Great Premise but fails to deliverI downloaded this app because I liked the idea that Ianyone I met would already know that I had children and to meet other single parents.
Herein lies the problems, if you navigate away from writing your profile or sending a message to someone, you lose it. Well you can message mutual matches for free, we can’t see who likes you to know if it’s a mutual match; so it’s basically a gamble if you happen to stumble across each other‘s profiles and like one another.
You can’t review profiles that you’ve liked, and can’t even review your mutual matches. I got a notification of him he’s full match, started to write had to stop, lost the message and now I can’t write to them anymore. Single parents are busy! We’re not always going to have time to write a profile in one sitting or send a message to somebody in one sitting. I understand that this is “a premium service“ $120 all at once for six months is not necessarily in everyone’s budget. Maybe offer at 7 or 14 day free trial to see if we want to pay for those features.

Expensive and creepy guysI paid the 20 USD to get the full app experience for a week - and if it accomplished anything it is not wanting to find new love in my life. Like so many said in previous reviews as a single parent this app is a bit pricey. My matches were looking for anything but a relationship. I have collectively never met worse guys than on this app. Something is completely wrong on their selection algorithm which should be more than just age, location and kids. You are very limited on how much information you can provide on your profile, or how interests are matched up, and pictures are not verified as compared to other apps. You match because of the picture you like, pretty much like selecting a meal on a restaurant menu. Guys are looking for (bleep) and definitely not for a long term partner/friendship. I have received explicit pictures and messages from pretty much anyone I had more than a two minute conversation with. There is a way to report users, but sometimes it was like a car crash, so bad you couldn’t look away. Fees are ridiculous.I paid $30 for the premium package (which I’m under the impression it covers most if not all the perks, it’s premium !) boy was wrong the minute they withdrew the $30 they wanted to charge me for extra super likes before I even used one super like that I just paid for then they wanted to charge me just to be replied to …YES YOU HEARD CORRECT. Terminated my Account with No ExplanationI registered, provided my pictures and other personal information that they asked for, and when I tried to log in the next day, I received an error message that access to my account was blocked by the admins. I reached out to customer support only to receive the below email. “Please know that due to our Terms of Use, your Stir account has been terminated. We believe this action to be in the best interests of our member community. Any new accounts created will be subject to review and will be immediately terminated.” No explanation, no reason why it was terminated and why any new account that I would create (which I definitely won’t after this) would be terminated! I am a legitimate single mom and I provided my own information and pictures. Make sure you cancel your subscriptionThis app didn’t really work for me for multiple reasons, but at this point I don’t care about how functional the app is. When I used the app, it was always trying to find ways to get me to pay MORE to get more content or to see more matches. I just kind of let it go and forgot about it. You’d think if an app is already collecting so much money, that they wouldn’t try to up sell you every time you open the app.

Stay far away, far away being the operative wordTake the least amount of value you can think of for your money without actually getting robbed. That is Stir. There is not nearly the amount of users as the other platforms such as Match for example (stir is owned by Match) so expect to be offered “matches” 1-2 hours away regardless of the criteria. On a dating app specifically designed for single parents. Expect to be “matched” with people you’ve already chosen to be not a match, 24 hours later and multiple times going forward. Expect to have no possibility of a refund. Expect to have no possibility of using your membership on a different site owned by Match whether it be an option within the app or via a credit for dissatisfaction. Do not use this. It’s a money grab. Read fine printI downloaded this and paid for the subscription. I don’t get matched with anyone even though I fiddle with the parameters and can’t choose to look at any other profiles except the ones suggested once a day. There is no options on height or what they are looking for or they will be super far away outside of state in the suggested even though I didn’t choose outside of 90 miles. I tried to cancel from beginning but when I found out how bad it was. The won’t let you cancel or refund and keep taking money. If you click help it takes you to their website of a blank page. Don’t waste your moneyThe users are questionable, so to find a decent match is difficult. You get new “daily picks” sent to your email. So imagine my surprise when I finally come across a couple of users that I am interested in, then not being able to view them.
I have not been able to see any of the users sent in my daily picks, selecting a profile takes me to view other users to swipe or match…but not any of the 24 daily picks. I contacted customer service and have gone back and forth w/ 5 different people who refused to read my issue, instead they gave the same response of “some times users meet someone and delete their accounts” or telling me to clear my cache, though I have stated in my emails I have done all the typical trouble shooting.

