ASL Translator App Comments & Reviews

ASL Translator Positive Reviews

This app is actually really usefulI was accidentally charged for this app but after talking to the extremely human and considerate tech support i got my refund and actually checked out the app and its not too shabby. I mean I personally wouldn't get this on my own but since i had it its actually been really help. A friend of min has recently become a bit of a selective mute and we're learning sign language to help him and this app is great for learning phrases and in general checking single words. Its handy for just the simple stuff..Version: 2.6

Best ASL TranslatorThis app is the first truly USEFUL ASL translator app that I’ve come across, and it has been incredibly beneficial in my learning. Two things I would love for the designers to add as they increase the dictionary: - the ability to watch in slow motion - a “favorites” section so we can access our personalized sentences with just a tap - a “memory” game where the translator randomly signs words we’ve typed into the translator and we type in and guess the words for the sign we’re seeing. (This one is just something I’m looking for in a learning app, it’s how I learn with visual repetition). Thank you SO MUCH for this app!.Version: 2.7

Good!I like this app and I’m glad they finally updated it. The only thing I would change is make the “text box” larger print. I struggle to see it. But the app works well and is very helpful. Thanks developers..Version: 2.7

Very helpfulI was going to a conference that was being hosted by a very prominent University for the deaf. I used this app to help refresh myself a bit and to learn some new signs. Overall I was very happy with it and even some of my new friends I made while there thought this was a wonderful app to share and use..Version: 2.6

I love this app! This app is so easy to use. I have been signing for 20+ years and do not know all the signs. When I need to know a sign immediately I find it quick with this app. I even refresh my skills while waiting at the Dr. Office or anywhere that I find myself waiting in line. It's great!.Version: 2.6

So very helpfulI'm dating a deaf man and I'm trying to learn ASL so we can communicate better when he's got his hearing aids out at night, in the morning, after a shower, on the motorcycle, etc. This app has been so very helpful when I'm at a loss for words/signs! THANK YOU!.Version: 2.6

Updated reviewAfter months of working flawlessly the app suddenly stopped working. I received a prompt reply from the developer and now the app is working again. Very happy!! 😊.Version: 2.7

AppreciateI just love this app. My sister is about 90% deaf so I am committed to learn ASL. This app comes in handy when I need to translate a word or expression. I appreciate time taken to make it possible for me to communicate to deaf ones..Version: 2.6

Good for beginnersThe vocabulary is quite good and the phrasing selection is helpful.Version: 2.6

I love this app!I have been looking for an app like this to help me with memorizing scriptures in the Bible and now that I got it I can say it has made memorizing so much easier plus I use it for signing to songs! Love it!!!!.Version: 2.6

A bit disappointingI wish the videos showed what words were being signed. I’m trying to learn sentence structure and I don’t know most of the signs so the the text to ask function isn’t much use to me.Version: 2.6

Very helpfulI use this frequently and love the text to sign function. It helps build conversational skill..Version: 2.6

Best App I’ve ever purchasedI was hesitant to pay anything; I’m glad I did. Easily the best $5 I’ve spent on a App. I’ve been using it for 4 years- no problem. Actually, I needed help with initial navigation and support was immediate and helpful. It’s amazing how much I’ve learned using this App. This app is great in distinguishing synonyms: Quick, Speedy, Fast Learn the differences easily..Version: 3.5

My asltI went Deaf a few years ago after a tumor surgery. ASLT has been very helpful with communication. Thank you so much..Version: 2.6

Love it!!!Great way to double check and learn phases. Love how you can type in a sentence and it will show you how to sign it :D.Version: 2.6

Love this app. Very usefulLooking up and learning new words and phrases are made easy.Version: 2.6

Great AppThis App is a great tool, we use it for children's ministry to teach the Memory Verse for the month. Good find..Version: 2.6

Great supplemental tool for ASL!This is a great app to supplement my class for ASL. I use the Text To Sign option to clarify and learn!.Version: 2.6

