Addicting!This game is PACKED, and isn’t a cash grab like most games, there’s no many ways to get items and characters, and grinding is actually super fun and can get addicting! I found myself saying “just one more game” and playing for hours. I preordered the game and have been waiting for over a year, and it was so worth the wait! The animations are so pretty, and voice acting is amazing! If you love Madoka magica or just want a new game to play I recommend it! It tells the whole story for people that need a refresher or just don’t wanna watch the anime. I felt like I was watching Madoka magica again for the first time, and since the movie comes out this year, this is a great and entertaining way to refresh your memory. Fun, but dealing with frequent crashing since latest updateEver since the most recent update the game has been crashing constantly, seemingly at random. Every time I open up the Style Ticket trader the game freezes and then crashes. Every time I do a link raid battle I crash several times during it, thankfully I can resume the battle but it’s extremely frustrating needing to reopen the app and wait for it to load again to resume a battle, and the fact that this happens several times during a single battle is frustrating. Also, ever since the Crystalis update, every time I unlock an EX Crystalis during a battle the game crashes while playing the Crystalis animation. It does not crash when unlocking a non EX Crystalis. This issue has happened before the constant crashing. I’m enjoying the game a ton, I’ve played since launch, but the crashes have become unbearable and make it near impossible for me to play the game. I want to enjoy the game, but it’s so frustrating crashing at random with seemingly no patterns determining why I’d crash (aside from the consistent crashing with the Style Ticket trader + EX Crystalis) I would give the game a five star if it weren’t for the crashing. Want to love this game more but the monetization/drop rates are horridI absolutely love madoka magica and have for over a decade now, and magia record used to be one of my favorite games. After playing other similar games over the years and this game releasing, i have definitely noticed an issue with this game specifically that was also in magia record. The three star characters and monetization. The three stars are completely useless and do not even have ultimate abilities, hindering you in combat. The drop rates for the 5 star characters you actually want are WAYYY too low. .075% to get what I actually want? Lets break this down real quick. $17 is 3,000 gems, so about 10 pulls. Just to possibly get one character you want, you are looking at spending $170-$250 to “get lucky” and hope you get what you are wanting. I actually spend way too much money on microtransactions in videogames and usually can defend most microtransactions but this is incredibly aggressive and ridiculous. Oh, and dont forget you actually are supposed to collect each character 5 times to “ascend” them so they are stronger. So really like, $1,200 for a maxed out character in this game? Just your rent payment lol. Not to mention that the characters are only in shop until April 9th? Then the boosted rates to get them are just gone for good? Horrible monetization and again this is coming from someone who has probably spent $500 on overwatch skins over the years and already like $200+ on tcg pocket. I cant validate this though at all. Very repetitive, a terrible pity system, and many network issues.I really wanted to love this game, but the repetitiveness gets to you quick. Each level feels the same, and there’s no gimmicks to make you want to do actually play the game. Many turn-based games have a bit of an over world and/or unique puzzles to solve. This game has neither, which makes it easy to not want to go into a level. Not to mention, half of the time I cannot load into the game. Whenever I am able to load in, there’s so many minuscule loading screens that take minutes to load. Finally, the pity system is terrible. You have to pull 20 times (60,000 gems) to be garunteed a character on the banner. That’s very unrealistic for many players, even for whales that’s a bit much. With how quickly banners are coming and going (from what we’ve seen so far) the precedent isn’t very good. Overall, the games needs to be more interactive so players don’t get tired of the same thing over and over again. Adding one special thing in the background that gives 100 gems is not enough, in my opinion. Not to mention, fixing the pity system to be more realistic would be amazing. ReviewTo be honest, it’s actually good! I would like to put it out there that the loading screen is amazing, the trailer was sick and I really liked it. It was so action packed, however, do not be fooled as the entire vibe of the game changes once you play it. It doesn’t necessarily give the same eerie vibes of Madoka Magica, it gives more of a “slice of life” and “adventure” tale, similar to the Elaina the Wandering Witch or Maquia but without Maquia’s child. The story telling felt a bit rushed, it was 90% tutorial, 10% actual storytelling, but this was only about 30 minutes into the game. It gets better, I guess? Maybe? But it gets less progressive between here and there. My biggest issue has to be the animations though. I get that it IS hard to make smooth 3D animations, but I think they’re just a “little” choppy. Since the team isn’t too experienced within 3D animations, however, then I’d say that it’s pretty well done. Would’ve preferred if they had better animators, or at least had more experience to smoothen out everything. The VFX that comes along with the animation too… that’s just all over the place. There are some character ultimates that are solid; the characters have smooth-ish animations and the VFX is timed perfectly well. However, within the