Love!!! The ONEPAY BANKING APP has been a great experience for me!!! You must have direct deposit of $500 or more to get the full experience of OnePay and you will get 3% cash back on Walmart purchases in the store/online too and cash advancements for emergency funds if needed after you have been with them for some time I think a year or maybe less can’t remember. And huge discount for AT&T cellular service/prepaid not sure as I have a plan with them already and don’t need it but for those who are using prepaid if huge discount as long as OnePay card is the payment method on the service set as autopay. And all of those benefits and all with monthly no fees! Or atm fees as long as you use in network atm or a fee will be charged for out of network atm so be sure that you are using a in network ATM and no fees are charged for any cash you need and savings account with 3.75% to and investment bitcoin/crypto currency in app with auto purchases with round ups or direct purchase too high yield on your purchases too. Hope this review will help people who are looking for an Awesome Banking Experience and many great benefits unlocked with direct deposit of $500 dollars or more. Win Win Win!!!!! Thanks OnePay/Coastal Community Bank! As OnePay is provided by this Bank and they are Awesome Too! And they need recognition and Thanks too! Bank and All Bank Employees as well for their Hard Work and Dedication to provide Onepay the best Banking Experience possible in my opinion out there. PERIOD!🤑❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I’ve used One for years and if you’re used to the ways of an online bank, it’s perfectly functional. Best part is no overdraft fees, which has saved me tons of money over the years when I simply need to move money around constantly. Only 3 times in the past few months did they have issues where I couldn’t use my card or make transactions for a whole day, which is a bit of a big issue but hasn’t happened before. I LOVE that I have separate pockets, I use one for my online spending, one for bills, etc. It helps to keep my spending organized and protected. However I am so annoyed at how the app keeps changing randomly and never for the better. Transferring money between pockets has gotten too complicated with extra steps and clicks. It’s used to be so simple about a year ago. It’s also more complicated now to simply see what’s in all your pockets (aka savings) vs your banking pocket (aka debit). I liked when the ability to check these was an icon button at the bottom of the app for quick clicking, but now you have to go into banking, then click back and forth between debit & savings and scroll down to view all your funds. This should just be the main function of the app to easily view your money/pockets all in one place. The Discover page is basically useless to me and I never use it, so it shouldn’t be one of the only 4 main buttons. I hope the app developers can take some of these notes! Every time they change the app it seems to only get more odd and less user friendly.
I originally opened the ONE account because I deliver for Spark in my spare time and they offered cash out after each successful delivery. I have not had any problems so far. My only two issues are 1) if a charge declines it will send a notification for amount declined but will not say who/what that charge was for. I have some subscriptions I’d like to cancel but it’s hard to catch them with this app. 2) $ off for Walmart purchases are nice but the deals always pop up after I’ve already made a purchase and almost NEVER before. They also don’t last very long at all and they only seem to be available if scanned in store and not on Walmart delivery. I do appreciate the 3% cash back however I believe the limit per year should be higher. They also offer 2-15% cash back on other stores. It’s easy to deposit/ withdraw $ at Walmart or visit any Allpoint ATM for free cash withdrawals. I like the 3.75% APY on savings. My husband also has ONE so it’s easy for us to send/receive funds for whatever reasons. Other great features include creating additional savings account. I have one that I put $ in just to make sure my credit card is auto drafted and paid on time and I have a 2nd one for all my actual $ savings. Let’s go beyond with more features including, overdraft protection, freeze card & round ups. I have not tried credit builder yet but I hope to soon. A few bumps in the road but overall a great experience so far.
I recently started driving with Spark and signed up for OnePay for instant payment deposits. I’ve only been using the app for a few weeks, so I can’t speak to many of the money saving features yet. I do have the round up feature that deposits the change from a purchase into the savings account automatically and I find that really nice. Overall it’s just been smooth and I’ve had zero hassles using the card. Today I got an email to follow OP on their socials, so I popped over to instagram and checked out their profile. The first pinned post features (why do I keep saying that word?!) a new limited edition glitter card that is only available while supplies last. The post was already old so I figured I’d be too late to get one, but I commented anyway. WELL! Awesome Alem (👏🏼) dm’d me back super quickly to get my deets for where to send my new glitter card! This brought the biggest smile to my face so I DM’d to let them know and say thanks for brightening my day. Y’all! Alem so kindly sent me a gift to my OP account as a ‘welcome to the family’ and I’m cryinggg!! 😭 They were so, so sweet to make such a kind gesture, it completely made my day!! Kind people are out there, sprinkling strangers with love to remind to not be so cynical! Biggest shoutout to Alem, you’re a true gem, you made my day SPARKlier ✨ OnePay is lucky to have you!
I went to order some groceries and other items to be delivered from Walmart. As I was about to check out, I seen this. So I applied, seen I could get a $15 credit because I was ordering more than $15 worth of things. I did get the credit, I did apply for the card to get the credit. I also got another credit of $6 right after that because I did forget some stuff and I had to order again. I used my $21 credit to order from DoorDash using the virtual card. I just made this account today so I don’t have the physical card yet. It says you can get $10 if you follow 4 steps and spending at least $20 is one step and then I activated a deal to get another credit from using DoorDash which is also another step (to activate a deal and I chose DoorDash because I always use DoorDash and I needed something from there too). I’m waiting on those credits which should equal $15 also give or take. But I like it so far. I did link my Chime account and I do like that I can transfer back and forth if needed. Some stuff works out for some people and some stuff doesn’t work out for others. I say don’t follow reviews because everything will not be the same for everyone. You won’t know how something works for YOU until YOU try it yourself. I only gave 4 stars because I just opened the account today. I spent too much money ordering things and was actually with my $21 cash back! Almost like getting a couple of the items I ordered for free lol. Update: I did receive my cash back credits. It did take about 2 days but I got them. I got $10 for the setup bonus and another $1 and some change for activating and using the DoorDash deal! Came in handy because I needed that extra money today!

