Depop - Buy & Sell Clothes App Comments & Reviews

Depop - Buy & Sell Clothes Positive Reviews

SuspendedVery annoying. I took the time to upload items for sale on DePop and they flagged 3 or 4 saying they are counterfeit (which is completely false) then when I appeal their decision they suspend my entire account. I’ve had this account for at least a year and sell authentic items! They do not respond to you as well nor have not reactived my account. You’d think I’d get a response. You’d think they would not mark items as counterfeit or they would allow you to pay to authenticate your items! DePop is FULL of fake items but yet my authentic ones get flagged and I get suspended! It’s ridiculous!!!! Maybe you should get bettter customer support because I still have NOT had someone to talk to about reactivating my account! Also, when they flagged my items they said to send in proof or receipt. Sometimes people purchase items that are authentic but preloved do they may not have a receipt!! In that case allow people to authenticate them through DePop like eBay does!!! This app is a joke. Don’t waste your time they will only remove your account after you take the time to enlist everything!! And go ahead and send that same copy paste reply that you are sending everyone else on here. That you will look into the account if I feel I was treated wrong. I replied appealing to the email is how I got suspended! Pathetic customer service! You wont even contact anyone back is why I’m leaving this review!.Version: 2.269

TERRIBLE APPI have had a Depop for a few months now and I’ve had a few sales and I never had a problem with my registration with my PayPal account connected to my Depop everything was perfectly synced and I was all approved. I was able to ship all my items having the shipping labels all fine but in my last sale I have a perv a problem that I have not been able to print out my label because of a problem with Depop and PayPal. When I reached out to PayPal they say it’s not their problem and that to reach out to Deepak I reached out to Depop several times throughout the emails and I’ve gotten responses back and then been totally ignored over email!! Alongside this a Depop is a very hard app to manage you cannot just delete your account you have to email the company which is very confusing why there is a point in doing that!! And there is a lot of hidden fees that are in Depop you may think that using Poshmark is worse because there’s a 20% reduction in pay instead of a 10% and the pop is actually tricking you and taking a bunch of money once you see it in your PayPal. Overall I am very disappointed with the customer service in Depop ignoring me several times having no one to call no phone numbers if they don’t even respond to their emails! I’ve had this problem with a buyer over a week because of Depop to be able to give me my shipping label which I’ve been able to do so many times before and I do not want to get bad reviews because of an issue that I have not caused! I have to give five stars a rest my review won’t go through hmmm fishy.Version: 2.116

Better than other online resale platforms even fancy ones. Easy returns. Shipping $$$.What’s up with the terrible tiny images that are impossible to expand to full screen so it’s basically impossible to see, and seemingly only made for users of mobile phones. And ouch! Droop’s shipping costs will cost you $$$. So even when buying multiple items from one seller, shipping doesn’t get bundled! When I asked one seller to put two tops into one bag and charge me for one shipping, she said she didn’t know how to do it and thought she couldn’t. I ended up receiving one empty bag and one bag with two shirts. Yes I was charged for two shippings! Uuuugh! That’s a total waste of resources, environmentally extremely unfriendly and a huge cost to me. It seems like it only makes sense if it’s another source of revenue for Depop. But one of the best things is how much better it is on Depop for returns and maybe refunds!RETURNS are much better than on any other platform! You deal with the seller directly instead of through Depo. It’s much quicker. And most of the sellers have been really good to deal with. But with the teeny tiny images, it’s easy to get tricked. Be sure to ask to see clear pics of the reverse, bottom, underside, opening, lining of any item’s image. Ask and get answers and don’t buy before you know all the answers, see all the images clearly. PS: All in all, I’ve loved the Depop platform!.Version: 2.363

Need to fix update and work on customer serviceI’ve been selling on here for over 2 years now and this is my poor experience. The app keeps crashing every time I try to check my notifications or even if I’m sharing my own listings. App tends to freeze and then close, super frustrating please fix this. I also want to complain about the scammers on your platform you never seem to care about. The customer service is awful I keep getting my listings deleted because they are too much of a great quality and Depop automatically assumes I stole and re-listed stock photos. Also if you have any issue they take MONTHS to solve it let alone solve your issue. I had to wait over a year to get some fees reimbursed after I did a refund for a few customers. I suggest trying another selling platform like vinted, ebay, poshmark, tradesy, Shopify and so on. I’m a top rated plus seller and to be honest Depop needs a lot of improvements. I’ve also had accounts steal my photos and Depop did nothing about it even after bringing up my issue to customer care. They tend to favor big shops even if they are not following guidelines. That is the honest truth as to why I don’t even try to sell anymore on this platform. Scammers are also everywhere be cautious if you sell designer or high priced items they tend to send messages trying to scam sellers but Depop does nothing about it..Version: 2.196

