This is the first game in my 13+ years of playing mobile games as a young child that has not gotten old after several hours of playing! I’ve played many games over the course of those 13 years such as doodle jump or angry birds. I’ve played every single ninja kiwi game and all of them are incredibly fun with the exception of Btd battles and Bloons city (the sequel might change that), but they aren’t endlessly replayable like this one. They all can be played for a while, but once you’ve completed every level and mode, then what now? It might take a while and in the middle you can get bored at some points. But Bloons pop is incredible! I’m on level 1300+ and I have not gotten a single iota of boredom! The animation is smooth, clean and fun. The 2d and 3D animation styles blend perfectly and are so cute and fun! The projectiles, sounds and Bloons popping everywhere is so satisfying. The gameplay is incredibly fun and not too hard. The extreme is difficult and I can lose sometimes but with the addition of regenerating power ups, you can still beat them and move on. I play this game to relax or pass the time and it is incredible! I don’t even have to focus all my attention either. The ads are manageable compared to literally 99% of recent games where it is everywhere. What’s incredible is I haven’t spent a PENNY and you guys are making money by me just playing and I am deeeeep in the endgame. Just, 10/10. Good luck with making btd battles 2!
This game is not just luck, It’s actually a mix of skill and luck which is the difficulty I love! The difficulty curve is a little abrupt but that’s not why rated this game 4 stars. It’s because getting Bloons stones are extremely hard to collect. At the end of the game collecting bloon stones get even harder, like I’m not even kidding! Once you have everything unlocked you can’t get the bloon stones from the Wikipedia book thing (i forgot the name of it) But overall it’s a very good game and I’m only on level 56 and the levels were absolutely amazingly designed! And the best part about this game is MERGING!!! Shoutout to all the designers who designed the merging mechanic!! I can’t even explain it in words! It’s the literal best part of this game and i have some ideas to improve this game. 1. Make collecting Bloonstones by making the packs cost monkey money and the monkey money cost real money or you can just make the bloonstones canisters like 30 minutes something. 2. Make the difficulty curve little by little like a water cycle or something. Last improvement: Notice: You have to make collecting Bloonstones easier if you want to do this. Ok here comes the improvement, Make power ups cost Bloonstones instead of monkey money. Just make it cost like 5 to 10 Bloonstones but Ana ways that’s my review the improvements were for the developers to read and I’m just gonna say that I love this game
I love Bloons Pop! Its a very addictive game with lots of luck and RNG, but not so much that it is all luck. It requires some skill, strategy, and planning to pop all those pesky Bloons. I wish there was more! I can really envision and visualize this game as a tower defense or card game as well. Adding onto the prior suggestion, I think a Town-Building style game would be such an incredible idea and would fit with the style of Bloons Pop! I’m saying that the rebuilding aspect of important Monkey Cities in this game would look out of this world if there was upgrade unlocking, PvP, and buildings! If you folks at Ninja Kiwi are planning on a future continuation of this franchise and expanding to different categories, that would be just swell and wonderful news! Another thing to add is the beautiful art style! First off, it’s a 3D style which is difficult to pull off on mobile devices. Secondly, it Pops (get it?) out from the background and has a extravagant cartoonish style that I personally think would make even the people of the cartoon monopoly and headquarters of Cartoon Network jealous! It sounds completely out of the picture, but I think they would be open to collaborating on a Bloons franchise game! Maybe the characters of Steven Universe or Adventure Time could be the major focus.
I’m not sure what’s going on, but when I try to make a review on BTD6, it says I need to download or purchase the game. The thing is, I already got the game. But right now, I wanted to share something else. Recently, Angry Birds had a collaboration event with Sonic the Hedgehog, and I thought you could do something like it. You can do a collaboration event with whatever kind of game you want (maybe even do it with Sonic the Hedgehog as well) if you decide this is what you want to do. Maybe if you DID do a collaboration event with Sonic the Hedgehog, it can have sonic inspired skins, maps, a new menu screen with a new daily chest, and maybe even a new Sonic the Hedgehog tower (or hero). Maybe if you decide you can do this, you could make seven sonic-inspired maps, each one giving the player a chaos emerald during the event, which I think should allow Sonic to unlock a new upgrade path (a path 4) which the player can get all seven chaos emeralds to unlock. This path, I think, should be one upgrade, super sonic. Each round could have a badnik balloon in it, and when you defeat a round, you get a ring. When you get 50 rings, you unlock the super sonic ability, which is the upgrade (that is all it does. Give you an ability). The ability takes all 50 rings from you and turns the Sonic tower into Super Sonic for three rounds. Maybe Sonic is able to use a dark shift like ability that transports Sonic somewhere on the map. When he becomes Super Sonic, he won’t have the dark shift like ability, and will act like a helicopter tower, but one-hits all Bloons. Okay, maybe I over explained my ideas there, but you can add that if you’d like. By the way, this is an update idea for BTD6, which, for some reason, I can’t write a review on.
Quite fun and puzzling, it falls into the same pit as other mobile games with ads and micro transactions but both and minimal, like seriously the micro transactions are pretty useless, but the ads give bonus stuff, such as extra shots and chances, but this is only needed if you are bad (like me). Anyways onto gameplay. It is extremely challenging in some sections and not in others. Relies slightly on rng not dicking you over on some really hard levels but this can be bypassed. Art and sound are amazing and make this so highly rated imo. You will see the puzzle gameplay once you get into the game, it’s not fully balanced, but it’s fun in that way. Leaderboards are a nice goal to work towards. The lack of Bloonstones is a bit annoying at times but it’s maybe just because I rush it, and I’m slightly early game. Not really much else to say. I wish they let you edit your villages you made though. It has its ups and downs but overall I would rate it highly, maybe I have some bias for the art and series in general but eh, worth your time.

