Elmo Loves ABCs App Comments & Reviews

Elmo Loves ABCs Positive Reviews

Helpful and Fun!I purchased this app for my almost two-year-old son, who absolutely adores Elmo. The directions are a little advanced for him, so he has a hard time "doing" what Elmo says. Nonetheless, he enjoys trying to draw the letters and coloring the pictures that are associated with the specified word; but he likes the videos the best. We work together to complete the tasks, and he's learning how to follow the prompts. I especially like this app because there are varying levels of difficulty in play. I think this app would be great for 2-4 year-olds who are practicing their alphabet and need reinforcement. I have a background in elementary education, and I think this is a great tool to assist children in practicing their letters at home or on the go. In response to those people saying that this app is not worth the money, consider how expensive Sesame Street toys are if purchased in the store. Rather than spending money on an action figure of Elmo, I would suggest investing less than $5 on this educational app..Version: 2.4

Fun appI love this app! All of my kids have loved using it since 2012. My one year old son laughs and smiles at Elmo, and enjoys the videos the most. The cards are a fun idea too! My oldest helps my son draw the letters, and on his own he colors the pictures and does the “hide and seek” feature (drawing on the screen to reveal the letter pictures) 5/5! Definitely recommend!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.Version: 3.9.1

2 year oldMy 2 year old really enjoys all of the options in this app, including drawing, videos and games, and I love that she gets to learn while she’s playing, but I’m disappointed that I cannot get the make your own card feature to work. Every time I try, it freezes and I have to restart the app..Version: 3.9

Great app! This app is great! I originally had the lite version but my 20 month old liked it so much that I thought I would splurge and get the full version. Now when we go out, she recognizes letters and tells me which ones they are and she's not even 2 yet! I attribute most of that to this app. The only sound complaint I have is that sometimes it seems like it's playing two sets of audio at the same time, only off by a second or two, which is kind of annoying. Other than that, I haven't had the other audio problems other reviewers are mentioning. I think this app is well worth the price!.Version: 1.0.4

Elmo's Lovin' His ABCs Even Slowed My Two-Year-Old Grandson Down!Apollo, my two-year-old grandson, is on the go constantly exploring everything (think getting into!) he comes in contact with UNTIL I introduced him to ELMO LOVES ABCs on my iPad. This app is perfect for his learning and his imagination. There is plenty to do--choosing letters to trace, coloring as he traces them, singing along with Elmo, watching great video clips, and coloring in Sesame Street characters that he loves. And there's a lot more to do. One of my favorite things is that after I've made the 2 hour drive home, Apollo can color another masterpiece on the app, and his mom can easily snap a photo of it with her own iPad and text or email it to me. GREAT APP!.Version: 2.1

AWESOME!It's amazing how much my son has learned from this app. At 2 1/2 he can identify uppercase and lowercase letters, and he had so much fun learning it! This app has given us respite when out to dinner, waiting in line, grocery shopping, or doing anything else that a toddler has no patience for. There is so much to do, all in one app. This only downside about the app is that they have to “write” the letter by tracing an outline to unlock the letter, every time. I would suggest having an arrow or button to push to skip this step for the younger kids. But it also requires parent and child to do the app together, which is not a bad thing. Overall, a very education and fun app..Version: 2.5

Speech Delay Momma ApprovedMy 2.5 year old daughter has been in speech therapy for over a year. We recently had a big word explosion (her first ever). Tonight she read off every letter on a book about colors, completely unprompted. I know it's because of this app. We live in a rural area and she gets to play this game on trips to Target as the store is 45 mins away. I also love that the videos that play are not contingent on web access, they are built into the download so they will always play no matter what. I don't often pay for preschool apps but I am so so glad we paid for this one..Version: 3.5.4

Great appI am giving it 4 stars because the screen is super sensitive. One wrong touch and whatever you are watching is cut off. This very much upsets my daughter. The app itself is great. It's fun and entertaining. My daughter loves the videos and the coloring pages. It's great for learning. The Sesame Street company did a great job. Just try to fix the screen sensitivity so it does not interrupt video or whatever you are doing. Maybe a button can come up asking if you want to stop the video. Not really sure how to fix that problem..Version: 1.0.2

Wonderful gameMy littlest started playing this game for about 10-15 minutes most mornings about 4 months ago. I haven't taught him any letters otherwise (he's only two, and we have focused on leaving colors and shapes), but his letter recognition is fantastic because of this game. There are probably 100 short videos included and each letter has three corresponding objects. Once he's a bit older there are more games (tough the picture that starts with the sound "eh") to help him learn not only the names of the letters, but the sound it makes. Well done, Sesame Street!.Version: 2.5

