use some workI like how the app has no ads and uses iCloud for syncing rather than forcing me to create an account and sending me spam emails like other apps. The interface is rather easy to use once you get used to it. I also like that there is an Apple Watch app and complication. That said there are some things that could be improved. Firstly the Apple Watch complication seems to not consistently update when you add a food from your phone. This is rather frustrating since I would like to be able to look at my calorie count at a glance from my watch but I can’t really do this if the count is sometimes off. The UI is definitely a lot better when you activate the journal view in the settings. This allows you to see what you’ve eaten so far in the day from the main screen like in most apps. This mode should probably be made the default since some people may not find the journal view in settings and the current default mode wastes a lot of screen real estate on an imprecise calorie progress indicator that looks like a jar of jelly beans. Also, the developers should consider moving the UI to create new plates from the settings to its own screen since I don’t think it’s very intuitive to have it in settings. Custom plates are not really “settings” but a kind of user data..Version: 1.11

Great, with some minor issues and one feature requestI love this app. It’s the only food tracking app that allows me to prioritize sodium in addition to my macros and calories. It’s widgets are top notch as well, and I love the way the little red balls fill up the screen when you go over. A perfect visual metaphor. Minor frustration: when adding food to a given meal, if I select an item from my recent list, the item goes into the meal I last ate it with. For example, I click the plus sign on lunch to add a scoop of protein powder, and my recent food features the protein powder I had with dinner the night before. That scoop gets added to dinner despite me having clicked the add to lunch button. Feature Request: the thing that would make this app absolutely indispensable to me would be the ability to pre load and then check off items. For example, in the morning I tend to pre plan my day, constructing a meal plan that fits perfectly to my macros. I’d love a little check box or something that let me keep track of which pieces of my meal Plan I had consumed. It wouldn’t need to interact with the totals to be useful, those could be updated right away, it would just allow me to remember which snacks and such I had eaten. This is particularly useful with supplements where it can be hard to remember how many scoops of protein I’ve had in the day for example..Version: 1.9.1

Minimalistic UI; needs better food databaseThe good: ~ Simple calorie counter with a minimalistic UI. Not bloated with ads or its own social network, & it doesn't bombard you with hastags & acronyms like an ADHD teenager (cough, Noom). ~ Easy to create custom 'plates', which let you log foods you frequently eat with one tap. ~ Seamless integration w/ Apple Health app. ~ Good macronutrient tracker. Must have premium to use it though. ~ Can purchase a lifetime premium account, instead of having to subscribe indefinitely. The bad: ~ AWFUL food database. Difficult to search & many incorrect entries, with no option to flag them for review. The premium search seems much better, but I'm not sure it's worth $15/yr or $30/lifetime. (I very much like this app, but this is the reason I uninstalled). ~ I strongly prefer a target calorie range instead of a single value. I've only seen this on SparkPeople though. Some days I eat too much & others I eat way too little. Also, I find a range much more realistic than a single number. Is anything less than that target good? Is it Price is Right style - get as close to the number without going over? 🤷‍♀️ ~ No diet safeguards on this app. Which might be good people, but could be dangerous for others. Calory recommended I eat ~900 calories/day to lose weight fast. Most medical professionals warn against eating less than 1200 cal/day for women..Version: 1.5.2

Good, not yet great. This is a very nice app. I am a Clinical Nutrition Manager and I love the ease of this app, I do think the database could use a little more tweaking, maybe more connections to usda and other databases if possible, however the ease of entering the macros/micros of a food not found is great. This app has a ton of potential. It connects to the health app, yet I do see any sleep/steps/activity data in the Calory app(would be a nice touch to see fitness). Other than that it’s greAt. I really enjoy Cronometer which is another app that has a ton of food from different databases and if this app could just have a similar database nothing would beat it. To conclude this app is probably going to be amazing soon, it has a ton of potential and it’s not a burden on the wallet by any means. I bought the lifetime subscription because I am invested and believe this will be the perfect calorie tracker soon..Version: 1.15

Simple and EffectiveFinally an app that makes calorie tracking easy, fast and reliable. I have subscribed to them all: my fitness pal, lifesum, meal plate, yazio and I have to say that CALORY beats them all if all you want is an easy way to tack what you eat and a price that is affordable and worth the small investment in your health. Some features I hope to see: 1) basic water tracking. nothing fancy just some icons I can click to add 8oz of water and remind myself to drink it throughout the day. 2) a way from the home screen to swipe into previous days a bit easier. 3) an easier way to get back to home screen when only adding 1 item. the current UX could use be improved on that area. 4) copying meals or items to the next day and sharing meals and items with other CALORY users. Just buy it. You will love it..Version: 1.4