So I absolutely love the game but there’s a couple of things I would like to point out. First of all I don’t know if this is just me or not but the game lags out my phone like crazy, I’m order to play it I have to close all background apps and whenever an ad loads in it pushes the game off the edge and crashes it entirely making any ads that you can watch while in a level to gain the advantage useless. Secondly this is a small bug and it’s not really gamebreaking but on level 80 If you break the Phoenix power up with an ice monkey what happens is only the fireballs show up and not the actual bird then after you take another turn it appears in the middle of the screen not moving at all or shooting any fireballs it kinda just stays there and restricts your vision. Another small thing is that I’d like you to buff Oben and possibly nerf Churchill. The reason why is that Churchill is way powerful with the ability to pop black bloons on occasion can almost always do a full screen clear and even when it’s not a full screen clear you always get another hero after using him to clean up the rest. Oben does need to be buffed significantly because he is the weakest hero of them all with almost no piece on his projectiles he never gets a good amount of pops. There should also be a targeting system in the game to target either the bloons closer to the top or closer to the bottom or the strong bloons, and this would only be used for monkeys like wizard, Oben, striker Jones and maybe even boomerang. Anyway to summarize it, make it less laggy, buff Oben and nerf Churchill, fix the Phoenix bug on level 80, and add targeting. Thanks for taking the time to read this I’m going to go enjoy playing more bloons pop now!
Expected really annoying candy crush clone Received pretty fun game to burn time on. Its not time demanding but has plenty of levels and the following perks that personally sold the game for me: No "build timers" the worst offender is bloontonium chambers but after you get the second one its quite difficult to fill them anyways, and they dont take long. Otherwise this game entirely lacks real time based timers and structures n such build instantly <3 Very few forced ads plenty of optional bonuses you can obtain by watching an ad, but I feel like an ad comes every 5 levels maybe? few and far between No Energy mechanic Energy mechanics are a predatory mechanic to cash in on people who like the game and pay for more energy or lives. This game does have a "hearts" mechanic, but losing is far and few between. that being said the game is fairly challenging. If you're any what experienced in games and common strategies for handling them, you'll likely find yourself scraping by levels without using any powerups or continues and feeling quite proud! Powerups cost normal currency and the "premium" currency has plenty of lasting obtainable methods of obtaining. Including generation over time for each zone completed! Overall 5 star game and something other mobile games should meet as a standard, at least for monetization standards. Love the company, the game, and the developers enough to write out this entire review.. So I hope whoever reading this decides to try it out!
It might seem like those generic pay to win match the color of the bubble game but it’s much different than that. The gameplay runs like this. The bloons destroyed the town (somehow, this still isn’t explained.) and your set to repair it better than ever using bloonstones and money. You get these by playing shooter “mini games” where you line up a shot that bounces around the walls to hit the targets, the multistacked, multicolored, bloons. You can use different monkeys with special ability’s to wipe them out, and it also features a merge system where if you have two of the same monkey in your first three slots, you can combine them into a “mega” monkey. Overall 5 out of 5 go play it, and of course it features some in game ads and purchases, but this is to support the devs and its not pay to win, just some helpful rewards. So try it yourself, and see if you like it. Essay over.
I’m having fun with the Bloons style popper game. They have lots of cool merge units that are upgraded versions of the classic monkeys and towers we know and feature lots of free to play mechanics that are actually attainable without paying. The main thing is you can use your monkey cash similarly to other Bloons games to buy powerup which help you complete levels. My only gripe is that these are the same time gated progression methods we have all seen before so that aspect of the formula isn’t new. I like that you can choose to watch an ad to amp your bonus round rewards at the end of levels or just not watch the ad for standard rewards, but I HATE that if I don’t watch an ad often enough I’ll choose the standard reward and they will play an ad with no bonus reward and I could have just chosen the extra rewards if I had known. Very frustrating. Otherwise the game is fun if your okay playing only once or twice a day due to the timers on rewards refreshing. 8/10 Would pop again
I came from Btd6 not expecting much about this game in my mind I was thinking this is just going to be a worthless cash grab. But I am glad to be wrong I adore this game. You can really tell how much effort love and care NinjaKiwi put into this game. This is undoubtedly my favorite one of these puzzle poping games I’ve played and forever will be. But for as much as I love this game there are a few things that I would hope could be fixed in the future 1. Lag when fast forwarding 2. The content becomes repetitive after you unlock everything (maybe more monkeys and Bloons??) 3. Balancing (overall this game is pretty well balanced but there are some places where monkeys fall short and I would like to see bomb shooters to have a use other than ok at group Bloons. Other than that though I love this game and can’t wait for future content updates!
When I first got this game it was simple and had a good concept and the gameplay was fun pass a day and it’s not too Grindy most “Pop the thing by throwing something at it” games get Grindy after like a hour but this one doesn’t get too Grindy where it’s pay to win or watch ads to get so or so but this game doesn’t have that stuff so it makes it more fun by no pay to win or watch like a thousand ads to get so and so or this and this but this game just keeps it simple also this is my first review so hope the developer responds and I’m just happy that one of my favorite developers made a game different then the other games the developers made. This is my review.
This game is pretty good at the beginning, but once you unlock all towers and heroes it just becomes an boring grind through levels, as there isn’t much of a goal besides that. Purchasing buildings in the various areas has no purpose, and the towns only give you power ups when completed. This wouldn’t be a problem if there was some game modes or something like that to do once you’ve finished the “story”. The team mode is alright, but it would be way better if you could make your own team, inviting people so you can do challenges with people you know rather than random, seemingly ai-generated people. Another problem is that most of the levels are pretty easy, but the ones that are hard are pretty much impossible without ads.