I love my Money cards you can save a lot of money inside of this card other card at Walmart. Have they always take money off of with a aggravated fee, so I always hate that card now the money card always love because you money on it you could do whatever you wanna do with it and I love it love it love it love it love the other cars they stink every time you look up you get money taken off of me if you don’t have one you need to go to Walmart and get cause your money car get more and more and more there they save money for you like crazy. That’s why I will give y’all a review five stars. The one one money card is the best card ever I have in the side of my wall when I say I could go do anything with this cards you were saying money on that cards like it was never tomorrow I love it. I love it. I love it. You get 100. Or you get a lot of money back on that card 15cents back on your money card with no fees at all, it was just keep your money on it would just roll and roll Customer Service will take care of your car. They will not let nobody take a vantage of it if you have a problem with your call customer service.
I would normally give this app 5 stars. It isn't getting that, because of my privacy concerns. You can get money for getting people to sign up with a referral link. The problem is it doesn't give you a link. It wants to sync your contacts. I know a few people who may use this app. I will NOT give it permission to sync my contacts though. I am sick of companies wanting so much info. My contacts are the last straw. I will use this app, but I guess I won't be sending invites. I think it was $125 per referral with a max of 10. It is free money, right? If someone is offering something free. It usually means you are the product or in this case, your friends, family and colleagues. I am not having them send invites to everyone on my list. Plus why do they need my contacts? What happens to the info after that? I doubt they just delete it. Companies love selling and sharing info now days. I wouldn't want someone to share their contacts that I am on with some company. Just seems like an invasion of privacy, especially for those in my contacts who don't give consent. It is a workaround in my opinion.
I just want to start this review off by saying, if you’re thinking of downloading this app and joining them… DO IT. I have never ever had such a great experience with any other fintech/bank app, nor ANY business out there for that fact. The outstanding customer service team this company has, the intuitively created app, overall user experience… All of it is a straight 10/10. They truly care about their customers, and their financial wellbeing as well. My favorite things I can say about this company is that there’s never any fees to your account… No overdraft fees, no maintenance fees, etc. like the other guys, and they’re ALWAYS updating the app, always making new great features. I feel like every month there’s some big breakthrough update on OnePay that adds yet another great and innovative feature or product. Whoever is on this developing team needs an absolute shoutout and a definite raise!!! Thank you again to OnePay for being the best, and I look forward to continuing on from my current 2 years being a customer and being with you guys for the long run!!!!💙
In order for people to see this, I’m giving it five stars- but this is a freaking ZERO STAR review… I was somehow accepted to open an account back in June of this year. Two mo the after opening, the account just gets closed. And no one was willing to explain why. They just say “you can always reapply, but there’s no guarantee you’ll be accepted again”. I have dealt with plenty of customer service/client help departments over the years, and this group has to have the most incompetent set of employees possible. They literally cannot do a single thing to help you, and they don’t even listen to what you say… they just repeat the same gd responses listed in their script folder. It takes every ounce of strength to not yell at them and curse them out for being so f……… stupid and unintelligent… and then they want to patronize you by saying “please accept my apologies for the inconvenience/disturbance this is causing”, like they’re cops relaying news of a relative’s death to you. Do not download this app, do not apply for an account. I have never seen such horrible business practices in my life
Tbh at first I just downloaded it cause I got tired of going up to Walmart everytime i need an insta pay(when you get money from your check early), but then once I got the app and the debit card, it made things so much easier seeing how you could just send your insta pay right to your card in as little as 2 seconds. The over draft option helps a lot too and also, the building credit option helps. To add, I’m guessing this is connected to a real bank seeing how I could connect it to my Robinhood account where as with my cashapp account, I couldn’t. And I’ve never been one to save or even have a saving account but I mean the app would put some of your money in a savings anyway(even tho I’m broke and would need it), it’s really never been a big deal seeing how you could just transfer it right back anyway so I mean I guess that’s whatever. But I definitely recommend this app if imma keep it real, especially if you’re working somewhere where the app is an option to have.
I’ve had this account for a few weeks. I’ve only used it for a few purchases. It takes 5 business days for transfers from other banks to show up. The auto-save feature that rounds up your change from your purchases happens the day after you make the purchase, not automatically when you make the purchase. Every single time I open the app, I have to enter my full email address in addition to my password. I like on Chime app where I just enter my pin to open the app. Entering this app takes a few steps, first I have to tell them I don’t want to enable Face ID log-in, every single time. Then tap “log in”. Then wait for the website to load to enter my full email address and password. There is no remembering my email or my preference to not use Face ID. This is a little annoying especially because I’m accessing the app frequently to see if my transfers have finalized. I did like that I was able to add a digital card to my virtual wallet as soon as I opened the acct. The physical card took 3 weeks to come in the mail. Update: April 2022. Thank you for making logging in more simple! I love this app and service!
This is my first review on the App Store & felt like this was needed. One Finance deserves some more recognition as the UI & Customer Service is very top tier. The UI of the site, app, & design elements used on PDF’s, Logos, Transaction Logos, Debit Card, etc. really caught my attention as it’s designed very minimal & pleasant. The Auto Save pocket is 3% APY & is probably the most i’ve seen on the market. Save is sitting at 1% APY which is the usual norm. Good to have both pockets with different features & the ability to share pockets with others is very cool. Some people can be denied this bank so it is good to share pockets with people for business, family, or bills but peer to peer payments isn’t ideal. Check Deposits & Pay Anyone feature is all that this is missing & think it should be rolled out ASAP & be a high priority. Lastly if there was a way to send money instantly to any bank with Zelle or another friend who banks at One without sharing a pocket would definitely set this bank above 99% & consumers would agree with exactly what I’m saying.
I really love using OnePay it’s one of the best financial apps I’ve used. The design is clean and uncluttered, especially on the home page. I appreciate how all extra features are neatly placed under the “Discover” tab. Please don’t change that it keeps the experience smooth and focused. Another feature I absolutely love is the ability to add money directly from my other bank accounts or Apple Pay that’s super convenient and works flawlessly. However, I’ve noticed two important issues that I hope you can review: 1. Hidden Global Transfer Option After I tested a money transfer to my wife’s mobile money wallet using the Global feature, the option seemed to disappear or become hard to find. That feature is very valuable to me, and I’d love to continue using it without switching to other apps or banks. Please consider bringing it back to the main view or making it easier to access. 2. Automatic Transfer from Savings Without Permission If I initiate a transaction and my debit balance is at zero, OnePay seems to automatically pull from my savings to complete the transaction without asking for my confirmation. While this might seem convenient, it’s risky and removes user control. I strongly believe users should choose whether or not their savings should be used for a debit or payment. This could prevent unintended overdrafts or misuse, especially in case of unauthorized transactions. Giving users full control over how funds move between accounts adds a layer of safety and transparency that modern users expect.
