ISequence HD Positive Reviews

Great app don't kill itInstead give it a little more love... Inter app and or audiobus please.. I loved this app since it first came out the sounds are great...Version: 2.8

AmazingI kid you not when I say that now that this has updated to the current iOS. It is amazing and very well made. It's got great samples and so many effects and different ways to change and arrange and control. It's not perfect. Cuz if it was it'd cost hundreds of dollars. So for the price we pay it is great. The extra sound packs are amazing!! I've used them all but the loops so I don't know about those. Overall, a fun and enjoyable app that you can make full songs with..Version: 2.8

Audio copy makes this even better!Update: I can’t believe that 8 years later I’m still using this app and it’s still supported! Thank you!! iSequence is the gift that keeps on giving. Sure I bought it for myself, but months later the updates keep making it better and better. Audiocopy works perfectly with Multi-Track DAW, so no longer do I need to use Beatmaker on my iPad to lay down beats. Proper Multi-tasking support will make this process even easier! Can't wait for that to be added too. This is one of the most expensive apps I have paid for ($15+) that continues to be worth it! Can't recommend it enough. It's helped teach me how to make music..Version: 2.9

THANK YOU FOR THE UPDATE!!!I almost cried when I lost this app to iOS 11. Thank you for making it work again! Even though it is still not compatible with AudioBus, I love it. Great app!!!.Version: 2.9

Thank you for the update!I’m so glad you decided to update this for iOS11. Thanks for standing behind your product..Version: 2.9

This is a great app.Thank you for the much-needed update. I hope to see major updates in the future..Version: 2.8

THE BestI sit on planes a lot. This is what I do and I love it. It's so much fun and the sounds are really great. Worth every penny. I wish I could bk up to drop box!.Version: 2.8

Hey Goldilocks...Not to hard, not to soft. Not to hot, not to cold. This app is JUST RIGHT ! At least update for current iOS compatibility. "I'm working here!".Version: 2.8

Need AudioCopyAwesome sounds in this app. I just need AudioCopy to work. Please fix. Thank you..Version: 2.9

Old standbyEasy to use, great sounds. Get this app you won't regret it..Version: 2.8

A couple fixes would make this app best in it's class!I use this app the most out of all my music production apps, I love it and the price was fair. However, there are a couple fixes that would make it just..... PERFECT! If iSequence had more tracks to play more than 8 instruments per pattern, that would help out a lot. Because more than 8 tracks per pattern do not exist, I'm forced the use more than 1 instrument per track, up to 4 at times , which can be continuously frustrating, because it limits the amount of times I can play an instrument during the track, and if the bpm is higher, there's even less you can do. Also, every time I start iSequence, it is already in record mode, this is extremely annoying, and have caused me to make unintended changes to my beats by merely holding the iPad. Then I have to exit the program or select another beat without saving the current state of the unintended changes. I love the fact that I can import my own sounds. Thanks beep street!.Version: 2.2

Great Sound and Easy to UseI was looking for a 32 step polyphonic sequencer/song writer that could drive a Sunrizer iSynth. I checked out some of the others and decided to go with iSequence and I'm SO glad I did. The sound is rich, effects breathtaking, and the interface is incredibly easy to use. You can select external compatible devices by MIDI channel as easily as you would an internal instrument. I immediately downloaded the Beat Elements, Trance Waves, and Acoustic IAPs. Now I have a choice of 330 bell-ringingly clear instruments, kits, and sounds for the kind of music I am interested in. Only 8 events can occur at any moment. For polyphony you have to use multiple tracks. However, you can put any instrument/note combination in any track. So you can actually use dozens of different sounds in your song as long as no more than 8 of them play at one time. A helpful user guide is readily accessed. You can control the effects parameters graphically for each of the pattern steps. Automation is recorded live. This won't replace a computer workstation DAW but you can't take your workstation everywhere. All this is an unbelievable value. I was composing a beat within 5 minutes of purchase and may never leave the house again..Version: 2.6

My most useful music app thus farThe more time I spend with iSequence the more I love this app. I feel the user interface design is well thought out and allows me to quickly develop musical ideas on go. With the option to record live, use step input or even record at half tempo it is really easy to put a track together. I also love the ability to export my loops directly to beatmaker or looptastic (via audioview) and play them live. Some of the factory sounds are little thin but plenty of good sounds to work with (with the upcoming sampler this won't be an issue for me). The effects are pretty nice and the ability to record the knob tweaks live or create and adjust automation envelopes with just the drag of a finger is fantastic. The developer has always been quick to respond to my questions and seems to provide excellent updates to his products. According to his website he is planning on adding a sampler with adsr envelopes enabling us to create our own instruments by the end of May. My only other gripe was the solo only keyboard but again the next update is bringing a poly mode. Well done!.Version: 0

