Welcome! You are a short helicopter ride away from becoming one of the most celebrated and admired city mayors of all time.
This is Cityscapes: Sim Builder! A brand new, sustainable take on classic city building games, and brought to you by veteran sim builders.
::::: A RICH CITY BUILDING EXPERIENCE
- Cityscapes will get you thinking. As Mayor you need to make meaningful decisions and build carefully thought out systems, so as to protect the health and happiness of your citizens.
- Citizens have basic needs of course - they need housing, jobs and shops, and a means to travel between them.
- Distance matters - industry and road traffic create pollution. It is important to think sustainably when building transportation networks.
- Citizens need utilities - power, clean water and garbage collection.
- And as their Mayor, you’ll quickly need to start strategizing about policing, education, fire safety and medical care. As your citizens develop more complex needs you’ll have to plan how to provide tranquil green spaces for them to unwind in.
- Have you got what it takes to make the right choices to develop a thriving metropolis?
::::: CITY PASS
- The City Pass is a monthly event that enables you to earn exclusive parks, buildings, landmarks and other special items. You progress in the pass by completing daily and weekly tasks.
::::: UNLOCKS
- Raise your player level and unlock more cities to build in a variety of rich biomes.
- Get to unlock land parcels and discover natural curiosities hidden in the landscape. You can even build famous architectural landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty, giving your city indomitable style and instant attractiveness.
::::: IMAGINATION
- Stunning 3D architecture and vistas will captivate your imagination as you watch your city grow. Collect diverse building blueprints approved for your unique city and be awed by the endless design possibilities.
::::: MEET
- Meet Anne Council who runs the city challenges but beware of May Grede CEO whose middle name is ‘Sabotage’. Friendly advisors such as Paula Powers and Frankie Flint are always there to help.
- And check in on your citizens who will keep you in the know with what life is like in your city. They will come to you with problems and make suggestions as to how to solve them. Be sure to listen to them, every citizen wants to feel heard.
::::: SUSTAINABILITY
- Choice matters when building a city of the future, one that is profitable, thriving and fully sustainable. Strategize about both environmental and social sustainability; reduce waste and pollution whilst also managing business impacts, both positive and negative on your citizens. Design cities in which your citizens want to live, happy and healthy side by side and feel as proud and fulfilled as they are!

Cityscapes: Sim Builder Positive Reviews
I’ve been looking for this for a long timeThere’s never been another version of SimCity since the first one (in the early ‘90s), nor any similar game, that has felt like a proper city builder to me. Finally, here’s a game that takes that original concept and improves on it without destroying it. The essential game is just about maintaining the balance between residential, commercial, and industrial zones. Sound easy? It’s not. Every zone you place is constantly changing, within itself and in response to changes in the environment. The result is the ultimate flow game - engrossing, challenging, creative. You can set yourself little side goals - making your city beautiful, or making sure every citizen has access to education, or (yeah, I see you) spreading as much misery as possible. But if you aren’t paying attention to how the 3 big numbers - citizens, shoppers, and workers - fit in with your plans, nothing else is going to work the way that you want it to. There are some bugs at this time that I would like to see fixed. In particular, I prefer to play exclusively with a game controller and they’ve got a ways to go with that. Trying to remember whether it’s B or RT to close a window has been major breaking point in aforementioned flow. (It should always be B for consistency with other games.) But only say things like that because I care. :-).Version: 1.3.80
Love this game, but…I really love this game. I was just about to cancel my Apple Arcade subscription when I found this new releases game, but now I decided to renew my subscription. I’ve been hoping to have this kind of game on iPad for a long time. If you ask me, I’d seen it’s much more fun than mobile sim city build it. Thank you very much, the develop team! However, there are a few bugs, and I really need these to be fixed. First of all, this game depends to much on the citizen satisfaction policy, I get to do whatever they want immediately, build or upgrade a building, etc, to bring up the number. For no good reason, they are not satisfied when they don’t get a job immediately, and this lowered the number. I mean, even in the real world, not everyone can get a job. Besides, some people are loaded, and they don’t need a job! I’m here to have fun, but these citizens are mean and easily outraged. Please slow down! Secondly, some tasks required me to bring up the education supply or decrease the pollution level, but building new schools and gardens doesn’t work. Thirdly, I don’t understand the “increase the commuters number” task. What do I do? I never succeed in accomplishing this task. If you want me to build new houses or bus stops, please just say it. Buy the way, it doesn’t work. Fourthly, at level 79, I still can’t expand my territory to the seashore, why? Fifthly, there are a lot of green arrows upon my buildings, but the system doesn’t allow me to merge the buildings because I don’t have enough buildings at their highest level. Please give a detailed illustration on the merge policy or remove the green arrows, they are annoying..Version: 1.0.2
