Yahoo Finance: Stocks & News App Comments & Reviews

Yahoo Finance: Stocks & News Positive Reviews

Love it but…Nov 20th 2024: love the app, keep up the good work and updates. However, I don’t care for the new shaded areas under the graph lines. Makes the lines less visible or sharp. Kind of has a shaded look to it. Just my opinion, not a big deal either way. I think updates are fun, if it stays this way I won’t care. Dec 1st 2023: 5 stars but can someone please fix the app back to how it was, or at least a little???? Ok, idk exactly what it is but the new update I just don’t care for. I love changes and updates, but this time the 3 boxes at the top don’t even fit on the screen without scrolling a little. Like it doesn’t fit. And the numbers on the right of all of my stocks just scramble together (at a quick glance). Idk but before I felt like there was some separation. I’m sure I’ll get used to it but currently I don’t care for how it kind of blends together at a quick glance and for someone who does daily trades when work is slow, this makes it a little less comfortable (again at a quick glance, but still worth noting). Keep up the good work though! Love the app…..uhhh if anyone is reading this (following is just bonus requests) I’ll also ask for faster after hour trade updates for any stock (by the second, is that possible?!) and more often updates for my portfolio(idk what you do but double it lol) thanks again!! Previous review below back idk when: Love the app. Thank you! Only thing is, I have Schwab, can you please connect it faster and more frequently? Or maybe a push button on my side that will update it, something I’d use after doing multiple transactions maybe. TD Ameritrade seems to be linked properly. Currently I’ve tried deleting the connection to schwab and reconnected and it still doesn’t have my portfolio, this has been going on for a couple days, first time I’ve seen it do this. Please fix. Still giving five stars!.Version: 10.26.0

Yahoo has always been a great source of free financial info but the must fire 1 dept completelyI have used Yahoo Finance for over 30 years and it has greatly helped increase my wealth with quality data. They have been 5 stars with me for quite awhile but now I give them a 4 as they need to fire 1 entire department in its entirety and most will agree. I just started actively trading again so the best area to get leads or second opinions for over 100% to 1,000 % gains has been the comments section in the individual stock profiles. So I go in and attempt to ask some simple questions like “does anyone know what stock service lets you trade FNMA stock?” Which was instantly flagged. Why? I appear to be banned from the comment section as I cannot even post whether I think a stock is bullish or bearish or ask others option on earnings. Why would these simple posts be automatically flagged? Yet certain stock message boards have been rendered completely useless due to spammers posting political garbage about Tump, Musk, or even completely statements that make no sense as they were created by a spambot. I can’t ask a simple question but a spambot computer can post “Biden smokes crack” over 50 times a day on 1 stock board. So yes they need to fire the yahoo chairman and all of his employees that work in this department. As it called Yahoo Finance not Yahoo Political Spam & garbage!.Version: 25.17.0

Syncing IssuesI use this app daily and am so grateful to have access to it, however, for the last year there has been a syncing issue that has gotten progressively worse. Since I don’t make big changes it wasn’t a big deal at first. But over time I have made some new acquisitions and lately a few reallocations. These shifts in funds have not been accurately demonstrated in the app. This means that the app is showing a totally different portfolio than what I have. I’ve had to manually add the new assets into a separate folder to follow them. This does not give me an accurate portrayal of my finances. I’ve searched for a fix but only seem to come up with things that place the burden on my end. For example, clear my cache. I find that to be the most basic response when a company isn’t working to solve the issue. There are so many people frustrated with this issue. Additionally, if you are aiming towards having all parties paying customers, it seems a better tactic to have an extremely good working app and charge in tiers. Personally, I would consider paying a small subscription fee for a working app over an app that doesn’t work. As it stands now, I would not pay for this app service. It is very unfortunate because this app is vital with the information it provides. I’m hopeful a fix or some support for this issue can be provided..Version: 10.10.0

