Filters need to be improved.I like the features of the blind dates. I’ve been having good conversation with those I’ve been paired with. The only issue is I keep getting paired with people out of state and there’s no way, that I’ve found, to get people in my area. I’m in northern Colorado and the app has been pairing me with people in Florida, Iowa, Utah, Texas and lots of other places. The “blind date” feature is neat and really what has sold me here. It also pairs you up with people who are also just looking and do not necessarily have the time to sit here and swipe. This app would be great if it would let me pair with people who are in my area and not 10 years younger than me. I just need a filtering system. Yes, I’m aware that you can strengthen the filter with an upgraded membership, but then I have to pay to contact those people too. My honest reviewIn complete and total honesty, I’ve been looking for an app to replace Tinder. However, Duet does hold matches from you in an attempt to make you buy their premium feature. The problem with that is it discourages new people from staying and it means that buying the premium is worth it because there’s only few people. My honest advice is to just wait until the app developers realize that is actually making people leave and reverse it. Other than the app holding matches from you in an attempt to get you to buy premium, the app’s usability is decent. It’s not as streamlined as Tinder, Hinge, and Bumble, so people are forced to take a good minute to actually put effort into their profile. Making profiles more mandatory to get verified is a very good policy to have as it’ll stop bots and fakes from getting on the app. The profiles themselves were good, people do take time to build it up, and put their information. Even the ones with no bio, there’s still plenty of info for them to share. Price of Premium is another problem. With the app not having many people, i wouldn’t pay $24 a month. If it were up to me, premium would be $10 a month, in attempt to keep what community i have, and encourage building up because i know a majority of people want a replacement for Tinder. Interesting new takeThis is definitely a different vibe than previous apps, it seems like there are more options for preferences but not enough people to fill up all those spots so they don’t end up working that well. I get that they are trying to match you with someone you have things in common with, but the app is a lot and they are trying to accomplish a lot of things. It’s not bad, but I think it would be ideal if people were required to have multiple photos, having just one on a profile it’s hard to see what it’s all about. I tried to use the free rewind they gave me and it immediately took me to play for premium. Where’s my free rewind? I had been saving it for the last 24 hours since I signed up and it was gifted to me. How disrespectful. Also have only gotten 2 matched so far but I have a more than a few who have already liked me. I downloaded the app and to actually download it the app told me I had to be 17 or older (I’m 17) but to actually put ur age in the app to find people of a similar age u have to be 18 or older. Permanently banned for no probable cause or reasonHi, I really love this app, it actually might be my favorite dating , social app, I met a good friend on here who I still talk to, the only issue I have with this app is that it permanently banned me, when I haven’t done anything to violate any of the policies . Decent app, but needs some more workI like the app look and feel. The profiles look nice and I like the extra features crush and reverse, but the main issue I have with the app is the age and distance filters. The really big issue for me is the age filter not working as someone in their later twenties I do not want to see profiles of people 18-20 as one the age gap is pretty significant that I would feel uncomfortable talking to them mush less seeing them in person and even if I have an age setting it still shows me users outside the limits. This is why I have considered removing it until this feature gets fixed and refined. There is a similar issue on the distance filter but it’s not as big of a deal as I would be okay taking to someone a bit farther away as long as the first (age ) filter worked correctly. I bought premium, here’s my reviewThis app may work for people in different areas. But I have my location distance locked at 30miles. This is being broken almost all the time. I do not have expand my search on. This is most likely because the app does not actually have enough people around me. Not only that but I’ve gotten multiple matches without premium (so it does seem that even without premium this app pushes your account to people in your area) but even if you have premium you will not match with them. I know it sounds insane but if I were to text one of these non-premium users they will not get it because they need to also get premium to see the match and the text. Not only that but after a couple “125+ miles away” I all of a sudden see someone that’s 11 miles away. Which sounds good like the app is fixing itself but it’s not good cause it’s always 11miles away, it seems fishy. Anyways the blind date feature seems rad but it only ever worked ones for me which extends my point it seems like there’s really no one in my area on this app so the app shows me people who are a 125+ miles away and or 11 miles away