As Great As They Come.I wish they had one app for Yahoo Sports & Yahoo Fantasy. I understand why they created two separate apps like the other Big Names in the Game, ESPN, CBS, etc. But those apps don’t overlap information like the Yahoo Sports Apps do. I wish they either didn’t cross over info from app to app or simply had all sports related info on one individual app. because all the overlapping information between the two apps. is just too much sometimes, especially when they roll out something new. Almost everyone I speak to about Yahoo Sports & Yahoo Fantasy say the same thing which is exactly what I’m saying. There are so many other options available so they just gave up on Yahoo Sports period. I tell them they’re missing out and they joke back and tell me I’m wasting my time figuring everything out because once again the info is A+ but the web design is lacking. Lucky for myself I had patience so now I can take advantage of the A+ info that’s not available on ESPN, CBS Sports, etc. IF THEY MODIFIED THE APP TO MAKE IT SIMPLE TO NAVIGATE THRU THEY'D HAVE MUCH MORE TRAFFIC AND THE “CLIENTS” WOULD STICK AROUND FOR LONGER THAN THE USUAL 10 MINS AFTER THE SIMPLE SIGN IN PROCESS. Yahoo Fantasy on the declineI have been a user of Yahoo Fantasy since 2003. It has been my preferred way to fantasy sports because of how easy it is to use and honestly, nostalgia. But recently, I have been disappointed with my experience on Yahoo Fantasy. There have been instances where players in fantasy baseball have not been listed in a starting lineup when they were and vice versa. As commissioner of my fantasy baseball league this has caused me many headaches due to the complaints of other in my league. My second point of concern would be the fact that it is so hard to get in touch with support. I understand that this time of year is difficult with the volume due to fantasy football but it took me 5 days to get the ruling on a tiebreaker scenario for the playoffs. I love Yahoo Fantasy and will continue to use it because it is superior to ESPN, CBS, etc. but I would like to see some internal housekeeping from time to time. Two more suggestion: can we have more than 20 characters for team names and the option to switch players out of doubleheader’s/rain outs. Thanks again!.Matt KryszVersion: 10.20.6

Pretty good at this pointWorks pretty seamless in iPhone 5S. Smooth, some nice extras, I especially like the mock drafting with this app. My only knock on it is, that not all capabilities are available as in the desktop version of yahoo fantasy sports. And you get some "tunnel vision" as a result of limited capabilities and the current UI. Especially when looking at daily stats of your lineup, the app's inability to go in landscape mode really hinders your appreciation of all things stats. I think most fantasy sports "managers" are stat people like myself and this app really does not let stats shine though and can be messy and hard to make out. This app may never fully evolve and will just be a dumbed down version of the desktop version of Yahoo fantasy sports, which may not be so bad if you're looking for a simpler faster interface. Since I wrote this original post some time ago: read top line iPhone 5S, the app has not evolved beyond a dumbed down ver. of the superior and advanced desk top yahoo fantasy portal. Good fantasy app BUT trading needs some updatesThe app overall is great. They are always updating and adding new features. Current problem I have been having in multiple leagues which has caused me to have to contact multiple managers along with the commissioners to fix is the trading. If trades are accepted while a manager has enough roster spots to take a 2 for 1 trade it will allow the trade to go through. If that same manager picks someone up in the following 2 days before the trade is processed, that trade basically becomes vetoed/unsuccessful because now they would have needed to drop someone and that wasn’t in the original trade. Because of this, on game days I am having to scramble with managers and commissioners to go back thru and have them push the trades through. These teams basically can have buyers remorse and do this PURPOSELY to void trades they no longer agree with. This NEEDS to be fixed by app developers as it has caused many headaches throughout the year. Again, this is one of the best fantasy apps minus this loop hole for buyers remorse. Make it so the person getting two players has chances or options to have someone dropped before the entire trade ends up in the toilet and managers with buyers remorse don’t get a chance to back out of deals unfairly..ItssssjohnnnyVersion: 10.22.1

This app is 75% awesome. Needs tweakedI gave 3 stars because I am not completely happy with how it is set up. Couple of things, a Suspended player should be able to be added in the IR spot since yahoo doesn’t even offer a SUS bench spot. It isn’t right to use a bench spot on a SUS player when you have IR spots for players who aren’t available to play. So either add a SUS bench spot like you have the IR spot or make it possible to add a suspended player into an IR spot. The other thing, for example, Mike Williams hasn’t played a game in weeks yet every single week I can’t add a guy until I pull Williams out of IR (which requires me to drop someone) because his designation changes every Tuesday to questionable. Yahoo should keep a player designated as “out” until they are designated as “active” so managers can add another player without losing a bench spot. Also, a “bye” bench spot would be awesome too! Give managers the option to add these bench spots into their leagues and let us decide which