Yahoo financeMore information available and very intuitive than most .when using other sites I had to come back to Yahoo finance to get complete picture I would give five stars except so many times I click on a certain story when I get there I am asked to subscribe , even though the same story that needs subscription you can find it for free on another site. Public information should not require subscription. Very frustrating to click on story then it tells you you need to subscribe, I understand the reason behind it ,but if the story is public knowledge then it should be read without the annoying subscribe first ,if the story is exclusive to that site only then I understand someone need to subscribe. Most of the time it is not Yahoo but others who put the story on Yahoo then ask for subscription before finishing reading the news..Version: 7.13.1

Yahoo Finance App ReviewAs far as the mechanics of the app, it works great. It keeps up fairly well with the current stock prices. It is easy to add, edit, or delete stock symbols from your watch list. There is also a little chart that provides the price direction of the stock although sometimes it is a little behind. The news section falls short of expectations though. It does provide links to articles to read but some are from other news sources that you have to subscribe to in order to read them. The Yahoo Finance articles have a definite leftist liberal bias and really don’t belong on a business app. Whoever the editor is, needs to be schooled on what is relevant business news and what is just a hit piece against the other side. The news articles also come too late to know what is going on if the market is making a big move. So I suggest that you spend less time promoting your political agenda and more time reporting what is currently going on in the market, like real business news, so traders can actually stay informed with information that affects their investments. You also should have a remark section on your articles so readers can give you feedback..Version: 7.12.0

Best for News Coverage and Trading!Yahoo! Finance is one of the best applications to get the latest news feed plus track and trade stocks. Whether you use E*trade or Robinhood, or some other app for trading stocks or ETF’s, you can link them here and trade and watch the news all on this one app ...for free. The best thing about this sight is the live coverage by the expert reporters. The reporting by the yahoo news team is refreshing as you get all the breaking news and most talked about stocks in a rather fun way. The reporters engage really well with each other as they voice their opinions on all the latest news matters. For the first time, It’s actually entertaining to watch the news. Listening to how much insight they have on certain topics and watching how well the news team interacts with each other to break down the news, is worth walking up every morning to. They each have really cool and great personalities. I’m pretty sure everyone who watches this news team has a favorite or two. These reporters are also pretty great looking people to both listen to and watch. They all have incredible smiles and a great persona about them. They also all have their own great sense in style. The beautiful Heidi Chung, with her elegant fashion, always fun to listen to when she gives her opinion and let’s out her cool laugh; The gorgeous Senior Writer Melody Hahm, and her incredible mind, always talks so eloquently and very knowledgeable on most topics, and dresses very lovely. Brian Cheung, very hip fashionable with his new era look, sports a nice blazer with tie along with some cool sneakers. Also speaks so profoundly on all knowledgeable topics. Zack Guzman has a great business professional look to him and always fun to listen to as he adds his own clever segways into the next topic. Really the best for the market coverage and trading stocks..Version: 6.3.0

Needs improvementNews blips that get posted on the lock screen very rarely go to a news story when I open my iPhone by sliding the notification. This is a serious failure in the app implementation. Moreover when I go to the news feed list, the notified headline is rarely on the list. I think many of the news stories are useful but the navigation has severe flaws that could be easily fixed. Get the geek squad busy Yahoo! ********* Later: I’m using the app a lot to look at stocks and options information. I really wish it supported landscape mode for iPhone cuz it would be easier to scrutinize the spreadsheets for options prices. ******** Later: UI improved. The data feed can be flaky eg Details view sometimes doesn’t get the options information and the options link is not displayed. I would like to see an auto update for the options data. It doesn’t appear to be implemented at this time. Later…. Still quite buggy. Useful info and such..Version: 9.26.0

Yahoo FinanceIm a reasonably big fan of Yahoo Finance. It’s a pretty good source of information. But it’s a little lacking in instructions on how to use it. But I’ve muddled my way through. l’m probably like most people, I’ve learned to navigate along the way and make it work for me. But when the format changes, for no apparent reason (from my perspective), I become less efficient in accomplishing what I want to see and do and then it’s back to the learning curve (again with a lack of instructions or a guide). This causes me frustration-like most of us, I’m a creature of habit and as I get older, I don’t do change as well as when I was younger. While I struggle with change that “makes it better”, I don’t like different, especially if it’s only different but not better. Different is not necessarily better. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it. Stop messing with it because you can. Familiarity is comfortable, change/different but not better is stressful and uncomfortable..Version: 9.6.0