in an attempt to make me think that there are actually people on the app. If you plan to use this app do not buy premium but also if you use this app it’s useless without premium. No, just no. Don’t buy premiumFirst days of using this app, I had such great pleasure matching up and chatting with new people, so I was very ecstatic I gave it a try. These first few days I kept receiving notifications for people liking my profile and I was curious who they were, even though regular swiping had mix of real match up which I don’t mind playing that yes and no picking. Let me remind you that those notifications never quit popping up every hour on my phone when I’m away from the app. Days later my chats started to die down and I received lesser notifications to no notification at all, so I decided I surpassed to upgrade my experience for the premium version. Disappointing, probably a scam.I received many likes on my profile immediately after making a profile but never matched with them by swiping. Since buying the premium version allows you to see your likes and match with them I spent the nearly 30$ and matched with my likes. I messaged each of them and none ever responded over the course of about a week. I ended up matching with and messaging all of my likes and none of them ever responded. I figure that between 15 or so matches at least one of them would message back but duet proved this idea wrong. Eventually I became irritated and dropped premium and went back to the free version. After this point, I stopped receiving likes and matches, even as I continued to swipe. I kept some of my matches and none of them ever responded. It’s clear at this point that most of the accounts are fake or bots, which probably means their photo verification is at the least unreliable. If the app is only going to let you match if you pay for the right to see your likes and then withhold any likes when you stop paying, then the app is a scam. Don’t waste your timeProbably the worst dating app on the market. For every feature this app has, you can name another app that does the exact same thing but 10x better. I’ve had the app for about a week and got several matches but no one ever replies to messages. I wouldn’t be surprised if the app is hiding them from the recipient until they pay for a premium feature, as all these other reviews claim you won’t get genuine matches until you pay the subscription. The Blind Date feature is advertised on the App Store but it was so hard to find (you have to swipe down from the screen where you view your matches to access this feature, there’s no indication of this, by the way, I discovered it by accident). It’s also a pretty terrible feature as you get locked to a couple “blind matches” and can’t see anymore until the current ones send you at least 5 messages, which, as I stated before, is a massive issue on this app. They should really take a page out of FB Dating’s book and prevent users from viewing/swiping new profiles until they chat with their current matches. MatchGroup for the LoseAbout 8 years ago or so this app called YikYak existed. It was mysteriously and inexplicably discontinued. It wasn’t a dating app, but it worked so much better than how dating apps today work. You could actually meet locals through the app. These dating apps that MatchGroup controls are all just a moneymaking scheme and con job. They have the power to show you nearby people. I recently went on a date with someone and they talked to me about the dating apps they use. I questioned why I’ve never seen them on any of the dating apps. We both use the same ones. I don’t understand this appSo I downloaded it for fun, I noticed within the first few days that I’m getting a lot of matches. The whole system is set up for verification so no bots can come in. Well I’ve been on the app for a few weeks, gotten dozens of matches and only one of them responded. I will wake up in the morning to multiple matches, with legit profiles with bios and hobbies and whatnot and yet none of them will ever respond to messages. Honest ReviewI’ve been using all the dating apps for a while now and when I saw the adds for Duet with “No Bots!” As a selling point I gave it a try. After using it for quite a while I can say that the majority of people are bots or trying to sell you something. Duet withholds matches saying “Buy premium or miss out!” Forcing you to miss a match if you don’t want to pay for stuff. You’ll be bombarded with notifications that aren’t even related to actual matches. Pay or Reject systemThis app is exploitative in a brand new way. Most apps paywall certain features, but most aim to function on a base level for free users. This app does not. You will like a profile, then two swipes later that profile is back to the top with a “praise” messaging feature ad attached to it. You already liked them, but now your options are to pay up for the privilege of sending an unprompted message to a profile that has not liked you back, or to swipe left removing them from your likes. On top of this infuriating “pay or throw away” model, they also constantly bring up blurred out profiles of people who have apparently already liked you (I say apparently because the moment I finished setting up my profile there were two of them, no fake accounts though?) That would be great if I could swipe right and match, but instead they are dangling a carrot in front of you and demanding your money to even find