Great app! This app is really useful to learn sign language or to communicate with the deaf..Version: 2.6

ASLVery good . It's a helpful free app. It's a great aid for me , especially if I need it to write in a sentence..Version: 2.6

Still greatThis is still a great app, and I highly recommend it for ASL students needing help with vocabulary. It's a lot easier to use than going through Signing Savvy. It could use a few more common signs that are currently just finger spelling..Version: 2.3

AwsomeThank you,.Version: 2.6

Love itThis is the best app that is out.Version: 2.6

Love it tooGreat help.Version: 2.6

FabulousGreat way to learn ASL..Version: 2.6

Not amazing. The translator isn't good at all. If you have the other app, it's the exact same thing except you don't have to click on the different words. The videos it comes up with are choppy and usually incorrect translations. I looked up "here it goes again," which I know is very simple to say, and she started fingerspelling in the middle of it?! The common phrases are okay, there need to be more though, and have them maybe integrated somehow with the translator? The asl idioms are nice to know, but there's, like, 5 of them. Needs an update pretty soon..Version: 1.1

Absolutely wonderful!Amazing! Thank you so much for coming up with this wonderful tool! My father is going deaf and it has become almost impossible for him to communicate with his family. I can just type in what I want to say and within seconds your video showing me how to sign it plays. Thank you again!!.Version: 1.1

It's about time!I have been waiting for an App like this for awhile now. I have a similar App, but it shows a lot of FS instead of the signs. By far this is the best Translator App to date. Thank you, hope that you keep this App updated..Version: 1.1

Best app ever!I absolutely love this app. Commonly used phrases are great. Slow motion and the video loop are amazing! Text to sign is awesome. I recommend that you get the ASL dictionary along with with this one. Great tool to learn ASL. I hope to see more phrases as well. Tech support are very quick to respond, THAT is wonderful..Version: 2.4

Pretty good! This was better than I expected but still has some room for improvement. There are some old signs here and I'd like to see it updated with true ASL across the board but overall, I'd say it's worth the money..Version: 2.3

ASL TranslatorAmazing handy software on the iPhone useful for home and school -- highly recommended by professionals working with the deaf community and by families with other language delays!.Version: 2.3

Best app everI learned so much of this in the matter of like 2 hours and This app was worth it! Love it!! I can't wait to learn more.Version: 2.1

Great appGreat translator! Good for phrases or words. Would like more common phrases, but you can search almost anything.Version: 1.1

AwesomeI love this app so much, easy to use and totally worth the price. Buy it!.Version: 2.0

ASL Translator ReviewI use this to communicate with a deaf woman on the bus I drive. He liked it so much she hugged me!.Version: 2.3

I love this app!I can now communicate with my friend josh!!!.Version: 2.0

Excellent little app!!!This is truly a great little app. Very responsive to simple phrase structure. I agree with the other reviewer though. Signs need to be slower a bit. Really great tool though. Two big thumbs up ;-).Version: 1.1

Top notch algarythm for smooth running app. Does what it’s supposed to.Awesome App. Headsup, signing what we type, in English word order, is NOT ASL. The common phrases include some asl, which is awesome. To truly learn this beautiful language and not offend a people and their culture do your research, take some classes and meet deaf people to learn and embrace them as a people. Great app for getting what we need quick. Please add ASL word order option with an upcoming update to make this app out of this world..Version: 2.6

Cool app!Excellent app and wonderful communication tool!!.Version: 2.6

This is a new update!!!I'm happy!! Thank you for updating! This app improves well! There are many ASL dictionaries and idioms! I give you five stars!!!!.Version: 2.0

GreatThis is a great app for beginners!! You can type in what you want to learn to sign. The only thing I would like different is for the interpreters to either sign a bit slower or to have a button to increase and decrease the speeds. Other than that, it's worth the couple bucks..Version: 1.1
