Been looking for an app like this!Been looking for an app like this for a while, and after seeing it on TikTok, so I decided to download it. The user interface makes it very easy to use and it’s aesthetically pleasing. The issue I have with it is the investors spend more time making ads, then actually being active on other platforms. I attempted to research before actually investing and getting into the app. They have a Discord that they aren’t even active on and the TikTok account that they have for this is mainly just add to not actually how to use the app or tips or anything. It could be a very good app, but I feel like I’ve basically had to go into this blind, because there was no one you can actually ask for about information. They offer a zoom call but it's hard to get in contact with a human being. Even on their website, the most recent article was from forever ago. They got meI originally downloaded this because of TikTok, but now it’s actually making me excited to invest. I’m not sure what they could do to make the app better. The only suggestion I have is that when you click one of the companies that you invest in from the list along with showing you your data with the investment would also show you all the basic info of that company as well instead of having to like search it. I’m not gonna lie I was reading other reviews that said it was a scam cause they couldn’t unlink their account so I got nervous and it’s definitely a process to unlink but I was able to do so. It’s really good, but a bit expensive IMOI’ve been wanting a broker for a while now since I usually invest on my own. I love Alinea for this purpose, and the returns are great. HOWEVER. Cons: The first 4 months I was investing $100 mo to see if it was worth it. I was making about a 10% return. So I bumped it up to $150. In 6 mo I have invested $800, and made $68. Here’s the catch: the membership breaks down to $10/mo.. so I’ve already lost $60 in fees. I haven’t really made any money at all. To make it worth it you would have to invest at least $300 a month to actually see a return. But $120 a year is just a little pricy if you’re not willing to invest a LOT of money per mo into a brokerage. $120 a year is more than half a stock of Tesla rn. Pros: their platform is fun. I love the short articles, and easily being able to track where my money is going and what I’m investing in. I love the bright colors of the app, with everything being engaging and easy on the eyes. It has made a somewhat boring topic engaging and has made me get more into stocks than ever over the last 6 months. Really great app and customer service!I originally downloaded Alinea last year around this time and, though it’s a great app, i didn’t want to start investing just yet. As it is stated when you sign up there is a yearly $85 fee and i had lacked to have seen that. I reached out asking for a refund because i just didn’t have money like that to spend. They’re customer service was awesome and they helped me get the money back + gave me a free year for the inconvenience. Fast forwarded a few months, i decided to deactivate my account since i hadn’t used it hardly thinking it would also end my subscription. I redownloaded the app and realized i had been charged the same $85 fee because my subscription was not cancelled. I contacted customer service and they helped me yet again to get a refund and to permanently end my subscription so it wouldn’t happen again. DeceptiveIt says there are no “in app purchases”. Not true. You get to the end of the sign up process, after you have already connected your bank account and then they spring the 7 day free trial with $120 a year fee after that. I’m so mad. Giving my bank account and setting up an account. And, let’s not forget, they will surely be investing your money so they make money off yours on top of that bogus fee. This should straight out should be illegal to hide the fees until the end after they have all your data. Apple should remove them from the platform immediately. As a matter of fact I’m going to report them. Stick with Fidelity Investments or Charles Schwab index fund accounts that get 8-10% yield over 10 years on average. Low risk investment strategy, all hands off. All these AI investment apps are a total scam. Don’t even download it. Promise, all you do is give up privacy. Next gen investing7/26 update They ended up reaching out to me a while back and resolving some of the issues I had. The team was very nice and explained why I had some of the issues. I did some research into the company and they look pretty legit so I’m going to give them another shot. 7/1 update. After trying out the app for a bit and dealing with them. It feels like a scam now. When I first started on the app, they were really nice and called me, asked for feedback. They said they would give me a referral link to track my referrals but I never got any bonus for any of my referrals, I had 25+ copies and never got the $100 added to my account. In addition to that, they said they would send me stickers but I never got them. Honestly that’s not even the main issue, I notice that every time I buy stocks, I would buy like $5 or $10 but they only give me like $4.80 worth of it and keep the rest. I was debating about transferring like 10k to their platform but it’s way too sus now. Refused refund even though I cancelled on the last day of my 7 day trialI signed up for a trial, decided it wasn’t for me and decided to cancel. Still got charged $120. Holding moneyAs I was setting up my account, I agreed to have a certain amount of money taken out of my account on the first of each month. At no point didn’t notify me that it would be immediately taken out of my account now AND on the first of the month. Worst App & Customer Service Experience I’ve Ever HadI’m not even sure where to begin. Maybe with this is the first time I’m writing a negative review for an app. There is no way to transfer your account to another brokerage without withdrawing the funds (which has tax implications). Account transfers are so incredibly common in banking I continue to be shocked this isn’t a capability. I had the most difficult time withdrawing my funds and received minimal help from the email bot that they call customer service. After I finally withdrew my funds, closed my account and deleted the app – or so I though – I received another auto-withdrawal and now have to wait another week to go through the exact same process. Saw most of the 1 star rating regarding having issues with withdrawals and at first I thought it was just the experience using the app... Fatal Service FlawLike most adults, I have more than one bank account. I have a savings account and a checking account. My savings account is where the bulk of my money is kept, there fore it is good for large one-time investments. However it has limits on monthly withdrawals. My checking account is where my paycheck is transferred, and has the liquidity for multiple smaller investments. When setting up my investment account I used my savings account to deposit a large initial sum, with the intention of making weekly investments through my checking account. It was only later that I learned this was not possible. You are only allowed to have 1 account linked to the program, and you can only switch the linked account by proving the external account is closed. Essentially I was locked in to making any additional investments from my limited withdrawal savings account, with an inability to add alternative investment sources without closing said external savings account. Language and tabs on the apps UI give the impression that linked financial accounts can be added or changed. This is not the case. I find requiring someone to close their external banking services just to make modifications to investment sources absolutely unacceptable. I cannot recommend this program until this system flaw is fixed. For $120 this subscription service is a total scam.
