Definitely Better by A LOT!I have had a yahoo account since 1994. The same email address for almost 25 years! My god. Now granted, I have others that I have used, and do use more often than my yahoo account (Gmail). In fact although I never deleted this account I didn’t really use it for over a decade. I found out sometime ago that there was a MAJOR security breech and suddenly YAHOO seemed almost irresponsible to use. On top of that , other mail apps coming out at the time seemed focused on security and also seemed more organized and user friendly to use. Recently however I have been digging into my YAHOO account and going through all those emails I never even looked at. As I do this I noticed how easy, fun and organized the new design is. Actually I am impressed at some of the new (or new to me) features such as receipts and the organization tools like attachments. I am able to locate old school and work emails with attachments that are now so awesome to have. I would have definitely deleted all of them if I wouldn’t have checked out the neat sorting features the app has now. Overall I am feeling a lot better about my YAHOO account and have to admit I like using it more and more each day. I have reviewed the security/privacy section and the extra care and personal choices showcased in the security does not go unnoticed. It is appreciated for users who may have been violated in the past, like me. I like it YAHOO, a lot! Keep up the good work and stay innovative! In the regards of Directly infringing on my personal data ownership and sharing rights. Because of this I have had many more errors and many complications. That are not of user incompetence that I have ever encountered using your systems and extensions. I’ve lost much of my invaluable Data photos music and school files you name it, Gone..! Loosing faith in literally the only browsing provider I’ve always used the most. And same with Microsoft who have given me irreplaceable bunch of issues as well. Great, a bit too much innovativeI use Yahoo email for 20 years now. I got Gmail accounts too as some interview experts suggested that having Yahoo email in a resume is unprofessional, as it is old fashioned. But it is super-reliable and its features are amazing. It integrates now my 5 email boxes from two vendors. It conveniently allows me to mark important messages. I can attach surprisingly large files to my letters. Search in my boxes that contain 10K messages includes both the subject and content and it is lightning fast. Now, about the innovations. Yahoo is constantly adding new features and modifying the interface. It’s often good, and often - annoying. Everybody hated “conversion” feature when many emails have been practically combined in one long impractical tail. Yahoo removed it. Now they introduced the resume of the letters, shown on a top of a message. They also voluntarily divided the messages to “favorites” and All. While it looks useful, it doesn’t not let the owner to change the designation and I assume many users, myself included, may not like it. Yahoo has been hacked once, but who wasn’t? They have improved the cybersecurity and since then there was no any incidents of that kind. I like Yahoo and stay with it as long as I am able to use the keyboard..GalvoronVersion: 10.6.0

Emails on folders disappearI am updating. Got a request about emails disappearing out of folders. Well I sent the developer a screenshot from Yahoo that says if you havent been in a folder in a year it empties those emails. Thats why we all keep folders of things we need or might need later. I had emails from my husband who passed away. I pulled up the folder I had, all emails gone. Then I started looking. Older folders, all emails were gone. Same thing happened to my sister. This means you have to click on the folders I assume once a month so those things you are keeping don’t disappear. This is ridiculous. I’ve always used yahoo and like it. But has anyone noticed in your email folders if you don’t go in them often all your emails that you’ve saved or just gone??. I create a folder for everything to include my doctors, etc. but if I have not gone into the folder in the last 30 days every email is gone. The purpose of folders is to say things you may have to go back and pull up later or information you may need later. I don’t think this is just me. It’s also happening to my sister and her account. TerribleUpdate: The original complaints have stopped, but I still don’t like it. I get the same spam over and over again...Squarespace is about to delete my nonexistent account and I have to update my credit information. I send every email to Spam and I’ve been doing it for at least a year. Does Spam mean anything? Is there no way for Yahoo to stop our spam? Also, if I send an email to 3 people and one responds, I read it and delete it. Another responds and both of the responses show up. I deleted the first one; why is it there? I delete them both, and the 3rd person responds, so all 3 responses show up. I end up with a whole line of emails when all I