Easy to use across iPhone, iPad & Mac, well-designedThis is the closest I've come to a notes/to-do/journaling app that works the way I'd hope. I've tried Moleskine Journey, Google Docs, and many others too briefly to remember the names, and this one works the best in terms of simplicity, sycning across devices, and pleasant UX. To-do lists are very easy, the minimal design is very appreciated, and the options for customization are just the right amount. The auto-updating of the app icon color and font to match customized settings is really nice on the iPhone and iPad. I wish I could figure out how to do this on the Mac app, if it's an option there, too. I've really enjoyed this and it does a good job of bypassing a complicated new-user orientation or accumulating note clutter, the two biggest pitfalls I've experienced with similar apps. So simple and easy to use it is now my number one note app.I am one of those crazy digital dorks who tries everything. And I mean, everything. Sometimes just for fun. The world of note-taking is crazy right now. New ones are popping up what feels like every day. And this dork is tired and wanted to find a note-taking app and be done. And I did. Finally. I have every notes app you can imagine on my mac and don't get me wrong, there are some powerful and unique apps out there, but when it came down to it and I looked at how I was actually working, I saw that the majority of the "notes" I create get to a point where they graduate and are used somewhere else after I was done. A natural progression in my workflow. Emails, blog posts, presentations, or even jotting down ideas that I wanted to get down, so I didn't forget them. But even with the spontaneous ideas, they would end up somewhere else entirely in my workflow, like Miro, ClickUp, or Things. In the end, as I mentioned, I found my note-taking app. Finally. The app’s great.It has organization for all of your work, a nice hud so you can write uninterrupted, and even a way to publish your work to the web instantaneously. What’s not to love? On a serious level, though, this app is perfect for anybody looking for a good notepad software, something that tops even Docs, in my personal opinion. If you are somebody like me who gets into the writer vibe after only a few moments at the keyboard, this is the app for you. AMAZING APP!This app is great for note taking and is very cool. There are a few things I would change. First I would get rid of premium and replace it with cool things like the purchases in the game Blackbox. For instance in that game you can buy a $3 coffee for the devs and get a cool icon or get fun irl merch. I have never been a fan of apps with premium but there isn’t much that isn’t accessible. So far only the export as pdf or html features are inaccessible and the others are normal. The other directionI’ve tried a bunch of other writing apps, and I really appreciate how the design of Minimal just goes in the other direction of most of the other apps. It’s lovely to write in, and the markdown in the display is very subtle. I like writing in markdown and reading without the markings. Minimal does an elegant job at that. While Minimal has a good set of features, it doesn’t have a million of them. It’s really easy to “put pen to paper” and start writing. The other direction I mentioned - I love love love how notes disappear if they aren’t in use. I don’t need bi directional links for everything I write. Simply amazing!!!As someone who needs organization to function, I don’t know how I’ve never found this app before. The design is simple to navigate but complex enough to accommodate multiple uses. Love it, needs one simple fixLove this app! So easy to create content that stays in a readable, spacious space. Folks at minimal - PLEASE create a way to tab over in a note. We should be able to write underneath other writing and make it apparent that this content refers to the original line. Right now, we can only make bulleted lists in the same column as the rest of our writing. This, for me, defeats the purpose of creating a bulleted list within a note. Nice app!I just started using this app on my iPad for writing historical newspaper articles and short stories. The Best Note App for Professional WritersMinimal is hands down the best note app for professional writers. Minimal backs up to both the user device and iCloud which makes it MUCH SAFER in respect to data loss than competitor note apps. Doesn’t workFor a paying app, a lot of basic things does not work - the iCloud syncing is often unavailable, inviting is very difficult and basic editing like nested tabs are not working. Impossible to write if you are a touch typistAfter a certain WPM, the app lags behind, I see 3-4 characters typing after I release my fingers. In addition it tries to auto-correct and guesstimate a lot of things and there is no way to turn that feature off. I had to switch the simple mode with no formatting, otherwise all of these combined with markdown formatting was resulting in the app getting confused and crashing at least once every 10 minutes lolsing the last few sentencest I’ve written at least.