Fantastic!I have been waiting for a decent music sequencer for the iPad since I first got mine on the day they were released; and this one met most of my expectations. If you have experience with music sequencers on other platforms you will have a bit of an adjustment period. Once I got my head around the fact that a track was just 32 events, not tied to any particular instrument, I was off and running. It could stand for the addition of a few features and I will eagerly be awaiting future updates. It's limitations are well explored in the other reviews I have read. I find, however, that being constrained by limitations often leads me in new creative directions. I am used to paying several hunted dollars for computer sequencing programs so plopping down a few bucks for this App and a dollar for a sound banks didn't bother me in the least. Instead of listing all the problems with this App here, which others have done so well, I will be sending my suggestions to the developer with the hope that that they use some of my suggestions to improve this fun and quite useful application. iSequence has tons of potential!.Version: 0

Very good! Not only is it a descent sequencer it's a powerful play live instrument!! It has never crashed on my iPad 1G even with several other apps loaded which is quite a compliment to the developer since my iPad has 1/2 the app memory of all iDevices from the last two years. The built in help is very comprehensive. Good job! To post titled "No dice" there is a restore purchases button at the bottom of the same screen that you buy add ons from. Also, without providing what device you are using and what trouble-shootings steps tried (assuming any have been done) the post really isn't of much help to would be buyers (I chose to buy it anyway based on the other reviewers comments and I'm very glad that I did). Have you tried closing all apps except for iSequence HD? Have you reset your device? Have you tried deleting it and re-downloading it (and restoring purchases)?.Version: 2.4

Oh the music you can make!I've had this app for quite a while and never realized many of the things it can do. Tonight I recorded some samples into it, and learned to use per track filters. One of the samples was recorded using the iPad microphone. Two of the others were imported from Animoog. I think I can import from GarageBand, too. To get the delay and reverb just right I looped one of the pages and adjusted the knobs with the sound playing. It is that easy. There are some additional packs of sound samples, called banks, you can download into iSequence. To help you decide which one you want you can listen to an mp3 sample highlighting what is included in the bank. I think my next bank will be the techno. I do like the Beat Elements, too, though. You can listen to samples on their web site, also..Version: 2.7

The serious ios music studio! The iPad version of this app is miles beyond the iPod version. Any music studio app on these devices will be limited right now, but this one gets the closest to being dangerous in a good way :-) It takes a little time to get used to the hybrid tracker-style sequencer and instrument layout, but it is useful. Some great features are that you can chain patterns to make songs, record notes, easy save and move around data, and use your own samples. The GUI/UI is also commendable. I would love to see more effect types with more parameters, easier sample import, filters with envs for the instruments, automation of more parameters, editable parameters per drum pad (tune/decay/volume/pan), and drum sample selection on the fly. Also the mixer faders are sometimes non responsive. Thanks!.Version: 0

AmazingFantastic app. Very easy to use. For those who have never used a sequencer this is a great way to get started. Simple to pick up yet offering incredible depth and power. If you're looking to get started writing sequenced compositions or just recording backing tracks to play along with, this is a solid option. I ride the bus to work each day and use that thirty minutes to either read, draw, or write music. iSequencer is a great way to express some creativity first thing in the morning or on the way home from work. Export is easy to do and can be used to integrate with other multi-track software. I use iSequencer to sketch out the landscape of a composition and then fill out the parts with piano, guitar, and voice..Version: 2.2

No Sound WorkaroundBeepStreet contacted me directly to report the problem is between the program and iOS 6, which he is working to remedy. he said the current workaround is to quit the program and delete it from the multitasking bar (double home) and start it again. this works perfectly. this procedure must be used after each sleep or quitting. i full well expect JJ at BeepStreet to have his fix soon and am a very happy camper. i LOVE this program. eating my original review: just as with BeepStreet's Pro Keys App, iSequence runs 1 time. let the iPad go to sleep or quit the App and open it again and there is no sound output. after no joy with 'contact' over Pro Keys, i won't bother trying again with this App. it's a shame because it looks so promising..Version: 2.6

WowI finally found a sequencer that functions like it should. ISequence allows you to paint songs or record your playing via keyboard or drum pads. The interface is logical and easy to use. This honestly is the only app out of the many that I bought and downloaded that allows me to get my song ideas down from beginning to end. This sequencer has great sounds and allows you to import your own as well. It just amazes me how this beats the socks off of the big boys. This is easy on the eyes, has great sounds, and actually allows a good sketch of your musical ideas. This is a sequencer with substance. It skips the eye candy that others feed you and get you want you need: music creation at your finger tips..Version: 2.7

