Fable: Track & Discuss Books Positive Reviews

Love the app!I absolutely adore the app!! One of my favorite things about it is being able to see all of your stats, especially having the ability to see what books you read in what months and the reader summary. Every single time I put a book in the Finished List I find myself looking forward to what my Reader Summary is going to update to say, a few I’ve even laughed out loud too. But I do want to suggest a rereading option on the reading status, that lets me track my progress when I set it to Currently reading as well as keeping it in my Finished List, so that way it shows up however many times I read it on the Finished # of books so far this year. Now this doesn’t need to count towards my reading goal since it’s not a new book, but it would be nice if it appeared as many times as I reread it in that year. Other than that idea I just had (as I am currently rereading a book and went to log it so it would count towards my streak, but realized it took it out of my finished list) it’s a lovely app that I’ve discovered thanks to a friend mentioning it, in which case I’ve now actually started recommending it to other people and would 10/10 recommend it to you!!.Version: 194

As an avid readerAs an avid reader who has been on Goodreads for 10+ years, I was really excited about Fable. It is beautiful and a gorgeous app overall however it has a few major pitfalls that are ultimately making me go back to Goodreads (and trust me I KNOW Goodreads isn’t the ideal app and has many issues). 1. Fable does not show when a friend has finished a book. Is this a setting that I’m missing? I can see anytime my friends add to “want to read” or “did not finish” but I can’t see when they’ve added to “read?” 2. When viewing a book’s page I cannot see that a friend has reviewed or even read the book. These two points are very basic things that Goodreads accomplishes quite well. It is the whole point (to me) of a social media app for reading. I want to easily see what a friend is currently reading and when they’ve finished it and what they thought of it. If I’m checking out a new book I would love to know if it’s on a friends “want to read” or “read” list so I can chat about it with them afterwards or let them know I loved it and they should read it asap. 3. Fable glitches for me just as much as Goodreads does. I’ve had to close and restart the app many times specifically when I’m using the explore page. 4. I don’t like the design of seeing all the books in someone’s list when they’ve just added 1 book to it. Goodreads makes every update a singular focus on the 1 book and I prefer this..Version: 195.1

ImmersiveI finished reading this book a few days ago, and I am still thinking about the world and the characters. The symbolism is tastefully done, couched in a multi generational family saga. My father is from Kerala, and my mother is from Tamil Nadu, So the italicized words were all my familiar, familial languages. I found the details in the story to be consistent with the oral history that I have gotten about my own family, and the author has managed to still keep the core of the story universal, probably contributing to its wide appeal. This is also a story about the history of medicine, and those details are also skillfully woven into the fabric of the narrative. My attention and schedule are both challenged with reading for any length of time, and the fact that I finished a 700+ page book a in a good clip speaks to the readability and intelligence of the narrative. If you choose to read this book, be prepared to flow with the story, as if you are floating down a stream observing and thinking about everything that floats past you..Version: 177.1

A favorite appI’m picky with all of my social media. I don’t really want to doomscroll (bc I rather read lol) and I want my time online to be worth it. And this app is worth my time-and yours. I love the app itself (I believe it has a very seamless design and I haven’t experienced any issues myself, and I like that it’s easy to navigate and has many features). It exciting watching myself almost reach my reading challenge, and to get to gush about books with people who get it! I haven’t joined a book club just yet (I’m a mood reader so I jump from book to book, but I want to try a club sometime soon). It’s so cool that it’s even an option to have book clubs!! It’s honestly the best reading social media app and reading tracker app I’ve ever used. There’s no pressure on people’s popularity on the app or if you’re getting enough interaction. People are just vibing and enjoying themselves there. I highly recommend!!.Version: 159

Really liking it, needs a few changesThis app is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. It feels the way I wish Goodreads would be if Goodreads wasn’t so outdated. I love how interactive it is, I love the stats and how the buddy reading clubs are set up. What I don’t love is some of the limitations. There is a character limit on reviews which is quite low IMO. Also, I haven’t found a way to update reading days so if you don’t go into the app and click that you have read, you can’t fix that. It’s also a bit confusing on how to click to update progress. For example if I click on the book cover I get a different menu than if I clicked on the three dots to the right of the book. And I have to be on a certain page to update my progress…it’s just confusing and a little inconsistent. I also really really hate how none of my reading dates from Goodreads transferred. My books transferred but not the dates I started them and completed them which is so infuriating. It’s a good app and I’ll keep using it…still on the search for that perfect book app though…not sure it exists :/.Version: 174

Love the idea but….I love the idea of this! And I was excited for this app! But when I was searching up books like, a court of thorn and roses series by Sarah j. Maas, blood and ash series from Sarah j. Maas and along with Jennifer l. Armentrout., crescent city series from Sarah j. Maas. Thorn of glass series from Sarah j. Maas. Flesh and fire series from Jennifer l. Armentrout. If we could some how add this to the app that would be great. Or have a way of adding on book that have not been added or new books coming out! I again can’t tell you how much I love the idea of this app. FINALLY I’m not alone reading. There’s people out there that I can connect with who reads the same books as me. But the only thing is that the books I love and cherish is not on the app. Therefore I can’t discuss it with others and share my excitement and opinions on these amazing books! I want to be able to read these books with someone who is just as interested as I am and shares the same love for them as I do. But for that to begin the book needs to be on the app. Thank you for your time and patience..Version: 101