Had to re-visit and rewrite a review after borderline trashing this app. I used it previously(sort of difficult to use at first—higher learning curve) then stopped using for a while after a UI redesign. Now works great—still couldn’t get initial transfer to go through. No biggie. Just have to use 2-5 day transfer. Safer that way anyways. ✨Unique part about this card is the no username/password design which could be useful depending on your lineup.✨ Keep that in mind though and use carefully. It’s attached to your phone number which could serve for or against you. Other than that—robust features—almost too many. Too much under one roof including international bitcoin trading and stock investing. If you’re not into either of those then it’s hard to justify the app size. Furthermore, I’m almost certain there’s other apps that handle those other two better but based on the ✨above it’s excellent.
I'm going to give One 5 stars because of their ability and willingness to quickly implement customer feedback. I love having each bill/merchant assigned its own pocket. It's perfect for fraud protection and to stop possible overdrafts if I'm double charged. The addition of virtual cards for every pocket is awesome. This set to allows me to budget down to the exact penny (a virtual cash envelope system). I adore my credit line. It is now higher than any of my credit card debt. Why is that awesome? As I pay off my credit card debt (woo!) I know I'll have a 0% loan and then 1% every month after (12% APR). That's HALF my credit card interest rates. No worries on the credit card debt. I'm on a debt free journey and my pocket set up with One has eliminated me from making extra swipes just because. I have a "Frivolous" pocket that gets funded after all my bill pockets are filled. What I'd love to see? More automation in the budget. I'd love to say these are my fixed expenses and One do the calculation for each payday contribution. I'd really love a Goals feature. "I need $15,000 by Dec 2023" and One calculate the amount per paycheck and set aside the funds. I'd also love more built in budget features like: how much am I spending on categories (pet, restaurant, automotive) Hopefully those things will come. That would truly make One the only bank, only ap, & only card in my wallet/phone.
I originally used Chime. For a whole year I loved it then they told me because I wasn’t primary on my (married filed joint) tax return they would not take it into my account as if I had no right to our refund. So I closed the account & was terrified I wouldn’t find a better bank but boy was I wrong!! I see the “check deposit” & “pay people” options are pending but I like that y’all have the “share” options so I don’t need to pay my husband or vice versa to share an account. It’s like an optional joint account and we just add money for the other person as needed!! && I love I can create other pockets so if my family adds accounts we can do a full save for a large family vacation no hassles of keeping up with cash to make sure we all contribute. It would be my main bank now but my current job only pays by check so now I have to find a mobile bank that does check deposits instead of direct deposits 🤦🏻♀️ I’ll be checking back though for when y’all do allow mobile check deposits!!
Can we get a regular Daily balance notification??? PLEASE?? Simple things like not making everything that’s a bill as a ‘transfer’. Not even a regular brick and mortar such as pnc or an online bank like simple would call my monthly car bill a “transfer” or a credit payment a “transfer” Then the action of money leaving your account, coming into your account, or being moved within the account look almost the same. After you have a ton of transactions, looking for one precise one might take MUCH longer. Simple things to fix this would be -green: money coming in to you -red: money going out of you -black or grey: money being moved within the pockets (neutral movement of $) Then the contacting customer service used to be that you got a chat box when you hit help. Now it just redirects you to their faq. And If you want to contact their app dev directly like in other apps, when you click it (option appears before looking at reviews), it ALSO redirects you to their faq as well. They should have a different department to receive these inquiries like most other apps do. They should set a bot similar to Chime bank for simple basic chat questions. And have the option to ask for a representative if it’s more complicated. Also have a ‘messages’ for communicating with customer service within the app. Lastly, I received a referral but never got a notification of this money coming into my account... would be nice to know everything that happens in my account. I could go on and on but this is all that comes to mind for now.... I like them but again, bug and aesthetics need a lot of working on.
OnePay – Mobile Banking Negative Reviews and Ratings
I couldn’t even use my card for one thing they advertised on the packet I purchased it in: direct deposit. I needed it for my first job, and because I’m missing a lot of documents and from outside of the country so I struggled to make a bank account, so of course this seemed great. After activating my card, I already had my first problems. It wouldn’t tell me my account number or routing number. I asked customer support where I could find it and they responded saying that I do not have an account number or routing number and that once my card runs out of guns I will have to “throw it away”. It was the most ridiculous thing I ever heard. After doing some painful digging on the internet, I was able to find out how to find my account number and routing number. But then came another problem: direct deposit simply doesn’t work. I use the Rain app to see how much money I’m making off work, and as a test, I attempted so withdraw money early at the expense of the fee. I get a notification saying the transaction failed and “can not be completed with a one card”. I contact customer support again, and of course I can a horrendous answer. They say that I can’t use direct deposit because my account is temporary and that I need to download a different app and go to a certain website that needs identification. I click on the link they offer me, and it takes me to a webpage that asks me to download the very app I used to contact them. Honestly would’ve been easier just to go through the trouble of making a bank account.
