Another Monster At the End... App Comments & Reviews

Another Monster At the End... Positive Reviews

Overall great, but ...This story will be great for my young students, but it crashes at least twice during each telling of the story: once at the beginning, once again at the steel door. But the story itself is really great, and I would recommend it for any parent or teacher with young children or students..Version: 1

Very Funny BookAnother monster at the end of this book is a very Funny and Entertaining book with 2 entertaining Sesame Street characters. It’s even better than the original (the original is still good but this ones better) Because More Characters, more 4th wall Breaks, and the Minigames are even better. This book deserves ANOTHER sequel..Version: 6.1.7

Great app!!I love this app! It would be nice though if you made a monster at the end of this book 3..Version: 6.1.7

Not as good as the originalNot as good as the original “monster at the end of this book” I’m referring to both the app and book content itself. This speaks more to the excellence of the app and book of the original. This one is still fun and worth buying for sure. I am totally happy with it..Version: 6.1.7

Rickey And Rich Another Monster BookMonster.Version: 6.1.7

DavidI love it.Version: 7.0

My 2 year old LOVES it more than originalThis book app is far more appealing to a younger viewer. My 2 year old had watched it a gazillion times over the past few days. The interactive parts are so much more interesting than in the original, and the interaction between Elmo & Grover helps make the concept of the story much more accessible for a two year old. One very cool page has a vault door with three buttons on it that required the child to match the inner color to the outer color by touching it...the outer color is either red, blue, or green and the inside color changes as touch it... The best part is that the combination is different every time you read the book. Such a great idea, and it provides an added layer of challenge for toddlers..Version: 1

Kids love it! Heck, I love it!!This is a very entertaining book with plenty of interactive fun (much more than just page turning). I used to read "There's a Monster at the End of This Book" to my kids using Grover's voice. Now I can rest my vocal chords with the grandkids and let Grover and Elmo do all the talking. I've shown two year olds how to add or remove paperclips and swipe glue off the page. I only had to tell them to knock down the blocks and they didn't need a demonstration (go figure). They love it. I get a kick out of it too….. There should be more interactive content like this out there. I don't see how I could rate it less than five stars, it's that good..Version: 2.0

Not as good as the originalI bought this for my 21 month old daughter because she loves the original "The Monster at the End of this Book" (both book and app). I'm giving this sequel app three stars because, although she enjoys this one, I don't think it is as well-made as the original. The animation is not quite as strong and some of the tasks in the app are a little more difficult for a very young child to complete. Finally, as a teacher by profession, I don't like that most of the text disappears immediately after the characters read it. It doesn't allow for parents or young readers to reread the text. Overall, an app my daughter enjoys, just not as good as the original..Version: 2.1

Simply add Elmo and you have app coolaidIt is the old Grover favorite with Elmo added and kids do like Elmo! It brings with it a few more interactive touches but the story line in this Elmo version is lacking. The ending is abrupt and doesn't really have the fun discovery aspect as the original. The original is about the monster at the end of the book. This version is about Elmo getting in the way and helping to sell another app. Good natured Elmo actually serves to lower the stakes and ruins the ending by defusing Grover's insanity to the point where nobody cares about the moster. At the end my daughter actually said, "What happened?" It is kinda like trying to watch a movie with a roach on the screen. Still, kids will like it. Mine does I think..Version: 2.0

Cute book turned AppAnother Monster at the End of This Book...Starring Grover is definitely worth a read. The app is engaging and I like the interactive elements for the reader to do to help Elmo turn the page. The voices are true to the characters on Sesame Street and the text appearing as the characters speak is great. The music and sound effects are appropriate, too. It keeps the child more interested in what is going on. This app has parental suggestions to turn this from a simple story into teaching moments..Version: 3

Wonderful app!Bought this ast Saturday for a trip to Orlando he next day. Neer her an unhappy word from my almost 4 yr old grandaughter. She adores it! She loved Monster original also, now has both memorized and "reads" with both. It's not something that adults will find intolerable after a while (maybe when they keep poking at the same thing over and over), it just to dare cute. Would love to see more interactive like this from anyone that does children books on iPads..Version: 1

Another Monster is GREAT!I have had this app since the first day it has come out and it has not crashed on me at all also my 2 year old watches it constantly he loves it. I would highly recommend this to any parent whose children like Elmo or Grover. My 2 year old can do all the activities by himself. Your children will love the story and activities. With how much replay value this app has it is a steal for .99 cents. I am so glad I got it for my son he absolutely loves it..Version: 1

Good Book, Bad BookThe story is cute. The activities are fun. My son loves Grover and Elmo. Ok,... That's about it for the good. Now, on to the bad; it has crashed several times already, it is PAINfully slow to load each page (we have a 4th gen. iPod, running iOS5), it's quite a short read, and the story is not as engaging as the original since (as other reviewers have stated) Grover is now mostly talking to Elmo instead of the child reading the book. If the crashing and slow loading is fixed, this would be a perfectly adequate book, especially at the .99 price..Version: 1

