Since the 1960s especially during Vietnam, Americans became concerned with the media. Concerned with reporting facts. The issue of facts, true investigative journalism, and the “ protection of the Third Estate “became a reality with the rise of the Internet and social media. Newspapers lost advertising revenue stream. Investigative journalism/journalists were a funding black hole .. How could printed / cable / Traditional news networks maintain the bottom line? Result closing of overseas news bureaus .. with that the source of information became government agencies .. no independent verification.. no probative questions just accepting at face value. The “ Media “ in general capitulated to political parties . The largest capitulation was the liberal media CNN , ABC ( Remember Ted and “ Night Line “ ) NYT , WP, etc . On the conservative side FOX and NEWSMAX .. EPOCH TIMES .. My opinion the ratio was 90% capitulation of traditional media sources to more liberal ideas, politics etc I, as a conservative, do want to understand all sides of a particular issue. I NEVER would consider that any one side is fully trustworthy. However, with your App, etc I do find it’s balanced and that is what I want! THANK YOU!!!!

I just saw an ad a few days ago about sans news from a youtuber Tyler Oliveria, downloaded it and forgot about it. Then a notification popped up trying to tailor my settings. At first, It sounded like a free competitor to ground news, an app I had been thinking about purchasing. But honestly, the reason I am here now typing this is because it was free and granted me access to the unfiltered news I wanted. I thought I should insist leaving a good review and seeing what micro purchases can help them. Not really interested in a subscription though at all. I feel like a merit system might work. Like “hey we’re Sans news. Haven’t had a contribution from ya in a while, if you appreciate us we’d appreciate you… if you could send like 2 bucks that be great but no biggie. Thanks” but ye I like the blind spot feature. I’m centre right and I want to be informed both ways. The first pop up notification/story I clicked was basically “GOP urges Trump to increase protection for Ukraine” and I like when we are all humbled. If you’re reading this, remember… stay humble or be humbled…

When I first became aware of this news app I was skeptical for sure. So, I did a bit of fact checking and decided to download the app. True to the name this outlet calls it like it is and doesn’t get pushed left or right. In fact this news service calls out both left and right when important news stories are ‘conveniently left unpublished’ and labels them as Miss by Right or Miss by Left. What I particularly like reading is the subsection detailing why a particular missed news story is important for all sides to hear and what reporting on the same news stories actually sound like from a left leaning or right leaning point of view as a comparison to SAN reporting. No echo chamber nonsense like Fox, CNN and the like. This is the closest I have seen to when Walter Cronkite would read the news on television before corporate biased interests changed all that

Journalists have been overwhelmingly far-left for decades, surrounded by like-minded peers, so they can’t even recognize neutrality. I stuck with SAN for almost a year, hoping they’d just deliver the news straight. Instead, they constantly slip in left-wing rhetoric that bashes over half the country. It’s just a milder version of the America-hating, confused, lemming-like Democratic Party. Journalism students get grabbed young, force-fed an ideology like a religion, and anyone who questions it gets ostracized. It is actually a cult. The Left is not taught critical thinking in college, they’re getting brainwashed into a rigid belief system that punishes doubt and rewards blind loyalty. It’s not education, it’s indoctrination, and the second someone steps out of line, they’re excommunicated. SAN is trying , with it’s professionally trained journalists, but you can’t wash away decades of lies.

The app itself functions relatively well. The interface is good looking and easy to use and navigate. I have a few hiccups every now and then. Examples: Video not playing, Video getting stuck on screen, selecting a video but a different one plays. These aren’t app breaking and usually, closing the app and re-opening will resolve the issue. The app is going to continue to improve over time. The reason I’m writing this review, is to help bring awareness to Straight Arrow News. I want this app to really rise in the algorithm to get in front of more people. The content is amazingly unbiased. It’s to the point and no fluff. Easy to digest. Gives you only the facts that are known at the time. I love you Craig Nigrelli. I don’t think I’ve ever written a review before but I was motivated to with this app.

This is a great app. User friendly and very informative of current world news. I love the transparency and acknowledgement of which party is publishing the content.. However you aren’t really current on a lot of content that the left or right is reporting on. It would be nice if I could use SAN tool regarding most current news articles from either side/general. If there was a way I can search recent news articles from FoxNews or CNN the top media outlets who the general population look to the most (and probably shouldn’t trust) but they are the most popular and get the most attention. Have SAN transparent rating on those popular articles would be helpful.

