Unable to use external monitorUpdate 6/23 - the new updates have fixed a lot of the issues I was having. The resolution is now awesome, the moment I load in. Buttons work, clicking works. I am not seeing any major issues there. However, there is still one issue that is rather quirky/annoying. I am on a MacBook Pro using a LG 49” ultra-wide, curved monitor as my external monitor. My external sites to the left of my computer and is connected via USB-C and set as an extended display. My computer and the game are fully up-to-date. When I use the right click of the mouse to move the map around it works great until I let go of the mouse button. The moment I release the right mouse button my cursor jumps back to the main monitor in approximately the same position as it was in on the right side of my external display. This happens only if I am on the right hand side of my LG display. If my cursor is on the left half of my display, it then my cursor jumps to the right half in the same position it was in on the left. So it seems that the cursor is jumping one standard display width to the right each time I release the right-button on the mouse after moving the map. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Original Post: When I open the game on an external monitor, the buttons highlight but do not show that anything is being clicked. If I move the game to the built in MacBookPro monitor, then all works just fine. If I start a new game and move the map back to the external monitor (which sits to the left of my MacBook Pro), the game things my mouse is off the left edge and keeps moving the map left repeatedly. Great Game but I need helpI can’t figure out how to make mountains / depressions for water like the old game. I can only figure out how to modify large areas of land in square shapes. The PC game allowed you to modify large amounts of land in irregular shapes to make hills/mountains. With this game I con only figure out how to make it look natural by editing every single block of land, corner by corner. In the landscaping editor if you shrink it down all the way it shows the mountain/depression area but as soon as you try to select it then it goes right back to a full square or single corner..CLG3944Version: 1.0.435