want to do is see the most recent. Why doesn’t “delete” mean “delete?” Original: Whenever I get an email with something to open, I just get a blank screen. For instance, I tried to add another email address, but had to change the password for that address. When I got the change the password email and clicked on it, I couldn't do it because I got a white screen with Only the time on top. Same happens if I get an attachment, coupon, etc. All I can do with this app is open word emails. Worse Than Apple “MAIL” appI’ve had a yahoo email account for over 20 years. When I got my first iPhone in 2023, Apple, more or less default to the use of their Apple “MAIL” app. For those unfamiliar, the Apple “MAIL” app allows you to SYNCH mail accounts from Gmail, Yahoo!, and other others all under one app. Recently, “Yahoo! Mail” has been pestering me to try their app and since my primary email account is a yahoo account, I figured oh this should be the best experience at least when viewing my Yahoo! Mail, right? WRONG! ! I find that a significant percentage of mail received at my Yahoo! Mail account will not display images properly that are embedded in those emails when viewed on the Yahoo! Mail branded app. I know… It makes no sense! I literally NEV ER have an issue with images, not displaying properly when Using the Apple “MAIL” app. And another disappointment with the yahoo version of their email app is that they try to charge you just to get through help. Because their “help” and frequently ask questions are garbage and actually don’t even address non-display of embedded images within an email messages. Instead, I as a 60-year-old person had to dig around and the only setting I found within the yahoo email app was a toggle button that actually could allow me apparently to turn off images from within an email… But the default setting is “off “and that is exactly what it is currently set Out right now. I am left with no alternative other than to delete the Yahoo! email app.… And it is inexcusable in the year 2025 that a third-party vendor like Apple has a more functional email app the Yahoo does when it comes to reading yahoo email accounts. Good but needs improvementI like Yahoo mail but two important features are missing, which I like better on outlook and Apple mail is 1. the ability to filter on specific senders with a date parameter over 30 days. Yahoo assumes anything you have over 30 days is not of value. Many of us buy online and have digital receipts to balance to our credit cards or other important emails. Wish I could filter using SENDER + >x days. Also I only want to delete what’s in my inbox. If I put it in a folder that means I want to keep it and NOT delete it. 2. The SPAM identifier appears to do nothing. Yahoo does not seem to have a way to block these mass mailers, I am not talking about legitimate ones. I’m referring to the ones that have the cryptic email handles with lots of numbers and letters, when you open them it’s very clear they use the same and the same technique to try to get you to provide them your credit card and address information. It would think it would be very easy for coders to block this type of stuff and turn it back on those guys and the IP address it’s coming from..Widget coolVersion: 7.1.0

Just not as goodI downloaded the app quite some time ago but after giving it a try, I closed it out and went back to the original Yahoo Mail that came on my phone. After several emails urging me to try it again, I re-downloaded it thinking maybe there had been improvements. IMO, the original is still far better for several reasons: 1) no ads - the original is free and has no ads; 2) I always start reading the oldest email first. On the new app when I delete an email, instead of scrolling up to the previous unread email, it goes down to the one I just read; 3) on most emails with the new app, the overall size of the email is reduced making it difficult to read; 4) on the new one, there is no way to move up or down the emails without backing out to the list; 5) when I check my spam folder, I have to back out to the folder screen in order to delete all. Granted, all are minor inconveniences, but taken all together, they're a pain in the derrière..LLarmonVersion: 4.22.2

Dark theme setting is glitching AGAIN...Monday, February 21, 2022: Developer(s,) Thanks for your prompt reply. I have completely uninstalled (deleted) the app, followed by rebooting the iPad (6th Generation) redownloaded it from the App Store, saved its Theme setting to its darkest option, however, the glitch remains, I've repeated this process three times already, the results have been the same, the app's dark Theme works on most of it with the exception of the eMails' contents. Friday, February 18, 2022: The eMails' content element is NOT applying the dark theme ever since the V 6.47.0 update of Feb. 16, 2022, however, this glitch is present ONLY on my iPad 6th Generation (OS 14.8.1) it is NOT present on my iPad Air 4th Generation (OS 14.8.1,) this issue appeared before (~ late 2020 or early 2021) and was subsequently