I trust their reporting, enjoy the shows and commentators, and check the app multiple times a day for updates. The content itself is excellent and exactly what I’m looking for. Unfortunately, the app itself is one of the worst I use on a regular basis. The constant pop-up ads are incredibly intrusive — they appear while reading articles, interrupt videos, and make the whole experience frustrating. It feels like the ads are more important than the actual news. Navigation can be clunky too, and it just doesn’t feel polished. I’ll keep using it because the journalism is what matters to me, but Fox really needs to fix the app and tone down the aggressive advertising. Shamefully annoying ad assaultThis app should be a 5 star app, but it does everything it can to try to make you stop using it. Who is in charge of this?I’m a right-leaning person who should be Fox News’s target audience, but even I can’t stand this app. Besides the absurd number of ads, the most frustrating part is all the clickbait push notifications. A big news story will occur and the Fox News app will send out a push notification that references it, but *deliberately* obfuscates the headline so that the notification doesn’t actually tell you anything. It’s all headlines like “Big verdict reached in Supreme Court case”. Always deliberately ambiguous, so that you have to tap the notification and open the app to see what the clickbait is saying. And even when you do, the app’s splash screen takes forever to load. This kind of thing pisses off potential readers to no end.