LOVE!!!!!!I loved this book when I was young!! Elmo has always been my favorite!! When I came across this app (in my 30s) I HAD to have it!! I got it on sale for $0.99, but have gifted it to others at full price & didn't think twice about it!! My 17 month old niece LOVES playing it!! She looks at me and says "Monser?" And I know what she wants!! It gives us a great opportunity for some one on one time & she gets better & better at the activities each time!!!.Version: 2.2

Fantastic for iPadI have the book and love it so I bought this book/app for our iPad and it is the best ever. My 20 month old loves this app. It is his favorite and asks for it by name "Elmo" worth the price. Very interactive. My two older sons 7 and 9 like it too, they love playing it with the baby. We bring the iPad with us to the doctors office and other places and this book keeps him busy and entertained..Version: 1.1

MehMy son and I were super excited to try this app as the original was our second favorite kids book (behind only Dino Boy). The sequel is enjoyable and definitely worth the introductory price of a buck, but the activities aren't as interesting and the Elmo/ Grover interaction takes away from the charm of the original. In the original, Grover was talking directly to the reader and my son delighted in Grover's reactions to our turning the pages but in this story Elmo takes over the role of pushing " Mr Grover" through the book, which is much less engaging even to my son who loves Elmo..Version: 1

An excellent app, then why 3 starsI bought the first one, it was fantastic app. My students loved it. They were all laughing as they listened to the story and it has a very good feature, which is you can click on any word, it pronounces the word. It's very good for students to learn new words because they can click on the word they don't know instead of listening to the whole page again, but this app 2 does not have that feature. So I'm gonna change my ratings when the feature is added..Version: 3

Great Follow up book!!My daughter fell in love with the original "Monster at the end of this book" book and then app. When I saw this was released, it was a MUST have. I bought it as soon as I saw it. We were not disappointed! Just as wonderful as the first! Thank you do much for making an app that stimulates my daughter's interest in reading! Please make more after these classic stories they are great!!!!.Version: 1

No problems hereI just want to write that I have an iPad 1 and this app has not crashed on me once. People might be complaining because they have never upgraded their OS. That being said, my 2 year old absolutely loves is app. It is among the best apps available for children. My 4 and 6 year nephews are amazed when they see this app as well..Version: 1.1

Great app!My kids 2 and 5 love this app! The characters are engaging and the voices are true to Sesame Street. We "read" this over and over again. I also like that the words are highlighted as the characters say them, so my 5-year-old is able to follow the words like an early reader book. I remember this book from my childhood, but the addition of Elmo is a nice addition..Version: 3

My 21 month old loves itMy son is almost two. He likes that there is things for him to do as the story goes along. He likes that he can drop the menu down at the top and pick his favorite page to do over and over. (He really likes knocking down the blocks lol) I am told it is about the same as the one with Grover, they just added Elmo to this one..Version: 4.0

Great Book, could be longerMy daughter loves the book. I thought it would have a few more pages, but for $0.99 it's still an amazing bargain. It functions perfectly on our iPad 2 and iPhone 4s. To the people complaining about crashing try restarting your device. You're supposed to do that any time you get new apps..Version: 1

AwesomeI work at a children's hospital and even though I had watched there is a monster at the end of this book I still loved it but it was nice to have this book now as well! As soon as I saw the book version I mentioned to a coworker that I hoped they would make an app and here it is. All I can say is thank you thank you thank you the kids at the hospital love it!!!.Version: 1

My daughter loves it! Works perfectly!I don't understand why people rate 1 star, just cuz they can't get a perfectly working app to run on their device. Before you give up and spread your grinch like comments, put a little effort in, research your problem and be patient. This app worked for me right away. Great animations and voice-overs! More than worth the dollar price!.Version: 1

Better than the firstI highly recommend #2 before #1 for an audience of 3 & under. The first story was too much for my 2 year old. It was scary for her due to the roaring emphasis on monster and the need to scare/disobey Grover to move forward. Elmo is a welcome addition... keeping the story more balanced and cheerful throughout. Also, thank you taking the roar and scary font off the word monster..Version: 1

Will not openWe have a first gen ipad and this app will not go past loading screen. Can a developer assist"? I have tried reinstalling, my daughter loves Elmo so any help would be appreciative and I will change my rating. Update jan 12 we are now getting past loading screen, but now sticks at the steel door with colors. So upped stars from one to three but until bugs are fixed will not up to five.Version: 1.1

Great app!I love the first Monster app and so I got this one for the little ones in my family. Having Elmo in the mix makes it a lot more fun. It looks like the people behind this app were really thinking like children when they created both apps. Good job. I strongly recommend getting this app if you have Grover and Elmo fans in your house..Version: 1