The game rocks, though unlocking Bloonstones is rather slow. So I went to buy a 3rd canister. However, after I paid the money, it spent forever loading the purchase. Even after refreshing the app multiple times, it won’t appear and revisiting the purchase feature will just cause me to wait forever again. I purchased a month of VIP pass and it worked just fine, so it’s just the 3rd canister that’s causing this. I paid money for this and I’m a bit upset that I can’t even use it, so if you could please look into this bug that would be much appreciated. Thank you for reading this
I don’t often find myself playing puzzle games, but admittedly I have come to really like this one. The Bloons title is alone enough to make it popular, but the devs also clearly put effort into making the game itself enjoyable to play. The only gripe I have is the unskippable ads after every level is completed, but it’s only a minor issue considering it’s only ever after you finish a level and not even if you fail or back out of a level (so far at least). Highly recommend for people who enjoy this genre or games.
I believe Ninja Kiwi did a good job of balancing ads with the gameplay. It is vary optional for watching ads and I think they did a good job on the way they advertised it. Remember people the reason this game has these ads are because this game is free so you shouldn’t blame them for it. Also one issue Ninja Kiwi, the level balancing is off a bit because I play some levels which are way easier than the last and some of the levels are very hard, and yet when I play some higher levels which are way easier than low levels. Hopefully this gets fixed but overall a fun game to play. I also like the fact that this game has merging in it two. Thanks for all your hard work.
First, I find this to be a fun game so far! Aside from keeping the cute aesthetic of the series, I enjoy popping all the bloons with the varied characters. At first I was concerned that this game was gonna get bad because of merging and bloontonium processor aspects, but the former is actually a neat idea and the latter is hardly a problem. The one glaring flaw, however, is that the app likes to “black out” after ads, where the audio will keep going but the screen itself is frozen black. When this happens, I am forced to close the app and reload it. Happens often enough that it is very annoying! I hope they fix it soon. Otherwise, I recommend trying it out!
Wizard monkey appearances: I have been playing the game for a while now and through the 200 levels I have played I have only ever used the wizard monkey once and I hope to see the wizard monkey in the future. Churchill: Churchill is a monkey in a tank that shoots bombs at balloons but can pop explosion proof balloons; it doesn’t make much sense. It even says that he is bad against zebra and black balloons. Gwendolin: Gwendolin is a monkey that uses a flamethrower and Molotov cocktails but can’t pop a balloon that is resistant to magic; this doesn’t make much sense either. Mega super monkey: I honestly don’t get why supercharged darts can’t pop lead balloons; it just doesn’t make sense to me.
I have been playing Bloons games for years, so I decided to play this one. I’m only at about level 40, and I have enjoyed it. The levels are designed well and the towers seem balanced, however I can not get over a few large game design choices. Most importantly, I am not a fan of the randomized tower load-out. It seems like the towers should be preset (aside from fire streaks) to make it more fair, especially considering this is listed as a puzzle game. There are already forced ads—which I do not mind on a free game—but the ability to buy a new tower hand bothers me. Overall, good game, but I would like to see some improvements.
I really enjoy this game and would rate it 5 stars but when I was doing the “on the beach” level I decided not to place anything down tell I had everything so I could really think about where I wanted to put everything, but when I got the last item it no longer allowed me to place any of the previous items even though I hadn’t placed them yet and so now my “on the beach” level is barren and very devoid of life. If this gets seen can you please make it to where you can still place items you didn’t previously place even if the level is finished.
I gather that this is just they way that games developed by great developers are: super fun, yet infuriatingly obvious in the incentive (sometimes necessity) to spend money to progress. This is a great Bloons game. It reminds me of the OG Bloons I’d play on my computer back in the day. Every time I beat a lever, I feel a need to keep going. I do anticipate that there will be one day that a level will come where I can’t beat it without buying something. Even Reddit is in consensus: watch ads to get through certain levels. This is not fun. Speaking of ads, I wonder if there is some limit on the number of ads one can watch in a time period. I watched several the first day I downloaded the game, but there have been long stretches of time where the option to watch ads just doesn’t show up, so that’s extremely frustrating because then the only option is to buy stuff, which I’ve not done. Anyway. Really fun, I just wish it were less in-your-face about buying stuff.
In my opinion, this game is really fun and has a lot of potential. The only problems are that the game has a very steep escalation in difficulty, and I think this is because of the lack of characters and heroes. For example, in BTD 6, there are like 30 placeable monkeys and 12-15 heroes. In this game, however, there are only 8-10 monkeys and 7 heroes or such. What im saying is that the game is really fun at the beginning because of all of the new stuff in it, but after that, it gets kind of old and unfun. So in my opinion, add more unlockable monkeys/heroes and spread out the time it takes to unlock each thing.
So far the only hard rounds have been 63 and 355. Camos are annoying but they’re supposed to be. I love regrow balloons lol very satisfying. Glue gunner monkey always has terrible bounces maybe it’s me? Idk. I don’t like rng but this game does it relatively well except how inconsistent hero's are. Adora is weak, maybe allow her ball of light to shoot upwards more? Ninja never seems to “clean up” as well as I wish it did, sometimes I’ll have a few balloons at the very top and some at the bottom from the new line and it’ll hit the first one on the top I point it at and then ignore the rest at the top. All things aside the game just needs harder rounds.
Better than Bloons TD 6 and battles2
The title says it all
As the title says
It’s so addicting and each round doesn’t take long at all so far atleast and it gets you hooked with the progression and character unlocking if you’re bored then you could definitely just play this AWESOME GAME
Bloons pop
V It is so much fun to play and with it it’s
It’s to good
Its soo fun I recommend
The game isn’t half bad but limited options to merge add more options and less adds but to fix the add problems just turn off wifi on your phone 4/5
So good I think everyone should download this game such beautiful graphics and details.I think you put so much hard work into this game thank you for making my gaming experience 10x better 😊
Epik
But Quincy’s Voicelines should be at 1000% Volume for consumer entertainment
But you made me like because this is the first one
This game is really cute and i have nothing bad to say about it. NK, you nailed it!
