Resident Evil Survival Unit App Comments & Reviews

Resident Evil Survival Unit Positive Reviews

Hard game, but fun.I have to write another review, because this is becoming a pain in the behind. I absolutely love this game, haven’t had this much fun playing a game in longer than I can remember. I don’t usually play these types of games, but I saw your ad and the story line is what drew me in. The beginning of the game was really hard for me, but I’m an old lady, so that’s my excuse, lol. I’m figuring the game out as I go, and I’m having a great time with it. But I have a complaint, only one, but it’s really bothering me. Ok, so when there are directions, or leads or anything written that pops up, ITS ONLY UP FOR A HALF OF A SECOND!!!!! I’m a fast reader, so I know it’s not just me. Please can you leave things up for AT LEAST A FEW SECONDS?!! Please. I feel like I’m missing so much of the game because I can’t read fast enough. I’m not a computer, I’m a living breathing human being who needs more than one half of a second to read the directions and clues. Other than that, I’m very much enjoying this wonderful game. The developers, the writers- whoever is responsible for this incredible game- THANK YOU. You made one little old lady very happy. Merry Christmas to all the team at Resident Evil..Version: 1.2.7

Fun experienceI’ll be honest, when this game was first announced, I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. I’ve loved everything Resident Evil since the original trilogy, and I’ve continued to support the series throughout its many unique releases. What I love about this game so far is that it makes an actual attempt at capturing the RE experience seemingly from the POV of a fan. The interesting aspect of the gameplay is that it includes puzzles from previous games, namely ones you’ve likely seen from the remakes. Things like mini exploration, inventory management, document reading, and tons of Resident Evil related homages from past games. The soundtrack is a mixup of past games remastered in a way that doesn’t take away from their original sounds. (I’ve heard the OG RE 3 raccoon city OST!) aside from the exploration sections, they’ve included these sort of horde modes where an onslaught of different types of zombies run towards your characters. Each character has their own special ability that can be selected after a cooldown as a way of strategically setting up the battlefield. Then there are aspects of the typical phone game where you have a large map of buildings that you can sink supplies into (like you’re playing FarmVille) you get the option to purchase currency and speed up upgrades for building as well. Do the game characters pop up in meaningful ways that make total sense? Not really, but also be aware that you’re playing a phone game that very much leans on the coattails of the major games’ successful gameplay aspects. As a fan, I love this attempt at capturing the atmosphere of the games because it’s my understanding that this is the first phone game that has attempted it to this degree. If you love anything RE, this should peak your interest and give you a fun little RE experience with its own story. I’m interested to continue playing and seeing how they support it in the future. Give it a shot, you might be surprised..Version: 1.2.2

Love it so far!I pre-added this sometime in September, I believe. I’m not quite sure what month it was, but it was several months ago. I was really excited to see the ads and suddenly remembered it just yesterday, seeing it was only one day away. It downloaded a little bit ago, and I’ve just started playing it. So far, I really like it. It’s fun, starts off neat, and I’m liking the storyline so far. I recognize most of the areas from playing the actual Resident Evil games, as well as the characters of course, so it’s cool to see. Only thing that’s a bit wonky to me is the animation during talking cutscenes (not gameplay when moving); their faces and movement are PROBABLY just tweened, but it feels kind of AI-like, especially in the face lol. And the shooting mechanic is gonna take some time to get used to in my opinion, especially since aiming isn’t exactly a thing, or is at least difficult to understand, and I can’t shoot from distances longer than what the shoot icon pops up from. Also, some characters shoot slower than others, like comparing Jill and the main character we play as; the MC’s shooting is really slow (understandably if we’re being realistic with who the character is), but I can’t control the speed, so pairing that with the distance I’m even allowed to shoot, AND the fact that some items I randomly ‘miss’ without even aiming in the first place ends up with me taking damage. Although, with all of that being said, I’m not mad about it. It’s fun, I enjoy it, I love Resident Evil, and taking in consideration that this game literally just came out, I’m not even upset about it. Just maybe something to fix up a bit, even if it’s just distance in how far you can shoot, or a bit more obvious aim indication. Love it so far! I’m so happy this game’s finally out..Version: 1.2.2