out if the carrot is real. Lots of Fake profilesI’ve tried using Duet, and my experience has been extremely disappointing. The app seems to be full of fake profiles. Over several weeks, I’ve had multiple people like my profile. I messaged them immediately after receiving the likes, but I never got a single response—not even after following up weeks later. I also sent out numerous likes to others and still didn’t receive any responses. Initial ReviewIt’s only slightly different than any other application or service. The format is mostly the same and what’s more is there is zero incentive or motivation for people to utilize it. Within a couple days I have had 12 matches, sent 11 messages, and had only one read. Which either means people are not engaging the app, it’s no different from tinder and people are farming it for attention, or there are very little actual people. Honest reviewI’m very new to dating apps and I have seen this one around tiktok and decided to give it a try. Let’s just say, I was impressed at first because I really had to put thought into building my profile. PLUS the app makes sure that the users are real people instead of just fake accounts. Seems excessive and confusingI made my account and started swiping and such but literally haven’t been able to message anyone for days. I have yet to have one conversation and I’m not like “hideous.” One think I liked about Yubo is that at least the message feature allows you to interact with most of the people interested in you. Predatory PremiumThe way they use matches to force you to buy premium is really gross. It feels almost predatory. Preying on people’s yearning to make connections by taking matches and requiring you to pay to ever interact with them. the worst part of it is, they likely won’t ever undo it which is why applications like Tinder will still be a better option, even with the amount of bots there are. Cool concept… for long distanceDistance feature is almost always broken. I live in one of the top 3 major US cities, so lack of users in my area is unlikely the issue. Blind date feature is a cool concept, but matches are from states on the other side of the country. “Compatibility” ratings are also questionable. I wish there was some sort of test you took to find good matches. There are quizzes in the blind date section, but they are simple and shallow. Tags are fun, but people don’t utilize them enough to actually show off all their interests and get an accurate compatibility rating. There are 16 tag categories with dozens of choices in each and people add maybe 5 to their profile. Additional Suggestions: 1) Make a minimum tag number. I see profiles that have 0. I’ve never hated an app more in my lifeThere’s no point in the age and location filters because they show you whatever they want anyway. I have mine set as 27-35 and no more than 40 miles from me, yet I’m seeing 20 year olds two states over. Worse than hingeThe concept of the app was appealing, I like that it gives people more freedom to express themselves in their profiles and add more details. However, along with showing people way past your distance preference, it also ignores your age preferences which is the one thing that SHOULD be strict without exception. I’m in my late twenties, I don’t want to see teenagers or people just entering their 20s on my feed. Well it appears to be that they simply require a picture of you when you create an account, so print a picture of the picture you’re using to make your profile and ta da, a match! Not into itThe app extends the range to darn near nation wide if there’s no one around you. I get it - it’s a new app, so you’re trying to keep people around to build momentum so others will join. Honestly though, if all I’m seeing is people hours to literally days away, why would I bother? Why would anyone? LocationThe distance either doesn’t work or it’s done intentionally to make you buy it. I’m not sure but either way, 95% of the people I have seen so far are from different states. I’m in Cleveland and I’ve seen more people from Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia than I have from all of Ohio. I don’t recommend. App is absolutely a scamFirst off let me just say that I used the free version and had no issues at all and they do hide the likes from you just like tinder, I figured no biggie. At that point I had a couple matches and not a single one would respond of 15+ conversations after matching me. Don’t Get This AppThis app is backwards in so many different ways. The UI of the app is excellent, and it seems there are many users near me whom I could talk to. App needs a lot of workFor an app that claims that they are 100% verified accounts and required to be verified, you have a very bad verification system. I have ran across many fake accounts and then reported them, and was then later sent a message back confirming that it was a fake account. Pretty bad for an app that prides itself on safety. Second the location filter is a joke. I put range of no more than 20 miles and made sure of it, and then I get profiles from states away. Complete ScamTheir premium features are HEAVILY advertised. While using the app they not only blocked several features but also put time limits on accepting likes I cant even see. They give you a praise or crush option on people you've already liked and unless you pay 24$ for it you have to swipe on them removing the profile from your liked.