Not a Mobile Sim City Build-it DupeI subscribed to Arcade assuming Cityscapes was a more affordable option to Sim City Build-it which requires obscene amounts of funds from users seeking to acquire unique buildings and landscaping. After playing, it is clear Cityscapes has a long way to go. :( Build-it offers much better looking buildings and 3d renderings of your city and generally allows users to play at their own pace for regular buildings. Both games require busy work. Buildit requires users to manufacture items to earn funds to build and perform tasks for keys, but the user gets to determine the pace and layout with minimal limitations. In contrast, I found Cityscapes bewildering and unintuitive with its constant annoying notifications requiring the user to build and upgrade homes, schools, stores, manufacturers, utilities, etc. I felt like a lemming following one order after another without the opportunity to evaluate progress at my own pace and modify the layout as I wish with clearly set parameters. Build-it indicates how much utilities and services are required beforehand so I can design without being pestered by notifications. I genuinely hope Arcade will eventually offer a proper Build-it dupe - with better caliber graphics, clear notice of build requirements, offers users more control over the final look without constant in-game pestering. Clearly, there is a huge market of Build-it players tired of getting gauged by EA like me that will gladly even pay a reasonable amount for a genuine dupe..Version: 1.2.3
City WipedI really don’t give reviews, but I liked this game so much, I figured I should. I’ve been playing the game for a couple of weeks and have been left disappointed by a couple of things. First, the game doesn’t sync to my iPad. I see the same Game Center profile and my achievements, but my city never syncs up. Secondly, and most importantly, my city was wiped from my phone this morning. I was just playing last night and everything seemed fine. This morning I go to open it and find that whole landscape is blank and everything I unlocked like parks and utility buildings, were all reset and greyed out. I noticed that there was a strange lag on a black screen when opening today, which has never happened before. I had to close and reopen the app so it could load. When I hit play, I also noticed that it asked me to confirm my city name, but it hadn’t changed so I didn’t think too much of it. I’m not sure how the game master reset like that, but it’s very disheartening to work on building a city and having all your progress wiped out of nowhere. Not sure if I’ll keep playing, maybe on a different map so I don’t feel like I lost so much. Just figured I’d let you guys know, because the game is worth every bit of 5 stars, just not when I lose my progress on a random Monday morning. If I figured out how to get my city back, I’ll update the review. Thanks for reading my TED Talk :/.Version: 1.3.70
Very good city simThis reminds me of SimCity 3 and is almost as good. The simulation is decently complex, with the familiar mix of zoning, traffic, pollution, power, city services, education, and water. It runs smoothly on my iPad and the graphics are enjoyable. The “sims” build out their city as long as they are content and the simulation moves fast enough that I almost never had to wait for cash. The simulation makes sense and is nicely responsive to city design. Mix zoning, build parks, and don’t make people drive far and the city grows nicely. I love the famous buildings and special zones. The notable exception is water, which is a bit frustrating. Buildings will go dry despite being connected and in the indicated range of a pump with capacity. Perhaps there is a trick to water but it was not in the tutorial. The interaction between types of schools could use clarification as well. That said, this is a great city sim. Devs seem to read these reviews, which is awesome, so I’ll offer some detailed feedback from the perspective of a long time Sim City player. The main thing I’d like to see is easier ways to see the city services. In Sim City zoning mode (green, blue, and yellow for building types) fire, police, parks, and schools were super easy to see. It also stays toggled on until it’s turned off. In this game, it’s constant tapping between modes to find services, and buildings like 5/5 upgraded volunteer fire departments are almost invisible. Happiness would benefit from being a toggle too, maybe along with an icon to show what’s amiss. Instead I have to tapI have to tap a building, the game jumps me to the building, and happiness mode turns off. Also if there’s a way to toggle the upgrade arrows off to make tiny parks and recycle bins easier to move I didn’t find it. Anyway this is a great game and I do recommend it..Version: 1.2.5
BEST GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!The moment I started playing this game I knew I was not going to be able to stop playing it. Boy was I right. Within an hour of playing this game, I felt the satisfaction of running a town even though I am not even close to that age yet. The city looks beautiful at night when all of the lights on the buildings come on. The game is very guiding if you read the directions and hints it gives you. It gives you signs if any houses are running low on anything like water or electricity. The game gives you all of the money you need to build buildings. I personally love the satisfaction of clicking a couple of buttons and poof! whatever building(s) you want gone will disappear. I would recommend this game for any other fifth grade students looking for an amusing, guiding game to keep them busy for a while but this game can be played by absolutely anyone looking for a good game. This game is so awesome and gives me the feeling of being the boss of a whole town. Hope you enjoy this game as much as I do! Miss fifth grader.Version: 1.3.70
Love this game it does have two things I want fixedI love this game I play every day it’s amazing okay first thing is it kicks me out I play on iPad and after a certain time it crashes and kicks me out and I have to start over and lose builds I just bought using the v coins. Second thing is I have more then enough room but the dotted lines to place more buildings but they don’t let you I guess because it to to close personal I feel like the dotted lines around the map limits the game it should have at least one map that has unlimited space to make the city big because after some time you want to start moving things around but you can’t because there is no space to place an item you would have to trash it to make room which is another thing you should put an option if you want to move things to have a storage in the edit mode ?? Overall, I love the game.Version: 1.1.1
