Actually Great GameI’m not lying it’s actually pretty great. I’m surprised Pokémon Go is still alive after this. You get to open two card packs every day for free. There are no lives or “energy’s” so you can battle as much as you want every day which is nice. You get points from opening packs that you can use to buy certain cards. You even get to physically slice open the packs so it feels real. You can exchange duplicates for flare which just makes the cards sparkly or surrounded by particles during battle or stuff. It’s really fun to show off that you have so many of these super rare cards that you can afford to trade a few for some sparkly particles. It’s so fun seeing friends and telling them about your latest pull. It’s essentially the card game, just perfectly digitalized. There are actually no ads. I’m not joking, and they’d better not change that. Not even ads asking you to get premium, which is like $10 a month to open an extra pack and unlock special missions with special awards. But you don’t have to do it to proceed. They offer the ability to buy things like Poké Gold but they don’t force you, or show any ads telling you to. They are constantly updating it to fix bugs and make it better. You can have friends and I think pretty soon they’re opening trading, which will make it very interesting. If I could change anything at all, I would add more cards, with different Pokémon on them, which I think they plan on doing. I want a Fuecoco so bad! Also the music does get a little annoying after a bit, but honestly just mute it. It’s worth it.Version: 1.0.9
OBSESSEDI’ve been playing/collecting all things Pokémon since I was 9, and when I heard about this game I was worried it would end up being a cash grab, but it’s completely playable and enjoyable without spending a dime. It’s hard to pass up some things in the shop, like I had to splurge on the Lillie set cause she’s my fav (back when Sun and Moon came out I had never seen anyone with my name spelling, so for there to be a Pokémon character, who is also blonde like me, have my exact name made me feel special, so she’s always been my fav!) There isn’t a whole lot I would change other than the ability to see all collected emblems on profiles and up the number of binders and display boards (there’s so many cards and covers/backdrops being added, it’s hard to work with the limit) I’ve got so many emblems I’m proud of that I want to have on my profile, but we’re only able to have 3 shown, so if we could do like the wishlist even and have 3 shown on the profile then click to see the rest of them, that would be awesome! Also, the pull rates feel off. I’ve gotten amazing pulls way more often in the beginning than I have the last few months. I get dupe common after dupe common and it makes pulling feel way less fun. I have opened 227 packs of Eevee Grove trying to get the 2 star Sylveon since it released and still nothing. I have 20+ dupes of the common cards each like I can’t get hardly anything and that’s when I feel like the shift in odds started cause it has continued on that way since then. Please readjust the pull rates cause it feels impossible to get good cards now..Version: 1.4.1
Fix TradingI love the game and idea of it. Do not get me wrong the game is pretty fun. But for a trading card game the trading feature and concept is very very lackluster and could’ve been done better especially when that was the one thing that excited most fans. When I got the update and even saw reviews online I already knew the trading feature was going to tank. The concept is there but to be honest the fact that there is a limit to what to trade and there is a cost to to it is very disappointing. At the very least having to introduce a brand new “Trade” currency when we have the Shinedust readily available with majorly users having thousands already is pretty much unnecessary. I suggest to take a good look at the trading system back during the Pokémon XY era on the 3DS where players used to nickname Pokemon to form sentences as a way of communication so a chat box feature would’ve been nice (obviously no bad words) and you can see what exactly what they are wanting to trade. Another way around this is basically a “Request Trade feature” where you can essentially let the player you are trading with know what card you want specifically. Lastly, bringing back Wonder Trade and the GTS System would be great. A Local Trade system would be nice also as it would be more efficient and easy if someone standing right in front you has the game and wants to trade. I hope you guys really consider this in the future..Version: 1.1.0
Give it a try!Pros: It’s Pokémon! The art is really well done. Battle system is simple to learn. Auto battle feature makes it even easier. Deck building is easy and intuitive. The Pokémon themselves are cute, cool and fun to collect. They keep introducing new cards and variations on old ones which keeps the game fresh. Cons: Battle system is a bit too simple once you understand it. Going second is an advantage that doesn’t exist in the original card game. The energy supply system is better in the original card game and more fair. Needs a power balance as Charizard EX is simply too OP, capable of dealing over 200 damage which is more than any Pokémon has. Moltres EX can add 1-4 energy every turn meaning you could have Charizard at full charge in 3-4 moves (counting evolutions). It’s really just poor balancing. I think power creep could be an issue. If you keep increasing power to match charizard, you risk power creep and then anything under 200 hp that deals less than 200 damage will no longer be viable. If you work out a battle system closer to the original card game where there are energy cards and both players have equal opportunity to add them, it could help balance a bit without the power creep being a factor. Final take: play the game! Don’t take it too seriously and just have fun and collect Pokémon. It’s great for what it is and I’m confident it will continue to be interesting with added card sets and new solo challenges. If you want the nostalgia, you’ll get the nostalgia. If you are new to Pokémon, this is a really fun way to start..Version: 1.1.1