batch come some that are very… hard to watch. Yachiyo is a prime example of this “hard to watch” batch. The beginning gives a lot of promise, but then the follow-up upwards becomes choppy and messy, and following the entire ult… it ends with a mess. The VFX are everywhere, the final explosion is timed too early or misplaced, and the VFX look like preset blender “wind explosion” effects. Would’ve given it 5* if not for the batch though. LOVE LOVE LOVE!! :3I love this game so much however I can only rate it one star for some issues. The game is super fun and enjoyable if you love the Madoka Magica Puella and Magia Record series HOWEVER the gacha rates aren't great... If you want to get your favorite character then good luck, the game uses a spark system meaning they don't have a pity system or any garuntee that your next five star you will pull will be the one the banner is advertising. In order to garuntee you get the character you want is by saving enough in-game currency to "spark" the character that you want (which is about 600k gems...) The gacha system is a pain unless you're extremely lucky. Additionally, grinding for you kikou (characters) is a bit limiting as there is a daily limit you get to grind. There are still events, main story levels, and other achievements that will provide you these mats but usually they aren't enough if you're trying to max out a character. Other than those two issues, I personally enjoy this game so much and I truly recommend this to people who also enjoy Madoka Magica :D.LlabratoriVersion: 1.3.1

Really Fun for Pastime and immersion of StoryI enjoy the game for what it is and it is still in its early stages of release which is exciting to see where the game goes from here, many players are already high level compared to where I am and I am enjoying the game at my own pace. However it is a bit disappointing that certain characters are advised to be had just to complete higher level missions in which you’re also told to reroll your account just to get those said characters as the game has a sort of Cap of you don’t have them or at least one of the 5 star characters. Nonetheless the game is still enjoyable and in my opinion beginner Friendly. If you’ve watched the anime then this game might be really enjoyable if you like Turn based combat and an upgrading system. I happened to find out about this game a few days ago before it launched, as I was seeing what new anime games were out. I did not know a new Madoka Magica one was in the works, so I was pleasantly surprised. I played Magia Record a few years ago and was disappointed when it was taken down. Anyways for people who are thinking about downloading this game, it’s worth it. Since it just launched there are many free items you can get, and it is easy to farm the story and events. Since the game has just launched there isn’t that big of a selection of characters yet; however, if it follows in the path of Magia Record or other anime games, there will be event banners. Can’t Open App Anymore…I normally don’t write reviews, but it’s the only way I can think of to maybe get help from the devs. So, I used to play this game daily and loved it! It was super fun to level up my kioku and battle other players and try to get in the top 10, which I almost did this season! But… Recently, my iPad refused to open the game… Every time I tried, it would show a black screen for one second, then boot me out of the app. I’ve tried everything I can think of, rebooting the iPad, checking for updates, ensuring the app was closed then trying again, plugging the iPad in then trying again, and I’m at a loss. I do have an older iPad, an iPad 7 to be exact, so not exactly new and it could be that my iPad is simply too old to run the app anymore. I was just wondering if there’s anything the devs can do to help. Heck, even helping me sync up my account and load it onto Steam would work! Hope & DespairBig fan of the series so it's so nice to have this game. The event and side stories, and the music are of course amazing. Going through the labyrinths are fun too. Was so excited for this game! However, the cost of pulls is ridiculous, especially since the rates are bad, and there is no 50/50 or pity system. 10 pulls is 3k gems, and limited character guarantee costs 60k gems... so unless you're willing to spend a lot of money, the chances of getting who you want is very low. With the release rewards and when you start out there is a decent amount of income and you can get quite a few random 5* ,and hopefully get the ones you want if you're lucky... but after you complete most of the story & battle modes, daily income is hardly noticeable even with both daily passes(because there are two and it's $22 a month for them). If you're f2p expect to save past multiple reruns for characters. It's a very costly game, and doesn't seem like it's meant to last long. Kyubey must be running things..Gigi♥Version: 1.1.0

Love to have this back but could improveI’m someone who’s been playing since original Magia Record, and it feels good to have my girls back, but there are definitely a lot of areas that could use some improvement such as better rewards down the road, especially since it takes a long time to get 3000 gems and it’s only this generous because it just launched. The pull rates are very rough to deal with as well. I would like something where we could interact more with the girls like have our own room we can customize with items we can get from events and whatnot. The gameplay and voice acting are great overall and it feels nice to revisit some things we may have forgotten from before. Gameplay Meh, Rest AmazingThe opening animation for this game had me HYPED. Great song and really cool. But it didn’t really deliver… So yeah Madoka Magica is an amazing story. I would definitely recommend you watch it first because the game