corrected. Changes NeededYahoo mail has been my main email for well over twenty-five years. It has made several changes fairly recently that make it much less user-friendly than I can ever recall. For example, as I start going through my 300-plus emails that I receive on a daily basis, I like for the entire list to stay put from top to bottom. Now, suddenly the list will skip back to the top, and I realize I am skimming emails that I have already looked at. I have to scroll down and find where I was and resume, after clicking on “All” again. Sometimes I can’t even scroll past about mid-morning emails. Anytime I click onto an email, after reading it, the list will reset to the top once again, and start with “Priority “ and I have to re-set it to “All” once again. I always have to watch the time received so that the next time it zooms back to the top, I will be able to find my place once again. I find this very frustrating and unnecessary. Search engine needs major improvementI’ve used Yahoo Mail all my life and I still think it’s one of the better email services, but something really bad happened with them since my last review here. I didn’t use one of my yahoo addresses for a lot of years so Yahoo went ahead and erased all of my previous emails and completely emptied all of my boxes. That was a rather big inconvenience because I had some things I was hoping to reference years later. I understand the need for storage space but I wish you/they had warned me that this would happen when I first signed up, or something. It was kind of a loss. Also the search field and spam blocker is still not that great. I think it might’ve improved, but it’s still kind of bad. The amount of spam in my inbox still rivals the amount in the spam box. I hope they/you can improve that before long too, because I’m actually getting so much spam that I can’t afford to go through it anymore and it’s building up. Great except for the “Deals in this Email” that dramatically slow you downI’ve used the iPhone Mail app well...since I’ve had my first iPhone. I’ve also always had a yahoo email address, and had seen they completely overhauled the yahoo app a little while back. I tried it and it was fantastic!! It made moving through all the mail (including junk mail) so much easier and quicker by simply swiping from email to email! However then the “deals in this email” started popping up and that wouldn’t clear the “unread” status. I tried emailing support to ask if there was a way to disable the deals component as it was quite annoying to have to back out of the message and go back in to “clear”and was given a canned response “we can’t respond to all emails so try our support page/FAQ”.....well, I also don’t have to use your app and can go back to my mail app. Then an update came out and that was gone...but then it’s back. Long story short, the app is good and user friendly...except for the pain in the behind deals from this email stuff, which if it stays will likey push me back to my native email app..JsmithdmiVersion: 6.1

Very unhappyYou guys may have higher good reviews from your competitor , which sadly doesn’t mean it’s easy to work with yahoo for everyone. I understand that whatever restrictions I have found to change my password, may be good for my privacy, BUT, for a person like me that is not wise with technology, yahoo is not friendly at all. Help me see people emails among the tsunami of sales emails!Can you help me prioritize/ separate emails from people and minimize emails from companies advertising sales? I unsubscribe to many, but it is only a temporary relief. I do not want to unsubscribe to all stores as they’re helpful at times. ZERO Tech Support!I have been using yahoo Mail, probably since it was introduced. It has been my number one, go to, email program. I use it on my desktop, my iPad, and my iPhone. In the past week to 10 days, however, a glitch has appeared on yahoo Mail for iPad. When I open up the app, my mail inbox appears for an instant, and then the screen clears, and an ad appears that covers the entire screen. There is no way to clear the ad to get back to yahoo mail. When I exit the program, swipe it up to clear it from memory, and relaunched the app, the same thing happens. The only way I have been able to continue to use, yahoo Mail on my iPad is to delete the app, open the App Store, and re-install the app. I have sent emails to Yahoo tech-support, but I get a Robo-answer back. Basically it tells me to figure it out myself. I’ve been in the high-tech/computer industry since 1982. Apple products have been my preferred platform since the McIntosh was released in the mid 1980s (Including two years spent working for the IBM PC company back in the early 90s.) I would really like it if yahoo Tech Support would actually answer my question, and maybe release a fix, rather than sending me a list of FAQs to scroll through. None of them, by the way, had anything to do with the situation I am dealing with. After AOL, yahoo.As my title intimates, my mail requirements suddenly changed and I was