(Fixed!) Too much junk on Home tabUpdate: thanks for putting My Scores back at the top of the Home tab! Original: It used to be that the My Scores section was at the top of the Home tab (it’s even still like that in the marketing screenshot on the App Store listing). Now I have to scroll past 4 screens of other junk (irrelevant news and ads) to get to My Scores. You can set the app to open to the Scores tab instead where there’s another My Scores section that’s at least at the top, but on the Scores tab My Scores is missing the important Past/Today/Upcoming switcher, so I can’t easily navigate to the results of yesterday’s game. Great for score updates but...How many times do I need to turn off news updates? Every. Damned. Time! You update the app, I have to go *back* into the settings and tell it, *again*! that the *only* updates I want to pop up are score updates! If I want to read sports news, I know how to open this app, or another news app, or ESPN in a bloody browser! Ok, whining aside, I've been using this app for sports scores since before Yahoo bought Sportacular. I've tried other apps and have never liked any of them as much as this one. Favorite sports app out thereThe layout is easy and quick, has enough articles to keep me entertained, and the BIGGEST plus is that it's the only sports app I've found that shows what station a game is being played. That actually is the biggest separator between other apps. I'm giving it a 4 because stats is a little lacking, not sure how easy it is to bolster that, but it bothers me. Also, I loved when it had trending games. It was removed a while, but it still REALLY bothers me they got rid of it. I used to open the app and see a big college football game was coming up, then an NBA game, then college football. Almost Perfect…butSo much to love about this app but there are a few subtle changes that need to be made: -NBA & NFL: Player card/info screens should include “bio” all on one screen. No more scrolling across to find it. Include all career stats—not just recent years. -MLB: The player stats on the player card screens are awful (when you click on a player for more info/states). They’re out of order to the point where it’s not even worth clicking on individual players. Example: Click on Mike Trout and his career stat Home runs and RBI aren’t even close to each other. The pitching stats are even more convoluted. It’s as if they’ve never looked at the back of a baseball card before. Please fix this. One suggestionThis app has a lot of the things that I am looking for. I like to keep track of my favorite teams and each day, I’ll even add some games that I’m interested in and get alerts on those as well. However, the one thing I think is missing is that when I add games I’m interested in, I want them to be highlighted in some way. As it stands right now, once I back out of the game page I have no idea whether I added that game or not. Would it be possible to make it to where the games I’m interested in also goes up to the “Favorites” section? Best Sports appI've tried all of them, but I always come back to the yahoo sports app. My favorite feature is the "pick tracker" where you pick who you think will win and there's a leaderboard comparing your picks vs other people's. They are the only one that I've found that has that feature and I love it. It's free, and it's solely for bragging rights, but it's cool and interactive. Clean up some of the menus and navigation though. That is still a mess. Still buggyI’ve been using the app for a few years, but there is a bug that goes from a version to a version and doesn’t get fixed. The app automatically adds Major League Soccer and International Friendlies to my favorite sports. I remove them, but the next time I open the app, the two sports are there. I tried everything: removing all my favorite sports and adding them back, turning the phone on and off, but every time the app adds the two sports. I even tried switching to a different sport app but I’m used to the Yahoo app and it has decent features otherwise so I keep coming back...to the same bug. Update 2020: In addition to the bugs they wouldn’t fix, the app constantly fails to load data. It became so annoying that I finally decided to get rid of it. They need to get the playoffs schedules rightMy gripe with this app is during the NBA playoffs, the schedule has been (a) slow to update, neglecting to remove series from the schedule if they end before seven games, and (b) incomplete, not showing upcoming series when possible. The NBA's official app, for instance, shows that the Jazz will be playing a TBD opponent at 9 on Tuesday. These are both small things, but they're enough that I'm not going to choose to use this app if I want to look ahead to what games are coming up. What I do love about this app are the box scores. You get full box scores and it doesn't require awkward scrolling left and right to see players' full lines. Intrusive AdsI’ve used this app for years and I liked it very much but recently it seems like the ads have become ultra sensitive to touch. When I’m scrolling through the news feed It will almost always open up the ad content which requires you wait for the ad to load then hit the teeny tiny back button to get back to the news feed. Oddly the stories themselves aren’t as sensitive to accidental touches. Hmm…If I was a more cynical person I would guess that the developers made them more sensitive so they would get more as revenue from ads opening up from the accidental touches. Excellent, but one thingThis app is great for knowing what your team is playing today! I have a group of PJ’s for every big Indiana team, and i had to look up who Indiana was playing. Turns out, they were playing Maryland! This app also has a lot for new people to explore. Like the team records! And the best of all, the win probability is AMAZING! I am so obsessed with the stats! Include all golf tours, not just that you approve ofLike it or not, LIV Golf is now a real golf tour. Other than some articles that seem to be written by a PGA Tour lobbyist, there's not much else. It's okay to include LIV Tour tournament progress and results. It's just golf and it's still sport. Personal ideologies shouldn't dictate sports inclusion or coverage. Without any