has like the entire thing recreated in a less immersive and dynamic way. The music is also really good, and the graphics are very solid. But the gameplay is still just meh, and it seems like the gacha is probably pretty stingy too, although of course 1 day isn’t really enough to say. Basically it feels like Heaven Burns Red with a different story. Even some of the characters use a similar art style. But the gameplay is just… not interesting. It’s not locked on autoplay or anything but there’s just not much strategy, not much adaptability, not much really. Also if you’ve only seen PMMM you’ll be surprised by how much fanservice some of the characters from other lesser known parts of the Puella Magi universe have. It’s not like, Azur Lane levels or anything but it’s also not the wholesome non-sexual you’re used to. The 12+ is there for a reason. Idk maybe the event and side stories will be really good or something who knows. So yeah, not a horrible game by any means but… just watch PMMM. Then find something else to do with your time. A great Madoka Magica game that could be improved.I really love this game that has far exceeded Magia Record for animation and gameplay. The only thing keeping it from a full four stars is that the upgrade system could be better. I’m at the point where I can get all varieties of gems and Growth Enhancement for my Kioku but I don’t not like that the orbs are an in-store only item that never restocks and new ones only come in limited amounts and only when there’s a new limited-time event, meaning that you have to wait a month while your Kioku are still too weak to take on the main story enemies. Also the Fate Weave feature functions like loot boxes and it’s common to spend a lot of hard-earned gems and real-world money in order to get the Five-Star Kioku you want, even if the draw rate for specific ones are higher. Great graphics, and you can tell the developers put a lot of effort into the gameThe graphics really are great. A lot of the initial storyline is exactly what happens in the show, so you’re not out of the loop in how everything unfolds. You collect pictures/memories to help yourself “remember” who you are, and as you progress you see a lot of the storyline based off of the anime. The overall genre of the game is a gacha/turn-based autobattler, so it has to be your cup of tea to continue playing. I’m a fan of the show and I think this game is a very nice extension of it! The tutorial is a lot longer than what would be considered standard, which I usually would dislike, but the transitions to scenes between gameplay makes it worth it to keep playing through, and makes the time pass quickly; it didn’t feel like a chore at all.PrestonALewisVersion: 1.0.1

Favorite game right nowI’ve genuinely never enjoyed a game more than this. I’ve played since release and I’ve NEVER got tired of it! I enjoy how alot of fights are actually challenging with specific mechanics that you have to follow if you even want A CHANCE of beating. Keeps the game from feeling brain dead imo. On top of that, the developers constantly listen to the community, adding more QoL every single update that makes the game SO MUCH better than it already is. Lovely game, some opinions (massive edit)Like I had said in my original review; not sure if it even posted honestly but I said the game was pretty but needed worked on with the gatcha aspect. Now with the newest gatcha, there seems to be a new fall back system! And a very popular one. I personally like it as I’ve gotten to 50 pulls with nothing given so that gives you at least something! It also feels like the rates might’ve gone up a little bit for the 5 stars? Not sure but that’s what I’m thinking. I am personally looking forward to getting more magical girls and storyline. Thank you from the fansIf there was ever a “love letter” to fans, i think this game would be it. All the lore, characters, music, everything with the franchise seems like it will be in this game. Its like an encyclopedia for the franchise. The gameplay is not very complex, but its easy to learn and difficult to master. The devs seemed to listen to magia record’s problems, in some cases even overcorrecting, but its clear they are listening. Defense is way too strong early for both the player and the monsters, but it does get better later on and the strategic depth also develops with higher difficulty. Lovely, but difficult to bingeI picked this up for the day only--as a fan of the series who is winding down on gacha, I'm just not allowing myself to keep these games on my devices. What I saw though was a very lovely addition to the Madoka franchise. The script in the main story path reads cleanly, graphics and music perform well in a way that keep scenes investing, and the new plot devices (the main character and A-Q) are actually provoking. Unfortunately, you don't get to stop and smell the roses in this game, as the player is constantly interrupted between levels to check out more menus. It also forces you to look closely and click around where you may need to backtrack for treasure, unlike other games of a similar build showing you in the UI just how many treasures are missing from which ares. The skip feature in the Upgrades game is awesome though. It doesn't force you to spend time rewatching the beating of a dead horse. While some elements reminded me more of SiNoAlice or Nier ReIncarnation or even deemo, the game already seems like it's ready to grow into something distinct down the line. MADOKA!!!!!I am a new Puella Magi Madoka Magica fan! I love the story and Madoka, our adorable main character. She has such a cute face, and is a little bundle of kindness and hope. Plus her magical girl outfit is the cutest. I am reading the manga right now, and am going to watch the anime even though Crunchyroll only has the English dub. When I saw Magia Exedra, I