This is a great app for writing place and Scripts but it has a few bugs it does everything I want it to do but occasionally it'll delete a character description and it prompts you every day every time you open the app to give them a review which can be a little annoying but it is awesome at putting your script in PDF form and being able to email it directly from your phone

I am a user of your playwriter app. I enjoy it greatly but after the recent software update on apple products I have found that the app is not currently compatible with iOS11. I looked into it on my iPad but have found no solution and so I was told the next best option would be to contact you directly about an update. I want to keep using your product because I believe it is fantastic so I hope there is a solution quickly that can be made. Thank you.

I’ve written 3 plays, a set of monologues, and working on another play currently. IVE using this app across 8 years. Great for beginners. Wish there were updates and that I could continue my writing across different devices. Unfortunately, Once you start on one device you have to finish on that device.

It won't stop asking for a rating before giving me time to give a honest review of the app. I hope that by giving this review I won't see any more of the annoying prompts that are constantly popping up while trying to figure out how this app works ~ until the prompts go away I can't really say how I like the app.

It is so hard to find a good play writing app nowadays. But this, THIS, is the perfect app. For one of my projects we had to write and shoot a movie. I thought quickly and used this app because i had downloaded it years ago and never used it. I got an A+ on that paper! i started using this app more frequently after that. Thank you!

I am really liking this app so far but get the rating issue fixed. I kept trying to rate it and it takes me to the wrong app. Other that I like the layout and easy use of this app. It would be nice if you could put page numbers in...or am I missing how to do it?

This has made writing my first play easy and inspiring. Rather than dealing with a bunch of formatting, this provides directions and dialogue for each character, flexibility. It is pretty sweet. Plus I am emailing a PDF, or can print from iPad directly. I am a teacher and am writing my class's script (with their ideas and characters). I am super satisfied!

The app hasn't been updated since 2013 which is frustrating because I want to keep being able to use it.

A good play writing tool I am able to use effectively on Ipad for writing a Seven act, 44 Scene play with about 120 characters. Shortcomings: 1. There should be a way to pre-define Props, Music and Lighting controls like characters and scenes so that they can be cataloged like list of characters and scenes. 2. I wish there is a way to get a mapping of scene-character, Character-Scene etc in formatting. 3. I wish there was a way to generate sides.

Definitely better than using Microsoft Word and typing all the character names and everything else. AWESOME app. However, IT TELLS ME TO RATE IT EEEVVVEEERRRYYY TTTIIIMMMEEE I OPEN IT!!! Please fix! Otherwise, LOVE THIS APP CUZ I💖🎭!!!

It's a great app! It really helped me a lot on writing a musical, you should get this app. It's amazing!

UPDATE: JAN 21, 2013 - I tracked down the creator of the app. Last year was a bad year for the dude and I feel for him. He was unaware of the problems with this app until I brought it to his attention. He is dedicated to fixing the app and eventually bring more features for us. Hang tight; a new version is coming. If you're like me, you love the simplicity and power of this app. I trust it'll be worth the wait. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I wasn't expecting much, but this little app helped me flesh out characters, scenes and create some preliminary dialogue while on a plane trip today. It doesn't have all of the subtleties of Celtx, but Play Writer is actually a great tool to bang out that first draft. I love how it keeps track of characters and their lines/scenes. I love how it easily creates a script that can be emailed. What would give it a 5? Dropbox integration, or sync capabilities so that I can keep my iPad and iPhone on the same page. Great work!

Playwriter is a great app

I love this app but you can't really see what you type about the characters and you can't click on to many people for dialogue. I put 4 stars because it also needs to be updated sometimes. I have never updated it ever. Get some more things on there!

Just what I was looking for. A very user friendly app to write plays in and it has plenty of extra features. I only wish you could transfer your script from one device to the other and sync them.

This is a great app for making script writing easy. It formats it all for you and has a lot of extra features.

When I saw the app in the store, I was pleased because this is just what I was looking for. I downloaded it and have been using it to write my scripts. I love that you can email and share your script in the format that it's in. The reason that I did not rate this five stars, and it something that has been driving me insane, is because of the prompt that comes up every time I go into the app that says "Rate this app, remind me later, or no thanks" I opted for remind me later because I wanted to try the application a little more before actually gave it a fair rating. However, when the app is running or every time I go back to it that same prompt keeps popping up before I can actually use it. The other annoying thing, is that every time I make a decision to rate the app, it takes me to another app and I'm unable to rate the app so that the prompt can cease. Though I greatly enjoy this application, that bug is enough to make me want to look elsewhere for a script writing application.

This app looks like exactly what I need. However, it doesn't work the way it should. Any time you close the app, or open a different script you're working on (I often work on multiple scripts at a time) it deletes all the characters and scenes you've personalized for that script. I spent a ton of time filling out character descriptions for my one act, only to come back and find everything I'd done gone! Maybe it's just my version? But I am honestly disappointed. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but all I got was a waste of money. It seems to work for some people, and it makes me sad I'm not one of those people! I'll sadly be deleting this app.

:P It doesn't even pop up the right app when you agree to rate it. I am still getting used to the app right now. I might update this rating later.

I like this app but the rate me glitch is really annoying. Please fix

I love the idea and the ease of use. But the format is wrong for a play script.

My content disappears, characters from one play appear in another. Simply dysfunctional! Would be very cool if they ever fix the bugs.

It's annoying and I can't it take me to another app!

I'm using this app with my students as a way to adapt scenes from literature to the stage. While I like the scene detail, scene location, and character description features (this allows for brief character analysis), the app does have some problems. The first major issue is that the lines get cut off while typing in the dialogue boxes, so it's impossible to see what words you are typing at a certain point. There is a limit to the lines you can see in the actual scene; lines get cut off and it is impossible to read what comes next. The scrolling feature is also limited. One student found that her lines kept getting "shuffled" as she attempted to set up the lines and stage directions. As much as I love the concept of this app, I'm afraid there are more drawbacks than benefits.

It started off great. Helped me organize thoughts and characters. Dialogue went fine at first. Then I edited some dialogue and after clicking Done it jumbled up the order of all my dialogue! First time it happened I was surprised, second time angry and the third time I am now giving up on this app. Too bad but it is useless if it keeps arbitrarily switching around the order of my dialogue.

The concept of this app is wonderful, however it is very frustrating to deal with the dialogue box rearrangements not being able to see the text you write. As well as the character bar, if you have a certain amount of characters you can't scroll down to select the ones at the bottom of the list. It hinders your creative flow!

This app is great for writing plays. However, there are a few glitches. For example, when opening a saved play, the dialogue is out of sequence. Also, sometimes it won't allow scrolling through the dialogue box. If these concerns are addressed, this app would rate five stars. It is fun to use. Until then one star is the best we can do. Please update this app with these fixes!

This started out well, but then frustration mounted as the dialogue box is uncooperative: I can not see what I am typing on the right side of the box. If I blindly type and make a mistake, I don't know where to place the cursor to go back and fix it because I can't see where the mistake is until I close the box and read my script.

I had the same issues with the dialogue box, I was so ready to just begin writing a great story... Totally lost my spirit to write... Waste of money and more importantly TIME.

I opened the app on the iPad doesn't work at all ! Won't let me do anything Very unhappy

Piece of crap. Wrong formatting for a play. Unbelievably clunky interface for writing. Give back my $3