searching. Several products appeared promising with a apparent good fit,but I was paranoid. I decided Yahoo was my choice primarily for the organization parameters like my own filing system. It wasn’t perfect, yet we both seem to have grown-up a bit together. Update: Functionalities are not working anymoreThank you for replying to my concern but I have another yahoo email account which performs exactly as the one I mentioned previously. If I type a letter in the address bar it will not bring up relevant email addresses to click and select as it was doing in past. You mentioned that you were not able to replicate the same issue on your end to test but then how come my other account is that way too? Therefore, I am not sure if it is not a system issue. If I can provide further details please let me know. I am a long long time yahoo email user but recently instead of seeing improvement in the functionalities I see exactly the opposite. A simplest thing to mention is that email Autofill/suggest option is no longer working. In past when you typed a letter or two all email addresses that match the letters would populate and you could click on the contact to have their email address in the address bar. Now you have to type in every single email address no matter how many times in past you sent emails to that address. If you sent emails back and forth with someone for few times you emails later cannot be found and/or it will not open up after clicking on it. If you search dor old email even if it comes up in the search the content will not show up. Likewise, the attachments would not show up. Ridiculous in one word. I am thinking of other options for migrating from this platform after almost 20 years..H2018AVersion: 7.40.0

Yahoo! Mail has gone downhillDo yourself a favor if you don’t have this app already don’t get it. pick any other maili app besides this one. Yahoo! Mail, has sunk a long way since its inception many years ago. The app is terrible: it tracks every single thing you do on your phone and shows ads based on that. I am an old timer on yahoo and I originally got it because of the large size limit. Now, they have changed the limit limits lowering them drastically and then making you pay if you go over the limit. They didn’t grand father in old accounts with lots of mail collected in them. Right around when the size limit came to affect they also started taking every calendar entry you make and putting it in your sent mail file.. They never did this before. They are doing it now so that customers will go over the limit of emails allowed and have to pay Yahoo more money. The other thing that happened when the new limit went into place is that lots of spam mail started coming and no matter how many times you market spam it doesn’t stop it. It just keeps coming and coming. I’m pretty sure yahoo is sending this mail as another way to get us over the limit so they can charge us. I have written to customer service contacted them. They don’t even reply. They just don’t care. They don’t give a shoot. Verizon PocketsI’ve been a Verizon customer for longer than I should have been. Although I realize this is no ones fault but mine I still think that this posting may help guide a potential customer to rethink about becoming a Verizon customer. I have 3 cell phones on my account all of which are Nation wide service only. I have no use for international calling. My bill continues to grow as Verizon keeps updating their equipment. They lower their internet speed as you monthly data depletes. They will be more than happy to raise your data/speed if you agree to a higher payment. As a paying customer with multiple cell phones I am also a Verizon FIOS customer for my home phone, internet and land phone service. All this at over $500 a month. Still, they lower my speed because they want an unlimited everything customer. I pay my bill and nearly as soon as it’s paid they immediately text me my next bill. Many times with offers to purchase new equipment and plans. I will not argue the fact that they have very good service coverage but it comes with a high price tag. I would recommend to all to seek a different provider that will offer unlimited everything at a price half of Verizon. I know that I will be moving to a company that values customer loyalty along without deep cuts to their finances. It seems to me that Verizon wants every single penny they can get out of a person and they take steps to force a customer to buy their most expensive plans. Revenge for a bad review?Since posting a dissatisfied review and receiving a snarky response, my email has been jerked around. First, I was asked for password, which I entered correctly. Locked out for 24 hours for too many log in attempts. I tried once. Now I keep getting forwarded to an AT&T log in. After 90 minutes on the phone with AT&T, and jumping through hoops including changing my password, I get an AT&T email format and I have to log in twice each time. And the last person I spoke to finally said you need to call Yahoo. It took 3 people and 90 minutes to