Great variety & genres!ShortMax is by far one of my favorite drama providers to watch. However there are some small bug issues that need to be fixed. At times when renewing or purchasing my subscription, the service temporarily stops working. Even when I refresh / update / reinstall the app. This part is very frustrating. It’s happened twice now. Both times it took nearly a day worth of watch time from my seven day subscription. Which is a waste of money & another issue I had was when I tried to go onto the website & refresh the subscription, the website kept saying “cannot connect, please try again”. However apart from the very view minor bugs / issues with renewing the subscription/ processing payments (sometimes the payment doesn’t process until days after I’ve purchased & sometimes the payment is processed immediately) the quality and readily available genres are superb. This drama streaming service is top notch in my opinion. Bugs and any other issues can be worked out. There are always new releases coming out every day. I never run out of dramas to watch. This drama streaming service is absolutely worth the money you spend. Actually decentSo, I decided to go with their monthly subscription. Yes it is extremely pricey for $40 but I figured that would give me enough time to explore and see what’s going on. I do like cheesy stories and cheesy movies and I have noticed that they have several different shows, different actors same storyline but it does however, give me the chance to see who the better actors are. They should have a voting score for the actors. but anyhow I just wish there was a selection where I can go through watch a preview and hit Add to my list. They do not offer that. I have to actually go into the story and then go out of it. I do not like that.. and for $40 a month it should let you be able to cast to your TV from the app. also, I’m not seeing a huge selection and I would like to see a lot more. Considering this does cost a lot more than Netflix but again I do understand that these actors do this for fun and they still need to pay some kind of production. But I am seeing a few of those shows that are on here are on other shorts apps. and if they’re all the same company that does these, then they should include all the ones from the other apps on this one. It’s too confusing to have so many different short apps. but overall, I’ll give this a five star because I hate commercials and the cheesy entertainment is kinda awesome but most likely will not stay on the subscription. RewardsIf you words are generous, thank you very much. I appreciate it however, I’m still struggling trying to get my account. I paid for one year subscription, but nobody seems understand. My old account is no longer available and I cannot get into it. You tell me I have to go into the old account to be able to receive my one your subscription however, again it’s been deleted is no longer available to me and my current account was registered to Google so that wouldn’t work cause I had to delete that account and instead a whole new one, but they don’t understand. That I did everything they asked me to do log out log back in and login to Facebook and then my old account would show up and have the subscription on it, but that didn’t happen. The stories are great, BUUUUTI got this app not too long ago and have really been enjoying the stories. BUT, the thing that gets to me is the price of the episodes and the limited chances to earn more coins. The episodes are 45secs-1min long and can cost as much as 60 coins for an episode. You also can’t check to see how much the episodes cost before you start watching. You only see the amount once you’ve run out of coins and the app wants you to buy more. You do get the daily bonus of either 25 or 30 coins depending on the day you’re checking in, and there’s 6 chances to get an additional 25 coins each by watching the 6 ads/day. That comes out to about 3 episodes if they’re 50 coins each. And sometimes the ads are longer than the episodes. Again, the stories are great and i understand that they take money to film, but having to buy coins when you’re sucked into a show for a 45 sec episode is a bit much. I know the smaller packs aren’t unreasonably priced, but the amount of ads you get as you’re watching back to back is crazy, even with having coins available. I think 20-25 coins per episode max across the board would be more reasonable considering that’s what you’d get from the opportunities to earn coins. 3 stars because i like the stories but am not made of money lol. Good Shows but Not Very UserfriendlyThe shows are good and some are awesome; however, the app isn’t very user-friendly. Some examples of why it isn’t very user-friendly are, 1-there isn’t a clear button to add a show to your personal list, 2-the episodes open without you selecting to open them so you can see how many coins is needed per episode nor are you alerted when your coins are being used, 3- you aren’t aware of when you’re running out of coins because you have no control of when a locked episode will unlock while watching and 4-the TT app gives you a view of 10 epis which is great for deciding if you want to watch it on the Short app, but on the app you are buying about 3 episodes that you have already been able to view which seems strange. You would think the app should start unlocking with the 11th episode instead of the 6th or 7th episode. Though I get it takes money to produce the episodes, there should be some awareness indicator or step in place so viewers know when coins are being used or when a locked episode needs to be unlocked to give viewers the choice to use their coins or sample other shows at their leisure. The pros are the 1-voice-overs are good translations to English, 2- there are a lot of shows to select from to watch, 3-the prices for coin packages is reasonably inexpensive for the smaller packages..3kirstenVersion: 1.5.3