Decent, Could Be BetterI generally enjoy using Finance. I love its design and the content, but the functionality is just overbearingly poor at times. One can only love an app so much until its practicability becomes detrimental to the user. Among the app’s abilities is the quintessential feature of portfolio tracking. There are two ways to begin tracking your portfolio, either manually or by linking your brokerage. At first thought — I had found a panacea — an app that could solve my task of portfolio tracking along with decent news. The only problem that I have with their portfolio tracking, through the linked brokerage, is that my portfolio is inaccurately represented. The money in my account is noticeably off balance and fails to display my actual balance. The point of a portfolio is to track your assets, which this app fails to do accurately. That is my only complaint regarding the app and I hope my commentary is useful to interested users. 4/5. Decent app..Version: 4.3.0

Disappointed that alerts are now restricted to 100I was a fan of yahoo finance as its easy tool to manage your finances and keep a track of stocks you own and know next buy sell point using your techniques. One of the most lovable option I used was add price alerts. Today morning I found that they have restricted it to 100 only with unlimited on upgrade to $25 a month. Thats too disappointing. I don’t think yahoo should charge us for alerts for following reasons. Firstly we are not accessing any proprietary info from yahoo analysts. Secondly we are not interested in knowing research ideas from yahoo, I like to do my own research. Thirdly, you already have my data on stocks I browse and importantly the stocks I own. Searching for new tool that can offer free alerts..Version: 9.3.0

Bad Changes to Important DataThank you for the response. I’m happy you at least responded. But you said you “are trying to figure out how to incorporate price & %” Guess my question is why do you have to figure it out when you already had it on old version? You had it perfect & had it figured out; but changed it for the worse. Bottom line, I’m glad you responded & sincerely HOPE you actually DO take it seriously & change it back ASAP! I won’t use (and I know many others that feel the same) until it’s corrected. Thanks again & I hope you return the POINTS along with % soon. Thank you!! You changed the “points” the Dow, S&P, etc from the main page at the top. Only listing the % up or down & NOT the POINTS up or down. WHY would you take that away?? You made an update , but TOOK AWAY data!? Financial Professionals use Yahoo finance app to see certain data at a glance. You subtracted data!!! Does that make sense? Don’t let programmers change things that your audience wants & needs! Your app used to be better than CNBC, now it’s worse. I will only use CNBC app going forward unless you change and bring back the +/- points. In case you don’t realize what you changed, it used to show -10% AND -200 points. Now, only the %. Bring the points AND the % back..Version: 6.4.0

Just ok. But it looks greatIn addition to my previous review, I think it’s fair to say, that despite how much I dislike this app, It is in fact the best one available at the time of this writing. I’ve tried every other one. So while I really do wish it was sorted out, it also significantly better than ALL of the others. With that I have to bump it up an additional star to 4 stars. Don’t waste your time looking checking the others. — When you add in your holdings every time you create a list, it’s treated as other holdings. So if you organize by industry, like energy, biotech etc.. and you then have a list for all of your holdings, 1000 shares of stock a Your energy list, becomes 2000 shares in your holdings list because you have stock a in two list 1000 shares each. I definitely will not link to my brokerage account because yahoo, Verizon...Version: 8.2.0