Great game should play
It's a fun little spin off from Bloons TD but gets a bit repetitive.
A bit p2w but there are no pop up ads
This game is one of the most awesome game
Good game
Honestly one of the best games out there. No limit on how many lives/times you can retry a level. Super fun ☺️
Can the developer make the levels easier please? I’m stuck on level 52
Boo
It’s probably so much fun right now
I have every ninja kiwi game (I’ve ran out of space lol)
5 stars<3
This game is very good I suggest you download it the levels are also satisfying and in the storyline is just self funny and cool
Good game but some parts make it lag ans a dartling gunner would be nice as well as teir 3 towers
Loving the game but I’m patiently waiting for an update
Pros: The gameplay is very good. It’s not very difficult but rewards good strategy. Power ups are handed out like candy so stockpiling is a good idea for the more challenging levels. Plenty of room for updates and new content Cons: a little slow to progress after the first town is completed. The units are unique but there aren’t that many as of right now. The forced ads are unskippable at the same time they offer boosts for watching ads which seems kind of redundant. The ads will sneak up on you. Personally, didn’t notice the ads until after the early game when they seemed to ramp up, though this could be coincidental. Ultimately, it’s a free game, so if you’re interested in the gameplay like me, the ads are a small trade off. At the same time, you know what you’re getting into. Hope this helps.
I was never really into these types of games but I do love the Bloons games. Played for 1 day without adds went to sleep… AND THEN I WAKE UP WITH AN AD AFTER EVERY SINGLE LEVEL
They are very good characters in the base game, and for the engineer, he should have pin. for mega, he should become over clock and overclock himself.
Bloons Pop! Negative Reviews and Ratings
So I’ve noticed wile playing that no matter how many times you play a level, you always a different set of monkeys every time, so I suggest on that part that you either A. Just make the same monkeys appear every time in a level but not in the same order or B. Do the same thing but have the monkeys in the same order every time to play a level or C. The player can choose which and how many monkeys can be in a level (make a MAX for each monkey depending on how good it is for the level) but it is only how many shots you have for that level (Highly recommended). Now I have played a puzzle game where they have a mechanic similar to the hero’s, and I suggest that you make it so that you can choose which hero to use in the level and that each hero can be leveled up by using it in a level. The reason why I suggest these things is because I am on level 44 and usually get about half way before using up all my shots so please add at least one of these so that it makes the game more enjoyable because if a game is too easy, people get bored of always winning, but if the game is too hard they will give up and play something else EDIT: also maybe give the players a power up or whatever you call them if they lose about 5 or 10 times in a row to help them beat the level they are stuck on EDIT: I also noticed a few bugs that you should fix in the next bug fix, 1. The account button does nothing except take you to a loading screen and take you back to the game. 2. The watch ad button doesn’t take you to an ad. So also please fix these bugs ASAP it would make the game a bit easier.
I’ve gotten up to level 44 and while the game is a good time waster and is usually fun, there are a lot of flaws I’ve picked up on while playing. First, the random difficulty spikes. The game starts off with some extremely easy levels, which will then become very difficult within the next few after the easy ones in comparison to the previous levels. It’s so bad, it gets to the point where you need extremely good rng in order to beat the level. This wouldn’t be too big of an issue if it wasn’t a life based game where you have to wait an hour to play again. Additionally when you lose you also lose your “on fire” bonus, which can help significantly, which makes sense but it makes these harder levels even more frustrating. Anyways the level patterns pretty much go through this cycle of difficulty which gets a little repetitive but it’s not that bad. My second complaint would be how some towers are leagues better then others. For example the base super monkey, ninja, base bomb, and base dart monkey are all pretty bad towers, with even the merged ninja being mediocre at best. While other towers like merged wizard, ice, and glue gunner which can pop/hurt half if not all Bloons on screen. Finally my final complaint would be how that all tue ads are in skip-able. It’s a free game it’s fine if it has ads and to be fair they do usually keep it minimal, but usually you’re allowed to skip an ad after about 5 or so seconds. This isn’t a huge deal just something I wanted to acknowledge. In all, though the game can be frustrating it’s pretty fun and is a pretty good twist the “bubble pop” genre.
This game seems very fun and engaging at first, until the progression becomes very slow and tedious, making you watch many ads just to have a chance at beating a level. The ramp up in difficulty is huge from the game becoming laughably easy at first and then suddenly only getting halfway through a level with the moves given to you. Once all the new characters are unlocked, the game just kind of stops becoming fun and getting the bloon gems take a long time to get. One way to fix this issue is to update the levels, they can be easy in the beginning, but certainly increase the number of turns you get in later levels to keep the game somewhat entertaining and rewarding. Secondly, the game doesn’t have much to it, I would try to find a way to create a sort of “deck” with the monkeys you have so you can make a well balanced deck that suits you. Also adding some sort of upgrades for the monkeys would help make the game more enjoyable to play because if you lose a level, you could upgrade a monkey that you need. Some monkeys are also way more overpowered than others, getting one dart monkey to kill 100 bloons doesn’t do too much. Great game and new take on the franchise but certainly not one of Ninja Kiwi’s best (at the moment).
I got this game after a friend had shown me about it. I’ve played other BTD games and thought this one might be worth investing time and energy into. So I tried it, got to about level 40 and started noticing some things that have made the game nearly unplayable or at least not enjoyable. As previous reviews have mentioned, there is not strategy to the game. Monkeys are randomly selected and depending on the load out, it could really make or break a match which is a hassle when all the best power ups are via your hot streak which sadly, resets and makes the game harder to progress in. It’s still satisfying watching the balloons get popped and it’s still satisfying seeing all the different monkey abilities but all the satisfaction is torn away the moment an ad appears. Which is all. The. Time. I’ve had the game for about a week and in my personal experience, I’ve had an ad play after every single round. It really takes away from the game as some of these ads can be pretty lengthy. Unfortunately I’m going to have to knock this down to a 2/5 simply because of the excess amount of ads and no way around it (I can’t even do the little cheat by turning of all connections on my phone because it’ll try to load an ad but I’ll only be met with a blank, black screen).