Incredible upgradeThis is one of the best music apps for the iPad hands down. I felt that way with version 1, but the developers have not stopped there. With this new update, not only has the UI undergone a perfect update, but the new effects are awesome. The new sound packs are great and affordable. The only thing that could possibly make this app better would be the ability to record on more than 8 tracks (and maybe the ability to adjust the sequencer resolution), but even without those features, this is a phenomenal music production app. Do not hesitate to buy this! Well done developers, thank you for continuing to make a great product even better!.Version: 0

Sample Import Has Serious ProblemsThis is a great program, and one of the best music making apps for iPad. There are lots of sounds to choose from and you can make professional music with this app. However, there are some serious problems with the new sample import feature: 1. You can only import one sample at a time. This makes importing folders of samples SLOW and PAINSTAKING. If you want to add your whole sample collection, it will take FOREVER. 2. The sample import function will crash the program if you take too long to add samples. You have to be really fast, otherwise the program will suddenly close and you will have to restart it. It can become frustrating very quickly. If BeepStreet can fix these issues, I'll change my rating to five stars. Otherwise, it only gets 4 because for me, the sample import feature is key. I hardly used it before they added that feature, because the built-in sounds are good but limiting. It sure would be nice if they added a synth and more effects. Just delay and a filter aren't much, and the iPad is certainly capable of much more..Version: 0

Really SuperIn the 80's, is kind of functionality would have cost $1000. It's amazing that we have this level of functionality out of portable devices. This is a great addition to the arsenal of iPhone/iPad instruments. The upcoming improvements, both those stated by the developer and those that you can feel are coming (ability to loop groups of patterns?) will make it something special. The patches are very good and the export options outstanding. Good for the developer for trying to get some longer term income out of their hard work with sensible in-app purchases. I will give up a couple of lattes to support this work..Version: 0

Genome + IsequenceI really like the straightforwardness of genome. Genome pairs well with sampletank. Only there is a better use with Isequence which improves upon sample tank in so many ways. Sounds - gobs of sounds. You need to drop $40 for a sound package in ST. No way. But sampletank lines up with 4 midi instruments. This should work for isequence too. It doesn't. Set up a simple pattern in genome. You won't hear anything until you leave genome playing and enter Isequence. Hit top record and press screen. You now have a pattern playing, following finger taps. Hit bottom record and you have lines of the pattern running across screen. Having selected a drum parameter for instrument and you have some interesting tracks. Genome doesn't work with isequence as well as sampletank. There is no midi in on IS, only midi out is my guess. Still it is an interesting combination. And the songs in Genome will play on one instrument in IS. For making songs with measure accuracy which you don't have in IS, Genome becomes a good companion. I think there is room for getting them to work together. At least I hope so..Version: 2.6

Small Improvements could make a Big DifferenceThis app was my first full music creator app and after a few days I have got it figured out. This app is fantastic for creating great songs however a few changes could make it even easier to use 1 An undo button- Not sure how this is not there 2 A more user friendly song sequencer- right now if you erase a pattern it goes away and I causes a lot of gaps in my song pattern. Also a way to switch the paternal by dragging them would help. 3. An easier way to bounce selections. If you could highlight a section and make it into one track without changing an instrument it would be easier. Also when I do bounce a selection it plays muted on the first track 4. Instead of notes, the names of the sounds in the drum presets and separate banks for the drum presets Another thing that would make this app awesome would be to use all the synth presets from your other 5 star app "Sunrizer Synth".Version: 2.4

Okay but could be a lot betterI have to say that I'm a little disappointed with this one. It's good for what it does but it has the potential to be a lot better. The main problem is that you can't import your own samples so you're limited to the built-in sounds or the ones that you can download (for an extra charge). There are a lot of instruments but most of them don't sound that good. Also the interface is confusing: the distinction between a track and a group and an instrument is not at all clear or intuitive. Finally, considering the size of the iPad's screen, it would be nice if the keyboard and drum pads were larger..Version: 0

Super Intuitive InterfaceI have bought most all music creation apps, and out of the box this was by far the easiest to jump in and start composing with. You can purchase more banks, but the sounds with the base app are solid, and I was able to completely compose, arrange, and mix a track within the first hour of use. There's also multiple export formats, and sweet effects. The ability to import would be nice too though, or copy/paste between other apps, like beat maker and 4 track. I want to add vocals to this track now, but will have to export to some other app in order to do so. Overall this app is certainly one of the best sequencers I've seen, but will have to continue using some others that support midi import for now. I hope they make some nice updates, this has the potential to be to my favorite music creation app with a few additions. Nice work..Version: 0