So I open this account because it’s like you get $50 if you set up direct deposit and you have $500 in so my friend referred me because he was gonna get $100. I was gonna get $50. I downloaded it on Saturday they put a restriction on my account on Saturday. Tell me it would take 24 to 48 hours didn’t tell me I needed to submit any documents or anything I called Back on Monday ask him as my account restricted because I had put $66 into my account and when I restricted it I had access to my money so it is Monday. I called them and they tell me oh we’re sorry you have to wait 24 to 48 business dayswhich they never said on Saturday and I said oh we sent you an email as well so you can upload a photo ID and the face never did I receive any emails. I had to call back in five times speak to three different supervisors just to get somebody to send me the email before we got off the phone to make sure I received the email submitted the documents and now they’re still telling me I have to wait 24 to 48 hours and I don’t even care about the bonus I just dollars that I put on there so if I were you, I would stay far far away from this company. They have the worst customer service people from the Middle East and all they do is read off nobody provides any sort of customer service or any sort of solution. All they say is oh we understand how you feel it’s been sent to our internal team. Sorry there’s nothing we can do and then I have the audacity to hang on you
When I signed up through Walmart, this seemed like every other points reward program out there and since Walmart is pretty much the only grocery store in my corner of rural America, why not? When I signed up the points didn’t expire because it took forever to accurately points. Then they decided that they would expire after 6 months and goodbye the two years or so of accumulated points which didn’t even come close to $1 despite the tens of thousands of points I supposedly had. The app was pushing me to a outside website to either apply for a credit card or open a bank or but in reading the disclosure information, they aren’t a financial institution, your funds aren’t protected by the FDIC, and even though you’re required to have a direct deposit into the account, you aren’t depositing money into a checking or savings account, you’re making a loan payment on money you loaned yourself at 0% APR to cover the loan to you from them at 28%-48% APR as best as I can tell. Because chatting with agents in the app is an exercise in futility: they don’t answer any question and disconnect from the chat if you press for clarification. I’m deeply concerned that this app is pushing you to open an account with them that the agents are claiming is a regular bank account that their disclosure information says isn’t. Whatever the truth is, think carefully about the amount of control you’re giving them for the few pennies you’ll be getting in return.
Nothing takes up unnecessary space more than a program that does one trick. So I was anxious to get same day pay from spark but I wasn’t invited into the one program. So after doing research I read about one program and I instantly created an account so I can be prepared when it’s available in my region. I didn’t have much choice considering there is no landing page options other than login and sign up. There is no faq page, no help center, no contact us, etc. almost instantly after creating my one account I receive a spark invite with instructions saying use the same login credentials as spark and the link in my email. I didn’t use my spark email for my one account and I used my phone number. So when I pressed the link it automatically integrated to an account I never opened. So I try and resolve the issue by asking customer service to delete my account so that I can go through the link and the integration can be effective. Initially customer service did not fully honor my request because when I tried to create a new account my phone number was still occupied. They then narrated the account is inactive but I can still login for statements. So I requested to delete my data in effort to free up my phone number. So it was done and yet I started getting rejected to create a new account. Customer service explained that at this moment they are unable to reinstate closed accounts and create new accounts for customers. How completely useless.
I have WalMart In Home delivery. Every week when I place my order I see the little box that says if you open a ONE pay account you can get $15 back on your first purchase AT Walmart and more cash back as you use it. Well, if I’m ordering weekly, why not get cash back? I download the app and begin trying to look for fine print. What is the app? Does it affect my credit? What security does it have? How do you get the cash back? NOTHING. There is nothing to describe what it is and how it works and where your cash credit goes and how to access it. Because of my Walmart account, I didn’t have to provide almost any info before it’s saying I have a new account and Congrats!! I just earned $15. I go to place an order and I should have $15 credit, correct? WRONG YOU ARE. I have to open a DEBIT CARD to get this, and wouldn’t you know when I chatted with an associate online it stated I had already applied for one? How? I didn’t consent to open a financial account with them? There was no terms and conditions explained let alone a box to check to state I understood them. Do better Walmart. Every time I have any online theft of a card number, guess where the fraud charges have come from? Walmart. So why would I want to use your financial app when this is how you interact with people? You make false promises, sell the lie, get their information and they waste time and resources to fix YOUR issue.
I made a one pay account an hour ago after seeing in in my Walmart app. They were offing 15$ cash back so I made an account. They don’t allow split payments on the one pay app so I transferred what I needed from my debit card to my one pay account so I could use my 15$ cash back also. The transaction went thru and they took the money out my account, but it’s not showing up at all in my one pay account . Keep in mind I made a 2$ deposit TEN MINUTES before the 94$ deposit. Contacted them THREE different time today and they keep telling em the can’t see it and it’s my debit card banks problem. I contact their support and they are telling me (like I suspected) that is their problem and they have not completed the transaction. I called them back and they kept telling me the same thing “ we cannot see the 94$ transaction” “a team will be looking into it” I have a 5 month old daughter , who hasn’t had formula for three hours. That 94$ was goin towards things for my children I.e formula and diapers etc. one pay is extremely unprofessional and I would not recommend using them. I made an account and in one hour they stole money from me and are giving me millions of excuses as to why it’s not showing up. Better off using other forms of payment that’s are better like Cashapp, Chime , PayPal and Venmo I will be closing my account when they fix this problem and never using their services again
This is the most unstable and horribly put together financial app I’ve ever encountered, for about 2 weeks it wouldn’t let me set up direct deposit, I finally got it set up. I thought all was well, I start getting cash back and saving with round up. I have about 30$ between the two and it’s not automatically transferring to my savings like the 6 DIFFERENT! Customer support agents told me it would, so I have 30$ that I could seriously use right now and can’t even use it because either the automatic transfer is broken or I’m being lied to, this issue would be fixed if I had full control of my accounts and it’s balances by being able to manually transfer the balances to whichever account I choose. My experience with this app is so annoying and bad I’m actually thinking about just ditching that 30$ to leave this horrible app, but now I can’t because it won’t let me link any of my other cards so I can’t transfer the funds they decide to give me access too, I’m constantly getting error codes when I try so they have me trapped. And customer support is just as bad, it’s literally like talking to a brick wall, they’re actual people but it’s like every single one of them copy and paste from a script. I’ve been using this app for maybe 3 weeks now and have had to contact them more than 20 times! And each time it was like they struggled to grasp the issues I was experiencing.