ImprovementsI appreciate the overall concept and certain aspects of Depop because I can conveniently make money off used clothes and also develop a clothing brand of my own , but there are a couple of features I would love to see Depop revamp/implement. First , I get it that sellers probably shouldn’t be notified which particular potential buyers have bagged their items so they won’t pressure the buyer into making that purchase , but it would be very helpful for sellers to get an idea of what time range the buyer added said item to their cart so we can make offers to users who liked that item(s) throughout the time range. Secondly, Depop could have a little tiny section maybe just a small corner of the home page that tells you which times in your time zone generate the most overall Depop activity. Going a step further, eventually the technology could improve to share the activity of users surrounding particular styles of items which you are selling. Lastly, I feel Depop should allow more leniency to sellers and rid the site of the “seller usually ships in ___ days” section of the bio. As a seller of both second hand and custom pieces, a second hand piece takes thirty minutes to assemble and drop off at the post office , whereas a cusom piece can take multiple days to perfect and ship out. Bc of the large difference in time I do not think it is fair for the ship time to account for only the longest amount of time..Version: 2.255

Good but frustratingI actually really like Depop. The app is really good for selling and buying clothes but the selling becomes frustrating at times. Almost every time I sell an item and I try to access the shipping label for it, it always says my PayPal account isn’t connected or my email isn’t verified, when none of that is true. I’ve disconnected and reconnected my account and I’ve verified my email and changed my passwords countless times. But no matter what, every time I go to print the shipping label, it always says the same thing. When I go on my computer to try to verify my account, I’ll click a link that says “verify account” and it’ll just say page not found. I just begin to get frustrated because, how am I supposed to ship the items and verify my account when I can’t even access a website that’s supposed to help me ?? Or it’ll give you instructions on how to verify your PayPal account and it all starts with “go to settings” when there is no settings button in the current PayPal app. Or it’ll say, “in your PayPal account, it’ll show red alerts where you need to fix information to verify your account” when there is no red alerts in my PayPal account. It also says when I try to print the label from my computer that my PayPal isn’t connected to my Depop account, when it shows the payment transaction in my PayPal app which doesn’t make sense. Even if my PayPal account actually wasn’t connected, how could I have completed orders in the past with the same accounts? So irritating..Version: 2.208.1

Unable to click profiles, like/save items, etc.Ive been using Depop for years with no issues whatsoever, until about maybe two months ago it’s developed bugs that make it extremely frustrating to shop and use the App. When browsing or doing anything, it won’t let me click 70% of seller’s posts or names in order to go to their profile/shop, nor will it let me “heart” or like their posts. it will only let me click and interact with very minimal random amounts of users and their posts. it makes it difficult to purchase items that I wanna purchase or save for later because I can’t click anything. I have literally had to use a piece of paper and write down sellers user names if I want to go try later and see if it’ll let me click on their profile and save or buy their item. And that list of usernames grows really fast because I use this site so much. and because it glitches so often it is starting to feel like every single post I see I have to write down because I can’t click it. I thought it was my phone, I tried deleting the app and reinstalling it multiple times, I’ve kept it up-to-date, and so I hope that this is an issue that is being worked on and that other people have not just me, not that I want other shoppers and sellers encountering this very annoying issue either. I don’t know why it would just randomly begin doing that, but it is making the app much less enjoyable and is massively taking away a lot of patience and desire i've had, as Depop is my go-to resale and shopping app and I miss being able to use it without getting irritated & giving up! so if this is something in the works please update as soon as possible! ♡.Version: 2.129

Overall company improvementI sold with Depop for about 6 years and have had no issues with the app up until recently. My PayPal disconnected from my Depop account so I could no longer make purchases or sales. I tried multiple times to reconnect the accounts but in the end couldn’t. At least on my end. This caused me to use other methods for payment means. I only made two transactions with other Depop accounts (who were also dealing with the same PayPal issue). Less than a few weeks pass and Depop suspends my account indefinitely. The emails I received explained that there had sent me many warnings which they did not and when I tried to explain this they defended themselves and said that their decision would not change. This has happened to many Depop stores. I had read under their one of Depop’s twitter page posts that a girl’s store was suspended for bullying when one of her buyers called her a racial slur. She provided screenshots as evidence and they never gave her account back. Depop needs to open up the payment options and allow users to dispute suspensions if the seller has proof and Depop should HONOR it. PayPal is a very buggy website and does not work for everyone. Instead of punishing the stores that are honest and true they should focus on better means for transactions, policies, and dispute customer service needs..Version: 2.103