I got this game recently and not even a few days in I have already encountered huge walls to climb over. At the beginning of the game, you only have a few types of shots. This makes it feel like you are more in control of your actions. As soon as you unlock all of them by getting to level 25 or so, the random factor takes over the game tenfold. Some balloons have effects where the multiple when popped, some say that damage from specifics shots won’t do anything, and some say that the balloons will become invisible and shots will go through them. Now you get a level where you have three full rows of balloons with each of those types all in one. The game tells you to use ice and explosive damage for the multiplying balloons, but also that you can’t use ice or explosive damage on that balloon. So you are stuck hoping to get lucky with the random shots the game decides to give you. You also have to grind bloonstones to progress the story of the game, but to get then you have to ether encounter something new or play a huge amount of time just to wait a 4hr timer. That also only give you about 8 stones when you need around 50-60 just for the second part of the story. I’d recommend playing the game until you hit level 50 or so. It’ll just be an annoyance past that.
Reached level 60 and got bored. There's no actual strategy, because monkeys are randomly selected. Prices are expensive for crappy power ups, and I hate those 7 day/30 day "subscriptions". Are you guys that desperate for money? Just give me a permanent purchase, please. While I didn't have to purchase anything to get to level 60, I had to watch a lot of ads. Sometimes you get lucky with a powerful hero, sometimes you get a dart monkey with his worthless 3 darts. Sniper is also pretty useless. Churchill is the only hero who can clear the entire board, but he appears randomly. Gwendolin is also decent. But she's like the rest of the heroes who pop a few and disappear. The higher the level, the shorter time they stay on the board, yet Churchill will float all the way to the bottom (only if you do it in a tight side-to-side motion to make him bounce off the sides). Regrow bloons are just mean because they increase your counter and expand up into your red zone as you pop them. You can't look at the encyclopedia during a match, so they expect you to memorize everything? Would be better if we could choose from all of the monkeys, rather than 3 random ones.
This is a lot more well thought-out than I initially thought. I’d pay for a game like this. But the ad model gets frustrating. A few examples: Eventually, you will reach levels that you can’t beat unless you use power-ups or play ads. If you get far enough, you get a generous flow of power-ups, but not generous enough to use on every level. So you’ll need to play ads. That’s bad enough. There should really always be a way to buy an ad-free experience. Separately, as with many iOS apps, depending on hardware and the random history of what you’ve done on your device since last restart, any multitasking has the potential to crash your game. There shouldn’t be severe consequences for this in a casual mobile game, and that’s true of most other games by this publisher. But here, it means you will lose your streak bonuses, which are more or less necessary to maintain. Now put these two problems together. Some rotated ads will by default open the app store. There is no way back except to multitask back to the game. And then it’s crashed. Too frustrating to continue, even though I’ve paid for some upgrades.
As a long time Bloons TD fan I was excited to try this. The game is fun enough and carries over some of the tower mechanics into this plinko style game. I always appreciated in Bloon TD games that you could buy it and it was a fulsome game with new content but no ads after that. The problem here is while there aren’t ads initially, and you can watch ads for bonuses (standard) at some point when you get up in the levels (I’ve played over 100) you start getting pushed ads at the end of rounds which just ruins the whole game (you normally have the option to watch an ad to double rewards, but at some point you get them regardless). Additionally the game has a mechanic where if you win multiple round you get “fire” rewards which allow you to start with additional items, in the later rounds you won’t stand a chance without there… but you can also watch ads during a round to get more turns so it becomes almost impossible to lose a round but you are also often watching ads for an extra shot because losing those bonuses would just screw you so it’s somewhat risk less. Besides those elements it’s a well made game and the mechanics are fun lol.
Update: level 86. Oh, there are thousands of levels lol. The difficulty curve has evened off. I have used a power up yet but I have paid in game monkey money to get the steak again. You lose the steak if you don't finish a game so never stark a game and then close the app. This limits the "two minutes here, two minutes there " playing ability unless they'd a continue I missed somewhere. They need a research option to power up the monkeys, especially the base monkeys. Upgrading is the heart and soul of bloons, if they don't add this feature I can see myself losing interest very soon. The streak kills the candy crush pickupability factor, research would balance that and improve on the formula. Previous review :Played thru without a loss until level 40, more I'm stuck there and there's really nothing else to do but keep playing until I pass the level. They really need side missions and random mission generator instead of just having the main progression.. Also no way to play old levels to get stuff. They really need to add monkey leveling like in TD6
The gameplay was fun, but it was a let down in a few areas. The later levels require insane luck with shots and heroes or you could watch ads to get power-ups. If you choose to retry to get good luck, you're going to drain your lives. Once you run out of lives, you're either forced to stop playing the game entirely or watch ads. Which means once you get to the later levels, you almost have to watch ads to progress. On top of that, you have "optional" extra rewards you can get if you watch an ad. But most of the time, even if you don't select that, an ad plays anyway. This game also crashes and freezes way more frequently than any other mobile game. Sometimes it will even crash/freeze while playing an ad. If it crashes during a level, you cannot continue where you left off and the life you spent is gone. It's a cool concept, but falls victim to every other terrible mobile game. The first few levels are fun, but definitely not worth playing after that.
