World in the Palm of your Hand!I like this app. Very helpful for building geographical literacy! I’d also suggest buying it as part of the bundle which includes a USA by state map and a by country facts database. The detailed world map is a Mercator (cylindrical) projection which of course becomes increasingly horizontally distorted as you leave the equator. The other world maps look to be of a Robinson or similar (pseudo cylindrical) projection which is a bit better. Unlike Google Earth, these world maps are entirely usable off line. Sweet! A suggestion I’d have is to make the various world maps available in a wider selection of projection types. Perhaps Boggs Eumorphic? What would really be cool is to add a true 3D globe format where you could spin the globe and zoom in on a region. This would really help with gaining a better sense of landmass and spacial relationships between regions. Thanks for designing this app!!!.Version: 4.6

Annoying pop upThe app is OK except for the permanent ad at the bottom to download Voyager. When I close it, I get a Google ad that I can’t get rid of. Really annoying! Will probably delete because of this..Version: 4.5

Great world map with lots of detailI really like this map that has states included with major and some miner towns with roads between them. You con also search all of the country capitals and names. Note that you can scroll the list if names but be careful the list doesn’t return to the top so you can miss something if you scroll too far down. There is also a time zone map which is useful but doesn’t show the state boundaries which is unfortunate since they move a lot depending on the state..Version: 3.7
World Map (pay version): Needs revisionsI downloaded the free version, then decided to purchase the more comprehensive paid version which includes political maps and time zones. Today after reading about an Ivory Coast terrorist incident, I looked up the city mentioned in the article and could not find it! I had to check Wikipedia to determine that the Ivory Coast is next to Liberia. The problem with this map is not all cities can be found when looking them up in the search bar. When you type in a city name, you get all kinds of references to cities in every different country of the same or similar name. This is quite confusing, and typing a specific city name in the search bar should take you to the specific country in which the city is located. My opinion is this app needs work..Version: 3.4
A good app if you just want a political world mapI was looking for a simple world map app a while back and couldn't find one for free. Now I see this in the top free apps in this category and it gets poor reviews. I try it and it's fast and exactly what I wanted. Just the world map when I want to see where a country is in the world and what its neighbors are. I'm not sure what other reviewers were expecting but this has satisfied my expectations. And c'mon - how many world maps include the divisions of the individual US states? Some people....Version: 0
There's wrong name.Actually, i love this application but i really disappointed.. that's why i gave u 4 stars ..:) The problem is ... Sea name:( I saw the sea name that is sea of japan. It is wrong. That sea name is originally East-Sea. Plz check and change.. I insist that name because that is imperialistic things(Korea was colonized by Japan). And that sea closed to South-Korea and Russia and Japan and North-korea. And important thing is it's not alright to use specific country's name. For example, Uk and Denmark and German used their own sea name. However, they come to an agreement to use 'North-Sea'. And i saw ur app wrote North-Sea. How weird... Moreover, there's a history of sea. Actually East sea had used for 2000yeas, Sea of japan had used for only 400 years... And there's more evidence. Anyways, my conclusion is plz change the name of sea. Thank u for reading and sorry for poor writing..cuz i'm not English speaker, i know there's a lot of wrong sentence..:( plz have a mercy :) Thank u..Version: 2.4
Great Basic ResourceI use this all the time for basic reference- it's so nice to quickly pull this up while listening to the news or when I just need a refresher about where a particular country is located. Certainly quicker than leafing through an atlas. Sure, not tons of details, but for a free app gives you a decent amount of info. Excellent MapVery detailed world map showing a massive collection of cities, rivers, and water bodies and their respective names with a search function for cities and countries. Of geopolitical note, it lists Taiwan and mainland China as the same country, “China”, rather than ROC or PRC, and shows the unrecognized states of Transnistria, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Nagorno-Karabakh/Artsakh, Northern Cyprus, Palestine (West Bank and Gaza), Somaliland, and Western Sahara as greyed up sections with no names attached (with the exception of the latter which says “Western Sahara (Occupied by Morocco)”). Two mistakes I noticed: the capital of Greenland uses its old Danish name of Godthab when it should probably show the current, Greenlandic name of Nuuk, and Tanzania’s capital is listed as Dar-es-Salaam (the largest city) when the capital is actually Dodoma..Version: 4.5