preordered immediately. When the game downloaded, I had to wait until the official launch on the 27th to play it but it was worth the wait. Magia Exedra has amazing graphics, good storyline, good animation, and good voice acting. The combat is turn based, but the special attack animations make it fun. What an interesting concept for a Madoka game, having u be a magical girl who lost herself and the only way to restore herself is by gathering the memories of magical girls. Absolutely a blastSo far I w been truly enjoying the game and experience. It feels familiar like I’m back in the world of Madoka Magica, while having its own story that connects in with everything yet remains on original story and the game has even further original stories within. Fun mechanics, but…It feels like progression takes a really long time—lots of things are locked to only a few attempts a day, and there isn’t really a great way to earn gems. I’ve played every day, dong all the daily tasks and quests, but I feel like I only get a chance to a pull maybe once a week. And since the banners go by so fast, they’re usually gone well before I can get the character I want. Other gacha games I’ve played seem to be a lot more generous with giving you pull stems. The battles themselves are great, I just feel like there’s not much reward. Instead of getting stronger for finishing fights, the system feels more like do all the daily quests to get stronger, do battles until you get stuck, wait 5 hours for your energy to refill so you can do more upgrade quests, repeat. Amazing gameI really like the quality and all the details that really reflect onto the show. I love how easily you can be caught up with the story without needing to even watch the show as well! This game also is not that laggy considering me playing it on high quality! So far it seems like there’s a lot to do and the game doesn’t seem boring at all since there’s a lot of new characters and stories to unlock so I absolutely loveee it <3 The animations are very smooth and pretty and so are the new magical girls! Great game but…I’m currently enjoying this game, especially since I’m a fan of Madoka Magica. I’ve watched the anime and one of the movies, Rebellion. While playing the game, I’ve noticed a character that made me do a double-take and look in complete confusion. The reason for my confusion was this character’s clothing , which I found inappropriate and uncomfortable to look at. Initially, my impression of the anime was that all the characters were adolescent girls who were minors, approximately 12-16 years old. But I am not starting to question that too. Which is why I was so appalled to see the character Reira Ibuki, who I assumed was just walking around in her underwear as a form of fan service that had gone too far, considering the characters look like children. I did a bit digging on Reira Ibuki to see where she came from, as I haven’t watched Magica Record yet. I discovered that she originated from her previous games, Magica Story (I think that’s the name). I’m curious about the reason behind this design choice, as it makes me feel uncomfortable. I hope more people bring this to attention because it doesn’t sit right with me. To clarify, I mean no disrespect in this review. Beautiful Story Driven Game!Only issue I had was when I first downloaded it wouldn’t advance further than the title screen—- had to go to support menu and clear cache and afterwards worked fine! The game is plenty generous to newcomers to assure that you get a sturdy team; the amount of gems given especially now it being new! I believe everyone is still guaranteed to get Madoka for event too! Love getting to dive into so many of the Girls’ backstories and it really rounds them out. It’s nice that the game allows for both semi and full-auto battle actions (excluding boss battles*)! Another suggestion(s).1. Improve auto AI. Make it so defenders won't use their battle skill if theres already a barrier/shield up on allies. Make it so proximity attacks don't target to the edge on 2 targets when they can hit 3 targets. 2. Make mami's magic bar show action advance on the left side bar of turns when its about to be filled up. 3. I notice speed up and speed down status effects show slight action delay/advance on the turns list but only if the enemy/ally didn't have the status effect beforehand but it still shows, don't make it show if the enemy/ally already has the status effect. 4. (Fun) It would be cool if you added a kioku that makes use of the double-action (like nightmare witches) ability because you guys are putting out gimmicky characters. Or maybe an inverse glasses homura kioku that gives a passive speed debuff to enemies as her ability and her battle skill action delaying them! 5. I think there should totally be a trading system! How it'd work is you'd just place one kioku in ur part of the trade for another kioku or gem amount. kiokus taken from you should deduct from ascensions as well!.VuonnnnVersion: 2.9.1