The game is fun, but there a quite a few flaws with it. -Forced “Optional Ads” The game has optional ads which is fine, you watch a 30 second ad for an extra life, or a power up, typical for a free to play game. But I am at round 60, and the “optional ads” are happening on their own. You are given two options after you beat a level, “Watch an ad for 1.5X rewards” and “Continue”. I always hit Continue, but now the game forces an ad, and on top of forcing the ad, it does not give the extra rewards. Its a smack in the face to the user, then spitting on them. *Lack of balancing* -It is a mobile game, meant to make money, so I understand having really difficult levels. The issue is you can never strategize to beat the difficult level, because your team is random. Imagine being stuck on a level with lead balloons, and you never get an explosive character, or only getting one after having to waste characters who cannot damage the balloons. -There are some other gripes i have about the way the levels play, such as the “extra shot” characters are pushed on the top of your character stack, preventing your stack from moving after a shot. This can prevent you from merging 2 characters. It basically punishes you for trying to strategize. In the end, I think there is a decent base for a game here, gameplay-wise, there are some things that should be rethought, and some additions would be nice, but the biggest issue with this game is the forced “Optional ads”
This game was great for the first month or so, before every level was followed by a forced ad. I get that some ads are necessary to keep the game free, but given how many ads you need to watch for extra moves just to have a possibility of completing these levels, it’s a bit excessive. This is a lot more irritating in light of the existing problems with the ads that do play. Most don’t mute when the phone is on vibrate and they override any music or podcast you’re listening to, sometimes such that the content can’t be resumed from the control center and requires reopening the source app (which sometimes makes the Bloons app restart in the background even after a few moments in another app, losing you the level and resetting your power ups). The only way to keep the ads from blasting sound by default is to turn the media volume all the way down, so you can’t listen to any music or podcasts while playing this game unless you’re unbothered by constant interruptions from the (often jarring and violent) ad sounds. Oh, and if you’re wearing AirPods connected to another device, unless you disable your iPhone’s Bluetooth, the sound from the ads will automatically pause your content on the other device, disconnect the AirPods from that device and connect them to your phone, and blast the loud ads in your ears. As other reviewers have mentioned, the voluntary ads for in-game power ups will also often crash the app, causing you to lose the level. This game became my new staple for downtime and fidgeting, and would stay that way if not for this. But most likely, as with every other game I’ve downloaded in the last 6 years, I’ll have to end up abandoning this one because there’s little incentive for the ads to change if the business model follows that of other ✨freemium✨ apps. I assume the ads will remain as invasive as possible so long as 90% of the app’s income comes from the ~5% of users they can cajole into paying to get rid of the ads instead of either muddling through them or simply losing interest in the app. Sigh.
First I just want to start off by saying overall this game is a lot of fun. It does have its issues though early on. I’m playing on an iPhone 12 Pro Max and this game absolutely drains battery life. Also there are a few bugs where you will lose your on fire status out of no where which is a big deal. Without the on fire status good luck beating levels. And even with with the on fire status your constantly watching ads to get 3 more shots so you don’t lose with it. This is the most ads ive ever watched for a ninja kiwi game but they still don’t seem overwhelming. Pro tip to always empty out the bloon containers by watching ads before playing when they are full as you waste the bloontonium. Great game and can’t wait to see where this games goes Editing review as this game has been out for over a month and only had enough content for 2 weeks. Doesn’t seem like Ninja Kiwi is going to keep up with this game as they never update it. Sad to see as it was such a fun game. Have over 300 red Bloons and nothing to spend it on
Let’s get one thing straight: this game is fun. For a little while. Then you quickly reach “unfair” territory, where you either have to watch an ad or you’ll lose. So many of the monkeys are underpowered, notably the Ninja and Bomb Shooter, and so many Bloon types, such as Camo Bloons, are irritating and poorly balanced. Most of the Bloon types in this game worked in BTD6 because you had access to so many more options. In this game, what do you have? Only 3 RANDOMLY SELECTED cards. Sure, you get to see two cards ahead in your deck, but what if you’re faced with countless Zebra Bloons and only have explosive-based monkeys and/or an Ice Monkey? It’s awful. Also, heroes. Great idea, and it works decently well. But Obyn needs a buff. Every other hero works pretty well, but Obyn’s too weak to really be of use in later levels. My recommended changes: Add a system that allows you to upgrade your monkeys. Reduce the time that Camo Bloons are camouflaged. Make the Ninja’s attack area bigger and give it one more attack per use. Make the Bomb Shooter destroy more layers on hit and make the explosion radius bigger. Add a way to switch monkeys from your “next monkeys” bit into your hand, maybe on e per turn. Overall, a decent start, but I expected better of NK at launch. Here’s hoping that rebalancing occurs soon.
As of Sept. 1st, 2021. The latest update has introduced ads to the game BEFORE each level starts (when you hit the play button) now. This is the line for me where I say it was fun while it lasted. It was already teetering when there were ads to get the multiplier post-level, an ad to get a roll to the daily pop, an ad to get a daily crap roll from the store, and an ad (twice) to get some extra monkeys (barring paying the $250 monkey bucks) during a level; some levels of which really have arbitrary difficulty. Had this game since it launched, and made it to Wave 311 before this latest update. Was working on completing the final available area in the list (Monklantis), too. But no more, there were a lot of ads before, but now it’s simply too many. It’s too ludicrous and far too push-heavy to getting you to buy the recurring “gold pass”. I’m disappointed, NinjaKiwi.