Have to pay to see messagesLots of responses here from the developers claiming they’ve listened and fixed problems. But if they have, I’m not seeing it. After uploading pictures, filling out bio, answering prompts, etc, all likes are blurred out. I have a few messages this morning and only ONE shows the photo and allows me to see what he wrote. And it’s not someone I ‘liked’ so I’m pretty confused as it’s not a match. If I tap the other messages it takes me to the pay options, all of which are spendy. Bad experienceI had install the app after getting the ad on instagram, after filing entire set of questions and comments I did sign up, later part of the day it logged me out and once I try to login, it says Stir has blocked my account. I did raise the ticket but they send me faq page and ask me to read all the reasons which can make the account deactivated , still waiting for the specific reason for them to deactivate my account, I don’t trust them with all my love and info that I put it out on app while signing up. I need to erase my data from there. It’s not right to barred me from my PI data.

Bad experience. Bad, bad experience.This is my first time using a dating app. And being a single dad I thought this would be perfect. I was wrong. First of all I had the choice of paying $60 for 3 months or $60 for 6 months. Ok? Not much of a choice there. Went for the 6 months. Then there are add ons. What the?!I would NEVER pay $40 for a month to simply pass on people.. and without even being able to see what’s out there first. The app is set up exactly like hinge BUT SO MUCH WORSE. Algorithms are placed to keep you interested but not fulfill your needsThey’ll set you up with people that match your interest but they’ll almost always be an hour or more away. The reason I’m writing this review is I am an attractive guy and do get a lot of likes but there always super far from where I live. My job is in the technical field that has me traveling all over central fl. I notice I get more likes in the general area of where I live when I’m an hour or so from my house working but when I’m home I never seem to have an option or get a like from people in my area, it uses your location against you. The app is good to keep your attention but not fulfill normal peoples needs in the dating industry. App doesn’t work + freedom of speech is not allowedThe messaging is spotty and flashes on and off. Several members complained about this to me. They also discriminate and censor against anyone who doesn’t hold progressive views and/or mentions God in their profile. Overall, pretty low preforming app in terms of functionality. The dating app Hinge works much more efficiently and effectively without issues of censoring. Also, the app does a TERRIBLE job at their selection and will randomly assign you people who live 2 counties over even after I adjusted the mileage. These were the worst possible matches I’ve ever encountered on any dating app and I live in a pretty heavily populated area that has a lot of young professional singles. Glitchy platform, not enough moderationThe platform glitches terribly. Likes that you’ve swiped left on reappear in your likes. When you X or swipe left on someone, it shows the next profile then quickly glitches and goes to a different one without you being able to review the profile. Your likes show on top of your intros and you have to exit the app, sometimes delete and download it again to get your likes and intros straight. There are creepy men with mom fetishes who are openly saying in their bio that their just looking to hook up with “mommies” and “mom doms” which completely removes the safety factor that is advertised for single parents on there. And I have to say, the men on there are the most unattractive men the city has to offer. I have never seen so many ugly people in one place. Meh.I like the concept, but like most dating apps, they don’t want you to find your person because that will take away their income. As a result, the filtering is minimal at best. I wouldn’t mind paying for an app that is worth it. And hey, we are single parents so we don’t have time to read through countless profiles. Ehhhhh. Not for me.Not many people on this app in some locations. So some days when your picks come in it goes across states to bring you options. Which is fine for some but typically speaking if this is a parents based app and you have kids. You aren’t likely to relocate knowing there is a co-parent situation happening.
If someone ends up in the daily “people for you” section and you say “no” they shouldn’t be able to keep liking your profile in return —and sending you multiple messages etc.
The generic answers are annoying. “Here choose 4 answers that everyone will have on their profile.” “Netflix and snacking.” I guarantee 90% of people that have “life goal—retire early” is doing nothing to actually achieve that. It’s giving.. I’m not ready to put in the work. 🚩🚩