GAME CHANGESGames amazing really is , but it lacks potential. Playing some time now 1st timer I see as fighter types have it all at this moment of the game , wish it wasn't like that. Wish all types have it as fighting type do. And take off the 3 Points scoreboard give us like 500 health to at least do some kind longer strategies. As of right now where the game stands I don't see it getting any popular other than grinding for fighting types as they are in a strategic way the best in the game because if you don't you just outplayed by fighting types unfortunately. 1 last problem the fact that stalling allowing you to win sometimes is a joke. You telling me my whole time setting up a EX Pokemon just to get wiped out by fighting types and for a EX Pokemon 3 points or 2 points taken off gives me little to no chance to make another set play or counter. Not even my best of the best fire team has a chance against fighting types just base off the fact fighting set up just out speed in attacking and just to powerful. Maybe make a different better version where all the types having it like fighting types so everyone can grind for there element types without the worry of having to waste a pack pull. And also we need some side dungeons or something for specific limited time cards or rewards pack pulls. Only cause the event you reach a certain limit till you can't do nothing else..Version: 1.6.0
Fun but could use improvements!Personally, the game is very fun however after the first few days, the pack openings, slow down drastically, and if you want to build a deck, you are left with very little options since the trading is also currently only for friends. If there was a way to set up a trade and request some cards you are looking for but make it public so anybody can see what you are looking for and if they have that card, they can do that trade if you are offering something that they are looking for as well. As for long-term playing if multiplayer battles would offer at least one pack hourglass per victory it would give more motivation to continue playing rather than just 15 XP at a time. Personally 12 matches won what equal one pack which honestly it’s pretty fair considering you actually would have to try and win these 12 hourglasses Final thing would be the shop there are currently a few things you can purchase in the shop it would be nice if the hourglass at least reset so we can buy more or at least offer some cards daily that you can use points to buy in case you were missing any currently you can only purchase our glasses and a few covers and sleeves, but once everything has been purchased, the whole store is grayed out and all the points you have are basically useless because the hourglass don’t seem to reset, the few promos that are available are the only things you can purchase, but it would be cool if those cards would rotate to other random cards that someone may need such as commons or uncommon or occasionally that one rare card that someone might be looking for to complete a deck.Version: 1.1.2
Incredibly solid game lots of potentialLiterally one of my favorite games. I love how real it feels with opening packs and the random nature of collecting. Being limited to the cards you’ve collected, to build decks around your strategy, is awesome because it really is your play style and deck building that gets you through matches. With that being said I wish there was an option to choose the size of your game. For example the 20 card per deck game is good for fast games, it would be awesome to be able to choose 36 or even the standard 60 card decks like the real life rules for those who have enough cards and have played long enough. Also it would be a lot more satisfying if there was some kind of tangible reward for winning games like hourglasses or maybe even single cards or like entire packs in the new ranked mode would be awesome. There are so many pokemon cards in real life and the fact that this is digital allows you to separate the legality of different block cycles along with the annual shift in real life, (all the balancing is basically done for you by the developers all you need is to add options like “F block” or “G block”) or change up the card abilities to keep it fair and you won’t have to make any block categories. Anyway I digress the sky’s the limit with this game and I think almost everyone in the pokemon card community would jump onto this if it reaches its potential. I already love it and there’s so much more you can do..Version: 1.2.0

It’s not bad! While I am not a BIG Pokémon veteran, I do find it very enjoyable as an 11 year old myself. Now I’m not saying this game is perfect, but I do see some aspects that can be frustrating. For example, the pack time, and while I’m not as mad as some other reviewers, I think it’s insane how you need to wait a day for 2 virtual packs. Now Although this is kind of unreasonable, there is a healthy balance between it, like the currency in this game, hourglasses, which can help reduce the time by an hour per hourglass. This actually is not hard to get and you don’t need to actually spend your money for a lot of them. You get some at the start, and you can complete beginner quests (which are pretty easy) to get bundles of this currency. I’ve gotten about 40 and only have played for 10 minutes, with no money, hence this game isn’t really Pay To Win. Now the battling system. I don’t know really. I’m still a new player and not a really a reliable source when it comes to certain aspects of the game. But the really main thing of this game is to Idle and Collect. Sure you can play and battle with your friends, but at the end of the day it’s just you waiting patiently for those little boosters. But, Pokemon did a nice job designing this game in my opinion. There is really no flaw (except for you TCG players having to deal with a new battling system, from what I researched.) to this game. It’s a generally fun game, and that’s a win in my book. Thank you Pokemon for this amazing refresher to the TCG online game I played as a little toddler at my PC..Version: 1.0.6
5 stars but I want to wonder pick☹️First of all, love the game. It’s great, I love the packs, the anticipation you get while tapping or swiping the cards, waiting to see if you got an EX or something more legendary. The battles are fun, and the pace at which you can get cards and the auto deck build features make battles more balanced. Please do release trading soon, it will make me love this already great game even more! But onto the second thing, I think that the timers on opening a pack and wonder picking are too different for me to feel comfortable with these timers. For instance, it takes 12 hours for you to get another pack, while wonder picking takes a full 60 hours to recover to 5, which I find outrageous! I know that this wonder pick system could be easily abused with shorter timers and also that the game gives you a good amount of wonder pick hourglasses earlier on, but nonetheless, eventually you’ll hit a point where all of your wonder stamina is burnt out and you have poke gold that you don’t want to spend the wonder pick timer or just plain have no poke gold or wonder hourglasses at all, you must either resort to spending money on the game or waiting out the full time you need to get what you want. I know that wonder picks are supposed to have a randomness feature to make it fun, but seeing a great pack to wonder pick and not having the wonder stamina + hourglasses to do so is quite disheartening. Devs please think about shortening this timer..Version: 1.0.7