Amazing appThis is by far my favorite calorie tracking app in it's formatting, and I've been using calorie counting apps on and off for ~6 years. I like that I can set it to sync with my Apple Watch or not and that I can disable the red dots. I feel bad when I see that I go over calories even just by 5 calories, so it's awesome that I don't have a red flag telling me I'm over. Quick add and plates are great. My one issue with the app is that it's actually hard to add my food items in grams from their database. I weigh everything and when I scan a food item, it only comes up in volumetric measurements, some foods do have gram measurements but not all. There's not an option for me to enter a food's serving size in adjustable grams. I often don't eat a full scoop of protein powder (29g) so I'll weigh out 10g and it's just a pain to try to log it without me calculating things..Version: 2.0.7

It’s clean and it worksSo many of these apps have so much feature creep and bloat inside of them with hefty reoccurring price tags attached with no other options. Calory is like a ray of light from an abyss of darkness. It’s UI is sleek and clean yet it has plenty of customizability. My only criticism would be to keep adding more food to search up to add to your list of meals eaten, and if possible an option for water intake to be a separate bar next to your calorie intake. I ask for this as I want the macros to be in their own separate category together and water to be more cleanly placed alongside the calories. Otherwise it’s an awesome app, I’ll definitely buying it permanently soon as that luxury seems to be disappearing more and more these days with so many subscription based apps..Version: 1.5.2

Amazing!!I just downloaded this app and I absolutely love it. It’s so easy to use and you don’t have to pay, which is great. I’ve tried so many other apps but I like this one the best since it’s actually working for me. The circle filling up when you add calories is a cool idea, and it really helps you be more aware of what you’re eating. I like how you can see the history of your caloric intake and weight over the months, and the app has a simple but effective feel to it. I hope that in the next update the app will be able to give a predicted date for when you reach your goal weight, if you’re trying to lose/gain weight. It would be immensely helpful to stay motivated and committed knowing that there is a date to look forward to. Other than that, the app is great!.Version: 1.5.2

Very useful!I really like this app. Overall I think it’s set up to be very user friendly. Just a couple things I wish would change: When we do a quick add, I wish “my foods” were in the quick add list rather than having to go to the “my foods” list to add to your days calorie count. I like to be able to see what I’ve added already and be able to add from that screen rather than going back and forth. Also after adding foods from your data base (instead of manually), once added, I’d like to be able to edit the name so it flows with my other foods. Other than those two things, this app has really helped me stay on track and is very well put together. I gave it a 4 just because of my personal preference for some of the lay out. I plan to continue using this app!! Thanks!.Version: 1.15

Absolutely Amazing!I was looking for something a little less crazy than MFP but still with the expansive library of foods and Calory is close! I love the simple yet more customizable aesthetics. Did you know you could move the little balls around? One of the things I would really like to see incorporated is the ability to put in all of the nutritional information when entering manually. I’m trying to track my electrolyte intake and for the barcodes that Calory can’t read or read accurately yet, I would love to put all of those in. Maybe I just didn’t see the way to do it, but I think it would be important to track micros as well. Thank you for all of your brilliant and hard work, I absolutely love what you’re doing!.Version: 1.9.12

LoveIt’s so much easier then other apps, it’s easy to navigate, you can set your own Kcal goal or use the suggested after you create your profile, you can prioritize certain macros. Most apps are so clusters and hard to understand or just has some much unnecessary stuff and much I don’t understand and can be very overwhelming, this app is BEYOND EASY. Only issue is when you use the barcode scanner it doesn’t always get the calories right sometimes they are very high or to low but other then that it’s perfect. Would also like to adjust when my counter resets, I don’t go to bed until 3am and I always like to have a little snack here and there asking as I’m still under calories and I always make sure I do..Version: 1.9.10

Used to Be PerfectI loved this app because it was simple and didn’t force you to go through extra steps like other calorie tracking apps tend to. With the latest update, you now have to choose which meal you want to log calories for, which is an extra step I didn’t need. This was annoying but not a huge deal. Well, as of today the app now freezes whenever I try to log anything at all, so there is no way to use it. They need to undo whatever updates they did and go back to the way it used to be. Edit: Changing my review to 5 stars because the company responded and both issues have been resolved. Thank you!.Version: 2.1.3