ones we would like to implement. Yahoo Fantasy ReviewI would just like to say how much I enjoy this sight for Fantasy Football. I never really paid much attention to pro football other than watching my team, The Cleveland Browns. My son encouraged me to join the league for fun and to compete against him and his friends. I have been in the league for two years now and I already am looking forward to next year. The sight, in my opinion, is very user friendly. Statistics are updated almost instantly and the sight is very good about giving injury updates throughout the whole week. I have learned more about pro football and it’s players in the last two years than I have known my whole life. I love tracking my team and all the other teams throughout the week and especially on game days. I am very thankful I took my sons advice and joined. It has refreshed me and enlightened me on much fun professional football can be. Last YearThis is unfortunately my last year with the yahoo app..one issue I’ve had is that my comments are not able to be seen and honestly, trash talking is such a great element in fantasy and no matter what I’ve done, nothing works. There has been no reason that I over anyone else should have been blocked from having their comments shown. On top of the comments, there is no more GIFs?????????? This was truly one of the most enjoyable aspects to the player discussions and you just went ahead and removed it like it never existed? Who are you and what have you done with Yahoo??? This used to be so much fun. I’m on the app about 3-4 hours per day total and on top of the crappy interface, your fantasy analysts have thoroughly reached the pinnacle of irrelevance. I did not enjoy listening to dumb old Liz Loza but at least you had Brad Evans and Andy Behrens to explain and analyze players each and every week. Each analyst would take on a player position per week and submit videos of their fearless forecasts….that’s gone, too. If your goal was to ultimately make this a basic, unentertaining and a “switch players and add players” app with no useful info, great, you e succeeded. Great features, bad design and mechanicsI’ve been using the Y! Fantasy app for many years for a NFL and NBA fantasy league. This new update interface is TERRIBLE. It’s hard to navigate and makes it difficult to get to the Daily Fantasy page which is surprising they’d make it so difficult to access a feature that involves paying to play. Despite that, my biggest gripe is the mechanics of their location services which are required to enter paid DFS contests. I always turn my location services on before entering paid contests but almost every single time I try to enter my lineup a popup saying I need to allow Y! to access my location, I click allow (even though I already allowed) and it opens up settings page on iPhone showing that I have it set to allow already and have location services on already. The only way to get it to work is to close the app which means my lineup gets erased and I possibly lose my spot in the contest if I can’t redo the lineup before it fills. It’s extremely annoying especially since it happens every time and I play almost every day for NBA and every Sunday for NFL. It’s frustrating.ImtheshizzniyeeVersion: 11.8.0

Glitches and players missingI’ve been using the yahoo fantasy app for over eight years now in a while and most of the time it’s been pretty good but this year it’s been a mess. The website and app has been glitchy for months and also we drafted our players in June but there are several missing players from the players pool so it screwed up our draft! (Guys like Josh Allen, Joey bosa, kayvon thibodeaux etc) And we play keepers, which made it even harder. Right now it’s July 13 and they said they were going to fix it but it’s been over a month. Also the site has been glitchy when using their drop-down menus. And worst issue is in commissioner tools. If you change a scoring or roster setting, it doesn’t warn you that it will delete ALL OF YOUR KEEPER SETTINGS INCLUDING DRAFT PICKS AND KEEPERS. this is a HUGE issue that has frustrated endless people. I really hope they fix that soon one day. But with the problems that they’re currently having and how long it’s taking to fix, I’m currently worrying if Yahoo! doesn’t care about their app as much and maybe I should move over to another app like espn..SkyfireusaVersion: 10.50.1

Easy to scam peopleThis app makes it easy for the commissioner to scam people. Kyle Rocky Cunlip is the commissioner for the PrimeRealEstate league. He has scammed multiple people out of money by selling the same teams to multiple people. He removes the original owner of a top scoring team from the league and replace them and their already established team with a new person who also paid money to join the league. He recruits people from Facebook telling them he has a vacant team with a strong record available for anyone that wants to take over the team. He lies and tell them that the original owner was removed from the league due to not paying the entry fee. Kyle has multiple leagues that he is the commissioner over and he has done this in all of his leagues. There are multiple complaints against him on Facebook. This app needs to do more to eliminate fraud on your platform. I have reported this incident to FTC for fraud..A fellow believerVersion: 10.32.1

