HORRIBLE APP HORRIBLEIf I would give 0 I would. I’m new to the stir app and downloaded the app last night. I got off the app and came back and my account went blank, then it kicked me off and when I tried to log in it says stir has blocked my account. I don’t understand how when I haven’t done anything and it’s my first time. I want to recover my account so I can delete my account and leave the app. There was no reasoning on to why I was blocked. I got a email without telling the community guideline and ban rules but I have done NOTHING. I do not understand anything at all without no information with this new app I just downloaded. I believe I have not violated. There is no reason in the email specifically telling me what I did as a new user. There was no nudity, impersonation, harassment and etc . As an app, it states that it’s open to everyone. I’ve seen other accounts that stated that they are not parents. As a new user this is absolutely absurd and I will be reporting this app because I strongly support that I didn’t have any reason from this email and reason in general. Additionally the customer service is dismissive and repetitive because it seems like STIR does this to many people on the review I see on the App Store it’s a high rating but very very poor comments with the same problem. I can’t even say do better because it seems like this app is STILL doing this bs. Now I don’t know where my info is and the answers I’m getting is dismissive. Shame on this app and responses. Intentional waste of timeSingle parents are not on this site to spend time they don’t have chit chatting with people 100+ miles away. More often than not, they can’t relocate and their looking for somebody they can actually have in their lives through more than just the phone without being long distance, jumping through hoops, going to court or abandoning their kids. If it’s past the radius I set, it shouldn’t be the most abundant suggestions you offer. The fact that someone who is actually in my area or radius shows up so rarely is wild. Unless the whole point is to ensure nobody meets anyone close by or who aligns with them so they can continue to pay for an app that isn’t even serving its purpose. As a single parent, we have such little time for and to ourselves. The last thing I want or have time to do while hoping for my moneys worth is to swipe over and over and over just to even see a profile near me or my set radius. Don’t get me wrong, I believe there are subscribers who would be good matches because your algorithm allows them to show up once in a blue moon. The problem is the amount of app screen time and usage it takes to even come across them. Occasionally show people out of your radius is a whole lie.

Great Premise but fails to deliverI downloaded this app because I liked the idea that Ianyone I met would already know that I had children and to meet other single parents.
Herein lies the problems, if you navigate away from writing your profile or sending a message to someone, you lose it. Well you can message mutual matches for free, we can’t see who likes you to know if it’s a mutual match; so it’s basically a gamble if you happen to stumble across each other‘s profiles and like one another.
You can’t review profiles that you’ve liked, and can’t even review your mutual matches. I got a notification of him he’s full match, started to write had to stop, lost the message and now I can’t write to them anymore. Single parents are busy! We’re not always going to have time to write a profile in one sitting or send a message to somebody in one sitting. I understand that this is “a premium service“ $120 all at once for six months is not necessarily in everyone’s budget. Maybe offer at 7 or 14 day free trial to see if we want to pay for those features.