Abandoned?!Residential and commercial buildings can become abandoned in this game, and you must do something to fix it or soon the game will be over. I have been playing this game since it came out and it appears the developers have basically abandoned it. Bugs exist in the game that have been there for literally years. Some of these bugs were not there originally, but were included when trying to fix something else. For example, click throughs, where the building behind the button you are clicking also gets selected, was not an original bug, but was induced after something else was fixed. It has never been fixed and is very annoying as the city area fills up with buildings. It seems the developers have run out of some combination of money and interest. Very few, if any, new things have been added in the last couple of years. This is too bad, because it is a much better game than Sim City, which I used to play many years ago. I rate this game as only 3 stars because of these unfixed bugs..Version: 1.3.80
GreatI adore this game. It’s a great game to pass time or a game you can play for a solid amount of time. I will say, however, that the building merge system is a bit confusing. I may have accidentally skipped past the part that explains it, though. It would be great if we could quick-build on merged zones. For instance, say I use a building as fuel for another building’s merge. When I go back to the city, there is a spot where the (fuel) building used to be. It’d be awesome if we could just tap that zone and have it rebuild the building that was there. It can be a tad annoying to have to play around with building placement constantly. I think implementing an auto-build feature would make it a lot smoother. Especially for buildings that sit in weird sections like tight corners or odd shaped roads. Just my two cents! As a developer myself, I can understand the hard work that went into this lovely game..Version: 1.2.1
Love city-builders, but this game misses the mark. No save systemI’m a longtime fan of city-building simulation games. I grew up on SimCity and put in serious time with Cities: Skylines 1 and 2. So I know the ins and outs of the genre, and I understand the limitations that come with running a game on different platforms. But there are some things that are just inexcusable—like not being able to save your progress. At first, I thought maybe I hadn’t advanced far enough to unlock saving. I kept grinding, playing through levels on my Apple TV with a game controller. But after hours of progress—making it all the way to levels 22, 23, 24—the game suddenly crashed. When I reopened it, everything was gone. Back to square one. That was the dealbreaker for me. This isn’t happening on outdated hardware either. I’m running a 4K Apple TV with plenty of storage and the latest updates. This device runs other Apple Arcade titles and even console-level games just fine. Yet Cityscapes not only crashes, but the graphics also look blocky and dated when you zoom in. Normally, I could forgive that—but without a save system, it makes the whole experience frustrating and, honestly, unplayable. If there was a reliable way to save progress, I could overlook the crashes and the graphics. But without it, the whole experience feels pointless. No one wants to lose hours of gameplay in 2025 because there’s no save option. Until the developers address this, Cityscapes is unplayable for me. That’s why I’m leaving two stars..Version: 1.3.80
LOVE this game, but…I love this game, and the fact it’s on Apple Arcade with no in-game purchases is amazing! Graphics are smooth, and not to mention, the cities are beautiful and look so life-like! I did want to report there’s a bug going around. Any time there’s a goal on the left hand side of the screen (say, it says to build 15 buildings). I build those buildings, and the count never goes on, making me lose the goal. Or, it says to increase education or reduce pollution. It’s gotten to the point where I don’t want to play until these issues are fixed. I earn money to build more buildings and take care of my city by doing those goals. I really hope they can be fixed SOON so I can get back to the game! Thanks so much! Giving you 5 stars because bugs happen to every game (not your fault). I know you guys care and are working hard to make things better!.Version: 1.0.2
Gimme zoom!I’m changing my initial review as some of the bugs are squashed and some other complaints were my own misunderstanding. I’m adding a star for improvements. We STILL need more zooming out like Christopher Walken needs more cowbell, though! I’m still struggling with the “needs more” balance. I had a near perfect balance in a level 70 city and still got one house complaining that I was short 100 jobs. It seems like these should scaled on a percent basis. I’m also having a resurgence of having people complain about things I DO have. I have workplaces without jobs and jobs without workers. Wishlist: I’d like some kind of alert I’m about to get hit with unhappiness. It takes a lot to manage a huge city and check everything without zoom. I wish it was easier to see the radius a building affects. That caused a lot of my initial confusion. When you place the giant bus depot it looks like the area it affects is tiny but is actually quite large..Version: 1.0.2
This game has a lot to offer, but…I love this game, honestly, but but it has a few frustrating bugs and slight annoyances that brings my rating down to 4 stars. Starting with the pros, this game is just really fun, especially if you like this genre. It is decently detailed and has plenty if maps and hours of gameplay. You can do whatever you want. Because this game is part of Apple Arcade, there are no ads. Although, it does have its own currency and something called a “City Pass” but it isn’t in your face unlike games like Subway Surfers, if you know what I mean. Now onto the cons, it has a couple of bugs. One of the bugs I came across is when you place down a building it sometimes pretends the building isn’t there, making it have no effect. I also have some nit-picky cons about this game, including how the game restarts if you leave our phone off for long enough and the unrealistic pipelines and electricity. If also Is quite the battery eater, as on my phone, it takes up about 15-20 percent of the battery every 45-60 minutes. I haven’t tested the game on low settings though, but I imagine it would be a bit lower. Overall, I think this is a good game, but it has room for improvement. The expansiveness is almost overwhelming, but some small inconveniences lead me to the rating of 4 stars. I hope this game improves over time to be one of the best city builders on the App Store..Version: 1.0.3
