Yandex Translate Customer Service

Great app, love the interface and the examples it gives for words you translate. I'd say this app is a better translator for Russian rather than google translate. Also love that they added languages within Russia such as Udmurt, Yakutian, Bashkir, Chuvash, Mari, and Hill Mari. It's great that they added these languages but the translation for them are a bit weird so I hope that gets fixed, same thing with Punjabi, some words and sentences don't sound right. An example for Punjabi is if you try to translate "I am a man" it translates to "ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ am" which literally means "To me one man am". I understand if they're having problems with some of these lesser known languages it makes sense because there's probably not enough material in these types of languages for the ai or whatever to learn. I hope they get fixed in the future :). And I have one question for the developers if they read this, do you know any languages that are in development that will be added to the app? Anyways, great app and get it if you want to translate Russian.

One thing that makes this application, very usable, and there for the best is that the keyboard layout changes when you change the language. I switch between Russian and English all the time, and I don’t have to go and change the keyboard layout also. My request or desire is that if I want to use the informal that the translation would allow for it. The auto correct always changes it to the formal version. Additionally, I am a man, and I need to refer to myself in the correct, gender, and always the examples are rendered in the female gender. There should be a setting that allows me to choose my gender so that it gives answers for a male.

I use this translator every day, living in a Russian speaking country with my intermediate Russian skills. I don’t know what I would do without it, and I always recommend it to Russian speaking English learners when I see them using Google translate. There are some things I’m dissatisfied with— you can’t control whether a translation in Russian is in the formal or not. For example if you type a sentence with the word “you”, you don’t know if the “you” will translate to “вы” or “ты”. It would be very convenient if I somehow had the option to indicate if I want the translation to be formal or informal. Another thing that would be very convenient is if I could indicate gender. For example, if I’m translating the sentence “I did this”, I want to be able to specify the gender so that it will translate to “Я это делала” and not the automatic “Я это делал”.

I wrote a review nine years ago and I want to write an updated version. So, my second language is Russian and my third one is Spanish and I love how this app gives specific examples of words that it translates for you. This is excellent for lingophiles and polyglots such as myself because it gives the nuances behind the words so you’re not just blindly using a translation. It has also served as an excellent tool for self teaching and it has greatly contributed to my knowledge of Russian and Spanish now. Not even Google translate is this good. So, if you need a translator (at least for Russian and Spanish), Yandex is the way to go!

Learning languages was truly tough until I started utilizing a combination of this and a tiny speck of chat GPT to answer all of the boldest questions. Took me from a rut after 4 months of learning Spanish feeling like groundhog day to me confidently switching my phone apps and the phone itself to various Romantic languages because I am really getting the hang of this stuff now, and this app is no small part. Until the next generation of apps, where perhapps, you can have two versions of the same app but different settings for each so that you can practice your target fluency language (like Spanish, I want to know it at a scholarly and street level) and my next language of interest (which for me includes Russian, Arabic, Greek, and even Hindi when I get around to it). Til then, you can make tons of progress by just scrolling down on this app, and will turn headaches to eurekas, all day long.

Please add voice pronunciation to the list of words in a collection. It would be easier to learn new words, without going to each one to listen to how it is pronounced. Also please fix the bag with a web version, when I add a word to a collection it saves this as a “default collection”, when I want to add another word to another collection I push “change collection ” and choose another one, but the word is also saved to the “default collection ”, so I always have the same word in 2 collections, and every time I need to remove it from one of them. Thank you

The app is amazing I could use it for hours just for fun. One thing that would be nice is if you made a app kinda like google board or Gboard so you don’t have to keep going back and fourth to type or figure out what something means and you just copy and paste it into the thing. It would be nice to have. But overall I compared it to google translate and google translate sometimes calls pizza a burrito for some reason then other times it works correctly and says pizza. This tho is amazing translater I don’t know how I never saw this because how accurate it is

The more I explore the app, the more I’m starting to like it. It has a lot of potential. Great app. I found out that you have a button where “you can report an error”. I see it more of a button to offer a suggestion. I think it is very good to have such a button. I have been writing suggestions using that button. Do you actually use those suggestions? Or does your program use them to improve? I’m sorry for asking, but just wanted to know if those suggestions and effort actually help or have an impact. Hope to hear from you.

Yandex offers more information for translations than Google Translate, and the translations feel like they are more accurate. As a polyglot I use both yandex translate and google for different languages, but when it comes to Russian yandex is the most reliable, both for the literal entries and the sound clips. The UI is ergonomic, allowing you to quickly clear the screen and enter another word for translation or swipe to previous queries. If you’re a student of Russian, Yandex is a must.

Others would far more often have something nonsensical, awkward or incoherent in the translated text. This was never more true than when Russian was translated. The new (?) ability to live-translate a page of text and then save the text for editing is stunning. I know of no other iOS app that can do this. The page can be less than flattened out to scan and 100% accuracy can occur. Wow, simply the best.

I’m always using this app for mainly 3 languages: Korean, Chinese and Japanese. The Chinese one is the most accurate and I’m super glad. Korean and Japanese, is a bit more iffy but it’s there. The only thing I would like added is that it can be able to detect traditional writing style for Chinese and Japanese. I would love to know what someone is saying, for example in a comic they use that style. But everything else works fine. I have already recommended this translator to a bit more of my friends since it’s really good.