AwfulI literally had the app for one hour before they terminated my account. I got my profile information filled out, I scrolled through a few profiles and added a couple hearts to the ones I liked, and then I went to bed. I was on there for all of maybe 20 minutes. By the next morning when I woke up, I had been logged out, and when I tried to log back in, it wouldn’t let me even though the password was saved, so I hit forgot password, and when I tried to reset my password, it gave me a big red notice telling me that my account has been banned. For what being too ugly? Because I can’t think of anything else I did wrong. I didn’t even have an opportunity to speak to anyone or post more than one profile picture. when I contacted Customer Support, they said that based on their terms of use, they terminated my account because I violated them, but then did not tell me what term of you allegedly violated by signing up for the app and looking at a few peoples pictures and doing absolutely nothing else. don’t waste your time and dang sure don’t give these people your money, what. Expensive and creepy guysI paid the 20 USD to get the full app experience for a week - and if it accomplished anything it is not wanting to find new love in my life. Like so many said in previous reviews as a single parent this app is a bit pricey. My matches were looking for anything but a relationship. I have collectively never met worse guys than on this app. Something is completely wrong on their selection algorithm which should be more than just age, location and kids. You are very limited on how much information you can provide on your profile, or how interests are matched up, and pictures are not verified as compared to other apps. You match because of the picture you like, pretty much like selecting a meal on a restaurant menu. Guys are looking for (bleep) and definitely not for a long term partner/friendship. I have received explicit pictures and messages from pretty much anyone I had more than a two minute conversation with. There is a way to report users, but sometimes it was like a car crash, so bad you couldn’t look away. This is not where it’s atI’ve used a few dating apps and this is by far the worst. That applies to both function and quality of people on it. I have my settings for woman seeking male but would get sent/suggested women occasionally. You can see your likes ( can’t remember if have to upgrade for that) but you can’t filter anything about them, location would be nice. I’m not trying to match with someone across the country. The app is buggy, when you look at a like and yes or no it, it quickly shows you the next then skips it and goes to the one after before you have a chance to actually look at anything for the next person. A premium price for a vast selection of what appears to be similar individualsIt could very well be a reflection of my area. While the selection is extensive, it predominantly consists of individuals with a similar profile—like having the same shirt in different colors. The steep fee to view matches or communicate with them feels like a money grab. As parents, our lives revolve around our children, which is reflected in our profiles. We appreciate connecting on parent-related topics, but this focus leaves little room for sharing more about ourselves, our interests, and what else makes us unique. Terminated my Account with No ExplanationI registered, provided my pictures and other personal information that they asked for, and when I tried to log in the next day, I received an error message that access to my account was blocked by the admins. I reached out to customer support only to receive the below email. “Please know that due to our Terms of Use, your Stir account has been terminated. We believe this action to be in the best interests of our member community. Any new accounts created will be subject to review and will be immediately terminated.” No explanation, no reason why it was terminated and why any new account that I would create (which I definitely won’t after this) would be terminated! I am a legitimate single mom and I provided my own information and pictures. Make sure you cancel your subscriptionThis app didn’t really work for me for multiple reasons, but at this point I don’t care about how functional the app is. When I used the app, it was always trying to find ways to get me to pay MORE to get more content or to see more matches. I just kind of let it go and forgot about it. Well, I woke up this morning with a $40 subscription fee for an app that I don’t even use. You’d think if an app is already collecting so much money, that they wouldn’t try to up sell you every time you open the app.

Stay far away, far away being the operative wordTake the least amount of value you can think of for your money without actually getting robbed. That is Stir. There is not nearly the amount of users as the other platforms such as Match for example (stir is owned by Match) so expect to be offered “matches” 1-2 hours away regardless of the criteria. On a dating app specifically designed for single parents. Expect to be “matched” with people you’ve already chosen to be not a match, 24 hours later and multiple times going forward. Expect to have no possibility of a refund. Do not use this. It’s a money grab. Read fine printI downloaded this and paid for the subscription. I don’t get matched with anyone even though I fiddle with the parameters and can’t choose to look at any other profiles except the ones suggested once a day. There is no options on height or what they are looking for or they will be super far away outside of state in the suggested even though I didn’t choose outside of 90 miles. I tried to cancel from beginning but when I found out how bad it was. The won’t let you cancel or refund and keep taking money. If you click help it takes you to their website of a blank page. Worst customer support, go somewhere else.People were right in their reviews on how horrible customer support is with Match group and its affiliate dating apps. No phone number to call, just by email. How does a brand new account you’re trying to set up get banned, and customer support does not tell you how your account got banned setting it up? Here is the whiplash you can expect from their customer support. Ran into an issue validating my account with my phone number. Contacted customer support, they said I was good to go, and validated my account. Not kidding, 10-15 min later after logging in to finish setting up my account, get kicked out and told to contact customer support. Don’t waste your moneyThe users are questionable, so to find a decent match is difficult. You get new “daily picks” sent to your email. So imagine my surprise when I finally come across a couple of users that I am interested in, then not being able to view them.
I have not been able to see any of the users sent in my daily picks, selecting a profile takes me to view other users to swipe or match…but not any of the 24 daily picks. I contacted customer service and have gone back and forth w/ 5 different people who refused to read my issue, instead they gave the same response of “some times users meet someone and delete their accounts” or telling me to clear my cache, though I have stated in my emails I have done all the typical trouble shooting.

