Using an iPhone 7 and it runs great. My only issue is it doesn’t recognize my Bluetooth game pad I originally bought for Minecraft. Hopefully you guys work a bit more on gamepad support I understand it’s a new release I hate using touch controls ! Anyway good work, please I just want to play it with my controller Edit: I tried my game pad again after a few days of playing touchscreen and it works flawlessly. Great game looks beautiful. I don’t have the nostalgia a lot of people do for it I’m 29 and never heard of it, so my review isn’t clouded by nostalgia. Anyway love it thanks for the port I hope you do more

WOW!!! Okay let me start off by saying this is simply incredible!! This game looks better on apple devices than it does on console. There are so many options to choose from to enhance the graphics and frame rate. This game runs at a smooth 60fps but can be lowered if need be. Epic graphics on a phone port of Battle For Bikini Bottom is incredible to me! I’m glad I decided to try this out and I do not regret this purchase. I was afraid it would be a bad port but I am sold. It runs so smooth, and the graphics are absolutely insane and all for only 8.99$. The touch screen controls aren’t too hard to learn but I would recommend a xbox controller to make it easier. There are some issues with the opening cinematic where the voice acting doesn’t match up with the mouths moving BUT that’s okay because the rest of the game is so polished and smooth! Well Done!!!!!!!!! I highly recommend this to any Spongebob fan! It’s nice to relive your childhood in all this mobile glory. Well done job Handy Games! Literally blown out of the water at how well this was done.

Surprisingly, the game runs better on mobile platforms compared to Nintendo Switch. Overall, the whole experience is just as crisp and smooth like the original game that released in 2003. Satisfying platforming physics and combat, nice interactions and great challenge make this a worthwhile experience. If you’re going to go into this game thinking it is a real remake, then you will be left disappointed, since it is really just the old game with an HD paint job. Overall, it is still a very enjoyable experience and I honestly think it is still the best Spongebob game in existence. I do have a few suggestions though, one is having an option for a fixed camera mode and the other is being able to customize button layouts on screen. Overall, fans of platformers and Spongebob should really check this one out.

So this game is the reason I wake up every morning. It’s so much fun! I love playing it with my brother. You have to collect golden spatulas to unlock places, which is so cool! I love it! I love all of the places! BUT… the kelp forest is so hard. It should be easier. Also, the flying Dutchman’s graveyard should be a little easier too! But most importantly, it should not cost 40,000 shiny things to get into the theater. I worked for almost a week to get that many, all for a tiny room with a boring slideshow and all it has on it is pictures of tikis and robots!? Come ON, guys. I thought there would AT LEAST be a golden spatula there, but no. Over all, it’s such a great game, but please fix these problems. Seriously, it’s so much more fun when it’s easier. PLEASE. Thank youuu!!! ❤️

Wow developers! Thank you so much for recreating this beloved game, I’m so glad you guys made it available to play on IOS devices. When I first downloaded the game, nothing but nostalgia poured all over me. I think I’m saying this on behalf of everyone, but this was the first that got me into gaming. The only thing I suggest is making multi-player available for IOS, now that I defeated the whole game! Between the graphics and nostalgic feel, it’s a deservedly 5/5! Since I enjoyed this remodel so much, I definitely want to shed some light on another adored Spongebob game. If you are considering another to remodel, please let it be Lights, Camera, Pants!

This is my first time writing a review on any app, and I’ve had the App Store for 6-7 years! I played this game when I was a kid for hours and missed playing it. I was shocked to find it in the App Store after playing it on my friend’s switch. I bought it right away, plugged in my rotor riot controller and beat this game in 6-8 hours. I don’t remember this game being so easy and short, but then again this game was made for kids. The most difficult part of the game was definitely Spongebob’s Dream. It is satisfying to destroy enemies and collect the shiny objects. The graphics look amazing on Max settings on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. No lag or slowdowns at all. I highly recommend this game for any one reliving their childhood.