Deceiving Listings are an IssueDepop is good; I like it. I’ve only used it for one purchase because I find some of the shipping prices pretty high, but it genuinely has the best selection of vintage and trendy clothes that you can find online. That being said I am a big fan of using filters to my advantage when buying vintage and price is a big part of that obviously. I’ve noticed recently that sellers have started to arbitrarily cut 90-95% off the prices of really great pieces that catch your eye and end up being $4-$7. It turns out this is a bit of a scheme to get “exposure,” and there is no option to buy the clothes but rather message them individually to open up some whole drawn out negotiation session where you don’t even know how much they want. I can’t imagine it is that efficient for them, but it certainly gets more clicks. This cuts through the whole convenience of buying something online, and with all the haggling I might as well go to vintage fairs nearby where I have more leverage. There are other posts like this that serve as advertisements that don’t promote clothes but their accounts. Overall it’s a tiring process, and there are many mirages that seem too good to be true and always are. I wish there was more moderation of that so it doesn’t muck up my feed while I’m trying to search for a certain item. But the community is very kind and the app is fun, so there is not too much hate coming from me..Version: 2.326.2

Semi-functionalThis app is easily the most accessible and most flexible online thrift market out there. It has a wide variety of quality of life features that make communicating with sellers and finding clothing effortless. That being said, I have some gripes. At least for me, their advanced search filters just straight up do not work (I’ll toggle on my sizes and the search results will barely change, showing clothing way to big or small for me regardless of filters). I don’t think this problem is helped by their boosting feature either, which supersedes any parameters you put on your searches. Loading times for some listings take forever or don’t open at all, and blocked user’s listings still show up on my recommended page and can’t be removed from liked and saved lists. Additionally, seller culture on this app is a gamble. I’ve met plenty of good people, but for what seems like a majority of shops, the pricing a are ridiculous and the listings are intentionally designed to deceive you about a product— provided it isn’t just a drop shipping scam already. Getting on this app kinda feels like trying to find a friend in Times Square and having to dodge people in Marvel and Disney costumes. Then again, it’s the internet, what can you expect? The app is fine, I would just suggest diversifying your online thrifting outlets. I think Depop works best when you can compare its listings to those on Mercari or Poshmark or Grailed pr wherever else one can shop..Version: 2.387.1

One of the worst customer service support I’ve ever experienced!I started on Depop selling very quickly! I was very proud of myself to getting reviews follows, as I listed a lot of stuff I didn’t use no more longer, I listed a pair of shoes. As soon I listed these shoes it kept disappearing? I was very unaware of what happened so I added 4 more times till I gave up. The next morning I woke up with 5 emails, and also I added these shoes at 9:00 PM for me and I’m not getting emails at 5 AM saying “COUNTERFEIT”! Im confused out of mind like what did I do? and it was the shoes I listed over and over that got considered fake. Now heres the thing I don’t show proof of the shoe because its been years since I first got them, in the photos exactly I show every stitching up close on shoes, and even the nike certification on the tip of the shoes. I say all of that because I contacted customer services multiple times and I kept getting the same answer “more close up on the item so we can see its real!” I mean do you guys even know what a Rep is surely everyone does, but nope after 5 appeals they stopped contacting me and now my account is suspended for however long so my money I made from my sales I don’t even know I’ll get back or the items I purchased I don’t know when they’ll come like stuff like this Depop should have a number to call by not this horrible customer service on their website by submitting, it looks like you guys just completely suspended my account I worked hard for for no reason because it looked quote on quote “fake” I will never use this app every again! I hope I get my money I made for sellin and shippin!.Version: 2.311.1

Thought and OpinionsI mainly started using this app from popular reviews and comments made by other people that I knew used it. I have already had this app for more than three years and there are some things that have irked me for quite some time now. One of those things would be how crazy expensive some of the sellers charge the buyers. This doesn’t apply to all sellers just the ones that charge something that was probably worth $10 and make it $20. A lot of these sellers on this app buy their clothes from thrift stores (which are relatively cheap) and charge double the price obviously assuming it wouldn’t go unnoticed. Then the cost of shipping and taxes increase the cost of the product $10 more. It honestly better to go to your local thrift store yourself instead of using this app. Even apps like Poshmark and eBay is a better option as a resale marketplace compared to this one. As a resale marketplace you need make sure that the clothes are actually affordable to your target audience since no one is looking to buy an already used product for double it’s original price. The only thing that I would understand is if the person is creating the material since I know people use the app to market their product like jewelry and clothes they made but their stuff like Etsy that do it way better than this app if I’m being honest. I don’t usually leave reviews unless something really bothers me but that’s all I had to say..Version: 2.326.1

ImprovementsSo far I like this app to get a couple bucks in my pockets. I think it's a great app and has a lot of potential to grow a lot more. I used to use another buy & sell app (not mentioning the name because I don't want to be on here promoting another app) but that other app has made me A LOT of money simply because that app made it so so easy for users to find my listings. I think Depop should me make a couple improvements when it comes to the listings. 1.Create a new feature where we can actually share our listings therefore i listings are getting views and are not forgotten in our feed. By us being able to share new listings are listing are going to be visible to others because it will go in the feed. The more we share the more are listings get views. So for example we we have a homepage and everytime our friends share a listing of their own items or other friends items it goes into our feed"homepage" and walaaah! We are able to see new items and have a lot more potential sales. Also having a "favorite" option to add our favorite users would be great because that way we can always easily go back to their feed and see if they posted new things. I have a lot more feedback. Hopefully these ones are taken into consideration as I do believe that making the listings more visible would me great for the app..Version: 2.29.1