Subscription cancellationDO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP. Nothing but a scam. It is clearly stated in the app that you can unsubscribe from membership at any time with IOS through settings/subscriptions. This does not work and the "last resort" method of gathering loads of information for your "case" to request cancellation via email also does not work. They ignore all emails and do not reply to you. I will have to file a fraud report with my bank to get a refund and then I won't have a bank card for weeks. Truly a pathetic experience and I am not one to write reviews on anything. Thinking of just downloading this app to use the free version? Don't even bother you have to watch ads to view a clip that is shorter than the ad itself. Only reason i bought the subscription is to watch a series I thought i would enjoy but the ads for these "shorts" only show the "best" clips from the series and the rest of the content is clearly just thrown together to increase the length. So when i try to cancel it , I can’t. charge goes through apple wallet. there are no receipts, no history of transactions via apple, they charge your bank account directly. i have finally revoked the authorization but they are still charging me. I have been emailing them since April 18th, they request information (ID and Email) from me, I give it to them, and then they do not respond. Now i have disputed the transaction from my bank. Hate the subscription and awful payment platformThis app keeps charging me for a membership and has worked around my apple account so the subscription isn’t through there. The website I can access through the app for them is just a page with no buttons or anything so I can’t cancel through their website either. There’s no option to cancel through the app. I ended up emailing the listed email under the subscription in the app and after a couple days someone finally got back to me and I had to fill out a form in order for them to cancel. THIS IS A HORRIBLE PAYMENT PLATFORM FOR A MASSIVELY OVERPRICED SERVICE. You should undeniably be able to cancel through the app itself that already has your account information. Cancel IssueI only do that to be visible! Please don’t pay the subscription. The email provided bounce back. The Apple ID subscription won’t show, as if you did not pay subscription. New update has made it unwatchableShortMax has a lot of shows and has good promotions that make it a much better value than other similar apps. HOWEVER I have two grievances, one is there is no way to read the descriptions of the shows. You can see the descriptions exist when scrolling through all the videos but it is cut off, and when clicking on it, you can't read it and it goes straight to watching the video. But my biggest grievance is after the new update it freezes and you have to restart the whole app every few minutes. It has always been glitchy when using the 1.5 speed function, once you release it, it goes back to where it was before you started watching it in 1.5 speed, but now it just freezes. It is not worth the frustration when I can watch similar shows on other platforms for free or watch through other competitors without the glitches and I get to read the descriptions before I decide on a show..LeesielexVersion: 2.10.0

It’s good, BUTSo I really do like the app, but my problem is that when they give you bonus coins, they only give you enough to wear. There’s only two episodes that you could watch in certain ones on top of that. The ads are ridiculously long like some of the ads are longer than the episodes. I think they can fix that because there should be no reason to why there are ads longer than the episodes like I don’t want a 45 second episode and then a minute and a half add to watch the next 45 second episode to then lead to another really long ad. That’s kind of annoying. Everything is literally great now don’t get me wrong. Good content, but is a robbery/tramp app (Read all)You use this for few day and you get immediately engaged with the content, so the offer you subscriptions (Really expensive, since are weekly instead monthly), and I accept one, so the app sends you to their website of subscriptions then you do the payments etc, but then is so hard to cancel, there’s not a setting or something in the app or even in the website to cancel the membership, so I contacted through email, and they immediately responded me asking for detail, so the only detail I had I give them in two screenshot about my profile and the email I received that I was charged, but is been a few days and I didn’t get a answer and got charged again… If you definitely want to pay weekly for this service and don’t cancel it, enjoy it, but this is a tramp with their content, (one more time is excellent, but not the service and the app membership) Not really recommended at all!.JonnyZSVersion: 2.15.0

Playlist and Player Needs WorkPros: Compared to similar apps, I appreciate that this app does have an option for an annual fee, that is relatively cheap compared to a weekly fee. I still think all of these type of apps charge an outrageous weekly sub fee, when you consider that many top brand streaming services are even cheaper for a full month, and A+ actors. PIP works on this app, which is not true for all similar apps… meaning I can keep watching even while doing other things on my phone. Cons: Compared to similar apps, the player is terrible. If the app crashes or even if you have it minimized for a long period of time, when you go back, it will lose where it was in an episode, or often not even show the ‘resume’ option, and you have to go into your history to find the movie you were watching. Even more annoyingly, it seems to have a very short history instead of a full history of what you’ve watched entirely, so after several movies it keeps trying to force me back into watching movies I’ve already seen just days before — often the only way to get it to stop recommending it is to jump to the end of the last episode and make it think I watched it again. It’s quite annoying. Also, despite the face that I chose this app specifically to watch one one of the Greek god movies (which is obviously AI) … there seems to be a lot of AI content starting to be added, and it’s horrible. I understand it for some really unique stories like Greek gods, or some crazy magic, etc — something they may not have a visual effects budget for otherwise … but then I saw they even had it for a normal orphan to riches story … I don’t support replacing real actors and actresses with AI.AzkettaVersion: 2.17.0