Best book appFable is hands down the best bookish app out there! It combines everything a reader could want in one place: a space for reviews, tracking your book lists, and interacting with a vibrant community of fellow book lovers. Whether you’re looking for a community, a book club, or even just to compare reading metrics and streaks with others, Fable has it all. They’ve recently added spice level and trope tags to books, which is a game-changer for those of us who like to know exactly what we’re diving into. My only issue is that the book search feature can be a bit buggy at times, and when new editions or covers are released, multiple entries for the same book pop up instead of consolidating the updates into one. But even with that minor flaw, Fable continues to be my go-to app for everything book-related!.Version: 190

Love it but could use a couple enhancementsI absolutely love this app! It’s very handy for keeping your reading lists straight, and I love that the club feature means that you don’t all have to read at the same rate or find a night when everyone is available to discuss the book. The only reasons I didn’t give 5 stars is because I think that the ability to create collaborative booklists (maybe as a part of the clubs feature) is sorely needed. It would also be really handy to be able to export your lists as an excel/google sheet to send to people who want to know what to get you for a gift, or to be able to enter into a random number generator to choose your/your club’s next read. Also those of us with big TBR lists would benefit from filter and search options within lists. All in all though, I think this app is great, and it’s really helped me keep up with my reading habit since I started using it!.Version: 195.1

TrackingThere are two things I enjoy about the app more than GR. The reading challenge being more graphs and charts and very visual. But also that I can track my progress by inputting the number of pages of the book edition that I’m ready. I stopped tracking my pages on GR because of that. However, sometimes I read late - to the point where I’m falling asleep reading and there should be a grace period to select that you read the day before. As someone who enjoys tracking and checking things off, it feels chore-y to have to make sure I go into the app daily. The two negatives, and I’m probably on my own is that it’s a bit too social for me. There should be an option to have a less social newsfeed. See updates of friends and people you’re following but that’s it. Also, the TV show tracking is lacking. It should be more automated based on episodes and what’s currently airing. I use another app for TV shows and it would’ve been nice to just consolidate here..Version: 180

Favorite Social Media AppI absolutely love the style and function of this app. It’s great if you just want to track what you’re reading or build a TBR. It’s great for finding book clubs to find people who are reading the same things as you, or if you want exposure to genres you wouldn’t normally pick up on your own. It’s great for connecting with other readers. I joined in January of this year and the app has grown rapidly since I’ve joined. It’s quickly become my favorite social media app, particularly because there’s little to no negativity. People generally mind their own and don’t react to things that they dont care for or identify with. It’s just an incredibly positive interactive experience. Only negative thing I can say about it is that some days I spend more time scrolling than reading - it’s definitely addictive and my TBR has GROWN! 😂 Love it!.Version: 181

Goodreads’ cooler sisterI’ve been really enjoying this app! The design is beautiful, I love the charts and the book club/tv club features, and even though I’m an AI-hater, I enjoy the feature that chooses and presents a random book from my expansive TBR, as well as the one that helps you find a book based on your vague descriptions. It’s amazing to be able to give half stars, and I really like the emoji descriptions too. Unfortunately it can be a little clunky - I find the process of updating your progress to be a bit confusing (I want there to be an option on the book page and keep going there lol) and I find it frustrating to have to find the number of total pages rather than it autofilling. I wish you could leave reviews or updates for specific seasons of TV. Otherwise I’m very happy with the app and have been recommending it to all my friends and family! A lovely alternative to goodreads..Version: 181

If you love tracking and book clubs this app is for you!I absolutely love this app. It’s still is working on features I wish it had like .25 rating but it is great about reminding me to read every day and has a widget I can put on my phone to keep me on track. I also love the book club features and it’s so much fun to chat every chapter about a book with my busy life. The other feature I love about this app is that reviews for your TBR are shown on your feed and it’s really a cute book community, like a Twitter for books. I love that you can post what you read every month on different social media platforms using fable there’s just so much to love about a wholesome book community app and more updates keep coming and I love the vibes. Would recommend!.Version: 185

Mostly good!I’ve been using goodreads for such a long time that I’ve been reluctant to switch. Fable made it easy to import my goodreads data, so thank you for that! Unfortunately, a few features I’ve gotten very attached to are not there (or I haven’t found them yet). 1) searching w the camera so you don’t have to type everything out or look for the correct editions. 2) having different editions listed under the same title so you don’t have to scroll through pages of different titles that are really the same. Because of the edition nonsense I list several thousand pages of progress on a series that had been entered in goodreads as one book and fable thinks I’m reading the first one only. 3) updating progress is a mess! I like to keep track of where I am and fable just wants to know if I read. 4) please make a dark mode! 5) it’s really cute and I love the book club feature..Version: 193