Gotta fix the chat bugYahoo has always been the best for FF apps, but this year’s updates are trying hard to be bad. -The chat feature has been buggy all season despite updates. Old messages appear randomly after the current ones and you get lost in the chat. - Way too much of a focus on sports betting. I know that’s how they make their money but it’s especially annoying in states that don’t allow betting. - team/league nav being at the top is mind boggling in 2024 -has been an issue for years but I’d love for the red alerts bubble to go away after clicking on it to read the alert. I don’t need to know for a week straight that Miami defense has been dropped by 7,000 people. The player updates bubble disappears, make the alerts do the same please. Lastly, the player pages are severely lacking. Can we at least get the players age SOMEWHERE within the app along with more than just the past season of statistical data? I’ve never considered migrating my league before because Yahoo has always been awesome. I’m thinking about it now, though..D-Ro-DVersion: 11.6.1

Very good AppFirst year playing fantasy football and the yahoo app has held up well. It’s easy to navigate through the app and I like how updates and anything that happens in your league is displayed. However there are 2 things that definitely need to be changed for it to be near perfect. 1) the discussion section for players needs to be permanent. It’s a great resource for players across all leagues to ask questions and have conversations about players they share. Idk if it’s only present during pre-season or if they took it off. Regardless it needs to be permanent. 2) Team photos need to be bigger. The guys in my fantasy league pride our selves with coming up with hilarious team names and use photoshop to make hilarious photos for our teams. But the circle for photos is so small it’s too hard to see them. They need to enlarge the size of the circle for team photos. With these two changes the app would go from amazing to near perfect in my opinion. And I feel like these are easy changes so hopefully the developers see this review!.GODFATHER1212Version: 10.20.4

Is someone going to tell them?The players list has its colors backwards. It’s showing opponents in red for 1-10 matchups and green for 21-32 matchups. Also, the new app layout is absolutely terrible. It used to be I could browse for new players to add to my team, and I could go back-and-forth between the player list and my team very easily because everything was at the bottom of the screen. Now I have to use the back button to get out of the player list, then go back to my team, then I would have to go back to the players, get back into the players list, resort for whatever I was looking at, and that is extremely inefficient. The same as True if I want to go back-and-forth between my team and someone else’s team. If I am viewing someone else’s team, I can’t go straight to my team I have to back out to the league View, then go to my team, then back to the league View, and then back to whatever team I was looking at. It is a really awful design and I don’t blame the person who created the design because they were just doing their job. But how many people had to say yes to this design? Every single person who had to say yes to this design did not do their job. And by the way, having things at the bottom of the screen is easier for people to reach the way people hold their phones. It is way easier to navigate something with controls at the bottom of the screen. Putting the main navigational tools at the top of the screen was just an awful idea to begin with in and of itself..JbkitchVersion: 11.6.1

My YAHOO! Fantasy YearsI’ve dabbled with ESPN and with CBS and SLEEPER Fantasy Football from time to time, but ultimately YAHOO has become my comfort zone. It fits very comfortably like an old pair of quality shoes. I’m in 3 YAHOO Keeper Baseball Leagues and am Commissioner in one. Two of those Leagues are at least a decade old and have built rivalries and terrific Fantasy Friendships and Camaraderie. 4 Years ago, I designed a Yahoo Football League which I Commission. About 15 years ago, I did the same with a Yahoo Fantasy Hockey League. I have been Platinum in all four Major Yahoo Fantasy Sports at one time or another, and am presently Platinum in 3 of them. I also Commission a Yahoo Hockey and a Yahoo Fantasy Football League ( And participate in 4 Yahoo Fantasy Football Leagues, including a Keeper, 3 Yahoo Baseball Fantasy Leagues (All Keepers) Etal, with 3 of the Keeper Leagues being well over a decade old. In brief, YAHOO Fantasy has become very much my principal hobby, and I would unhesitatingly recommend it to Fantasy Enthusiasts. In every Fantasy Sport, specially with upgrades, the array of information Yahoo supplies is simply unparalleled. It’s not even close. Yahoo is on a Fantasy Information Level that is so elite that the other Platforms (ESPN and Sleeper most specifically) don’t even breathe the same air. That’s how rarified it is. I won’t opine on CBS Fantasy Sports because I simply am not familiar with it..CAPITAN CORREAVersion: 11.26.0

Where’s my team?At long last, Yahoo opened fantasy baseball last month (well behind schedule and other platforms), but our league has no way to view our rosters from the previous year on the app. We have setup the keeper league management and everything, but for some reason you can only see your players on the desktop version via web browser. Therefore, the app is basically useless for me when it comes to checking updates on my players until the season starts. RECOMMENDATIONS: Make previous year’s final roster viewable predraft on the app for keeper leagues. Side note: please make the auction draft values for each player available on both the team and picks tabs, given that there’s no benefit to knowing the order of nomination in an auction league. The draft value is the most important item. I can’t view it via the app yet since we haven’t drafted so kudos if you’ve already fixed it..GRGarberVersion: 9.9.0