Great plays but…So I’ve had this app for some time and it has great dramas, but now the way they charge has changed. Instead of going through Apple you now have to go through a website and the instructions they tell to cancel through your Apple settings only to find out, that the subscription doesn’t even show up for you to cancel. Meaning they will continue to charge your account. I purchased a weekly subscription using my Apple Pay and I was supposed to receive my credits. Now they say to wait 30 min. Then it says it may have been applied to a guest account, or another account or you have to log-in. None of which works. I’m noticing more and more apps doing this. And they continue to charge with no way of actually canceling. This to me has now turned into a scam. Ads, Ads & 175 coinsGot suckered in with an ad on TikTok and it showed more of the show than what you saw in the app. I had to waste a few days of earned coins to get past what I watched. Every time you leave the app or on it for a few minutes, an ad pops up. Sometimes it restarts itself and “double rewards” doesn’t mean double. You get 175 coins daily that only cover 2 episodes since each episode is 80 coins. You get 5 extra episodes with an ed each but ads may freeze and you lose it or the show stops offering the extra 5. No incentives to earn more coins only discounts to pay for more like other apps or $20/week for unlimited. Very disappointing and frustrating, esp since there are similar apps that are not this ad infested. Stories are great, subscription not so much!I had been enjoying this app to make purchases whenever a story intrigued me. I love the stories but it’s been two weeks now, where I have been wanting to cancel my subscription since I don’t have any stories I want to watch, and I can’t get a hold of anyone. I have followed their email instructions and of course, trying to cancel through my iPhone. However the subscription doesn’t even show but somehow they are still charging. Subscription TrapAs many other people have stated before, the built in difficulty to unsubscribe is a trap. It’s the easiest thing in the world to add an unsubscribe feature in the app. But they don’t. They know it’s an issue and they made it that way by design. Instead, they have you go to the website to send a feedback email, which will then respond and send you another link to fill out a form (within a certain period of a time so if you take too long they can make you start over again and prolong the subscription period). It’s a Russian nesting doll of steps aimed at wearing down the resolve of people who want to cancel. Thankfully I didn’t think deleting my account was enough, and went through the shenanigans. Even after it all, I never received a confirmation that my subscription was cancelled so for good measure I screen shot all the emails and the forms, then cancelled my debit card and got a new one. Checkmate ShortMax Haha! They’ll probably respond to this post with: “We’re sincerely sorry for the inconvenience, please send us an email (to a completely different email than the feedback you’re supposed to use for unsubscribing - funny how that works, right?) so your case can be our top priority and earn your trust back” or something along those lines, but they know good and well that they don’t intend to help anything. Needs workUsually when i open the app, there's an ad and usually i can close out real quick and open it back up and then there is not anotherad. Now it's like they updated so much so that you can't open the app without watching the stupid ad. Not only do you have to spend days collecting daikys to have enough to watch at least 1 or 2 of the shirts because they make watching just one so expensive, you HAVE to open the app up to the stupid ads which are most likely too expensive to takeoff as well. O and if you miss your dailys by even 1 day, your coins to watch the shorts go way back down like you didn't just spend days collecting them. They even put a limit on how much you earn after a certain amount of coins collected. I think I'm just close to deleting the app all together. Complete rip offIt was great for about a week but then I ran out of shows to watch and wanted to cancel my subscription but it keeps charging me. I canceled the subscription on my account, emailed customer service to cancel the subscription twice, and even had to submit a claim to my bank but I keep getting charged $20 a week for this app I don’t even have downloaded anymore. This has been going on for three weeks now! In what world is paying $20 a week for shows a decent price? Especially when you don’t want to be paying anything! Of course, in order for me to finish it though, I paid for a weekly pass which I had planned to cancel right after I finished the story I was watching. However, because I got so busy, I forgot to and another week went by but I told myself that it was ok and that I’ll just unsubscribe the week after and make the most out of the time I had left. When the day finally came for me to unsubscribe, I noticed there was no available option for me to do that within the app (which is a HORRIBLE DESIGN btw and was 100% intentional for this exact reason). I was instructed to go to the ‘App Store’ or my settings to unsubscribe and funny enough the subscription itself did not exist! I ended up subscribing again just to see if it would show up in my settings and the ‘App Store’ and this time it did, so I was able to cancel. I personally thought I successfully got the job done but unfortunately, despite my efforts that day, the only thing that did was give ShortMax extra money because till this day they are STILL taking money from my bank account!!!! Refuse to refundThey charge your card twice for a weekly subscription and then refuse to refund you. They claim you have to go thru the App Store yet the App Store offers no refund and says