Great game, needs fine tuningI think this game is great. Fun and free to play. I like the trading system being implemented in the game but I do wish you could communicate with people what you would like to obtain. Whether that’s super strict communication via texting to filter inappropriate language and use of symbols to imitate inappropriate words (hint hint), or a way to look up a certain card available for trade and select one to three you’d like to have traded before initiating a trade (hint hint). I feel a lot of time is wasted when trading for specific cards and all you can do is show what you have with binders. And canceling trades because you were offered a card you didn’t want or already have can send the wrong message. If we could adjust this that would be awesome. And one other thing I feel isn’t an issue, but would be nice, is if you could open 10 packs at a time and select how many of what packs you want opened. Maybe I want to open 3 packs of one kind and 3 of another and 4 of a new pack. I understand I can open one pack at a time of all the different packs I want opened but it does consume a lot of time and this game seems to do a whole lot of that with all the animations you have to sit through. Realistically, I want to tear open a bunch of packs right away and see what I get! Anyways, fantastic game and loads of fun..Version: 1.2.0
Edit: Future Corrections Promised for “Deluxe” Pack EXEDIT: Limited-time gatcha cash-grab aside, I have had a great time collecting cool Pokémon cards and playing a nicely condensed version of the TCG. Rated 1 star before the promise to make reprised, unchanged cards count towards their respective old packs as well. END EDIT. The promise: The Deluxe Pack EX will help you catch up on getting old cards you haven’t pulled yet. The reality: The cards really are exactly the same, apart from the limited-time new illustrated cards and a new foil variety of some more common cards. BUT, none of the old cards you already have count towards this set, and none of the cards in this set count towards the old sets. Even if they are exactly the same and are listed in their details as being in both. EDIT: The issue of old cards not counting towards the old packs will reportedly be updated in summer 2026. Even so, paying for premium for three packs per day, you could not feasibly get all of the new limited time cards in this one-month set while it is here because of the odds of duplicate cards. END EDIT. When I did your survey and wrote that what we needed was a way to catch up, I did not mean “make it literally impossible for f2p players and unlucky premium players to complete even just the A series base sets.” Ridiculous. I spent the free premium trial to get the promo Latias because my first ever video game was Sapphire, but this release ensures I will never spend anything but time in this game..Version: 1.3.2
It needs work, but it’s a good ideaThey are very clearly actively developing this game, however, there are currently som very clear flaws that need work. For example there is currently nothing to do with duplicate cards. They appear to be working on a trading feature which will be good. Though I wish there were a way to exchange them for currency that can be saved up to purchase cards that you want or need. That would allow a deck building process to go more smoothly and make cards much more accessible to players. Secondly there is a problem with the online battling system. For example, today I won a game because my opponent disconnected. I waited for the game to get to the win screen where it shows the most valuable card. The game had already expressed that it was a victory and so I closed the app. Because I closed the app it was counted as a loss and it went against me rather than for me. Even though I had already won. The match had already been decided and my opponent wasn’t even online. That being said I hope that it continues to get attention from the development team as I genuinely enjoy the concept of a fast pace Pokémon TCG with smaller decks. It makes building a deck more convenient and collecting easier as you only need a maximum of two copies. I hope this review is taken as honest criticism meant to help the developers and not any disliking of the game. I just feel that it could be made better through a few tweaks. Thank you all for making the game..Version: 1.0.6
Best beginner game, desperately needs a dark modeProbably the best game to actually learn how to play Pokémon, collected Pokémon as a child, never understand how to play despite various attempts to do so. This game is by far the best at actually learning how to play. Very simple game with not a whole lot to it, claim a few free packs a day and build a collection, battle local friends or random people. Card quality is excellent and getting rare cards feels meaningful and it’s FREE. That being said there are some major flaws, first off there’s really not that much to do, an incredibly slow paced game. They should really consider adding different kinds of minigames utilizing the cards you’ve acquired. This is an extremely basic game with very little assets and yet the whole UI feels overly slow to load. Just going from your catalog page back to the main page loads for 5-7 seconds which feels overly tedious and annoying when it should be something that’s instantaneous. Part of me believes this is intentionally done due to there not really being that much to do. None the less I hate it. The last and most important, this game desperately needs a Dark mode. The entire UI and backgrounds are white, it’s bright and just drains battery needlessly. Implementing a dark mode would be a game changer for me and make the game look infinitely better..Version: 1.2.0
Trading is frustratingI love the game and almost everything about it is cool except for coin flips (they seem like they are predicted for your win or lose), very hard way to get hour glasses and TRADING. Why do I have to get rid of 3 rare cards to be able to trade just 1 less rare card? It would be fair if it was giving you the same amount of tokens for the exchange of a card which you need for trading it. But giving me 200 tokens for ex card and requesting 500 tokens to trade it makes no sense, including the fact that I pull any ex cards once in 10 packs. Also, what are we supposed to do with the regular cards which I have more than 15 of each? Are they useless and worthless? So why would I have to spend money on poke gold ot wait for 12 hours to get hour glass to open the pack and have those useless and worthless cards in there which i can’t even exchange for trade tokens? Makes no sense. About HOUR GLASSES. Kinda frustrating too, because when you just start playing the game you get a ton of missions which have a reward of 24 hourglasses each. And then when you finish all of those (usually until u reach level 6-10) there’s no other way to get more hourglasses besides waiting for days, weeks and even months, you can’t buy them for shop tickets more than limited amount a month. Those missions which are for 30 days limited in time where you have to open 70 packs and get 2 hour glasses as a reward is a joke. It’s gotta be fixed.Version: 1.1.2