Great little game!I am addicted to this game! I echo the praise and relief felt about having such a smooth and entertaining game without any in-app purchases or ads. Also as mentioned, a lot of the bugs complained about in older reviews have been squashed. Some thoughts: I LOVE the in game soundtrack and want more. When will it be on Apple Music? Also, I would love to be directed to a walkthrough or Q&A with the developers. I seem to discover a fun new thing about the game every day and would love some expert tips. Plus, a lot of the complaints I’m seeing about perceived bugs do seem to come from misunderstandings about how certain features work. So please just create a website or wiki or something that everybody can finally learn how the job-pop-shopping ratios work. (Personally, I use playgrounds and parking lots to make adjustments. But I’ve recently noticed parking lots affect commuting, so now I’m rethinking my approach.) I would like to echo some confusion about always knowing the reach of building effects within a block or neighborhood. I find using the red and green dashed lines along the roads to be somewhat helpful when placing homes, factories and shops, but the lines disappear beneath the buildings. Please pop those lines to the top layer and maybe reduce the opacity on the lines so we can still see the buildings. Also, the green box around civic buildings doesn’t always seem to show up? Yes, please allow for more zoom out if possible. Lastly, the game does kind of kill my iPhone 13 battery and make my MacBook Air sound like a burning hot airplane engine. So any improvements there also would be appreciated..Version: 1.2.0
I truly did enjoy this game, BUT one thing…Overall, having no in app purchases/being swamped in ads and making it impossible to do one single step before having to watch 10 ads, it’s been a little buggy. I ended up deleting the game over the bugs because it made it frustrating and caused me to lose the challenges given. It would list certain challenges and I would do them right away plus a little extra to spiff each challenge up and it wouldn’t count towards any of the goals/challenges…. I would also improve the electrical system as far as reach and power consumption and it would still say that they had no power and such. Idk. Over all it was a good game and one that was entertaining up until the bugs began lol. If these were corrected, I believe it would be one of the best..Version: 1.0.4
I love itIf you like Cites Skylines, Sim City, RCT, Caesar,etc. you will absolutely enjoy this game. The maps can get really big, which I love, but we don’t have a mini map so it can be hard to navigate at times. I’d also like to have some sort of indication when something is wrong. For example, I was messing around upgrading a bunch of stuff in one area then I swipe around and there’s like and entire section of abandoned houses because I didn’t put in enough water. Don’t get t me wrong, I can see why you wouldn’t have notifications for that, but if there were like red dots on a mini map that would be helpful I think. Idk maybe that’s too much assistance for the player because it is very fun as is, but I’ve definitely looked for a mini map in the settings a couple of times..Version: 1.0.2
No Offline Mode is a missed opportunityI have to say this is probably the most fun throwback to Sim City I have ever played. It is bright, keeps you interacting, let’s you establish yourself before resources and things become a balancing act. Easy fund earning. A fair and enjoyable way to earn the special currency to unlock landmarks and buy extra special buildings every day. Literally only complaint I have is there is no offline mode. Which is not mentioned in the game info afaik ahead of time. I got to find out when I had a long waiting room visit lol. This is a huge disappointment. I really hope they come out with an offline mode so I am not limited by connectivity. Being in the middle of playing on a public wifi connection while enjoying a morning coffee, and having the game suddenly kick you into a never ending load screen is frustrating..Version: 1.0.3
Glitchy - Lacking in InstructionsAfter being kicked out of the game for the tenth time maybe, I decided it’s time to leave a review. Not sure why I’m having issues, maybe it’s the “last update” like everyone wants to blame things on, but it was one too many. I don’t have a memory problem, I regularly turn off my iPad when not I use, etc, etc… First off, my biggest pet peeve is the lack of information in the game. As you progress through it things will happen and a little window will pop up with the meaning of what you did, or little info on an occurrence in the city, but the that will be the LAST time you see that information. If you click on Help “?” you have to go to their website for it and there’s very little there. What you really need to do is join their Discord group for help. I don’t have to do that for other games, why this one? TBH I’m not sure if that’s a thing with games these days, to make you go somewhere else for help, but I’m not a fan of it. Overall, building my cities has been challenging, and I have no problem with that, it’s a process, I get it. I think I have 8 cities that I’ve started, but finding help has been more challenging. At one point I did send a message via their website and I got a reply that had nothing to do with my question. 🤦♀️ A game should be fun, this game is meh..Version: 1.2.2