Straight Arrow News is exactly what news should be: just the facts, no spin, no opinions. What a concept! It is almost comical to see some reviews from people on the far right claiming this app leans left. But maybe it is worth asking: is the app really biased, or is it simply presenting facts without distortion? If you have been fed commentary dressed up as news, hearing the truth laid out plainly can feel uncomfortable, even shocking. That discomfort is not evidence of bias, it is evidence of honesty. Straight Arrow News does not try to push you toward the left or the right; it simply gives you the story and lets you decide. In today’s world, that is rare, refreshing, and absolutely necessary.

I just want news I can rely on. No secret agenda, punches pulled, favoritism, or secret funding involved. Our country suffers from unreliable information, and the algorithms are constantly turning families against each other. I’m appreciative for this app that lays it out in as simple as it can come, although you have to put in effort sometimes in the layout. In my opinion the app is worth it. I hope it stays around for a long while and we can rely on it. They might be one of the last hopes in the age of deception we’re approaching, especially with AI and rash media, which has zero reliability or accountability. God have mercy on us. I’m new to SAN, and downloaded it with a fair degree of skepticism. I’ve seen a number of other organizations CLAIM to be unbiased. They lied. Every. Time. SAN has a different idea…they show you all the sources they have for a story, and a graphic representation of their bias - Left, Right or Center. This lets you see not only who is covering the story (often a great indicator of how it’s perceived by the media), but also provides insight as to how outlets are spinning the story. Until and unless everybody in the media stops conflating editorials with hard news, this looks like a great way to discern when bias gets out ahead of news.

A friend referred me to this app, so glad they did. I regularly read the New York Times because of their in depth reporting but they have an undeniable slant. AP News app had been my balanced alternative but the quality of SAN content trumps it. I used to periodically visit Fox News to see what was being reported, but SAN gives me great insight into red vs blue reporting on issues. While I’m enjoying SAN for free now I’m looking into how to directly contribute so that it doesn’t disappear in the ongoing AI shift. I don’t think you can find a better, more balanced news source.

I do feel their reporting is very unbiased and considers both sides to bring you the best coverage they can. The reporters and videos are very pleasant to watch. Their website and app isn’t bogged down with loads of ads and pop-ups. I think at some point they may add advertising. I’m just hoping if they do, they don’t overdo it like most others do. Too many ads and pop-ups are a game changer for me and that’s why I avoid most of the other news media sites. Keep up the good work SAN!!!

I really love the Straight Arrow News app and truly appreciate your commitment to unbiased, non-partisan reporting — it’s refreshing and much needed. One suggestion I have is to simplify the app’s layout a bit. It would be great if news articles were more clearly separated from other content, making them easier to find and read. Right now, the interface can feel a little congested, and a cleaner, more streamlined experience would make the app even better. I am glad to have found Straight Arrow News. It provides news without snarky remarks nor political bias — something that doesn’t exist on TV news. My one complaint: I wish the app would let you play the news stories in a pop-out box, so you can be using another app while listening to the news. The moment I try to access another app, SAN stops playing. I like to flip between mindless games to relax while listening to the news, a movie or audiobook. I can’t do that with this app. Nonetheless, I am very please with the quality of news that SAN provides.

As a veteran, I have observed that the integrity of our media has never been more under attack. What passes for journalism out there would not even pass my journalism 1 oh1 course, and I’m not exaggerating! It is so refreshing to see that there are those out there that not just realize the need for good solid journalism, but did something to bring it about. Great job keep up the excellent work.

In times of uncertainty from the loads of misinformation sold on news platforms as of lately, this is the most refreshing news app I have ever found. It's the only news platform I've ever found that lists misrepresentation and gives a percentage for which side (left or right) is under-reporting. Such an insightful app, and I recommend to anyone who truly cares about the state of the world from a non-biased AND ultimately anti-partisan perspective. Very refreshing. A sign America is headed in the right direction.

There’s a lot of content - latest news, podcasts, videos and topics. They give you stories from the right and left and show you stories that each side is missing. It seems to be acceptably non-biased by showing each political position and how different sides are covering news. It also has a nice feature where you can add nearly any story to a queue and then listen to them in a media player. Good app, well done.