to contact ShortMax. Not only that but good luck canceling this because they won’t cancel your subscription either. They tell you to follow instructions to cancel in the App Store, however their app doesn’t appear as a purchase or a subscription so you are unable to cancel. I will report this to the bank as fraud. RESPONSE FROM DEVELOPER IS INVALID: They said to email their feedback person. I have used that feedback option FOUR TIMES!!! As already mentioned, Cannot get a refund the company refuses, apple says it’s not eligible for a refund, and even worse yet it cannot be canceled. So they are continuing to charge even though I revoked payment authorization to them in writing. This is FRAUD. They want me to update the review to a FIVE STAR, not a chance until they refund me and cancel my subscription. I have already emailed with screenshots and proof multiple times. I even emailed the screenshots to the bank to prove that they are fraudulently charging me still and refusing to cancel the subscription. Worst vertical drama app out thereI’ve tried several of these vertical drama apps. ReelShort is the best, DramaBox is ok, and ShortMax is awful. The content is ok (hence 2 stars instead of 1), but there are WAY too many ads and they’re all super long, sometimes 2x the length of the episode it unlocks. There’s even an ad you’re forced to watch every single time you open the app. And if for some reason you switch out of the app (e.g. to check a message), when you switch back to the app, you’re forced to watch an ad AGAIN just to get back to the video. I’ve also noticed that there’s sometimes an ad even just when switching tabs within the app itself. I refuse to pay for a subscription on any of these apps because they’re charging 4x the price of Netflix for a tiny fraction of the content. So I just watch a little at a time and unlock videos by watching ads. However, as of today, ShortMax has removed the option to unlock 5 episodes by watching 5 ads (which was often 10 ads because ShortMax would have an ad pop-up at the end of an episode and then require you to watch ANOTHER ad to unlock the next episode). Now, the only option is to watch the bonus ads and checkin for a total of ~200 coins, which only allows you to watch maybe 2-3 episodes per day..DdltVersion: 2.0.25

DissappointedExtremely pathetic customer service, they dont have in app subscription cancellation option and also auto charge your card which seems like their smart way of not letting people cancel kn their in and the charge is to less to care for so they can just keel in charging your card with smaller transaction when you have no idea or you dont care about the charge yourself so they make their money. The email they have provided on their app is out of service, i had mailed 5-6 times in 2-3 days but hadnt gotten no response back infact everytime i had sent a mail, an automated email would pop up saying their email is out of service, i had made sure to cancel my subscription before my membership date ended and another cycle started so i wont be charged bit i couldnt cz of their pathetic options in the all and then i had to just block the merchant over my denit card after talking to my bank and in between i had found their another email where i mailed them and got a response back a week after i had blocked the transaction already. BE CAREFUL THEY WILL STEAL MONEYEveryone, please be careful when paying for their VIP subscription or anything of the sort because not only is there not a simple and easy way to cancel through the app but even once you cancel through your apple subscriptions, they can still charge your card and they will attempt to keep your money and continue to charge your card. I asked for a refund and they basically told me that was not possible and even tried to tell me i had to use or go through paypal when i don’t even have the paypal app and i have never used their services. SubscriptionThis app will let you subscribe and then will give you two different options as to had to unsubscribe but the one option doesn’t even work. The second option is to go through the app store but it doesn’t show up on the App Store. I wanted to cancel my subscription and I couldn’t. I thought that it wouldn’t renew unless I renewed it so now I’m short $20 and the app wants me to pay another $20 in order for it to show up in the app store so that I can cancel it which is crazy. There is also no way to cancel in app so I’m stuck paying $20 dollars every week. Because I can’t cancel it. I only bought it because I wanted to watch on series. Because you either have to watch more app then tv or pay for it so you can continue to watch the series which is why I bought it. But I can’t afford to continue to pay $20 every week for every. Not worth it in my opinionI recently started watching a series on Facebook and was enjoying it enough to want to see the main character get her revenge, despite the mediocre acting. So, I decided to download the app to continue watching. However, I quickly realized that the app stops the story after chapter 10 and requires payment to access the remaining chapters, starting from chapter 6. The cost of 80 coins per chapter seemed quite steep to me, especially considering the high price of the coins themselves. While the app does offer an option to watch ads to earn coins, the requirement of watching 5 ads for just one chapter seemed excessive, with each ad being around 30 seconds long. The good thing, though, is that when you first sign up, they do give you a good amount of coins for completing tasks with your profile. I believe I got around 300 coins, but it still did not get me to where the ad left off. In my opinion, it didn't seem worth it, but I would suggest giving it a try if you're interested. SCAMMER SCAMMER ALERTI subscribe weekly but decided to cancel my subscription. But they keep charging me even if I canceled them. I tried to contact them but I never had any response. Don’t do itThe free trial is not a free trial. I added it to try it out and I unsubscribed well before the renewal date (like a week before). On the renewal date it charged me anyway.
