Content Violations are too strict.I was to start off by saying I genuinely love this app. Getting to make content and characters and have special interactions with those characters via video prompts has been amazing. However, what I’m struggling with is the ai content violations. I’m a light skin male and I used a prompt that involved my character of me and another character I created hugging because at the moment that is what I really needed. I tried this several times even altering the prompts. But it told me that my prompt was suggestive or racy.. which honestly offended me Alittle. I tried to do ones where I was telling my character about me going to school for massage and offering him one and explaining the body pressure points and such and it told me no. Because of depictions of teens and children?? And when I tried again it said it was sexual and told me I couldn’t do anything for 20 minutes. I love this app to pieces. I can’t begin to tell you how much it’s help me. It was even recommended by my therapist for that very reason. However, I serious think SORA needs to reevaluate their restrictions if possible because as I said for the simply prompts I was doing, to be told they are violations for depicting teens and children, sexual and even racy is rather offensive. I know you have to add your own account to make the character but for the side characters, please try to add the options of the realistic characters. My media/library disappeared(updated)I’ve only used Sora on my desktop, never my phone. Decided to get the app, and my ChatGPT and Sora synced up upon installing. Went through all the steps and skipped the portion of giving my likeness over to be used…whole app, and account was at zero. Don’t even have any my media section now. I’ve tried multiple browser extensions, log out/in-changed pw, have videos from yesterday, when o first used the app; now? On my laptop, didn’t update or do anything…yet! I got and check out Sora on my PC—-updated to the app looking platform and still no my media/library. I had very unique images created by Sora. Even one-her last one, as the wildly amazing looking humanoid/interwoven matrix system…gone…so 1 star until my library returns Update-yeah ok so the super small “…” on the bottom of the platform? So-SoSo, it’s ok. I think once it fixes its copyright issues, and polishes up what it has issues with, we’d be ok. The copyright issues with recognizable material is just not going to happen, but what I mean is more related to the messages about things being to similar that already exists. That needs to be fixed, since it wastes too many videos within your daily quota. I understand the 30 video limit, so it’s not a part of my critique. If it saves power usage, I’m good with it. Please understand, that some of us do care about that, as excessive power use just for videos would raise energy prices on the poor. As far as other criticisms, my main issue is just the amount of failed videos due to copyright confusion and, “explicit material” for video not meant to be “explicit.” I really don’t have patience for it, as I’m an adult who has become increasingly annoyed by big tech censorship, especially false censorship. Eventually I assume the flashing logo would disappear once a membership is established, as well as quality. It does need need improvement with prompt understanding. Updated Review!As promised once able to use the app I would review. It’s great, that simple. The videos come out almost exactly as described. Problem, lots of limitations on what you can and can’t generate, some are understandable some are just overreach, even borderline stupid. The limit is apparently 30 videos in 24 hours and each can only be 10 seconds. I understand short video limitations with AI but tray that needs to be raised to 20 seconds for crying out loud. If there was a paid option to maybe allow 30 seconds to 1 minute videos with unlimited videos, I would be for that. Lots of potentialI have been enjoying my time with the app. The concept is great and it can be a lot of fun. Things to fixI have been using the app for about a week. Here is what I think needs to be fixed to increase the overall rating of the app and usability. First, content violation guardrails trigger on minor things like mentioning a real persons name, if the person can be cameod, have the app fix the prompt. If the app could just suggest a fix for any other content violation it would be a better experience. Second, uploading pictures of people should be allowed, grok allows it and will overtake Sora with too many restrictions. Third, when a user clicks see less often, the app sends the user backwards to the first video they saw when they opened the app in the current session. This is not user friendly. Fourth, you need to find a way to build a community like TikTok did early on, there is very little engagement on the videos. Love it But the RestrictionsI really like this app. I have been using it almost daily since I installed it. It’s very fun and addictive however, they really need to do something about the restrictions. I have seen multiple videos with Tupac and other deceased celebrities but every time I try to make a video with Tupac it says I’m violating a policy. When I read their descriptions, there are no different than mine so I don’t know why my Tupac videos are being restricted, and there are not. And I’ve had restrictions on many other videos as well that seemed pretty basic to me. I always get the exact same policy violation no matter what the video content is and the restriction doesn’t really specify anything so it’s hard to know what exactly I did. Potential Is ApparentThe app is addictive but once you get too many content violations and restrictions, the app is not so fun. The creativity is limited. Making cat videos, animals dropping scat, quirky dance videos seem to be what they made the app for. They should separate age groups. For example, kids and teens should not follow adults and vice versa unless they are related. There should be an option for more mature themed creativity for adults who are interested in that. It’s not limited to racy content. It could be anything that adults relate to but are not for kids. That option should require age verification and other steps to ensure that the content doesn’t get consumed by younger viewers. I will say I don’t mind the structure of creating videos but I feel that if 1 video takes 10 seconds, then a video that takes 2 gen’s should be 20 seconds. As you try to fix that video the results are different again. So you go to ChatGPT and ask it to help you and when it doesn’t and you paste it in and review the protagonist is facing the left and the antagonist is directly behind the protagonist and saying their lines while cat moonwalks in forwards and says the antagonist’s lines. So you tell ChatGPT the results don’t work, and it asks you what’s wrong, so you paste in the link to the Sora video, but ChatGPT says it doesn’t have the capability to view the video. After you descriptively explain what you saw and what didn’t work , it rewrites the prompt to fix the discrepancies, only for the results to be different again. One of the worst things is the sensitivity and restrictions on 80% of what you type. Like a cinnamon roll that is gooey and sticky will get flagged for sexual stuff. Some stuff I don’t even know why it gets flagged. The processing time takes a long time too. And about 70% of the time when I scroll the main feed it’s frozen. When it does work a lot of the videos are really dumb and not even half as funny or addictive as other social media apps. Good but too restrictedThis app is pretty cool let me point out the negatives. When trying to make your own cameo, you have to record yourself saying a few numbers, then looking to the sides. It’s not enough to know your smile, or any emotions that were not included for you to show. Sometimes the voice isn’t even accurate. For me I couldn’t make a cameo while showing any part of my chest, even if there is no cleavage. V necks aren’t allowed either. The generations only are about 7-10 seconds. The prompt for the generations are very restricted to the point I can’t even understand why it wouldn’t let me generate. Most of the time it doesn’t even flag the prompt until a few minutes later when you think it’s done. They also assumed my friend was fat lol and he’s no where near that. Terrible customer supportI’ve had an issue dating back to the 12th of January 2026 where my account keeps getting constantly prevented from generating after verifying my phone number on the website itself after I tried to trim a clip. Ever since that verification process I’ve been seeing the “We’re under heavy load, please try again later “ message over and over, essentially locking me out of my paid pro subscription. OpenAI’s technical support has no idea what’s going on either, and has asked for screenshots, for me to use a computer and different device to capture data with help of third party programs (I don’t have a computer and don’t think I can afford one either) to troubleshoot something their own technicians should be able to look into.
