Good mobile gaming!Runs better than I expected! I had to get it since the launch discount is so good. There were some latency issues at first that I couldn’t solve manually changing graphics, so I chose the performance preset option which gives no latency and a mostly smooth 60 frames on the 15 Pro. Touch screen support for menus is an addition I’ve been begging for and it’s very welcome here! So are auto-fire and using the whole screen area for movement and camera if needed; I had forgotten my Backbone but I was still able to play smoothly because of these features. One main issue I have is with Mr. X: he’s definitely broken. Anytime I duck into a save room or the STARS office, he stays right out there and NEVER leaves. I’ve not had that happen in my 5 years with the game on consoles. Anyway, it’s RE2, one of the best RE games, somehow on an iPhone. 2024 is pretty crazy. Good port!.Mr. Him!Version: 1.0.1

Phenomenal Game with Phenomenal PerformanceAs someone who has played this game on the PS5, It didn’t really click for me and so stopped playing after around 5 hours. However, this version on iPhone runs exceedingly well, far better than I expected while still looking incredible. Of course the game is already amazing, and though it isn’t really the best without an external controller, with a Backbone controller it is far better. I see a lot of people not really caring that much for these types of games releasing on iPhone, but for me having an all in one device that can act as a phone, media player, film camera, and a pocketable console, that’s extremely cool and useful. If you don’t want to invest in a Steamdeck or similar products, this is a fantastic way to play these types of games, especially with the new iPhone 16 Pro. Immaculate portI played on an M4 iPad Pro 11” with a controller. The port is incredibly good, I’m amazed this game looks this good on such a thin device! It has decent graphical settings, allowing you to choose Metal FX upscaling quality, resolution, motion blur etc. i opted for the second highest resolution (for higher frames) with Metal FX at Quality, it didn’t disappoint. It stayed remarkably close to the 60fps mark, and during cutscenes the framerate is flawless whilst in-engine. An incredible port for and incredible gameI am really impressed with how great this port is. Smooth 60fps and solid texture quality is still in tact with this port. The port of RE4 Remake left me a little underwhelmed with it’s lower texture quality and frame rate but it seems like the team really focused on proper optimization with RE2 Remake. Amazing Game, Amazing Price!I can’t believe Apple brought Resident Evil 2 to Mac for just $10, it’s such an insane deal! Plays greatI’m playing on an M4 Pro Mac Mini and the performance is perfect even with high graphics settings. I use an LG ultra wide monitor and it looks amazing. The only weird thing I’ve noticed is I’m using a PS4 controller and the button icons don’t match with what’s on screen (pressing Square on controller correlates to pressing X). We have come a long wayThe fact that Resident Evil 2 Remake even runs on iPhone is surreal. The fact that it runs very smoothly, blows my mind. Best Horror Game for iPadLove resident evil and glad a a favorite remake is finally on iPad. Graphics are very good and game play is same as a console version. Best played with a controller. Controller format is Xbox controller. I use a PS5 duelsence controller and can’t find a way to switch format. Not that big of difference, just different button placements. FPSI feel the game is amazing. More optimized than the previous resident evil games. Only problem I have with this game is to low fps. Controller Layout Does not WorkThe controller layout is in dire need of an overhaul. I do not know if the scheme is based of Xbox (since the controller is displayed). For example, when you aim it is a toggle where you have to press L2 to aim and again to lower the weapon. Also, when you press L3 to run you aim the weapon again and for some reason you begin firing without pressing the R2 button. I turned of the game out of pure frustration. If I can recommend, change the layout to the PlayStation layout since it is easier to play. For that issue it uses a press/ release option, where you press the L2 to aim and release the L2 button to lower the weapon. There is also no fullscreen option, even if you use your mouse the game will automatically take you out of fullscreen and reduce the size killing your gaming experience. Sale?Fantastic game and remake, however the game is on sale for $10 on steam [PC] where you can push this beautiful game to the absolute limit, but my iPad Pro (M4) can’t, and the game is $40 here. Why no sale? 5 star game, but giving one star for greed. I will never pay full price on IOS. It doesn’t make sense to when I already own the game on PC. Internet connection required breaks gameThe port itself of the game is hindered by one detail, and it’s the requirement for an Internet connection. This makes the game fully unplayable if you’re even in an area with remotely weak signal. I am paying full price for this game, so I should be able to play it in any circumstance on my phone with no invisible walls telling me I need internet to play a RESIDENT EVIL game. Such a lazy practice to keep people under online player count metrics for the company or won’t trust people enough with their phones.
