WHAT'S BIOFEEDBACK?
Heart Rate Variability (HRV) Biofeedback is a technique that can directly affect physiological and psychological factors through deep breathing exercises and is an ideal strategy to help us self-regulate and better cope with stressful situations

Practically speaking, HRV Biofeedback consists of providing an individual with real-time feedback on instantaneous heart rate and respiration changes while being instructed to breathe at low frequencies

You can learn more about the psychological and physiological benefits of deep breathing and HRV Biofeedback, at HRV4Biofeedback.com

HOW CAN I BENEFIT FROM BIOFEEDBACK?

HRV4Biofeedback App Comments & Reviews

HRV4Biofeedback Positive Reviews

Good app. Could use some improvements.I’ve really benefitted from regular RF breathing and biofeedback using this app. It’s really helped me manage stress much more effectively. I do wish there were a more robust set of external accessories. I often want to practice hands free, so I don’t need to be holding my phone to use the app, and I’m not aware of an external device that both measures your HRV and gives a vibration and quiet sound indicating the breathing intervals..Version: 1.3.5

Useful but can improveLoved hrv4training so tried this also and because the developers are expert in this field. App uses a dark to light screen change that you follow to pace breathing. The dark/light lighting is not markedly different and difficult to follow. Would suggest greater dark/light difference or a bold white line or circle like “ibreathe”. Would also be very useful to have a sound or chime cue so one could close eyes during the practice and still maintain breathing pace. It would be useful to see the HRV numbers that underly the buofeedback score. I think app will become more useful with subsequent iterations and updates..Version: 1.0

Amazing results! This is the single most impactful app I’ve found for getting myself to center and feeling more in the “flow” state in a super short time. Replacing/supplementing my normal meditation time and the impact is amazing. There are a couple of small things I’d change on the app, but the team that makes it is awesome so I’m sure they’ll nail this; I have been using their other app (HRV4Training)and it launches new features and great updates all the time so I’m looking forward to where they go with this..Version: 1.0

Great for what it does, want it to do moreI doubted their claim of HRV and HR accuracy. I have a Polar h10 and I compared measurements and to my surprise HRV4BIOFEEDBACK optical sensor accuracy was the same as Polar! Very impressive. I like how you get the scores and can see the effects on mood and whatnot. Helpful to see trends over time. Major criticism is that the breathing visual is hard to see. They need to do something with more contrast. Only rated 4 stars because there is so much more they could do with the biofeedback exercise rather than just breathing. Guided meditation, sound, etc..Version: 1.3.5

Mostly love it but lots of lost dataLove this app and what it does but data only syncs and saves for me about half the time. Possibly it’s just a hazard of rural internet but disappointing nonetheless.Version: 1.3.5

IncredibleAs a doctor of physical therapy and a biofeedback practitioner for several years using very high end and costly equipment from Thought Technologies/Montreal Canada, the functionality in this app is spot on and exceedingly advanced for the price and simplicity. Would highly recommend pairing it with the Polar strap..Version: 1.0

GamechangerI bought my iPhone SE just to use these apps, and they do not disappoint. Major boost to daily insight into your health, with a reliable way to induce parasympathetic nervous system response and relax into being a healthier person..Version: 1.3.4

Not only for elite athletesAs an active senior, I rarely miss a morning where I don’t use this App. Keeps me honest so that I don’t over train. That morning resting heart rate feature can set the tone for what kind of activity would be best for that day, as well..Version: 1.0.8

A powerful meditation toolI’ve found this tool incredible helpful for dealing with stress and fatigue. My only improvement would be a more subtle way to notify the peak and trough of the breathing cycle..Version: 1.2.7

Update killed it?Maybe HRV4BioFeedback is not working with iOs 16.3? Camera flash turns on, stays on, and no measurements take place at all, screens lock up..Version: 1.3.5

Super valuableI’ve found this app to be incredibly valuable for measuring and managing my life stress..Version: 1.2.4

“Registration Failed [-1001]”Any one else get this? It’s what I got when setting up the app. Registering an email and a password appears to be required. I don’t have a Twitter account, so no contacting dear developer that way. Did send an email to address listed in app. —— Update: Deleted and reinstalled app. That seemed to work..Version: 1.2.3

Works great; feature requests.I’ve used HRV4TRAINING for over a year.Recently, I listened to Marco‘s interview with Dr. Khazan, and decided to try out biofeedback. The app pairs well with Dr. Khazan’s book, and I’ve maintained a breathwork practice via the app for a a few weeks. It took me a few weeks to realize the “Power” graph represented my breathing rate. Consider adding an additional label for the layperson such as myself. I wonder if research shows that the optimal resonant frequency changes after some training, and if so, then the app could suggest retesting for your ideal frequency every two weeks or so. I don’t own an Apple Watch, but have friends that do, and I’d like to recommend the app to them. You mention the watch doesn’t deliver live data, but is live data required? If the watch can store up to 20 minutes of HRV data, then send it to the phone for the app to process, doesn’t that work just as well? Even to find your resonant frequency, the app can change the visual breathing pattern, and match time stamps to sync up the frequencies to HRV. Lastly, is it possible to allow the app to operate in the background? I’m using a consumer EEG with an associated iOS meditation app, and would be very curious to record my breathwork while simultaneously recording my brain waves. Great work, sir. Cheers..Version: 1.2.4

Best meditation / breathing app - check HRVSimple way to do deep breathing . Simple interface with customizable breathing rate and method to check resonant frequency. Tracks streaks and 7day time for motivation / consistency.Version: 1.2.6