Pretty robust appFirst of all...thanks so much for the update for ipad2. And thanks for the bpm buttons!!!! This is a pretty good in depth sequencer. Still learning all the tricks and hoping to import a lot of my Sony acid loops. The included sounds are just average, but I import all my real keyboard work anyway (wavs). Since I bought an ipad2 mainly for audio work, this app appears to be the most robust. GarageBand is little more than a toy, no control. This app is more conducive to creating real songs with complicated controls. Great app, thanks again. Looking foreword to continued support and future releases..Version: 2.2

Major funI love this app. It's extremely easy to use and the interface is one of the most intuitive for making music. Sure, there are some limitations with polyphony but as a musical sketchpad it's pretty awesome. The instruments are highly usable and there are a lot to choose from (165 to start). Plus, sampling, importing of other samples over wi-fi and the new bounce to sample feature really seal the deal on this one. I can't recommend this enough. If it were to ever drop to half-price I would give it 6 stars..Version: 0

Hopelessly outdatedISequence HD has not been updated in a long while and likely won't ever see the rewrite users have been clamoring for but whose entreaties the developer has ignored. A year or so ago the app had appeal but the market and the technology of iPad music making has moved far and fast and ISequence HD is hopelessly outdated. Even at the frequently offered sales price you'll likely be disappointed with the meager return on your investment. Take the money you'd spend on ISequence and apply it to Cubasis. Unlike BeepStreet, Steinberg is actively developing Cubasis with regular updates and excellent customer communication..Version: 2.7

BeastThe vast functionality and so-simple-a cave-man-could-do-it ease of use, makes this a must have app for musicians. The sampler is godly and saves me from having to boot up 6 different apps to use several different instruments in one composition. I wish I had found this earlier, it would have saved me a lot of money. Don't hesitate about buying this. You'll make your iOS production much simpler with this wonderful tool. I'm so impressed with this app that I will be buying your Sunrizer synth as well, despite not really needing another synth..Version: 2.6

Very fun! This program has a unique way of sequencing your music. It's kind of a mix between a tracker and a traditional piano roll base sequencer. You can get ideas down really fast because you don't have to navigate through menus. I really like this program but the sample management is a piece of crap compared to beatmaker 2. The midi out doesn't seem to work though wifi. You can't write triplets without a work around. Shrug, this program has great potential and I hope the developer gives us free updates..Version: 2.6

Great startThis is a terrific app that is quite a bit more approachable than the dozens of other band-in-a-box apps currently available. I would like to be able to record multiple notes per "track". The mixer and effects are fantastic, inclusion of a chorus unit would complete the suite. Can we expect some level of integration between the Sunrizer synth and iSequnce in the future? (and please don't forget about us 1G iPad users). Overall, iSequence is a solid offering that's far better suited to quick musical sketches than most others..Version: 2.2

Powerful, but limited.Positivity first: this app is powerful, simple, and intuitive. It tool me all of fifteen minutes fooling around to figure it out and then I was making songs. HOWEVER. You can basically only do songs in 4/4. This is horrid for a lot of things I want to do with it. Being able to change the time signature within patterns would make this a 5-star app, but as-is I can only give it a 4. Bump it up to 5 if you loooove 4/4..Version: 2.1

Good, could be great!I have had tons of fun with this app and created ideas for about 5 songs now, but I find myself needing the sample editor and more/better sounds. It will receive five stars from me when I am fully satisfied. Also, maybe have a community for users to share what they have created, for those of you who have used aurora, you know what I mean. I am looking forward to the future of iSequence..Version: 0

Beyond a toy, but no tutor neededI own just about every music app for the iPad. this one is the best by far. this app is very responsive and it looks great as well. i understand looks arent everything, but this app is very "ipad-like". as far as the music production, it is very robust but not too difficult. I figured out the interface in about 10 mins tops. beepstreet, thanks for the awesome software. I will buy everything you make from now on. I'm a fan..Version: 0

Love it.Great app. Only one I know of that allows me to play my own samples live from my keyboard (with the camera usb kit). Some suggestions to make it perfect. 1. Midi learn function (like sunrizer) 2. Individual volume control for each sample (on the sample editor) a vertical line could be added for that function. 3. More than 12 samples per bank. I use the app live and sometimes I need more (or make a new app to play samples without a sequencer!).Version: 2.6