Your start active players feature is worthlessI don’t have time to check who is starting each day so try to use the start active players for the week. Once again I see I had a starting pitcher on the bench because it does not update line ups on game day apparently. I think it only checks if a player has a game or not and does not adjust of that player is not starting that day or is injured between when you set it. You should just turn that feature off completely if it is bot really doing what it says. How hard is it to check when buttons turn red for those set to be in lineups or green and not in the line up particularly starting pitchers. 3rd time this yearI lost a standing point in a category that was close but had a player not play and missed out on strikouts, homeruns etc..ContinentalwasbetterVersion: 10.48.1

App security and data collected on me.I do not want any data collected on me and I want my privacy. I do not like having to go through a two-step process to sometimes get into my Fantasy Football. I have already taken the step for facial recognition and that should be enough. Please do not link me to any other data collection that you may use, you do not have my authority to do that. As I mentioned, I already use facial recognition to sign into my yahoo Fantasy Football. However, it seems like once a month you have me fill out a different email and some different passwords with codes that you sent either to my email or to my phone. FF is addicting 😆Love FF, like the App overall but it glitches quite a bit if you’re switching between players and will kick me out of the app if I do it too much. Also, you guys remove the win and loss record from the game log tab under each player. That was a really nice feature to have. I would also suggest, a more streamlined way of looking up specific information about teams or players. I find myself having to use Google or ChatGPT for certain things because while your article articles are awesome and very informative, they tend to be geared towards the broad spectrum of each week and it’s hard to search within the articles for specifically what you’re looking for. One last thing that I think would be Paramount to continue improving are the projections, the sit start suggestions from your AI assistant, in the red and green matchups and how they relate to the stars and the player overview. I find contradictions in all of that information every single week with multiple people. And you learn really quick that if you were to trust those suggestions, implicitly, you would not succeed. All that to say, all the extras that you’ve rolled out in the ways in which you try and help are commendable and I will continue to pay for and use the app because I love Fantasy Football!.GytarfreekVersion: 11.24.1

Great, but one small problemWant to begin by saying how much I love Yahoo fantasy. I think that it is one of the best fantasy football platforms you can use, and it’s way better than ESPN or NFL fantasy. However, I’ve had an issue with the message boards this season. I’ll send a message and it will for some reason delete the message. I’ve tried closing out of the app, shutting down my phone, and even deleting and redownloading the app, but nothing seems to help. I think the message boards are a great feature and hope that Yahoo can fix this bug. And while I’m at it, I miss having the meme keyboard on the message board too. Just saying. Good, But Room For ImprovementThe app itself works well most of the time, it’s reliable, I use it for 90% of my fantasy transactions throughout the season. The biggest problem I’ve encountered is that the message board on the app and the message board on the browser are two entirely different forums for some reason. This definitely creates headaches, since it’s very confusing when half of the league is using one or the other. Kinda seems like they should be one and the same to cut out the possibility of being left in the dark on important announcements or just general league updates, trade requests etc. Speaking of which, it’d be really useful to have the trade block function operating on the app as well as the browser. My other primary complaint is pretty superficial, but I really miss the black background. Maybe you guys could add the option of night time mode? Seems easy enough. It’s been real..I have been avidly playing on this app for more than 5 years now. I’ve won championships an lost heartbreaks. This current year yahoo doesn’t know how to make a consistent experience anymore. I’m 3rd in my league in scoring an currently last place ( in a money league) because yahoo decides to shave points POST game in favor. Lord forbid you be comfortably up 8 points going into Wednesday wavers, just to have yahoo nerf 10 of your points an you lose by 2. Never had this issue with NFL fantasy app. You lost my service after this year. Fix your point system. Also they don’t properly project players points going into games. You seriously think this a good app?Were there budget cuts this year for your app design team? My 12-year-old nephew could’ve coded a better UI than what Yahoo inexplicably signed off on for this year. The app worked fine for the last 4 years, there was no reason to update it and overhaul literally every aspect of it. To make matters worse, and what finally got me to the point of adding a review, is now the weekly matchup blurb in the grey box has been removed from the player profiles. I’ve been using that for years to make quick decisions on who to sit and start and now you’re going to remove it 6 WEEKS into the