The future of mobile gamingI know I may be a little biased when rating this game, but I do genuinely believe that Resident Evil Survival Unit is the next step forward for mobile gaming as a whole. I haven’t played it for too long, but I can already say that it does a great job porting existing resident evil mechanics into your pocket. It’s also not your standard simulation game that you see oh so frequently in the app story today. RESV thrives on its unique gameplay that you will find almost no where else. The game gives you an exiting tutorial that teaches you all the standard mechanics of a resident evil game. It may branch off from the main canon of the original games, but it does so in a way that feels fluid and as if it could have actually been the plot of the mainline titles. Previous fans of the series will have a great time seeing some of their favorite characters fight within exciting new combat, while newer fans will love the fun new story that provides a good introduction to what makes Resident Evil games so incredible..Version: 1.2.2

Sensory Overload: The Game (5 stars so you can see)As a massive Resident Evil fan, this game was (at least a little bit) exciting to hear about. And when it starts it’s very promising. There’s a cute little fixed-camera exploration segment with some RE1 references. After about 15 minutes of that, the game becomes a generic mobile game where you have a “survival base” and you join a faction and you have to constantly upgrade stuff. The amount of different gameplay types there are in this game is ridiculous. There’s this weird Raid: Shadow Legends tactical combat mode, there’s the exploration mode ala RE1, there’s a map where you can see your alliance and it’s just too much. There are menus upon menus upon menus upon menus upon menus all with buttons to tap to fill my brain with dopamine. This game is meant to be played with your mouth wide open while drool spills down your shirt. There are so many mechanics to keep track of but I think the intent is for you to not understand them so you just click buttons and accidentally spend a buck or two. It feels like five games in one, and only one of them is decent. It’s genuine slop, which is really unfortunate cuz the game started out kinda cool. There’s some neat ideas and clearly there were some people on this team that had passion but overall it’s not worth your time..Version: 1.2.2

Graphics & GameplayHello all, love games and this is what I do as a hobby. I try every strategy game old and new that I can find and give it a try. So the opening in this game I absolutely loved. You have the thriller and the horror elements but then the gameplay is completely bland from the graphics to the characters. It’s hard to distinguish which building is what unless you tap every single one. The game blends together and that’s super boring. To attack in world map or just try to get resources is a hassle. Everything is mushed together and it’s hard to identify. Same issues with the alliance. There are glitches with promotions and chat. Notifications lack a bit of more options. It’s also hard to find the UTC time which is what most of these games use so how can we schedule events without knowing those? The packs are a bit pricey for what they give you so I wasn’t interested in that. I’m a spender but I’m not blind. I won’t spend if it won’t help me long term. Anyway, good luck to you guys! I hope the game improves..Version: 1.2.7

Very good survival gameActually a very good survival game like the title says. The graphics are pretty good, the story good as well and the building and stuff is as well. I also really like how they pretty much have a lot of actual people from the games in this game. I think my only issue is like when there is a cut scene and people are talking it kinda goes by fast I wanna say like u got maybe 3 or 5 secs to read something that goes from one side of ur screen to another. If they can maybe make it slow I won’t see no issues in this game honestly. But love the game so glad I got. everyone who likes building and surviving games should definitely give this a try you would like it..Version: 1.2.2

Poorly thought outThere are several elements of this game that are very poorly thought out. One extremely glaring example is the radar missions. The mission level increases however after level 7 the mission count and grade do not increase. What is the point of having it go all the way to 20? It serves no purpose. Then you have the speed up items. I have close to 1000 medical speed up items because I’ve never needed them. The longest I’ve seen for troop healing is 5 minutes. A third area that needs changed is the universal hero files. I just unlocked Ada Wong, a legendary character. However I’m not allowed to use my Legendary Universal Hero Files to increase her star rating. You can apparently only use them on Claire. So what’s the point of having them? They should just give Claire shards and be done with it. There are only TWO rare characters and their shards drop quite easily so why have Rare Universal Hero Files?.Version: 1.2.7