I’ve been using this app for a few weeks now, and I love it! It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. Over the years, I’ve grown frustrated with major media—both right and left—for being more about propaganda than facts. I consider myself intelligent and don’t need the media to tell me what to think. I just want the facts so I can make my own decisions. This app delivers, with its bias scale and transparency. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

As someone who has become disillusioned with the current Democratic Party, but believes in much of the platform or values, I have had a difficult time finding objective reporting where gaslighting is not the preferred method. I’ve also recently found family members separating from me due to my questioning of current policies and procedure, and looking for resources that give both sides of an issue. Look no further than SAN!

You can customize your newsfeed to include a wide variety of topics, regardless of right left or center, you can see content from all sides but the app aims to give you an unbiased view of all news whether it’s political or not. friendly interface, you also get video summaries of articles, and there’s a tab fully devoted to showing stories that main stream outlets on each side are not reporting on!

So far I absolutely love the Straight Arrow News App. They give the facts of the story, if they cite a source in a story they’ll tell you and let you know if that source leans right or left and they let you know what other publications reported on it. I hope they can maintain this level of quality in their reporting. It is my go to source for news at the moment. They only ask that you don’t block ads, which sounds fair to me.

I believe this is the closest to a bias-free news source available. Ground News seems to have a problem with their bias and factual rating algorithms. They definitely have a blue bias it seems. SAN does not have this issue. I know when I open this app, I’m getting as close to straight down the middle reporting as probably possible. I appreciate that. The media miss section is excellent. Thanks for a genuinely great news app!

SAN does amazing work, you won’t find another news outlet like them so for that I give them 5 stars because they deliver the news straight without bias, slant, or opinions, yet they do it in a very enjoyable and personable way as well. Great reporters. The one complaint I have is that I can’t use the app for more than a few minutes because it hurts my eyes; it seems to be flickering at a very high rate. Maybe it’s just my phone.

The app is so great, it’s unbiased, it covers almost all media, it tells you what news to expect and when, and it lets you pick what you want to be notified about, the layout and the settings for them are aesthetically pleasing, and it’s overall really great. I honestly think they should have more layout settings such as different colors, etc. But overall this news app is really good but really underrated

I’ve been listening to SAN for a long time. I’ve actually stopped watching all the morning programs. I no longer have to sit through the recipe, exercise and fashion segment or someone else else giving me their opinion on what I should think about what’s going on in our world. I’m a news-alcoholic and this is my morning, fix!

If you're like me, and you're sick and tired of the constant biased agenda pushing and low IQ political arguments all over social media, this is the app for you. The real "silent majority" is the moderate section of this country that sits back quietly, lives their life, and watches the extremes tear each other apart. This app is for you. For people that recognize that expressing political disagreement in a respectful manner does not always resolve in a "middle ground" but a broadening of each other's perspectives, this app is for you. For people that understand that healthy political tension is necessary to progress, this app is for you. For people that have matured past the 6th grade and understand that the world doesn't revolve around them and their opinions, at last, this app is for you.

This is a fantastic news source. I was using a range of different news sites trying to get a good understanding of what’s going on. That takes a lot of effort, and I would find myself getting angry or frustrated no matter what source I used as most are so slanted—some to a ridiculous extent. I blame the news media for so much of the division we’re experiencing. Sites like this are a great step in the right direction.

I’m fairly new to Straight Arrow News, but so far this platform has lived up to its billing. News stories are presented in an unbiased way and it’s fascinating (and quite telling) to see the breakdowns in the coverage from other media. I spent 48 years in print journalism before retiring and saw firsthand how partisan politics would affect story selection, reporting and news play. Bravo to SAN for making objectivity cool again. Please, keep it up.

In a world of conflict and confusion it’s nice to see the other sides take on things. It’s also very eye opening to see just how biased the media is with certain stories and topics. I’ve been involved in discussions at work and friend groups and everyone is always impressed with my ability to stay neutral and clear. That’s because of this app. This is the best way to educate yourself without biases. SAN is my new daily driver.

Very much like it is advertised. Straight forward interface and news articles. You get to see both sides and ultimately get informed on different subjects you’d normally miss if you follow a singular news source. Easy access to past and current news and it’s free?! I truly appreciate the ongoing work being done to the app. Looking forward to continue using this as my main news source.