Now I enjoy challenging and difficult games however some of the extreme levels feel UNFAIR as opposed to challenging and believe me there is a clear difference between those two words. I don’t think extreme levels should have an RNG element at all. Every shot has got to be fixed in order to learn and improve but instead, since every shot is random you are pretty much FORCED to watch an ad maybe once maybe twice. The worst feeling is watching two 40 second ads just to lose and retry again knowing even with an additional 6 shots I still couldn’t make it. Meaning the next time around I’m going to have to watch 2 more ads again. I made it to 100+ levels and that feeling of knowing I have to watch ads or lose is unbelievably ~~unfair~~ NOT challenging
The game is a good time waster but it gets boring really fast. I like that you only lose life if you don’t beat the level, rather than using a life per game. I hope they don’t change this because I could easily spend an hour playing, as long as I don’t lose all my life. There used to be events to play if I ran out of life but now those are locked behind a Ninjakiwi account. There’s also an issue with ads and lags, I don’t mind ads because this is a free to play game, but their ads will freeze and crash the app, or it will freeze and play twice or even three times! It’s honestly ridiculous. Also, if it does crash the app, the game counts it as a lost life, so you lose your on fire streaks and your life. Sometimes the game will lag and darts will disappear so you can’t tell where they are going. Monkeys will also get stuck on a certain type, so I don’t know which monkey I’m using. For example,if I used a super monkey, visually it will show as a super monkey for the rest of the game but the powers are that of a ninja monkey. It’s frustrating and I couldn’t find a place to report these issues on the game itself. I hope they come up with a patch these issues in the future.
So, apparently, this was supposed to be based off of the original Bloons games. Well I’ll tell you what it actually is. It takes the original games and throws them in the dumpster. This is a nightmare of a game, and everything I didn’t want Ninja Kiwi to do. 1) Ads Ads Ads You are bombarded with ads every level. If you don’t choose to watch ads for rewards, you’re forced to watch them after every level. It’s unplayable after some time, and seriously detracts from the experience, if there was any to begin with. 2) Boring and Repetitive Gameplay I’ll admit that the first 60-70 levels were (mostly) enjoyable, but it quickly becomes the same thing. Over and over and over and over. You’ve unlocked absolutely everything the game has to over by level 70, which is obviously a massive problem in replayability. So if you spent money to remove the ads, then you’d be greatly disappointed to find out that the game quickly becomes “watch paint dry.” 3) Lack of Updates There’s no updates anywhere in sight. And the issue is that the game desperately needs attention to become anything. RECOMMENDATIONS: Ninja Kiwi has actually made some good free mobile games. I can recommend pretty much all of them over this dumpster fire, but especially Bloons Supermonkey 2 and Bloons Monkey City.
I’m a big fan of Ninja Kiwi’s past tower defense games. BTD 5 & 6 were a blast to play and battles was fun. I never tried the other games by Ninja Kiwi, so I decided to try this new game. Quite frankly, I’m disappointed. Every feature in this game oozes generic mobile cash grab. From the lives, the extra bonuses, the levels and the powers. And that’s not even the end. The gameplay is okay at best. When winning or losing is dependent on the random towers you get, It’s easy to lose for no reason at all. After you unlock the final hero (lvl 30) there’s no more progression at all other than powers that are given out occasionally. This leads players to believe the only way to beat the levels are with powers and - what a coincidence - you can buy them for real money. TL;DR: Don’t buy this game - It is built around stealing your money, and the mechanics are based purely on luck and not fun past 30.
I like this game a lot. It’s a pretty fun spin off of a spin off (Bloons Tower Defence is a spin off of the old game called Bloons) The good things I like about the game is the design of the game itself, it’s very family friendly, the bloons are decent and the monkeys can sometimes shred (Normal Dart Monkey is just meh). The merged monkeys absolutely shred hard if used correctly and the heroes to. and you get to customise the places how you choose. The powers shred if used properly, and the adventures feel balanced and challenging, and gives you a set deck you have to use. The bad things I would want to point out is the difficulty curve, you’ll be playing an easy level first and then the next level just hits you hard. When you do get a hard level, you have to hope you get a good deck to use, otherwise you’re toast. And the On Fire system is practically mandatory if you ever want a chance to win these hard levels. Luck is not something I would really like and sometimes I would blame the game for giving me a deck that isn’t in my favour. I also don’t like the life system in this game. You get 5 lives and if you lose them all, you’ll have to wait almost an hour to restore them. I do not want to lose all my lives and my On Fire bonuses at the same time. If the life system isn’t in the game then losing my On Fire bonuses is a lot more bearable, although it’ll still feel like getting punched. Luck should not be the main factor in winning, just skill, because with skill you can only blame yourself for being careless in your shots, with luck you have no choice but the throw your shots and blame the game. The ads are horrendous too, you have to watch ads just to get 2 or 3 more shots, if it’s on a hard level, you pretty much have to hope that they are good monkeys, otherwise it’ll be a lose-lose situation. The grind for Bloonstones and monkey money is tedious too. You barely get enough Bloonstones and monkey money to get anything. I wish every level gives you more monkey money and some Bloonstones for those Hard and Extreme levels. Overall, the game is good however has some bad mechanics. Would recommend only playing it on the toilets or if you not using any WI-FI. Otherwise, don’t play this full time.
Playthrough: Played through level 345, got all the entries in the book thing, completed to a point roughly halfway through whatever the ocean zone is after the bloonstone beach. I gave this a chance as a longtime bloons fan, and it does not hold up well. The original bloons had better gameplay than this... not even thinking about Bloons TD. The actual puzzle game that the original bloons was had more to it than this. This game does not deserve to be called a "puzzle game." To be fair, this game is alright if you just want to kill time and don't care about ads. It's very playable at a casual level, or "intense casual" if you have time to grind. Additionally, there's a minimal amount of multiplayer competition, where each day there is some goal to try and compete for like popping certain bloons types or merging towers. Of course, all of the challenge is completely based on randomness and grinding, because it is a mobile game designed to encourage ads. This gets two stars because the ads are not completely unbearable like in some games. To end off this review with a relatively pointless observation, this game has a merge mechanic. Why are these so common in monile games...?