Perfect intro but the world around you looks frozen1-the intro is perfect, 2-the fact that you can going through the building and explore it’s a new idea, 3-you need to enhance the graphic because there is a lot of mobile game that has better graphic than this one 4- add building animation IS A MUST because the building looks just an image like Nothing is moving that indicate the building is producing food or lumber, even when you upgrade the building nothing is changing which is that’s a little bit boring( speaking for myself I played the game for maybe 40 min and when I saw the building is just an image that’s a dealbreaker because part of the strategy game the environment need to be dynamic. As a resident evil fan the story is good but the strategy aspect it’s like you spent three weeks to develop this game..Version: 1.2.2

Honestly really enjoying thisFor being another mobile game where you build a base and collect characters to help you expand said base, I actually have really enjoyed the many RE elements sprinkled within a pretty common formula of mobile games. I heavily enjoy the inclusion of puzzles ripped almost straight out of the real RE games, need to actually conserve ammo while searching around, and the exploration also being accompanied an actual fixed camera “which was super surprising and fun for me.” I don’t usually leave reviews, but if you are a huge fan of RE like me and you also don’t mind common mobile game mechanics, I think you will enjoy this game pretty good..Version: 1.2.2

Resident Evil NostalgiaWOW. Just wow. This new game doesn’t just launch… it arrives, like a celebration of everything we’ve loved over the years. From the very first moment, you can feel the magic: the way it seamlessly connects with the previous games is nothing short of amazing. It’s like the developers took every moment we enjoyed from past titles, polished them, elevated them, and then wove them together into one continuous, breathtaking experience. The transitions between the older worlds and the new one feel so smooth you almost forget you’re playing a brand-new release. That’s how good it is. The gameplay? Incredible. The storytelling? Emotional and exciting. The nostalgia hits hard — but the fresh features make it feel like a whole new adventure. You can tell this was made with love, with respect for longtime fans, and with a bold vision for what gaming can be in the future. This isn’t just a game — it’s a reward for everyone who’s been on the journey since the beginning. Truly a joyful, brilliant, absolutely unforgettable experience..Version: 1.2.2

Earl thoughtsI have been playing for a few minutes now and so far I am enjoying the game. When not doing the tactical battle mode with multiple characters which is fine, it feels like a game that harkens back to the original resident evil. It brings back the door opening animations, you need to explore and read files like classic RE and the modernized remakes. The characters even make observations about certain things they see which is something I miss from the older RE titles. When in exploration mode you even enter combat in a more real time kind of way that once again evokes that feeling of classic Resident Evil. So far it is better than expected. I’ll try to update this as I play more..Version: 1.2.2

Way more fun than other survival games.I didn’t read up much about the game and I only saw one ad to convince me to play it. It’s RE so I said WTH I’ll try it. I’m already an hour in and I’m blown away by how much better it is than those other zombie survival games. What makes this stand out is that the story is loosely based on the RE games and the gameplay itself is unique because it takes from both old school RE and basic survival games and mashed together into a work of art. I don’t write reviews often about games unless they actually make me feel pure joy, especially from a mobile game..Version: 1.2.2

A Bit Boring But GoodThe mobile section where you collect money and resources by completing tasks and reinforce areas around the mansion is boring. The dialogue is also nothing to get excited about. You play as an unnamed survivor and lead survivors to a mansion that you reinforce and stop infected from breaking in. The best parts about the game are where you actually get to explore an area and fight off the undead with your team. I wish there was a lot more of this. The tutorial is only this and it was pretty sweet to see, but then you get into the actual game and are quickly reminded that this is just some mobile clone of the thousands of base building mobile games that are already out there..Version: 1.2.2

NostalgiaWoke up at 6am looking for a game to play, and came across one of the most nostalgic games I’ve played in a while. It’s 8, and I’ve just gotten myself to town hall 5 fighting off the infected. Yes, *spoiler alert*, and I do apologize for that. But the story, if you’re a fast reader just to make deadlines within the game, then it is fun, and the tiny information within the dialogues that lead as a teaser to the next storyline? Phenomenal. I did have high expectations that it’d just be a story based game, however with the intensity build up that this game has currently provided me within this past two hours, it doesn’t matter..Version: 1.2.2

Great exceptional Resident Evil mobile GameI really like the game but the auto shooting feature is okay but I'd prefer Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 style of having pointing to them if you know what I mean. It is just that auto mechanic of pointing to the zombies is kind of mehhhh.... some miss and some are targeted automatically based on the game mechanics. Also, the zombies do not feel scary compared to Resident Evil 2 and 4 and Evil Within. Overall, I really there is no micro transactions. Been waiting a free Resident Evil game for a LONG while. I'll give 5/5 since it is overall excellent zombie Resident Evil game better than most zombie games out there..Version: 1.2.2