Interesting but could use some modificationsI am interested with the concept of this app. I will be interested to see how well the book club feature works. I wish you could save book clubs with out immediately joining that way you can wait to join until you already have the book or aren’t trying to join after it’s already started. I also wish I could customize my lists. There’s no way to sort or reorganize them which I find a little frustrating. However I love the design compared the goodreads and I am interested to see how this app develops. Update: after using for a few more days I’m finding out that I can’t seem to edit or delete posts. It seems like a bug because I try to tap on the three dots on the right hand side and nothing happens. It seems odd that I can’t edit or delete posts so I would like to see this in an update..Version: 145

Best app everI would honestly love to work for Fable once I turn like 16. Or now even. This app is so good,1000% better than Goodreads. I just need a kindle. This app has so much positivity and I feel safe and comfortable sharing my thoughts and opinions on books. One thing is,I just wish you could go back to months of any year and update your reading streak rather than just a few months. I hope they do allow it soon because I really want to put in the days I read. The community is so supportive and helpful, plus this helps me stay away from scrolling on social media and wanting to read more. People really need to use this app way more, it’s so good. Also, please update the AI it sometimes won’t give recommendations and it’ll repeat some books..Version: 189

Almost perfectIve been trying to find an app to replace Goodreads and this one is a strong competitor. It’s so much brighter and fresher feeling. It also has a lot more to offer with book clubs and being able to track tv shows. The only thing that keeps me from completely switching over is that it doesn’t let you add multiple read dates. I read some books every year (like I’ve read the hunger games series every November for the last 5 years) and I want to be able to track those dates. Unless I’m doing it wrong you currently have to remove the previous reading sessions dates and enter new ones. Which is a little sad for me. But I know some people don’t care as much about the reading dates (I used to be one of those people lol), so if that’s you I would definitely give this app a try..Version: 178

Insanely good customer service.Me and my partner use fable to line up our reading list together, and we’re reading Vampire Science, a Eighth Doctor Adventure out of print book from 1997. This book never had an ebook, so Fable couldn’t automatically detect the chapters to make us milestones. I was looking at how to add my own chapter milestones and set it up arbitrarily, and while I was doing that, fable PROACTIVELY REACHED OUT TO ME and asked me to send them a picture of the table of contents so they could add them for us. This was at like 9:30pm, well past business hours, so I was like “this is so cool, probably tomorrow during business hours, we’ll have it fixed” and MINUTES later, they emailed back and asked me to refresh the app to have the chapters set up properly. Let’s recap: at 9:30pm, they proactively reached out to me, to fix the issue I was having, faster than I could even search the help system to find out if I could fix it myself. Phenomenal. The only minus I have is that I can’t pick Manga Series as our book, just individual volumes, and that’s a whole lot of work, if I were gonna have a One Piece book club or something..Version: 159

Optimize Currently Reading updatesI’m loving Fable more and more. My only feedback at this point is ease in updating current reads. I wish I don’t have to click several things in different places to update my book, add it on a shelf, and share a quote/thoughts. When we add books to our currently reading folder and mark it as finished, it makes sense that the dates read are triggered by this versus having to do it before we review. Depending on the length of the book and life, we might be reading that book for a while and forget when we started it. I know there’s a “I can’t remember” option, but I do want it logged hence using an app like this. === wouldn’t it make sense when we post a status or a quote that our current books would show up on the window by default v searching for it?.Version: 190

The new standard. Seriously fantastic!I don’t normally write reviews but this felt like the best way to say thanks for the app and the amazing customer service that’s come with it. I’ve reached out to the Fable team now twice, once for a small feature suggestion and the other to report a troll. Both times someone from the team got back to me quickly, and they actually implemented the feature I requested! Seriously appreciated, and of course overall just a wonderful app for the bookish among us. As others have said, even if you’re weary of another social app, give this one a try. No doomscrolling and the people (the ones who use it and the ones who created it) are really nice..Version: 162

After Using the AppSocial Platform 5⭐️ Getting a book added 2⭐️ you have to send in a form which doesn’t get the book added so then you have to send an email. If you just skip the form and send the email, they take the time to send you an email telling you to fill out the form. Then you fill out the form and after 3 days, still no book so you have to send an email again Syncing Goodreads: 1⭐️ all kinds of glitches including but not limited to read dates disappearing, book found read off, lists incomplete. And then you go back in and edit all the stuff that got screwed up and next download all screwed up again. I stopped using the sync function completely Reading Dates: 2⭐️ so they recently added a prompt where you can add reading dates but you have to manually enter them even though you tell the app when you start a book and when you finish it. So if you’re not journaling your reading, how are you supposed to remember when you started the read. This app is not new. They need to work through their bugs to make a better experience. I think the high ratings are for the social aspect and the amazing community of users. Functionality is a whole different can of worms..Version: 185