Needs the ability to add exerciseThe developer needs to allow us to remove calories from exercise. This is pretty crucial. I love the design of the app and the tracking experience is seamless, but relying on Apple health to track my exercise (as the developer has stated in other comments) is silly. My phone doesn’t accurately read my exercise if I put it down to do strength training or wall sits, so that needs to be manually added? And I don’t have an Apple Watch and don’t plan on getting one—I’m sure a lot of people feel the same. I paid for this app to support it because this is the one thing missing to make this perfect. I’ll be pretty disappointed if they don’t add the one thing everyone in these reviews is basically begging them to add..Version: 2.4.2

Great app, if a bit buggyI’ve been using this app for more than a year and there’s a lot I like about it. The Apple Watch app, widgets, counting of burned calories, and it’s simpler design than all the competitors who plaster their services with ads about fitness and the latest fad diets. For a while my only gripes were the small delay between opening the app and the calories burned syncing, and that the watch app doesn’t function standalone meaning sometimes meals won’t sync to the iPhone. HOWEVER after the last update things have gotten worse. There’s a solid delay anytime you add a meal through the iPhone and the existing calorie burn sync delay is now even longer or just doesn’t sync period. As a paying subscriber please fix these issues I would prefer not to have to get a new calorie counting service,.Version: 1.15

Love the app but the pop ups are obnoxious!I find this app perfect, you can input everything on your own instead of some complicated search system, and the visual tracker of how much I’ve eaten helps me a lot. It’s minimal enough to not be overwhelming but still has all the features I could want! The only reason I took off a star is that for some reason every night there’s a “limited time offer!” for lifetime premium “expiring in __” which the first time made sense, since apps sometimes give newcomers a discount premium rate, but it’s been a few days and the discount somehow still hasn’t expired... I just find that annoying. Be upfront about that being the rate, don’t try to trick me into buying it on the spot because I think the “deal” will disappear when it actually won’t!.Version: 1.6.1

Great food tracking appLove this app! I’ve been using it for a couple weeks and it has a great database, the nutrition label scan is amazing, the barcode scan works well. The visual dots is a nice way to see where you stand for the day and review the week. It seems to sync great with apple fitness to adjust intake for exercise as well. Only upgrade I’d like to see is the ability to break down which foods are the underlying data for the macro tracking (I.e. if you could click on your current sugar consumption and see which foods were the main contributors). Overall very useful and great app. I don’t normally pay for apps but this one was worth it..Version: 2.0.13

Good app, can be great with additional featuresSo far I am enjoying this app. There are a few features that would make it a 5 star. First being able to choose the default meal entry. I want to have it always pop up the foods search, not the calorie amount. Second I would love to remain the meals. As a person who does IF, I don’t technically have breakfast so being able to rename the meals to Meal 1, Meal 2, etc would be amazing. Third, I would love to add time to each meal. Again as a person who does IF, I want to make sure I am sticking to my timeframe so being able to add a time or automatically adding the time I enter (with the ability to edit) would be amazing. Last, would be creating saved meals as entering the same meal every day is annoying..Version: 1.2

So easy and cool!I love this app! I used to use Lifesum and I was so set in my ways until I discovered this app. I found out immediately how wrong I was! This app is amazing! I love how when you add food your circle fills up! I like to think of it as my stomach! I also like the small detail that you can move the little circles around! Another cool feature that I haven’t seen in other calorie tracking apps is the ability to change the color of your app (dark mode included) and the app cover itself on your home screen! That is so so cool!! I also love the pre set foods with the pictures for tracking. I’m looking forward to when I can create a food! But so far everything is great!.Version: 1.3.2

Like the app, have a questionHi, I really love the app. The simplicity of this app makes it amazing to use. It’s the ONLY app that I’ve consistently used for almost a year bc it’s so clean, easy, and accessible. I do have a couple questions/suggestions: 1/ in the recent update, why is the word “other” immediately added to all manual entries? This is annoying since we have to delete it anyways to type in what we actually ate. Just make it empty when manual entry is selected like before the update. 2/ I love the “copy from” function but can you make it so it shows all the items you ate the day before and not break it into “breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner”? This will make it faster to just find what you ate yesterday and then copy it from that day, rather than going into the bins. 3/ for recipe section, is it possible for us to add our own recipes? Rather than what is available online? In the “create recipe” it is still forcing user to add only items already registered in the app. 4/ can you connect WaterMinder into the calory app? I use both and would love some integration. Thank you! Love your apps.Version: 2.0.3