The future is brightThere is a lot about this app that I like! The shipping process is very simple! Leaving buyers & sellers reviews is super easy! The percentage Depop earns is low so you get a larger portion of what you sell in comparison to similar apps. If you’re looking for unique items this is an app for you. Unique items are everywhere & not everything has to be name brand. I find beautiful items all the time that are stylish & aren’t name brand. The focus should be on esthetic & how you style an item. My absolute favorite part is the expression of creativity. Depop is a place where you can bring the creative vision you have for your shop alive! Everyone puts a lot of thought into bringing their vision alive! Each shop has its own vibe, & I think that’s so cool! My only complaint is that it is very hard to get ahold of anyone at Depop. If you ever have a pressing issue the process is really annoying & time consuming. Returns & exchanges should be easier. But above all else communication should definitely be improved! Whether it be through email, phone, or through the app there should be a point of contact. It means a lot to hear a voice on the other end of the phone, or knowing there’s a real person emailing you who is concerned & willing to help. In my opinion this app could use some work here & there but 90% of it is working & very user friendly! I can’t wait to see what this app will be like in a year or two. ❤️.Version: 2.23.2

Quality of life?Overall, this is a great app. i started my resale journey on a much smaller app, and although depop has gotten me more sales, there are some QoL pieces that would be great to see in the future. one being a kind of vacation mode. this is what led me to write the review. if we had a way of flipping a setting on and off that made it obvious to any potential buyers viewing your page/items that things cannot be shipped/messages cannot be responded to for the time it is on, i think that would ease a lot of sellers’ minds and destress buyers who realize only after purchasing that the seller is not currently available. i think it is unfair to assume buyers will look through someone’s feed to see if they’re out of town, etc. second being a way to see what has sold. not just by viewing and scrolling a specific sellers’ page, but perhaps as a search filter. it would be a nice way to get pricing ideas based on stuff that /has/ sold and not things that haven’t yet. third: the ability to list items under multiple categories. i struggle to list what i’m selling because often clothing can be worn by all genders. this in turn affects searching as well. i find tees for my boyfriend while searching women’s wear. y’know, unisex stuff and all. these suggestions aside, i really appreciate how easy it is to use depop. the message feature is a game changer and there’s no begging for reviews. i experienced a spam bot, and the account was deleted less than an hour after i reported it. so!! wonderful in the grand scheme of things, but improvements can always be made. ♡.Version: 2.74

PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR SELLERSI think the app is good but there’s obviously some bugs. This isn’t really isn’t about my experience because I was lucky enough to have a good experience with depop so far. I convinced my bf and sister to get depop to let go some of their items & make cash. However both of them experienced not receiving shipping labels EVEN WHEN THEIR PAYPALS ARE VERIFIED. And I’m sorry depop but your support team needs a lot of work. For my bf it took two weeks to get the shipping label for ONE out of TWO items people bought from him. My sister is STILL WAITING for them to get back to her. My bf deleted his old depop account to try and see if it’ll work on his new account and the SAME THING HAPPENED. Plus the support team sent the same advice to verify your account to my bf when he had already made it clear that it was already verified and he couldn’t get the label. He ended up paying out of pocket for shipping for one of the items because he wasn’t able to access the shipping label. Now that the same incident is happening again to my bf it is stressing him out because he might have to go through this process all over again. He’s going to check one more time to see if his account is verified for sure. He told me that if this doesn’t get resolved he’s going to quit depop and sell elsewhere..Version: 2.96

Needs To Be Transparent With The FeesThere’s a lot to love about Depop. I use this platform more than Grailed Etsy or OfferUp as it’s very user friendly and is home to a widespread community of sellers with amazing pieces. I’ve been using Depop for almost three years and while I love the app and will continue to use it, I do have my fair share of grievances. Lately Depop hasn’t been transparent with all the fees that are removed from your sales. On the site it says that there’s a 10% Depop fee and 2.9% + 30¢ PayPal fee removed from the total sale. But when there’s a sale that goes straight to your bank account there’s payment fees or transaction fees. The main issue is that the percentage that’s taken from the sale is not disclosed on the Depop site. It also isn’t disclosed which sales would you be charged a payment fee or a transaction fee. There’s a reason why on their fees page it says 18 out of 155 people found it helpful. For someone, like me, who wants to keep track of sales and calculate profit/return, it is very difficult to to do so with no information about those extra fees. Besides the fact that sellers are kept in the dark about fees, another issue is how sellers aren’t able to rearrange their listings in app. Having to go back and forth from the desktop website to the app is pretty inconvenient and kinda contradicts what I said earlier about the app being user-friendly. But I digress, Depop is a great app and if you have some clothes that you no longer wear and want to earn some money on the side, this is the perfect platform to do so..Version: 2.134