Love my girls!When the last mobile game’s servers were turned off in the US I was so sad! So when I saw a new game coming out I pre downloaded it and was overjoyed when it was available to play. From the previous game, this is a huge improvement in game mechanics and explainers. It’s much easier to pick up on the strategy part of the game and leveling up characters is more accessible and getting some of the more unique and rare fate weaves feels less of a constant disappointment on draws. The voice acting and music is also just as great as before and reliving the original Madoka story has been a huge treat. I love all my girls, they’re dynamic special attacks, and adorable costumes. The Orb’s Need To be More common/Wish Chances are TerribleI’ve been playing this game a fair bit and I will admit even though I like it the Wish Granting system and leveling up system are my biggest issues I spent over 70,000 Gems To draw for Sayaka Miki and I did not get her and yet I could still gain 5 Star characters that weren’t her, That is not a good setting as I could literally pull for a character I want and result in not getting the very character I wanted but just some other 5 Star or Even a duplicate of a 5 star I already have And the elemental orbs are the biggest problem as you cannot earn them through basic mean’s yourself And there isn’t anywhere in the Resource missions to gain these orbs and if your leveling up Your characters? They haven’t learned from their mistakesIt is so hard to get any gems even if you do all the events, clear the main story, and do most things this game has to offer. And they suddenly drop a new Mami banner with no warning beforehand. The games is also really unfriendly to f2p players as they progress through the main story with it not giving enough gems for even one pull. It’s scummy and it’s obvious what the devs are doing and laughable that they think it’s going to work in any capacity. I love this game!!!I love this game however my one complaint that makes me not give it 5 stars is that in battle and in the character voices it doesn’t have subtitles in battle and in the magical girl voice section where you have the option to see their info, read a story of their’s and hear their voice lines, so I am sadly unable to understand the characters fully when they they are speaking because I unfortunately do not understand Japanese at this moment, but otherwise I love the gameplay and am glad to play a new game for my favorite series! I LOVE IT!!If I’m being totally honest I’m not usually one for turn based games, I’m more of an open world adventure game enjoyer. BUT they’ve done a WONDERFUL job on this game in my opinion. Game for the fansThe entire story so far is a recap of the movies. Likely to get us all more hyped for the 4th movie hopefully releasing this year. There is no energy to complete stages like in other gatcha games and it is a massive boon. Eventually progress does slow down since you need to complete other content to power up. The game isn’t very difficult so far pve-wise. PvP is an auto-battler. Set up what you think with do best without your input and pray. I hit the skip button and hope since pvp matches can take ages to watch. It needs some tweaking but it is very much not the main focus of the game. The animations are gorgeous and if you are a fan of the anime/movies you will love this. I highly recommend the movies over the anime, they recap the story anyway. The anime suffers from too much filler which the movies fix. The best part about this release is that they have added every soundtrack from the movie series to be unlocked in game. My fav anime!!Great and beautiful game, im currently lv 40, just worried about long term gacha currency, game seems to give out little diamonds/magica stones imo, but then, there is only character pulling, no shards, no equipment. The passes are more pricier than I’d like as well for what they gave. I also don’t like the limit on playing Events as it has its own daily stamina. I still love the gameplay and visuals! I love these girls so muchOne thing to consider. During every event buy out all the orbs from the trader. You can’t create or get them from the upgrading battles so if you run out you’re just gonna have to wait like a whole month unless another event comes out. I love this game. After release I spent like a whole month and then some trying to get through every level that’s available. Once you’ve done everything though it kinda just turns into doing a bunch of upgrades for the kioku and learning their stories (which is done via upgrades). Right now we get some side stories about the quartet that help the experience feel a bit fresh. Most of the side stories are nice. For someone that has watched the anime the memsparks for the main story can feel like a bit of a drag because it is just the main show but in visual novel format. But it’s also not like you need to read the whole bit in order to their rewards because you can skip them and read them later if you really wanted to. I love the gallery where I can look at all the stuff. I like being able to get a closer look at the labyrinths, the witches and their familiars. That was the main thing that drove me to complete the nightmare versions of each story. Magia Record is also one of the featured stories. It’s only up to the Anonymous Ai story but I think there will be more. I watched the anime first and a part of me wonders if this is just a polished rerelease of Magia Record’s mobile app game that shut its servers down at least for America. I don’t mind it but the story featured in this current game doesn’t mirror the anime and I think some of the choices the anime made were good if this is what the original story was like. I’m hoping for a level or something concerning the wraith arc because I don’t really know anything about it. This game is fun. I like it a lot. A REAL review on the gameThe game is pretty boring after some time because the only gameplay is the turn based fights, even in events it doesn’t change. it takes AWHILE to grind just for 3000 gems/ a 10 spin, for people who haven’t played you can skip levels in battler mode/basically level after normal mode. The network issueI downloaded Magica Exedra with high hopes, but I can’t even get past the title screen due to a persistent “network error.” No matter what I try—switching Wi-Fi, using mobile data, reinstalling the app—it won’t connect. After doing some research, I realized this isn’t just a random bug. Players from Puerto Rico, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and several other Latin American countries are all reporting the same problem. The game installs just fine, but once opened, it becomes completely