Less helpful than earlier versionsThe new parental and personal features are nice, but the app seems to sacrifice some of the feedback form earlier versions. For example, the previous version would say "Elmo thinks you picked a great letter." each time the child would choose a letter. That's misinform now. There were also more vocal instructions for the letter games. They don't play now making it unclear what the child is supposed to do. I'm not sure why these things are missing. Maybe it's a bug because this little bit of audio can't take much space. Hopefully these will be fixed soon..Version: 2

PerfectThis game is absolutely perfect. My three year old loves it. She went from playing this game on and off for a week to identifying letters and knowing what words start with which letter. It literally advanced her alphabet knowledge farther in one week than the last 8 months in preschool. It's a fun game to watch her play and filled with classic Sesame Street video clips. The best feature by far is that all of the video and audio are downloaded to your device, meaning no Internet connection is required to play. HIGHLY recommend..Version: 2.3

Good content but takes a lot of spaceIt's a heavy duty app with lots to do. My 2 yr old loves it. With so many things to touch on the screen and a 3 sec delay, there are a lot of wrong buttons pushed and triple taps where you just sit and wait for app to catch up. ( good for teaching patience I guess.) after selecting a letter, the letters should go away and return when done with the selected letter. This would solve the accidental taps and frustration. Good learning game, just needs better design..Version: 2.4

Elmo comes to live!My son is 5 years old. He likes this app that he will ask to play with Elmo again and again(instead of watching the Elmo, he said play with Elmo). He told me Elmo is talking to him, and he will dance with Elmo while watching the videos in the app. Overall, it's fun and educational. It's more than just ABC, he learns vocabulary, too. It has singing, coloring, and his favorite popping the bubbles after finishing the hide & seek game. He likes Thomas the train usually, but he likes Elmo's app more than Thomas's app..Version: 1.0.3

Loved the app until.....Loved this app until we downloaded the full version.....it won't download the other letters. My daughter loves this one and wants to have the other letters and we can't get them. Very disappointing. And it was the first app I ever bought because I was leery about spending money and getting ripped off.....I guess they can keep the $5. UPDATE.....look at the last page of apps. It loads separately. The app is 5 stars!!!.Version: 2

Taught child the ABC'sThis app was fabulous due to the fact that unbeknownst to me my 3 year old was taught the entire alphabet! It has entertaining games, video clips, and rewards for tracing the letter and choosing the correct answer. It's great for kids who can't trace the letter exactly, like some apps require. This app is perfect for the beginner all the way up to the advanced. I recommend the app to all my friends whenever I can. Worth the money!.Version: 3.3

My 2 Year Old Loves ItMy 23 month old is still learning his letters, but he's moving along much faster with the help of this app. He loves the ABC songs that it plays, those keep him busy for a while all by themselves. Plus, it's Elmo, so how can you go wrong? App works great, no crashing, and is very kid friendly with no buttons for him to push that are going to charge me money. Great deal all the way around!.Version: 2

Yay!I usually don't spend this much on an app, but this one is worth it!! It is great for toddlers, though they will need lots of initial support to trace letters. It's an excellent way to learn letter recognition and sounds. I really like that you can add your own picture or video to the letters. You can also view your child's record of incorrect answers and favorite/most chosen letters and options. It's these bells and whistles that make it worth the $..Version: 2.3

Too many videosMy son loves this app , he also learn all the abc letters mostly from this app and he is only 2 years old. however, this app have many many short videos, and it's almost like having him watching tv, for long long minutes at a time. Now he knows all his abc's , so I removed the app from the iPad , and he still ask for it , even a month after its gone..Version: 2.3

Great app, very educationalI purchased this app gor my 1 year + boy, he loves it. I love how they introduce each letter with 3 different objects. The little video is definitely eyes catching, as my little guy veryfocus on it. He even starts say some of the words after they said it. I guess he really does learn letters and words by spending all these time on this app. Highly recommend this app..Version: 2

AMAZING!!! Best App for a Toddler! My nephew absolutely loves this app. He's playing with it right now as we speak. This is very, very interactive. He has to draw the letter to play the activities for each letter and there are 9 activities per letter. I literally sit my nephew down with my iPad and he will play Elmo ABCs until I tell him to stop. I thought he would get tired of it within a few months but no. Best Babysitting Tool out there!.Version: 2.3

Fantastic, loved by ~3 year oldMy son has asked for this app every night since we downloaded it. He adores is. It has great content, but I love that you can customize with your own videos. He really enjoys seeing family members in the game. Tracing is a bit frustrating at first for little ones, but it's good skill development and works well for co-viewing with an adult or older sibling..Version: 2.4