tell me that? An account that I have not had any problems accessing in years, suddenly doesn’t work, after a bad review about lacking very limited basic services like blocking an email address (yahoo email allows 3rd party spam in from the same address). When your base product is bad, why would anyone do more business with you by purchasing Yahoo plus? Try giving a good product where people get a good impression of Yahoo, and then they may want more from your company. While I prefer the Yahoo format, I have never had any of these problems with my Gmail accounts. “Decent email except that they charge you extra to allow you the simple task of blocking an email. And they let spam through everyday. I would have never bothered getting a Yahoo email had I known that in advance. They also send their own junk emails everyday. So sick of junk emails. The mail pro is only working on one email accountI am an AT&T customer for wireless, home internet, etc. I have been paying the annual subscription for several years to have the mail pro benefits, mainly no ads. I have multiple email accounts I use, all AT&T, under my home internet account. Prior to the last app update, I wasn't seeing ads on any of these email accounts. Now, it's only the primary one. If I try to turn them off, it tells me that feature is only available through that primary email and wants me to pay a per month amount to remove the ads on the other accounts. Is this an intentional change or accidental with the last update? Because if it's intentional, I'll be finding another app to use and will cancel my subscription. I pay enough to AT&T already and I don't feel that I should have to pay for each email address. Run and Hide from this app, and Yahoo Mail altogether!I opened my Yahoo account in 2005 for the sole purpose of having a “throw-away” email address, to use in places I didn’t want to give my primary email address. I used it infrequently and stopped using it altogether around 2012. Now, in 2022, ten years later, no one, and I mean NO ONE has my yahoo email address. I use it for NOTHING. In searching for a potential new email client I came upon Yahoo Mail and started reading the reviews. I saw a lot of recent comments regarding a large preponderance of unfiltered spam. I decided to check my Yahoo email, which I still have but NEVER use. Lo and behold, the inbox is suddenly flooded with spam. Between 2005 and June of 2022, I literally had about 15 spam emails. In June of this year, the floodgates opened. From June 2022 - Jan 2023, I have 260 spam emails, of which only 30 were caught by the spam filter. Now let’s think about this. I have not given this email out to anyone in over ten years. How could I be receiving spam? The only way this email address is out in the wild is if Yahoo gave/sold it to someone. There is no other explanation. It’s pretty clear to me that your privacy means nothing to Yahoo. This combined with the fact that they are either unable or unwilling to stop the flow of spam into your inbox, users should be abandoning ship here post haste. Why are you giving my account back to hackers ?This company has cost me thousands allowing a hacker to access all my info. I sent them numerous police reports and they did nothing. I also had two step verification and have access to both phone numbers on this account. The did nothing. I have contacted the attorney general and videotaped how I have the passwords , both phones , also fingerprint. The reason is this company has another breach they have a computer on my account that is listed and can’t be removed no option for that. I have told them this. We are going on 12 weeks and they are allowing it. I have tried to close it for them to give it right back so to information. When a hacker has all your info of course they can answer questions. Worst Ever: Yahoo Mail - The Newer Crappier AOLRemember how horrible AOL was, and how excited we all were to leave that mess? Well let me introduce hot mess 2021 - Yahoo Mail. They are nice enough to sell your personal data to their partner sites without your permission. Go to settings. Go to Privacy Dashboard. Click the underlined words “privacy dashboard”, and you can see each individual partner, what data they are collecting, and who they’re selling it to. If you have 30 minutes to spare you can go into each partner and “opt out”. But wait…..there’s more. In the case of three of their partners, you will need to perform this action on a daily basis, because Yahoo Mail loves you so much that they’re gonna opt you right back in the following day. I’ve sent feedback regarding this. Especially since I am a resident in a State that has very specific guidelines regarding the sale of my personal data, and my ability to opt out of such practices. I don’t expect a response or resolution- that would be too much like “the right thing to do”, so I will post this as fair warning to anyone using, or looking to use this mail platform- They’re going to sell your data. Useless UI changes, cluttered and with ads05 October 2022 update. They have now moved