Great Game but Flawed TradingI love this game and recommend it to anyone who enjoys Pokemon or card games. However, they lost 2 stars just on the trading implementation. We’ve been eagerly anticipating this feature since the game’s release, and I personally didn’t mind the announced restrictions since they seemed to limit people from abusing the trading system. Now that trading is here, I’m very disappointed. On top of a refillable hourglass currency, there is a trade token currency that is only obtainable from events or from dusting higher rarity cards. This design punishes new players who would have been greatly encouraged by trading to be able to build solid decks to play and compete with. It also doesn’t stop players from rerolling new accounts and dusting all the cards they don’t want so they can trade one or two their main account needs. Instead of offering a card to trade to a friend, please make it so we can request a card similar to how showcases work. “I’m looking for this card” and then friends can make a trade offer requesting a card they would like in exchange. The current system does not work unless you are able to message the player with the card you are wanting, and that has issues with many players not speaking the same language or having to use a third-party app to communicate. Other changes I would like to see: Dark Mode, dusting cards for pack points instead of trading tokens, being able to view friend’s whole collection..Version: 1.1.0
Great game, needs more features and some balancingPlayed the game for a week and I had already completed all of the solo battles and quests, all of the challenges and the premium challenges within days. After you complete the battles and use all of your currency for booster packs or wonder picks there’s nothing really to do. Random match battling feels not worth it, you end up investing 10+ minutes into a game and if it’s a loss you get no xp and if it’s a win it’s only for a little xp. There is an option to play against beginner level players when you first start or you can play against experienced players instead, however there’s no reward for upping the difficulty. In my opinion theres no incentive to play against experienced players, you can just take advantage of all of the new people. All this being said the game has been fun, opening packs feels good, the cards look good the all around collection system is nice. The battle system is very nice but heavily rng based, you can have the best meta deck and lose to anything simply because you got unlucky. And one more thing to add. I think more battle modes as a default and not just an event would be fantastic; ie. 2v2 modes or bigger deck modes or even unlimited lives or more that 3 lives (or points to win, you get what I mean). This game has a lot of potential and for a phone game it is phenomenal. Looking forward to see its progression.Version: 1.0.9
Great but needs workThis game is usually one of those games I get on to claim something but then end up playing it for 20 more minutes. It’s very well designed and very fun to play. It brings so much thrill and excitement opening packs and battling. The parts that need work are the battles and trading. Trading was an experience I was waiting for ever since I started. When it was finally put in I immediately hated it. You cannot trade cards of the current set that’s out, and the highest level of cards you can trade are full arts. I have many duplicates of cards that I could trade for other cards but can’t because they’re too high of a level. With the battles, you can either put it on beginner or trading card player. Beginner is pretty self explanatory but trading card player is not. TCP (trading card player) is for people who are more experienced in the game. You can easily change these settings for yourself so it can be easier or harder. Sounds good, wrong. You can face one of the top players in TCP. Sometimes it gives you a challenge easy enough to beat, but sometimes you get whooped. Beginner on the other hand is for beginners but anyone of any skill level and join beginner. So if you’re really good at the game you can go on beginner and farm wins. I wish it was kind of like rocket league where they put people of the same skill level together. Sorry for making this game sound really bad. This game overall is great and one of my favorites. I was just focusing on my concerns and hoping they’d be fixed. I would 100 percent download this game, or even just give it a try..Version: 1.2.5
How does nobody know about this game?If you've seen this game on an ad you should definitely give it a chance. This game is very fun, at first I saw one of my friends playing and I asked him what he was doing, he was playing this game and he convinced me to install it, I was kinda expecting the game to be lackluster as it just seemed like another random app that would rot in my phone, but I'm kinda addicted, as I'm sure many people can agree with. There's not an overwhelming amount of cards in the game yet so it seems like a realistic expectation to collect all of them with is a nice thought, it's definitely not a pay-to-win game, you can get amazing decks and cards for free, there are no ads, (I know I sound like an AI when I say that, but it is a really nice addition) and my favorite part is that there are no limits on the amount of battles you can have per day, and there is no consequence for losing them, something I really hope they keep in the future as barely any games have such a feature. If you are a hardcore fan of the ACTUAL playing card game, I could understand how you might be a bit disappointed at the simplicity of the online trading card game compared to the real tcg, but I think it's simple style allows for more players to enjoy, so i guess in conclusion you should definitely install the game..Version: 1.0.7