Just dont. I originally downloaded this app for the Spark driver direct deposit option. Their support for fraudulent charges is absolute garbage. I used this account for over a year with no issues depositing thousands of dollars from DoorDash pay and my 9 to 5 job. I was enjoying the credit builder and the ability to pay with my phone at Walmart since they do not use Apple Pay. It all went down hill when I woke up one morning to find $109 removed from my account. The charge was from a hotel that I had stayed at in the past, but had not in weeks. And it was not a reoccurring charge or additional fee being that rooms are paid for upon arrival. When I contacted support, they did a review for less than a day and concluded that I made the transaction in person with my card which I did not. This transaction was made four hours away from my hometown as an in person transaction at nine in the morning. It has been 3+ months and they have not returned my money. They continue to claim the charge as accurate and refused to give me my money back. I have refused to deposit any money, leaving the account negative until they decide to return. What is mine. They think they are being smart by not concluding my last request for them to view once again. They removed my money from the credit builder in order to put towards the negative balance. They did that thinking that I will put more money onto the account to keep the credit builder balance paid. Joke is on them. I don’t care, when it comes to them not taking care of their customer. I will not put a single penny in there until they give me what is mine back..
Changes over the last year or so, especially with the new Walmart deal and complete redesign of the app have many of us extremely nervous that this will become a very basic banking service. Even the pockets are no longer alphabetically sorted. HOW? WHY? A bunch of great features are now gone, and without any new valuable features. Such as: Hopping on the current Top Comment train to share a Rating Review Template: If you came to One looking for a bank that cares about its customers, communicating with them, and fulfilling the expectations they themselves set up, run away, now, and quickly. The One CEO came to this FinTech’s subreddit a few months ago and told us that very little would change, and all the changes would benefit One’s customers. Instead of fulfilling their own expectations, they sold the company to WalMart and dropped the majority of its defining features other than being a basic, virtual bank. For those curious, we lost the ability to: 1. Create new Expense Pockets 2. Create virtual cards for those Pockets 3. Point our Debit Card to any Pocket 4. Modify Recurring Transfers 5. Share Pockets with anyone (Spouse, Children, Roommate, etc) 6. Share our Spend Pocket 7. Lock a pocket against ACH transactions 8. Virtually send payments to anyone 9. “Send a check” (we do not have physical checks) 10. Access our previously existing Credit Line
There was a point in time I would have rated one 5 stars, and actively recommended it to everyone I knew. However, the company was recently purchased by an investment arm of Walmart/their parent company and it has been downhill ever since. They’ve been removing features, lowering interest rates, and making the app far less user friendly. They once offered the ability to divide your expenses into “pockets” with their own account number and an option for a virtual card. You still technically can, but they limit you to something like 3 pockets, and can no longer create separate virtual cards. Overdraft protection used to be a key selling point but has been reduced to a minimal amount. The app recently went through a redesign which broke functionality for a lot of things I did daily/weekly. The company used to be extremely transparent but as of late things change with no notice, and most changes relate to the removal of features. Imagine you have your paycheck set to go to a specific “pocket” and one day they remove that feature and suddenly your payment is delayed, or they remove the pocket and you can’t use the card associated with that pocket to pay a bill anymore so now your bill is late. No longer a company I can recommend, and I will be pulling all funds in the next few weeks in preparation of me closing the account altogether.
I have been using ONE as my primary checking account ever since Simple closed. Yesterday for most of the day, the app and website refused to load for me. I figured there was some sort of technical glitch and didn’t worry too much about it. Then later in the day when it finally did load, it showed my balance as $0 and all of my transactions were gone. I called customer service in a panic and they were completely unhelpful. The rep would not give me a straight answer about what was going on. First they were saying there was something wrong with my account specifically, then it was a systemwide technical glitch, etc. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told there was none available. Thankfully whatever was going on did correct itself and I was able to access my money last night, but this incident completely turned me off ONE and I moved all my money to a different bank. There was also another incident last year where they incorrectly denied an autopay transaction, resulting in my car payment not submitting and my credit score dropping about 80 points. I should have switched at that point. Yesterday was the final straw for me. I understand tech glitches but having my balance show as $0 and the rep being unable to explain it or let me speak with a supervisor was completely unacceptable.
Don't use this bank or this app. It's difficult to reach customer service, they ignore customer feedback, and their transaction download feature has been broken for months and months. Today, we realized that we're done with this bank. We haven't been able to use the app all day- it just keeps crashing. They changed the functionality of the app, the accounts, and the physical cards. More importantly, all the functionality that was the initial selling point of this bank have been removed or changed to the point of being unusable. You can't change which pocket is assigned to your physical card. My husband and I split all our funds into different pockets, to split out gas, restaurants, groceries, etc. Now we'll need to transfer funds from one pocket to another first, which is way more complicated and time consuming than just reassigning the card. All of the change notices have stated that these changes are to help "simplify" the accounts but there has been an outcry from users that these changes are NOT what are wanted. I blame all of this on the sale of the bank to Walmart. They ruin everything and this is no exception. We're switching back to our credit union because after Simple ending and now the ruination of One, we're done. It was swell, One, but the swelling's gone down. Bye.
I signed up using my friends referral link and we were not given our promised referral/sign up bonus on top of that they kept asking me for my identification kept asking me to upload a bank account or link a card until they had pretty much almost every card I have then I invested a little bit of money into the app for savings, checking and credit builder even stock and then when I went to use my card, the other to buy gas and diapers for my child I wasn’t able to complete the purchase because it said that there was a problem with my card. I checked my app show the cashier that I had the funds but then at the top after refreshing it, it said my account was restricted because of unusual and fraudulent activity I’m just an ordinary, American family man just trying to provide for my family and this happened to me before with Venmo, Cash App and spend. None of the customer service representatives are even in this country but yet it’s an American FDIC member it’s more like probably a Somalian daycare fraud offshore account ic member don’t get this app. Don’t even give me your information credit score even was attacked by this app. One Pay needs to watch her back because I’m getting King Donald Trump on them. You’re not welcomed in this country or on my iPhone.