FantasticI love the style and how good the controls have gotten. I played the dead space mobile game years ago on my iPad version 1 and it was a bit rough to handle. The only thing I can potentially criticize is that there is so much handholding that I don’t understand why I’m buying something and how much it costs and how to manage resources, cuz the game essentially decides it for me. I just want to get back to the walking and shooting stuff lol. Plus, This is really smooth and it has multiple languages so I can justify studying while playing it. Thank you again, fantastic so far..Version: 1.5.2

A fun “What if” retelling of Raccoon City’s fateI’m not far into the game but so far this is a fun retelling of the Raccoon City events. “What if Claire met other survivors and did not only meet Leon?” Or didn’t meet him first. “What if other survivors worked together in Raccoon Police Department?” I like the new alternate scenario. I also appreciate that the recent face models of the remakes are reused. One huge problem with the old RE games is that they’d have new faces every game. Jordan Mcewen *IS* Claire Redfield. And Sasha Zotova’s likeness for Jill has grown on me. Here, the remakes and in DBD for both actresses. I really hope Capcom releases a PC port or even just a console port because my only complaint is that I hate playing with my fingers. 5/5 Game. Interesting take on the lore. Great to see popular characters and have them reprised by the familiar actors and actresses. Puzzle solving and gameplay are exactly what I’d expect for a phone version of the RE series. Great job, guys!.Version: 1.2.2

Alright gameIts ok for what it is but it doesn’t feel like a resident evil game. The story doesn’t match up very well with resident evil 2 which is where it takes place all the characters are out of place and it feels like a rushed story trying to almost get it over with. I don’t like the weird mass shooting mini game it doesn’t make any sense but that’s just me. And it feels to easy like the games trying to baby you. Even playing on normal mode there’s still hints and objective markers which doesn’t match the confusing puzzle type horror the original games had. Of course it’s a free mobile game so there isn’t much to be expected and overall there still is fun to have..Version: 1.3.1

Great gameplay, atrocious character roster.I’m not going to get into the gameplay much in this review. It’s good, the classic base builder mixed with classic RE gameplay. This game is so close to 5 stars but it falls flat when you look at the character roster. The resident evil series has such an iconic cast of characters and yet, RE:SU is missing so many. Sheva Alomar, Ethan Winters, Sherry Birkin, Rebecca Chambers, and even Chris Redfield are noticeably absent from this games roster. Even iconic villains from the series like HUNK, Mr.X, and Wesker barely make any appearances. If Capcom expanded this games roster with some more iconic characters, it would be a near perfect mobile game. But as it stands now, it’s just good..Version: 1.6.0

A Must-Try Mobile Game for Resident Evil FansResident Evil: Survival Unit does a great job capturing the tense atmosphere and survival horror vibe the franchise is known for, while adapting it well to mobile gameplay. The base-building and squad mechanics are engaging, and collecting familiar Resident Evil characters adds a lot of fan service without feeling forced. The visuals are solid for a mobile title, with detailed environments and smooth animations. Combat is strategic rather than button-mashy, which makes planning and unit placement actually matter. The story elements and events keep things interesting, especially for longtime Resident Evil fans. That said, progression can feel slow at times, and like many mobile games, some mechanics lean heavily toward grinding or in-app purchases. A bit more balance for free-to-play players would go a long way. Overall, it’s an enjoyable and well-made mobile entry that respects the Resident Evil universe and offers plenty of content to keep you coming back..Version: 1.3.1

WAY BETTER THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD BEI’ve played every single resident, evil released and gotten all the trophies for the ones that have them when I heard about a resident evil coming to mobile I thought it would be one of those basic strategy games where you just move on level to level but so far the game is amazing they’ll be I haven’t gotten crazy far. I thought it would be a 2-D type of game where it’s just pictures but there’s actual gameplay which was a pleasant surprise so for a mobile resident evil it’s pretty good.Version: 1.2.2