I really love this game… even with its plethora of bugs (most which are quite funny 😄). but, the major thing that keeps me from giving this game five stars is the fact that it REQUIRES internet to play—something you wouldn’t expect from a pay-to-download game. i mainly play this on my tv, and — after experiencing a recent internet outage in my area — realized i was unable to play the game AT ALL (it stays stuck in the ‘nickelodeon’ screen). other paid pay-to-download games keep a local save on your device to prevent this from happening… not this one. hopefully, this will be fixed/implemented in a future update.

I bought this game the first day it released on steam. I played it all and loved it. (There was a couple socks I couldn’t find in sand mountain but that’s ok) I then talked about maybe porting the original ps2 version to mobile because I thought the remake would be too demanding but this is so much better then I wanted. There’s only one problem I have with this game. The port itself is fantastic and runs great on my iPhone 11, the problem is it’s an older version of the game. It’s before the patch with mr krabs and being able to replay bosses. If you could please update to the latest patch that would be fantastic and this will be a perfect port! Great job!

You'll get at least like 15 hours of playtime from the game, the graphics look better than anything else on iOS. I feel like the game is easily worth the $30 i spent getting it on steam a few years back, so for $5 it was a no-brainer and now I have something to do in the car, even without needing wifi. This gane is a great platformer, I played the original 20+ years ago as a child, and the game holds up amazingly. The game is stylized just like the original, but the graphics are far better, with it's graphical quality closely mirroring the TV show. Just buy it and you'll have a blast.

This game is so fun I love the graphics there amazing and the end is sooo much better than I thought it was it is hard at some parts but other than that it is amazing I love how you can explore so much and the the 3d world and the details are so perfect I love how the golden spatulas unlock more places and the boss battles are extremely cool fun and the game is so nostalgic to see all my favorite characters come to life and I can control them I absolutely adore the game but some parts could be easier but that’s it I love the game and you should keep making more games like this!

I was trying to feed Mr. Krabs Mission Inn, help forest where you have to put all the stones cities in place every time I try to get the last one it won’t work because I try pick me up and putting it in the box or going into the box yeah it doesn’t work since we can’t jump and hold items as Patrick so I had a general nothing and then I did the cut scene and then it just writes the thing and plus we can’t even get to work This is still a really good game. We’re just making sure that we can jump while holding items as Patrick.

Never have I ever thought that I would see this game on my phone but it gives me a lot of emotions Honestly. I used to play this game with my dad on the PlayStation 2 before he got deported and to even play it on the phone is something I don’t think he would have even thought of either. The game is amazing on the phone. It actually feels like the game is better on the phone. Only issue I noticed is a lil glitch when you get a notification but nothing too crazy or annoying. But it still makes me so happy that I can play this game on my little phone compared to a PlayStation 2.

Honestly the game functions as I’d expect it to on mobile and I love the graphics and layout, but I feel like there are a couple bugs including cut scene glitches. But I gotta say, this game does a fantastic job at bringing back memories. There is a lot to love about this platformer, and I am so glad to see it on mobile now. The PS4 version of SpongeBob: BfBB Rehydrated was exactly like the original game in almost every single way but with very impressive graphics. I can’t wait to see where this game leads on mobile. It has a bright future!

I never got the release of this game for my Xbox one but I ended up preordering this version since I just got my iPhone 12 Pro Max as well as my Elite Series 2 with a Moga phone clip that connects my phone and controller together. This combination allows for the most epic of gaming experiences, like playing this game or even COD mobile. Let me tell you how amazed I am with how good this game is and how polished it is on this port! Handy games I gotta HAND (ba dum tsss) it to ya eh. This is a really quality and I’m so excited to play those boss fights that were cut from the original PS2 version. So happy !! Worth every penny!

It’s all amazing. The levels are amazing. The things are amazing and this is amazing and blah blah blah blah blah but I have one more question. Why is the mountain things always have the hardest levels on earth like the snowman was not easy right now man every time I keep losing those snowman are trying to reset by yourself except for being a destroy forever so yeah I like it, but I finally beat this level and now I am feeling better now, like I cry a few times when I was playing that level, but finally beat it so it’s stupendous

I was literally shocked that it was coming to mobile. I have been playing this game on the ps2 and now, I can play on my phone! The game itself looks AMAZING! Game runs smoothly, graphics are great, and it just fun to play. Touch controls are easy to use but I recommend using a controller for a better experience. My phone (iPhone 8) does get hot when playing. I recommend to lower your graphics, but other than that, I’m just glad that I finally can play my favorite childhood game on the go. It dream come true!