Good but glaring issues (revised)More changes (Mar 2020). Format seems to have changed to only list stocks in a single column, like i hold my iPad like a giant iPhone. What was wrong with the grid format?? If i have to scroll a lot, the app is nearly useless for monitoring my watchlist. Also, the charts are getting drunk again. Sometimes the numbers on the right are gone. Sometimes the daily chart just shows a couple of fat candles. Comments still default to “top” comments instead of new, like that means anything. ************* (Nov 2019) I deleted and redownloaded this, and a got an updated version that is improved, so I’ve revised this review. ************* Good app, and i use it all the time, but some fundamental things are broken or badly designed. The daily view in the detail chart hasn’t worked for months. (NOW WORKS) And the chart view's year-to-date timeframe doesn’t work. (FIXED) Changing the timing (1 minute vs 5 minutes, etc) doesn’t seem to work generally. Manipulating a chart sometimes makes it flip out and display data from years earlier. (SEEMS FIXED) Having to switch comments from “Top Reactions” to “Most Recent” every time is annoying. Top reactions just gets gamed by spammers by having bots comment on and upvote the spam. The comments are dated with “3 days ago”, “2 weeks ago”, and “4 months ago” instead of actual dates, but this isn’t somebody's movie blog. Finance discussions are highly date driven, and i find myself frustrated trying to figure out if a comment was made before or after the last earnings report. Speaking of which, please mark earnings releases on the monthly charts. And the GIFs allowed in comments are huge and pointless. They only get used by loudmouths you’d rather not hear from anyway..Version: 7.0.1

Everyday I lookingI enjoy this App; watch it most time & it with Facebook same time ; thanks for this service. Look at everyday With virus going around be safe & God bless.i like it has conversations to read what others find out in there research I hope it true not false , God Bless again & Be safe to all in the world we really are all visiting here to embrace each other of all colors when u really think abut it we are on inside the same with red love or red blood & I believe our GoD Watching is all actions are words I sure he disappointed when we if we go to heaven doesn’t separate by race I sure that a tough subject love all in ur circle of life all visiting here don’t hate outside it much better, easier to show peace go live . It SAD to watch on TV show HATE in NY & others states ..Version: 7.6.0

Love it. Really. Still want to tell you more of course…Just a couple tweaks would make this truly great On the App: A. Under Statistics include historical numbers like on the website B. Should have same features as website across the board. On Both app and website A. To make it WAY more useful. Please allow someone to just enter numbers under “holdings” ANY way they want You really limit the usefulness insisting it be entered so it looks exactly like a holding you have I’m sure EVERYONE would like to be able to just put in a cost basis and share number without dates or other details B. Allow searches or a detailed filter for types of patterns you provide alerts on, like there is a filter for bearish or bullish. B1. Allow alerts for patterns, high or low volume (above 1, 1.5, 2 or below etc) no matter what company or security they happen in Makes looking into you’re own companies easier AND seeing perhaps related companies when an event occurs where a change may be relevant to you Or just tells you where you might need to look. C. No reason not to have technical analysis events on indexes and funds. There’s no more liability. If I’m missing something then put in a disclaimer. So please include technical analysis on all indexes and funds.Version: 10.5.0

New update with the side barI used to love this app very much. However, the latest update , the formate has changed. I tell you this change is like the new Coke, bring the previous formate. For example, if I have multiple portfolios built and I click on one of the them then on several of the portfolios, I won’t be able to go back to home unless I hit back several times. Additionally, the major indexes were always displayed on top, with the new format, once you click on a portfolio, the indexes are gone. I would have given this app 5 stars except for the new changes of format. It’s really an awesome app to track investment and it allows for multiple portfolios to built. Please bring back the old format..Version: 9.3.0

Very helpfulYahoo Finance helps me track simple and complex purchases, trades and portfolios with real-time updates. I like the extensive charting tools and analyst reviews. I also like the news associated with each security being listed below the profile. They need to fix the bug in the chart comparisons: when you compare multiple stocks in a single chart and change the time period (1M, YTD, etc) the compared stocks do not show the latest trade price while the referenced stock does. This renders the comparison worthless because it is not a fair comparison. Beyond that, I wish I could move the data from one portfolio into another without having to manually re-enter. I like the phone app’s display of pre- and post-market percentage changes while in list view. It would be great be able to see charts of the prices in these sessions. Over all, a very helpful tool!.Version: 7.2.1