season??? I don’t know who’s in charge at Yahoo Sports but they need to be fired. The app is no longer easy to navigate, all of the processes have added more clicks instead of making the app more efficient, the notifications are endless and nearly impossible to find the settings in-app to change them, the new layout is not only visually unappealing but it’s also a mess of varying font sizes, and the league chat glitches out all the time including scrambling up the order of messages. This is embarrassing. Y’all should be embarrassed. This may be my last season with Yahoo, if you don’t change the interface back to the previous one. No community engagement in aimless decision makingFirst of all, I am not someone who typically leaves reviews or recommends apps or anything like that, in fact this might be the first app I’ve reviewed in like 5+ years, anyways… Yahoo was always my app of choice for fantasy the layout is great a lot of helpful commissioner tools and nice features! I’ve actively recommended it to friends of mine for years. However in the past few months Yahoo has 180’d on me, they remove features that are beloved or extremely important to many leagues (Message boards & player chats etc.) for no reason or communication with the player base, even with the “addition of new features in fantasy chat” they didn’t decide to tell us that until AFTER removing Message Board which is incredibly vital to keeper and Dynasty leagues IN THE PRESEASON. The removal of these features genuinely impacts my fantasy experience negatively, I do not understand why this removing stuff makes any sense at all to them. These aimless decisions have now made me move my dynasty and keeper leagues to different apps, or moving league communication to communication apps :/ TLDR: Yahoo used to be my go to app, I no longer will recommend this app to anyone. The aimless decision making with zero engagement with the community has greatly hurt my chances to continue using this once great app. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. New Update is clunkyI don’t know why they even bothered to update the UI. It really was fantastic the way it was. The biggest thing I hate is that when you go to league, and look at your opponents team, you can’t swiftly jump back to your own team to cross reference the matchups with one click. You used to be able to click my team, click league, click on the team you want to compare, and from there you could just click league and my team to quickly jump back and forth between your opponent and your own team with one click. Now you have to click league, click your opponent, look at the opponent, click the back button, click my team, and now you’ve lost the ability to pull up the team simply by clicking league. Changing the UI to require clicks is counterintuitive to the user experience. And this is coming from a consultant. Don’t fix what wasn’t broken. Team toggleYahoo, you need to give us the option of toggling between teams without going to the dashboard. It’s a completely wasted step to have to navigate to the dashboard to switch to a different team. So many reviews are complaining about this exact issue. Fix it or go back to the previous version. No one likes the dashboard. No one. Response to yahoo: Yes, I’m in a lot of leagues, which is exactly why the team switcher as you called it was so valuable. With one touch, I could find the team I want to look at and immediately be directed to my team. Now I have to first navigate to the dashboard and then select my team. It might not seem like a lot but one extra touch or click adds up when you are navigating a lot teams, which many of us are. Not to mention that the dashboard itself takes a lot longer to load then just selecting my team. Lastly, for those of us that have zero interest in daily fantasy or yahoo fantasy news, the dashboard is just pointless. I’m not sure who you are catering to, but it’s not your competitive players that are signing up for high end money leagues. Gone downhillThey went from a good app to an increasingly miserable one. To start, a few people and I have been “tricked” into joining random fantasy basketball “high score” leagues (a new format yahoo is aggressively pushing). Yahoo sends pop ups within the app, and the small button to close the pop up is oh-so-conveniently located next to the big “draft now” button and boom within 4 minutes you’re in a draft/autodraft and stuck within that league. The “High Score” format itself is weird. It locks your lineup at the start of the week and only counts your starters’ best game. It’s ridiculous to throw people into that format, and it ruins users’ stats and ratings. Recently, Yahoo has also started hiding basic lineup tools behind a Yahoo+ paywall. I already pay for it, but most of my friends don’t pay. Some have stopped playing early into our hockey season because they can’t manage their teams in a convenient and seamless way. What was once fun now feels like a chore. It’s completely killed the fun for our leagues. Even those who do play may have slip ups with setting their lineups for the day every now and then. Ruined by Pay-to-Win ModelI've used yahoo for fantasy hockey for over a decade, managing a league of 12-16 teams annually. It hasn't had all the bells and whistles of other platforms, but it's been steady. Lately the whole "plus" subscription has started to make the experience bloated and nagging for those who don't subscribe, and it's tilted the odds in favor of those who do subscribe based on available information. Making that information available by subscription isn't the worst since it's proprietary to an extent and they have to justify