Mac|Life Magazine App Comments & Reviews

Mac|Life Magazine Positive Reviews

Makes useful Mac info aliveMacLife is one of my first magazine (apps?) experiences within Newsstand. It's working well generally. I response time is good. New issue load time is long - not something to do just before leaving the house or a Starbucks. In-magazine navigation is intuitive for the most part, with helpful cues (and the initial help screen is handy), but sometimes there is a sense of too many different ways to reveal another page or section. Maybe I need to get some practice! In the end I can read the content, share it and that's most important. I will add that going back after a break to an open mag can be frustrating with having to start in the library screen and wait a long time for the mag to open- fortunately on the page you were in. Make the app smarter and snappier!.Version: 4.9.4

Looks (AND WORKS) FANTASTICALLY On My iPad ProMacLife was the one magazine I would still buy in print form in the grocery store, as I really like the content and look. But, for less than the cost of two print issues (which is still true, I think), I can get an entire year. And, with the Retina display on the large iPad Pro, it seems to actually look BETTER than the print version. And, of course, there’s also all the capabilities that come with an “active” publication (like links and such). Plus: I have ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE as to where all these other reviewers are getting these problems! They must be using a different app or something! ;) Seriously, though, I’ve actually NEVER had a problem with the app itself, or with the purchasing of issues! Plus, I’ve just turned 60 years old, with my brain and memory getting worse and worse, and I’ve been able to read issue after issue with (LITERALLY) ZERO problems. So, this app is ABSOLUTELY AND VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!.Version: 4.9.4

Content, great. Delivery, meh.I have enjoyed the content of this magazine since it was MacAddict and print only. The content has in fact improved tremendously in the last year. However, the digital delivery system has been wonky from the start. Issues download very slowly (in contrast, Consumer Reports downloads in a blink). Now, despite having a subscription, it doesn’t show me as a subscriber (it does in iTunes), won’t restore purchases / download my magazines of which I now have none because FAQs recommended deleting and reinstalling the app. Of course, Support is very hard to get a hold of because there isn’t a fast lane for the technically savvy. Answer TBD.....Version: 5.2.3

Problem with iPad OSApp screen shot doesn’t fit the screen properly(is shifted to the right, partially off screen), have to scroll to to right to see the whole page and would be nice to have landscape mode as well..Version: 5.2.3

Content good but hard to viewI enjoy the content of the magazine but wish I could view it full screen and would be even better if it allowed landscape view. Portrait mode used to be full screen but now has a large black border making it smaller and harder to read. Please make it more user friendly and allow us to enlarge the picture, print and ability to view in portrait mode. You might sell more prescriptions if you made your digital subscription easier to read by those of us over 40..Version: 6.0.6

I love this magazine but very much dislike their technical supportI have been a lifelong subscriber of MacLife and love the magazine. However, I purchased an issue a bit back and have subsequently upgraded my phone to the new X! All of my issues have loaded back onto my account except the one (mentioned before) that I really need right now. I have emailed the “support” folks, several times, hoping that they could help and haven’t gotten any answers back. I’d say get the app, just hopefully don’t lose any of your purchases as their support staff are nonexistent. Hopefully they don’t cease production as good luck finding anyone who cares!.Version: 4.9.4

Good content, but lackluster iPhone appHad this app on the iPad and it was literally a work of art. Was forced to use the iPhone version after the iPad died, and it doesn’t even feel like it could be from the same company. Not only is the experience subpar from the iPad app, but it’s not even formatted for the iPhone X after a year of being out!.Version: 5.2.3

Sometimes good, other times not so much.....I love the MacLife content, but sometimes I need page numbers from the magazine and can't find them. Also, I paid for a subscription and don't really like the prompts to purchase other magazine subscriptions. I expect that from a free app, not one I already pay for..Version: 4.9.4

Mac lifeI enjoy Mac life always learn something new and kept up to date on new items. I really like the Mac Pro tips on taking advantage of all the automation I can do with the tasks.Version: 6.3

Informative and conciseI find the articles in MacLife to be very informative, concise, and well written. When I was moving from the PC world to Apple MacLife was, and still is, a great resource for information. I love the iPad version. This app is well worth the price..Version: 5.2.3

Mac Life / for Mac Computer DesktopThis is pretty good but I gave this application a 4-Star only because it’s not made for my Mac Desktop computer which I really wanted!.Version: 6.0.6

Digital only nowI love the publication but am admittedly not happy with the new digital only format. Maybe I’ll get used to it but we will see..Version: 6.4

Great ContentI love this magazine. It offers timely practical content which enables me to maximize my use of all my apple products..Version: 5.2.3

Mac | Life App is a great program for reading monthly issues on-the-go.👍Super Application for reading monthly Mac | Life Magazine on the go.👍.Version: 6.0.6

The perfect Apple resourceI just love this magazine, is always something to learn in every issue.Version: 4.9.4

ViewingGreat magazine but it is hard to read with the viewer on an iPhone. It would be better if it could be viewed on PC and Mac computers easier.Version: 6.0.6

NO printing of an articleI like your content and that I can read it on line. Do not like that I cannot print an article from time to time and that it is not accessible from my iMac..Version: 5.6.2