Best tracking app in a long timeThis is probably the best food tracking app I’ve tried in a long time! I paid for the lifetime premium features, and it is worth is. The plates make us easy to quickly add a food I eat daily, the widget and Apple Watch features work really well and allows me to keep track of things that much easier. The visual for total calories is also really helpful. Only thing I wish is that you could track/add more minerals and such for food; like magnesium, potassium, and caffeine. But those are small things that would just be nice but not a deal breaker for me. Overall, this has one of the best lists of vitamins and minerals I’ve seen in a diet tracking app..Version: 1.6

Nearly perfectThis app is amazing (for me). Everyone is different in what they need and their goals. This app is clean, and simple. For me that’s exactly perfect. Actually I wish it was simpler. If there was a way to modify further only screens you need that would make it better. It has everything you need and syncs to my health app and my strong app for weight training. I tried my fitness pal and it was too involved. I can’t stick with so much tracking every single day. This app is great because I just like to put in a number to know where I’m at for the day/week/month, And it’s clean. Paid for the sub and it’s worth it..Version: 2.4.2

Best Calorie trackerThis app lets you track your progress with your calories and macros and you don’t have to use a subscription! I purchased the app and the pro features have been extremely helpful so I can eat what I need based on my goals at the gym, gaining weight, maintaining or losing weight. You can search for food or scan bar codes in the app and register it easily too which is great! I do wish there was an option to track my weight alongside my body fat % and muscle mass % when I go weigh in. It’d be useful to have my Calorie tracking and weight tracking all in one place..Version: 2.1.6

Pretty good but not perfectThe app is good for tracking calories and it’s nice that my data is private but it’s got some annoying quirks. The most annoying is the recent foods used doesn’t seem to sync across devices. The recent list doesn’t always even remember the last foods you logged. For example, I have to look up pumpernickel bread every day for my lunch entry rather than be able to find it under recent foods. Same with other entries like that. That said it IS better than MyFitnessPal solely for privacy of data. Would I have paid the lifetime subscription cost if I knew these things, probably. I give it 4 stars for a good try but has room for improvement, I hope the continue to do that..Version: 1.5.2

So far, so good in V. 1.2 and hoping for many updates and lifetime subscription.Currently doing Clean Keto. With that said, I have used and paid for Carb Manager, Myfitnesspal, and various other weight management apps. Calory has a way to go but have to say was reading the negative and also positive reviews and can see that this developer seems to have the attention and passion to make this the best calorie management tool out there. I am happy to say I’m investing in this young company and app developer. Side note to IOS App Develper(s) Please take some time when considering which direction to go improving the app. With someone that is passionate about Strict Keto lifestyle please learn from other apps (including ones listed above) that focus on diets that include very low carb and Ketogenic Lifestyle. Again, please take the best parts of all the other successful apps and run with it as you have be so successful in doing. I am quite excited to have found Carory and have been very impressed with the many wonderful suggestions from other users and also follow up and quality of responses from the developer. Keep up the great work! Excited to be part of the Calory family!.Version: 1.5.2

Premium is worth itI’ve been using the free version for ages just to easily track calories. I finally upgraded to premium and i am blown away. You know how every other app makes you scan the barcode of food and rely on their database of info and it’s always a little off or completely wrong? Well this app uses the camera to scan the Nutrition Facts label itself and parses the data in real-time. Genius. I can’t believe this isn’t front and center on advertising for premium, because I would have upgraded so long ago. Bought the lifetime subscription! Thanks for this!.Version: 1.11

Great app, Simple Design!I liked using the app alot, its not like other fitness /kcal counting apps that are extremely crowded in design and have too many different options. Some things are kept simple and work best when their simple. This app is that. Nice way to quickly app your kcals and track your weight. Push notifications are nice but they seem to come a few moments after I log my kcals. Only complaint is when you add a significant amount the app freezes (500+). Which is a minor inconvenience. Other than that id recommend it. • • Id like to request different themes for the app if the developers see this. Itd be a nice addition..Version: 1.7.6

Simple and Effective!I have been using this app for four months now, and I have lost nearly 20 pounds! The best thing about this app is the simplicity. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles that other apps have, but that’s what I like about it. It has a clean, visually appealing interface, and it’s so easy to use! It gives you a personalized calorie goal that automatically adjusts with your weight. It’s amazing what you can accomplish with just a little calorie control! There’s no strict diet plan, but it did encourage me to eat a lot more fruits and vegetables since you can eat a ton of them without taking up too many of your daily calories..Version: 1.7.3