UnFu**N-Believable!!!!Unbelievable. Have to put five stars just to get your review Viewed!!! Zero stars or magazine for that matter Bc that how much they care about you and me. Unreal that people can buy trash bags full of used donated stained clothes & model & sell them for 50$ a pop. And get away with it. Be promoted for great photo ‘editing & style’... smfh But yet in the past 18months I have been kicked off DEPOP platform for next to nothing & with No Explanation countless times. No emails for why or how, Or what I had done. After second time around I was told by a chance support response Iv had too many ‘complaints’ against me 🤔 That funny bc I didn’t even know there was one.?! If someone files a complaint against another user, the ‘alleged’ is not informed rightfully; & given chance to defend themselves against, bots spams haters or spiteful claims?? Bc I have proof of authenticity & have a real stalker in life, that blatantly searches & destroys my every attempt at success in life. So give this is the most applicable reason for my complaints, anybody can say anything bout another user and they are removed? It is funny bc they are not only platform to do this to me. MERC did. Etsy did. And it is quite disheartening when nobody gives you benefit of the doubt. Only platform that has ever showed regard for my say is posh. I’ll forever stay faithful to them for so. With no regard for your sellers you don’t deserve to make such money off these people trying make a living it is quite disgusting & highway unjust robbery. Hopefully posh buys you out sooner than later. Peace.Version: 2.117.1

Good enough for meI’ve had Depop for a while now and I’ve enjoyed it a lot for the most part as a buyer (haven’t experienced selling yet). I thought I hated shopping for clothing before I found Depop. I guess I just hate leaving my cozy home and the general styles I see at the mall and whatnot, but while using Depop I’m able to shop from the comfort of my house and find a variety of cute options of clothing in much lesser time than I would at a physical store. It’s easy to use and I’ve found so many nice outfits that I adore, and most are vintage meaning it’s likely I never would have had the opportunity to purchase without Depop. Plus, buying second hand clothing is environment friendly :) One complaint I do have though is that the app exits me out after a certain amount a time, which can get a bit irritating because I lose where I’m browsing. I hope this gets fixed, or that an option to check our browsing history is made available. I’m also glad that the app doesn’t give annoying notifications, except when they’re necessary, like follower updates/pm messages/comments from other users etc. I’ve seen that a lot of people have other (less positive) things to say about it, but for a shopping app, I think it’s a lot better in comparison to others and that it’s done a great job for the most part..Version: 2.19.1

Love depop, hate depop rulesI love depop, i think it’s so much fun and so interesting to find handmade items, jewelry, art, antiques, all different styles of clothing, wigs, etc. everyone is so friendly, prices are cheap & shipping is generally fast depending on the seller. This app is like a trendy thrift shop, just you can shop in your bed. However, it can be VERY irritating at times. I was logging in and forgot my password, i tried probably 4 times before getting the notification that i had to wait 23 hours to get back into my account. I found it extremely EXTREMELY ridiculous:/ most apps send you an email and have you reset your password. this is so much more convenient. I also during this process was informed that i had an account that i genuinely had no idea existed. it’s a depop rule that you can only have one account. so even though i had no idea i had an old account, i was suspended from the account i use for around 36 hours. this again, was absolutely ridiculous. it took depop a very long time to contact me back, and they have no number to call and talk to a customer service representative. the actual app is awesome. the rules and customer service.... not so awesome. i highly recommend fixing and chilling out on some of these rules because i think you could definitely lose some depop users over the excessive nature of the rules. however if like me you would like to use this app until they fix it, don’t do what i did and just hit the accept button on the rules, read them all, believe me it’s worth it, the trouble you go through to fix it all isn’t worth it!! hope this helps.Version: 2.21.1

Occasional good find, otherwise abysmalAlthough Depop can be a resource for the occasional great vintage find, the customer service, and the expectations placed on sellers is garbage, and is certainly what’s making it harder in the era of “everyone can do everything”/rampant mediocrity for those of us that actually sell online professionally and with service standards to get by. Although there are some great vintage, professional vintage sellers on the app, the vast majority of clothing and accessories are 90s-era thrift store trash listed by 22 year olds. I’ve been using this app for about half a year or less, and I’ve had to contact customer service at least 5 times for purchases items not being shipped, sellers ignoring my messages and requests for information after purchasing, items arriving with undisclosed damage and stains, and so on. A great example: I had to contact CS just this morning for an item supposedly shipped (the seller would not provide tracking) 2 weeks ago from someone in the SAME CITY as me that still hasn’t arrived. Depop’s response? “Looks like this customer sells a lot on Depop, so they’re probably just a little behind!” ... are you kidding me? How hard is it to put a piece of lingerie in the mail and ship it, especially if they’re such an “active seller”? I’m fed up with this app, and dealing with idiots who lie about the condition of their clothing and shipping status with NO repercussions from the app. For reference: I’ve been selling (and buying) clothing on Etsy and EBay for years and have NEVER experienced anything like this, much less in a 4 month span..Version: 2.19