Social media for readersWhat goodreads could’ve been if it had updates at all in the last decade! I really like seeing posts from other readers and the ability to share and react. Everything from users new bookcases to favorite quotes and reading with furry friends. The reading stats is a really fun feature and the app overall encourages wholesome engagement and more time spent reading. I think some cool improvements would be giving readers who aren’t buying books in the app the ability to share quotes. It would also be great if the filters included an option to sort by date read; while the app does let you import books from goodreads it jumbles them all together so my list has books I read years ago all the way at the top..Version: 166.1

Love!•I use 3 different apps to track my reading, since each app has its own benefits, but as of oct 20, 2024 fable has just gotten better and better! • i personally LOVE the amount of tags you now have and was beyond thrilled to notice that you can now have X.25, X.5, and X.75 ratings as that is one of my favorite features of storygraph! i do miss the old emojis tho haha • edit to add : i will say the books are a little limited, especially with manga, however that's why i use multiple. PLUS fable allows you to ready classics for free so if your required to read classics for a class or what may have you there a decent bet that fable will have it!.Version: 192.1

Goodreads import issuesI want to love this app more than Goodreads, and I think I will, but the Goodreads import suffers greatly. I’ll have to go back and physically copy each review because as soon as you insert an emoji in your review, the copy transfer stops. So most of my reviews are only partial. Somehow it registered when I wanted to give half ratings even though Goodreads doesn’t allow that but in my reviews I always put a more accurate rating.. and fable picked that up somehow but can’t process emoji use in the review?? I’ve deleted and updated and re-transferred multiple times but it’s just a big they haven’t been able to fix yet. Other than that, it looks to be a great app moving forward, and it’s super cute.Version: 191.1

BooksThe book community here is so refreshing and fun. Being able to interact with others, read reviews. Find new books to read. It’s such a fun app. I love that it connects to my good reads too, I came from good reads and I still use it to track my books. However Fable just has more of a community and it’s much more easier to interact. Plus no glitches here! I recommend this platform to all my reader friends who don’t have it. (Yes that includes making my husbands 64 year old grandma join.) love you fable!! And love you more for letting us upload pics! It’s so fun seeing other readers share books. Or seeing them reading beautiful places..Version: 168

Instagram but for books, not brain rotWow. I was recommend this app by a friend from a book club. It is phenomenal. The layout itself is sort of like an Instagram but for books. Different tabs to share and recommend books, you can upload posts about books and join discussion rooms and book clubs. The interface is so user friendly and fun to use. It lets you organize your books into so many different categories and is seamless to rate and review books as well as put details like when you read them and if you finished. Thank you for the great app!.Version: 181

Great app! This app is amazing. Such a friendly and user friendly community and experience. Everything works great, except for one bug. This has made me contemplate deleting the app entirely. I am finishing a book series on my Kindle and was able to add the 2nd to last book to my “read” list. However, when I attempt to add the last book (The Crown, Kiera Cass) the app simply crashes. This is such a huge problem for me, as it does not happen with other books. Just the book I’m reading. I will not be deleting the app because I know it’s a little petty to do so over one book, but please, please fix this crashing problem! I love the app and hate to knock off a star, but the bug is so annoying!.Version: 146.1

Excellent idea, needs a few tweaksAmazing app concept, but managing and simply being part of large book clubs in the app is inefficient and difficult to have any meaningful conversations. Even the notifications you get about comments that have been made on your comments don’t hyperlink to the comment/responses that elicited the notification in the first place, rather to the broader conversation thread, where you have to then scroll from the bottom all the way up to find your original comment in order to see any comments made in thread to it. This is nearly impossible to do in large or especially active clubs, and deters anyone from continuing the conversation, which is the whole point of being in a book club..Version: 182

My new favorite book app!I stumbled upon Fable through an ad on Instagram. I've been an avid GR user for some time, but seriously hate the interface. Fable fixes the interface issue I have with Good Reads and then some. I love love love the book club feature. I have been connecting with so many book worms!! I also love the option to post quotes, images, etc. to your feed. It is truly a social media platform for book lovers. A few things I'd love to see added/updated: - automatically put the # of pages for a book. I find it cumbersome to have to put in the number of pages in my book to keep track. - the opportunity to see other books by that author.Version: 189

Wish there was a dark mode option for browsingFor us sad folk who don’t have the ability in our settings to switch all of our apps to dark mode, my hope by switching over to fable from Goodreads is that it had a dark mode so if I’m reviewing or browsing books at night my retina aren’t burned, lol! so far I am unable to find such a setting or an article that refers to it other than if you’re reading a book inside the browser😩. Props that you could import all your reviews and lists from Goodreads though as well as give half star ratings. it does take the search feature a little longer though (I’ve noticed) than it does in Goodreads.Version: 189