the time developing those new features somehow, but now they've made setting active players for the week a paid feature. For hockey that means you have to go manually day by day and set the players or hop on every morning to start active players for the day. This change is a huge stumbling block for non-plus users who will inevitably leave points on the bench when there are games happening every day of the week, and on top of all the other advantages for plus users, it really makes it untenable to play fairly in a mixed paying/non-paying league. DONT GETOk I do not like this app.. I mean I’d play if it was the only app to play but seriously ESPN Fantasy and NFL fantasy are a lot better. One this one is really big but I prefer the white mode instead of dark mode and on ESPN and nfl it’s optional this it’s automatically dark. That isn’t really a big thing though here are some of my biggest pet peeves. 1. The graphics. The graphics are so glitchy. I’ll be drafting and it’ll just kick me off the draft nfl fantasy and ESPN fantasy don’t do that. 2. The money betting. In yahoo you have to actually get money to get money do your technically losing money if you lose. In ESPN And nfl fantasy there are options where you can bet but also ones where you can get free money from the app if you win. 3. The scoring glitches. When I’m playing a team I lost one game because the scores glitches. A player on my team got a certain amount of receptions and a certain amount of receiving yards, but the thing said the guy had two less receptions than he actually did and 24 less receiving yards. So these are the reasons why I don’t recommend this app and why I don’t like it. Disappointed with the New DirectionI’ve been a longtime user of the Yahoo Fantasy Football app and always appreciated its clean, intuitive UI. It was simple to navigate, and you could tell a lot of thought went into making the user experience streamlined and efficient. Covid problemsThanks to the covid debacle I lost this last week and for a paying league it isn’t fair. When only one person is affected no one cares so I was just thrown to the wolves. I drafted my team based on byes but the covid issues made it impossible and I had to drop players I needed because we are unable to slot the guys in the Tennessee and Kansas City games into iR even though they are out. So personally I would like a refund because this is gonna keep happening and it isn’t fair that others who get lucky that it hasn’t impacted their players yet get to take advantage of those that it did happen to. I lost in all but one out of my five leagues because of this because you guys kept giving me the same draft order so my teams have a lot of overlap! I am not happy about that either! I shouldn’t have to draft 7th,7th, 8th and 3rd out of 6th. How is that random? The first three ppl have a huge disadvantage and I couldn’t believe that I kept getting the same draft order. It forced me to have a bunch of overlap in my teams which I don’t appreciate. Then in the league where I had a good draft one guy botched his draft and he just didn’t pay so that we had to convert the league to non paying. Now I am actually doing well in that league and I will get nothing from it! Too much spent on upselling and not enough on functionalityToo many ads and daily fantasy crap clutters up the dashboard. Makes it hard to view the information about your teams that you downloaded this app for. Yuuuuuuge step backwards. Update: it's gotten worse. Sometimes you have to wade around to find your team and league pages due to a changing startup page and two menus, one at the bottom and one at the upper left corner. Confusing. The most irritating thing is when you're trying to check stats when comparing players, and you can't see most of them because they've decided to upsell stats, like positional rankings that you can get on dozens of websites for free. We got a problem...I love the yahoo fantasy app, and have been in multiple leagues. I have recently started a late fantasy basketball league and have had more problems in two days than I have had in like 4 years. Problem 1: setting up the draft, I tried to set up the draft order. I tried to select something in the settings to do so and the app showed it but didn’t show up “blue” to let me click it. I just told the guys that we’d randomize it and apologized. Who knows, maybe you can’t do so 24 hours before the draft. Problem 2: after the draft, I set my roster and decided to look at my matchup for the week. It just showed me against me, and didn’t show any other matchups. Nobody else in the league had this issue. I deleted the app, restarted my phone, updated all my apps, and re downloaded the app. When I re-downloaded the app, I clicked back on and I was at the home screen. Once I clicked on the “basketball” icon the app would go to a black screen and glitch out. I could try NFL MLB and NHL and it wouldn’t do it. Pace of Mock Draft 👎👎👎The mock draft function is lousy because if you happen to be the only one drafting, your next turn comes around way too fast. I say this because sometimes you need a bit of time to look for a player, examine who is left in a particular category, or or to rethink your strategy a bit - while the draft is on…but you just can’t get that. The 30-seconds you get when your turn comes around are not sufficient. If f others were also participating, or if it was a real draft you would have more time anyway. So the super-speedy mock draft rounds are artificial and unrealistic. There needs to be a way to either increase the interval between your drafting turns when you are mock drafting alone, or to at least be able to