At first I really enjoyed it, but as it went on it got super difficult, like it was ridiculously hard to progress, in one level it was full of camo zebra regrows and all I kept getting were monkeys that either couldn’t see the camo bloons or monkeys that didn’t affect the zebra bloons. This was like level 65 and I had saved up all my power up bloons and was on fire since the beginning only for me to use them all up on this level and not pass it. It’s ridiculous how much you have to depend on micro transactions to get past the higher levels. Idk this game feels like a cash grab from Ninjakiwi. I’m a huge fan of them and I’d rather pay $10 for a game that I can enjoy and get challenged knowing that I have to improve my skill instead if relying on micro transactions. Feeling a bit disappointed tbh
Ninja Kiwi made one of my favorite game series, bloons td. I had high hopes for this game but… it was very disappointing. There is nothing new to see or do. Here is how the game goes: step 1: enter level step 2: watch ads to beat the unbeatable levels step 3: repeat until enough monkey money/“red stuff” until you can buy new building step 4: repeat until finished with game. This honestly would be fine if it was actually satisfying or meaningful getting a building. It’s not satisfying likely because the building or village you built signifies you just watching ads to win. The merge feature, the monkeys/bloons combo, and some others I can’t think of off the top of my head are the only reasons this isn’t 1 star. Thank you for reading, and have a nice day!
It is making me watch unskipable ads after every level, Making me play for an hour to get enough liquid stuff to fill up to get gems, then it take 4 hours to get 8 genes, and you need about 50 gems per town. I have spent nearly none of the “Monkey Money” and I still don’t have enough of it to by the second tube for the gems, so whenever I beat a level now, I lose all that liquid stuff. As well as you can only play this game with a charger, as I have a decent phone, and it killed 5% of my battery in 2 minutes, and I wasn’t even in the puzzles part yet. I love the Bloons Series, but this is just making you watch tons of ads or spend a ton off money on the games to do much. I am still playing the Bloon games that I already spent my money on, but you might have lost out on a customer.
This game was great and very addicting at first but as soon as you progress to the harder levels (40+) you will instantly realize that the levels are basically impossible to beat without using power ups and watching ads to get more shots. The game reels the player in with normal gameplay by presenting levels that are fairly easy to pass. Once players get hooked and keep playing, the game ramps up the difficulty to force players to either spend their real money or watch tons of 30 second ads. As an example, level 47 requires you to pop 827 balloons with 8 shots... without extra shots or a bunch of power ups it’s impossible to beat. Many other levels are like this and I’m not sure why ninja kiwi thought it was a good idea to force their players to rely on ads to progress.
The game seems initially is very fun and addicting until you lose on a difficult level and lose your on fire bonuses. Some levels feel borderline impossible without them because of how much of a difference they make. And since the only way to get the bonuses back is to beat a few levels and you can’t go back to previous levels, it is very easy to get stuck. Of course you could just use power ups, but is is unlikely you will have very many, if any, because of how likely it is that you spent it all on buildings and such. At this point your only option is to buy something with real money or to watch a bunch of ads.
That’s really all there is to say about this game, I had fun unlocking the monkeys and discovering new stuff, but now, every level is relatively the same, the difficulty of level 100 is the same as 1000, and the pointless building doesn’t help either. I’m done with the “campaign” and it’s just grind work, there’s no thinking involved, just get like 60+ bloontoniom crystals per area, and move on. Endless grinding for no reason. Suggestion; add more strategy. You have a good concept in the line of monkeys, but it being random isn’t great, maybe go for a deck building type gameplay, and definitely add an actual reason to build in the areas, instead of just “for the grind”
If you’re gonna monetize with ads, please make them work properly. Several ads either soft lock or crash the app, losing you the level if you were watching for extra shots. Also, ads show up at the end when you choose not to increase your rewards by 1.5x, so you might as well choose to increase your rewards anyway. Not to mention the ads being 40 or even 50 seconds, then automatically bringing you to the app store (I know ninja kiwi doesn’t make the ads, but still). The gameplay is at least entertaining and fun, for the most part. 2/5 Ads are horrible, please fix them and put them where they are supposed to be. At least the gameplay is somewhat good.
Amazing game, but the forced ads completely ruin it
Fun at first but after lvl 20 you get slammed with ads every lvl. Deleting the game.
Why is lvl 42 impossible without boost?
Do ads get removed if I make a purchase? Having an ad automatically pop up after every single level I play is ruining an otherwise fun game for me.
Boring mobile game that has nothing interesting to offer, gives you op characters at the beginning and just free wins.
The game is fun but not dat much I didint lose at all I’m in level 14
Can’t beat 35 heeellllp
They lied. Even you purchased to remove ads. They still exist. Whenever you are out of shots or wanna double the reward, you still need to watch the ads. Also the whole game is full of RNG, you can shooed the right type of the monkey to shoot however you can’t predict the route of it. It just bounces randomly…
It could be better if more elements from TD were added and the upgrade mechanism should be there as a key feature
He’s sux
It was good for the first like 2 hours, then the ads starting to pop up. Ninja kiwi do better, that’s the reason people stop playing
The regens are a little over powered since you can hit one regen and to many come back, if you find a good alternative for this broken mechanic much appreciated
I try to play it but it keeps making me do level 1 over and over again.
The game is pretty fun, but the interface is buggy. It often freezes during the game, when watching ads, or before we can access it. Would deserve 5 stars if those issues were fixed.
It’s a fun game, just enough difficulty to keep it interesting. The odd random ad sometimes but mostly a choice to watch ads for more moves. Almost done the current levels though, need some more please.
ALWAYS crashing during ads and constantly losing bonuses because of it. Please fix. Otherwise great game.
Played it happily for a few days then spent a week on a level and wasn’t allowed to pass the level, it didn’t matter what I did I was not allowed to leave the level. I got so angry I deleted the game.
After 300 levels the game forces you to watch an ad after you finish a level. No double xp or money, just an ad after every. Damn. Level.
The game itself is quite good and designed well in theory; but there are many bugs needing fixing. The game crashes…a lot. This mostly happens when initiating a video to watch for rewards, but has also happened mid level. This becomes frustrating as it can often require the ‘on fire’ bonus to just complete a level. Great potential but needs some polish.
