I’m in LoveI absolutely love this game. It’s exactly what I was looking for in a medieval sim and to all the people complaining about the difficulty...just do the tutorials. I like the difficulty because I’m sick of these simple tap and collect micro transaction cash grabs that act like complex simulators. This game does have micro transactions but I don’t really find them too annoying, though I wish they didn’t exist tbh. Please keep adding to the complexity of this game because I’m absolutely hooked and would love to see this continue to evolve with more and more production chains and types of resources to produce..Sav SharkVersion: 1.13

Almost perfect!This game reminds me a lot of Heritage of the Kings where you have to wisely manage your city and resources, and I love that about this. I am also a developer, and I truly appreciate the time and effort that went into this. However, I don't appreciate the following things: - I paid for the ad-free version of this game, yet it always boots with an ad. - There's a bug in the election campaign where you're supposed to build marketplace stands, yet no matter which type and how many you build, the quest counter stays at zero. You cannot complete this quest. Frustrating, to say the least. [EDIT: This is not a bug, you have to hit the arrows until you see the flashing stall in order for it to count toward the quest. Fun!I downloaded this when I was laid up in the hospital and it definitely kept me entertained. It’s a lot of fun! My one wish would be that there was a blank slate option without any previous buildings other than the main castle. I really enjoy designing the layout of the towns but don’t even bother with the ones that have a lot of buildings already. I also wish their were more big or huge layouts that weren’t stuck in permanent winter. The permanent winters I don’t bother with. Also, the timed challenges (ex: 5 minutes to produce x amount of x) is pointless and impossible unless you’re already a well established town. Premium isn’t idealFun strategy game, great time sink, but many of the scenarios require you to have a significant stock of quest reward currency to succeed. This reward currency can also be bought of course, as well as the ability to fast forward indefinitely, improper use of either without purchasing something results in certain scenarios becoming either automatic fails or endless slogs made worse by somewhat repetitive music. Like I said at the beginning, I still enjoy this game, helps scratch that Anno/Banished/Factorio itch I have when I’m not at home. Great ClassicI remember when you all first started, this game has gone a long way. Then, I saw the Netflix Version. I kinda wish you all would update this app just to include more of the stats (building production) and maybe just extra characters. Other than that, I find myself coming back. The Word Premium Could Be BetterOk it’s the paid version. No ads that’s awesome. But I feel there should be way more decorations than what there is now. Another thing the prestige is out of control. You don’t gain coin fast enough from taxes without spending the coin you don’t have. I watched the ad videos that give you 10 prestige each time but after my 5th time it just sits there with a loading circle allowing me not to view ads for prestige no longer. I love this game. I really do.This game has kept me entertained for several years. I love the relative simplicity of it combined with the intricacies of certain aspect. It’s okThe food availability seems a bit arbitrary. One minute you have 10 Townspeople and 100% food stock, and the next minute it drops to 30%, even though there are no new villagers to be eating more food. Also it crashes a lot. It’s especially annoying if you are in the middle of a rapid build when it crashes. The game won’t save the finished built structure on your map, but it will remember how much you spent on Prestige to rapid build it and that amount will be gone. Entirely addictiveI love the color pallet, the music and sound effects. They way townies talk is perfect. The art style is joyful without being silly. And all this is icing on the cake of a fabulous game mechanic. I can't wait for more new scenarios! Update: Yea! Lots of new goodies! Now there are bandits & militia, a new building interface, Trade Guild building, new scenarios, and my townies are even smarter than they used to be. Some good some disappointing thingsMy first thought before purchasing this was the premium edition is hardly a deal. You can remove adds for .99 from the free version and add 250 prestige points for 1.99. Those were the only features touted as making the premium edition better so I have trouble understanding why the premium version is 3.99. I bought the premium edition anyway to support the developer because there is a dearth of games of this ilk in the App Store and I would like to see more. However, my desire to support the developer not withstanding, I could see people passing on the game because of this pricing issue. I sincerely hope it was a mistake on the developers part and not intentional. I enjoy the game. the mechanics are pretty solid, and I appreciate the addition of sandbox modes. I think the game is easily worth the price I paid. I despise freemium content and refuse to support developers that make spending hard currency a necessity to progress. Thankfully, that is not the case with this game. My major gripe and the reason this game is only receiving three stars, is my inability to listen to my own music while I play. This is an irritation in a dollar game: it's inexcusable in a $4 game. If developers putting out free games can include this capability, game developer putting out a premium game look lazy when they do not. Great Game!This is a great game! It's a little difficult getting started--the tutorial helps but doesn't explain all the production chains (e.g. what you need to build in order to get the products completed). Once I got the hang of it though it was easy for me to spend hours at a time playing it. The only issues I have are: 1. When I want to remove bushes and walls it sometimes doesn't let me select all the pieces. 2. If I build something before it becomes part of a quest, if seems like I should get credit for it. Update Spoils GameI loved playing Townsmen and even upgraded to the premium, but the latest update has me irritated. It takes a lot longer to build and costs to build have gone up. Plus, now you have to "upgrade" buildings just to get them as efficient as they were before the update. The worst part, aside from the constant pop-ups that now try to sell me more upgrades ( I thought I bought the premium game to stop this) , I lost all of my saved games because they wouldn't play with the update installed and I used up most of my saved prestige just trying to get through the tutorial in under 2 hours. I understand the logic behind the update, but wouldn't it have been better as an "advanced" add-on? I want my old Townsmen game back. So, OK. I gave it a chance and the new version, though more difficult, is playable. Once you get past the changes, they actually make sense. The trick is to keep going back to the first scenario and get the rewards. Especially the 10,000 Thaler donation; it gets you 100 prestige just like that. Then you can use that prestige to help you through the continuing scenarios. I will stick to my initial statement, though. I absolutely love this game!However, your constant pestering is annoying AF. I totally support developers earning pay for their work (I’m a game dev myself), and I’m happy to give you my money for this great game. BUT when I pay to download something ad-free, I expect a hassle-free gameplay experience. I bought unlimited speed-up too, because it’s a feature I wanted, and I don’t mind the price. BUT I don’t want double XP, and I really do NOT want you to beg me to buy it every two freaking minutes. Take NO for an answer, please. Same with asking for reviews. Take no for an answer and don’t constantly harass your paying customers by not giving them a ‘never’ option. I want to play the game without interruption. And why show ads when opening the game first thing when you sold me an ad-free game? You took my money and didn’t deliver your promise. It doesn’t make it ok just because your advertising your own games. This game is great enough to make plenty of money on its own merits, without you tarnishing it was cheesy used car-salesman tactics. ShamelessWell here is another great example of a game that will do nothing but pester you for more of your money. Opening the application, it brings up a list of other games to sink money into. Throughout the game it points out how long things take to build, and how much faster it would be if you would be willing to pay another $6 for infinite fast forward. Do you find you exp is going up too slow as well? Pay more money for double exp! This is lazy game developing. There was no attempt at anything new; there are other games that do this style of gaming with more finesse, where you can at least close the app and come back to seeing your buildings completed; not this game. If you're not willing to pay for more "prestige", you've got to let every painful second of building be built. Funnnn. Good game, but...I have to agree with the other posters that the most recent update made the game A LOT harder. I too, am finding it a constant struggle to keep my people happy and buildings repaired. I get its a "freemium" and they have to encourage players to keep buying in app purchases even after they have bought the game, but the changes will reduce the fun factor of the game and drive away your business. Otherwise, I like the addition of seasons and the foresters hut. Possible updates could be stables to provide better horses to the jousting arena to increase its entertainment ability.