First off, this game is perfect and the fact that they brought it to mobile was mind blowing to a point where I had to get it again... BUT. Every time I try to play, the game freezes a bit when I receive a text/notification. I think this will be fixed in a simple update but other than that, the gameplay feels smooth and the controls were the best they could be for a mobile game (controller support if you don’t like it). SPONGETASTIC!!! Developers just need to pop a few bubbles....

So this game is amazing. But in Spongebob’s Dream the crusty crab level is just impossible. Also, after you defeat robot Spongebob and you go inside him, and after you go on the trampoline, when you try to go on the 2nd trampoline, however, before you even go on it, it makes you die. Like, that is just so unfair. That is why I’m giving this app a 4 star review. But everything else is great! Oh, and 1 more thing, can you please try to add more places on this game? That would make a lot more fun.👍👍👍

This is amazing. First off I never expected to see a console game of this quality on mobile. Mobile games are fun.. however this.... this, is where the real fun of gaming on the go is. I wish for more like this.. like I hope this app succeeds so more developers can follow suit and release their games on this. And make it fun like handygames did. As for (handygames) you guys are awesome! thank you for this game and to your team for the time a hard work it took to make this. Was blown away by how smooth and intuitive the game is on mobile. If your in ipad idk if it’s just me or if it’s a glitch but I downloaded and redownloaded it I can’t hear any of the music or anything I had this game for a year I paid for it year later I wanna play it again and boom it does not work can someone fix this cuz idk if it’s a glitch or me but I can’t hear nothing my volume is up I just can’t hear it I read a review it said “there are glitches” so idk if this is one but is so please fix that but other wise THIS GAME IS AMAZING even zebra gamer played it if yk yk

Me and my cousin were playing SpongeBob battle for bikini bottom and then out of the blue. I hit Sandy’s Lasso I go flying. I say is this supposed to do that? I’m like no it’s not supposed to do this so then it keeps flying and I’m flying and it looks like I’m gonna fly into the sun and then I am freaking out and then I had to start over all of my hard progress in that town inside bikini bottom, and then my cousin was jumping on the trampoline and then Sandy act like she was flying but she couldn’t move so please fix the bugs

It’s a fun game but it’s really annoying at time and sometimes my iPad would crash whenever a level would load and that didnt make it any better also on the first jellyfish level a golden spatula isn’t there it’s not a big deal since I beat the game it’s just annoying that it’s not there so I can’t get every spatula. Also on the first level I could not figure out how to drain the lake and the Krusty krab robot level really needs a tutorial it took me hours to beat it

First off, the game plays well and is a great port. I remember playing this game as a kid and love it as much now as o did then. However I am having a save issue after getting about 2 hours in the game. I saved and when I went back 30 mins later the save says I have 40 golden spatulas and 55 socks. The save also won’t load. Not sure what happens but help would be appreciated. I don’t wanna invest anymore time and it happen again. Is this a known issue?

I love SpongeBob so I got this game on Xbox and I’ve been playing it a lot I found out it was on mobile and I was very excited I wanted to purchase it for myself and I was really happy try try it out I can’t believe it’s only nine dollars I mean that’s a good deal I’m really happy I finally got this game on mobile and it’s really cool it’s also very interesting and it just looks a lot more better on mobile it also it’s just confusing at the buttons sometimes I press the wrong one but I don’t care it’s really good game

Game needs to be redone and freshened for iPhones. Game constantly lags, glitches, enemies don’t register hits, buttons don’t function correctly. I could go on and on. Also, better settings options, I would love to be able to change the button size, I’m pretty sure that’s one of my biggest issues. Hoping they see this over all the positivity so that way the game can actually be enjoyable for everyone and not just a certain select few