Have to pay to see messagesLots of responses here from the developers claiming they’ve listened and fixed problems. But if they have, I’m not seeing it. After uploading pictures, filling out bio, answering prompts, etc, all likes are blurred out. I have a few messages this morning and only ONE shows the photo and allows me to see what he wrote. And it’s not someone I ‘liked’ so I’m pretty confused as it’s not a match. If I tap the other messages it takes me to the pay options, all of which are spendy. Abysmal filtering & location, full of AI/bot profilesI used this app successfully almost a year ago, and joined again recently when my SO and I unfortunately broke up. Night and day difference, all for the worse. Location filtering doesn’t work at all; I keep getting potential matches from more than 50 miles away, despite my setting being 20. Sometimes more than 200 miles away and/or in Canada! Also, it used to be the case that there was a minimum amount of profile information required before a profile was visible, and that still seems to be the case on my end. But there are now dozens upon dozens of potential matches that have 1 or 2 pictures and little to no information filled out. And then there’s the obvious bot/fake profiles – I have seen so many profiles with duplicate answers to the prompts, it’s infuriating.

Distance issues aren’t a glitch, but a feature purposely designed to force you to buy premium.Go through the reviews and you will see the vast majority of ratings are 1 or two stars with the same complaint: distance. Yet somehow it has a rating of 4.3 stars.
All dating apps are scams designed to force you to pay for expensive monthly subscriptions. Stir is far and away the worst.
Since joining in 2022 there have been times I’ve had upwards of 50 or so likes with only about five or six matches at a time. The only settings I use are a distance of 30 miles (in the middle of a large metropolitan area with a population of about 5 million) and a significantly wide age range of 30–49. Usually within 10 or less swipes the app will EXCLUSIVELY show profiles from hundreds of miles outside of my settings. Not 5, not 50, hundreds yet I still can’t seem to find any new matches. Weird, huh?
THIS IS NOT A GLITCH, IT’S A FEATURE designed extract money by conning its members into paying for a premium subscription. People who already have difficulty finding a partner due to the stigma of having kids; just so you can see your hidden likes. Don’t let these grifters separate you from your money. Bad experience. Bad, bad experience.This is my first time using a dating app. And being a single dad I thought this would be perfect. I was wrong. First of all I had the choice of paying $60 for 3 months or $60 for 6 months. Ok? Not much of a choice there. Went for the 6 months. Then there are add ons. Pay another $60 to message women with free accounts. Pay 10-50 dollars for super likes. Pay extra to be placed as the “top pick”. At the risk of sounding shallow, the ratio of attractive women to non is staggeringly low. Met three attractive women who were in rehab. Went out on a date with a “top pick” who was definitely not. Went out on another date, after two weeks of talking, only to find out she likes dating multiple men. Bad experienceI had install the app after getting the ad on instagram, after filing entire set of questions and comments I did sign up, later part of the day it logged me out and once I try to login, it says Stir has blocked my account. I did raise the ticket but they send me faq page and ask me to read all the reasons which can make the account deactivated , still waiting for the specific reason for them to deactivate my account, I don’t trust them with all my love and info that I put it out on app while signing up. I need to erase my data from there. It’s not right to barred me from my PI data.