We need more then 15 decksOk so your if you owned 2 of every card you’d be in the 1,000 and with only 20 cards each deck and only 15 deck slots that’s so little and it’s the only thing that makes me not even enjoy the game I should be able to have at least 4 decks of the same typing for each type especially with how many different combinations you can have the only reason a player should be able to have 1 for each typing is if it’s a player that runs only meta decks for PvP but I want to enjoy fighting my friends with different decks that are unique but I can’t endless I save all my previous decks in pictures or writing in my notes and that’s ridiculously time consuming I’d say at least 50 deck slots and at most 100 there’s 0 reason why this hasn’t been changed yet especially considering the fact that they just added new packs too the game the developers need to quit bing lazy and making us do all the hard work of constantly changing and memorizing our old decks and just add more slots it’s a concern I’ve seen all over Reddit and Facebook there’s a entire Facebook group focused about the exact complaint and for some reason the devs some how completely miss this and just keep adding more cards and accessories so for the love of god and all that’s holy don’t become the kind of company that doesn’t listen too the community and just add more deck slots.Version: 1.1.0
Great digital adaptationI’m probably going to be the only 13 year old to write an accurate and grammatically correct description of the game, but here we go. When I was younger, I attempted to learn the physical version of the card game, but my four brain cells couldn’t muster the power of comprehending “energy” and “trainer cards” so I gave up. Years later, on Pokémon day 2023, I saw the announcement for this game, and I thought it was very cool, until I forgot about it 12 hours later (not suprising since I can’t remember what I ate for lunch when I get home from school). But I saw the trailer again before it came out and I decided to get it. I showed the game to all my friends at school, and they all got it. The day it came out I showed up to school with it and pulled a full art. All my friends cheered and freaked out, screaming “good card! Good card!” The teachers must’ve thought we were insane. So you can imagine how all my friends reacted when I showed up to school, day two of the game’s release, and I pulled the gold pikachu EX. It was legendary. The gameplay is fun, there’s new cards all the time, and nothing compares to your friends gathering round to see you pull an amazing card (or the trashiest pack, which is still cool since your friends are all “aww dang”). In the end, great game, but no one’s going to read this, so….Version: 1.2.0
Could use a few tweaksOverall, this game is pretty great. I really do enjoy playing it although I do feel that there are some mechanics that do need some changes for for example the trading system me personally I know that if I was trading cards in real life, that wouldn’t how I would trade them in game. It’s very specific on rarities and what types you can trade a lot of me and my friends would trade cards either for the looks or for how powerful they were but a lot of the times we would trade them for looks so like full art cards or something like another thing and this might just be my bad luck, but I feel like the coin flipping system is a little broken and I know that a coin flip is supposed to be 50-50 but it doesn’t feel that way maybe that’s just a problem on my end, but I feel like it could be a little bit more balanced I also think that there should be a penalty for people who concede mid battle because I can’t even begin to explain the amount of times I’ve gone into a battle and have either been in the lead or so close to winning and the other person backs out before anything else can happen. It’s pretty infuriating so I think that there should be a penalty. Like you have to wait five or 10 minutes before playing your next match online. but other than that pretty solid game I can’t wait for more updates in the future..Version: 1.1.2
I’ve got no words for thisIt was my friends the ones that told me about the game and because I don’t like Pokemon cards I didn’t want to listen to them but they told me that I had to give it a chance and boy was it worth it, I don’t think I have ever enjoyed a game like this, specially in the part that it’s just so relaxing and there are no penalties if I lose a match, on the contrary it makes me think about what I did wrong and what I can do to upgrade my deck and my strategy, unlike a certain game where two kings battle against each other using cards as well, and I’m saying this because it was so frustrating losing on that game that I got to the point of madness, I would go nonstop until I regained my trophies back and it got to the point where I decided to delete the game because I just couldn’t enjoy the game anymore, specially with the pay to win people playing the game, but here it’s just you, your opponent and the cards no leaderboard, no toxic gameplay, no emotes to troll people, no pressure to rage after losing a game, I really hope that the game stays like this and doesn’t go the wrong way with things like a battle pass or thing like that, that ruin the fun of the game, my best regards to the creators of the game and I hope you’re all good. Thanks for this game and this opportunity..Version: 1.0.9
My ( I think ) reasonable opinionI didn’t know what to expect from this game at first, I thought it was going to end up being lame since I’ve never played with the cards. However I found my self dedicated to completing the Pokédex and finding the best builds in the game. Plus, me love shiny looking things… anyways I’m sure the extension of the Pokédex and different packs will be implemented in future updates which I totally want to wait for, but I’ve seem to find my self in a slump on game play. I would love to see different game modes for online matches like 2v2 player battles or 1v1 player battles but you both control 2 active Pokémon ( idk much about other ways to play the card game ) but what I do know is that the repetitive game play is becoming more boring as time goes on. Especially because ( this brings me to my last opinion ) the lack of missions. I’ve completed the missions for the most part and don’t really find my self striving for anything else in the game. And since I’m typically a free to play kind of guy on phone games I just wait till my time to pull packs is up or slowly gather shop tickets which aren’t exactly accessible anymore especially with the cap put on the amount you receive from thanks every day. Summary - I’m getting bored and might end up leaving the game one day never to reopen it, but at least it was fun while it lasted..Version: 1.0.7