New update to support retina - breaks air supportNew update looks great, but on my iPad air it is worse. You can't trace the letters because the image it shows is different from the letter you have to trace, so you just have to scribble around to figure it out. Most notably uppercase J you have to trace the hat, but it isn't in the picture. Also the audio recording isn't working for custom cards. Great update, otherwise. Please fix the tracing thing ASAP because my kids can't get past the tracing part..Version: 3.0

GreatI purchased this app for my 19 month old grandson to keep his attention during church. Not a good idea. He was playing for only about 5 minutes before he was repeating the letters and sounds and absolutely loved Elmo. Great app just not for quiet time. It kept his attention, the videos and variety was worth it. I wish all educational apps were this good. Definitely 5 stars..Version: 2.5

Who doesn't love Elmo!!Seriously, who doesn't love elmo! My 2.5 year old loves tracing the letters to get the three things that pop up on the bottom. He loves getting to touch the images and see a video play. He's also starting to discover the other fun features in the app so it keeps him entertained for long periods of time!.Version: 2.3

Awesome app!Wow! This app is bursting from the seams with fun stuff! My 16 month old constantly plays with this and even I love to watch all the cute videos. As a child of the 80's, I was raised on Sesame St., so it brings back good memories. It's still too complicated for her to play independently ( she can't trace the letters), but with a little help she is entertained for quite a while!.Version: 2

Sound Issues???My 20 month old loves Elmo and this APP is great but there is a sound issue....I just purchased the full version because I thought it would solve the issue but it didn't solve the sound issue. The games portion of the app has no sound...only when Elmo talks and the videos.. are working. Am I missing something?.Version: 1.0.2

Fantastic App - Entertaining Learning!I love this app, one of the most engaging and entertaining apps I have purchased for my child. She loves learning with Elmo and there is just so much to do and see in the app. The new updates really add lots of fun and we are having great fun with it, especially with the camera. Highly recommended..Version: 2.1

Great app! This is an amazing app full of fun loving sesame street skits and characters old and new! My 2 year old really likes it and it keeps him busy for quite a while because there are many different facets to each letter screen and many fun songs too. This app is well worth the money and I highly recommend it for any preschool aged kid!.Version: 1.0.4

Overall great app!Great for teaching letter recognition to toddlers. Covers both upper and lower case letters. Has some touch sensitivity issues when my 3 year old tries to trace the letters which is the only reason I am not awarding 5 stars. Even I had some difficulties getting my tracings to work. (Found fingertips work best.).Version: 1.0.2

Great AppI bought this app for my daughter when she was about a year old and she only played with it a couple times. Now she is 2 1/2 and she LOVES the numbers and letters app!!!!she asks to play with it every day and has gotten so good at tracing the numbers and letters. We have never had any issues with the app and it works great!!.Version: 3.5.4

Great App for ToddlersThis is by far my 2 year olds favorite app! He loves the videos and coloring options and is starting to be able to trace the letters himself but mostly still asks for help with that. He knows almost all of his alphabet because of the app and his doctors are blown away! Definitely the best iPad purchase I've made for him..Version: 3.0.1

My children's favorite appMy children play this for hours and both my two year old and my four year old have greatly expanded their vocabulary directly because of this app. They've even been ahead in their preschool because of the "Elmo game". I can't see how anyone could give this a negative review!.Version: 1.0.4

My kids loves it!I have a 3 years old and a 1 and a half year old, they both now can recognize several letters even outside of this game. They will just grab a book and start pointing at letters and naming them. This game is very fun and has a lot of educational content. Best purchase in a long time!.Version: 2.3

A must have for ages 1 1/2 and up!My daughter loves Elmo and this app has been invaluable for play and education. It's creative and fun. Just today she surprised me with saying veggie after seeing and dancing the veggie dance under the letter V. There are many many skills used in this app. It's a big one to download but a total must have!.Version: 2.3

ExcellentI have had no issues with sound nor video on this app, and the video quality is exceptional. There is a plethora for young children to do with this app and it should be an excellent tool for two to four year olds who are learning about different objects and letter recognition..Version: 1.0.4

Awesome Value Great LearningWow, this is an amazing app especially for the price! You get so much of the Sesame Street archives in video form plus there are several games and Elmo is his usual fantastic self. If you love Sesame Street then this is an absolute must! If you just want a great alphabet app then this is a must too. We are super happy and impressed!.Version: 1.0.4

OkWell, I thought this would be a wonderful app for 2 year old! But like some other people have said, there is no sound on many of the pages! This makes it very difficult for my son to know what to do. I just hope that this is fixed in an update sometime soon! We loved the lite version and we pretty excited about this one too, only to be disappointed!.Version: 1.0.3