the unread mail button from the bottom of the screen to half off the top and replaced all the useful buttons with stuff I don’t need in an email app, like shopping and recipes. Now with years off muscle memory you will just be clicking shopping all the time instead of unread, the funny part, I already had folders for “shopping”. This app has become so cluttered with crap, the only reason I have not uninstalled it, is because of the Authenticator. Older complaints. An email app has one job, to download emails. This app does not even do that. Most of the time it says your box is empty and all the other times, you can't read your emails as they don't download. Also had it using my location without asking and it does not need my location for downloading emails, and by use my location, I do mean that it was tracking my phone constantly without stopping. I had to go into the phone setting manually stop it from using my location service. The last problem with this app, there is an ad at the top of every email folder or box that looks like an email, but is really and ad. I would use any other email app than this crap, it used to work. Every update gets worseI don’t even know where to start. The spam filters are incredibly bad. I’m still getting the same spam messages to my inbox after marking each and everyone of them as spam. Additionally emails from companies I like to see, are getting put into spam that I never marked as such. And then there’s the “select all” button. I always mark all emails in my inbox as read just so I can clear the notifications. I used to be able to press one button to “select all” for ONLY that days emails. They got rid of that option so now I have to manually select each individual email or select all 70k emails to mark 30 as read, which takes a minute to shuffle through that many emails. Very annoying. The last thing I can think is if the notifications on my Home Screen (for iPhone). When I look at my notifications, while not in the app itself, each email notification DOES NOT disappear once I’ve opened the email. Also these notifications don’t get grouped together the way most other app notifications do so once again I have to go through and individually delete every notification for every email I receive. “Inbox highlights” will not stop and unreliable deliveryCan’t get rid of the inbox highlights reminding me of upcoming events and asking if I want to revisit those emails. No, no, I don’t. I’ve tried turning off all the inbox highlights in settings—no dice, they’re still sitting at the top of my inbox. I’ve tried the hamburger menu on each “highlight”, clicking to turn off all highlights about this reminder. Still there! Then back to the “highlight” hamburger menu again, clicking to clear the highlight—it goes away, but returns as soon as I leave and return to the app! I star important emails and have reminders set up to alert me 15-30 minutes before anything I need to be reminded about; I don’t need a constant banner in the app reminding me of things that are days or weeks away. If I clear the highlight, I want it to stay gone! If I turn off all the highlights in settings, it means I really don’t want any highlights! Then there’s the fact that Yahoo! doesn’t deliver all my incoming mail—it’ll bounce some messages (sometimes due to size, but not always!) without any alert to me or the person sending the message. I don’t want to sound entitledYahoo! has truly become a terrible email service in the last 3 years or so. Before, there would be one or two SPAM emails that would get through the SPAM filters, in place, every month or so. Now it seems that everyday there are multiple SPAM emails that make it through to my inbox and it’s fairly annoying. I have to keep marking them all SPAM but that’s not stopping anything. I’ve had this email address for 10 years, but it’s time for a change. I’ll be looking to close all of my Yahoo! email accounts and move over to Gmail. I’ve noticed that the email address I’ve had for 12 years with Gmail has not gotten more than a handful of SPAM emails in my inbox over the last 12 years! Spoofing issues on my yahoo emailsA few months ago I started having problems with my iPhone and iPad and everything was giving me problems! Called every Technician I could use and they thought I was crazy because they said there was no problems with my devices or WiFi! Update is terrible; Should be able to opt in or out of experimental trials of appI hate the most recent update. I prefer to be able to edit my inbox day by day, not by sender. DistractingAs an Uber driver the constant and flow of unwanted advertisements interferes with the GPS and I almost had two accidents because I am constantly taking my eyes off the road to see something coming in when I’m trying to navigate. Service needs improvement:Signing up for an Ad free business service, and a few years later finding out Yahoo has started to target personalized ads in my inbox is very disappointing and dishonest way of making additional money off of your already paying customers. I rather have paid