Good but needs a few tweaksI really like that I could transfer over all my shelves and reviews from Goodreads. Love that there’s a half star option and the graphs. And the Pick for Me option on the Want to Read list is sublime (I usually use a random number page). What I don’t like is that when I alphabetize my lists, it includes A and An in the A section and The in the T section. And some of the other books aren’t alphabetized correctly either (like books that begin with On are after books that start with Once). And also, when I put the list in by last added, I don’t even know what order that is in, because it’s not by last added..Version: 184

Love! But would also like a few changes…I love this app! It feels so much more fun compared to goodreads. I feel like there’s a better community, the aesthetic of the app is wonderful! I wish that searching was easier. A search bar on the Home Screen as well as being able to search for authors or specific books. The results don’t look very nice & can be confusing to navigate. I also wish we could click on an authors name while viewing a book to see that authors other books. Or if a book is in a series that it listed the series it’s in & let you click that to see the rest of the books in the series..Version: 189

Bookish CommunitySo crazy… I was sitting here, a librarian, thinking there should be a digital way to share highlights and annotations as you read with your book club. This app was brought to my attention a few weeks after that thought and I couldn’t be happier!! You can buy the interactive ebook and join a club. The clubs have scheduled so you know which chapters to read when and then you can see what others have noted, you can leave comments, react, and have conversations with other book worms in the club! SO. AMAZING. Hands down—coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time!.Version: 137

I’M OBSESSEDI downloaded this app wanting to find a virtual bookclub to join and boy did i get way more!! not only did i find 7 great bookclubs to join, but i also reignited my love of reading, created my own bookclub, and found community here. the developers are constantly working on new features to add to the app as well as fix bugs. they are open to listening to users and addressing issues more than any bookish or social media app i’ve ever used. i love this app so much i decided to join a program where users aid the developer team in adding new books to the catalog. i love it here!.Version: 171

Not all book are availableSo I love this app, I really do. BUT it really doesn’t matter how good it is because I can’t use it. My book club members vote for this month’s book and everything was fine until I search for the book in the Fable app and I couldn’t find it. It’s just not there! So we can’t discuss the book there obviously. I mean, we’re not changing the book we want to read just because it’s not available in the app, so it’s really annoying and frustrating and sad, because we really liked the app. 😣.Version: 105

Love this platform but….I absolutely LOVE this platform but I wish there was one feature for the club admins. We often read the first in a series and it would be amazing if we could have the ability to have multiple books going in the club at one time so when we finish one we can jump into the next and leave comments. Right now that’s not an option and the feedback is people start reading the second book before others finish the first, so we can’t switch but we still want to leave comments for the second book. Would love to see there be a update like this soon!.Version: 170

One complaintAwesome idea, but I just wish we could modify the notifications. I can have all notifications on for messages in a club, or none. There’s no way, at least that I can find, to modify what kind you get. I want to know when people are chatting in my club, but I don’t want to automatically see messages from chapters I haven’t gotten to yet. It has caused me to see spoilers unintentionally. Also, when I do click on a message from my notifications, it just pulls up that one specific message instead of the whole thread, so you don’t even know what thread they were talking in & you have to go seek it out. The app is a great concept but could definitely use improvements..Version: 107

I like the concept of this app!It took me a second to get familiar with this app but after a couple of weeks of using it, I really like it. I keep coming back to it. It is still slow updating books but not as bad as a few weeks ago. I wish there were more options when using your book club when you are reading from another source than the ebooks from the app. Or maybe I just need to play with it a little bit more. And also, I do wish there were more covers options and books. Sometimes, It is hard to find the editions I am currently reading. Overall, great app!.Version: 194

Great App, still hoping for some more updatesI love using this app for my book club, I have read several books through this app as well. I do have the app on my phone and ipad, so i often switch off on reading via both devices. The downside to that is i have to remember which page my book was on as there is no ability to sync places via wifi/devices. I have had the opportunity to speak with staff of fable about other app requests and it’s been great to see the app further develop and make advancements. I would love the ability to see this app go even further to support readers on multiple devices!.Version: 126

Book Worm Community 📚❤️I have been interested in joining a book club for a while now. Because I don’t have friends that read, I decided to search for an app for book readers. Fable was the first to capture my attention, I went ahead and downloaded it. So many book clubs were available and I was in awe. I was so happy to have found my community. I haven’t had any issues with this app, I found everything with ease. You can sync your goodreads account with the app as well. I’m a satisfied user. No complaints at all..Version: 124

Love it but..I really love the idea of fable. I use Goodreads and recently discovered fable. Everything synced over I love how it runs like an instagram and there’s book clubs you can join. There really seems to be an active community of book lovers BUT I’m always having issues with the app, my shelves are never up-to-date with whatever I update on Goodreads and when I try to update something I get errors. I hope that they will continue working on this app because it has so much potential if I can get it to work..Version: 151