Some areas to improve, but overall, worth a month or two of your time and moneyThis game is very close to being the sole reason I keep my monthly subscription to Apple Arcade. There is a but. Even great games have areas of opportunity for improvement. The main issue after playing for a while: I OUTGROW my cities. The object of the game is essentially to GROW, but eventually it becomes tedious navigating from one side of the city to the other because there is NO ZOOM OUT FEATURE. It may not seem like a big deal; and it isn’t at first. But eventually, this quickly begins to, literally, wear me out to the point I need to stop playing—maybe I just have weak biceps. All the dragging and pinching the screen gets old, fast. Developers, great job. But let’s work on the zoom, can we? Pretty please? Just in general, focus on minimizing the steps to accomplish a task or group of actions. I have to push A LOT OF BUTTONS. If you’re still reading, you must be interested enough to stick around while I give an example of all this button pushing. Say for example, I want to see all areas of crime. I click on the police icon, and the map switches to crime mode. Great so far. I can see 3 areas of crime on my map—I can’t zoom out to see them all at once, but I can still clearly see where the bad guys are. The areas are red and green. But I can’t fix them all at once in ‘crime view’. As soon as I select a police station to drag-and-drop into a red crime area, the map toggles back to ‘normal’ view. I want to keep it in crime view until I decide to exit out. Some other minor things like the roads grid doesn’t align well with commercial and residential zones, so there is always this extra space between zones. Overall, I’d say Cityscapes is a much needed addition to the iOS family and tons of relaxing fun. I love that it’s not designed as a pay-to-play. To fans of SIM CITY, you’ll love it for a couple months and then grow bored from your cities monotonous success and your inability to navigate the board fast enough and see your beautiful city from way up high in the sky! Also, no sign of earthquakes, tornadoes, or Godzilla..Version: 1.0.4
Frustrating bugs :(I love sims! I have really enjoyed playing this game until my city gets large and the buildings no longer register that I have adequate trash pickup or enough electricity. It becomes so frustrating because I currently have buildings that have trash all in front of them when my trash meter says it has room for SEVERAL thousand more. Then my buildings level down ): or my factories will level down when they need more workers, after I build 8 of the biggest buildings. These bugs make me want to delete the game all together. But I enjoy the gameplay to pass time. I just wish these things could be fixed and then it would be a 10/10 game..Version: 1.1.1
Late NightThe amount of times I get off is insane! I’ve never been one to make reviews because I hate complaining on a team or companies hard work. I have spent way too many late nights playing this came. I love almost everything about it. I’ve updated, will still crash and kick me out, I get so frustrated. If I win a badge, it will crash. I do wish there was more variety in the buildings. I would love to see a trailer park, 5th ward, country club areas. It would also be neat to have certain zones, like with your downtown area have levels of Taxes. Then with the taxes being able to buy landmarks, state park even, theme park for that city. I do like that the few animations on certain landmarks or buildings. Even with my suggestions, I would like to say all the hard work has not gone unnoticed..Version: 1.0.3
Easy on the tutorialI haven’t really played this yet because I’m short on time when I pull it up and I get what feel like endless unskippable explanations for gameplay. I get frustrated and close it. City games are complex, but you’re essentially selling a sandbox that people just want to jump into. Allowing users to skip in favor of jumping right in with a more streamlined, show rather than tell option feels like it would be better. Basically I just don’t like the talking head popping up to interrupt me; I’ve been playing city games since the original Simcity, I don’t need it explained… until I need it explained and ask for help. I’ll update if I ever make it past the tutorial 😅 I also just noticed you can’t play offline, which means I can’t play it. New York subways don’t have Wi-Fi. 😬.Version: 1.1.1
Too many bugsToo many bugs to enjoy. Every time one reopens the map, there’s a different population and shopping and job capacity. Buildings that expand range, for example school bus yard or ambulance service, or capacity, for example teaching colleges, asphalt parks, residential parks, or even districts, tend not to work properly or are bugged, especially when stacked. Another example is that range buildings like the ambulance service or school bus yard will actually say “water range increased” when placed, even though they have nothing to do with water range. These are issues that should have been fixed long ago. I also agree with some other reviews that the game doesn’t present much of a challenge—it’s very easy to meet demands and upgrade population. The later game actually gets easier rather than harder as tax revenue levels up quickly..Version: 1.1.1
Amazing Game but just one issue!I loved this game as soon as I installed it! I enjoy Story Mode and progressing through it by keeping the people in your city happy, ensuring they have enough water and jobs available and etc. I also love the free awards and pass that comes with Apple Arcade, which makes it much more enjoyable. The only issue thats bothering me is that if you don’t like how your city looks in any Story Mode chapter, you can’t just restart. You have to manually bulldoze all the buildings and roads individually which gets really annoying, especially when you are trying to improve it. Otherwise, I’m really enjoying this game and hope a reset option for individual chapters becomes a feature so players can rework their cities..Version: 1.3.91
Love the game but…..Love this game but I find it highly irritating that it will force close randomly. Sometimes after I spent 20 min working in a section I created and it closes itself and when I open it back up I have to start over. I have in the past uninstalled and reinstalled game thinking that would fix the issue but it hasn’t. Even cleared memory on the iPad I play on and still the same force closing issues. Turned down the graphics in the settings even……. Would love to play the game more often but I’m irritated at the constant force closing..Version: 1.2.92