a rate increase, than a policy change that fetches my data, and Targets ads to me. Also, on one of the Yahoo updates, Yahoo completely stopped supporting email aliases that started with a numerical digit. One of my main email aliases that I had used for hundreds of login accounts, was deleted by yahoo without warning, which locked me out of dozens of service providers that I had used that email to create my accounts, with no way for me to recover those account without the old email address. And in most technsupport cases, after navigating the labyrinth of robots, the process of getting to a human tech support is very timely and frustrating. Bad Business PlanI’ve been an ATT/ Yahoo customer since 2016 and have found that it’s nearly impossible to correct issues with this combination of ATT, Currently and Yahoo. When I switched to ATT, I found that all I had was a Yahoo account. My email had a ATT address, but it was routed through Yahoo. If I had wanted a Yahoo account, I would have never gone to ATT. This past week, I’ve been on the phone with ATT and Currently for several hours trying to resolve issues with the different routers communicating with one another. This affected my laptop and IPHONE. I shave talked with several people who tried to help and one last night helped me with the computer. They couldn’t help with the phone because somehow it was routed through a tv service called Uverse. They gave me a phone number for Uverse and they found the issue and resolved it. Funny thing is, I don’t have Uverse as my service for the tv. All of the people who tried to help were Great , professional and tried to be helpful. The problem is with the products. I wish I had never switched to ATT. DO NOT GET YAHOOOI have had the same account for 20 years. Been a loyal customer for 20 years. I guess they updated their systems because they do not want to use Ymail anymore. They basically blocked me from my account. I am raveling and need that account to get all my information. They will not take my state passport or state passport ID provided by the state of Texas they will on take a drivers licenses. This is obviously another scam, why would I need a drivers licenses to get into my email? It gets email!Outside of retrieving email, this app is not very user friendly. The Apple email app, which is already present and cannot be deleted, is equally as good, if not better. Or there are other apps like gmail that are cleaner and easier to use, even with yahoo accounts. After the initial review (above), Yahoo contacted me to ask me to tell them how to make their product better. I will try to put this into perspective. The Yahoo app is like a stiff version of Apple mail. Things are placed awkwardly and do not function smoothly or easily. And when I set up an account, my first attempt didn't go as I wanted it to. So I set up a second, duplicate account, thinking I could delete the first. But the app will only allow me to delete the correct account. The incorrect one does not show under Manage Accounts. The only way I can see to eliminate it is to kill the app and start over. As stated previously, my review is that until Yahoo does their own homework, there are better apps to handle your email. I recommend trying a side-by-side comparison with this app, the Apple app and the Gmail app. Then you can make up your own mind. Auto-deletes mail / terrible Sent Items folderThis app wouldn’t be too bad, except that it auto-deletes your inbox email after a certain number of days. Everything online says that the app does not do this and that it is due to other settings, but I have checked every other setting imaginable, and all my settings are fine. There is no reason why this should be happening. There is definitely something flawed in the app. Also, frustratingly, the Sent Items folder displays the “from” address instead of the “to” address, so it is very difficult to see who you were sending emails to since every “from” address is obviously going to be me. I don’t doubt that the developer is telling the truth when they say that they have not seen this problem before, but the fact remains that I am using their app, and it is indeed moving emails of a certain age from my inbox into the Trash folder. I have no idea why this is happening, but other settings within my iPhone should not be affecting what the Yahoo Mail app does, so it is indeed a mystery. Slowest email experience everI downloaded this app because I kept getting notices that the preloaded mail app on my iPad would no longer work with a yahoo account. It has been an extremely frustrating experience. The app takes at least 30 seconds to load every time I open it. Then the deals for any newsletter I’m subscribed to display display at the top and it takes 15+ seconds to unfreeze before I can scroll down to read the message. When I delete a message it takes another 20+ seconds to move on to the next one. Flipping from my inbox to another folder isn’t even worth it. When composing an email, if I have to exit the app to look something up in Safari (like how to spell