SAN seems to be pretty true to its claim that it is presenting facts without bias. I particularly like Craig Nigrelli as the host for the daily broadcast; he seems very impartial and objective in his reporting. There are a few of the other reporters for whom you can almost get a whiff of their political leanings—either left or right—by the way that they talk about one politician or another. That’s why I stick to mostly just watching Mr Nigrelli’s “Unbiased updates” broadcast, and then turn it off. Hence also the four star rating.

I never leave reviews for apps but SAN is worth it. Straight Arrow News has been incredibly helpful in shifting through all the nonsense that both sides push or refuse to report on. If you consume a lot of media to understand issues from both sides, this app will dramatically cut down the time needed to do so. Incredibly helpful, no fear mongering, political angles and a strong track record of reporting facts. Highly recommended this app to anyone!

Works hard at undoing and showing media bias. Better than some other unbiased news outlets in that SAN keeps pulling from major news networks. The other app/news outlet I used kept pulling from overseas and hyper-local news (small town!) stations, overlooking the biggies because they charge a subscription to see their articles. SAN gets around this regularly quoting and surveying CNN, Fox, Gallup, WSJ, et al. Watch / read more on SAN.

I recently discovered your app and I have to congratulate your team for providing one of the few balanced and unbiased source of news in this polarized world. If you want to get information rather than propagada from self-proclaimed news organizations, this is the app for you. I have a request though; for those of us that struggle with tiny fonts due to age, can you please add a setting to customize font size. I’m sure many will greatly appreciate it.

I am really impressed with this organization. My favorite feature is showing how left and right wing media will not report on a certain topic. I used to read from a bunch of news sources but this app condenses things. It shows the bias of other articles and the articles they write are very factual, short, to the point, and I can’t find bias in it. This is what journalism should be.

I was hesitant about downloading a news app at all because of the implications there would be political bias like in Fox News or CNN, but seeing that this app is completely unbiased and just explains things how they are is a godsend in my book. I also love the fact that they cover stories major outlets are ignoring, like the fact a high ranking cartel officer was captured in Maryland recently.

Even if I don’t like the news they report every once in a while, I know I’m hearing truths and facts. It’s easier to swallow the stories when they come from a place of educated journalists not riding on coattails. And there’s so much not reported on the news stations we all watch that deeply effects our lives! I can’t imagine the impact if all journalism was as honest. It should be mandatory.

I think it’s good, and how they give you multiple news sources that cover certain topics and events that happen in the news world. Although, it seems like sometimes they lean a little left. They sometimes take titles from left news sources and report the news based off of what they said. It doesn’t happen all the time, but sometimes just seems like they lean a little left at times.

Love this app!!!!! … Update: had this app for awhile now and I really enjoy it the bite size unbiased news helps em learn about all sides off the news and what side is choosing not to report on what is also interesting when certain times come. This app is well made, however I hope they add more stories.

Amazing app. Gives you a full breakdown on the issue + gives context + cites all their sources and indicates whether their sources are left or right leaning to give you the full picture, which I have never seen any other news outlet do. They also state the information that the left, right, and center leaning news outlets are providing to the public so that you get every side of the story with no biases. Overall, very unbias and very straightforward. I wish they covered more Canadian news though.

I stopped watching television or cable news because it’s so biased, usually to the left. Straight Arrow News provides an unbiased view of the news, not opinions. I have given up on network and cable news because it’s so misleading. Straight Arrow reports the news as truthfully as possible, and you get to see which side of the political spectrum it is being reported on.

I am so tired of all the false news. Thank you for bringing pure news. Finally!

I absolutely love this, all the different features, the fact checking, good sources, unbiased reporting, reliability, the layout of articles and simplified information, the ability to look at two different sides of a story simultaneously, i absolutely adore the people who were/are responsible for the creation of this news outlet whoever they are. If everyone got their news from here the world would be so much better.

If everyone got their news from here, the world would be a better place. There is nothing better than being given high quality factual information, and then given the space to form your own opinions. We NEED this but sadly most people are not ready for it, it’s much easier to turn your brain off and allow others to tell you what to think/feel.

