It’ll scratch that itch, but the UI is miserableThe controls/UI are stunningly bad (looking at you road/rail placement tool) and there are some major quality of life issues such as the amount of effort it takes to replace your vehicle fleet, or the amount of menus you have to navigate to buy, place, and route vehicles, or how the see-through buildings/trees option still somehow manages to be difficult to see-through, or a hundred other issues that plague this port. Open Transport Tycoon on PC blows this version out of the water in comparison. That being said, if you need your mobile fix of TTD, this is it. It’s definitely that sweet transportation management/planning action that you so desperately crave. For all my complaints, I’ve logged an absurd number of hours since downloading it last week. It doesn’t seem like the developer is interested in doing anything other than making sure this app is up to date with the latest iOS, so don’t expect any fixes for the issues. More ideas for improvementThis game is great, I love it so much, I have too many saves. But at one point you just have too much money and too little space to do anything. That’s the main issue. Anyway the next review is from last year. Ok so updated, because I saw a good point in another review, iPad is a good format to play on, but the boats feature is terrible. You have to manually route them in order to get them to work and, not many people use the boats. Also, what you’re about to read is something I wrote years ago. Hey could you add maybe crashes? Like vehicles can crash? Can you also add highways? Like highways that get auto built by the game? Also add cars! Please that would be awesome because there aren't just lots of trucks and buses and trams in a city is there? Also last but not least...BIG RIGS! Almost brilliantRailroad tycoon 2 is one of my favorite games ever. This is basically the same game with some added stuff like buses, boats, and planes. However, the interface on the iphone is extremely frustrating. Removing any mistakenly laid track is a nightmare. Plus the whole boat aspect is pretty messed up. Please update so that the demolish/bulldozer can remove track. Why do we even have the bulldozer if all it can remove is trees? Might as well have just given us a chainsaw! Also make it so boats can refuse certain items, so they don't get caught running all over the map rejecting large shipments just because they're carrying four units of food! Improvements that Should be includedI have been a avid player of this game for years and I have one suggestion that should be considered is the feature from Chris Sawyer’s Locomotion; the availability to make custom scenarios! To be honest about this my mostly expanded map capabilities in the Boulder Bay challenge by expanding the island’s size but when certain goods and food services aren’t available to fully accommodate the three main cities, because of the lack of food industries that should be available to accommodate for higher percentages, my point is that I don’t looking at low numbers for satisfaction. Please at least offer some variations of the Boulder Island challenge with other industries, I have made my own custom scenarios in Locomotion but wishing if there was some ability to share the custom scenarios directly to the mobile app. If that’s possible I would be very inclined to give a five-star rating if this team could accommodate for such needs..LargokapiVersion: 1.3.4

Fun, Addicting & Time ConsumingThis is one of the best mobile transport sim-like games I’ve ever played. Though there are still some downsides, like not being able to delete a save; I can’t remove roads if they’re claimed by a town, even if I put the road there in the first place; not being able to delete roads of a competitor if they go bankrupt; the fact that I can’t build tracks across tracks built by a competitor; and probably the most annoying one, only having 1 bridge type that can go up and down. Omg.. This game is from the 90’s and still better than any train game to date...Funny how I was playing this same game on the turn of 2000. Very goodThis app is one of the most enjoyable ones available. It will occupy you for many hours with its various challenges and campaigns. The strategy that comes with starting a new transportation company is very lifelike and well designed, as are the vehicles, trees and buildings. I like how the architecture progresses and cities grow, and how vehicles become available to you depending on what in-game year it is. Very fun, but one small issue.I love this game. It’s not just a poor quality adaptation, and it doesn’t beg you for money to unlock any features. However, there is no way to make your own scenario. This game was released in 2013, and the website still says that options other than just the preset scenarios would be possible in later updates. Great game but needs updatesI love Transport Tycoon, and have been playing the iOS version for years. Unfortunately it hasn’t been updated for 3 years now and some odd bugs are popping up. E.g sound/music effects controls (on/off, volume) don’t work at all on iOS 13.5, and the app doesn’t support ‘full screen’ on my iPhone 11 (there are black bars on the sides). Disappointed.- the iPad version is an upscaled version of the iPhone one, without any tweaks. - the graphics are in low res (pixelated) while the HUD and the UI is in high res. It's maybe the artistic direction, trying to keep the old school feel to the game... but IMO, it doesn't work. - the user interface is confusing, especially on the ipad where the space occupied by the UI is massive; you keep clicking left and right to do your selection. - At first sight it seems that they have removed the concept of Garage for the vehicules, which add a new step to the deployment of vehicules ("click to deploy here"). - There's no easy to access Settings menu from the game. - The Game Center window keeps popping up if I'm not logged. Good but could have been greatI was a huge fan of the original back in the 90's. The graphics were awesome and the interface was killer at the time. Playing this version on the ipad is frustrating because it is so very close to recreating the original but still falls short. Although many have complained about the pixelated graphics, and I do agree, I think the UI is the biggest problem. I don't recall having such a terrible time terraforming in the original. In fact one my my fondest memories of the game was building train routes through mountainous terrain. In this version it is the aspect I dread the most. Now that I think about it, if they could have just iterated more on that one use case I think they could have a winner. Building rails and roads was so much fun. With this version I try to avoid it if I can. That's the biggest issue. Still a good game though and the new music is really fun. Also enjoyed the lack of depots. The game I've been looking forYears ago, I played roller coaster tycoon and knew there wasn't another game out there like it. I remembered RC tycoon a few weeks ago and decided to look it up on the App Store. Look what I found! I feel like deleting all my apps except for this one because there is NO comparison to any other game I have seen so far. At the moment, I have $970,500,000 in the year 2005 and I get over $2,000 a second! This is one of the only GAMES that make me feel rich when i have lots of money. Five stars FOR SURE! There are days, months, years, SEASONS, the trees ACTUALLY grow over time, this is a game that has a lot of effort put in to it. The trams, boats, planes, trains, trucks and buses are really well made, too! I currently have a fleet of 747's and Concords... How much better could it get? That's a challenge, by the way. Great tycoon experienceTT on the iPad gives a retro gaming feel - graphics and some of the interface - but also takes me back to complex intricate "tycoon" sims which take a bit of learning to figure out. I'm still learning, but find the process rewarding (if occasionally frustrating - oops, I suppose that industry didn't need coal). There's an economy, there's a range of rolling (and flying and shipping) stock and there's a mix of real-world and fantasy scenarios. And there are still many I've not tried. So...