Best calorie tracker I’ve foundThis is the only calorie tracker I’ve found that doesn’t shame you, doesn’t have ads, and is easy to use. I’m a big fan. I have some hesitations on the accuracy (I’m unsure where its nutrition numbers are coming from and it seems to undercount some items), but overall if has been a great app to help with my recomp goals. Only con is the “consider burned calories” toggle. It’s really unclear what’s happening when you turn that on, the developer says it reads from Apple Health but I’ve never had that match what Apple Health shows. I just leave it off..Version: 2.4.4

Excellent, affordable, and doesn’t try to do too muchOverall thrilled with this app. I like that they are keeping it simple and are not trying to be everything (exercise app, fitness coach, intermittent fasting tracker, weight log…). Some of the UI around logging, as well as building and editing recipes and foods, is poorly laid out (for example, try to figure out how to edit or remove a custom recipe or food after finding it in the main “cookbook” of recipes, I’ll wait… Give up? You have to go to the settings! for some inexplicable reason). But nonetheless, fantastic work..Version: 2.2

Overall good with a few “huh?” issuesSwitched to Calory from MyFitnessPal, and it’s been a huge improvement. The UI is mostly simple, and the customization is great, especially entering my recipes. That said, it took me awhile to figure out how to document eating a serving of a recipe instead of editing it. This feels especially odd because I started by tapping the icon to add a diary item. Next, it’s helpful that this app also tracks water intake. But ... how is it that adding water to juice is 0% water, and doesn’t count toward the daily water intake total? What about soup or broth? The original study that everyone misquotes regarding 8 cups of water per day clearly states that it’s water *from all sources*. But some periodical dumbed that down to 8 cups per day of just water regardless of other liquids, and that’s what’s been quoted, instead. I bring this up because not counting the water in other beverages and liquids sure sounds like the database assumes water only counts when it’s all by itself and all other sources are irrelevant..Version: 2.1.6

Amazingly awesome UI! Amazing price point!I’m so ready to completely switch from MyFitnessPal, but the one thing that’s holding me back is the ability to be able to see meal entries made for future dates. I see that Calory allows meals to be logged for future dates, but it’s not possible to see that entered data within the app, only in the Health App. I personally plan and like to log meals ahead of time, especially before a work day. I hope that the ability to see exercise calories will be added in the near future. 😎 Other than those things, this is a simple, efficient, and fantastic calorie tracking app!.Version: 1.4.2

Promising but immatureI was drawn to Calory by what seems to be a better privacy policy than most diet apps which seem to be all about advertising and selling your data. The data entry is painful but not much worse than others I have tried. But with a few changes it could be much better. There are no instructions so you have to hunt around to figure stuff out. it is not too hard but not intuitive and there are few shortcuts. This is demotivating. The biggest problem is the database is very focused on commercial processed foods. There is no support for real food short of hand entering each recipe and dividing by the serving size for each ingredient. That would take hours per day. Hopefully they will hire a programmer who cooks..Version: 1.5.2

Love this app!My husband and I have been using this app to track our eating for about 4 months and we love it. We actually liked the free app enough to purchase the extras and it is well worth it. You get more food look ups, you can track your water consumption and there were some other features that unlocked with the subscription. It’s so easy to look up foods and track them, and the app even remind you periodically to track in case you forget. I tried a few other apps before this but they weren’t as intuitive or easy to use. I definitely will keep using this one!.Version: 1.9.1

Simple design, easy to use, but…I love the simplicity of the app and how easy it is to navigate! The custom calorie addition is great! The lifetime purchase is everything, but… I have to address why this is not a full five stars. I really really would appreciate if there was an option to manually enter burned calories. When running on the treadmill I don’t wear any sort of trackers but it tells me how much I have burned and I would love to add that into my burned amount without having to have it synced through apple health and adding it through there. Once this feature is added I will be sure to change my rating to a five star!!!! <3.Version: 1.9.11

Five stars! love this app!Even if you don’t pay for the extra things this app has to offer, it is still great. I think this app is definitely worth the download. I have not used this app for long but I feel like it’s great for me to visualize my calories and I feel more motivated to stick to my daily calories to loose weight. I like the layout of the app. I have been having a hard time with weight and tracking my calories because lose motivation quickly but I think this app can change things for me. I think this is also great for people who need to gain weight as there is an option for those types of people as well. I have many friends who struggle with not eating enough and they are very active athletes. I can see this being great for them as well. Even when the weight is lost you can change the calories to make sure you maintain that certain weight and don’t lose too much. I love this app, I think everyone should give it a try! 👍👍👍.Version: 1.7.6