unplayable due to region-based server restrictions. What makes this even more frustrating is that I’m in Puerto Rico, which is part of the United States. The game is available for download in both the U.S. App Store and Google Play here, so it’s confusing and misleading that it shows up as available but won’t actually work. If the game isn’t supported in a region, it shouldn’t be listed as accessible—or at the very least, the developers should provide a clear explanation or notice. I’m genuinely a huge fan of Madoka Magica, and I was really excited for this release. This is the only active Madoka Magica game that’s officially available, and it genuinely interested me. So it’s extremely disappointing to finally see a global release, only to be completely locked out without any communication or support. A void of nothingness.This ain’t it. I was really hoping for some more crazy stories about magical girls, but this barely has anything. I played for about 15 hours straight on the day of release, and I’m maybe two thirds of the way through the first major arc, which is 95% just a recap of the anime. There’s a tangential story about a blank player character who’s lost their memories, but it’s barely gone anywhere. It could be going somewhere interesting, but I hate slogging through a massive mire of content. It might as well just not be there. Also, the gacha is absurdly stingy. I mentioned 15 hours of grinding. In that period of time, I got enough currency for 50 pulls. I don’t know how much total main story content is available right now, but I’m guessing that I’ve gotten through about half of it. I’m also at the point where progression is pretty much a wall. There’s a weekly consecutive login reward, and the total it gives you is 250 gems. One pull is 300 gems. For a point of reference, FGO, a game that is slightly on the stingy side of things, gives you two pulls a week, more than twice as much. The pity system also doesn’t cross over between banners, which is less than ideal but not exactly uncommon. Worst of all, some of the pull currencies you can get have an expiration date. That part is insane, and I feel like it’s indicative of the attitude of the entire game. Stick around and grind or else. Well, I’m not convinced there’s anything here worth grinding for. What a disappointment.Overall, the game has its upsides. Graphics are good, original music is good, the battle system is fun, animations are good, story segments are eh but atleast they're skippable if you don't like them (like myself.) however, the game is EXTREMELY stingy on your gems. If you start playing, don't let the sudden inflation of gems fool you because they will run out just as quick. Biggest Disappointment YetAutobattler, 5-stars whose 3d models are off-model to actual design, Franchise-inconsistent tacky art-styles (2d), Dialogue is lifted line for line from the anime, Screenshots from said anime being used for specific 'cutscenes', and easily the worst; Child characters in compromising positions and outfits. Genuinely disgusting. They are catering to the degenerate side of the Madoka Magica fandom to bleed them dry for their cash, and aren't even trying to hide it. Unfortunately, disappointing and poor executionI was so excited when Exedra finally released, I was moved to tears watching the opening animation. I was so excited to have my Ren Isuzu back! However, having played since release, I found the game disappointing. Content is lacking, the story is a repeat, the 3D models have rather stiff animations for their special attacks, and while some of the card art is incredibly beautiful, some of it is tacky and poorly executed (namely, Himika Mao’s, 4-star card art I was the most shocked by, and then Hanna Sarasa’s and Yuma Chitose’s 4-star card art is poor as well as Oriko’s 5-star card art, in my opinion). Meanwhile, the 3-star card art is just reused from Magic Record’s card art. The gacha rates for the amount of magica stones you get are incredibly poor for f2p. The story takes screenshots from the anime sometimes and slaps them in there, and reuses the cutscene art used in Magia Record’s as well. As I mentioned earlier, content is lacking. Once you level up your characters and get through the current content of repeated storyline, there is nothing left for you to do and the game feels dead and empty. While Magia Record had some flaws too, I enjoyed it much more than Exedra. Exedra was poorly executed, with some aspects reflecting as sloppiness and laziness. I am a long time Madoka fan and Magia Record enjoyer. I was so excited for Magia Exedra, but I quickly noticed how apparent the poor execution was. Despite this, I wanted to give it a chance, given how much I love Madoka and how much I miss Magia Record. I can’t believe I am writing this review, since I initially was so happy and hopeful upon seeing a Madoka game that included the characters from Magia Record, suggesting that a new and better game, since Magia Record shutdown, had been created. This game shows promise. The battle is smoother than Magia Record! I like that the premise is retelling the anime and potentially the movie. Having it be told from the perspective of a magic girl who’s lost her memory and trying to regain them by learning about other magic girls is interesting! I was holding off on reviewing but only a few days in, without notice, a new banner is released featuring fan favorite Mami. I love her. What’s problematic though is we’re only a few days into release, Madoka and Homura are still available. This is a shady and predatory money grab tactic. I was very hopeful this game would at least play fair. I’m not looking to spend hundreds of dollars on a game that will only be playable for 2-3 years like the last one. I have Madoka and several other 5 star girls already. I would’ve liked to get a few of the holy quintet, but Mami is limited time until mid April. 