It has promise. This app has a lot of potential and I love that the team is actively working on it. They are clearly invested in building a great app for book lovers and I expect great things in the future. For me, it’s not the app for me yet. I don’t like that my home page is full of updates from people I don’t follow and am not connected with. I can’t search, sort, or filter my lists. I can’t change the cover of my lists. It’s hard to find people you may know to connect with. I also don’t like that it’s pushed to buy the book and read inside of fable. I mostly use the library for books and I use an app to track my progress and keep my reading history. It’s hard to casually mark a book as being read and update progress. I don’t use book clubs but I think it’s a fantastic concept for those that do. I wish the clubs were a feature rather than the focus. Overall, it’s a promising app. I’m sticking with it because it has potential even though it’s not the right book app for me yet..Version: 144

Not original but loved the banter!Powerless is a young adult fantasy novel that hooked me in. While the small font may have extended my typical reading time of a book of this length, the story itself unfolds with an engaging plotline that, although reminiscent of other fantasy tales, manages to carve out its own identity. The character development shines as the protagonists grew on me, finding a lasting place in my heart. I found the narration to be “telling” at times; but mostly, I was able to visualize the events as they happened and feel the emotional ups and downs. Powerless sets the stage for an anticipated next book in the series..Version: 167

CreepyThis is the first horror novel I’ve read this year and I was so enthralled in the story. I had to keep reading to see what happened next. I don’t usually pick horror but I love watching scary movies and wanted to see if a book could make me feel the same way a good horror movie does and I will say it did not disappoint. I was on the edge of my seat heart pounding in certain chapters because I was genuinely scared. Each page gave such a great description you could see the scene watch it play out in your mind. I loved it!.Version: 195.1

The best reading app out thereThis is has everything a reader wants in an app. Everything that we have been telling goodreads to put in and fix fable did that. They have a reading tracker they have one that you can see every day to see how much you read in a month too and I love that. It’s also so cute and not boring like goodreads is. Also you can join club and feel a part of a community and not alone. Or you can make your self your own book club too!.Version: 189

Almost thereReally really wanted this to be the new book app for me because Goodreads is so dated. This has so many good features and I love all the stats, that it’s visually pleasing, but I can’t make the switch… the three things I didn’t like was that I couldn’t remove the watch lists from my profile, I don’t plan on using it and it just looks clunky. The biggest two sticking points is it doesn’t have the reading progress bar and it lost the dates I started my books. Huge bummer because it’s great otherwise but I have to have to book progress!! If it ever gets added to the app, I’ll make the switch..Version: 185

Good features but could use a few more!I love that I can highlight, write notes, and create tabs. A couple features I’d love to see would be a function to search through an entire book and the ability to bookmark multiple pages. Plus, it’d be nice to have more customization options for the reading display, such as offering warmer text and page tones, and altering landscape mode to have only one column of text rather than two..Version: 162

Love the app! Still using other apps in additionI love the community aspect of this app. I love how I can add my books and leave reviews. I just wish I could see or add the dates I read a book. Maybe a way to organize my older reads automatically into folders or at least sort my finished books by dates. I also noticed it’s hard to find some mangas on here. I would just like to ask they add more mangas so I can review and share them with others on the app.Version: 153

Awesome app… butThe concept and layout is awesome. Everything flows very well and it seems to have a positive and engaging community. It tracks your shows and books very well and I dare to say that it may be better than some of the other book tracking apps. However, every time I open the app it ask me to create my preferences again. It acts like I’m opening the app for the first time every time and it makes it a bit of a hassle to use. Once I get through the prompts everything is exactly where it should be but to have to repeatedly do this is rather irksome..Version: 195.1

Great concept, lacks execution. It just doesn’t foster discussion. It’s very much a numbers game with people who join the clubs as far as participation. Almost every club is people quoting their fave line and moving on, hardly responding to each other. I can understand it leaves users a lot of freedom to participate as they wish but for the most part it only contributes the freedom to not contribute. Would prefer a system that requires more from it’s users. Still, 5 stars. App serves its purpose..Version: 115

Books,People,AdventureGreat platform for social book nerds such as myself. Love it!.Version: 202

GreatGreat app, I love the books and tv show option. One thing I don’t like is having to go through adding my birthdate and the genres of books/tv shows I like when I just want to log into my already existing account. The selection picking should be for “new users” only. Otherwise, lovely app..Version: 170

Lots of glitches/tech errorsLots of glitches/tech errors.Version: 202

Import storygraphWas excited to download this when I first heard about it. But as a storygraph user, I was sad to find out they only allow you to import from goodreads. I’m not sure if it’s possible for rights or legal reasons, but it will be amazing to see in the future. Still a great app nonetheless.Version: 202

Great app for book loversI have always been a bit overwhelmed by the amount of adds on other popular reading apps. Making the switch to Fable was the best decision. Reading and book list tracking is easy. The rating system includes how the book made you feel. I also like that you can note potential trigger warnings for other readers. The clubs and chat features give it enough of a social media vibe with a sense of community and not overridden by bots and trolls. Very peaceful, personal and engaging app to support my reading habits. Cannot recommend it enough..Version: 201