Pretty good!Hi! I think this is a pretty good app, but one, two, maybe three SO a lot of things I want to be noted. 1) people. Some people are complaining about being dizzy after going on a ride. I don’t know how to help them other than put benches around. 2) Workers. People complain about vandalism and cleanliness. I have like 11 security guards/handymen and yet people still complain. Another thing in this category are mechanics. My rides are always breaking down which doesn’t bother me much but I get ticked when the rides are being fixed even though I have 15 mechanics! 3) Maps. I like this app but I feel that I want more maps. I see that there are a lot that are locked so I thought “maybe I can unlock these” but how do I unlock them? 4) water rides. I really like them and want to put more in my parks but there isn’t water. I know that you can build water, but what if I want to make it the same height as the other water? Shift + U to make UI BiggerThe text, menus, and icons are VERY SMALL on MacBook. Everything except for the park itself and the rides is microscopic. Even the original RCT from 1999 had resolution options, at least give us that for the UI. Please!!! EDIT: After seeing other reviewers mention the UI upscaling with Shift+U, I’m having a much better time! Updating my review from 2 to 4 stars because the UI can still be drastically improved with a few small changes like: 1. Right now the build tool buttons are at the bottom of the screen, but when you click them the windows appear at the TOP of the screen. This creates A LOT of up and down mouse movement, over and over and over again. This is ESPECIALLY a pain on a laptop trackpad, which is a shame because this is such a great game to play on-the-go). 2. This is a mobile port, so I understand why the UI is so minimal, but the original game (as you all know) had LOTS of extra options at the top of the screen for things like underground view, hide scenery, hide supports, etc. Now all that stuff is hidden behind keyboard shortcuts. Nostalgia for daysI grew up playing the RCT games on PC and absolutely loved them, and this hits all the right buttons for people who loved those games. I tried playing some modern remakes but found them to be basic and dumbed down, this still has all of the strategy and creativity that the original games had, and is deeply satisfying to play! That said, it's a bit clunky as far as the controls go for certain things. I would love an undo button! I accidentally deleted a monorail I spent ages on with no way to get it back, that was sad. And dragging the paths to lengthen them would be great, one tile at a time can be a bit tedious. Great Game but Issue with iCloud SyncReally loving this game, almost addicting but not upset about it. The one issue I’m having relates to iCloud Sync between my devices. I go back and forth playing on my iPad and my Mac computer - after I complete a park scenario on my Mac, it shows as complete on my Mac (check mark+new scenario and/or group unlocked). However when I switch over to my iPad, the game does not give me credit for the scenario i completed on my Mac (specifically the check mark+new scenario and/or group unlocked). I can load the park and continue playing from where I left off (it even shows as complete when I check the park scenario objectives/trophy icon), however it does not give me the check mark on my iPad, nor can I play the new park scenario that was unlocked on my Mac. Tried a bunch of troubleshooting but no luck. Saving/loading parks works fine. Everything I loved about the original games is here. I didn’t realize how much I missed it until I started playing again. Shift + U to Make Interface Usable on macOSFor those struggling with the tiny interface on macOS with retina displays, use the Shift + U to make the interface larger. I had to go all the way it would go, but this made it usable on my 14” MacBook Pro. If you need to make the interface smaller for any reason, use control + U. I really wish it were an option in the game interface, but at least there is a workaround. The gameplay so far is what I remember playing the original RollerCoaster Tycoon as a child. Nostalgia!Loved the game, true throwback! Grew up playing this game and fell in love with Simulation/Tycoon games because of RCT. For this version, I agree with other reviewers; Missing Tutorial, Money doesn’t work because loans cap out and you don’t know how much you can take, don’t show how much is repaid. Second loan? Maybe a loan summary screen in its entirety needed. So much potential. Handymen and Mechanics logic isn’t working. Handymen stand next two puke and will decide to clean one and walk away. New ride added and current group of 4 mechanics; were free but refused to fix it. After 2 “game months” of trying it, I hired a new guy and he fixed it in a second. Can we have a top concerns section of our guests? I haven’t come across a Free Play section but that would be nice to have as a long term save going on the side when not doing challenges. Great but issues with macIt’s as I remember, and the game play itself works great. building/construction works as it should, no issue with the playing. issue is with the iMac version. on the iMac, it doesnt work when not in full screen. game freeze when I try to minimize the screen. The app also freeze when I save. I have to force quit then reopen. no issue on my MacBook or phone (save, and small screen works), only issue on iMac. Awesome game !!I love the idea of the game. Very much the type of game I like to spend hours of my life playing however, as I’ve seen mentioned in other reviews, the admission can only be set to “free”. This feels as though it’s hard to reply on simply money from the attractions. As a first time player to the game, I also feel as though there is not enough instruction. There can be more in depth tutorials for those who are not familiar with the PC version of this game. BugsA bit buggy, wish it would be consistent when it came to path building. Also game keeps quitting while “free building” a park. There’s a screen issue where the menus are off the screen and you just have to blind click your way out or restart the game. If you need to delete rollercoaster tracks or paths you can only delete some, and others don’t register and you cant click on them either but they are in the way when trying to place something new. Just light the magic I remember!This game hits right in the nostalgia! I played endless hours of this as a kid in the early 2000s. I am so excited to play it on my MacBook Pro M1 Pro; it runs amazingly. So far, the controls are intuitive, but my issue is that the option menus and text boxes are very small and, even with my younger eyes, harder to read without getting close to the screen. Works most of the time, some frustrationsI have been enjoying my time revisiting this classic game on iOS, iPadOS and MacOS. The app needs a little extra work to be truly exceptional. Let’s start with the good: I’ve not encountered anything game breaking iCloud sync works well across devices Touch interface can be tedious at times but I have had no major problems with it. I have used my iPad mainly to play and while it’s slower to do things it’s been very relaxing and enjoyable. The not so good: On iOS and iPadOS, every-time I swap to a different app and then back to RCT Classic+ the game gets hung trying to load. Killing the app completely and restarting resolves this and has yet to lead to any noticeable progress loss. It’s a bit annoying. Laying paths could be improved. Needs a little workPixels were as big as your head 25 years ago because they had to be. Now they are used in retro action and puzzle games for nostalgia but interfere with quickly scanning and understanding a dense “manager” sim. The game could be fun like it was in 2000 but pixel art on a small tablet screen hurts the brain. It’s a good game to bring back retro play but a bad game style for outdated art. LOVE IT… butI love that this game is now playable via app. My only complaint is that there’s no sandbox mode. I loved playing sandbox mode with income not being a factor because you could just play with ALL of the rides and scenery without having to worry about a task. Maybe they’ll add sandbox mode later. Needs a tutorialThis needs a tutorial! Let the experienced players skip it but some of us have never played this before and you will waste hours just trying to figure out how to lay things out. GlitchyI have been playing RTC for a decade at this point. While this is nice, it has bugs. I spent over a week perfecting a custom park, and set it for a four year guest count challenge. In year two my favorite scenery pack vanishes every time. It’s disappointing to lose the jungle tab the instant I put down my custom log flume, Pirate’s Lair, which is heavy on jungle foliage. There are also occasional crashes, which stink. I’m definitely not happy about getting deep into creating a scenario only to have the game crash, forcing me to redo hours of work. When custom designing a park it sometimes doesn’t save correctly, and changes things like interest on loans. Once, I had it set to 10 and started the park to find interest magically at 26%! Say what? FrustratingI played this when it first came out decades ago and it’s still fun, the expansions are interesting. The interface hasn’t been updated since then, though. You have to find tabs and windows buried underneath each other like it’s 1998. Also, on the small iPhone screen sometimes you can’t even get to tabs you need. The scenarios are often annoying because they start with paths already built that guests and even staff are lost on or the parks don’t have enough room. If you want to buy new land you have to do it one square at a time. All this takes away from the actual fun of completing the challenges. Great classic, but fairly unplayable on an external monitor.Unfortunately, this game appears to not have received enough attention for the Mac version. Playing on a Mac mini with an external display, the interface only takes up maybe a quarter of the screen, and the rest is black. Text is too small to readTried playing for about 5 minutes and then had to quit. 