I've heard such great things about One and someone I know uses it and really likes it. I was attracted to it due to the combination of features One has which is hard to find. After thorough research of like services I have found that only One offers multiple pockets (or similar), credit building, overdraft protection, round ups and more. I couldn't find one that has all of these features except for One. I was really looking forward to starting an account and currently have a Wells Fargo account and three credit cards, my credit isn't terrible and yet somehow my application was declined. I'm not sure if it was due to something being reported that I'm not aware of or in some fault in the verification process but it's super frustrating getting a generic email from support telling me they can't tell me why. It makes absolutely no sense. I didn't have this much trouble opening accounts elsewhere, I mean actual banks like Bank of America and Wells Fargo made the application process easy and more personable. I am really torn because I'd still like to open an account and would really like some resolve. I don't want to turn to another service with less features just because of application issues. I wish someone would help me figure out what I can do to get through the application process successfully.
I have been using them for about 5 or 6 months now. The app works well and the processes are pretty seamless. I loaded my card from three different cards because I had a credit card bill to pay next day. Then I got an email saying that my account is under review. I called customer service and they tried to be helpful but couldn’t get me any answers on what was going on or how we could resolve the issue. I offered them proof of everything on my end ( credit card statements, pay Stubbs and recipes. They said that those wouldn’t be necessary and that their internal team was reviewing it and will get back with me shortly. I called two more times to try to speak to a human being that could actually help to resolve the issue but was just told that it was under the internal teams review and they could get back to me within five business days. I was loading the money so that I could a credit card bill the next day. I knew that the money was mine and that I could prove it but obviously they didn’t. I got an email about two hours later saying that my account was being closed. What sense does it make to close my account without even truly doing their due diligence to find out if I was legit or not? And then they have my money tied up for 10 days. None of this would matter, and I would have nothing to say if there was actual foul play on my end, but there wasn’t. And the fact that I offered them evidence of me being legit that they didn’t wanna take makes things way worse. I’ve never felt so mistreated by a company in my life. Please do not allow them control of your money, because they will take it and act like it was theirs to begin with.
Look, One is the next best option to Simple when it comes to recreating a lot of the same functionality Simple had. (Enveloping—or “pockets” as One calls them—and mobile check deposit.) However, the app is AWFUL. Tons of color in the interface that is meaningless. If a “pocket” is low on cash and a debit is made above that amount, that dollar amount WILL NOT be taken from another pocket, or the broader account—even if you have thousands of dollars in the main account. I had a credit card payment due for $12. I didn’t have the full dollar amount in the pocket that was supposed to pull from (my fault). However, I did have thousands of dollars in my “spend” pocket. Instead of pulling from the broader account, the payment defaulted for three months before I realized what had happened. (Simple pulled money from another account if you didn’t have enough in a pocket.) I never received a notification about the debit being rejected for insufficient funds. THIS TANKED MY CREDIT SCORE BY OVER 130 POINTS. This was especially problematic because I am saving for a house down payment and my score is now in the “poor” category when it used to be above 750—which means I could have a super high interest rate for my mortgage. Also, annoyingly, you can’t view your full transaction history in the app. It limits the history to 25 transactions—both debit and credit. JUST SHOW MY TRANSACTIONS. My last mai gripe about this app is that mobile check deposits are limited to $2k max. Why!? What if I sell my car and need to deposit $10k?! This app has awesome potential—especially not that Simple is gone—but it makes my blood boil in its current state.
They suddenly cancelled the account after I have been using for years. They sent email saying account was closed without reason and said account never existed, even though they sent email to me . I have a debit card from them with money accrued over years of having it and they never sent the funds to me and cancelled the visa debit as well. Customer service was useless,I even offered to give her the visa debit card number which she says doesn't exist. Not sure what scam they have going on, but o would recommend not using this app. Then the customer rep instead of helping only kept telling me that I am giving her the wrong phone number and email, when it's the only one I use for all my accounts. I even offered to send her the email from their office. Which makes no sense, how can you say my email doesn't exists, when I'm an offering to forward you the email they sent. Still says that wouldn't verify it either. That makes no sense, of my account never existed, then why do i have a visa debit card from them with money accrued through purchases. Sounds like they call center was outsourced to another country so I'm not sure if they understood me, but its pretty cut and dry. I also hate the fact that there is money on the account that I will never get to use. SCAM alert!
My daughters and I have used Cash App for years. Thousands of dollars transferred between me and my daughters, my Bank and cash app. Instant transfers, no limit. The most convenient way to use a card. My daughter suggested I use Bank one. I’m gonna tell you the best thing I never did was I never had my employee check put in there. Because I’m sure there would’ve been a problem. There is a limit a month on instant transfers $300. $300! As a matter fact, if you go to your transfer and you put in five dollars, it immediately takes it off of that $300 monthly. Whether you use it it not. Bank transfers are supposed to be 2 to 5 days. No sir, it’s eight days. So if I really had to pay my bills, I would be screwed. Eight days.!!! no one does that. They most inconvenient card I’ve ever used. All those little perks that you’re supposed to get cash back and everything else is based on a once a month $300 instant transfer. Once a month. Cash app is anytime, any day, all the time, as much as you want. And then when you call customer service, all they have to say for themselves is I’m sorry. I’m sorry don’t fix the problem. I’m sorry doesn’t fix the fact that this card is the most inconvenient card ever. What a waste of my time and energy creating an account for a card I cannot use.
This service shut my account down suddenly and without notice for what they say is suspicious activity; however they will provide me no further information after many phone calls and chats. There were no transactions on my account that did not involve my bank account or that I was not aware of. They are mailing my money in the form of a check-also an option they did not give me instead of just returning my money back to my originating bank. They keep offering to let me reapply but yet will not free up my personal information still tied to the account they have shut down-my phone number and email. They are seriously suggesting I get a new phone number. That is absolutely laughable!! I did absolutely nothing wrong and yet I am their customer and they are penalizing me. They keep informing me their “internal team” made all these decisions but this internal team has no phone number to contact, no email, and the customer service folks claim they have no access to them either. Just be aware, if you have a problem, this banking platform has no solutions for you. They simply cut you off and offer no real solutions. I’m being forced to click one star for this review but this app deserves zero stars!!!!!