Truly horrible appThis app is really bad. There are standard questions that they ask you at the beginning but don’t give you a “back” option while setting up to quickly modify. They then pipe these into everyone’s profiles and they’re the least revealing/interesting questions I’ve ever seen. They tell me nothing about a person. But then they show up across all profiles and often that’s the only info people have up. There is no prompt to complete your open-ended profile piece.
Further the people in the apps are barely even located in my area and I live in Brooklyn! Someone from Pennsylvania showed up in my swiping. They also all seem lowkey republican - one of the only dudes who was remotely handsome had an anti mask statement in his profile lol pass. Structure of app experienceI love the idea of this dating app. It’s hard for single parents to date and meet. The app itself isn’t too good compared to other apps. They push the purchasing option on you too much. I’ll get a notification that someone messaged me or liked me and when I open the app it won’t let me see it unless I pay for subscription. Then after you match with someone and can message for free suddenly their profile will disappear and it will say user not found. I could still message the person but I couldn’t see their profile, luckily we both decided to talk off the app in fear we would lose each other on the app.

Flawed premiseWhat type of idiot is designing these apps for Match group? The premise is that single parents want to meet other single parents. Waste of timeThe only benefit this app has over others is the option to filter out people who don’t have kids. But honestly, it’s not even much of a benefit… like at all. Expensive for single parentsThis website is dedicated to parents that are single. It is credibly hard to afford everything being a single parent, and having no one to rely on. I do believe in paying for things that are worthy. But it takes over a week of free trial to know if you really like something. No functional appI created an account, and while completing my profile I took a pause to finish later. Later I attempted to finish but was logged out of the app. I attempted to sign in and the password I created wasn’t working. My account was blocked and a message said to contact customer service for assistance. They were able to unblock my account. I finished my profile and I closed the app to come back to it later. A few hours later I open the app and I was prompted to sign in so I did only to have a message come up saying my account was blocked. I contacted customer service again only to be told due to “Terms of Use” my account was terminated. I’m not sure why as I had not actually used the app or make any matches. App has a lot of bugsI just signed up to pay for this app last night and I’m already having issues. I have three intros in my inbox and I can’t respond to any of them. If I go through the people who have liked me and try to swipe left on them, they remain on the list of people who have liked me. Needs a lot of workI don’t see the point in an app doing an initial questionnaire to set matching parameters if they are not to be taken into account. My parameters were pretty clear and if I’m asked for those preferences, I imagine it’s because they will use that information to send people my way that are within those parameters. After I switched to using bumble it seems like it’s just not having any activity, I’m not receiving notifications I still match but upon sending messages never get any replies. The basic feature should be to help members find matches. But the selling point is “hope that you match, then hope for the best…but if you want the best, pay us…and then hope for the best”
It’s a flawed concept that puts the users at a complete disadvantage and puts the app at 100% profit no matter the result.
If you’re paying for a year, they made a profit while you’re still searching.
It should be you match and all those paid features enhance the experience. Possibly pay to make your profile to stand out more? Not pay to search.
The comments by the developers are predatory after the fact that they’ve already made a profit.