Good, but there are some issues.I like the overall concept and design, so I gave the game a 5 star despite my issues with it. For one, battling can only really be done with normal types combined with one other singular type. This means that decks will have to be "psychic", "fighting", "grass", etc. That does not leave a lot of wiggle-room for freely optimizing a deck. It is a liability to add in different types because of the way that the energy system works. Besides that, certain types are more powerful than others. For example, the combination of Mewtwo EX and gardevoir guarantees 150 attack power each turn. Gardevoir should 100% be nerfed. A good nerf would be if she only gathered extra energy to herself when she's in the active position and couldn't give it to her teammates when on the bench. The way it works currently, it is simply too overpowered for the psychic types. Also, if not that, the dark types should be buffed. The overpowered psychic deck would be less of a problem if the dark types had some strong pokemon; however, the dark deck is severly lacking in versatility and power. Another issues I had was that I basically finished the solo part in 2 days, and there is a lack of satisfaction in playing pvp. Perhaps it would be better if I was working towards something, but I understand that the game is new and that updates will likely be added in the future to expand upon the current content. My main issue would be the balancing, but it is still a fun game. Also, it is incredibly free-to-play friendly which I can appreciate. I'll likely continue playing until I fully 100% the solo area, but I'll likely stop when I finish all the currently available content..Version: 1.0.6
Great take on pokemonLove this game. I have been collecting and playing pokemon for a decade now and but I have stopped playing TCG online since the migration. This was because of power creep(newer cards are stronger in every way making older cards irrelevant), all my old digital cards Ex and down getting deleted for some reason, and the lack of variety in battle since the decks you receive at the start are competitive enough to where you don’t have to make a deck thus, causing you to battle the same decks over. What I like about this game and what makes it different from TCG live is it takes power creep out entirely and it has good strategic variety even though there are only three booster packs. Another great thing about this game is that it’s friendly to newcomers while still being appealing to an experienced audience. My friends from school that have never played a game of pokemon in their life are easily learning how to play with this game while I can experiment with many different strategies. If the pokemon card game in general followed the way this game is being represented(with normal battle rules), it could really revolutionize pokemon and open up more creativity. With that being said, I’m excited to see what this games’ future holds and how it will influence the community..Version: 1.0.7
Give a bad review and see!If you give a review of 2 stars or lower, in ranked matches you will face near-impossible outcomes! I gave a bad review, then had to update my review to 1 star. After reviewing negatively, you’ll face opponents with better AND worse decks, and regardless of how you play your opponent will pull perfect-perfect cards in the most unlikely scenarios at a so-close-to-impossible rate that it is laughable. you can corner your opponent into 1 or 2 cards to even have a chance or for the win over you, they will just pull the perfect cards over and over again! Having a 50% win rate and losing all the way down to a 44% win rate was brutal to go through, and losing 43/50 games in a row with meta decks is classic! I just wanted to get into the top 10,000 rankings. Losing 9 games in a row TWICE, with one game in between (1-18) could seem like a skill problem. That is until you consider that based on the number of cards in the opponents hand and which ones they would need to pull to counter the next 3-4 moves I could make with my hand, opponents will legitimately walk right into direct multi-turn counters and pulls, often in an order that would be poor unless the cards were pulled in that order. The game really does feel like how I imagine communism to be! Bad rating!.Version: 1.2.0
Simple and AddictiveI don’t leave reviews very often, so this is already a big statement on its own. As an avid pokemon tcg collector and player myself, being able to easily collect and play pokemon cards whenever I want for free is huge. However, I was always bad at deckbuilding and playing compared to others I played with irl due to the sheer number of expansions and overpowered win conditions. This game makes it much easier, with every aspect of collecting and battle having a reduced magnitude that makes gameplay more straightforward. There aren’t a lot of cards to worry about in the base expansion, overall weaker cards, and fewer game mechanics to factor into battle like no energy cards and no prize cards. I also really like the many novel mechanics this game offers to the table, such as wonder picks allowing you to randomly collect another player’s card from their last booster pack, and thanking players after battles and wonder picks for free rewards, giving a strong vibe of a friendlier community, a problem I have with other mobile games like clash royale. Tldr, this game makes collecting and playing pokemon tcg more streamlined and provides a stripped-down battle system that satisfies players like me who can’t deckbuild around every aspect of the game very well..Version: 1.0.5
A great refresh of the TCG for mobile.I gotta say, this caught me by surprise just how much I was going to end up playing this game. I grew up playing traditional format TCG (6 prizes, 60 card decks) and with this game, now it’s 20 card decks and 3 points (in place of prizes). Yea, the game is simplified to an extent, and I thought this would be a bad thing, but having just 20 cards and 3 points makes games move FAST, and I mean that in the best way possible. You don’t have to play a 20 minute game waiting to get setup. With just 20 card decks, you get the cards needed a lot faster, and as such, games are quick, explosive, and to the point. It’s a lot of fun. My only issue (for the moment anyway) is there just being one set right now, and the bigger thing, this game isn’t like real life packs where you can buy any pack of a set with whatever art on it because every pack is random anyway. In this game, each individual’pack’ is its own set essentially. The “Pikachu” pack has its exclusive cards, the “mewtwo” pack has its cards, and the “Charizard” has its own exclusive cards. If you’re coming from the traditional game, you should know this when you start playing, incase you want a specific card, you’ll have to look up which booster pack it comes in. Beyond that though, I think this is a great start to getting the TCG right on mobile..Version: 1.0.5