I’m a big fan of Spongebob and this game. I was on the Hype Train of its release and seen the bumpy development of its releases, I of course owned the PC port, very superior than the Console release. But what really surprises me is that this Port on mobile blows away the switch port in so many levels. Getting a stable 60FPS and the gift of the iPhones beautiful display. Extremely recommend to pick up and help send a message to big devs to port their premium games to mobile as well

Hey when I was sandy she kept flying in the air. Fix this. Also when I was SpongeBob I was shooting the robots but they wouldn’t die and they just kept freaking coming. First of all, I’m not saying this is a waste of time, I’m saying to play this when ur bored but if you fix the bug, this game should be #1! Second of all, Patrick kept walking off the world for some reason and I couldn’t stop. If you are reading this developers, please answer me!

Ok first off I have to get to the end and it is so hard second there’s a glitch that I will tell it’s where if your in downtown Bikini bottom and you have sandy you can like when you use the glider thing it sometimes makes you float in the air and you have to reset the game and get back in it and that’s the only glitch pls fix that and don’t respond just fix all the glitches (but it is still really good)

This is a pretty amazing port all things considered, I’m playing this in an iPhone SE and so far have not run into any frame rate issues so far. This is the only port so far to have quality settings, which is a blessing, especially for older devices. All the achievements are accounted for, and the controls are as good as they can be. It’s really surprising that this is even better then the switch port or even the Xbox port, but I’m glad it’s here. For $8.99 it’s well worth the price.

I have played this game on GameCube, Switch, PS4, Xbox One X, and now my iPod Touch 7th gen, iPad Air 5th gen, and my iPhone 13. This is one of the games that identified my childhood. The only thing I have found so far with this port is that when I defeated King Jellyfish I did not get the spatula even though I picked up the spatula after defeating the King Jellyfish. This game works fantastic with M1 and A15 chipsets. Love with the Xbox One, PS4, and PS5 controllers. Touch screen controls are great too. Graphics are incredible.

I played the original game back in 2003. And, I recently played this on PS4. Once I seen that this was coming to The App Store, I was so pumped. Once I started playing, I didn’t start to have problems right away. Although, I experienced crashes halfway into The Jellyfish Fields Level. I love this game other than the crashes. And I would like some Crashing Issues resolved for my Review to be Five Patrick Stars and for my Experience to improve.

Aside from little nightmares this is probably one of the best ports from console to mobile the graphics aren’t as good as a ps5 but it’s basically on the switch level of graphics. It also runs at 60fps (idk if it doesn’t for older phones but it does on mine) and I love the nostalgia this gives me so that’s why I’m rating it a 5 stars.

I have always wanted to play this game, but I don’t currently own a console so this was my only option. When I finally downloaded and installed the game I was completely blown away by the graphics. It definitely seems like a pretty decent version of the game and I can’t wait to beat it! This game is very nostalgic for me because I used to play it a lot as a kid.

SomI love this game it’s really fun but there is one issue that I had on sand mountain when I was beating bubble buddy’s time near the end of the mountain SpongeBob turned around and I thought that’s weird it didn’t do that when I first went down the mountain and then SpongeBob turned back around and by then bubble buddy’s timer ran out but otherwise the game is amazing and I recommend it

I remember playing this when I was super little. My siblings and I loved playing it on the gamecube so to see this game in the app store is really crazy. I love it so much and the game runs so well. It is just as fun as I remember it. It is nice to relive a part of my childhood again. This game was my favorite from the past besides The Simpsons Hit and Run but this is for sure my favorite game in the app store now.

Really well made mobile version of the game, but I noticed that the patches that were added to the console and PC versions like refighting bosses, Mr. Krabs’s shiny object requirements being lowered, and the theatre having actual concept art in it are not in this version. Will you be able to add those to this version at some point soon? It’ll make getting 100% way better.