slow it down. Also, please restore the 12-team format option for free public roto baseball leagues. Being limited to 10 teams waters things down and makes them dull. Will move leagues elsewhereThe latest revamp to whatever Yahoo thinks is a functional interface is atrocious. If this is some late April fools joke or prank then at least I’d get it. First, the new font takes up so much needless space that you’re spending more time scrolling than actually looking at your players. It also is terrible, all uppercase, disgusting font. Most team names are spelled or capitalized that way for a reason, and this change ruins the unique twist each team manager is looking for. Is it such a cost saving move to change the font?? Second, it now takes multiple clicks to navigate to your league and then also to your team page. It is the middle of fantasy baseball season, and the app no longer opens up to my last used page and my baseball team. It now take multiple, confusing clicks to get to my team page. Lastly, and most frustratingly, there is no way in ‘Matchups’ to look at your team’s, or opponent’s, cumulative weekly stats. How on earth are we supposed to analyze the week and see the appropriate data if that is now not available? Terrible UI. They need to be more like ESPNBullet Points of Worst Aspects: - they limit the amount of trades you can send (6). So before deadline you can’t send every team a trade offer - if a player is in a potential transaction like a trade offer (trade hasn’t been accepted) you can’t pick up other players for that player. Meaning you have to hope the other person pays attention eventually and responds to your trade or you have to tediously manage your offers every time you want to drop someone. ESPN allows you to just drop the player and automatically cancels your trade offers involving them. WAY more convenient take notes yahoo - A GAUDY ad to promote Toyota every time your player has a bye. “YOUR PLAYER HAS A BYE SWAP NOW!!! - a message from Toyota”. Idc bout ads that aren’t obstructive to your experience, but this puts a big Toyota banner over your player, can’t even see their face - can’t look at players history in the league to see if they were added/dropped or drafted and when. In EVERY OTHER APP (sleeper, espn etc) you can pull up a player and check their history in the league. Here you have to research. Go through all transactions and manually look for their name with no search feature. - really hard to find your chats - secret profit take increase from 10% to 60% in bball leagues at least - only thing I like is they put though or easy matchups for a players position in red or green and they allow you to play in random leagues for money. Best Fantasy App for Users Until Latest UpdateThe new interface and menu is truly awful after the new update. I play in leagues every year with friends and family in all 4 major sports on this app. Needless to say, I use it almost everyday. I much preferred the previous design over other fantasy platforms, but this new design is horrible. It’s far more difficult to navigate and made something that was incredibly simple, suddenly more complicated. The writing is on the wall and users are speaking out. WE DO NOT LIKE THIS UPDATE. Very poor updateI want to like the new update, but I don’t. I wish there was a classic view. - can’t long press the player to move you have to press the position - you can’t really “feel” ⭐️5 or ⭐️2 like you do ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ vs ⭐️⭐️ - really, reeaally don’t like moving navigation from the bottom to the top. Moving red highlight, no game players to bench sends a push notification that the position is empty. Red seems bad, alert is bad. What is right - previous navigation when looking at your stack of leagues was when you clicked into a league it brought you to your team. You can still do this but you have to specifically press on the tiny team icon otherwise it brings you into the matchup. Newest update STINKSThis newest app update was designed exclusively for visual interest at the expense of user-friendliness. Until now, you could easily thumb through every fantasy option you needed without having to move your hand. You also used to be able to select a player to swap from your bench for a player on your starting roster and see the whole time what all players' stats are for the selected period of time, so you could decide who needed to be benched; now, it's so oversized and blown up that all you can see are players' faces and names. There are constant (but ineffective) calls to upgrade, and what appears to be opportunities to place bets (??) but when it comes to helping you manage a fantasy baseball team, it’s the worst. Seems like a pretty important thing to know, since it’s a competitive league where we all paid real money to participate. Making waiver claims, checking stats between leagues, checking team scores, and overall presentation with oversized font sizes is all soo much worse. Requiring Payment For Weekly Lineups Is GrotesqueI’ve used Yahoo fantasy sports for 20 years. I’ve managed multiple fantasy basketball teams and leagues for the past decade, and the decision to require a MONTHLY membership fee to set lineups by week is asinine and an intentional weakening of their product. If this change is permanent, I will be moving my leagues to a different service. Fantasy Basketball can be a challenge due to the number of games each week. It’s arduous to go through and set daily lineups. Several members of my league only joined after being told about this feature, as they didn’t want to set 7 lineups each week. Taking a great ease of use function and paywalling what feels like a basic functionality feature is a slap in the face to their users. Are paid IR slots next? Memberships required to look at player news? Everyone in my league has individually complained to me since discovering this issue. 