Love it!I honestly love this app so much! It helps me track my reading and it’s so cute and aesthetic..Version: 200.1

The ratings is a messNot to be dramatic but the drag to rate thing may send me back to older apps. Like, it doesn’t allow for 5 stars and I don’t always finish books I don’t love. The ai summaries had me deleting storygraph so I am glad that function was removed. Idk if i will last on this app atp. It’s been a day so I will give it time..Version: 200.2

Great App!!Love this app! It’s has great graphics and is a bit more social and easier to manage than Goodreads. I wish it was a bit easier to change dates that you have read and if you have re-read a book. You can do it if you go into settings but there should be a simpler/faster way. It’s free which is awesome! And I love the book clubs. It is a great way to chat with like minded book lovers and compare thoughts on a book. Definitely recommend this app to everyone!.Version: 200.1

Love this series!Freida McFadden has quickly become a favourite! She takes you on turns that make you think you have everything figured out and then … you don’t. Loved all 3 of the housemaid serie!.Version: 200.1

Attention ReadersThis is hands down the best app to keep track of books you read, want to read, etc. love this way more than Goodreads and I love how interactive it is and the clubs you can join..Version: 200.1

The best reading appI’ve been trying to get away from Good reads from ages and I tried so many apps. I searched the App Store for reading tracker, I don’t know how this never came up. I got an ad for it on Instagram one day and I thought it sounded exactly like what I’ve been looking for, I was right. It lets you go down as fast as 1/4 stars, there are book clubs, the UI is SO much cleaner and modern, and it has a much better social aspect. I love the tags as well on books so you get a quick overview of books like ‘smut-free’ for example, and the 2024 wrapped was so much better and more creative than Goodreads’. I’ve become a monthly supporter now to help keep this app afloat and keep growing ❤️.Version: 200.1

10/10This app is amazing, hello???.Version: 200.1

Weird currently reading glitch?I love the app I have always been a Goodreads person but fable is way better to have my reading and books organized my only dilemma is that I have currently read three books since I got the app and finish them before starting a new one. However the current reading list in my profile even right now says one book when I’m not reading anything and when I was reading my one book and recently finished the other it still would say two books. So all in all I love the app but that glitch is super annoying :( but I’m not sure if I should delete the app and redownload it if that will help with it. Any suggestions that would help are appreciated :).Version: 198

Some flaws but still awesome! It would be better if we could edit our streaks calendar (sometimes errors are made) and some books are listed way too many times..Version: 200.1

Good! But Could Be Better…I’ve used the “other” book app for years and it has its issues. I decided to try Fable. I really like it. It’s built more for the readers and less about selling books. The only thing I dislike about Fable is it doesn’t have all the books I’m reading on it. While it does have a form you can submit for what books are missing from their system, it hardly seems to make a difference if you submit the info. They hardly get added. Makes things difficult to get an accurate number of books read. If there was a feature for me to just add the missing books myself I would do it..Version: 200.1

The OG Gossip Girl inspirationThe scandalous lives of Manhattan’s Elite (OG version).Version: 199

You have to switch to Fable!I have used Goodreads for 10+ years, and it did what I thought apps like this were supposed to do; be somewhere that you can catalogue your reads, save future reads, as well as look up reviews for books. It was something for a purpose and that was it. Now that I’ve switched to Fable, I don’t just use it for those features (which are also available), but this app is genuinely somewhere that I want to go, interact with others, join book clubs, and have genuine discussion and interest with others. I enjoy using fable everyday, I love cataloguing my days read, I love the way it’s played out, and I love their suggestion feature. It’s been so fun joining this app and I am so glad that I did!.Version: 197

Would really love the function to add custom books to my listsLove this app for keeping track of what I’m reading/what I’ve read. However, I’ve noticed that some of the books I’ve read are not in the list of books available on the app. I would still like these books to count towards my yearly total, so I would really like a function to add custom books that aren’t already recognized in the app. Edit: Also I would love if the I read today button would either automatically update when you change the percentage of a book read OR if there was a check box to say I read today when I update the progress. I do read often but I always forget to click the box since it’s on a page I rarely go to..Version: 197

Love it!!I love this app I like how you can have lists but I wish when you were adding books to list via searching them up you didn’t have to re-open the search bar minor inconvenience so not much of a bother.Version: 197

Fable>goodreadsSomeone had to say it.Version: 197

Love this appIt’s so easy to use and takes all your informations from Goodreads so no need to restart from scratch or take hours to add it all back. The app is beautiful and colourful. I love how easy it is to connect with others..Version: 197

Make the switch from goodreadsThis is the answer to Letterboxd the book community has been waiting for..Version: 197

Best book app so far!Love love love this app!! Goodreads just wasn’t doing it for me, and Fable has made my reading experience so much better. It’s so easy to make new friends, find recs, and it gives me the motivation to read more! I hope soon they add a “translate” feature to others posts that aren’t in the same app language preference. My explore and home page gets the odd review and posts about the same books I have read, but in a different language and it’s hard to connect and learn about other’s opinions with that language barrier.Version: 196