I hate Walmart but unfortunately, it’s the cheapest place to buy luvs diapers. Needless to say, I just started going back to Walmart about a month ago when I ran out diapers from my baby shower. He’s 5 months old, I’m on a fixed income with 3 kids so if I can get cash back by getting the ONE card, I will so I did! I was supposed to get another $10 credit after the $15 credit for making a purchase of $20 or more. Now they refuse to give it to me because the order was placed with a gift card and the remaining balance came off the card that was connected to the ONE app. Now they refuse to give me my $10 credit because I didn’t have direct deposit setup to the ONE card but yet I just got the card and information in the mail TODAY!! I haven’t decided if I was even going to activate that card yet or not or just close that account altogether. It never said I had to have direct deposit set up and pay with the ONE debit card after the direct deposit of $500+ had been deposited to the card in order to get the other $10 bonus. Walmart is beyond ridiculous, especially with this! To With Walmart! I remember why I quit going and paying more for things just to avoid that place! Anyone thinking about getting this card, don’t!
I mobile deposited a check to my account and I’m having to wait longer than I have ever had to wait for a check that is under $1000 to clear. I started a new job and get paid bi weekly so I really needed my first check for my bills gas etc. I called to speak to a representative and ask if there was anything they could do like call my employers bank to verify they have the funds and push the funds through. I have had multiple banks expedite funds to my account especially after calling and explaining my issue. The guy I spoke to said there was absolutely nothing he could do and I explained to him that other banks have done that for me and others before but the response he gave me pretty much was just that he understands my concern and the emotions but there was nothing he could do or would even try to do. When my check does clear I will be closing my account with them and never use them again or ever recommend ONEPAY to anyone especially if you work hard for your money. If there is one thing you don’t do is play with peoples money especially when they are on a strict and tight budget. Highly disappointed by them along with how they handled my phone call and questions and concerns.
I saw an offer to use One Pay when I was checking out my groceries from Walmart online, they claimed to give $15 cash back for an order over $75. I thought it was a good deal because I was already spending the money on groceries. So I tried it, got a confirmation email showing the $15 cash back and I thought, great. Wrong! The $15 showed in my account and that I had earned it but the catch is you can’t check it out unless you open a One Pay account. So I applied for a One Pay checking account, and they denied me. I’ve never been denied for a bank account before so I thought that was strange. Nonetheless, I decided to just move in with my life and not investigate it further. What was weird though is when I requested to have my account deleted along with my personal information the rep told me she would have to escalate it? I received an email from their escalation team where they blatantly told me they were denying my request to delete my account and my information. When I sent a follow email to ask why that was, I never reached a response. Very shady. Seems like they’re in the business of just collecting personal information and selling it. I canceled my cards and reported them as unauthorized to all my banks just in case. Very shady!
I have had this card for about two years now due to my job. I have to unfortunately. I do not use this card for anything except transferring the balance to another card. And yet I have had fraudulent purchases made on 3 different occasions. The first one was $80 at a Walmart in Arkansas at 3am. I live in Florida. The second and third occurrences were a bunch of micro-transactions to Apple. Amounting to $42 and $12. I have provided every proof I can think of and they are of no help. The language barrier doesn’t make it any easier as far as customer support goes. They give you the same lines “We need new information to reopen this dispute”. And do nothing to get your money back. This whole card company tied in with Walmart just screams SCAM. I’ve seen multiple forums in which many people are having this issue. So now I just keep the card “frozen” indefinitely because even with them sending out new cards, it’s clearly in their system that the numbers are being accessed. Otherwise how are these purchases showing up as a debit SWIPE? I’ve never even been to California. Just please beware of this card. I don’t wish these issues on anyone. Being stolen from and your card company just shrugging it off.
What an incredibly misleading way to get customers to sign up, download your app and sign up for an account. Completely disgusted at the lack of ethics involved doing this. To top it off it is impossible to delete my information off your database and to coose my account. I was just placing an order on the Walmart app. I got this offer saying I would get $15 in cashback if I used one pay which was advertised as a digital wallet and the advertising went as far as to say the cash back rewards would be in top of any credit card rewards earned by paying with a credit card and all I had to do was add my card to their digital wallet. Well I do that and later on get an email asking me to download their app to get the cash back I should have earned already. But guess what? Earning the cash back requires having a checking account with them and you obviously need to apply to for which is a pull on your credit, soft one, but a pull nonetheless. What a horrible way to start off with this business. The promo is absolutely not worth dealing with a scammy deceitful company that is not honest or up front. Make it clear what you are expecting before the promo can be awarded.
I had a One account for years before it was ever involved with Walmart. Last year I saw that Walmart had a new credit card product and was excited because I was a + member and could get extra cash back. From the get go the app didn’t work, my card never was linked to my main accounts, I was never able to receive cash back points or see how much I actually had. The app constantly said there was a technical issues and to try again. This lasted until I tried messaging with support my issue and no one seemed to understand the app wasn’t working at all they would explain how to get to my rewards. This was a tipping point, not being able to get the rewards by using the card made the card useless for me. So I paid it off and cancelled it immediately. Still never got any rewards, I even was awarded the $75 in bonus points but was never able to see the total points I had so couldn’t use them or withdrawal them. Very bad experience, in this state I’d never get a Walmart credit card again, the interface is unusable and unstable. 0/10 for this card.
I signed up thru Walmart because there was an offer to get $10 cash back. After signing up, I received several emails saying I had over 1000 points and could get my cash back. So I log into the app and there are no points. I reached out to customer service via the app and after waiting almost 2 hours to speak to a human, I was told they could see multiple accounts for me and then boom the chat ended before I could even reply. And I am sure I didn’t accidentally end the chat because it’s 2 step process. It just suddenly said “chat ended” so I proceed to reach back out via the app because it seems like that’s my only option in the app. And when I do I am told my wait time will be over an hour again! NO THANK YOU! So I head over to google and find their customer service phone number only to wait on hold for 15 minutes and the hold music goes silent. Nobody there. I say hello multiple times. Nothing. I continue to wait thinking maybe it’s a glitch in their phones and someone will be on shortly. Nope! Call ended after radio silence for 5+ minutes. All I’m looking for is the bonus points they swear I should have. Apparently they don’t want to give them up!