All on-screen text is entirely too small - I had my face about 2 inches from my computer screen to try reading anything. Also, all the icons in the park are way too small - I can barely tell what each icon represents. Need to either increase size of both or add options to change sizes.

Navigation needs fixed - to navigate/move the screen within the park, you need to move the mouse cursor to the edges of the screen for moving up/down/left/right - left/right is fine, however moving up and down triggers the menu bar and the dock to pop up, respectively. Would like to see a mouse/drag function added for movement through park.

Zoom is too sensitive - to zoom in/out you drag 2 fingers up/down however it’s very sensitive and hard to get the zoom to be what you want without zooming all the way in or out at first. Would like to see “pinch to zoom” function added. 

I didn’t get any further into the game to give a review about anything else. I literally can’t play this game until at least the text/icon size is updated. The others are tolerable but should be high on the priority list to fix/update..JoeSonOfGuyVersion: 1.0.408

Bugged, I Do Not RecommendI can’t load my save ATM, because I entered and exited the app wrong I’m presuming? It’s 2025, things like this shouldn’t be a problem. Beyond that, things just aren’t optimized for the mobile experience. I can only create footpaths one tile at a time, why? Making rollercoasters is also hopelessly confusing. The charm of the original game is definitely here, but I fear you’d be much better off playing the desktop version at this point, given the lack of mobile optimization and sudden cloud de-syncing. I hope the devs just streamline some of the tools a bit, while sticking close to the original. I can’t change the park entry fee from “free” to any dollar amount. There should be a way to do that because there is a revenue spot for park entry fees. It is a pain to lay down one path square at a time and buy one square at a time. Sometimes the touch functions are a bit finicky. Good but needs some changesThe money system doesn’t really work well, can’t change admission fee, I signed off for 2 days and came back and im like 25k in debt and have no way to make that money back to expand the park or anything so I’m just kinda basically stuck restarting.