Horrible App and Customer ServiceVery little functionality unless you pay an extremely high premium subscription fee. I paid $40 for 1 month just so that I could read messages that I received. I still couldn’t read the messages. In fact, not a single new feature was added to my account. I reached out to customer service via email (the only way to contact Stir), which takes 24+ hours to respond. The response didn’t even address my question or issue. It’s as if a robot responded with some standard response. I replied to the email clarifying my question, and will now have to wait 24+ hours for a response. I would leave 0 stars if possible…As an app, this is the poorest developed application out there. The interface was wonky most often with different text cells merging into the other. Right now I have a notification, but can’t even access the program. For a majority of the time it would not work. Even the online platform would not work. I am now a Fake ProfileI deleted my account, expecting it to vanish off the app, but I'm still receiving emails with men who are trying to contact me! The problem?! I deleted my account- Stir is lying to you! I'm not an option! And I can only imagine any other person who deletes their accounts are still floating around like fake profiles! : ( very sad. Terrible customer serviceMy account was deactivated after signing up less than 24 hours prior. I was given no reason or warning. I literally matched and chatted with maybe 2-3 people. Nothing inappropriate was said or done on my part. Some creep asked to have a playdate with our kids the following day (new years day), and when I politely declined saying I was using the app for adult dating, he accused me of being a fake account. I reached out to customer service twice asking why my account was being blocked but they did not reply. Save yourself the trouble of signing up. Not impressed at all.Several complaints:
1. I set my location preferences very specifically to be matched with people within what I consider a reasonable distance from me. The majority of the matches I’m getting are more than 5x that distance away. Some are not even in the same state! Useless “preference” if I have to sort through listed locations on each profile before I even consider chatting with someone.
2. There are A LOT of people with “no kids” and “do not want kids”, some even have both options shown on their profile. Major red flag, in my opinion, for something designed for single parents. Why would I ever want to consider talking to someone who “doesn’t want kids”? I can find those people on all the other apps.
3. I do not want to receive an email every time someone messages me. I’ve turned off every notification option I can find, and I’m still getting emails from this app all day long. It’s a nuisance and it’s totally unnecessary.
4. The profile prompts are awful, with only canned answers you can pick from.

AwfulIf I could give this app zero stars I would. For a parent trying to date, you think you’d have a better shot of finding someone who wants the same goals as you. This app is honestly a joke. It cycles through the same profiles and it shows people that are states away even though you set the distance to be profiles that are in your local areas. Do not waste your money. Awful User ExperienceThis app was either terribly designed or they have zero control over bots. I get email alerts on a daily basis that “so and so likes you” with a photo, and when I click to take me to the app it’s a different person and name 🤣 It is absolutely comical.
I tried sending an email through the “contact us” section and entered all the information. It told me a phone number was required (I had already entered it) and I hit send and told me I needed a phone number. I literally entered it three times and it never went through. Easiest way to deal with a bad product is make it impossible to contact you hahahaha.

Absolutely disappointing!!!!!!Seems like a great idea! A platform for people to meet that have similar situations, with minimal judgement and reservations. Don’t BotherI’ve been using this app for about a week, I gave it the benefit of the doubt, every 5 likes they ask you to upgrade, which was annoying. Terrible app with very slim pickingsScrolling through for the first time filled me with dread. I scrolled through the entirety of users in my radius in about 20 mins and most of the guys can’t even be bothered to write anything about themselves. Very user unfriendly and glitchy. It’s the worst one yet. Not a lot of people compared to Bumble( which is great and you pay monthly so possible to cancel anytime).

Expensive for what you getConsidering this is for single parents there isn’t much thought put into efficiency or catering to the single parent community.
- expensive for the quality of the app
- very little features for filtering preferences, you can only filter age, distance, if they’re a parent or not, and gender. No height. No education. No smoking. Etc. Leaving you to have to filter through a lot of people
- glitches - instant messaging is not instant. The refresh rate is slow, so if you’re in a conversation and someone replies, you won’t see it unless you exit out of the conversation and sometimes have to close the app and reopen it
- glitches - people send you likes and it gives you an option to message them, if they sent a message it doesn’t appear and there’s no way of replying them. Sometimes the message box says “label”. You can’t reply, you can only X them.
- glitches - when sorting through people who have liked you it will skip every other person on the list.
- glitches - I have asked for No Email Notifications and it continues to send me emails. I have clicked and unclicked opened and closed. I still get notifications.
- redundancy - again, why is an app for single parents not built efficiently? If I X people’s likes they appear again in my Like notifications. So I constantly have to sort through people the same people multiple times a day every day.
- the calendar function asks you constantly to share your schedule but doesn’t consider parents who are on a bi weekly alternating schedule
- fake profile pictures - there are a lot of stock photos and AI generated pictures
I think there should be more promotions or discounts for single parents especially for the genders that are less represented in certain areas.