Your Daily Annoyance…This app has been great for years, but a recent change has taken it down a big step for me. On the Home Screen, where I spend most of my time monitoring my portfolio positions, they have added a ‘Your Daily Brief’ pop-up tab that takes up precious screen real estate and will not go away. It’s completely redundant since it’s basically the same news articles available in the ‘News’ section of the app, but even if you swipe down on it to hide it, it pops right up again the second you start scrolling back up in your portfolio list, and there is no way to turn this off in the app settings. Please update your app to remove this, or at least provide a toggle to disable this ‘feature’. It’s super annoying and frankly not helpful at all. If it must exist, it should be a 5th button across the bottom of the app..Version: 25.12.0

Okay app, untrustworthy operatorUPDATE (mid December 2024): News tab now has articles again so rating increased by one star. Yahoo is still generally unreliable and untrustworthy though. Too many privacy breaches over the years to put any faith in this service operator. UPDATE (early December 2024): News tab is blank, displays no stories Yahoo Finance is one of the best finance sites online. Some of the app's UI changes are a step forward, some are a step back, but it's better than many other apps and it is backed by the great Yahoo Finance service. I stopped using Yahoo Finance to track my watch list because of all of Yahoo's security breaches over the past few years. It is doubtful that Yahoo will ever regain my confidence in their ability to protect my data which is a shame since I really like the service, I like using the app, I just don't feel comfortable with Yahoo anymore.Version: 10.28.0

Getting BetterOverall this app has gotten much more powerful with time, but is not quite at the place where I’d like it to be. First, while new features were added to make the app have all the content as its desktop counterpart, some small UI tweaks are needed to make the financials data and other in-depth sections easier to view on mobile devices because of the smaller screen and massive amount of information. And I would like to see a better news feed that incorporates a more varied amount of sources. Also, I’d like to see the font switched to the native iOS font as I think it is more appealing, and switch the advertisement system to have less intrusive banner ads instead of the way the ads are currently presented. Other than that, this app is an essential for keeping track of the market..Version: 4.7.0

Horrible update!I loved this app But after this last update, no more "grid" view on iPad when in landscape mode. I used to be able to see all of my holdings and see all of the price quotes in three grid rows. It was a wonderful thing and so helpful in monitoring my portfolio. Now after this update, it is pretty much useless for me, unless they fix these issues ASAP. Looks like many others are having the same problem. Please return the grid settings as before, or many will be deleting this app and looking for a better platform. *Updated Review* Thank you for correcting the grid view! I can once more use this app daily as my go to! Thank you for addressing the problem and listening to the many users that were affected. Five Stars!.Version: 7.3.1

Great ServiceI am not a person who can see above what’s around the next stock, or my typing skills for that matter. We will not even get me started with my grammar for God sake. I have really enjoyed the information that has truly helped me with my stocks, some good some not so. I am not in the best place to give an opinion as to how much it has helped me individually, I’m not that good so what I can tell you is that without the service that I have received is spot on! I have never been so happy with the all the time, and service I have received. All I can say is this is this, if you have it keep it, if you don’t have it get it as soon as possible you won’t be sorry, and last but not least, everything on the bigger picture it will not let you down. “Sis C”.Version: 6.5.0

What the change? New iPad format is reverting to a skinny cell phone formatRecent 2020 format change for Home page..... Before I could scan about 45 stocks in one glance and then scroll down for each successive 45 stocks. I could group them by sector and have a handle on that. But with the new February 2020 format change, the home page has become an iPad afterthought. Instead of viewing 45 stocks on a page, it is now 12 stocks vertically, scrolling up or down like crazy. No longer provides a comprehensive cohesive view to evaluate stocks of interest. Try scrolling through a list of 500 stocks. SEIZURE WARNINGS! And just try to find all the chip stocks and compare them with minimal time. If there was truth in advertising, the new iPad format should be called a deviant iPhone format. Why did you mess with a good thing? The rest of the app would still get a five from me, but without the prior format, I have found I go to CNBC more and other apps than my prior go-to Yahoo Finance. Please make a version that addresses this problem, uses the whole screen, and dumps news about stocks I may not be interested in back to the News tab... Update March 31, 2020 1 STAR RATING NOW UP TO 5 STARS With all the stock volatility over the last month, I had continued to wish the old multi-column format was around. I needed a quicker more comprehensive view that the multi-column format provided. So I went to my “dead useless” generation I I-pad mini that can not update to the IOS after 5.5. It had the multi-column format so I survived. But now, IT REVERTED BACK TO THE MULTI-COLUMN HEATMAP AND LIFE IS WONDERFUL AGAIN. THANK YOU YAHOO FINANCE GODS IN THE COMPUTER SKIES! *. *. *. *. *. FIVE STARS AGAIN ! Count them ! Kudos to BR..Version: 7.2.1