It looks amazing but confusing I think am just bad at these type of games but I would not know what to do in this game like sometimes I think it’s just a side quest but then I realize I had to do it but gameplay wise it’s good Sandy’s part with the lasso it doesn’t tell you to hold jump to do the thing it’s fun but takes a lot of time to realize what am supposed to do

I am on the newest iphone. iPhone 12 Pro Max and it specifically says this game is supported on my phone. I’ve tried opening and closing it 7 times now and it can’t even get past the nickelodeon logo when you first click on the app. What a complete waste of $8. I could’ve just bought this game on console instead. Don’t waste your money, find the nostalgia on ps4.

I don’t think anything could ever top this nostalgia packed re enhanced mobile port. This is everything you want and more in a game, funny dialogue, great game mechanics, and great story line. As a long time Spongebob fan I couldn’t be happier to be able to do it all over again! Worth every penny. (Also please consider adding in multiplayer horde mode just like there is for the other platforms)

I like the game but you should really make sure in like the section with the marble it’s so hard next time you should at least put a timer on where were you at least have it on and you can always covered up the holes it’s so hard including the one will you have to move and go to the hall to the hole and get the switch so annoying.

This game is amazing but make a different version and make it better because I want to see a ton of more things like a giant squidward and something new in Patrick’s dream. There are also a LOT of bugs in the game so people can cheat. A name for the game could be SpongeBob SquarePants battle for bikini bottom 2. Anyway those are my ideas for the game.

I can’t believe one of my favorite childhood games has not only been remastered but has also came to mobile! In good quality too and not a knock off 2D puzzle game! Although the game does tend to make your phone hot even with lowered settings (iPhone XR) I usually keep an ice bag behind my phone in a towel and use my PS4 controller. (Yes this is also controller compatible too! Definitely worth!

Unlike crusty cook off, in a jam and the arcade one, this is actually a full console port from ps4 and Xbox. It’s actually a real SpongeBob game from console. It’s worth playing. Actually looks good on a newer iPhone and plays buttery smooth. Controls are set up well. Things are shiny. You’ll like it if you grew up playing platformers 3D like Spyro, crash and Mario.

It’s a good game but the DreamScape Is So Damn Hard!!! Could u maybe make the obstacle courses more easier please? And can u add more underwear in the Mr krabs dream please? Thank you!

I love rehydrated on mobile i 100% beated rehydrated on ps4 and switch and I’m so excited to 100% beat this on mobile I hope thq Nordic remakes the spongebob movie game

As a F1 fan, I really enjoy the slides in this game. The slide and Sandy’s dream is hard, but very fun and Kelp Vines is hard to master, but when mastered it is very satisfying. Sand Mountain is my favourite level as well.

On the goo lagoon level where you reach mr. Krabs. The 3 moving tiki heads is bugged, if you jump on them your hit box is toooooo big and knocks you straight off, and if that doesn’t kill you. The BUG where you jump on the first one instantly kills you and plays the death scene even though YOU DIDNT TOUCH ANYTHING!!! not only that but Mrs puff spatula mission has no way to kill the robot spawner and get back. Once you destroy it the length to jump back is way to big and is unreachable. Plus it thinks you are out of bounds when your not. This is within my first 8 hours of gameplay. I’ve tried atleast 40 times on each of these spatulas even trying different ways to get it. I got so fed up I just continued and came back. Still couldn’t get em. Other than these two bugs the game is great and playable for the most part and graphics look spectacular and brings back child hood memories

This night I got in and when I joined my saved world it said ‘error can’t load saved game

This is a cool game! I really love this game because the levels are fun and creative, the story is great, and I’m happy this came to mobile! But there is one thing missing which is Multiplayer and the new cosmic shake game. I think those things will bring more people to play this game. other than that, this is a masterpiece!

Console quality, with my Xbox controller paired to it. Just finished the first world, does not disappoint.

While SpongeBob was at Rock Bottom Mrs Puff immediately gave him a Golden Spatula even though he has 2 out of the 6 Museum Paintings

This game was very fun to play, but the level when you have to switch to sandy to glide but if she’s on a ledge There’s a chance of her just flying forever and you can’t do anything but restart from last check point, other then that the games great I love the bosses and I’m hoping they make more games. The games about six hours long but could be longer if your looking for socks.