SAN Arrow News offers a solid mix of international stories, but its coverage still leans heavily towards U.S. based news. To better serve a global audience, it would be beneficial for the app to include more stories from other parts of the world, especially to cater to the neighbour’s of The USA. As a Canadian user I want to see a broader perspective. Additionally, it would be great to see dedicated sections for humanitarian efforts and positive news that highlight the better side of society. Featuring uplifting stories about global progress, community work, and human resilience would provide a more balanced and encouraging view of the world. A more inclusive, diverse, and positive outlook would make SAN Arrow News a truly global and impactful news platform!!!

App is great. Love the aggregation style. Also really like the stats that show which side is reporting on certain stories. That concept really resonates with me. I’d actually like more of that. My only issue so far is the lack of a dark mode. That’s my preferred screen style for reading. I imagine many people would also enjoy this as it’s offered on most news sites and aggregators. Apart from that minuscule thing, I’ll keep using this app. Cheers!

Now my daughter and I can finally agree on things as we trust SAN to be non political

Just started using the app. And it seems kinda good. But the outrageous mistake is leaving the default button style. Remove the pressed effect so when I scroll is doesn’t keep fading. And also when switching in the TabView bar at the bottom it flickers and breaks the visuals really badly on iOS 18. Fixing the button visual problem should be 5min so please just do that

When I first downloaded this app, it seemed in the middle, but now all of the synopsis news stories they create have a definite left focus and verbiage. Several times the reporter left out key facts from original article. I confirmed that by looking at the articles they said they used in creating and found valid and important facts left out of their articles that contradicted their tone and message. Also, If they were unbiased, they would have a mix of some left leaning and some right leaning “articles” they push out. I still think the app is useful only to show when things are reported on one side and not the other, but I don’t rely on their news articles/ synopsis or even care to read them anymore because trust is gone when you have to verify each article. I might as well read the original articles myself. I have an issue with them calling themselves unbiased at this point. Just the facts, sir, I don’t need your opinion skewing what you write in your “articles”. I haven’t deleted it yet because I’m hoping they will self correct, but not waiting much longer.

Despite this app marketing itself as a neutral, straight-forward platform, it does feel like the app positions itself more towards an anti-right position. There does feel like a bias toward reporting and criticizing the current president and his regime. For instance, one can easily find countless reports on this app over arbitrary critiques, commentaries, and consequences etc. However, I could not find a SINGLE article in the platform about the president’s successful trip with NATO a week ago, nor his role in helping cease the conflict between DRC and Rwanda. It feels easy to minutiae critiques over the current president, yet significantly more difficult to find any important wins the regime has. Don’t get me wrong, minuscule criticisms over the current president ABSOLUTELY play their role and should be reported, but when the bias is toward the minutiae negative over the significant positive there’s an issue. As someone who leans right but desires to see both sides equally, I am left feeling like I’m only getting 80% of the story. Overall, the app is a good news source. I am pleased with this platform generally, but displeased with their reporting discrepancies. Solid overall news platform but seems to have aggravating biases.

I went into Straight Arrow News expecting balanced, unbiased reporting, but what I found was a subtle yet persistent liberal slant woven into their supposedly centrist coverage. While they market themselves as a platform giving equal weight to all perspectives, their editorial decisions, story selection, and framing tell a different story. First, there’s a clear pattern in which stories are prioritized. Pieces that highlight conservative missteps or paint right-leaning politicians in a negative light often dominate the front page or lead segments. Meanwhile, scandals or failures involving liberal figures are either buried deep on the site or reported with softened language and far less scrutiny. Second, the tone and word choice in Straight Arrow’s reporting frequently lean left. Conservative policies are described with words like “restrictive,” “controversial,” or “radical,” while liberal policies are framed as “progressive” or “inclusive,” betraying an underlying approval. Even opinion pieces labeled as balanced often end up with a liberal commentator given more space or a more sympathetic portrayal. Finally, expert guests and interviewees skew heavily toward liberal academics and think tank representatives, with only token conservative voices who are often outnumbered or given less airtime. This imbalance subtly reinforces liberal perspectives as mainstream and conservative ones as fringe. Straight Arrow News claims to champion objectivity, but in practice, they lean into the same biases they promise to avoid—just with a veneer of centrism. If you’re looking for truly fair, down-the-middle reporting, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

Californians could be ‘forced’ to choose a Republican as Governor? The ‘jungle’ system was designed to be comparable to ranked choice voting (RCV) in that the systems subvert the intent of primaries. Why even have primaries when a major party would be denied being on the main ballot? The new system seems fair, but when it isn’t favoring Democrats there are complaints about how it operates. Californian’s are usually forced to choose only Democrat options. Let’s return to primaries choosing one candidate for each party in the main election. RCV caused a minority candidate to win in a state where that would never have happened without RCV. Alaska.