Old finance app better on iPadMust retract my comment below, after version upgrade functionality returned! Thank you Could customize to what I want to see. The Home Screen permitted me to list across the top, overall market status to include futures ahead of the open, this is exceeding helpful. The other feature was the holdings summary to show full value of investments being tracked. What I do not understand is I have these features on my iPhone app but less functionality on my iPad and less data displayed on a larger screen ? Yahoo has been great and I’ve used it for many years, yet yahoo and other financial services apps are providing less capabilities and calling it an improvement ? It’s not, IMO..Version: 9.3.0

UnknownI’ve consistently found Yahoo to be an excellent source of news, particularly appreciating the breadth and depth of coverage provided. However, I believe there’s a unique opportunity to enhance the user experience even further by introducing more live coverage, especially tailored for the younger, financially savvy audience keen on Wall Street developments. This addition would not only enrich the platform’s appeal but also empower the next generation of investors by providing them with real-time insights and analysis. Such a feature would solidify Yahoo’s position as a go-to hub for news that caters to the diverse interests and needs of its audience. This refined review offers constructive feedback and suggests an enhancement that could benefit both Yahoo and its user base..Version: 10.9.0

Bad News BearsUnfortunately what used to be a reliable source of News and information has sunken to new lows. Not only are the stock prices lagging behind the market changes by as much as 20 minutes or more. They have increasingly catered to abhorrent business spam with services such as Accesswire, and the like, posing as news. This pay for play hype is akin to spamming those of us who used to turn to Yahoo Finance for truthful business trends. I leave 2 stars in the hopes that Yahoo may return to its previous format of reporting the facts not hyperbole. That being said allowing services like Acceswire and Global to assist with the shorting of stocks by posting frivolous ads or articles is unethical at best..Version: 8.1.1

Long time power user, good app, improvement needed!I am a long time power user. It is a good app to monitor stocks, create watchlists and portfolios. However there is no sell feature so you need to delete positions if you are selling your positions which is not practical or useful. If you could also add your sells than it would report your p&l better. Furthermore the app is currently very buggy. The portfolio list randomly scrambles even though you sort it based on p&l, amount or alphabetical which makes it difficult to view and list your positions in a meaningful way. Furthermore the news section is full of news from companies trying to upsell expensive subscriptions with appealing headlines but low quality content. Premium version is generally useful but hard to navigate and make full use of its features..Version: 8.1.0

Yahoo Finance BiasYour biased coverage of Tesla/Musk is beyond frustrating. I’m all for fact based arguments on both sides, but your negative flippant mocking angle is clearly one-sided and has been for a while. Over time your analysts are proven wrong, yet nothing changes. I’m doing everything I can to find a replacement app. When we find out 5-10 years from now that Yahoo Finance had a vested interest in Tesla’s failure, it will not surprise any of us who had the ability to sniff out your constant BS. There should be accountability, not to mention greater time allotted for those with a track record of accurate analysis, instead of opinion-only pieces from babbling heads with only a superficial knowledge of the subject matter..Version: 6.3.0

Love this app, but...UPDATE 1/17: Looks like the Holdings section is back, so I once again give the app 5 stars. I really do love this app and would give it 5 stars, but all of a sudden my linked holdings account no longer appears at the top above my stock symbols list. I have closed the app. Rebooted my phone. Deleted and reinstalled the app then rebooted my phone and nothing works. This morning I opened the app saw my holdings were back, but before I could get excited, the holdings disappeared once again. Not sure what is going on but until my holdings are permanently showing on my screen once again the app is useless to me. If this can be fixed I would gladly give it 5 stars once again..Version: 7.14.4