Super fun !!Finally a fun city builder game that isn’t trapped behind the EA pay wall! My ONLY issue is how hot my phone and iPad get while playing. I have pro models of both devices and, although not the latest versions, they are only one and two years old respectively. My phone especially gets to hot to even hold while playing. With it being summer time right now you can forget playing this by the pool, your device will over heat. And for that I give it 4 stars instead of 5. I was seriously considering canceling my Apple Arcade subscription all together before I found this game and despite the heat factor, I’ve played almost none stop for days! Wonderful game just needs some slight tweaks on the bad end to make sure it’s not frying phone lol..Version: 1.0.4
Entertaining but needs support for longevityI really enjoy the game and 80% is super intuitive and less glitchy since the last update. Fun times and I always enjoy starting a new map. There are however some weird scenarios that have no explanation/support to get a move on. For example, how to merge epic buildings? I can unlock them with in game earned cash, but never rank them? Theoretically I can, they’re eligible for merging, but nothing in game play explains how besides “you need more buildings!” “Ok, but how many, which type?” No rules online anywhere to really explain some mechanics, so each map peaks at like level 38 before I get bored. Once I work through each scenario I’ll probably drop..Version: 1.0.2
Good city sim for touch screensI like this game a lot, especially early on. It doesn’t overwhelm you with information and alerts. It still provides you with enough information to make satisfying progress in the game. I played cities in the first three environments and they offer enough differences to be worth trying. My problem with the game is that when you have unlocked many of the cool building blocks, there is so much routine maintenance to do in your city, that you don’t get time to take advantage of the things you’ve unlocked. I think this game would benefit from some automations of mechanics like police and fire coverage so that there are fewer interruptions during the later phase of the game. I’m not sure, of course. I also tried this on Apple TV with a PS5 controller (in addition to iPad and iPhone) and it had some issues where highlighted items would not un-highlight when you moved the pointer away from them. Also, the control scheme is basically a virtual mouse and is not like playing a PS5 or XBox game. This gets tiring and therefore isn’t fun on Apple TV. The iPad and iPhone versions work well..Version: 1.0.4
Decent, but too repetitiveI like aspects of this game, and appreciate the efforts to improve it, but I find that behind the cosmetic differences, game play is too repetitive between levels. How about at least making the residential buildings look different by locale, and offering the ability to add level-specific points of interest? The daily and weekly challenges are also very repetitive and deletion of points of interest come up too often, especially given that you cannot replace them. Game play is focused upon growth, and between that and constraints on building options, other than as forced by the map, cities end up looking very much alike..Version: 1.2.3
Great game, but needs some tweaksA ton of fun!! Need to be able to zoom out further though, so I don’t miss the request bubbles as my town gets larger, and so I can see the full coverage area of the building I am placing, or locate the areas requiring more utilities. It would also be nice to have hospitals, fire stations, and police stations clearly marked (like an H on top of hospitals, etc) so they are easier to locate and upgrade. Also, in the mode where you can check the utilities and place new buildings, when I do an upgrade it should default back to the build mode, instead of forcing me out of it and making me click back into it every time..Version: 1.0.2
Great Sim game - needs a little work stillThe best city building game I’ve played in ages. Lots of interesting details about buildings and how the city is performing without the game being so complex it feels like work. There are a few that need to be tweaked. Font size for some information is really small and can’t be adjusted, even by making adjustments through settings on the accessibility menu for my entire phone. Building effect radius isn’t displayed, so there is more selecting a building and guessing where to place the next one than I would like. The ability to simply move buildings for free keeps it from being too much of a problem..Version: 1.0.2
Great by Crashes Every 5 MinutesI’ve played this game for a few years. It’s honestly incredibly well designed. I remember I deleted it because it was crashing and virtually unplayable, and I hoped that if I ever came across it again it would be fixed. Fast forward to a few weeks ago. I redownloaded and began to have a ton of fun again, playing it for a few hours a day. Then it started happening again. I can’t play campaign without it crashing every 5 minutes, losing the progress I made. I’ve tried deleting and redownloading as well as starting the campaign over again (losing 30+ levels), and its still happening. Update: I installed the update and the issue continues..Version: 1.3.00
Love it, but I could love it even more!This game has taken over my life. I play it may more often than I should. Which is a good thing really! My mind can relax and enjoy me time. The only thing that I have issues with is how much the game crashes. And when it crashes, if you are in pause mode, you lose any changes you made. I make a lot of changes frequently and hate that I have to do it all over again. And as many others mentioned, I wish the zoom could go out more. Hard to keep up when you have a big city. I feel like some areas get neglected. Other than that, this game is FANTASTIC! I can’t wait to see what’s to come..Version: 1.0.4
Fixed, thank you! (Suddenly unplayable. Crashing.)Updated review due to fix. :) Thanks for the quick update! Game playing again. —- FYI, the game is suddenly crashing more that’s its playing. I’ve submitted reports through the app, but am going to stop playing now until the next update. Currently can’t play even a minutes before it crashes. Sometimes is frozen upon loading game, have to hard close it. I’ll rewrite the review when crashing stops. Thx for making a user friendly version of this. I enjoy it when it’s working..Version: 1.2.51