2 weeks is ridiculous. I attempted with what I had saved up for Homura, and got the same 5star three times in a row. I know it’s luck of the draw, but at least with Magia Record it was much easier and less pricy to earn enough for several pulls. The login bonus only gets you a single pull for 7 days. Fun but very ClunkyNow I love the Madoka Magica series; I think if you enjoy the series itself you’ll get a lot of mileage from it. The events include a good many retelling of the drama CDs, albeit nothing new aside from the lighthouse itself. This said, if you’re already familiar with them, already consumed them, there’s simply nothing new to look forward to. It’s all retelling—their previous game had a unique story to look into and dive in. This… not so much. The game really suffers from the back to back to back limited banners, which is impossible to catch up with especially as once you reach late game there’s no gems to obtain. There’s no room to breathe nor to even collect. By late game, there’s simply nothing left to do. There’s no way to obtain more energy to continue leveling up, the cap for adding energy and otherwise score attack/towers means you’re rather out of luck if you want to continue grinding for other girls, as there is no replayability. Once you play a battle or round, that’s it. The game is simple, and fun at first. The more you play, the less there is to do. Record, for all its faults, was extremely fun and impossible to put down. It just freezes when on a loading screen, doesn't respond to touch, no nothing, just stays on (any) loading screen, playing the animation. Game looks fun, but is very boringThe game looks great and I’m happy to get a new game after so long, but the gameplay and story of this game is just a drag for me. The gameplay just feels watered down, sluggish, and frustrating. The way you grind and level up characters has a strange progression system where you can only level up a character’s skills at the game’s pace, not your own and materials take a while to get. The PVP mode only allows for 5 plays daily and is only an auto battle where you hope the ai is smart enough to make good decisions. The main battles and labyrinths you traverse are just one or two easy battles that you have to watch your character run through and just press a few buttons. But I will concede that fighting the actual witches are fun because they have interesting strategies you have to use for each one even if it can be challenging depending on your characters (Chair Person witch felt impossible because I only had Oriko for a dps). As for the story, the main story is just recaps of other series with a little bit of dialogue thrown in there by AQ (who is boring) and our MC who while kind of interesting, everything is repetitive with them. I only got up to Magica Record’s story so this could change, but I find myself skipping the stories because it’s just recaps of what happens in the anime. For the original event stories, they are very fast to get through personally even with the time gating. Finally, this game feels poorly optimized as whenever a cutscene loaded, I would have to wait 30 minutes for it to play only for the cool moment to lag. Could just be my internet, but it should not be taking this long. Coupled with the fact that grinding for gems involves doing these tedious tasks over and over again for like 50 gems per level, 500 for completing an entire Labyrinth, the grind is already awful and I’m sure will only get worse when the new game generosity runs out. CostThis might be my opinion, but i've been playing gacha games for 4 years or more. they all give out relatively easy and fun ways to get rewards/pulls. This game makes it impossible and not fun to. With only getting 10 diamonds a battle on the main stories or event stories, or 30 diamonds for actually gameplay, it makes this game underwhelming and unfun. You'd have to do 30 or so battles or stories just to get 1 pull. 300 for a ten pull. This makes the game unfun and makes me tempted to delete it, or not even play it. The gacha system doesn't make sense, with no clear way to view pity of details on what you need to get the characters. It just all seems to be based on chance with no guarantee. I believe this game could be better if you up the rewards you get from the quests and events. This is just very underwhelming and i hope something changes..IvorixyxVersion: 1.1.10

It has promise, but a lot of issuesFor one I’ve noticed this game cannot play well or won’t even work outside of a WiFi network where it’s better to play it on. The story and the gameplay with 3D characters is good, but my biggest issue is how ridiculously unbalanced the PvP is, even challenging lower level characters it seems the game favors those spend lots of money and getting teams of five star characters are more assured to win, which has been most teams I have faced. I who have limited funds to spend built a good team, but once they are broken they do not recover at all leaving them at the mercy of the other team and this doesn’t happen in any other battles making it baffling and unfair so I’ll likely uninstall this unless changes happen which is a shame since I was enjoying it up to that point..MadokaFanVersion: 1.0.1

Game’s good, but stingyGraphics are great, gameplay is kinda fun. Format is excellent for catching up on the series, MagiReco and other manga that aren’t as easily available. But so far there hasn’t been any real original story, and the game is stupidly stingy with gacha currency. The daily logins don’t even net you a single pull’s worth for a week of logins, and IIRC the arena mode doesn’t even give gacha currency, just keys that use the normal pool and expire after a while. They’re also throwing out new banners for big units like crazy! I at least expected Ultimate Madoka to be an anniversary unit but they put her out within like a month or so… Plus I feel it’s missing some of the charm MagiReco had, too. I miss being able to interact with the megucas on the Home Screen, it gave a lot of them some nice moments…._Seiun_Version: 1.3.0