Food registry severely holds back the appThis app is everything you could ever want in a food tracking app; it has a gorgeous design, everything is simple to add and its customizable. The UI presentation even makes it fun to add calories and stay within target. Unfortunately, the food registry is the one thing holding back the app, and arguably one of the most important things to get right. A subscription is charged for a more "advanced" registry, but unfortunately it just does not have a comparable database as many other popular food tracking apps, making it a pain to track. If you just need to add calories, this app works wonderful. For anything more substantial, it will not be able to pull its weight compared to other apps..Version: 1.7.6

Best calorie counting app and also good for tracking weightHighly recommend. Premium isn’t needed for me to be able to use it and it has everything I want in an app used for its purpose. In my opinion, it’s the best calorie counting app out there.Version: 2.0.14

Very helpful for gaining weightI’ve been trying to gain weight for months to no success. This app makes it far easier to gain weight and turns eating into a bit of a game so it’s more fun!!.Version: 1.11

Need more food options…This app seems really amazing it’s just very difficult to log my food. Maybe it’s because i’m in canada and the brands are different, but it’s hard for me to even log a simple meal. Sadly.Version: 2.0.14

GreatSuper customizable, and you can pay for a lifetime licence. That’s why I chose it. While the database of food is smaller than the big players like myfitnesspal, I just choose something similar. The goal is conscious eating, not perfect calorie tracking. Great app..Version: 2.4.5

The app I neededI wanted an app I could open and quickly type in the calories I’ve eaten. This one is definitely the one!.Version: 2.4.3

Nice clean interfaceLove it after coming from another app where I was served tons of ads and recommendations. The label scanning alone is brilliant. Request if possible that when scanning barcode and nutrition labels that we could use a custom amount instead of the standard (1/2 cup, 55 grams, etc.).Version: 2.4.4

AWESOMEI have the onetime paid version of the app (which i am grateful that it was even an option, what with everything being subscription based now), and i love it. The way you can quickly add calories without having to add other macronutrients or have it be an actual food entry is something that, strangely, most other food logging apps dont have. I also love how the circle thingy with all the calorie balls moves around with the orientation of the phone. Small detail, and unnecessary, but it makes the app all the better.Version: 2.4.1

Great app but missing one feature to subscribeGreat app with the calories visually represented by little spheres! But it is missing the read feature in Apple health for proteins, carbs and fat. When I log a meal from Hellofresh, data with calories and macros (protein, carbs and fat) is sent to Apple health app. But Calory app only reads calories from Apple health but I need to track my macros as well... Would it be possible to add the read feature in Apple health for macros (protein, carbs, fat)? I would definitely subscribe if so..Version: 2.4.2

Great customizations, some suggestionsThe different layout customizations are great. It would be really good if there were also options to show saturated fats and added sugar in the macros (not just total sugar and fats). The daily recommended limit of 22g of sugar is generally only supposed to apply to added sugars not any sugar such as from fruit..Version: 2.2.1

Expensive and doesn’t track some macrosI added fiber as my active macro and I input it manually or thru directory in app and it does not track. Seems like an expensive app and might look elsewhere. Update: glitch seems to have fixed itself after a few resets. I guess app is decent but expensive..Version: 2.3.8

Fantastic! No shame, no tricks, it’s completely utilitarianAll the other calorie counting apps are very patronizing with their names, advertising, and format, but not this one! It’s very body-neutral, with options to lose, maintain, and gain weight, without any of that armchair-psychology nonsense! The last good calorie counting app that I used was a lot like Callory, and it was called MyPlate, but unfortunately since MyPlate recently shut down (RIP) I had to go looking for another. Callory does what MyPlate did and more, all with a clean design and a way to quickly add calories on the go. Long live Callory, I hope that the good utilitarian apps like this one can shoot the top of the charts as they deserve, and as we the calorie counting people deserve..Version: 2.2

Thank you devs/team for the lifetime option 👏Ive been using mfp for close to a decade and refuse to pay for the absolute robbery of their subscription, and after using Calory for 10 mins i switched to their lifetime purchase and never looked back. It is incredibly amazing to see developers and teams in 2023 offering a lifetime single purchase for software. So thank you this app is worth every dollar because it packs a hefty suite of features, a clean ui, and the $ is going to support a fantastic team that built quite honestly, a pretty sleek top-class app. I love the customization options and the fact that the main calory ui bubble moves with the gyro! I just truly appreciate that little extra effort that is put into this app. Lifetime purchase = lifetime user. Ill be recommending this app to every single human that cares about this sort of thing. Bravo devs, well done you did the fitness and health industry proud👏.Version: 2.2