a word, etc.), it usually will reload when I come back and I have to go find the message in my drafts. (Even if I was only gone for less than a minute.) Every action takes forever. Also, formatting text is extremely limited. I can’t even change font sizes, indent paragraphs, nor make bullet points. Not an email any moreYahoo used to be the best of the best, now it’s worse than google, useless features, constant bombardment of ads and no privacy. Yuck. Update: ‘developer’ requested feedback but unclear how to contact unless I signup and pay for yahoo+, no thanks. So I’ll give more feedback here… useless features: on the bottom of the page are the folder access button, something called shopping, something called receipts and so on, not sure what the purpose is for these, but this is useless to me. A good feature would be an option to block spam, of which there is a sort of feature that offers to unsubscribe, however if you use this feature you apparently open yourself to a massive spam attack, for me using this feature once has resulted in between 500 & 1000 spam emails per day, so much for privacy on yahoo mail. I’d quit them, except occasionally someone will contact me via yahoo email, bummer. App CrashesI have a lot of unwanted subscriptions and I thought the ability to unsubscribe to them was a really great feature until I started using it. After unsubscribing to a few of them, the app will crash and I’ll have to unsubscribe all over again. It’s a pain and honestly makes me not want to use the app at all. If you want to see the emails you have sent, forget about it. That isn’t a feature they give to you. There are ads and you have to pay if you want certain features, like blocking. You can also try to mark all of your unread messages as read, but the app will most likely crash on you after the second attempt. Last thing I’ll complain about, the spam is absolutely ridiculous. All of the spam is in my inbox even after I’ve been marking them as spam and the important emails from friends and lawyers are being sent over to my spam box, It doesn’t make any sense. It’s the worst part about this entire app. Overall, not the best experience with this app and I really went in wanting to enjoy it. Save your self a head ache. they literally just want you to use “support” features to which THEY CHARGE. They created a problem then sold A resolution; at the USERS expense. I really don’t like yahoo any more because of its unnecessary security. not being able to log into your account even have to put in the password incorrectly is a big problem for me. Yahoo will literally run you in this circle over and over and over again until you finally go and pay for their support feature. which is only prospering because of our and unfair access to our emails. I almost feel like it’s a slap in the face and they’re saying “hey if you really want to get into this email you will pay for the support”. This is yahoo not Cash app and I said that to say this why do you really need that much security on a yahoo account that isn’t even the most popular at that? Yahoo is not trending right now as a target to massive cyber threat!! I’m pretty sure Cash app and banking apps would be targeted first in the event of some massive cyber threat. the verification is unfair and unnecessary and there are other ways that we could do this (such as a selfie video to prove who we are ) however that option amongst others were not given and will not be given because that would make them lose money with their support agenda. In my opinion Google is more popular than yahoo but even Google will let me log into my account on a different device as long as the credentials are put in correctly. Feedback regarding the new Yahoo Mail user interfaceI am writing to share my feedback about the current layout of Yahoo Mail. To be honest, the new interface feels quite cluttered and overwhelming to use. The current design and excessive visual elements actually cause eye strain after using it for a short while. The previous layout was already excellent—it had a clean, friendly look, and was very intuitive to navigate. I don't understand why such a functional design needed to be changed to something so chaotic. The new placement of elements makes it incredibly hard to manage my inbox efficiently. I really hope the design team can consider simplifying the layout, bringing back the user-friendly look of the older version, or at least providing a classic/minimalist option. RonI have three accounts on yahoo. I wanted to change my passwords on all three accounts. I wanted you use the same password for all three accounts. So I followed the instructions very carefully and entered the new password for each account which was exactly the same password for all of them. On two of the accounts I was successful but unable to do so for the third account even though it was exactly the same as the first two. So I tried again and kept getting code numbers to my phone, emails to one of my other accounts, which I followed to the letter, only to get something about an oyster.