Awesome, butI love this app! It’s so much more aesthetically pleasing and simplistic compared to other apps, and it’s super easy to get a hang of! The app itself is great in function, but it can be really difficult to find good stuff since a lot of people find a $3 toddler shirt thrifting and then sell it for $47 as a “rare baby tee”. It’s also REALLY common for people to put the brand as Brandy Melville just for exposure when it’s actually something from H&M. The app tried to discourage from doing this, but everyone does it anyway. However, you can still find a gem at a great price every once in a while. I have a suggestion that would make the app easier to use- while there are filters on the app to easily find what you’re looking for, I think it would make it even easier if there was a “sort by” option- ex. newest to oldest, lowest to highest price. This would be especially helpful for the “saved” section. I also think it would be great if you could automatically see which items you liked are already sold, similar to how you can see the word “sold” on top of items that you’ve saved. There are a few things that aren’t perfect, but overall, this app that’s structured almost like social media makes buying and selling secondhand clothing really easy and fun!.Version: 2.103

Loved Depop, but they banned me for a listing that wasn’t even active on my account w no heads up :(Okay, let me start by saying I absolutely LOVED this app and I’m a highly rated reseller on multiple different platforms and they’re also great, but if you’ve just got way too much stuff & don’t mind pricing things for a little less than you may have paid for them originally or you’re looking to sell things quickly, this is most definitely the right place. (Works both ways as there’s a huge variety of things at a huge discount, Depop is perfect for college or high school kids & those in their 20’s in my opinion) I made the most money out of all 4 of my platforms on here for almost a year. I wasn’t aware that you were not supposed to post electronics, due to the amount of listings by other resellers successfully selling straighteners, hair tools, nail drills, etc so I posted a pair of Dre Beats Studio headphones. A girl actually dm’d me warning me about them, so I deactivated the listing. It hadn’t been active in at least a week, but out of nowhere I couldn’t get on my account anymore. They gave me no warning, no heads up, and immediately, permanently, completely closed my account. And apparently I can’t create another one. I was so upset. And I had about $78 in packages I’d just sent out so I had a balance on there. I couldn’t login to see what my balance was but thankfully I just happened to check before I logged out for the last time. But I had to email them for almost a month before they even paid my balance out to me. So 😭 DO NOT POST ANY ELECTRONICS GUYS.Version: 2.325

Updated ReviewUPDATE: After writing this review, a developer reached out sending me a link to re-appeal the decision. Upon doing so, a new person took over my case and was able to remove the review. I am very appreciative and will continue to do business on Depop. I will keep my original comment down below in case anyone may find themselves in a similar situation. I’ve been an active seller on Depop for about two years. For the most part I’ve had good experiences until recently. I sold a pair of shoes, advertised as a size 6 to a buyer. The buyer rated me a 1 star because the shoes were too big & she compared them to a European size despite me never listing them as so. She also made some petty comments confirming that she knew she was in the wrong. Regardless I reported this to Depop as this was a clear unfair review. The buyer also reached out to me ADMITTING it was her fault and she was not interested in a dispute because she “donated” the shoes. Depop told me they will not remove the review because the buyer is refusing to open a dispute. Despite all the evidence I submitted, I kept getting the same bot response. So for that reason I made the choice to leave depop and sell somewhere else. Absolutely ridiculous but whatever, Depop would rather lose $$$ than help their sellers..Version: 2.313

Great app, still has room to improveI have been buying and selling through Depop for almost a year now. It’s very easy to use on both counts, and I’ve found some really unique pieces I love. I have very alternative taste in clothing, so I can’t generally find things in typical high street stores, but Depop always has stuff that’s perfect for me. My main complaint is the massive influx in dropshipping. If Depop won’t ban it outright, they should create a separate section for it. It’s difficult to search for anything when the app is clogged up with hundreds of people selling the exact same cheap Chinese knockoffs, and annoying to see listings for something for $50 that you can buy from Wish or Aliexpress yourself for $5. It’s especially scummy that they never disclose that this is what they’re doing, and often explain the 4 to 6 week shipping time as the item being ‘made to order’, which implies that *they* are the one making it, not some Chinese sweatshop. That’s borderline scamming, and I think they should at least be required to make it clear when they’re dropshipping. The misusing of tags also needs to be fixed, because as is, it’s almost impossible to find a specific brand when sellers flood the tags with unrelated items. Finally, I wish they’d ditch the fuzzy searching - for example, searching the keyword ‘clown’ will also return results for ‘crown’, etc..Version: 2.56