What the?!I would NEVER pay $40 for a month to simply pass on people.. and without even being able to see what’s out there first. The app is set up exactly like hinge BUT SO MUCH WORSE. They do not have preference filters other than distance and age. You have to constantly sift through individuals who are majority of African American or Spanish. Algorithms are placed to keep you interested but not fulfill your needsThey’ll set you up with people that match your interest but they’ll almost always be an hour or more away. The reason I’m writing this review is I am an attractive guy and do get a lot of likes but there always super far from where I live. My job is in the technical field that has me traveling all over central fl. I notice I get more likes in the general area of where I live when I’m an hour or so from my house working but when I’m home I never seem to have an option or get a like from people in my area, it uses your location against you. The app is good to keep your attention but not fulfill normal peoples needs in the dating industry. App doesn’t work + freedom of speech is not allowedThe messaging is spotty and flashes on and off. Several members complained about this to me. They also discriminate and censor against anyone who doesn’t hold progressive views and/or mentions God in their profile. Overall, pretty low preforming app in terms of functionality. The dating app Hinge works much more efficiently and effectively without issues of censoring. Also, the app does a TERRIBLE job at their selection and will randomly assign you people who live 2 counties over even after I adjusted the mileage. These were the worst possible matches I’ve ever encountered on any dating app and I live in a pretty heavily populated area that has a lot of young professional singles. Not that greatI had hoped this would be a decent dating app for single parents. It has the potential, but the company is too money grubby. A couple huge issues:
1. You set your distance to say, 25 miles. It keeps showing me people from hundreds of miles away! Nobody is on this app looking for people that far away! And it doesn’t give the option to opt out of that either.
2. If you aren’t a “premium” member, it says you have potential matches. If you pay, and then match with these people a hundred miles away, they either don’t respond or say they never even saw your profile. This shows that the company is intentionally misleading its customers.

Delayed notifications and out of town matchesI thought I would try this app out as it would be nice to meet like minded people that understands being a parent and not just wanting hook ups. Sadly all the people are out of state even with stating your distance in the filters. Then the notifications come in for an incoming message and there is no message there. Then 2 hours later the messages show up. Or it’s the other way around. A message comes in and the notifications pops up hours later. The app asks if you want to talk on the phone or do video chats but then doesn’t have a way to do either within the app leaving you to have to give out your number before you normally would. Glitchy platform, not enough moderationThe platform glitches terribly. Likes that you’ve swiped left on reappear in your likes. When you X or swipe left on someone, it shows the next profile then quickly glitches and goes to a different one without you being able to review the profile. Your likes show on top of your intros and you have to exit the app, sometimes delete and download it again to get your likes and intros straight. There are creepy men with mom fetishes who are openly saying in their bio that their just looking to hook up with “mommies” and “mom doms” which completely removes the safety factor that is advertised for single parents on there. And I have to say, the men on there are the most unattractive men the city has to offer. I have never seen so many ugly people in one place. Meh.I like the concept, but like most dating apps, they don’t want you to find your person because that will take away their income. As a result, the filtering is minimal at best. I wouldn’t mind paying for an app that is worth it. And hey, we are single parents so we don’t have time to read through countless profiles. Spar me by calling the app free unless you do in app purchases. You can see people on here and set up a profile, but nothing after that. Unfair deactivation, stolen membership funds by stir, refuse to return after deactivation!My experience with the stir Single Parents Dating App has been extremely disappointing and frustrating.
I joined the platform with sincere intentions, paid for a premium membership, and followed the rules while trying to make genuine connections. Despite this, my account was suddenly deactivated without any clear reason or explanation ,only a vague message saying that I had violated the terms and conditions. When I reached out to customer support to understand what happened, I was met with silence and generic responses. No specific reason was ever given, and I was not provided any opportunity to appeal or even discuss the situation.
What makes matters worse is that I had paid for premium features, and once my account was deactivated, my access was immediately revoked ,yet no refund was offered or issued. I submitted a request for a refund and was completely ignored. Taking someone’s money, cutting off access without cause, and refusing to provide either an explanation or a refund feels unethical and borderline fraudulent.
It’s unacceptable for a platform to operate with such a lack of transparency and accountability. Users deserve to know why their accounts are being removed, especially when no malicious behavior occurred. At the very least, there should be a proper appeal process ,something every reputable service should offer. Unfortunately,stir has shown no willingness to listen, respond, or take responsibility for its actions.

