GREAT AS A STARTING PLACE FOR DAILY DEVOTIONSI was looking for an app that is available on the fly as a starting place for daily devotions that would incorporate elements of Scripture and prayer. In a simple and basic way, this app does that. Using readings from the daily lectionary and prayers from the PCUSA Book of Common Worship, it gives different selections for morning, mid-day and evening devotions. It is not technologically slick (offering a choice if Bible translations would be nice) but it does the job. In my typical devotions without the app, I tend to follow a biblical book with a few paragraphs each day followed by my personal prayer notes. This opens the world for me with the variety of selections, some of which have led me to sermons or things to share with others. I have not tried the Company of Pastors add on, as I don't have time to explore that. I have an iPhone 6 and have had no problems in operation..MesjlhVersion: 2.1

Single Focus Well ExecutedThis app does one thing and it does it wonderfully. If you are looking for a resource to help develop your practice of daily prayer, then look no further! With prayers pulled from the Book of Common Worship and scripture from the NRSV, this will serve those new to daily prayer and those with a lifetime of experience equally well. The ability to customize your personal experience (how many readings, version of The Lord's Prayer, etc) along with the fluidity of the prayer service make this an ideal companion for individual or group prayer; especially for those who travel often or don't want to carry both a prayer book and a bible with them all the time. Especially considering the cost of the Book of Common Worship ($30 currently), this is an excellent value that will enrich your devotional journey! An aside to those wishing for music for the psalms: With the numerous settings of each psalm (not to mention copyright issues) it would be very difficult to include music. I will recommend an excellent (and affordable) resource: Psalms for all Seasons, edited by Martin Tel, which includes full text plus multiple settings for all 150 psalms. Chant tones are included as well as responsive readings. We use this Psalter at my seminary and it is a beautiful resource for both corporate and private worship and devotion. Wonderful!Wonderful to have this daily devotional with Scripture and prayers every day. It provides the daily prayers from the Book of Common Worship for morning and evening each week along with the Scripture readings from the Daily Lectionary including morning and evening psalms. Prayer at the Close of the DayWith a dozen or more brothers in Christ, I've been blessed to sing Compline (Prayer at the Close of the Day) on Sundays for 15 years. By following the Evening Prayer segment of this app, I'm now easily able to "fill-in" the intervening days of the week, with the correct Lectionary readings for Compline. Excellent prayer resource for ChristiansThis app walks the user through a daily prayer office with the Presbyterian book of Common Worship. Scripture readings, and psalm readings, and responsive prayers are provided, which vary based on the time of day one is praying. Really Needs an update!!Very basic and not especially appealing UI. Fabulous idea, but...Loved the idea of this app, but it has never worked on my phone. Uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. First time I click the app, I get the splash page, and then it closes. Second time I can get into the app, but only a blank page. Can change the date, the prayer (am/pm), and can view the help, but the prayer & scripture content never loads.