real barriers to entry, it was foreseeable and inevitable that another golf tour would emerge. The PGA Tour has become too comfortable with their monopoly status and their behavior has been telling. Seriously?I love being able to watch live NFL games in market, but tonight when I clicked on a link the app gave me about a story I was interested in I discovered the app won’t show me pictures or videos inside of the story unless I let it track what I’m doing when I’m using other apps. This is pathetic. I’ll use the app to watch nfl games when I’m away from the house but obviously yahoo doesn’t care to be a reliable sports news source unless they can have all of my data from everything I use on my phone. This app is the GOATThis is the best app out there, straight up. Has the info you need, quick and easy, and doesn’t force articles and video on you if you aren’t interested (you know what app I’m talking about). I love this app, but …This is (by far) my favorite app for getting sports results, but it has one extremely annoying glitch. When viewing Team Stats (for NFL results, anyway), the leader in each category is indicated by a small dot on that team’s side of the ledger, and that small dot is often black. That’s fine when the display is in light mode, but I prefer dark mode (all the time). And, when the display is in dark mode, that small dot is still black, making it nearly impossible to see. This app is wonderful!It gives me updates faster than other apps, and it’s not clogged with ads. The only reason I’m giving this 4 stars is because after the latest update, the notifications are having problems. They keep getting cut off (like the team name might not completely show). Bugs or poor design?Generally I like the southwest works pretty well, but I just noticed that at least in the NCAA basketball, it does not show my favorite teams unless they happen to be in the top 25, and even then sometimes not. No matter what conference you select, your favorite teams should show up at the top of the list, as they do in baseball and other sports. Or is this an oversight? When Illinois was in the top 10 their schedule showed up on the days they were playing. Very surprised...I had extremely low expectations of The Yahoo sports app delivering me the NFL playoffs on my phone, but the app came through. Watched both Saturday clashes streamed on my phone and caught everything perfectly. Simple until frustratingI really like this app. In general, it allows you to organize and sort based on teams and sports you want to see. It has always lacked some on soccer, but I’ve come to accept that. Every now and then, something happens that is not explained or dealt with and I am baffled. Best app for sports but could be improved.The app can be buggy at times. If your location is off and you enter the app to watch a game, it’ll tell you to turn it on. However, when you re-enter the app with your location turned back on, it’ll sometimes still not let you watch. The solution to the problem is to delete the app and reinstall. Amazing!This is the only App I found that allows you to watch NFL games for free. Yes, you are limited to a selection of games (5-6 per week)(which in-itself is still amazing granted it’s FREE), and the games are 30-45 seconds behind live, but still, allowing you to watch games for free totally separates this app from competition. Great App, one lingering bugThe app is great and works very well! My (iPhone 8) one issue is that when I get a notification that links to a story, I’ll touch the notification which opens the app to the story and things load/display great, then all of a sudden the text of the story disappears. Nothing I do seems to bring it back. I have to try and find the story by navigating to the section of the app that lists it, select it there and then things are fine. Super Bowl flopTried to stream the super bowl, but airplay wasn’t supported. Would have been willing to pay for access to a Super Bowl stream on the big screen. Yahoo Plus Allows COLLUSIONRESPONSE TO DEVELOPER RESPONSE: I did write to that email address and demonstrated through evidence that there was a very high chance of collusion. Yahoo vetoed the 2nd trade - which was lopsided but not overly so compared to many non-collusive trades - and wouldn’t provide a word of explanation as to why. If it’s not for collusion, then half the trades made would then be subject to veto. The first trade these 2 colluding teams made involved 8 players and the team that got the windfall is now in a virtual tie for 1st. And Yahoo just allows that. It’s a joke. This is a $250 buy in league too, was gonna do $500 or maybe $1000 next yr. Yahoo provides not a word to inform as to any explanation or the criteria used to assess trades. Have been using Yahoo Fantasy Sports for 20+yrs but this is my last. In a $250 baseball fantasy league and 2 owners - one of whole was in dead last both times - made lopsided trades that favored one. That owner went from 8th to first. The second trade - which was imbalanced but not much more than a typical lopsided trade - was vetoed by Yahoo. Yet they’re not disqualifying both teams even though one team already reaped the benefits of the first trade - an 8 player one - and they’re almost certainly gonna do shenanigans again. Was considering $500 or even $1000 leagues next year but never gonna do Yahoo pro again..NJacuguyVersion: 9.13.4

Plain Ridiculous!I have told Yahoo! about the same “bug” and yet nothing gets done?!?! When commenting all the sudden the app looks like it’s “searching” or “refreshing”(The Searching thing pops up and in the middle of the screen it stays!!) and you are unable to post your comment. You can continue to type BUT you can’t fix any mistakes or post, you can’t get out of commenting, The only thing that you can do is close the app and open it back up again. Score widget is a major problemWhile the layout of the app and the frequency of notifications (not too many, not too few) made Yahoo Sports my preferred sports app, the removal of the regular score widget from the today view was too much of a problem. The replacement widget shows limited information and only periodically updates, rendering it effectively unusable. If the original widget was returned, I wouldn't have a major problem with the app. But the issue is at the core of why users download sports apps, and therefore the app no longer justifies a download. UPDATE: The development team appears to have made some small changes to the widget but have not addressed the problem. Until the original widget returns, this app doesn't have much use for most users. The CBS Sports app comes the closest to the experience the Yahoo Sports app previously provided both in terms of widget and overall UI. For those who no longer find Yahoo Sports useful given the aforementioned issues, that's my recommendation..WearshadesVersion: 9.24.1