The Best!I’ve used many calorie and nutrition trackers and this one is my favourite by far. I paid for the premium version (worth the price!) and it has everything I need and is quite simple to use. However, the best thing about this app is that it can be set up so that tracking feels very neutral and very much about the data. No giant red “you ate too much!!” numbers..Version: 2.2

Free and does the job!!!!Does what you need it to do for a free app.Version: 2.1.8

Love the app but**edit** Changing my rating because I have discovered barcode scanning is a premium feature. Took off a star because I think barcode scanning should be a main feature. I love how simple and to the point this app is, however I can’t get barcode scanning to work even though it says US and Canada and the function is turned on. I tried selecting contact support but it tells me to add an email address in my settings and I can’t seem to find where to do that either..Version: 2.1.8

Amazing App! Highly recommendUnlike other apps, this one allows you to change layout which makes is amazing in my book. Calorie tracking is easy and fun with it.Version: 2.1.7

The data doesn’t accurately arrive in health appThe data doesn’t accurately arrive in health app and that is my high gripe. I hope they update this app to fix the issue. Would also be nice if it would track alcohol consumption..Version: 2.1.7

Helps you gain weight!!!!This is quite literally the best app I’ve ever used!!! This is the first app I’ve ever found that helps me to gain weight 🤩🤩🤩😁😁😁 too many apps are only focussed on helping you lose weight, which can be very frustrating for people like myself who just want to GAIN WEIGHT!!! I’ve gained 5bs this week alone with this app 🥳🥳🥳🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 Gettt thissss app!! You honestly won’t regret it 🔥🔥🔥 I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! 5 stars isn’t even enough to rate this, I’m in loveeee 😍🤗👏🏾❤️.Version: 2.0.12

TyposThe app is great. I like the way it’s made all around a good app but, I tried to log my supper and I added a 0 at the end on accident. So now instead of a 600cal meal I have a 6000 cal meal logged. Honestly not that big of a deal but annoying that you can’t remove a meal if you add too many calories on accident.Version: 2.0.8

Excelent!Best calorie counter ever!.Version: 2.0.7

Efficient platformMost apps loose focus on the main goal of a weight loss app. Track calories and weight quickly. Calory delivers with simple and efficient recording. Other apps on other resources like meal plans and require tons of clicks add basic updates. If you want to track weight and calories with minimal pain. This is the app..Version: 2.0.6

This is just what I needAn awesome simple app that’s just what I need- I don’t need community and articles just simple calculation, this app is so thoughtful that provides some shortcuts (banana easy to add), and I added the widget on Home Screen for easy access. Truly a gem!! Hoping that you can add oats to the shortcuts, I’m sure people would appreciate it as we all know everyone whos into fitness would use them. Thanks for such an amazing app:))).Version: 1.11

No Burned Calories :(Great App! I love it except for one thing: no matter how many times i reset my privacy settings to allow Calory to access my health app, it will not connect. What do i do?.Version: 1.15

Fantastic App!I really like it because it has Tim Hortons, Jack Astors, Pizza Hut etc menu pre loaded. All you need to do is search the restaurant and the menu shows up. I like that I can create a button for my own meals. I like that it’s not a social media app. I just want to log my food and calorie intake as well as what nutrients I’m consuming. I don’t need anyone’s motivation or pep talk. This does just that. Syncs beautifully with my iPhone and Apple Watch. Being able to log food on my watch is great. All around it’s a FANTASTIC App. Worth every Penny!!!.Version: 1.9.11

Still trying to figure it outIt seems like a pretty decent app, but it’s not as intuitive as it could be and without a mini legend or instruction manual, I’m a bit confused. The difference between plates and my foods, for instance. Also, how to create and add your own stuff and bypass the limitations of units (ie use “handful” or “1/4 cup” instead of 1 cup, etc). It also says that there are widgets available but I can’t figure it out. And I bought the lifetime app, but it keeps suggesting I subscribe to daily and weekly so I am not clear as to whether or not those are different subscriptions? I love the visual fishbowl. It makes a lot of sense and I think overall I will really like this. I just wish there was a simple overall overview of how each section works..Version: 1.9.14