Phenomenal game, just some complaints with the premiumI have played Pokemon TCG Pocket from the day it released, even bought premium for 2 months. I believe this has opened up the Pokemon trading card game to new heights. The accessibility to new fans is not to be understated I really think you guys did great with the game design and flow. I do believe the premium is not a bang for your buck purchase, I feel the 1 extra pack a day is the only feature I really enjoyed. $10 for an extra pack and an extra 10-20 tasks that I get completed within the first 3 days. There is not enough content to justify a 9.99/month subscription fee, I would happily pay for it if it provided more benefits, perhaps more regular shop tokens from completing tasks, more pack points given from each pack open, less trade points required for trades, and plenty of other QOL features that would make this a great mobile trading card game with excellent worth-while transactions. There is no pay to win involved as people still need to learn the cards they pull, and just because they can pull more packs doesn’t mean the luck/rng will be on their side. I would happily pay for the premium if just a few more things were provided. I appreciate what you have done with this property regardless, thanks for reading if you did, keep up the great work!.Version: 1.2.0
Good stuffI was waiting for a digital pokemon TCG game for some time and here we are. I mean this game is still fresh and there seems to be a lot of room to be desired like adding more game modes or a lot more packs to choose from or more events like championship cups and ranked matches. But as of Right now the game feels a bit basic and a bit empty but that doesn't matter much because I'm sure the company will do all they can to add those things for sure later on I feel like that is their plan. It is creatively fun. Although some players might concede when they are about to lose, I really wished that kind of vibe was not present in the game. I say The devs could add a timer to the concede button where when the players are far into the battle and then the concede button becomes locked, but then again players might leave the game as well. So I also have another suggestion which the devs could change the reward system so that even if the players lose the fight they'll still be rewarded to lower that kind of vibe a bit it's not healthy for the game in the long run. I love to see companies putting passion into their games like this. Keep at it. And thanks for making a game like this for us Nintendo and Pokemon fans who wanted degital Pokemon TCG..Version: 1.0.6
DecentOpening the card packs has been pretty fun so far, I’ve been playing for about 4 months now and it’s exciting with all the events and everything but there’s just a few issues I have with the game. Trading; I think it’s a little unfair that we can’t trade 2 stars or higher. Those are honestly the only cards I’m looking for when I log on to open my 2 free packs or when I occasionally look at the wonder picks. Since I’ve been playing for awhile, I have almost all the common and lower tier cards but I feel like it’s impossible with the odds this game has to get the cards you want. Wonder Picks; This aspect of the game is cool but the odds are terrible. 8/10 times when I’m doing a wonder pick, the cards I’m going for stay in the same spot. They don’t even shuffle around and it makes me so annoyed when the cards are revealed just to see they didn’t move. Also there’s multiple days that go by without any higher tiered cards in the wonder picks, just all common. So most times I log into the game I’ll just ignore the wonder pick tab or only do them for quests. Pack Odds; Now I understand that there’s a lot of different cards but with the recent release of the Triumphant Light packs, I have only opened the new pack since it came out at the end of February. Why am I getting so many repeat 1 stars? The only 1 star I can seem to pull is Shaymin and I have about 5 copies now. There’s so many other 1 stars to get from that pack but for some reason the game just doesn’t want me to have them. It would be nice if there was a way to make any of these aspects better, I know there’s other people that feel the same way..Version: 1.1.2
Unreasonable Versus BalanceThe game itself has been fun. There has been an ongoing issue with packs just constantly giving terrible pulls all the time. A friend of mine and I have gone weeks on end without getting a decent pull, where prior we’d see decent pulls frequently enough to keep ourselves happy. I don’t Expect it to be all the time, as I don’t get that in real life, but the rate changes drastically all of a sudden and it became a while different feeling and less enjoyable. Beyond that, the new event came out and I decided to try my hand at the versus battles. I’ve done a few here and there during non-event times and won some and lost some, but never felt they were unfair. Every single match I am being matched against people who already have all of the top level badges in the event, are much higher level than me, and are way more stacked in their decks. To the point the event is just flat out not fun. It is completely unenjoyable. There is no balancing and this is something that should be done by the devs. They should know that there are going to be varying levels of skill, and when someone is already beating everybody else with all medals in the first day of the event within hours of it starting those people should be matched against each other, not someone with no medals. A tiered system, or a system based on ranking/brackets would be a benefit..Version: 1.0.9
Great game! Few small issues. The game is really fun, and is a nice twist on the conventional tcg format, but there’s a few things that are a little off. First, the game simultaneously has way too many tutorials and not enough at all. For your first 30 minutes of playing the game you will be doing nothing but spamming through tutorials. This is obviously in an attempt to let you know everything in the game, but it usually is far too detailed for anyone who knows what a Pokémon is. While it does this however, you get tons of resources, and you have almost no clue what to do. The game on download is a bombardment of random things Nintendo found important. After this, the game gets into a fun gameplay loop, similar to wordle. The problem with this is that the shop is limited on the amount of hourglasses it will sell you. This ends up eventually leading to a drought where you are barely opening any packs, which is what most people like to do the most, getting new cards is always fun after all. There’s also a bug I found where if you open a pack backwards, and you get two of the same card, the first one won’t say new but the second one will, as if you had opened the pack from the front. Overall, great game that I am very addicted to, but it has a few things I would change..Version: 1.0.7