Very well made bookMy 15 month old loves this book. I had to help her 4-5 times to navigate thru the challenges that Grover throws at the reader, but after that this is one of her favorite books. I only wish there are more such books on the AppStore..Version: 1.1

If you can't hear the soundIf you can't hear the sound, take your phone off vibrate mode. I did that and was able to hear it just fine. I had no issues of the app crashing either. My 2 yr old daughter loved it!.Version: 1.1

It's ok.I loved the first one so we got this one too. I am kind of disappointed because it is almost the same book. I also feel like it is less interactive because Grover is talking to Elmo instead of the reader. As the reader you aren't drawn into what is going on as much. It is definitely a sequel and I was hoping it would be equal in quality, rather then just another sequal..Version: 1.1

Fun for my 2 and 4 year oldsMy kids love this. It makes them laugh out loud. The developers have snuck in a lot of pre-literacy and problem-solving skills--the words light up as they are read, and kids must complete a small task to turn each page. Highly recommend..Version: 1

A must have for kidsThis is exactly what a kids iPad book should be. Honestly I'm not sure if my wife or my son likes this book more. Really great interaction and graphics. Perfectly integrated with the iPad touch screen. This is a must have for kids and will keep them entertained for hours..Version: 1

We love it!My son and I love spending time together reading this story. He is two and loves all the hidden interactive activities the story has to offer. And since I'm on maternity leave for a few more weeks this app gives us a chance to review some of the concepts he is/was learning at school!.Version: 3

Monster 2The animations are fun to watch. Each of the activities can be done over and over again. I am finding that the app seems to be running slower lately. My grandson and granddaughter each enjoy reading the story over and over again.Version: 3

So worth it!My daughter is almost 2, and absolutely loves this app. It keeps her entertained for 10-15 minutes at a time, which is a long time for her age. She loves Elmo and Grover, and has quickly learned how to do the activities on each page..Version: 1.1

More like this pleaseThis is a great app...just like the first book. Sesame, please make more apps like this versus the boring '"unanimated" books that are still very expensive. My 2 year old daughter loves Sesame Street, but wants to see the monsters come to life on the iPad..Version: 1.1

Great appThis is my 19 month old's favorite app. Every day he grabs the iPad asking for Elmo. He has learned how to complete all of the interactive puzzles, although his favorite is knocking down the tower of blocks. Thank you for your continuos work in making this app excellent..Version: 2.0

I just ❤️❤️❤️❤️ this gameI’m 😶but besides that I ❤️ this game Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.Version: 6.1.7

Very cute!My daughter loves reading this book and has for the past couple of years. She is 5 years old now and still enjoys reading it. It's one of the best interactive books for kids on the App Store..Version: 4.0

Terrific storyMy grandchildren loved the "Monster at the end of this book" so much that I had to have this one available for them to enjoy as well. Absolutely terrific fun for them both....2 and 5 years old..Version: 4.0

Great App/storyMy kids love this story. It is interactive, Elmo and Grover are funny and it takes me back to my Sesame Street days. My 2 year old loves it and my 4 year old will play it every now and then as well.Version: 4.0

Five starMy son loves this..Version: 3

The absolute best story for toddlersThe best.Version: 3

GreatMy toddlers love this interactive story of characters they love..Version: 3

Awesome app!My 3 year old loved it!.Version: 3

The 'go to' appMy kids love it and use it at least once per day. My daughter has been able to increase her skills using the iPhone and understanding cause and effect..Version: 3

AwesomeMy cousin loves this (and so do my little brother!!) ha.Version: 3

Monster booksExcellent!.Version: 3

EXCELLENTLove how this book is interactive with the paper clips , glue you have to remove before Elmo can turn the page. Looking for another interactive book like this. My 4 yr old non verbal boy giggles in the cutest way..Version: 2.1

Worth every penny!Awesome! My 2 year old loves it and it hasn't lost it's appeal after a dozen reads! If he is happy then so am I!!.Version: 2.0

There goes my pay cheque!I've read the other reviews, and I have had NO problems at all. It is an absolute favorite in this house, and even I chuckle at Grover's antics. In fact, I have found every Sesame Street app to be of a fairly high quality, hence my rapidly disappearing pay cheque. But for a three year old boy getting ready to learn to read, it's worth it..Version: 1.1

Chris JWonderful interactive book. My four year old loves this book..Version: 1

My daughter loves it!This is just as good as the first but a bit too pricey for a kids app!.Version: 1.1

A bit steep...A bit pricey but 3 year old loves it! I don't think the infatuation will last long enough for the price, but perhaps....Version: 1.1

Very cuteLovely app. Price is a bit steep, but my 4 year old enjoys it..Version: 1