Great app, almost perfect. some suggestionsMy goto app to start the day. Love the little changes since download. Some features I like to see added. DRIP- can’t tell you how time consuming it is putting the data in, not sure if it’s because I choose not to link my accounts to pull those entries(personal reasons). Crypto Staking- again time consuming. Sub-Portfolio list- this is just me on my set up, I like to have an overall List and have my portfolio broken up as it would in each portfolio as it would be if I were to look at it from whatever account and sector breakdown. Not sure if these features are part of the subscription but if it isn’t then it would make life a little better lol..Version: 10.26.0

Clear, concise, and completely comprehensiveI have been using yahoo finance as one of my trading evaluation tools for over 15 years. What I respect and enjoy about the site is it’s simplicity and ability for me to list and segment my various portfolios. The design and development team appears to be very active as they have updates and have incorporated several new, valuable features this year. I know there are several much more sophisticated and advanced platforms to choose from. However, any successful investor not only has a trading plan, but executes with as much simplicity and clarity as possible, yahoo finance provides that structure and outline..Version: 9.21.0

Don’t get too big for your shortsYahoo finance is a great new aggregator. But it is just that. When I click on a morningstar story, don’t tell me that I have to subscribe to yahoo premium to read it. I understand that you guys are trying to become more than just a news feed and find new revenue streams, but your playing in an arena that you are highly outgunned. Though I admire the shift in corporate budgeting and strategy, I feel that you will drive away people who just liked your app for the news, like myself. Find a better way to monetize than blocking public articles to incumbent users. Don’t alienate, extricate, extricate and monetize..Version: 7.9.0

Best source for finance newsMy finance teacher circa 2016 (the year I laughed at my barber telling me to buy Eth for .99) told me I should get a watchlist started on yahoo finance. Boy do I wish I believed in my convictions of that watchlist. From Snapchat to Chegg and many others I knew from watching people around me must have some value greater than 2-10 bucks a share and laughable market cap by today’s PE giants. The team is as unbiased a news source as I’ve seen. They talk real metics of valuation and the guest list is phenomenal because they put the time in to ask these folks to come chat. Way better than any of the eternally biased other big name networks..Version: 8.5.0

Yahoo FinanceNot bad. A lot more offered than any app I've tried. Just to keep up with what's going on and why. Other apps just gave data but no news. Found out about this app online, in an article about what apps seem best now that the stocks app that use to come pre installed on IPad no longer offered..Version: 3.14.1

Yahoo FinanceThis is an amazing app to keep track of your investments and for various information on companies. I highly recommend it !!.Version: 10.4.0

Column sort would be usefulThis has been my go to app for several years. I would love it if I could sort columns from high to low so I could quickly see the days stars and dogs. The icons at the top are useful, but I would love to know how to change/organize them..Version: 3.15.0

Needs more filters to find TSX stocksThe app is great for NYSX but for someone like me who is looking for strictly TSX stocks, the app has no filter or screener for any specific search and under markets it does not let you choose which stock exchange you are under. Hopefully they add this soon..Version: 7.9.0

Old version of holdingsPlease bring back last version of holdings view. It was so simple to see and click on holdings before, now not so much..Version: 10.8.0

Best FREE financial app hands down!!!The title says it all...best watch lists...amazingly fast real time quotes and with real tick charts.... no other app that isn't part of some brokerages in house program comes close to this... thank you Yahoo.Version: 8.1.1

Currency IssuesApp still shows market value in USD (but says CAD) for US stock lots purchased in Canadian dollars. This causes gain/loss percentages to be incorrect..Version: 10.7.0

Useful appOverall pretty decent app, but can you put back the actual price of the stock during pre market and after hours instead of just displaying the change. It was a lot easier to view the info before..Version: 9.25.0

Recently I have been unable to click between time periodsGreat app, but buggy clicking lately. Scrolls work, so it isn’t frozen, but clicking seems broken..Version: 8.8.1