Can’t wait for tradesGreat game it just needs more missions for dailies and when battling I have whole matches where I won’t get heads or the energy needed for the Pokémon I’m using sometimes I won’t even get basic evolutions or the evolutions I need and it’s not bad deck building at this point it’s like the game doesn’t want me to fight back lol for instance all I needed was one psychic energy and or one water type Pokémon and instead I get 20 water energies and no sphychic energy till the end of the battle and somehow no water type in hand so explain why all the last cards that I couldn’t get to were the water Pokémon plus I think it’s a little unnecessary for in beginner league someone to be able to place two legendary birds that both have the ability to give three fire energies to benched Pokemon for only one fire energy and it doesn’t get depleted so they can consistently get an unnecessary amount of fire energy for two charzards that have an attack that can wipe any Pokémon in the game with one hit it’s a broken deck build to say the least especially when the game won’t even allow the misty card that gives up to three water energy to give me more than one so far out of the almost week of using it for me at least the odds of ever getting heads might as well be in the negatives somewhere..Version: 1.0.9
Not f2p friendly! No Card Crafting? UninstalledThe game is pretty fun been playing for a while, only two complaints is there is no CARD CRAFTING system, and the game just added away for you to pay for gold, and a premium pass without any f2p support at all. You can only put two copies of a card in your deck, so there’s no point in having more than two copies of any card. A card crafting system should be added to let you break down cards for materials to craft other cards, this would still benefit whales but f2p players wouldn’t feel so bad about pulling dupes, as you would actually be able to use them . I understand the game is still pretty new, but MASTER DUEL and even DUEL LINKS have had these options for players at launch, there’s also no alternative ways to gain cards whatsoever outside of the pack hourglass summon and the wonder hour glass witch is complete nonsense most of if not all of the cards from the wonder picks would most likely be cards you already have when you’ve played the game for about a week. Also a serious lack of content, the events are just regular pvp battles no point in them making it completely separate sense there’s no unique battle rules or anything. Will definitely be UNINSTALLING until there is some sort of update that allows you to at least craft other card using the extra copies of cards..Version: 1.0.8
Cute app hampered by obnoxious designFirst off, I do like that there's a digital version of this game. It's mostly focused around collecting, but the battle mode isn't bad, despite the way it was simplified being overly punishing anyone trying to build multitype decks (the energy allocation is entirely automatic, which.... I should be able to at least opt in to adjusting that, the automatic allocation is not good at what it does), and the way you can move the card renders around does a great job of selling pulling a holographic card and wiggling it to see it shine. The problem is in the other parts of it. The quests section is incredibly laggy, with multi-second delay between pressing the button for it and it loading, the touch interface just doesn't work consistently enough for the long movements opening a booster or flipping a coin requires (I have had the same movement on my end just fail to register as a booster opening five times across two packs), and getting to the point of opening a booster pack requires like five button presses and a long drag (that, again, doesn't consistently work) to finally see your cards. It's super obnoxious and makes the core part of the app more annoying to deal with. It's also a super money-hungry f2p but if you were expecting anything less from a digital version of cardboard gacha idk what to tell you..Version: 1.1.2
Not Bad, But FlawedI’ve been playing since release and I’m a premium account player. I have like 3000 cards every promo and love the collecting portion of the game. On the other hand, the battling is garbage. Absolute garbage. I don’t understand how I’m so consistently unlucky. On a 2 flip coin toss, never think at least one will be heads. Always double tails ALWAYS. Celebi with the 12 coin toss, 4 heads outta 12. Out of 20 cards in a deck how am I always drawing 2nd & 3rd forms and my basics are ALL on the bottom or vice-versa, my final forms will always be on the bottom. The game is sentient and refuses to ever give me an edge. I don’t even do PvP battles anymore because something about the battling constantly feels rigged and I KNOW what I’m doing. I play Pokemon TCG all the time for like 25yrs. Going FIRST in a match is essentially “you’re going to lose” having an edge on the first energy is absolutely essential to avoid getting wrecked, but the game really wants you to go first. Like it REALLY wants you to go first, because it KNOWS being second is advantageous….sick. I hate this game more and more every week. Trading is hilarious, I thought it was going to be the real reason to play this game but nah. Trading was also just released and OF COURSE Pokemon company makes it super convoluted and requires currency and you have to earn the right to trade rarer cards. Pokemon company is run by greedy losers with no brains and I’m tired of being nickel and dimed from this company who’s consistently released mediocre content for over the last 10yrs..Version: 1.1.1
Scratches an itch. This game scratches the pack opening and collection itch. Besides the usual card art, there are some interactive elements, such as the foil effect, the flairs you can add, and finally the interactive art cards which give you a whole cutscene of behind the frame. I really enjoyed this, although at the time of review the number of these cards was very limited and due to their rarity they were hard to acquire. There are some basic battling systems which is okay for me. I’m a fan of how this game makes it easier to open free packs and build your collection over the Live version which is very stingy with their free packs. Still, I wish there were more random cpu battles rather than choosing your theme to fight. The game does have some downsides though. Once you’ve spent your 10 minutes a day doing everything, there’s little else to do. Events are a good addition, but aren’t much more than another version of what’s already there. Wonder Pick is frustratingly useless and expensive. The point buy for basic commons and uncommon is way too high for how slow you get them, making it frustratingly difficult to round out your collection. Update: Trading is needlessly expensive and complicated for no reason. This is looking to be another Nintendo game of infinite hoops to jump through for little benefit. Knocking off a star for this..Version: 1.1.0