Finally!!!Shortly after waiting forever for an update we get two!! Over six months ago this was my favorite music making app, but I was disappointed that there was talk about updates and then nothing for months. So very happy to see some movement on this app. I still really love the way it works. So all it needs now is the same type of MIDI controls and Virtual MIDI that Sunrizer has..Version: 2.6

Potential..As others have said, the WAV export doesn't sound very good, which is really too bad. And also an undo function, please, even one layer of undo.. I love this app's interface, along with sunrizer. However, the latest update makes them both horribly, horribly unstable (and a lot of stuck notes in sunrizer).. Sorry guys, until this is solved (or not) I'm switching to another DAW sequencing app. Shame, because this is what I want to be using to write tracks and the workflow in iSequence is quite intuitive..Version: 2.5

Outstanding, love it!I can't say enough good things about this app. It's a great way to lay song ideas down anywhere you happen to be. It's very intuitive, and the learning curve is minimal. Being a songwriter and composer, this app is powerful enough to do serious work with, yet simple enough to be able to use it easily. Best of all, the price doesn't break the bank. Very impressive!.Version: 0

Best use of iPad ever!Hats off to Jaroslaw! This single app has justified the purchase of my iPad - and made the device even more difficult to put down. I'm a musician, and this app has unlocked a creative side of me I didn't know existed. The samples are quality! I love the ability to export via web browser. If you're on the fence about this app, get off the fence and buy the app. It's worth every penny!.Version: 0

Best Tool, PERIODI've tried every music production app available, and none have been as useful as iSequence. The best of MIDI style sequencing with the realism and sonic excellence of audio tracking. Instead of trying to use your music apps and synths through MIDI, record loops and bring the loops into iSequence to use in one of the three instrument modes, it all fits together seamlessly. If you use it properly, it is ROCK solid and has near zero latency. I freaking LOVE this app!!.Version: 2.6

Excellent app but.....This is a very useful app. The sounds are excellent quality and after a few minutes was knocking out beats with ease, however, I would like to see audiobus and inter app audio added so it can be more easily used with other apps. Then I'll give five stars for sure. I've just realised that an "undo" or "back" button is badly needed in order to make things easier. Hope to see these in future updates..Version: 2.7

Powerful, yet accessible!Excellent iPad app. I've enjoyed it much more than I had expected. The developer recently released a manual (available on website), which I recommend my fellow amateurs to look through. The exercises in the manual will bring even more value to your purchase. Many tunes will be brought to life because of this inspiring tool..Version: 0

Pretty goodThis is actually a sweet little sequencer if you are only into electronic music. Which I'm not. My main beef is that the add-on instruments, though they sound great, suffer from some terrible glitches and limitations that the built in electro sounds do not. For one, the keyboard will effectively short out if you have not completely released a key before pressing the next. Secondly, if you select an instrument from the acoustic set and play along with something you have already laid down, the recording will fade and miss beats. These two problems can be worked around by composing with the original built in instruments and then changing instruments after you have recorded your track but that is incredibly irritating and hokey. Seems a bit shoddy to sell add-ons that are not fully functional and debugged. If it were not for this issue, I'd give it 4 stars or better..Version: 2.6

GrrreatReally a lot of fun. I will let the musically inclined comment on it's functionality. I could not say if this note was really that note, or timing of anything was wrong or not. I'm only capable of saying that it is really fun, I would say for the price ( I got the 4 xp packs maybe 6$ total ) they are not nesasary, but they enhance it. I have other studio apps some cheaper, some more expensive, if could only have one this would be it. Please note I rated other apps go by the date of review for my preference. I only had one small disappointment I should read before buying. I would really like more animal sounds from frogs rattlesnakes elephants donkeys and rosters, the more the better. Great start good luck with your development..Version: 0

Awsome app to create music onThis is a very powerful app. It's good for beginners and handy for professionals. Well worth the $15 dollar price tag. The coolest feature that I like best about this app is that it gives you the ability to record or import your own instruments. You can even create a full song by recording you own voice and add effects to it in this app which none of the other apps let you do in the app store. My verdict, a must have for an iPad if you are into music creation..Version: 0

Cool AppJust loaded it up and was making music in minutes. Nice app!.Version: 2.7

What an amazing appThis app satisfies in many ways. The price is worth it. The app is solid. I've experienced zero problems or crashes. A great design and neat interface make it easy to use and understand before reading any instructions. The additional sound banks are worth it to. I am very impressed. Could use a more robust quantize method, I feel limited with groove style, but other than that, stellar app!!.Version: 0

Awesome music game and so much moreThis is such an amazing app to make plenty of music. The only thing missing, there is always something, is the ability to record an audio track, be it vocals, guitar or anything at all. Thanks for a great app..Version: 2.2