Can we dress them up like a k pop star, a unicorn, a angel, a astronaut, a dragon, a baby, a butterfly, my melody and hello Kitty! 3. Can we give our characters names my is hello Kitty. 4. When our pets get hungry we will need a house, we get to have any kind of house, hello kitty and even more. 5. We need food. 6. When we get in the game can we make the characters hair, clothes, skin colour and make it a girl or boy like SpongeBob and some other boy or girl, can we choose their voice to?

COSMIC SHAKE MOBILE NOW PLEASE

This game is seriously rage inducing, This game makes me want to throw my phone at a wall. Everything looks amazing and there’s an awesome nostalgic feel but I seriously feel like they chose style over substance. Here’s an example of an unrealistically difficult level. In SpongeBobs dream the Krusty Krab level is just impossible. For the consoles I imagine it’s easy because it’s easier to control with a controller other than 5 buttons smushed together on your phone. There’s no way to maneuver SpongeBob through that level. It’s just impossible to the point that I gave up completely. And this game is made for kids. Also not every level is like this there’s just a few that are way more difficult than the others.

The game is great so it worths the money so far but my iPad keeps rebooting whenever I enter the game for a while. This problem has started occurring when I got to the Robot Sandy level. I tried restarting the game again and again but it didn’t solve the problem. I also updated my software but it didn’t solve the problem as well. I don’t want to blame the game itself because it might be my device’s problem. I also think it might be weird to address this problem since it’s more of a technical problem. However, I want to inform the developer in case there might be any useful information. Thank you very much!

Please make it to wear we can make custom controls. The 2 options aren’t very compatible with how i like to hold my phone and being able to just move the analog/ buttons or even having the option to make make them bigger would make the gameplay a night and day difference for me. i find myself adjusting the camera view instead of moving the character because I feel like the analog is too small and is stuffed into the corner of the screen too far. Other than that i love this game, Playing it; i get a sense of nostalgia because i use to play this on the ps2 growing up

I really enjoyed the nostalgia of playing the game for the first few days. Now every time I go to open the game it gets stuck on the Nickelodeon page. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max. My game is up to date as well as my phone. I have restarted and closed out of the game, as well as tried to redowload the game and nothing will open it up anymore. This just happened today, I purchased the game a few days ago and this is disappointing me. I spam tapped the screen, and disconnected from my wifi and reconnected. Nothing works 🙄 I only play on my iPhone I will try to do the backup.

Edit: taking off another star because these updates really shouldn’t require reinstalling the entire game. Other large games work around this. I have to take off a star only because while these updates are great versus no updates, I know other larger sized games don’t force you to download the whole game again. Not all developers have their updates slimmed down like this, but many do. I feel like I am downloading the whole .ipa file again.

This game is fun in all but so many glitches! When I was looking for lost socks in downtown with sandy I found a roof that doesn’t have collision! so devs PLEASE update this game with patch notes and make the theater less expensive and it made it super impossible for me to 100% complete! It’s a REALLY big problem. Like one of the glitches is going out of bounds in bikini bottom. but I have to say what carried this game was the ✨mechanics✨ like BRO IDK IF ITS A GLITCH BUT THE FLOATING MECH/GLITCH IS SO PRO THAT IS WHAT CARRIED THIS RATING!

Hello this is my first time playing that game and I love it. I grew up off of the movie game both on game boy and console. On the bikini bottom sandy can use her rose to slow her fall... the problem is some of the time she just RISES instead and I can’t get her out of the animation so I just see her rise to the top of the map SO HIGH to where I can see a small square which is the whole level map below lol. It’s an interesting bug but makes sandy’s movement mechanics broken. Thanks for reading

Played this for quite a while everything seemed fine until I realized there are parts of the game missing and is full of so many glitches it’s unplayable happen to me that I was lasso in the air or stuck in the floor or mid air froze …. It’s 2023 and it seems it’s the year of games unfinished and having player test just to get patch’s so 5 months later have a finished project.