Please don’t sign up with this bank to I got my first deposit with them and they closed my account and took the money that was in there. With no explanation! I live in Tampa Florida lost power and went to go get food for me and my disabled son only for the transaction to decline tried to login into the account it wouldn’t allow me to see my balance I couldn’t call at the time because they were closed so I had to do chat they have no explanation why I can’t access my account then I get a email stating my account was closed and the money will not be returned to me. I’m so heartbroken because it was the last I had to get food because I have no power just got hit with hurricane Milton and they just took the money with no explanation. Remind you I just opened this account this is my first deposit it with them it’s from social security and they took! Please don’t sign up with this bank they’ll take your money and when you finally talk to an agent they’ll read off the same email they send you and leave you with nothing! It’s not even BBB credited so you get scammed by them and can’t do nothing about it! Shame on them! PLEASE DONT SIGN UP WITH THIS THIEVING BANK!
I started using OnePay Walmarts banking scheme…. Because they give you 3%back. They offered a referral scheme. That said they would give me $150 if I got a friend to start a cash account and the friend would receive $15. They got all my contact info and there wasn’t a place to properly sign her up….. after talking with customer service for over an hour….. they said I will not be getting my referral bonus because she didn’t complete her application…. While using the website she got 404 codes when she hit the help button the app stops at 67%. So now they have 100 + contact and her social and bday. As if there not selling the info…. Which I figured . I feel scamed…. The promo ends today…. Stay away from OnePay…. There customer service is not in the us. And they have no way to give customer service. They even started saying ….. I said she didn’t have id. But they just didn’t understand English…. I said there was nowhere to upload her id…. Then they insisted… I told them she had no id…. That took 5 minutes to clear up….. long story short….. even though this was pretty long……OnePay has no customer service….
ETA: Do not bank with One. Their app and website were down for almost an entire day (21st Sept.) with zero communication nor any idea of when it would be back up. People could not access their money at all, transactions were declined, and nobody could give an answer as to why. WalMart is gonna WalMart. If the aim was to take away every feature that made this bank/app great, well done. There is no way this went through any type of Beta testing. It’s now completely user-hostile - difficult to navigate, layout makes no sense intuitively, functionality is odd (ex. why is there a move and an add button for transferring money around? the ability to swap is now gone within that so you have perform extra steps), colors are harsh to look at and almost identical to Varo Bank, card assignment has been removed (why??), and you cannot see/access your Credit Builder Pocket unless you are on an actual browser. But hey, you can assign your pocket an emoji, so it’s cool 🙄 I will most likely have to move banks yet again due to these changes. This bank/app used to be the best, this is really disappointing and frustrating.
Update: it has now been almost 2 months and I still haven’t received my money. I submitted a dispute with the company and they emailed me back today to say nothing was wrong and they were closing my dispute. This company has STOLEN almost $200 from me. I’m not giving up. I got this app to link to my Even app so I can get paid faster through work. I transferred almost $200 from Even app to my One account and saw the money instantly. I needed the money in my Chime account so I transferred the almost $200 to Chime. After 5 business days of not receiving my money after being promised 1-3 business days, I reached out and told them to cancel the transfer. I was then told it could take up to a couple days to see the money. It’s now been 4 days since the cancel of the transfer and I STILL don’t have my money. I’ve reached out via chat 3 times and have no better answer than “we go by priority” and “there’s no timeline as to how long this will take, we ask that you be patient”. I’m never using this app/card ever again. I am highly disappointed and will recommend to everyone at work to stay away from this company.
This company has horrible reviews on Trust Pilot. The company provides a horrible experience to protect you from fraud if your card is stolen. I had multiple cards stolen and found out by getting a text from another company. I immediately saw three transactions right in the row from the same place on my account that I never went to. Whats worse is by default your card doesn't work in debit mode for terminals so its super easy for people to commit fraud. I froze my card immediately and filed a dispute through their app chat. Almost 6 weeks later they denied fraud had occurred despite everything. If you want pockets/budgets from Simple look at Apps like Mint or Rocket Money that can work with lots of bank accounts. Look at some of the bigger banks on Plaid who have better fraud protection and avoid this app and company. I am not going to reach back out to support. This company has burned any good it's earned at this point. Its been a crap show speaking to agents who then pass stuff off to a fraud department who you can't speak to you directly and take weeks and provide most vague explanations for why they can't reimburse your stolen funds.
Edit: after the latest update I can’t recommend this bank anymore. Every update adds more and more ads. Your actual money is now literally the top 25% of one out of three tabs in the app. I’ll be looking elsewhere, disappointed that yet another good bank is self-destructing. Thank you for having a browser app that actually saves your 2FA for 30 days like it says it will. Chime requires you to 2FA every single time in the browser no matter what, it’s pathetic. Also, thank you for having a clean, respectful interface, without spamming us with garbage ads for things like “early paycheck”. I actually get my direct deposit early anyway, but that’s a stupid feature that doesn’t actually do anything except trick people into thinking it’s a useful service. The app is amazing, very clean and simple, but with powerful features like being able to put a certain amount of money into a pocket on every direct deposit. This has been amazing for budgeting. I really hope you don’t go out of business like simple bank, they were amazing and I am very happy that I found One as a good replacement.
UPDATE: I saw a review on here claiming that ONE is better than SIMPLE ever was. LET ME TELL YOU THAT IS A LIE AND IS MOST LIKELY A PAID ENDORSEMENT. No one in their right mind, who has actually used both apps would EVER make such a ridiculous statement. This app has miles of improvements before they can be slightly worse than Simple. And then miles more before becoming equal. And only THEN can they begin the journey to be better. No integration with Opurtun (Formerly Digit) No integration with CoPilot (a budgeting app) Customer service will put you on hold just to hang up on you! Not to mention the things listed below from my earlier review. This app had promise but then they broke each and every one over time. Their plan was to lure all of Simples customers but they never planned on delivering on ANY of their promises. Most of the features that made this a great app have been stripped away!! How is downgrading considered an improvement??? Credit Line …. Reduced Choosing which pocket for use with your debit card….. Gone. Auto-Save…. Gone (update: they brought this back, “yay”😒). Seeing all of your pockets and balances on one page…. Gone. WTH??