Sellers be cautiousI do like the app but i think depop sides more with buyers when it comes to returns and staff for depop customer service doesn’t know much and give conflicting information. I had someone mark something as “not described” that was as described. I sent photos and explained to them it is indeed as described and they still sided with the buyer even though I had proven it was fine They then said they would take the refund out of depop account and not my bank and they took it directly from my bank account. I also sell on other sites such as p0sh and had a similar issue although this buyer was much kinder and understanding, (this item was damaged in the mail by usps) the buyer was able to keep the item and receive a full refund and i was able to keep my money as well but again this was on P0sh. Funny how things are handled much differently…depop just sides with buyers and the staff gives the wrong information when you ask questions. I asked one person a question such as how does the refund work and I didn’t want it taken from my bank and they said it just stays negative in my depop until I make another sell but that was WRONG. What if I was overdraft!? I wasn’t but I could’ve been. I asked another person why it was taken from my account and they pretty much just said that’s standard. So makes no sense. Poorly informed customer service..Version: 2.305.1

Great findsI used to use depop to both sell and buy but I found it quite hard to sell even trendier items at the most affordable prices. But something is up with Depops featured/explore page. It’s ALWAYS the same sellers and even items that were sold a week ago that are still being featured. That’s frustrating for both sellers looking to be noticed, and buyers looking for good items. I hate when I click on something from the featured page thinking “oh this is cute” only to find that it was sold 6 days ago — why is it still even there?? It’s also frustrating to be scrolling down that page and you see... the same of everything. 90% striped clothing. Two days later, 90% blue things. Few days later the explore page is 90% belts, or some other random accessory. Does that happen to anybody else or am I crazy? I hate it. That being said, I have found some great stuff as a buyer. Some of my favorite items in my wardrobe are from depop and I love the sellers that go the extra mile to create a good transaction. I believe depop recently began giving buyers a tailored page “just for you” and your individual interests. Is this supposed to be based on your personal searches? Because at this moment, my “just for you” page is mainly comprised of dad sneakers... which I have never searched or clicked on once during my entire time on depop. I’ve shown 0 interest in them ... so why are they all I’m seeing?.Version: 2.43.2

Great App BUT One Major Flaw For SellersMy main issue with DePop, is an issue no other selling app like it’s competitors have such as; eBay, Poshmark, etc., is when someone makes you an offer, and you (the seller) accept the offer then the deal should be approved right then and there. Just like eBay, Poshmark, etc. INSTEAD, it sends ANOTHER redundant and unnecessary request back to the buyer to basically have them confirm AGAIN, that the seller in fact accepted your offer, are you sure you’d still like to buy this? Leaves a massive flaw and hole with this platform, the others are structured much better so it doesn’t waste the sellers time. I can’t tell you the amount of missed sales, ignored DMs, etc., after someone sends an offer, for me to accept it, then not even get the sale. It makes no sense. If you’re at an auction or any type of setting like that and make an offer to a seller, then they accept, the deal is done. So I warn sellers, this has potential to be a great platform for you to sell your stuff wether you’re a legit business or someone selling old clothes. Unfortunately, the platform has so much potential and will give it one last shot as I’ve only been doing this for 6+ months, but the app is designed in a weird way to where you will be wasting a lot of time and missed opportunities for sales due to the redundant offer system DePop sets up for their buyers..Version: 2.308

SellingI was selling on this app to add to my other platforms that I sell on (Poshmark/mercari/curtsy/vinted/ebay) and was really enjoying it. I listed a “Home” item - Hamilton Beach knife set (new) after seeing that OTHERS (at least 20 people) had other knife sets, Steak knives etc listed so it was “an item that people list” as a home item. Fast forward..10 min after it is listed I received 1 email that it has been removed. Next email my account has been ROMOVED!!! Why? I have listed a weapon. Fast forward again..I have the option to appeal. I apologize and explain the circumstances and “Angie” sends me an email back to send any sales I have made (which I have) to send them and she is sorry I violated the rules and my account will not be reinstated. I am truly in disbelief. I went back again with pictures of others with the same items etc. and explanation they just want to remove my account for the exact same items others have listed. So with all the time of listing items and selling on this app. I enjoyed engaging with other people but be prepared after full time spent they will wipe this platform out right from under you. Be WARNED. I AM TRULY in a state of shock on how this was handled..Version: 2.338.1

Great app, consistently going downhill. As someone who has used depop for roughly 2 years, I have sold quite a few pieces. At one point last year I began drop shipping (I did not know this was against platform rules) I had to open a new account due to this, which I understand, its just them following policy, I am not mad about that. What I am mad about is the surprise I was met with when I found out that depop no longer allows sellers to use their own shipping! My only question is… WHY. There is literally no advantage to not allowing sellers to use their own shipping services. My rates beat yours and I would like to use them! UPS comes to my office daily and I do not need yo be taking unnecessary trips to the post office. Another change I have found is the magic link replacement for passcode. This would be no issue if passcode was just still available… But yet again, depop has gone to the extreme and removed passwords nearly all together. I didn’t have my email on my laptop meaning it took me 15+ minutes to sign into depop. Your changes are unneccary and stupid. please stop. Also, I would like to be able to use my own shipping again… I am going to do it anyways so at least let me mark my buyers items shipped and give them tracking. I now have to spend 5+ minutes per order manually refunding my shipping labels and getting my payout. Do better..Version: 2.333