If I could suggest one thing...Love this app with all the videos from Sesame Street linked to the letters, the practice writing, etc. But...it would be even better if when the iPad is on mute mode that the sound for this app would also be muted. Have opened the iPad upon arriving home late at night to Elmo shouting at me that he "LOVES TO WRITE"...funny for me (to be scared by Elmo at 11pm, not so funny for the sleeping infant, spouse, toddler...y.Version: 2.5

Love it!We bought this for our 22 month daughter and she loves it. Not only is it a great teaching tool, but it is also a lot fun. I want to get it for my iPhone..Version: 2

ImpressedMy husband was so impressed he has suggested buying a second (but less expensive) iPad for the kiddies... We haven't toddler tested it yet because I know I'll never get my iPad back!.Version: 2

FrustratedMy 2 years old kid is getting frustrated playing with this app. He used to love this app but since the new update he's not able to draw into the lowercase letters. He also waits for Elmo to say the letter when he chooses a letter around the square so he can repeat it but it goes silent. Did that function disappear or is there a setting to bring that back? I tried removing the app and re-installing it, still has the bugs. Please fix the bugs, I hate seeing him angry and disappointed!.Version: 3.0

Great appPerfect app for my 2 year old. I think the sensitivity is a little too high. Before the upgrade it was too hard but now when in one activity, a random touch on the screen pops you into another activity. Other then that it's excellent and my 2yr old begs to play "elmo".Version: 1.0.2

Awesome! My 21 month old daughter adores this app. Great learning for kids of all ages!.Version: 2.5

GreatGreat app. It would be nice if the alphabet had an option for zed rather than zee..Version: 2.5

WonderfulGreat app! Elmo is a wonderful teacher..Version: 2.5

Amazing!!I love that you can customize each letter with your own videos. All our friends and family have made a video for the letter of their name, and those are my sons favourites!.Version: 2.4

My 2.5 year old LOVES this.Strongly recommend this app. My boy loves it and is starting to draw letters on his own. At first he got me to use his finger to trace the letters and now he can do a fe on his own! Great Job S. Street!.Version: 2.4

Good but…..Like sooo many kid's games on here, they need an adult to play it with them. It's as if the people who develop these apps never even test them with children that would be using them. For example, a toddler doesn't understand that the buttons can't be pressed when Elmo is talking. Then when he's done, we have to wait for all the buttons that we pressed to clear / finish. While we do love this app, it can be painful to use sometimes as there is so much waiting involved for Elmo to stop talking….when all a 3 year old wants to do is press buttons..Version: 2.3

Awesome worth the moneyGreat game my son spends hours on this, it's definitely worth the money, it's rated top 1 on "circle of moms".Version: 2.3

Fun learning toolWe started out with the lite version and our 2 year old loved it so much we had to upgrade. He's been asking to play with it often and is more interested in learning his letters. Mom and dad have been caught singing the disco version of the ABCs when there's no children in sight!.Version: 2

Useful on many levelsThe combination of every child's favorite character, Elmo, combined with the opportunity to trace letters, sound out letters, and watch short videos based on those letters makes this a fantastic educational app. It's amazing what my 3 year old son can do, and the letters he recognizes based on this app..Version: 2

Great! My 4 year old and two year old love this! Keeps them busy for hours!.Version: 2

Chris JYet another wonderful app from Sesame Street!.Version: 1.0.4

Fantastic learning toolWe have 4 children ranging from 1-6 years old and this app is one of their absolute favorites! The videos are great and the games are fun. There is so much content in this app that the fun and learning goes on and on! Thanks for a fantastic app!.Version: 1.0.3

Elmo loves abcs for iPadI purchased this app for granddaughter, (she is 20 months old) and she loves this game. The problem is when you pick from the 3 things at bottom of screen it does not always play the proper video..Version: 1.0.3

Daycare kids love this app!I own a home daycare and my kids from 11 months and up love this app. The thing I love for the older kids is that they have to trace the letter to unlock the videos, coloring and fun hidden behind every letter, which is great practice. Not to mention Elmo, who doesn't love Elmo?!.Version: 1.0.3

Awesome app! This app has a depth of entertainment that keeps my 2 year old coming back for more..Version: 1.0.2

Is Elmo Uploading your family Photos? My child loves this app, but when I attempt to customize it by adding personalized photos, the app wants permission to access all my photos, then when you say yes, it appears to be loading all 800 photos from my iPad and takes forever to finish...Whats going on here? Is Elmo uploading all photos along with GPS data to their servers? This appears to be a security breach that goes against Canadian privacy laws. Aside from this, it's a wonderful app with many great features that keep my child engaged and learning..Version: 2.1

Thanks for the updateThis new version respond how it should, my kids just LOVE it..Version: 1.0.2