Moving to Yandex after reaching out the limit of saved words in the mobile version of Google translator. Another annoying thing with Google translate was lack of synchronization between web and mobile versions. Although, there is always room for improvements! Personally, I’d appreciate adding verb conjugation, especially for exceptions.

Compared to any other photo translators, this one so far is the only other free one I found. I’m very happy that for how well the app works while not even needing to pay a single penny. I did end up making an account as well just to be organized and to show some support. I hope this review and I hope the developers get some more support and do well on the app

It’s a really great app especially since it’s free it can handle huge sentences to translate you can copy and paste it to a someone your texting I hope they update the Spanish translation Voice it doesn’t sound native and is hard to understand in real speed and the slow translation but it’s my go to translate app

The camera translation for what you’re looking at is amazing. I have this on my iPhone and now my iPhone watch. I only wish we could choose the volume for the voice that reads the translation and that we could SLOW DOWN the voice when it is reading out loud the translation.. my only two complaints. But besides that this is definitely a new favorite

It’s better then google translate and other translation apps because it doesn’t cost money to translate pictures and I think that’s what makes it better then google translate. It also has every language (I think) and everything is great. I don’t usually write reviews but this was honestly worthy.

This is the translator use and trust the most. I love all the different options. I love how you can change colour themes and the options like dialogue, speech, and Picture. It has also helped me a bit with learning languages. I do wish it would add a way to register without phone number (without google account). Great app, seems like the team is nice too and engages with reviewers. Cheers.

I gave up Google translate for Yandex Translate & I do not regret doing so. Yandex translate is much more accurate, & faster than Google translate, & Yandex doesn’t spy on you like Google does. Yandex respects privacy while Google does not, I highly recommend this app for those wanting to learn more than 1 language & is perfect for polyglots.

MUCH better than the IOS translate app that’s automatically installed on iPhones. What you translates gets saved so you can go back and look at it, and it also has a camera/photo translation option. There are also words/phrases of the day.

Now there is even less room to see what I want to translate. There is no way to turn off those icons for mikes and cameras that you added above the translate line. And I already felt limited in the original text area. Meanwhile you have this huge white space below the translate line that never gets used. I do not understand why you design the space to enter the words to translate in such a small (and now cluttered with icons) area. ***While your translator is good, it is not perfect. I need to see the original text so I can understand or adjust the translation to be more accurate.*** If you want to clutter up the original text area, can you at least make that area double the size?

The app is nice, but it lacks text recognition to display the corresponding translation. For example, if I have an image and need to translate the text, when I add it, the translation happens without specifying the text language. Automatic text language recognition must be added, and then the text should be translated according to the language selected in the list.

This is a fantastic APP. Russian/English translations have greatly improved over the years, and now I use it wherever I need a little help. It also includes sample sentences unitizing the words. Not only a practical translation App, also a useful learning tool.

I’ve tried a few of these translator apps, and I have to say this app is by far the best. It is so on point just have to say the creators really did their homework. Thanks for making my life easier.

Yandex is better at translating certain idiomatic or set Russian phrases then Google Translate gets entirely wrong. Often, the translations need to be edited into natural speech and they often fail to make the distinction between literal and idiomatic phraseology. This is the same for all translation apps. For Russian I prefer it over Google translate.

One of the best around. My single complaint is that I can’t change the voice. Sometimes it’s difficult to hear pronunciation and I think having different voices with varying annunciations could really help. Edit: worth noting I’m an iOS user

The lack of stress markers for words makes learning how to correctly pronounce certain words much harder in free stress languages like Russian. Adding them It would be a small yet very useful addition, especially if one can’t listen to the in app pronunciation. Great app otherwise!

This app has helped me build a beautiful connection with my birth family in Russia. Aiding between the language barrier it’s nice to video chat with them and use this app to communicate in an accurate format. Thank you.

There are functions in this app that are better than Google Translate in my opinion. The voice recognition is very effective and the photo translate is much more effective than Google’s version.

In learning Italian, I have been using a few translation app for assistance. This app has been most useful, user friendly and I love the off line mode. Thanks and kudos to the developers!

This app is probably my favorite than any other translator. Though, I am not fit with how when you translate English to Georgian, the text to speech is not available. This is a great app, but that’s all I wanted to say.

The UI is amazing and the definitions that go along with the pronunciations of the words is a lifesaver for someone trying to learn a new language - 10/10 Would Recommend!!!

Google translate is very good too, but in my opinion Yandex translator has a slight edge. I enjoyed the fact that they maintained compatibility with my first model iPad long after Apple and Google dropped support. Super product Yandex development team!

This is easily better than Google translate on its latest update. Less errors, more details, suggestions and overall better in everything really.

I wish it could function as an online translation, So that I can be done working with recording when that study in the lecture hall with foreign languages

I have been trying to learn French for a while, and downloading this app helped me greatly. Much better than google translate, and provides instant speech to text translations. 10/10!