App is ok, support needs work heavilyI’ve never had much of a problem with the Depop app itself, I like the selling and buying process relatively enough to keep using it, I find every fee on apps like this ridiculous, but if I can sell my item I’m not too mad about it. The main two things I’d like to point out that needs work on improving is the Depop support itself, and the time it takes to pay out for an item. Starting with Depop support, especially using my recent experience as an example, I have messaged Depop support for 9 days about a problem I made on my end an a request to fix it (accidently submitted wrong bank info) and when I did such it takes 14 days to fix it, but Depop has yet to communicate back to me after I gave all the information they requested and hasn’t even replied back to me. Now I usaully wouldn’t find it an issue but now I cannot get my money cashed out to me, and the fact it’s been over a week with no resolution. It’s unprofessional and frustrating. Along with this, even if my bank account was properly connected, sometimes the payments delay themselves, taking more time to become accessible into your account, and the process for tracking how much money you make in a year or in general is confusing, as it shows transactions as it shows the sales you make as added money and the transaction as a subtraction, so when you look in your past sales and history it is just a bunch of confusing numbers that don’t show a whole spreadsheet or graph of useful information. I just think they need more management on those things, maybe a number to call for issues to be fixed quick, and maybe some sort of easier process to gain money..Version: 2.283

Amazing, forward thinking, caring, also slowDepop is an amazing company behind I a huge vintage clothing boom. I really don’t have many Criticisms for this app other than the UI can be a bit buggy and their are a large amount of spam accounts (but they are doing a good job at lowering the amount of spam accounts over the years) if you decide to become a seller be prepared for a fairly easy and quick process before you make your sale. Depop is also active and has fixed a previous bug after I mentioned it here on the App Store reviews * I have to edit my review for this app again as I’m still having problems with clickable hashtags on mobile. Some listings are a little bit better than others but with the iPhone 12 Pro Max I can’t get to hashtag listings unless I slam and spam the hashtag, this is specifically for my listings as a seller account… as a seller when you go to click on hashtags that are your own they do not register.. PLEASE FIX * offers from buyers as a seller on this app are pretty terrible in the aspect they let buyers send you offers for items without securing their payment before offer, this ends in a lot of frustration as you take time to contemplate the offer and maybe finally accept, then you wait 24 hours to have that buyer not follow through… please take a note out of Mercari offer system, much better..Version: 2.215

Mobile app is great- desktop is bafflingly glitchyI use my laptop extensively on a daily basis, and today I tried to use Depop there (for convenience and better visuals); and I had one baffling technical problem after another. From my (correct) password not being accepted resulting in my getting locked out of my account, to not being able to upload a profile pic (no option), to the pay screen not registering my name/address info (as though I hadn’t filled out all required fields; I had) to finally alerting me that a seller in the US could not ship to my country (I’m also in the US). To Depop’s credit, their customer service was relatively quick to jump in (via email) and help troubleshoot with a very human presence and clear directions. However, most of their suggestions were already tried, or weren’t applicable. After feeling fed up and stepping away from the madness, I found that uploading a pic on the mobile app was simple and intuitive, and filling out my info to pay proved to be no trouble at all. Tl;dr- there is no rhyme or reason for the load of trouble you may encounter using Depop on a desktop; understand that it is intended primarily for mobile use and use it there if at all possible..Version: 2.266

WarningApp is great, just warning other users out there. i just got scammed for $160 by a girl who said she would sell me 3 brandy melville items. i should have seen the signs because she said she couldn’t send me pics of the items bc they were already in their packages. she wanted me to pay her through paypal and not depop, which i did and since then she has deleted her account meaning she has no intentions of sending me the items i paid $160 for. it’s a great app, so many nice people just watch out for scammers i dont want anyone else to have this happen to them 🥺.Version: 2.91

Canadian ShippingThe app is easy to use and I don’t mind mind it, but I wish we had the same features as the US in regards to shipping and having the option to choose the Depop shipping label like Poshmark because in Canada, we have to pay for the shipping cost which is way too much and it’s very inconvenient..Version: 2.346

Depop appOk i’ve been using this app lately for a little side hustle and it is amazing. super fast and easy process for shipping out the items and posting them. only inconvenience is how much they take out on your sale. for example, if you sell something at 100$ they take 23$ + the taxes wich is almost 1/4 plus, you have to pay shipping with the remaining money, wich is why I give it 3 stars..Version: 2.290