2 stars only because of the latest update!Yahoo had a wonderful thing going for a while, that is, 2 dedicated apps that deal with sports: Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Fantasy. If you want to manage your teams — Fantasy. If you want info on actual sports — Sports. Now, with the latest update to Yahoo Fantasy, they’re trying to blend the two apparently. But by removing the bottom navigation tabs, you’ve actually decreased functionality and ease of use. For example, flipping between your own team, another manager’s team, and the player pool, when trying to engineer a trade, is now incredibly tedious because the bottom tabs are gone. It’s also now impossible to keep the player pooI open and sorted to your liking, then flip to your team, then flip back without the app reloading the player pool. This is how I make waiver decisions! Yahoo = Price GougingThis app has always been bad and difficult to use. From “unable to log in” errors creating perpetual loops by asking users to log in to fix the problem of not being able to log in, to entirely useless add-on services, this app has never been something to pride in. But this new strategy of charging for something that used to be free (like setting your lineup for the rest of the week, which is now a premium feature for $10/Month). It’s pathetic. An app so terrible I refuse to use itYahoo Fantasy has been the very worst fantasy app I’ve ever experienced for years running. It’s enraging and unusable. Terrible design. Lineups you think are saved aren’t. Constant cross-selling. It’s a trash app, and, quite simply, I won’t use it. I’ll use a web browser on my phone if I have to manage my rosters away from my MacBook. But two things got even worse this season. Basic data screens that used to be available for free are now only available through Yahoo’s idiotic + service. And very worst of all, app messaging is completely separate from normal league messaging through the website, which has absolutely wrecked communications in the two leagues I commish. The new update is absolutely terribleI have had an Apple device for 10 years and have never left a review on the App Store. But today that changes because I want to make sure you know how bad the new update is. I have 0 interest in the news and scores sections on the bottom of the page. Why am I forced to see it there. I use the app to play fantasy not to look at the other stuff your trying to spam down my throat. You zoomed the app in like you are targeting 70 years olds with eyesight problems. Now I am able to see 3 players instead of my whole team. On the main page I can no longer see where my players rank on the selected stat. A Clinical Unmitigated DisasterHere’s what you can’t do: - Use the app with a sand mind Here’s what you can do: - deal with continual app crashes - slow boot times to view a useless animation upon start up - be forced to see ads that get in the way of common gestures needed to navigate the app - find yourself frustrated with the organization of literally everything - heavy media use causing the app to slow - poor organization of players and information - nearly chat messages sent in the player chat end up being mysteriously deleted - you are not notified of replies sent to your chats sent in the player pages - every time you send a message in your leagues chat, you are told your message is deleted. - whenever someone sends a message in the chat of your league with the chat still open on your screen, you’re given a header push notification AND haptic vibrations - whenever you try to scroll up in the chat of your league, the app freaks out and decides to show you messages from MONTHS ago - the chat feature is broken - you cannot reply to a message cleanly I can go on. And on. And on. But I won’t, because there is no point. This app is broken and the developers are unable to change because people higher up don’t understand the importance of having a good user experience as opposed to having a “fancy app” that’s good for advertising. Here’s the solution; REVERT THE APP TO THE VERSION PRIOR TO THIS OVERHAUL. I regret ever having updated this app with each and every day I wake up and have to set my lineup. Horrible UII normally don’t write reviews. But I had to for the sole purpose on how horrible this new UI is. The previous one was perfect quick efficient and easy on the eyes. This new UI looks like it was made by a BOT. Hurts the eyes. Making you do extra steps to access what you want. Font is too crammed and large it looks clustered. Not only that, but they added in “news”. Who the hell uses yahoo news for sports. I just close yahoo and open sports center. Horrible Update Causes Us to Leave After 12 YearsAfter 12 years on Yahoo, our Fantasy league is moving to another platform. The recent re-design will be a case study in poor user experience. Everyday actions that were one tap away last year are now obscured behind unintuitive nested menus. Actions that should be grouped next to each other for ease of use are literally as far apart from each other on the screen as possible. Things that were previously pinned on screen when scrolling now do not pin, and go off screen when you need to see them. The worst part of the redesign is that the most valuable screen real estate for UI is now used for links to Yahoo’s Fantasy sports content. Aesthetically, I don’t like the redesign, but aesthetics can be subjective.