So Fun but BuggyI love this game! But there are still lots of bugs to work out. One is that during a trial your city can be at 100 approval rating with zero issues, and then suddenly the failure screen pops up and says your score dropped to zero and you lost. Another is some buildings will always say they need water or jobs or waste disposal and cannot be satisfied. A third is often windmills think they’re not connected to a road and have to be deleted - and if two windmills are next to each other only one really counts for increasing electricity. There are more but I am going to keep playing and hopefully they are fixed!.Version: 1.0.3
Great Game, but…I just downloaded this game not too long ago and it is the most fun I’ve had on a mobile game in a long time! It definitely keeps me busy! I just want to say that they really did do an amazing job with this game. If I had to choose between Cityscapes & SimCity, it would be Cityscapes. But I was getting pretty far in my first world with a population of 70k+ people and then it just vanishes. I was pretty disappointed after putting a substantial amount of time on it. I want to start on another world but I’m just afraid of it happening again. Whatever the issue is, please fix it, and hopefully I can somehow get my world back..Version: 1.2.70
Love this game butLove this game so much! Addictive! But sometimes stuff doesn’t show up, like sometimes when I go to police stations, not all of them pop up and they are hard to find. Also upgrade arrows on the same page, sometimes one or two of them won’t show randomly. Also with there was a simply mode to make it easier to see my map, I can’t tell where anything is because there are so many buildings. I understand the design is part of the game and really cool, just a little overwhelming sometimes to get an overview of my city!.Version: 1.2.2
SimCity Reimagined: I Love It!Let’s be honest. Most all of us played SimCity back in the day, and we pretty much loved it. But as EA is wont to do, they bought it and ruined everything. It’s now just a freemium mess, but thank goodness we have Cityscapes. This game is the current day equivalent of what SimCity should have been. It’s fully featured, well maintained, and most of all, FUN! It has a place on every Apple device I have for a reason. If you wish you could play the modern equivalent of SimCity without all the IAP garbage and general awfulness EA brings to everything it owns, this is it!.Version: 1.3.70
Fun… but the crashing gets oldChange all of the graphics to the absolute lowest settings and the crashing will stop. Can’t enjoy the little things, but can at least enjoy a good game on mobile. One of the games that attracted me to Apple Arcade. Smooth gameplay for the first few worlds. Then the constant crashing begins….. And it is absolutely terrible. I have redownloaded this game about 5 times over the last 7 months, for absolutely no reason. Nothing has updated or changed to make a difference. Not like I have an old IPhone either 🤷♀️ it’s an absolute shame that the crashing is so consistent, otherwise it would be an amazing experience..Version: 1.3.91
Great!Really love the game. Very well done! My favorite city builder game (by far) on iPhone..Version: 1.0.2
The bestThe best, fantastic, most wonderful game!.Version: 1.0.2
This game is cool but:I cannot delete roads..Version: 1.2.70
This game is so calmingThis game is so calming and relaxing.Version: 1.3.91
Some problems to fixAt first sight, the game looks great. But I can’t pass the first request, I can see the cars moving but I can’t do anything. The game is not responding, I tried to restart the game but same problem.Version: 1.0.2
I love it, but one thingI love this game more than any game I have at first I did not know how to play now I know how to play, but can you like make your own character in this please please I beg you developer please do this. Thank you..Version: 1.3.80
Good game but the roads suckI like this game so far but there should be more flexibility to the road making as I want to put homes back to back and have roads attached to the front of the homes but the roads won’t allow that which wastes a bunch of space..Version: 1.3.91
CoolMore building please!.Version: 1.3.70
Dean likes itThe first thing I thought was nice is that you can designed if you want to play the tutorial or not.also no adds and it is free.and there is so many different builds and different places you can go.Version: 1.3.40
Great! (With some space for improvement)This game is surprisingly addictive and fun! It is reminiscent of Cities Skylines but has many differences. The pros are that the game is pretty, the little story pop ups are good and the gameplay is ridiculously addictive. (Good luck finding a stopping point other than your phone or tablet battery dying!) The cons are that I think it could use some polishing and some quality of life improvements. For example, the camera controls and zoom level are nowhere near good enough for what you need to do in game. It works, but it’s a constant fight. The merging of buildings has the potential to be a super fun mechanic, but it becomes a hindrance with always having to tap multiple menus to get the merges done. Also, the shop is a little weird… I’m not even entirely sure what I’m buying? It’s not really explained. I guess you buy a singular building for one singular file at a time, vs an unlock for every city..? I think this is more a detriment than anything else because now I don’t want to use my buildings. None of that will stop me playing outright for sure. I might get annoyed at time but I still highly recommend this game!.Version: 1.3.70
Decent City Simulator, but patronizingI find the amount of “guidance” given is excessive and annoying to the point of patronizing..Version: 1.3.50
Better than the Sim City versionI accidentally downloaded this thinking it was Sim City and I like this a lot more. There’s no wait time for resources or having to check in on the game every hour. You can play without wifi and it’s pretty easy. One thing I would change is being able to keep the colours the same when you add a clone building. One thing I’d add is being able to zoom in more! Especially on iPhone, the buildings are so tiny on the screen. I like to look at all the map details zoomed in, too..Version: 1.3.40