Very HappyUpdate: 12 June 2021 The app keeps getting better ie. If the food you are searching for manually or via barcode isn’t found you can scan the nutrition label and give it a name. Not a new addition but it is an awesome added feature that is well worth mentioning. Pros: -great support from the developer. I got answers to questions before I had even committed to a subscription. -the help website is quite comprehensive and will likely have an answer to your questions. -very cost effective in comparison to the industry leader? MyFitnessPal. (thousands of searchable recipes). -syncs using iCloud to iPhone, iPad or Mac with one subscription. -detailed macro nutrients so you can see your ongoing daily intake of proteins/sugars/ fat etc. -you set your activity level and the app calculates your daily calories. Ie. If you set your activity level from sedentary to very active; it will suggest a daily calorie intake based on that. There is also a "calories burned" setting. You can turn this on and allow access to the Health app. (not sure how this works) -if you often eat the same meal (breakfast cereal & milk, coffee, cream, sugar etc) you can save this as one of your "plates". Next time you have this same meal; one click adds ALL of the ingredients. Cons: -takes a bit of time to become familiar with it, but in the end, it is worth it. -Canadian food database and barcode scanners are good, but needs improvement and I'm pretty confident that this will improve. In conclusion; you'll need a subscription to access all of the features but I think you'll like it. Recommended..Version: 1.9.11

CalorySimple, easy to use. Very useful..Version: 1.9.6

Worth it to get the lifetime membershipBeen through many calorie tracking apps but this is by far the most stable and fast (also great interface). The only thing that needs to be worked on is bar code scanning for Canada which isnt at its best but i am not going to take away a star because a simple barcode program doesnt work. If you are too lazy to track your calorie input manually then you are too lazy to lose weight. The best part is the integration with health app and how it automatically subtracts the calories from the day you spent walking/standing/activity. These guys got a loyal customer and a fan. Great job team!.Version: 1.7.7

Navigation lackingI like the options to find food, but figuring out where to log water is hard. Logging it as a meal is likely not right.Version: 1.9

En français svpL'application est très bien, mais je trouve très peu d'aliments qu'on retrouve au Québec je dois rentrer moi-même les metadonnées..Version: 1.9

Beautifully designed, but it’s missing one thingThis app is great. Other tracking apps I’ve used don’t allow me to just quickly enter in the calories without having to pick what it is I exactly ate. This app does though and it syncs with my smart nutrition scale and smart scale. I only with there was an option to input calories burned so that it shows my offset..Version: 1.9

Having trouble logging foodsEver since the most recent update I haven’t been able to log any new food and I either have to manual entry or put in old foods I’ve eaten. Hope to see this fixed. Loving the app for far :).Version: 1.9

Pretty good, issue with widgetThe largest widget has one of the little balls floating in the corner lol. Bit of an eye soar. Otherwise it’s good.Version: 1.8.3

BeautifulI love the design and functionality of this app. The Apple Watch support is absolutely fantastic too!.Version: 1.5.2

I like this appHowever it’s a bit glitchy, some fine tuning is required. Delayed reaction when entering info, which causes double entry on quantity input..Version: 1.5.2

Beautiful, easy, no-subscription calorie counterI’m pretty sure this is one of the few (if only) calorie tracking apps that doesn’t make you sign up for an account, pay for a subscription, and all of that other extra stuff that most of them require. It does ask you a bunch of questions when you start (weight, height, birthdate, etc) to calibrate it and a goal weight. The purpose of the goal weight is to give you an idea of how many calories per day someone with your body type should have. If you’re fine with your weight, just put that in and it will just help you to maintain that. Once you’re past that, the main interface is beautiful and intuitive. Your calories are visualized as little balls in a larger ball and they increasingly add more balls whenever you log calories. It shows you how many you’ve consumed so far and how many calories you have left so that you can meet your daily intake amount. It’s pretty easy to log your foods as you go along. Just press the + sign, toggle the meal (breakfast/lunch/dinner/snacks/other), add the amount of calories, and submit it. You can create custom entries you can name and enter the calories as well as the macros (protein/fats/carbs). You can also use their search which I haven’t used so much but seems to cover many of the more commons foods/drinks etc. This is a great calorie app and like I said, the lack of all the other nonsense that seems to be required for most other tracking apps is its best feature. You don’t have to try to lose weight or do anything, you are allowed to simply track your calories if you want. No subscriptions, no life-gurus/coaches, no custom diet plans. Its everything I wanted, with none of that other crap.Version: 1.1.1
