The companion app to the popular book "The Serpent and the Jaguar," the award-winning MCP Mayan Tzolkin gives you the authentic Mayan Tzolkin calendar the way the living Maya practice it. This app follows the sacred traditional count of the Kiche Maya, and is in no way related to the "Dreamspell" or "13-moon" calendar, invented in the 20th century.
We designed the MCP Mayan Tzolkin to connect you with the energies of the sacred Tzolkin calendar—perhaps the most well known of all the Mayan calendars—and to understand the meaning of the Tzolk’in’s essential building blocks: the day signs and the numbers.
For the first time, the entire series of these energies is now available in their complete form, and on a mobile platform—260 unique daily energies finely tuned to the realities of modern day life.

While other apps generally take their day sign, number and “energy of the day” descriptions from various non-Maya sources, the “Energies of the Day” in our app are based on authentic interpretations and practices of the Tzolkin that have been made available to us by the Maya of the Guatemalan highlands and Maya scholars with long years of experience living and working with the Maya.
BACKGROUND
Since ancient times, the Maya have used the 260-day Tzolkin as their personal astrological calendar. Incredibly accurate regardless of culture, race, gender, faith, or ethnicity, the Tzolkin remains, to this day, profoundly relevant to the human experience—including our modern lives and lifestyles. Unlike the now-defunct Long Count calendar whose latest cycle ended on 12.21.2012, and whose original usage and meaning has been completely overrun by popular notions of doomsday scenarios, the sacred Tzolk’in is a deeply personal astrological calendar.

This is the best of them ALL!!This is quite simply the best, most thoroughly researched app on the Mayan Calendar that I have used. If you are a novice, this is where you want to start your research! I recommend it to everyone with a passing interest. The extra effort that went into all 260 different day descriptions is astounding and provides an additional dimension to my awareness and study of the Tzolkin energies. I greatly appreciate the scrolling features, the wheel is useful though sometimes it feels just a tad clumsy. My one nitpick is that the Trecena week sign is not obviously listed for each of the days, though it is sometimes mentioned in the descriptions. I also feel that the detail about the Mayan day starting at sunrise needs to be more emphasized - in all the apps that I have used, I have not seen that warning, and I am afraid this may cause inaccurate readings for those just dipping their toes in for the first time. Despite the small drawbacks, this app is still my one go to when I really want to understand the energy of the day, and it has really brought a new awareness of how the number system plays into the calendar. Stopped workingHi I have been using the app for 3 to 4 years and absolutely love it. But about a month ago it just quit working .the initial page comes on and then it just goes black. I would try to buy it again but it won’t let me since it’s already in my phone it just says open and when I open in the App Store it just goes to a black screen. please help!!.Version: 2.42
Recent UpdateI love this app! I use it every day. Been following the Tzolk’in for one cycle now and it’s amazingly on point! The one thing I don’t like since this latest update is that the font size has changed. It’s now much bigger. I use to be able to read it all on one screen and now I have to scroll. Please support Dynamic Type in your app so that the font size is adjustable as per the text size in the phone’s settings! 🙏🏼.Version: 2.47.2
Thank you from a tijaxI love this app, I’ve used it every day for over a year and find it to be a totally accurate guide to channel and understand the energy of the day. I saw others had this problem so wanted to say - occasionally app will stop working. Screen will just be blank. When this happens, just delete the app and then redownload. I don't normally write reviews...... But I have to give credit to the designers of this app. As an anthropologist who has spent time with Mayan shamen, I can vouch that the day count in this app is as accurate as I have seen. In addition, while I think some things are over-dramatized for effect, the explanations of the day signs and basic counting elements are on the money. I'm retired, but if I still taught, I would require my students to have this app. Forget the supernatural part, this in my mind is the "real deal" and we are fortunate that these developers preserved this for our education and use. It would have been 5 stars...This app is a relatively handy companion to have with my practice and it can eloquently explain the energies of each day... but I DO NOT LIKE one bit that 3 energy is looked at so negatively. It's a day of action, communication, the first vibrational signs of a life ready to burst forth. Whoever the author is successfully denotes the dual natures of other numbers and day signs, but when it comes to aspect 3, they down right FAIL and instead incite fear on such an interesting aspect of creation. It's a huge opportunity they miss to fully explain the energetic possibilities and potential of what 3 energy really has to offer. Until the author revises and updates a few of the descriptions (not just this issue) to ones that offer a more holistic and full-bodied view of each aspect and intention, this is a bit of a skewed way of explaining this beautiful calendar of the Universe's energies..Version: 2.37
Great info, I use it everyday!Great information in this app! I have been using it for over a year now, and the energies of the day are very helpful... Very nicely written, almost like poetry, might take a while to really get the terms and symbols and images. But once you do, it's so helpful and beautiful. The only glitch for me is "get new date." It can be hard to maneuver to the right day, month and year you want. But still, I give it 5 stars. Highly recommended..Version: 2.30
Navigation needs workOtherwise it's excellent. It should be possible to swipe to the left or right when on the Energies of the Day screen and go to yesterday or tomorrow, but it doesn't. Likewise after selecting an alternative date and viewing energies of that day, it should be possible to view the number and day sign then go back to the overview of the energies of that day, but that's not possible. It's gone without navigating there again from the beginning. And the wheel navigation is certainly beautiful but it doesn't allow spinning the day sign and number separately in order to select a Tzolkin energy summary. It's great to have the tables of the day signs with a summary word or totem but it is too small to view. It should be selectable so as to fill the screen width and scroll..Version: 2.38

Love this app!I love that this uses the "old Mayan" calendar for daily affirmations and power. I have several of the "new" calendar versions by Jose Arguelles to add to my understanding. The visuals of the glyphs are wonderful in the app. I would recommend this..Version: 1.0

InterestingEasily one of the best apps on my phone. Follows the maya calendar on a 13 day rather than 7 day cycle. Each day in the Tzolk’in comes associated with a day sign, number, and deity to meditate on and go forth. Each day of the year also has a unique energy which builds on the previous days rather than just a “Random energy/thought” of the day. Extremely intuitive, guiding and helpful..Version: 2.47.2