Great app, used it in France and was able to communicate with French family that where staying at our home. I would text and then send via WhatsApp. worked great

I had trouble downloading the offline dictionary at first but turning off low power mode and leaving the app running in the foreground fixed it

I use it specifically for Russian. It doesn’t just translate but also has lists of helpful phrases/colloquialisms for learning the language.

This is better than google translate. Offers different better translations and will pronounce words for you. When read back. Pauses at correct intervals. Great for English-French

This App is great except when selecting a word or a sentence on an image, in my case selecting a Chinese text and expecting that to be translated into English, as that is my main language. Yet, it goes automatically from Chinese to Russian and I need to change that manually to English. And that happens every single time. Please Fix that and you will get a 5 star for sure. As per your response by email, I did try your support line, and eventually got an agent, who just told me to switch that into English. Dah, that’s the only option I currently have, to switch it from Russian to English, while it is supposed to be English in the first place, but it always goes back to Russian. Please send me an email to which I could reply with images, in case you guys still don’t understand that issue. Once it is fixed, I will delete that review.

Good for learning words and communicating. But there is a missing language. Could you add Pashto to the translations?

This app provides a ton of definitions and synonyms, as well as examples of use and related words. It even has an extensive declensions and conjugations section, which helps me A LOT with my french studies. Each tense has a little timeline and usage snippet!!! I can also make very accurate translations through photos. Absolutely irreplaceable.

So easy to use and I love the live image translation feature.

This is my favourite translating app. I use it daily for my Russian Lessons and it’s incredibly helpful and easy to use. Very strongly recommend.

This app saved my grades and helped a lot in my Spanish classes especially for exams. It also helps if you’ve yet to master the verbs. I really recommend it if you’re trying to learn a language.

The app is great! Translations are accurate, the only problem is you cant see the pronunciations of the language your trying to translate too. For example, lets say I want to translate English to Japanese, and the word im translating is “camera”. Now if I put in the translator it will tell me the word but not written text on how to pronounce it. Yes I know you are allowed to hear the word but if it had written text on how to say it, that would make it much easier for people trying to learn a language with the help of this translator

The app is free and it’s offline and most importantly... NO FREE TRIAL!! You can translate pictures and don’t need a free trial! I highly recommend it!!!😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄 But I suggest the developer adds Ukrainian to English for the offline files.

This app is a great translator and very useful, however since the last update it seems to be taking a really long time to load the translations (Russian-English or English-Russian)

Previously, before I updated the application, it was so that when I selected a photo translation, I could turn the phone into a horizontal position with the translated photo and the photo with the translation also turned over, but now there is no such thing when I turn the phone over, nothing happens, the photo does not turn over but remains in place, it is very inconvenient, that is, if you want, you don't want and vertical orientation only. This is a very big minus, please return this function back.

I’ve been trying to get something to translate for 20-25 minutes and during that time nothing translated, it’s annoying because there are so many reviews saying it a good app and easily translates, but that’s not the case, I’ve tried multiple times and different photos to translate but nothing is happening, I might be doing something wrong but I’m not a patient person and would like it to translate right away

Prior to this version the app made use of real estate very effectively. The usually translation space has been reduced by about 15-20%. Very inefficient. They have also cluttered it with a self-promoting banner that is irritating more than appealing. I don’t have a problem with a free app trying to encourage stickiness or products, but this even misses that opportunity.

I tried to do shortcuts with this using the “translate (text) to (language)” part. But when I type in a language like “Malay” it doesn’t allow it to run. It does this for all languages. Can you add a set list of options for us to choose from or like give us examples of inputs that would work?

Sometimes the translated words appears to be opposite of what was supposed to be translated. Which I sometimes find it annoying, but there’s room for improvement. Because I’m such a big fan of this app, it just that sometimes I have to write like 3 times before I can get exactly what I want to translate.

I would’ve given it 5 stars if it weren’t for the fact that when you translate websites it doesn’t translate images for example if there was foreign text on a image on a website it wouldn’t translate you could translate the images one by one but that would get really bothersome if your doing more then 5 images on a link I really hope they integrate a feature where if you translate a website it also translates the images. For example (manga and manwha)

Согласна с одним из отзывов. Обычный быстрый перевод и правда стал на порядок хуже. И ладно вы добавили AI, он и правда хорош, но ЗАЧЕМ ЭТОТ ЛИМИТ КОТОРЫЙ ДАЖЕ НЕЛЬЗЯ ОБОЙТИ. Я с Яндекс плюсом и то должна зачем-то ждать сутки, чтоб получить просто нормальный, хороший и логичный перевод, а не словесное месиво. Полный отстой 👎

Обычный переводчик был хорош, но как только добавили ограниченный по количеству запросов ИИ, то быстрый невозможно читать. Вообще не понятен набор слов

For years was a best translation app but starting from some version around half year ago it become very slow, please improve. Update: Getting worse “Ask about translation” banner in the middle of the screen is annoying.

Не работает из под VPN. Интернет есть. Это, конечно, стыд, что я могу вбить слово в Яндекс поисковик и он мне выдаст перевод, но специализированное Яндекс Переводчик приложение работать не хочет.