This game funSo I say this game fun . I wish you would be able to connect the city’s by airport in other builds like for trading and other stuff selling electricity . To our save game . It is really fun game and love it . Love to walk around the city as a person or ride the bus and . But really good to say it fun game and never dull..Version: 1.2.92
目前最好玩的虚拟城市游戏好上手,不必须氪金,很好玩/.Version: 1.2.80
By far the bestI've been playing city builder games since Sim City 2000. This game is fantastic; it blows Sim City away in terms of graphics and simplicity, and to think it's available all on the iPhone makes it even better. If I had just one thing I could change, it's that if you decide to move a building, you always have to find a place to stick the building temporarily before moving it. It would be nice to stick the building into memory and then place it directly from memory..Version: 1.2.60
Simcity-holicI have played Simcity since I was a kid, this game has captured all the fun I had and more. Credit to the development team for making this timeless classic live on with mechanics that feel modern and fresh. 5 ⭐️.Version: 1.2.51
Great game but lots bugsThe game continues to shut down unexpectedly, or is often non responsive when merges are done or some times objects won’t place even when there is sufficient room. Great game but the bugs need to get sorted out..Version: 1.2.51
Great!By far the best mobile city builder I’ve every played. If you want a fun game that will take a while to beat, play this. Plus, there’s no ads!!!.Version: 1.2.0
Started to crash a few days agoThe game is good and fun, graphics are good. But 2-3 days ago, the game started to crash every 5-10 minutes..Version: 1.2.5
LaggingPlease fix it it’s a good game but it keep turn off then work for 1 min then close and on close and on the games.Version: 1.2.5
Love the gameLove the game so fun 🤩.Version: 1.0.4
A little too greenIt’s a decent sim builder. A tad too much on the ‘green’ side of things, but at least they let you make a city the tried and true way with cheap energy. I like how it makes fun of the overly woke characters and there’s a Karen type character complaining that water has hydrogen and wants it removed. It’s an odd combination of humour and “drive an electric car.”.Version: 1.1.1
Good game butGreat city building game. One thing that i dont like is that it doesn't allow you make roads freely. Also instead of placing buildings we can just may be select an area for residential, commercial or industrial and buildings grow by themselves..Version: 1.1.0
ZoomNeed to be able to zoom out more on iPad. It’s so hard to see whats going on in the city.Version: 1.0.4
Love itBrings me back to playing sim city.Version: 1.0.4
Great game but….This game is honestly so fun and addictive like I never want to stop playing it. It’s just to good!! I love it great job on it but there is one thing I would fix because the second quest I got I can’t accomplish it and it’s always says that I have to add more buildings and more houses but I’m running out of room so could u pls fix it?.Version: 1.0.4
Zoom function could be improvedIt would be great if you could zoom out more.Version: 1.0.4
Absolutely love this game!Best city sim builder game I’ve played on my tablet in a long time. Well done!! Thank you..Version: 1.0.3
Great gameNot a dev it is really fun it’s great for making time fly by.Version: 1.0.3
Great game. Some improvements needed IMOOverall thank you! It’s great to have a non-micro transaction sim game on mobile again! I signed up for Apple Arcade just for this game. It’s a solid build with some great visuals. I would recommend a few changes though. - starting from scratch without things you previously unlocked when you move to a new map is frustrating. IMO you should keep what you unlock and you should only have certain items unlock per level. I’m debating whether to start another level just to repeat the same thing. Unlocks should be progressive. Otherwise, well done guys. Maybe just change up the story line a bit..Version: 1.0.3
Great potential but…Game crashes a ton…about every 20-30 minutes and doesn’t save changes so work needs to be redone, also you should be able to zoom out more to see your whole city, scrolling all over to see everything is frustrating and causes time sensitive thing to be missed. Removing the “merge” icons when you aren’t actually able to merge anything would help clear up an already busy screen!.Version: 1.0.3
I absolutely love this gameWhat I’ve been looking for in a city building game! I’m really excited for updates. I emailed them about a bug and they replied back the next day with a suggestion to help me until they could fix it ! A sandbox mode would be nice, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re already working on it! Still a lot of fun without it.Version: 1.0.3
Crashes on the sun city levelSuper fun, but when I unlock the sun city level on iPad it crashes every single time upon entering.Version: 1.0.3
Great game!Love Apple arcade games! So refreshing to just have a game you can play that’s not wanting all of your money to progress. This game is very fun my only complaint would be that you can’t zoom out very far,Which is why I only rated at four out of five stars. I would love to be able to see more of my city at once without having to scroll around all the time.Version: 1.0.2
Great time burnerSlick city manager, really fun to play and hours go by while I'm playing! Graphics are fun, interface is intuitive and TONS to unlock. So happy this was put on arcade, what an amazing value! A few requests that would make this 5 stars: #1 Ican't play this without my iPad plugged because it really drains the battery. #2 the building merge system is confusing and needs a better tutorial. Why am I stuck with so many residential properties that can't be merged? How do I fix it? You shouldn't need to go on Reddit to understand basic gameplay. #3 there's SO MUCH scrolling because you can't zoom out far enough..Version: 1.0.2
Fun game butLove the game. Lots of fun. But didn’t realize it would drain my battery in like 20 minutes..Version: 1.0.2