It’s So OverI’ve used this app for a long, long time, basically since my first iPhone. It used to be so much better than the alternatives (ESPN, I’m looking at you), and I’ve probably kept it around for too long out of laziness and nostalgia. 15 year customer about to deleteI’ve used this for about 15 years (when it was Sportacular) to stay up to date, but mostly to make weekly football picks. Absolutely love the app and the news that’s written in it. What I CAN’T STAND IS THE VIDEO AUTOPLAY. If I wanna watch a damned video with the news or analysis - I will. Highlights I can find anywhere - I read the news for the analysis. Key word there. READ. Regardless of the setting it is put on, videos (or rather the ads that precede them) ALWAYS auto play. Even if I put it on “Only on Wi-Fi” it STILL does it. Even if I’m off wifi. It’s not very promising that a publicly traded company can’t get its major glitches together (this has persisted through multiple updates and complaints to the developers. Too many notifications + bad UII downloaded this app at start of NFL season to try something different from the ESPN app (due to their pop up ads anytime I opened the app) but The amount of notifications this Yahoo sends is absolutely out of control. For NFL, I only have 3 alerts turned on: breaking news, Packers and titans news….yet this app still sends me 25+ notifications every day(!). It really seems they just send a notification anytime they post a new article. I want breaking news notifications for the NFL…I don’t need to be notified every time a new article is posted. Also the standings page for leagues is rough…there are limited views (no league-wide view, conferences on different tabs preventing you from seeing them all at once). The game stats view is also rough. More Politics and Terrible AppThis app continues to get worse with every update. It’s getting harder to find the news stories I want to read and despite getting alerts for stories, when I go to find them, I can’t. The other thing is that I’m realizing that Yahoo is getting extremely political and it’s definitely leaning to the left. Now, before all the Liberals chastise me, I am a moderate and don’t align with either party. I am also a Veteran and mindful of how little either major party truly cares about the people they “serve”. Having said that, I used to follow sports because they kept politics out of it. The Sports app is ok… the overly progressive yahoo sports writers are trashIf you don’t want to read any articles then this is a great app. If you want inside stories that are sports-centered and are devoid of political leanings then I’d look elsewhere. Please fix the videos Automatically playing!I loved this app. I’ve used it for many, many years. Still do, but you have to do something about the videos in the articles. The videos at the top of Every. Single. Article. I have auto-play switched off in the app settings, yet every single time I open an article, the video plays! If you pause the video and are scrolling through the article and switch to another app, then return to Yahoo Sports and your article, the video starts playing again! So now I have to scroll to the top and stop the video again. I lose my place on the article and get so annoyed I close the app and read it somewhere else online. Yahoo please.What happened to this app?? It used to be my go-to app for my NBA scores and news, but now half of the articles aren't even legible. They just look like a cluster of links without a readable format to them. I mean does anyone actually proof-read the articles before they're put into the app? I'll see an article that is actually interesting only to find that I have to sift lines of links/sources to find where the article actually starts. 01glenThis is a so so app. It has the information about some of the teams I like, but short on info about injuries. Place a feature that lists injury reports for each team, how long they’ll be out and their status. A lot of the stories are old too. Everything revolves around the yankees, Ed Sox and dodgers. Some Small market teams are teams that win on lower budgets, and with rosters that are not store bought winners with high salary players. ******Would be great if when using the "game" function if yahoo would include a sound feature to it. Gone from bad to worse!This app was good. But then it went from bad to worse. I deleted it because I couldn’t stand it anymore. The scores and updates are not in real time. The information so late I have already received it from other apps. The notifications are all messed up. I checked off to be notified about information about my particular team. It worked for awhile although it was not in real time. Now I was getting information for every team in MLB for EVERYTHING! Change of pitchers, change of innings, scores, it was so annoying! I would give zero stars if I could after the most recent updateWhen looking up scores, they’ve started to include hyperlinks below to articles about particular matchups. 100% of the time all I want to do is look up the box score, stats, etc. but now every time I click into a particular matchup to view the box score, I’m automatically taken to the stupid article I have zero interest in reading. But that’s not enough. I’ll exit the article to re-tap the matchup to get to the box score, and it takes me right back to the article. Was good, now its horribleThis app started off well years ago; very user friendly and intuitive. Real time scores and stats were excellent (though occasionally there were issues, but generally very good). Then about a month ago a new update took place and the whole app UI changed and it is terrible.
