Shockingly good!Stumbling upon this app (and it’s sister app Toon Art) is now saving me literally hundreds of hours in the top industry photo apps turning my photos into toon and or manga style base photos. The outcome quality of each toon style they offer is light years ahead of any desktop app I have used. I am rendering my photos into toon shots in this app and uploading them into the finishing desktop app for any fine tuning. Shockingly Good and Shockingly ExpensiveThe results are just phenomenal, I used it for a week to make a number of tunes out of pictures of myself, my wife, daughter, son and a couple of close friends, oh and my cats. Then it auto renewed and I realized that this wasn’t an expensive app that cost $9, but instead a rediculoisly expensive app that cost $9 EVERY WEEK! While I enjoyed using it, and as I say the results are incredible, there just is no way it is worth almost 500 dollars a year. So I am canceling the subscription that I didn’t really understand I was signing up for. Really frustratingCan only give it 3 stars bc sometimes when I tap on the 3D cartoon, it doesn’t show the pictures. Face not foundIt's a decent app to fool around with, providing you can get it to recognize your face, or any face in a photo. Several attempts using clear face photos & it didn't "detect" a face. Mostly love!I give this four stars because I love the effects enough that I paid for the year, however, the app crashes on a semi regular basis, and also I find it limiting that you are only given an eraser to adjust the tooned areas. Very often the areas that the app can’t recognize or convert into cartoon don’t make sense, giving the effect of foreheads or whole arms cut off in a way that look like severed body parts. It would be nice if there was a way to force it to focus on certain edges or fill in spots that are chopped off even with good lighting and camera focus. I also wish it could handle animals a little better. 95% of my selfies with my pet bird come out looking incredibly bizarre. This is often the most common situation that I am wishing I could add lines that get blurred over rather than only erase. Occasionally I can achieve that effect by erasing where a line needs to be, and positioning the toon over a dark background. This makes, what would otherwise be a stunning image, incredibly limited. Doesn’t WorkI tried with a variety of settings and none of them came out looking like the actual picture. I read all of the great reviews, and I was excited, but ultimately was disappointed with the end product. I wish I could post the pictures, you would get a laugh at how off the app was from delivering something close to looking like the people in the photo. It also automatically defaults to a “white” skin color, but you do have the ability to change the complexion once the picture is generated. The clay one which is the one I was most excited to use was the one that was most off brand. They do have a free trial, it didn’t charge me. I used it for the day and then cancelled after seeing what they outcomes were. The app was easy to use, it just didn’t deliver anything that looked remotely like me or anyone that was in any of the pictures I used.