Locked outI had JUST created this account, and didn’t yet save the password onto my phone. It kicked me out of my account a little over 10 minutes after creating my account. I didn’t go against any regulations, and my profile is completely innocent and kind. I forgot my password, because I didn’t save it yet. I tried to do the reset, and it wouldn’t send to my email. So, once I finally did receive an email, (one out of the multiple times I tried to get it to send one) it wouldn’t confirm it to my number. It kept saying error, as if it wasn’t registered. Ehhhhh. Not for me.Not many people on this app in some locations. So some days when your picks come in it goes across states to bring you options. Which is fine for some but typically speaking if this is a parents based app and you have kids. You aren’t likely to relocate knowing there is a co-parent situation happening.
If someone ends up in the daily “people for you” section and you say “no” they shouldn’t be able to keep liking your profile in return —and sending you multiple messages etc.
The generic answers are annoying. “Here choose 4 answers that everyone will have on their profile.” “Netflix and snacking.” I guarantee 90% of people that have “life goal—retire early” is doing nothing to actually achieve that. It’s giving.. I’m not ready to put in the work. 🚩🚩

I respect the idea of this app but overall I don’t think I would login again until it’s has more traction. Fixed some bugs And delete the pre-loaded answers. We’re parents but that doesn’t mean we are lazy. Effort is attractive.

Truly horrible appThis app is really bad. There are standard questions that they ask you at the beginning but don’t give you a “back” option while setting up to quickly modify. They then pipe these into everyone’s profiles and they’re the least revealing/interesting questions I’ve ever seen. They tell me nothing about a person. But then they show up across all profiles and often that’s the only info people have up. There is no prompt to complete your open-ended profile piece.
Further the people in the apps are barely even located in my area and I live in Brooklyn! Someone from Pennsylvania showed up in my swiping. They also all seem lowkey republican - one of the only dudes who was remotely handsome had an anti mask statement in his profile lol pass. Structure of app experienceI love the idea of this dating app. It’s hard for single parents to date and meet. The app itself isn’t too good compared to other apps. They push the purchasing option on you too much. I’ll get a notification that someone messaged me or liked me and when I open the app it won’t let me see it unless I pay for subscription. Then after you match with someone and can message for free suddenly their profile will disappear and it will say user not found. I could still message the person but I couldn’t see their profile, luckily we both decided to talk off the app in fear we would lose each other on the app.

BANNED FOR NO REASON - THE WORST EVERI joined the app and spent about two hours total on the platform setting up my profile, subscribing and browsing a bit. The next day I tried logging on and noticed I was banned. I contacted customer care, submitted a ban appeal and was told that I violated their Terms and Conditions or their Community Guidelines and their decision is final (not sure how I did that by just setting up my profile and subscribing in less that two hours). Catfish CityI really wanted this app to work for me as it can be challenging for parents to find connections. Almost immediately, I matched with someone. The conversations were pretty normal, then they suggested texting, so I agreed. We talked about getting together for a date. When I started asking more personal questions i.e. where they worked, answers got vague. So I asked for a zoom call and they went silent. I blocked them and reported them. This app seems to do nothing for facial verification, but does have phone number verification? That doesn’t seem to do anything. Lesson learned. My other issue is that I live in a pretty small state, so I ran out of people pretty quickly, then it suggested women anywhere between 100 and 500 miles away. Waste of timeThe only benefit this app has over others is the option to filter out people who don’t have kids. But honestly, it’s not even much of a benefit… like at all. What a joke! DO-NOT REGISTER or create an account.I just went through an extremely nasty divorce. This was my first step to try to get out there and meet new people. Thus I created a account, and was actually my first online account - ever! (I'm my forties)
I attached some photographs and started to review some members.
I woke up the next morning and tried to log-on. And got a message that I was banned from Stir. I was absolutely confused and could not understand what happened.
I contacted them and I had to “appeal” the ban. I had no contact with any other members and literally just created the account!
Please save yourself the hassle and do NOT download the site. I was beyond frustrated, as this was the first time I put myself out there and it was an absolute disaster.
I contacted stir to appeal the ban. They just sent me a hyperlink with thousands of reasons why I could have banned. They have not disclosed why, and they have not answered my questions if my photos and confidential details are deleted.
Please, I usually never write reviews, but stay away from this company! It’s a joke and highly unprofessional.