Home page needs some workI love this app! The reading streak feature, the half-star ratings, and the aesthetic are all awesome. The homepage, however, feels chaotic and messy. It’s strange to scroll from a post by a person I don’t know about books I’m not interested in, to a 2 star review for a book I loved that says “boring to read and finish.” Why would I want to see that? I rated it five stars. More organization would be nice..Version: 196

I love this appI like that you dont need to have followers to still get interactions on posts. its nice talking to peaple abt books/tv shows that previously “i have no one to talk about this with”.Version: 194

The Christmas EpisodeNot much substance in this one but still a cute read..Version: 195.1

Needs better navigation for the authors worksLOVE this app. My only complaint is that when finding a book through the search engine you cannot simply click on the Authors name to bring you to rest of their completed works or to the rest of the series. Once fable fixes that I think they’ve got it all.Version: 195.1

I never write reviews but PLSI love this app. It’s so so much better than good reads. It’s cute and has great recs. Truly just need to features the ability to track series (I need a page where I can see every book in a series!!) and a count on how many reviews a book has (I gots to know if it’s just three people saying a book is a 4star or if it’s thousands!) Such a fantastic app, good reads who??.Version: 194

Almost thereI haven’t played too much with the app but the UI feels fresh and much more engaging compared to Goodreads, which I’ve used for years. One issue, though, is that while Fable could import my Goodreads library, the books didn’t maintain the original order. When I look at “latest added,” it’s not in the same sequence as I expect, which is enough for me to stick to using Goodread..Version: 194

Love this appThis is my fave app for books now. User friendly and so cute! Wish there was a desktop version so I could manage my lists easier and a place to add quotes from fave books!.Version: 193

EASY AND MODERNI like it so far! Very easy to use. Very modern (unlike Goodreads). You can run your own book club or join one. 💖.Version: 193

Love it but…This is such a lovely app the only thing I don’t like is not being able to have books in more than 1 list (finished and currently reading for example). I tend to reread my favourite books and I wish I see all the dates and not just one.Version: 193

Almost perfectThe app is really great, with the trackers, the stats, the clubs and the tv series section. BUT not every book is in their library, you can fill out a form so they can add the missing books, but it takes a while before they are added. It’s a great app for finding people with similar reading taste and keeping tracks of your reading, but 4 of my read books are not in the app, so my stats are off and I have to keep a count in my bio. So the app is ALMOST perfect. I also love that it’s a very colorful platform!.Version: 193

Poppy is the bestSuch a unique story! I loved every second of it. Very rarely do I enjoy the FMC of a romantasy but reading from Poppy’s POV was so much fun. She’s strong and fiesty in all the right ways. And the twists and turns! So good. Onto the second!.Version: 192.1

Love it!Fable is awesome! I love how the reviewing process is streamlined, and having half-stars is a big plus. There are just a few things I wish Fable Had: - Page counts and ISBNs listed for each book would be very helpful - Many books have their tv or movie adaptations as their covers, and I wish this wasn’t the case 😭 - A place where you can see how long it took you to read a specific book/all the times you updated your progress on it I love the social media aspect of the app—especially the ability to share quotes from your favourite books. All in all, I look forward to continuing to use Fable :).Version: 192.1

Fantastic Goodreads Alternative!Love the features Fable brings to the table. The only thing missing - dark mode..Version: 192.1

Better than GoodreadsFinally a well designed and functional alternative to Goodreads :).Version: 191.1

Really liking it more than good reads just 1 suggestionLiking it so far. But wish you had more more tabs for for MOVIES! I’d love to keep track of them as well. All my entertainment in one place!.Version: 192

List of books lackingDoesn’t have all the books I’ve read in their library so I can’t keep track of my read list accurately..Version: 192

Book Display LayoutI really wish you would add different types of book display layout. I’m more of a visual person and I really enjoy displaying my book covers only in a grid view layout. I really like it if you could add different book editions or covers and the option of arranging them book title and series..Version: 191.1

The hospitalOne of the best books i have read in ages. Couldn’t put it down, yet mad at it as I’m reading it, if that makes sense..Version: 191.1

Best app for book lovers!I was using GoodReads for a few months and while I found it useful to track my books and reading, it lacks a lot features on the app. I learned about Fable on TikTok and instantly downloaded because I saw how pretty it was and provided detailed stats on your reading! The fact that you can import your lists and reviews from GoodReads is a game changer. It’s such an easy app to use. I started a book club and love how customizable and thoughtful this app is! I swear Fable was created by a woman! Anyways 5 stars! See ya GoodReads!.Version: 191.1

My fav reading tracker + a questionI used to use Goodreads but this is better in every way. I love the reading stats it gives and is so so aesthetic. A book girlies dream! I do wonder though how you mark books you have read multiple times?.Version: 190