When I first started looking for some fair and unbiased news source, I saw some articles that picued my interest and it seemed interesting to understand who was covering it. But just a little before and after the election, the service thought it ’ok’ to do their own ’un-biased’ op-ed and allow some independent editorializing, which is almost always either leaning or smack dab left! Honestly, I didn’t sign up for this. There are other services that do similar that I shyed away from that are free with ads or cheaper that I will explore again. I wish they would just stick to working on the important stuff, and keeping it unbiased for real.

A youtubers ad read convinced me to get this for the massive underreporting that media does. Yes although there some fascinating stories theres still massive stories not showing up like Project 2025, Trumps involvement with Epstein, or even Robert F Kennedy Jr. just to name some highlights in under reported news. There needs to be a “this just in” type of feature that covers the latest in all news from all reputable sources. I get better updates on tiktok than here. The UI is built like a desktop site so good luck if you have chubby fingers. I’ve been using this for a week and I just discovered the search icon. small at the top. After initiating a search and hitting an article it takes me back to the home page instead of the search results. The search doesn’t save, despite the massive amount of unused space when you press it, retyping a subject is a constant.

Last review wasn’t added and I have a pretty good idea why it wasn’t. This app has some non-bias articles, but most are slanted. For instance, any article that covers immigration doesn’t layout all the facts. One article said that illegals do not get taxpayer benefits or etc. But the study used to substantiate this claim was done before the influx under the Biden Administration. Article also failed to mention that Biden Admin changed administrative rules/procedures that permitted more illegals to be designated “temporary protective status.” This gave them identification numbers which allows them to apply for benefits. Now, there is an article stating that DHS is detaining those that do not have criminal records. Entering the country illegally is against the law. Staying on an expired Visa, past temporary status or ignoring a return home order is against the law. You also have to account for the policies that a city and or state has. Many of them do not report or care to stay on top of any criminal activity.

I absolutely loved this app until the most recent update. The most recent update will only work in portrait mode on my iPad. I have tried reinstalling the app multiple times and restarting my iPad multiple times and there is no setting to fix this. Clearly, this is a Current software configuration for the recent update sent out. It would be lovely if they would fix this issue, so then iPads that are sitting in landscape view can actually use this app without the user having to change the way they use their iPads while having it sit on their desks with a keyboard.

I’ll try to be as “straightforward” as possible: reporter Kale Carey is working for the wrong news outlet. Luckily, I hear “Straight Biased News” is hiring down the street. The title of the “video club” is “Assault on Ohio Congressman is latest incident of US political violence.” But by the end, the entire clip veers hard into bias. It wraps up by showing Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett on The View—of all places—turning the moment into her usual 20 seconds of fame, spewing anti-Trump hate speech. Watch it for yourself. If you’re actually looking for unbiased reporting, I’d recommend Ground News to help you. Hopefully with some future guideline changes SAN could be great!

I was very excited to see a news anchor that simply reported the facts as they are from BOTH sides. And this app definitely does that. Most of the time. However there is a certain journalist, Lauren Taylor, who definitely has a left leaning tone and way of writing to her articles. Her tone is very critical of our President-elect and other Republican politicians. Her writing is exactly what I expect to see, if I was reading the New York Times. If you truly want unbiased news, I recommend reading any articles except for hers.

Used to LOVE this app as a way to catch up on news as a brief daily digest. The player feature that just rolls through the latest news now has 30s ads with no option to skip and often results in the actual video not loading and shows the last frame of the ad on screen the whole time. Keep in mind if you’re no longer free or reasonable, you’re instantly inferior to your competition on this front whose only weakness was requiring a subscription. I’m going with them now.

I don’t know why this app only show 9 or 8 hours ago news only . I refresh like many times but still shows only 8 hours ago . I really don’t like this app . Thank u