Easily favorite game! Must play!I know that title sounds like a scam. I have been waiting with this on my watchlist for over a month and the second it downloaded I started playing. It’s legit one of the best games I’ve ever played in my life. Entertaining with no adds and an amazing story. Just like the other peak Resident Evil hames. Cannot stop playing. Definitely a must play for everyone! By the way devs y’all put the beginning on the day i was born. Not important just happy about that. Please please please keep making these amazing games..Version: 1.2.2

It’s fine. That’s all.The classic fixed camera angles and almost og controls seem to create an experience that can bring back feelings of the original, but the actual combat and animations fall under that “mobile slop” umbrella. I think they have something really neat here, but the animations simply do not cut it, and fact I can’t actually dance around zombies, and that they are pretty much guaranteed to hit, or that zombies can’t be stumbled, it’s just not how Resident Evil plays, or has ever played. The core of survival horror is not run and gun, and the core of the original Resident Evil games was the ability to NOT kill. Save ammo, save time, run around. The combat system ruins the game. I almost feel like they put more effort into making it not play like Resident Evil, despite them being like 80% of the way there. I want to like this, as there seriously is some really great stuff here that the team did a great job on, but not getting the combat of RE is like making a Mario game where you can’t jump..Version: 1.2.2

Fun spin on the RE universeThis game is surprisingly good… Nothing at all like what we have seen before in the series. I was skeptical at first with it being a mobile game and all but I continuously find myself surprised at just how much fun I’m having with it. I’m really enjoying the way they have meshed together the base building type of gameplay with the parts where you control your character in 3rd person. Absolutely recommend this game, ESPECIALLY to any and all RE fans of all levels..Version: 1.2.2

Adjust the Mechanics and make the story more compelling. Not going to to be beat around the bush, but the forced tutorial around these easy puzzles is unnecessary, I expected the puzzles to be challenging but it’s not unfortunately. The aim system for the main player is weird because I will stand over a zombie and shoot somehow miss, cause me to waste ammo! Other than that the story is pretty average you’re just surviving, building a shelter with other online players which is a good spin. It’s just whiteout survival with a different title. The main character whole reason is to find his parents through the tragedy of raccoon city!.Version: 1.2.4

Shockingly good mobile game!I'm about 20 mins in and so far i'm really enjoying it! it's a cool mix between OG fixed camera RE with some light puzzle solving mixed with real-time turn-based combat. the first thing i noticed is that this game is a lot of mobile game tropes smashed together, but it actually works really well! the game has been tugging on my nostalgia heart strings (looking at you, door opening animation) but not in a way that feels cheap. the game references where it comes from but doesn't rely on it!.Version: 1.2.7

Slow but accurateI get it. It looks like the game. It doesn't go off task like a mixing match puzzle. You actually solve crimes it's nice. Starting now you get on nothing and everything is about survival but I get it. It would be nice if I could buy ultimate armor upgrade or you know, but that would make it a different game. I guess, I get the same feeling as if I'm playing other resident evil games I think that's the whole point if you like R. E., play this game.Version: 1.3.1

Feeling abused, tricked and Getting frustratedThe search log… one thing RE fans love is what was provided at the beginning… it’s slow updates, to nothing- no new added maps in months, and the option to change our search log character to atleast the Big four characters (Jill, Claire, Chris and Leon) is a serious disappointment. I’ve been requesting this feature since I started playing. I’ve invested a considerable amount of money in this game, and I refuse to spend another dollar until this option is enabled. I’ll quit the game if it takes longer than a few months. This is RE, let’s use our favorite characters at MINIMUM. Helicopter event… really? All the effort spent into silly mini games instead of taking two days to allow model swaps in search log ?? I feel defeated supporting this game, at this point I cannot justify spending any more money I feel entirely unheard and abused as a Resident Evil Fan..Version: 1.6.1

Not so canon. You found yourself in Raccoon City Hospital, during the events of Resident Evil 3 & 2, but so far mostly RE2. You will see familiar faces, but the events of how you meet the characters is my concern. For example police officer Marvin. He helps you, but you don’t see him hurt cause of the bite that slowly will turn him in to a Zombie. But besides that, the old loading door screen made a comeback and that’s nostalgic, the camera angle is new and I like it. Easy mechanics are really easy to learn, graphics are decent. But the main character looks like James Sunderland..Version: 1.2.2