I can’t play the game :(I downloaded the game when it came out but the game just paused I opened the app multiple times it paused at the same time. so i deleted it and downloaded again. Still dosent work. I re-download the game multiple times. I changed my country, got a vpn, etc etc It still did not work. A Huge LetdownI was so excited for Exedra, but it’s been such a disappointment. The gem system is ridiculous- it will take you months and months to save up enough pulls for a single banner, unless you’re willing to spend hundreds of dollars. Once you clear the main story, there are very few sources of income to be had. On top of that, the gacha rates are so skewed that you really need to save enough extra rolls to hit pity more than once, as it’s unlikely you’ll even get the “rate-up” character from the banner. Speaking of the story: it’s literally just the anime. No new characters, no new story beats. They reuse voiceovers and footage from the anime. The only new element is the “unnamed magical girl”, which is a cool concept; however, the story moves so slowly that even halfway through you still know nothing about her. The gameplay itself is very repetitive, even for a gacha. It’s the same turn order every time, so unless you’re constantly switching around your team it does get stale after awhile. The PVP is basically a write-off. All of the matches are auto only, so you can’t actually fight other players yourself. It takes a looong time to do anything other than the main story. The event stories, PVP, and Tower quests are all locked until certain main quests have been finished. So even if you’re not super interested in the main story (which you won’t be if you’ve seen the anime a few times), you still need to complete a huge chunk of it before you can do anything else in the game. As for the event stories themselves: they run multiple limited-time stories at once, but you can only play 5 event quests a day. So if there are three event stories going on at once, you need to really stay on top of it if you want to finish them all before they expire. And speaking of expiring: EVERYTHING expires aside from gems. Magia keys? Expire. Quest materials? Expire. It’s impossible to save things up to use later on. The animations are beautiful, and I’m happy to see some Magia Record characters included; but this game has so many issues that it genuinely feels punishing to play. Some of the choices made feel like the devs are trying to make it as difficult to play as possible. They are simultaneously handing us scraps while constantly running new events and banners, which gives the impression that they’re trying to squeeze as much money out of the game as possible before its inevitable shutdown. It’s still fairly early days, so I’m holding out a bit of hope that they’ll address some of these issues and improve the game. But in the meantime, I can’t recommend this to any Madoka fan; and if things continue this way, I’ll be deleting my account..ThegirlwiththedollsVersion: 1.2.0

I finished making a soufflé before I could even play the gameCan’t get past the beginning loading screens and cut movies. Network and wifi is not an issue I check. The hallway scene. The moment you pause them or anything goes wrong you gotta after that point you gotta watch them all from the beginning and it takes a good 2 mins per video to load. There’s 4 of them!!!! You’d think they would have them already loaded in the initial download of the game but it’s like you’re streaming them fresh from the source and the quality of the video isn’t even that good! Beware Aniplex and EOSCould have been a lot better, but they chose to be mid. In terms of generosity and free gems, it’s very little. To hit pity you need 60000 gems and the pity doesn’t carry over. You would imagine in 2025 that this system would disappear since so many other games lets pity carry over. It costs around $30 for a 10 pull and they brought back pay to win, if you “subscribe” to BOTH their passes, you get 2x drops. Their passes are such a sad excuse, after 30 days, you get around 3000 gems TOTAL… I remember in older games like arknights and others, you can buy a monthly pass for $5 and get more than 2 10 pull worth of currency. This greed is insane… you know you can buy full games for $30 right? You know you can buy ps5/xbox/switch games for $60-80 right? What justifies a 10 pull for almost HALF the price of a AAA game???? Oh and I forgot to mention, Aniplex has a tendency to close games in the west early. So your $500 account is worthless if they close the servers. Please I implore you as players, only pay when they DESERVE your money. They can be as generous as Honkai, but they CHOOSE not to. For gameplay, once you hit a wall, you’re done; there is no content afterwards, there is nothing to do. You can’t get more materials to get stronger to try to beat the stage, you’re just done. Dailies take at most 2 minutes… then you have to wait for the next day. I’ve never seen a game so poorly managed before. Also they’re pushing out so many banners that could have been included since day 1. There have been 3 new character banners pushed out that you have to wait 2 months to be included in the general pool. The game has been out less than a month… Do better. When you treat your players well, you will be rewarded accordingly. It’s not the whales that support the games it’s the 90% of other players… I have not spent a single dollar on this game and will continue to do so until they clean up their act; you should too because if you reward this behavior you’re just asking for worse treatment.