Best magazine appTrue transition from the printed page. Easy to read fonts. Superb navigation. Remembers where I was in a magazine..Version: 4.9.4

My Mac LifeIt gives me all the info I need. All Mac users should have it.Version: 5.6.2

My favorite Mac magazineClear, helpful, direct, informative..Version: 6.4

Getting better...This digital magazine is gradually improving..Version: 4.9.4

It's ok but not user friendlyI wish Future plc. would make this app on the iPad a bit more user friendly. The interface is too complicated. Hope they will make it look cleaner on the next update..Version: 4.9.4

0.99$ or 1.99$ for subscription? It's advertised for 0.99 per month but when I go to subscribe in app it says 1.99$ purchase..Version: 1.0

Good ContentThis magazine has good content, I've enjoyed it. Haven't encountered any bugs so far..Version: 2.1

Good but lots of room for improvementGood first try but I wish this was as good implementation as Wired or Popular Mechanics. You can't click on individual stories in the table of contents and be taken there or click on ads or web links and be taken there. Also this is just a barebones presentation of the magazine. No video clips, interactive diagrams or anything new to the static magazine. Lastly but definitely most importantly the text requires the user to zoom in and out of the articles in order to read clearly. Larger text or a clearer presentation would be great..Version: 1.0

WowI have a subscription to this magazine, now its far more convenient and easy to read.Version: 1.0

Awesome! It's Mac|Life and it's 99 cents an issue for a subscription, what is not to love about that?! I love it!.Version: 1.0

Okayyyy.... For priceFor the price of a one year subscription, it's okay. It's definitely in need of polishing, as the magazine feels like it was literally scanned as a PDF file and sold to you. Text is hard to read when you pull up the page, requiring a lot of zooming in and out to see what's going on. However, for those on the go, taking a magazine isn't so easy, so this is a workable solution. Works fine on ipad2,2; ipad2,3; if you've used the maxim+ magazine app, the publishers here could really take some pointers from them - totally different ball game Edit: I gave it 5 stars instead of 3, realizing that the magazine works in both landscape and portrait, which is unique, as this is the first magazine I've come across that could do that (I didn't realize I was reading landscape until I set my iPad down, haha).Version: 2.2.5

Mac LifeI have had no problems with the app. I like to keep up with all things Apple/Mac, and they offer a variety of information pertaining to personal computing. The price is right, cheaper than buying a magazine in the store..Version: 4.2.1

Runs well. Good content for my interestsRuns well. Good content for my interests.Version: 4.9.1

Great Magazine!Love this magazine! Used to buy the paper version, but I love the online version. Great read and well written articles. Keep up the good work!.Version: 4.6

Great Magasine!Very informative. Easy reading. Current.Version: 3.8.1

Very good magazine for anyone interested in Apple.Good variety of topics, well written and informative..Version: 4.2.1

Like always goodGood like its always been, but like most magazine way too much ads.Version: 3.8.301

Great appA very informative magazine I look forward to it and have had no problems..Version: 3.8.1

Sleek page layoutHelpful reviews!.Version: 3.8.1

Excellent source of informationI have subscribed to MacLife for a couple of years now. I always look forward to the new issues because there are always practical "how to" articles that help us to learn new techniques or make our computing environment safer..Version: 3.8.1

Needs helpLove the magazine but some issues cause the app to crash on iPad and iPhone..Version: 3.8.1

Good, but needs updating and fixesThe iPad version is fantastic, but iPhone version REALLY needs to be updated for the 6 plus, and there is waaaay too much crashing. Great magazine, but they really need to up their game with the app..Version: 3.8.1

Nice han?So this is a good magazine if you are trying to find the newest apple product which is I phone 6 the iPod touch 6 genaration is not out but I have the 5 genaration.Version: 3.8.1

Great magazine but app crashesLove your magazine but the app has become very unstable with the iOS 8 update. Crashes when opening the current issue. Hard reset temporarily fixes the problem but it always returns. Please fix ASAP. Thanks..Version: 3.8.1

Nice!Good articles, price is not outrageous..Version: 3.8.1

Great format and great informationLook forward to every issue. The interactive format is amazing, and I love reading about the latest tech news. Great price also..Version: 3.8.1

Great Information!I'm brand new to the Apple scene as I just got myself a iPad mini and I have been looking for tips and articles for the best apps and ways to make this my iPad and to help me in some way just as functional as a laptop without spending a whole lot of money. The current release of iPad for business was just the help I was looking for, they gave me some of the best tips and how to information that the reviews gave made a big difference of which app to use instead of guessing and the the price of the digital edition (5.99) awesome, was another big reason to switch from the news stand edition (13.99). The layout of the magazines are easy to use and very creative for the limited space it has to display it's content on. This app runs very smoothly and does not do anything at all to warrant any complaints and its layout is very easy to navigate my way through..Version: 3.8.1

MarconiGreat app look forward to monthly report. Informative and appropriate articles..Version: 3.8.1

Great formatSaves on paper, that's for sure. Hope that someone is working on some compression, each issue is quite hefty. My 32 gig Air gets choked quite often..Version: 3.8.1