RE is amazingThis game is amazing especially since I played all the main titles. Which I still get a feel for from playing this entree from a mobile prespective. I love the involvement of are character in the store and the lore so far from character I have not gotten a chance To know Since their are RE games I have not got a chance to experience yet. I look forward to seeing the future of this game and seeing how it expands more..Version: 1.3.1

Need more rally controlPlease, add an option to limit levels on your rally. We have a lot of players who ignoring r4-r5 requests and sending t1-t3 on lvl5 rally and the result is a loss. Just simple setup will help, like to choose which levels can join when you launch it.Version: 1.3.1

Ok GameThis game seemed really cool at first. Like an actual resident evil game. But then it just transitioned into a build and wait game with fully automated battles. For me it became extremely boring quickly. Log in, upgrade some buildings, auto battle, close the game..Version: 1.3.1

Très bonJe recommande pour ceux qui aiment l’univers et le genre de RE..Version: 1.2.4

Good, but not enough charactersThe game includes a variety of different characters from multiple Resident Evil games, but it also leaves out quite a bit of other vital characters such as Albert Wesker and Richard Aiken..Version: 1.4.6

LeonMy husband is in it so the game is automatically goated.Version: 1.6.2

Classic RES feel to it!Long time fan of the franchise and this one hits like a classic..Version: 1.6.2

Good OverallFun and interesting overall, but needs more characters. There’s Barry, Brad and Marvin, but no Wesker :( Though, it kind of makes sense not to put him in the game as he’s a villain….Version: 1.4.6

SmoothSo far so good, smooth handling of the caricature and plot has the usual creepy vibes.Version: 1.2.7

Haven’t had this much fun on a mobile game in years.I’m a big review reader, and seeing how the developers not only read the apple reviews, but take reviews in from everywhere and actually Listen to the people made me know this game was going to be awesome. About 2 and a half hours in and it’s super fun. I truly recommend it for anyone that enjoys resident evil. I’ve played tons of building exploration games that Always fall short, but the amount of content in this already is mind blowing. Thanks devs..Version: 1.4.3

The gameThe best game I ever played, just little bit improved like character voice and graphics.Version: 1.3.2

The residents are evilLooking for Jill.Version: 1.3.1

Amazing game!I’ve been waiting so long for a good resident evil mobile game. This game is very fun and I enjoy everything about it! Thank you developers for making this game, I very much am enjoying it. Thank you so much!.Version: 1.3.0

Way Better Than It Has Any Right To BeSo far there’s a lot of nice old school survival horror action mixed with the standard mobile affair. It’s not bad..Version: 1.2.7

Decent gameDecent game rn, fairly standard war builder game with some cool features, only the future will tell if they add some more unique features.Version: 1.2.7

BackboneThis game needs the controller plugin.Version: 1.2.7

Survival UnitGreat edition to the iPhone, the game runs smoothly and nice FPS graphics , it feels like a mini version of the RE 1,2 &3 remakes..Version: 1.2.7

Only 1 STEP away from being PERFECT!The game is giving me PS1 Resident Evil vibes and it’s amazing! I kindly ask Developers to add PlayStation/XBOX controller support! That’s the only reason I’m not playing this game for hours!.Version: 1.2.2

CooolGreat game so far. I’m usually not a fan of this style of mobile game, but the resident evil theme in treated me, and this company did it well. Unfortunately, this game is plagued by bots. The first three alliances I tried to join, I was messaged by the leader and told that the game is shutting down and should try another game. All of the bot accounts ask you to message them on WhatsApp or discord, so keep note of that when choosing an alliance. Great game otherwise!.Version: 1.2.4

Great so farLooks a lot like an RE game, like the gameplay so far..Version: 1.2.4

Very good gameAt first, I was scared because I wasn’t sure if I would like the game or not but it turns out it’s very addicting and fun!.Version: 1.2.2

WowBest game ever!!.Version: 1.2.2

Love itI was worried that Capcom will let me down, but not at this time.Version: 1.2.2

Resident evilGood.Version: 1.2.2

Version: 1.2.2

Great for mobileExtremely easy to keep playing, interesting new characters, Carlos oliveira (need I say more), and a fair currency system. Can’t wait to see this game expand more..Version: 1.2.2