Just okIt’s a pretty good app all things considered. It fersher has one major design flaw for (iPhone at least), if you click on a stocks chart, it flips the screen sideways and has this little tiny X button in the corner of the screen that is almost impossible to actually click. Oh and when I was coming here to write this I saw that it says real-time quotes, that’s not the case, unless I am missing some option, quotes are delayed 20min.Version: 3.21.0

Don’t likeI prefer using the website. This app is limited and yahoo now disabled web access of yahoo finance. Can’t use my own created view; this app option is only basic or detailed. Can’t switch to landscape mode....Version: 3.17.0

Temps reel + Date ex-dividendeJ’adore l’ajout des cours en temps réel pour la bourse canadienne. Commentaire constructif: Il serait intéressant que la date ex-dividende soit indiquée dans les statistiques clés!.Version: 7.9.0

Good but needs improvementsDear Yahoo Finance, I’ve been using your app for over a year, and while I love much of the Ui and the community on there, I’m surprised that in over a year, you haven’t updated the app to capitalize of the surging interest and growing amount of people getting into the stock market. Issue #1: there should be an increase focus on conversations and user interactions. How come I don’t get a notification when someone replies to my comment? How come it took me almost a year to finally figure out how to see my own user activity?? It took me a year to find out that I had to go in conversations, then as the bottom window pops up to leave a comment, I then have to tap on my user profile, AND THEN I can see all the comments I’ve made and liked, to then also be able to go back to where I commented to see if someone replied to me. This is such an unintuitive design and user experience. Can’t you see how so many user communities are being built elsewhere when yahoofinance could’ve easily been the central hub for everything? Look at your competitors, they all put a greater priority on user interactions than you do, and getting a general sense of what’s being discussed is incredibly important as we’re moving towards an age where fundamentals alone are not enough to predict the movement of a stock. Issue #2: There are a few bugs around the “conversation” section that need to be fixed. First of all, one of three times, it’s stuck “loading” infinitely, I learned that I had to hard close the app and then reload it, to then go back to the stock to then finally load the conversation... I’ve been doing this for a year now, ridiculous. Also, you need to rework your comment censoring algorithms, it is deleting way too many real organic comments and bleeping words that you guys deem inappropriate is just belittling, you should let users decide whether they care to have language censored or not, we’re all adults here. Issue #3: You have a few more design issues that need to fix, while overall it’s a beautiful app, which is why I love using it in the first place, there are a lot of functions and elements that aren’t intuitive, such as how if I want to “star” a stock so that it appears in multiple watchlists, well each time I “star” it, the menu disappears and I have to tap on the star again to open the menu... why can’t you just leave the menu open and let me dismiss it myself when I’m done adding it to my different watchlists?? Issue #4: Another design issue, but the most important one: setting Alerts... First of all, you should allow us to have alerts that don’t deleted once triggered. As an example, what if I want to know every time a strike price touches a certain price, on its way down or up? Especially when stocks are volatile, it’s going to touch certain price points multiple times, and it’s annoying that I have to go back and set the same alert again just to know if it ever reaches that price again. Also, and this is the most annoying part, after setting an alert for a stock, I can’t just immediately create a new one for the same stock, I have to close the alert menu which brings me back to my stock and then tap on the alert icon again to then be able to create another alert on the same stock. This is such bad design, because actually after you create an alert for a stock in the menu, if I tap to create a new alert right away, it asks me to search for the stock I want to create an alert for... That’s so unnecessarily tedious. So can you just imagine how tedious it is to create these alerts, only for them to maybe get cleared out and then having to come back and do it all over again? I’m getting really tired of doing all of this, I moved over from the bloomberg app over to you guys because of the nicer design and the conversation community that also has a user base that’s more mature than stocktwits, but if something else ever comes up, or if tradingview becomes more popular, I’ll naturally be moving elsewhere if none of the design elements are fixed. I took the time to write this lengthy review BECAUSE I want to keep using your app and so wish to see it get improved. I hope you’ll take it seriously and start working on not only fixing the flaws cited here, but also take an opportunity to brainstorm how to improve your user community experience, cause there’s really a lot of opportunities there..Version: 8.1.1
